Timothy laughs as everyone starts firing at him, falling over backwards, not realizing how heavy his character was and falling through the entire building and coming out the wall, still in a fit of laughter when he finally reaches the bottom. Bibi and Faluo both stare at him, giggling a little as everyone seemed to have ignored them.
By now everyone probably was confused as Timothy climbed to his feet, still laughing. Once he finally calmed himself down, he said, "Guys, it's me. Timothy, that was waaaay too much fun as a prank. Though I never expected any of you to run into the middle of all that ammo..." He says this looking at Eva, "Oh, and Bibi and Faluo are over there." Bibi and Faluo both waving, still giggling a little each.

Eva just gave a glare to these chuckleheads. Not only did they launch a barrage of killstealing and potentially teamkilling stupidity, they didn't even have the common courtesy to call out "danger close" while firing artillery grade weaponry so near to friendlies! Not to mention the collateral damage on a civilian building! That was court marshal worthy for sure.
The digimon lowered her rifle, looking around the area for additional hostiles, deciding to not chew these people out for their little show of force. This VR game was similar to the NanoWerx combat sims in a lot of ways. Not as difficult or realistic, but, it was certainly still real enough to get Eva to take this seriously as though it was a real combat scenario.
"No more tangos spotted. Advise relocation, reinforcements may be vectoring on our position."

Realizing that the mystery assailants were actually Timothy and the twins made Dante happy that they had made it to the arcade. Then he facepalms over their choice to sneak up on the group like that. "Alright, I think introductions are in order. As you all know, I am Dante." "And I'm the Worm King! Fear my laser!" It was difficult to tell which character was being played by whom. Their group was up to 10 now, and while that meant they could easily steamroll over most quests, organizing this squad was going to be almost impossible.
"We should turn in this activity, and start the next random mission." Everyone exits the instance and returns to the quest giver. He drops a single round brown rabbit stone in each of their hands. "Ya! Only 19 more of these sumbitches and I can get new boots!" "Oh, it's going to take forever to upgrade our gear at this rate! The limit is 5 a day, and most pieces of armor cost 20 or more. We would have to play every day for months on end just to get standard gear." "And by then, they would just release new armor, making the armor we grinded so had to get completely useless. We've gotta find a way to get more rabbit stones!" "Maybe someone knows how we can glitch the game. For now, let's start another activity."
There's a quest giver on the other side of the market district. Dante approaches him and scrolls through the details. "Hmm, okay. Looks like we have to slay some kind of giant space hog." "Do we get to cook him? Space bacon, space hot dogs..." Dante accepts the activity and shares it with the party. "Alright, we've gotta board a shuttle over to Deadbone Valley." Fortunately riding this shuttle doesn't cost the players anything.
A short shuttle ride later, the gang arrives at a small outpost near the center of Deadbone Valley. The sky is dark pink with black clouds of smoke and toxins. All the trees look like they are decomposing. Outside of the outpost are lots of cannon fodder mobs. There's two main kinds: Gorgers, large angry hogs with rotting flesh, and Vulkos, large vultures with cyborg implants. Part of the activity calls for collecting hog snouts and vulture beaks, so now is the time for some good old fashion murder-grinding.

Dust, Hackmon and even Luna hadn't been paying attention to the people on the buildings, since they figured a low level quest wouldn't have someone sneaking up on them, even Noire only shot at them a few times before hearing the laughter giving a small sigh before putting the two guns away. "Alright, can kinda see why you don't like this game Dust." she said, if there were annoying people like this she could kinda understand why.
With that while getting stones thing the five person group Dust had just stared at it. "Alright, either we find a way to glitch or we don't play Luna. I don't have time to 'Grind' for anything." Dust told her, Luna simply shrugged letting out a small laugh. "Hey we don't know someone who can though, and they were uhh?" Luna said crossing her arms closing her eyes. "Kete, Kate, Keit, Katty, Kitty?" Luna asked shaking her head. "The name escapes me." Luna said shrugging. "Well you keep working on it." It would be better if they could find whoever Luna was talking about, it had been a while Dust didn't remember either.
When they got to the area the five of them kinda just hung back for a bit, since last time these others seemed WAY more serious at this then they were, well firing on your own people in order to get more kills and Eva with her military speak no one seemed to be paying attention to, was it best for the five casual players to even try? Considering Dust doesn't like fighting? Maybe.
With a small thought Dust sighed putting his hands in the same combat position. Screw it they will at least do something after being dragged here by Luna. Luna did her thing getting ready to heal anyone who needed it. Dust charging forward at the vul-whatever's really hoping they don't shoot at his back, since he was the first to charge they wouldn't have a excuse this time. Hackmon raised the big sword charging forward, himself not knowing how to use it but he went for the Gorgers using the blade the cut them in two. Meaning Noire simply shot anything she saw in the head, someone else's target or no she fired upon both groups of enemies, ever shot landing in the head while she had a bored expression on her face.

Timothy, Bibi, and Faluo make their way back with Dante, and upon receiving the quest, they head over to the area. This time, Timothy is careful to not shoot his own teammates because he felt as though he tortured them enough initially. He could be seen firing away like a madman towards anything he saw. Bibi and Faluo were focused solely on taking enemies out, one by one. It was taking forever seeing as their gear was all ruined from the update.

Eva was popping off shots at the mobs from a long distance away from the best concealment and cover she could find in this desolate valley, and much like Noire, every shot from her rifle was nailing targets right between the eyes, the bonus damage stacking up so much that the mobs were falling quickly despite the cyborg only having starter equipment. Minmaxxed as heck starter equipment, sure, but starter equipment nonetheless.
With this environment being a toxic wasteland, the digimon was certainly damn glad she got the gas mask as one of her starting pieces of gear, even if the only reason she chose it is because it looked the part and she had a spare equipment slot.

The gang goes about slaughtering the mobs in their own ways. Dante dashes forward, slashing a gorger with a quick strike. Two more charge towards Dante. Possessing only lackluster crowd control, Dante steps on top of the one he cut, and jumps over, as the two gorgers ram into each other. Dante turns around channels his energy into his reverse-reverse blade sword, creating a powerful wind blast towards the crowded together trio of disgusting space pigs.
Wormmon blasts vulkos with his laser cannon from afar. A vulko flies towards the Worm King, but Wormmon swings his cannon like a bat, sending the vulture soaring through the air. A flock of vulkos swarm Wormmon. "Enjoy hell, you stupid rotten flesh sucking buzzards!" Wormmon throws down a couple of mines, and crouches down. He activates the power Energy Field, using the power from his cannon to generate a temporary shield around him. The mines go off, blowing the vulkos to smithereens, and Wormmon is unharmed.
After genociding all the pigs and vultures in the area, it's time to nom the green XP goo. The group also finds some mediocre gear among the decaying carcasses. "Great. Even this low level gear is better than top tier raid armor from before the update." After all the XP has been accounted for, it's time to move onward to the top hog. "Hmm, that's strange. When we played before, the helmets would inflict pain when our characters took damage. I can still feel a little shock, but it might as well have been disabled completely." "Stupid sissy New Management! I'll take horrifying pain over this lame rabbit stones currency thing."
After Luna has healed up the party, and everyone exchanges buffs, the gang moves onward towards the location of the giant space hog. They have to make their way across a rocky plain, careful to avoid falling into pits of acid. "Heck, now that the pain feature has been nerfed, this acid isn't even scary." Wormmon dips his foot in a puddle. He feels the sensation of flesh melting away. "Oh dear Goddess ahhh!" "So, maybe some things hurt more than others. Just what is your game, New Man?"

Well they just got done destroying a entire squad of those things, good job team. Noire in the back tried to reload her gun then noticed the clip wasn't coming out, oh yeah game it auto reloads, old habits die hard. Dust simply sighed stretching his arm, he had expected something to go horribly wrong, luckily nothing did and they found some stuff in the process, which was always nice.
Luna simply healed everyone up like a good mage should, however it should be noted in the mean time she had been bashing some of those things around with her staff, apparently this white mage likes hitting things. Hackmon simply lugged the big blade over his shoulder continuing onward.
When the part about the pain came up Dust scrached the side of his head. "Still never got why the pain things a thing." he mumbled out, even before he never really felt it since he had taken far heavier hits then this game could realistically deal to a human without getting sued as some point.
And the group watched Wormmon dip his foot into acid, and then scream. Luna however was backed up against Dust quickly going behind him. "Luna what's wrong?" Luna simply pointed at the acid seemingly instantly knowing what it was. "Melting." she muttered out. "Oh yeah, fear of melting. Forgot about that." Dust recalled as Luna climbed on his back, while it might be seen as rude she just really didn't want to be on the ground near that stuff.

Timothy remembered the pain thing well. At first, it was an annoyance, but eventually became non-existent once he got his raid gear and a shield ability. Everything just bounced off of him at that point... Now, nothing hurts too much still, but then again... He wasn't really hit once...
They made their way across the plain, it was easy for Bibi and Faluo with all their light armor 'n stuff, but Timothy? Timothy was taking each step carefully, making sure his sheer weight wouldn't cause him to fall in to the acid. It took him a good ten minutes to get across compared to everyone else's minute, maybe two if they were slower.

The reloading thing was also confusing Eva quite a bit. She tried to put in a new magazine, however the old and presumably empty one was still stuck in there as though it was welded in place! She double checked the mag release. It was there, but it wasn't doing anything!
"Damn! Mag release is jammed tight!"
She quickly checked over the weapon, trying to figure out some way of releasing the magazine when she found to her surprise, it was full!
"What? Do I have infinite ammo or something? My mag's full again, and I didn't have to reload!"

The family size party makes their way across the acidic terrain, reaching a large pit. "This is where the quest says we need to go. Now to take care of the boss, and get our loot." The group makes their way down into the pit. On the far side is a large cave entrance. Loud grunting and screaming can be heard coming from the cave. "Sounds like Thanksgiving dinner." Out of the cave comes the giant space hog. Disgusting slime dangles down from his mouth and snout. The beast is covered in a thick hairy hide, with several scars and laser burns from past players trying to take down the behemoth.
The hog charges towards the group. Fortunately it is very slow, and the party can easily outrun the beast. The hog squeals and shoots slime out of its snout. Dante teleports a few feet to the left to avoid the attack. "Gross! Don't let that crap touch you, or you'll be stuck in slime like a bad marriage." Wormmon sets his laser cannon down and activates its side cannons, launching several missiles at the hog. The missiles hit the hog and explode on impact, only doing insignificant damage. "Great! How are we gonna kill this pig?" The hog snorts, spraying slime all over. "Look out!"

Well this was happening, Luna was stop holding on to his head as she waved her staff around accidentally spamming healing spells at anyone. Luckily it didn't effect the pig at all. "Luna we're away from the acid pits, you don't have to hold your eyes closed." Noire who simply laughed at him looked over at Dust. "Come on Dust, control your girlfriend, she's wasting all her ability." Dust simply sighed. "Working on it."
Noire and Hackmon decided to let Dust solve his problems, she continued to fire at the pig distracting it as Hackmon ran over to its side dragging it against the ground before bringing it up in a powerful slash to its side to try and send it into the air.

Timothy, Bibi, and Faluo remembered fighting boars just like this, you just gotta get behind them and hit them hard. Surprised to see so few people figuring that out. Timothy gave a nod to the twins and fliped his minigun on his shoulder and fired off a flare to taunt the boar, then fliped back into firing position and started firing a continuous stream of ammo right at the boar after getting out of the way. His ammo probably isn't hurting it much, but it certainly should be holding it's attention.
Bibi and Faluo decided to play a game and play dumb until the rest of the group figues it out and starts firing at it while running around, purposely putting few shots into the back of the boar so they don't give it away. They were laughing amongst themselves while firing at the boar.

"Incoming... Giant enemy hog?"
Damnit! This hog was too close for the rifle to be at its most effective, so she quickly swapped to the MP5, evading the slower boar with a quick roll to the side, unloading into its back and tossing a frag grenade. "Frag out!" This thing didn't seem to be an armoured vehicle, but it certainly seemed to be an assault unit of sorts, so it would make sense its rear armour would be lighter than its front.
In other words... Giant enemy hog, attack its weak point... for massive. damage.

The party maintained their distance, and kept chipping away at the hog's health bar. Like a diabetic trying to eat a giant 20 pounds Snickers bar. The hog lifts up its front legs and stomps down, sending a shockwave across the ground. The attack deals damage to everyone in the party, and stuns everyone within a certain range. Dante is stunned for a few seconds by the affect. The hog charges forward and strikes Dante with a tusk, sending him flying into the wall. "Ooh, I felt that one." Dante drops his sword and holds his chest in pain. The hog wasn't showing any sign of damage or fatigue. It just continues to charge around the pit, spraying slime from its snout.
"We need to switch up our game plan. That thing has too much health." The hog charges towards Wormmon, grunting and squealing. Wormmon drops down some mines and runs away. The hog runs over the mines, taking moderate damage. "We've gotta slow it down! Gunfire isn't going to cut it. If anyone has any ice abilities, try that." The hog raises its front legs and slams them down, shaking the ground again, dealing damage to everyone in the party and stunning everyone within range.
