The time has arrived. Dante just got a text from a friend letting him know that Shirou's game is back up and running. Dante has arranged for a bunch of friends to meet him outside the arcade, for the biggest, baddest online gaming session of all time. Dante is wearing a red basketball jersey, a lightweight flannel shirt, and baggy sweat pants, so he is comfortable while no-lifing the game. Wormmon is wearing his holosuit, taking the appearance of a teenage girl with long green hair. Wormmon is wearing a short white tank top, a red mini skirt, a tiny black jacket, and thigh high black and white striped socks.
Wormmon notices the coffee stand, and tugs on Dante's arm. "Ooh, ooh! Let's get some coffee!" "Alright, but keep an eye out for the others." Dante and Wormmon order two triple shot mochas with extra whipped cream. They sit down on the same bench where they sat the day they first played Shirou's Game. Dante glances over at the line at the arcade. "Hmm, the game only just went back online, and there's already such a long wait. It's a good thing Shirou gave me these VIP passes." Not only would Dante and the rest not have to wait in line, but they wouldn't have to pay to play the game. Ever since new management brought the game back, they've been charging all these ridiculous fees just to continue playing the game.
Dante takes a sip of his coffee. He wonders who exactly is running things now. Was there someone out there that could understand Shirou's programming? What is the game going to be like now that Shirou is out of the picture? Wormmon tries to contain his sheer delight of playing the game again. Laser cannons, boss fights, chainmail bikinis, Wormmon was ready to switch back over to his virtual life for a while.

"I'm not going back." Dust said with his arms crossed as his forearm was grabbed by Luna being dragged forward while he was being pushed forward by Hackmon's sister as he was slowly dragged back to the arcade, he really didn't want to come back. Honestly he really didn't after the events of last time. "Come on Dust, Shirou isn't around anymore, that won't happen again." Luna complained dragging the Holo suited digimon towards the arcade. "Plus we need you, come on Dust." she complained once again.
Hackmon's sister, the sistermon had her hat thing removed and her guns, while still on her person were more hidden then she usually kept them so she passed as a young girl easily enough, with a weird fashion sense but whatever. "Yeah Dust, you promised my brother also. If you don't want to do this, you could always take it up with Gundramon." she said with a small evil smirk. Dust closed his eyes for a moment. "Either go into a game where bad things happened before and I was trapped. Or get beaten up by something three times my size. You have no idea how tempted I am to choose the second option.
Hackmon was hiding in a rather large backpack his sister had, just in case he wanted to travel here. He was rather hard to hide after all. "Hey, you didn't have to say you would being us, this is all on you." Hackmon reminded yet Dust had a quick retort. "You guys didn't have to bug me about it for around a week straight, how did you even figure out this was getting released Luna?" Luna simply smiled laughing to herself a bit. "Oh a little birdy told me." she said as Dust, Finally, Started walking with his own feet leaving the Holo suited digimon and Sistermon Noir to walk alongside him.
Finally the four of them made it to the arcade, where Dust instantly saw Dante, and what he assumed was Wormmon since the green hair. Dust felt for some reason he should turn the other way, and walk away slowly. Whenever he met up with him, things turned crazy, really crazy.

This was stupid. Risking detection over a video game? Nonetheless, Dante had managed to talk Eva into joining up with them on this little escapade. Hopefully she could alert Dante to her presence without causing him to freak out, and hopefully the cloak would remain active long enough to enter whatever VR simulation this was.
Eva had explained to Dante already how she was going to arrive, although, she had no idea Dust and Luna were going to show up, and were likely not expecting Eva's voice to come from nowhere. In short order, she managed to pick Dante out at a nearby stand getting coffee, and waited for him to move away a little to an area that wasn't so crowded, spectre optical camouflage still running smooth.
After finding a decent moment, she moved up closer to Dante and this stranger with green hair who she presumed was another person he invited. He didn't seem stupid enough to invite someone else who would be likely to blow her cover, so, she made her presence known with a simple tap on the shoulder and a quiet "I'm here. This had better be worth the risk."

Dante sits on the bench waiting for his friends to show. The first ones there are a large group, dragging Dust along. "Hey guys. Wow, I didn't think you'd be here, Dust." Dante can only wonder how much nagging it took to get Dust to play this game again. Poor little fella, suffering Luna's unholy wrath. Suddenly, Dante feels something touch his shoulder. He jumps a bit and looks over, but doesn't see anyone. Then he hears Eva's voice. "Hey, Eva's here! I'm still getting used to the whole invisibility thing."
The group waits a while longer, but no one else shows. "That's odd, I don't see Timothy. He was excited to play Shirou's Game with us. I'll text him and let him know we are inside." The group makes their way over to the arcade. Dante checks in at the counter. "Excuse me, I have this pass for the VIP area. Excuse me, sir?" A young man with long hair wearing a beanie and ripped up jeans turns and walks over. "Uhh, what?" "I have this VIP pass." "Uhh, okay." "Can you take us to the VIP area?" "Okay, let me run this by my manager." This employee clearly didn't know much about his job. His eyes were as red as Dante's hair, and he smelled like old coffee beans. The employee walks over to an older gentlemen and asks about the VIP pass. The manager yells at him and points over towards the back.
The employee comes walking back over. "Alright, uhh, right this way, man." The group follows him to the back of the arcade. They walk into a room with a VIP sign on the door. Dante and Wormmon look around in amazement. Not only are their two high tech pods for playing the game, but there are also tables full of food, massage chairs, and in the back a small bathroom with a shower, for those long gaming sessions. "Whoah! This is what Heaven must be like!" "If you need anything, just pick up the phone over there. Chao." The employee walks out and shuts the door.
Wormmon runs over and starts shoveling food into his face hole. Lasagna, pizza, hot dogs, chips, cookies, the VIP room has it all. Wormmon chases the food with an entire bottle of lemon lime soda. "Alright, time to play the best game ever!" Wormmon gets in the pod and puts on the virtual helmet and gloves. They sign on, but are immediately hit with a super long loading screen. "Hey, what's this?! Stupid loading screen." Dante loads up a plate full of food and puts the helmet and gloves on. "Looks like it's going to take a while to load in. It didn't take nearly this long before." Once everyone loads into the game, they can select their characters, make new ones, or even edit their existing characters.

Dust was seen, he wasn't able to back out now, he was stuck. "Yeah, neither did I." Dust said getting a look from Luna. "Its the truth." he added looking at her as Dante said something about Eva, he decided not to say anything though, since he was sure talking to someone invisible was most likely not something normal humans took on kindly, Luna simply waved to all of them actions better then talking.
The sistermon behind Dust simply sighed herself sure this was going to become hectic. "I'm sure he won't care." she mumbled to herself holding up the bag that carried Hackmon scraching the shoulder, kinda hurt kid was heavy. "Oi Dust." she said getting his attention. "What's up?" he asked as he was grabbed by the collar of his shirt and pulled uncomfortablely close to her face. "Just reiterating what I said before, anything happens to my brother and I'm kicking your arse." She said threatiningly to the obviously taller and stronger Holo suited digimon. "Wow I can feel the love." Dust replied obviously not that phased since he can make jokes.
After that she let go and Dust and her followed soon after, once they were inside the sistermon looked around before setting the bag down carefully, after herself making sure no one would stupidly walk in she opened the bag letting Hackmon come out. "I hate doing that." he said streching out. "Didn't have to come." she pointed out, he had no retort. While the Sistermon was a bit worried no one cared about her tagging along, eh she didn't care. Since she was going to be in a pod she set the two guns back to their holsters near her legs not wanting to be sitting on them.
Dust and Luna looked around the room, Dust who shrugged. "Uh, what pods are we supposed to go into?" Dust questioned not knowing the difference.

Eva's cloak flickered slightly, her outline appearing in a blurred orange hexagonal grid like image before fading back into near perfect invisibility once more. Luckily none of the civilians in the area saw that. Or if they did, they weren't responding to it. "Let's get this started soonish, because I'm not sure how long my cloak is going to hold."
However, it easily held up long enough to reach the VIP room, and with no one else around but the current party who were seemingly well versed in digimon enough to not freak out when she became visible once more.
"Pretty sure that guy in the beanie was high as a kite." she said as she looked around the fancy VIP lounge. "Good thing he didn't get the munchies so hard that he wanted to eat all this stuff before we got here."
Eva wasn't really a big eater, nonetheless, she grabbed a can of energy drink and a packet of doritos, somewhat disappointed at the lack of booze on offer before poking her head inside one of the booths, and to the helmets. The gloves weren't an issue, but the helmets were human shaped. Eva, being a Renamon, had a Renamon shaped head. "Don't think it would matter what booths we go into. This helmet might be a problem for me though."

Wormmon gets fed up with the loading screen and sets the helmet down. "This is taking too long! I'll be right back, you guys." Dante helps Eva try to get the helmet on. Luckily, it can expand slightly. So long as the lens was in front of the eyes, and the electromagnetic connecters could reach the skull. Dante was excited to be playing Shirou's Game again. He didn't expect Dust to play again after everything that happened the first time. And now that they had a large group, their party would be unstoppable. Wormmon comes back in with his arms full of stuffed animals. "Hey guys! I got my prizes, that I totally won legitimately."
The loading screen finally ends. Dante reaches the character selection screen. However, there's a message going over some of the game's new features:
~New weapons and gear are available as part of the mandatory DLC Update. This makes all previous gear effectively useless.
~New classes, and new subclasses. New advanced abilities for existing classes.
~Everyone gets one free pass to edit existing characters. You will be charged for future edits.
~New quests available throughout existing maps, and a few new areas added.
~To obtain the latest gear, you must acquire Rabbit Stones. These can only be obtained by completing specific events and challenges, and you can only get 5 a day.
We hope you enjoy the new DLC! ~New Management
Dante is furious. "THIS IS BULL SHIT! Rabbit Stones?! All of our gear is useless compared to this new junk?! Fack DLC! Shirou may have been an evil maniac, but he at least knew how to make a great game! He would never sacrifice great gameplay for increased profits!" Dante is not happy this New Management is messing with Shirou's masterpiece.
Wormmon drinks some orange juice, laying on a giant pile of stuffed animals. "Relax, Dante! We will just grind all day and night to get those Rabbit Stones. Now, let's make our characters even more awesome!"

That thing about the helemet did bring another question to the four person squad that came with. Dust and Noire looked at the small white digimon, who had a digimon shaped head and most likely didn't know how to put it on. Dust grabbed the helmet and handed it to Noire. "He's your brother." he said with a small cocky smile. "You do realize I have two guns on me, right?" She asked very non threatingly to hopefully not make Dust be a sarcastic jerk for just a small threat.
Noire simply got on one knew before looking down at Hackmon. She then spent the next ten minutes working the helmet to fit his head, she managed to get it done after getting really fustrated and just pushing it down, Hackmon didn't seem to mind that much though, since the aspect of doing something fun apparently blocked out the pain of having a helmet forced down on his head.
Dust and the rest had no idea what the DLC was, nor did they really know how to do anything again. "Character deleted for hacking the server, that sounds about right." Dust muttered out as his character was deleted, great. Luna still had hers and simply just adjusted the look to her Holo suit form, since that's what she liked to see now. Dust simply made his Holo suit form, or as close as he could get. Though instead of a gunner he decided on a brawler, because he remembered this was a futuristic game, so deciding to punch stuff sounded like the best idea.
Noire and Hackmon had to spend some time making a account, eventually they managed to get to the thing. Noire simply went with a gunner as Dust had before with her normal twin pistols, that was her class. The character looked very similar to how she normally looked, sadly without the black church outfit she was know for. After scrolling through multiple provocative outfits for women she finally managed to find a red vest with beige cargo pants and combat boots. Since you know, best she could find.
Hackmon decided on a nice simple warrior with a massive greatsword outfitted with some type of rocket launcher and machine gun, though Dust and Dante would know what that weapon type was refrancing as they fought one person here like that before. The outfit was simple. White short hair similar to Luna's Holo suit with a large red scarf that hung around his neck covering some of his mouth. A thin white jacket and a black shirt with black pants and slip on shoes. Though he didn't know how to adjust height so he ended up making his character the same height as a twelve year old.

"No that's not going to... What the hell are you trying to do Dante, pull my damn ears off!? Okay, yeah, I got it. Whoa... this is trippy. I'm in, I think."
She was confronted with the same loading screen the others were, twiddling her thumbs as the bar slowly crept along the screen, likely calibrating. It had to stop and re-adjust several times, taking into account that it was dealing with a cyborg with interfaces to machinery all over her body, however it eventually seemed to work, putting Eva into a character selection screen. Which instantly showed the most skimpy options possible.
"... You have got to be joking. This is a joke, right? How is that armour?"
She went through several options, losing more and more faith in humanity each time, until she got to the custom character and class creator screen. There were a -lot- of options here, however, with careful and precise manipulations of the options, she ended up with a non skimpy female character, who used firearms. Still, she carried on editing, as the character options allowed for even more tweakery in appearance and loadout, and with all the options she chose, and the weaponry... She ended up looking like a soldier of the British SAS, Union Jack patch on the shoulder included. Black combat armour, a gas mask, suppressed M21 marksman rifle, MP5K, two frag grenades, and two flashbangs. Not to mention a combat knife, and all the various tools and pieces of equipment a special forces soldier would have at their disposal.
It took a little longer than the others to set this up, of course, but for this look and loadout? Totally worth it. "Who dares wins."

The helmets are on. The game has finished loading. It's time for chaos and destruction. Dante and Wormmon make a few changes to their characters. Dante stays as a Duelist, but gives his character long black hair with a red stripe in the front. He also specs more towards DPS, leaving the Tanking to Wormmon. Dante is wearing a high tech black and red suit of cybernetic armor that he got from Shirou while they were playing together.
The stats on Dante's gear are off the charts, or at least they were until New Management introduced new gear that nerfed everything into the garbage. Wormmon tweaks his Tank character, focusing on defense, while retaining his giant laser cannon. He goes with blonde pigtails, but is giving up the bikini armor for some green and white cybernetic plate armor that actually provides some protection. Although it doesn't have the same blatant eroticism. "Oh ya, we're back!"
The gang loads into the game. They appear in their faction's main city, a giant city of steel with players running all over the place. Dante takes out his samurai sword and examines the blade. "The blade is on the correct side. Not unique, but deadly." Wormmon charges up his laser cannon and fires a massive blast, incinerating a small information stand. "Oh baby, I missed you! Muhuhahaha!" They could have probably used that info to read up on the new features, but like most games, they will figure it out as they go along.
"Let's stock up on supplies and head out." Dante runs over to a merchant and purchases some potions and armor repair kits. "Wait, didn't that message say we need rabbit stones to get new armor? And we need to complete activities to get rabbit stones." "That's right. Look who's paying attention for a change." "Grr, shut up your face! I'll build a wall in front of your mouth!" Dante notices a new quest giver near the center of the city. "That must be where we get started. It will be a while until we have enough rabbit stones to get anything decent, but we gotta start somewhere."
Dante approaches the quest giver. He gets a new activity and shares it with the group. "Looks like we are starting out easy. Just gotta eliminate some space bandits." Dante turns around the corner and walks down a dark alley. Only players in the same party can enter the same instance. Otherwise, dozens of players would be standing around camping. The group continues onward, reaching a large opening surrounded by tall steel buildings. 8 space Bandits emerge from the shadows. They don't have high defense, but they are very fast, and can both dodge attacks, and strike in rapid succession. They are equipped with modified laser pistols and energy swords. "Let's rock."

Dust was back, as much as he dreded being back he had to admit Luna was right, Shirou was dead, she said she was there when it happened so he was worrying over nothing right? With a small sigh he loaded into the game the default weapon he had was simply his own fist, great but hey it's what he decided. He put the base status towards solo rather than a group attacks, he would just focus on one opponent and leave the others to sub classes.
Luna was loaded in the white haired girl in the old outfit with a rather large staff, she was the healer of the group, but since this was her old character she was her old level. And had the sub class of a brawler so she wasn't totally defenseless at all. "Welp, this staff is useless." she said dropping the once legendary weapon she was given by that one secret guy, it had it's status set to zero and price set to zero, the default weapon was better for crying out loud, but for sedemental reasons she kept it in her inventory.
Hackmon loaded in under the name of Ash, but he quickly got a smack in the head by his sister knowing it was simply for the pun considering Dust was around. She was like Eva a gun user but held two handguns with a special armed droid she could activate whenever she wanted. Hackmon was using the weapon Dante and Dust would know. Keith's weapon with a machine gun and rocket launcher attacked to the side of a blade with the trigger near the top of the handle. They turned him into a class now?
When the bandits arrive Dust put up his dukes. His stance wasn't anything with one hand up straight all fingers together while his opposing hand was back near his gut. He would look for one singled out before charging forward with a powerful punch. Luna hung back and if anyone got hit she would heal them. Noire just fired on the crowd of enemies with her guns, despite it just being a game, her aim was rather deadly.

Timothy was late, he had to deal with Bibi and Faluo complain about not being able to fit in the grocery bag together anymore, which let out a great sigh to Timothy. He eventually grabbed an old backpack he used to haul around books when he was a few years younger and stuck them in there next to each other and said, "Now don't move, you're stuffed animals."
"Yeah, and you're the nerd with stuffed animals!"
"Yes... I am."
He strapped his messenger bag with his laptop on, then put the backpack with Bibi and Faluo in it over his back and raced out of the small apartment they lived in. He got down to the train station and took the first train down to Norther Shibuya and raced over to Cat Street. From there he ran up to the guy up front and said, "I'm with Dante, I was running late and only just arrived."
He held up his phone for proof, showing the text messages and ran past the guy saying, "Thanks!"
Upon getting into the room, he spent a few minutes catching his breath while Bibi and Faluo hop out, Bibi saying, "Man you're lazy."
"Shut up..."
"Yeah, what he said!"
"Not the time Faluo."
"Aww..."
After a few more seconds (with Bibi and Faluo chowing down of course), Timothy goes over to the last three headsets and fits two of them on Bibi and Faluo before putting his last one on. They read the message with Bibi shouting, "Aww, man! Loading screens!?"
"Looks like a new upda-... No. Oh please, God no!"
"What?"
"Our stuff is useless!"
Everyone: "Nooooooooooo!!!" While they did this, the loading screen finished and they edited their characters a little. Timothy decided to change his class after finding one literally called 'Walking Armory'. He now looked even more like a soldier from every bad Sci Fi move, and great Sci Fi game ever, with blue and white armor with a blue techsuit underneath. He was now absolutely ripped under the techsuit, with the armor hopefully making him incredibly bulky. He also carried a minigun, a Sci Fi assault rifle, a Sci Fi rocket launcher, and a ton of more gadgets, especially due to his already high level.
((Totally making a Spartan outta Timothy))
Yokomon decided to edit her class as well to a 'Space Wizard." She was now wearing a purple cloak with a hood, some wings, and wielded a double bladed laser sword that totally wasn't a lightsaber. She kept most of her look, other than her clothing and now she could use magic, not the force, the new developers swear.
Tokomon changed to a class called 'rifleman', it sounded boring, but seemed to have some pretty cool grappling hook and jetpack tricks, especially due to his already high level. He was boring and didn't do anything but add a pair of wings to his back. He kept to his light body armor, with wings instead of a jetpack, seeing as that was an option now.
Upon getting in, the party instantly saw Dante and co. and decided to play a little prank on the party as they joined in with a new inconspicuous feature that didn't show who they were at all, climbed up some buildings at the top of the alleyway and got ready. Timothy started off his assault by standing over the edge and just laying down heavy fire with the minigun in an AOE that he was already pretty good with due to his time with the laser cannon. Bibi dived right outside the AOE, ready to join in as soon as Timothy's lackluster AOE was done. Faluo was on the side of a wall, ready to fire shells down after Timothy as well. They were so trying to mess with the group and kill everyone before anyone got a chance.

Even though this was a game, Eva seemed to be taking this encounter with these space bandits pretty damn seriously, her voice slightly distorted by the gas mask, but judging by her tone she seemed to be completely focused, and ice cold as she engaged the hostiles.
"Eyes on tangos 12 o'clock."
Despite this being a game, it was clear her aim was just as deadly here as it would be in reality, the screen lighting up with headshot bonus after headshot bonus. Things were going well, and the digimon was getting quite the killstreak. Well that is, until the others entered the fray and stole all the damn kills, then started firing on the team!
"Incoming fire, 8 o'clock! Flash out!"
Eva threw a flashbang at these what seemed to be new assailants, taking heavy damage from the AoE attack, however, was able to duck back into cover before the minigun opened up, rolling from cover to cover to avoid getting nailed by the heavy weapon before she found a good sniping position, switching to her rifle and scoping in on the hostiles, ready to fire.

First mission in, and the gang had already hit the ground running. These bandits made for a decent challenge, but the party was able to overwhelm them with numbers and sheer firepower. Dante engages one of the bandits in a sword fight. He deflects a strike and responds with a quick slash, but the bandit dodges back. Dante steps forward and goes on the offensive, with a couple of fast strikes that are easily blocked. He steps back and takes up a defensive stance. The bandit goes for an attack, but Dante uses Blink Strike, teleporting behind the bandit and slashing him across the back for the kill. Green XP goo flies out of his wound. Dante picks up a couple handfuls and stuffs his face, increasing his XP bar a whooping 2%.
It isn't long until the party finishes off the space bandits. However, there appears to be some new assailants up above on the rooftops. Dante takes out his pistol and fires a few shots. Wormmon charges up his laser cannon and fires a powerful blast, shaking the foundation of one of the buildings. "That's strange. This wasn't part of the mission." "Hey, stop cowering up there, and come down and take your butt whoopin'!" The party couldn't tell who they were. Are they rival space bandits? Other players? Whatever they are, they had broken one of the most important video game commandments: Thou shall not steal kills.
Another bandit emerges from behind a dumpster full of old broken down computer equipment. This one has long blonde hair, and is wearing black leather armor with a gold shoulder pad on his right shoulder. He takes out a box of pocky sticks, and puts two in his mouth, breaking the tips off and chewing loudly. "Hey look, Dante! He's got pocky sticks with pink frosting! Oh, where can I get those at?" Dante lowers his pistol and take a few steps towards the mysterious stranger. "Who are you? Some kind of boss fight or something?"
The bandit smiles a sinister grin, revealing nasty yellow teeth. "No. I'm here to deliver a message. The Bandit King has been waiting for you to return." Dante thinks back to the first time they played Shirou's Game. "The Bandit King? Is Soulja Boi still in charge?" "Surprisingly, yes. You should pay him a visit. Although I recommend you get better gear." Wormmon gets angry. "Better gear?! What are you? Some kind of elitist tryhard?!" Wormmon fires a blast from his laser cannon at the bandit, but he vanishes into thin air before the blast reaches him. "Drat! I wanted to blast him to smithereens." "Hmm, Soulja Boi is still the Bandit King? Maybe we should pay him a visit later." If only they didn't have to collect rabbit droppings, I mean, err, rabbit stones, in order to get the flavor of the month gear. Fuck Destiny.

Well this was a bit too easy, Dust was just beating the tar out of anyone, one punch also, what he lacked in speed and range he made up for in pure power, kinda like how he is in actual life. Hackmon was over there, still trying to figure out how exactly his weapon worked, and Luna instead of healing was helping him out, with Noire standing nearby talking to him while shooting headshots with her eyes not on the target, muscle memory helps a lot here it appears.
Then Dust felt someone grab the back of his shirt and drag him backwards, turns out it was Luna as some random person fired amongst the crowd not seemingly caring about the people he might of hit. "Saved your life." Luna called out as Noire simply shot the large guy with the Mini gun thinking he was most likely a enemy, or at least no ones friend, she also made sure to aim for the head since that was usually what made people go down faster, as normal her aim was quite precise.
While she did that Dust and Luna paid attention to what he said, another bandit leader? Or most likely the old guy, darn it. "Great, we have to find stuff I suppose, Hey Luna don't suppose your dumb luck found anything better?" Dust asked on the off chance it did. "Nope, pretty sure that DLC made it so I can't, sorry Dust." Luna said wondering what could be the bright idea that made that a thing.
