Corrupted Wood (N-Rank) (5/5)

The ferocity of the battle was such that two of the fighters were by now completely overwhelmed. JewelBeemon was finished by the concentrated fire, and Delumon had no chance apparently against Isaac's surprise attack.
But as their bodies disintegrated, the corruption on the forest floor began to become agitated - whipping around as though a high wind had entered the clearing. The center of the swirling black data appeared to be Jyureimon, who by now appeared to be... laughing.
Then, something truly shocking appeared from his visage. His carved face now appeared to be truly demonic. Choking dark smoke rose from his branches, turning the withered green leaves black. Then, at once, everything changed.
"Jyureimon... mode change to...!" he rumbled, then at once, every leaf on every one of his branches fell, being caught up in a high wind. The leaves were actually fragments of corrupted data, and the loss of JewelBeemon and Delumon seemed to add to its effects. The dark blizzard was so dense that nobody would have been able to dodge or protect themselves. And the leaves that touched the others would sap their strength, rendering them unable to repeat the actions they had made just now until they had recovered.
When the withered leaf storm ended, almost an entirely new digimon was before them. Jyureimon no longer had any leaves left, his face was a twisted demonic visage filled with hatred, and rising from above his trunk, a skeletal figure that seemed to be made from corrosive smoke and toxic liquid appeared to be leering down at the fighters.
"...Geneaux Mode" the figure said. Almost immediately, two large tentacle-like vines covered in thorns appeared from the ground to his left and right. While three enemies had now been reduced to one, it seemed that this foe would not go down easily. The corruption was using its full power now.
And, like as expected, a single blue flower blossomed in the thorny wall surrounding the clearing.
JewelBeemon and Delumon have been destroyed.

Satoshi and his partner... oh right, these often quiet lads had been participating in this conflict as well. Not wondering too long about their sudden appearance, Cion made notice of the strange energy the WereGarurumon's howl released. Somehow, it fueled her system with a surge of power, and it was evident it was not her alone. "Many thanks!" She expressed her gratitude kindly before turning to the MetalGreymon she stood on. After all, if Casimeir was going to engage the JewelBeemon in CQC, then she preferred to hang on tight.
Briefly making note of Valeria's grave injury, the CyberSagitamon wondered why it had not thrown her into a lesser state of existence. Somehow, this vampiric digimon was far more enduring than most others, but the vulpine supporter had no reason to leave her behind with her lesions. Keeping them in mind, she turned to Isaac and watched him quickly gather strength until it was time to pursue the assault. Removing himself from the rest of the opposition, he instead attempted to cut down Delumon. Again this breakup of focus... inexpedient.
But did any of the attempts actually bore fruit?
Why yes it did, or so it seemed. The two aforementioned sentinel vitiated by the dark corruption had their physical form taken away from them through brute strength. However, this chance of events also had a side effect, for the scourge tainting this forest grew in power, creeping towards the lingering Jyureimon to... nourish it? Oh... that was not good. Beholding its transformation into an entity truly vile, Cion did not even try to comprehend what the name it gave itself meant. Like the oily plague itself, it was probably incomprehensible and purportless anyway.
The dark blizzard conjured by the enslaved fiend though inhibited her gun to recharge for a long time, meaning she had to rely entirely on her powers to protect those she cared for and disrupt the... whatever the skeletal monster in front of them was. "Data Recreation." She whispered yet again, mending the wounds of her comrades to the best of her abilities. Unable to utilize the WereGarurumon's buff she sighed, firing another data arrow at their next enemy who still suffered the two previous bolts from its prior state.
"Be careful now." She encouraged everyone to be extra cautious. They could pull through this, but rashness was certainly not the way to victory.

Casimeir turned himself to face against the final enemy. A growing concern as thick as the black swirling data hung in the air while the MetalGreymon and his human partner watched the fallen Digimon break down and become absorbed by the Jyureimon. Despite two of the three enemies being defeated, the main threat was even stronger now.
John frowned at the sight of Jyureimon. The tree Digimon's evil and ghastly appearance nearly struck fear into John's soul. "No," he breathed, eyes wavering at the mere sight of the Digimon. "Jyureimon...What happened to you?"
"John," Casimeir groaned, "we're almost finished. But it's gonna take me a while to get a good number of my abilities ready again." The large Digimon almost frowned. "I need you to go to the sidelines and stay back. I can't risk you getting hurt."
John nearly spoke up in protest but bit his tongue rather quickly. Casimeir had a good point. The Jyureimon was even more threatening than before and would most likely not hesitate to harm a human if one was within reach. He let out a dreary defeated sigh. "Go get 'em Cas." With a loving pat on Casimeir's head, John slid down his partner's back before making a mad dash over to Satoshi.
John's energy felt as though it was draining sliver by sliver once he was among the ink-colored data smog. But he did not care; he had to reach Satoshi. Out of all the participants of this mission, Satoshi was the one who John felt the most connection to. They were roommates, after all, and amazing friends to top it off. The two even made their first visit to the Digital World together and saved Satoshi's partner from harm. It did help that Satoshi was practically the only other human here that he knew on a personal level.
The man made it to Satoshi's position before long, bringing a worried, yet, warm smile along with him. "Our partners are kicking butt, eh Satoshi?" John turned slightly to better view the battlefield. Casimeir was still standing his ground while he assessed the situation. "How amazing is it that both of our Digimon achieved Ultimate stage today?"
His smile faded away. "With everyone working together we have the edge. I just can't help but worry that there's more to Jyureimon than a change in appearance. Maybe the Megas that we have won't be enough. If only we had one more." John shook his head. "But it's okay. I know that we can win today because Cas and WereGarurumon are strong. They're tenacious. I don't know how to put it but, every time those two work together it's like they're unbeatable."
Meanwhile, Casimeir glanced over to Satoshi's partner. "We're not gonna let this oversized Yuletide Log boss us around, are we WereGarurumon? Our partners and everyone else are counting on us. Let's help end this corrupted Digimon's suffering and save the Labyrinth together! What do you say?"
A brand new energy was now building up inside of the MetalGreymon which began to pour and shine from his body in a brilliant turquoise blue light. He felt his connection to WereGarurumon growing, calling to his core.

Satoshi was a little shocked to see John coming up to him. The two had seemed mostly separated during their time on this mission. John definitely seemed the type to take charge and be on the front lines with Cas, and Satoshi just...wasn't. Now that things were looking their bleakest, John seemed to turn to Satoshi for guidance and help. "You're right," Satoshi grinned. "Our partners have done some amazing things, and we're with them every step of the way! Now is the time to take some action and get things kicked up into overdrive!"WereGarurumon seemed to agree, nodding and giving a cheesy thumbs-up to the two humans. Once he did this, a warm glow surrounded the bipedal wolf as a similar energy began to burst out from every pore of his body. The energy was identical to MetalGreymon's, and once the two reached a certain wavelength, their forms seemed to disintegrate and come together in a brilliant light. "MetalGreymon!""WereGarurumon!""DNA Digivolve to...MagnaGarurumon!"After the light subsided, Satoshi took a glance at the new form that was standing in front of the two Tamers. It was incredible. The two of them had come together in the eleventh hour to form a Mega-level Digimon together! The newly fused Digimon took off through the air for Jyureimon. "Magna Cannon!" he shouted, voices of both Gabumon and Cas coming through. Four bullets of energy shot through the air straight for Jyureimon, ready to strike.
MagnaGarurumon uses Magna Cannon. -Magna Cannon: Using his Sniper Phantom gauntlet, MagnaGarurumon will fire up to four energy bullets at one or multiple targets. The cooldown lasts for two turns.

"Oh thank the lord... t-thanks, Isaac!" Just now feeling the effects of the flower's poison wear off, the Gatomon just now managed to crawl back up on her feet, the shattered black data quickly wafting over. In similar fashion, Valeria pulled her blade out of the JewelBeemon's torso, one last twist given for good measure before the beast vanished entirely.
And then there was one - and boy, what a problematic one it was. But honestly, at some point, this was beginning to look like a case of too many cooks in the kitchen. With Koneka safe in the background, and with two other Megas already able to focus upon the tree, there really was no point in risking more of her skin than necessary. Spying that blue flower off in the background, the fairy gave a shrug, reaching up to crush one of the flowers from her hair. Wounded as she was, the Adamon simply pointed her palm towards that flower, razor-sharp petals rocketing outwards in an effort to tear it asunder. Blades of Blood would be more than enough for that.
"... Hopefully, that's alright." Ami muttered, still feeling a strong-enough glow from her Digivice. Hopefully, Valeria was getting back a bit of control from the mega?
Valeria uses 'Blades of Blood', using sharpened flower petals to destroy the opposing flower!

Isaac let out a somewhat agonized shout as Delumon and JewelBeemon both exploded into data. He could feel tendrils of black corruption stab into his wrists, rending at the muscles he had used to slice through the regal bird. He felt pretty much all of his strength sap through them, and his swords sunk to the ground, nigh-impossible to properly lift anymore. If he wanted to pull another power attack like that out, he would have to wait until he could find the strength returning to his arms. He forced himself to turn, gritting his fangs as he followed the swirls of corruption towards their source.
It was Jyureimon, but now he looked far, far different. A twisted wraith of pollution and corruption blossomed from its decayed visage, and Isaac knew there would be no more saving for the elderly tree.
The others prepared for war. WereGarurumon and MetalGreymon merged into a more powerful composite form, the Greymon's cybernetics adhering to the Garurumon's form to turn it into a war machine. Cion prepared another powerful healing move, the dents in Isaac's armor and spear wound in his chest each starting to mend themselves. His wrists, however, were still shot. There was nothing Isaac could do but find an alternate means of attack besides his trustworthy swords. It was a shame. While everyone else was ready to fight, all Isaac could do was cope with how harshly his trump card was snatched from him.
Isaac turned to the heavens, letting out a furious war cry as he tried to find the strength to press on. Unfortunately, his swords still dipped to the ground. Fortunately, his wrath at least made an impact. Green lightning seemed to crash down from the maelstrom of corruption surrounding them, unpredictably lashing out at the area around Isaac. It only seemed to intensify as he continued to shout to the skies, the flashes of green lighting Isaac's armor up like a Christmas tree. Such an unpredictable room would likely end up having consequences, as both friend and foe alike would be in the line of fire.
And Isaac's foe, in this case, was an immobile tree. Maybe that would make all the difference. Isaac uses Heavy Storm, the area around him assailed by lightning on all sides. Heavy Storm: Samudramon raises his sword into the air, calling down blasts of lightning before him. They unpredictably strike the area surrounding Samudramon, whether friends or foes are nearby. Cooldown: Two Posts. Trick Guillotine Cooldown: 1/3 Terra Blade Cooldown: 1/5 (oh sweet baby Huckmon)

Jyureimon's Geneaux Mode was a thing of pure malice. Not only had it completely overrun Jyureimon's ordinarily generous demeanor, it had brought the corruption into full view in all its decrepit glory. The corruption manifested itself as a demon of smoke and acid that hovered above the twisted tree digimon.
It didn't seem to mind that Cion continued to heal. It watched with bemusement as the Metalgreymon and Weregarurumon DNA digivolved. They could level up all they wanted, they couldn't overcome the power of his corruption. Indeed, the MagnaGarurumon fired upon him, but the energy was stymied by the corrupted field so that the damage was simply reduced to that of a Perfect stage. It still hurt, however, breaking off splinters of bark from the wooden golem digimon.
Isaac's next attack meanwhile did a little more meaningful damage. Jyureimon's Geneaux form visibly flinched from the lightning bolts, but, again, the corrupted field prevented the decisive blow that was being sought.
"It's amusing how you humans approached this battle... expecting it to be a simple whimsical job like weeding out your garden..." the corrupted core seemed to say. "Well then... allow me to prove how hard that will be for THIS garden!"
At once, the corrupted spirit raised its hands, and at once, the ground below and the surrounding trees burst to life. Over a thousand vines and thorn tendrils burst from the surroundings, aiming to ensnare every eney combatant. If successful, Jyureimon's corrupted power would drain them from the energy would be able to use to defend themselves. And if they cut the vines? Well, the corruption had reached such a potent level that negative effects would occur if that was the case.
Field Effect - Corrupted Wood
- All digimon attacks of any level between Champion and Super Mega strike with the effectiveness of a Champion level attack, on both sides.
- A Red, Yellow and Blue flower will bloom cyclically every 2 turns.

Combat Passive Ability: Frenzied Plant - Jyureimon's defenses are reduced by 30%, but his attack power is increased by 50%.

Jyureimon uses Withered Garden.
Withered Garden - An area-of-effect technique that affects all digimon in the arena. A rush of corrupted vines and thorns burst from the ground and surrounding trees, aiming for any non-corrupted digimon. If they manage to ensnare a digimon, they deal moderate damage and also reduce that digimon's defense by 30% for 3 turns. If the digimon has a means of cutting away the vines through fire, ice, steel or light attacks (including regular abilities with swords, etc), they can prevent this, but in return, they will be engulfed in a corrosive cloud that deals potent amounts of damage. [Only usable once per battle]. Able to be dodged with great skill.
Target: Cion, MagnaGarurumon, Valeria, Koneko, Isaac
The blue flower is destroyed by Valeria. As a result, she will be unable to use ranged attacks for this turn.

There had been many things which had happened throughout a few seconds of treacherous peace, among which were the fusion of Casimeir and Satoshi's partner into one entity and the continued onslaught against the utterly corrupter Jyureimon. Unsure if that name even applied, Cion activated her grappling hook belt to attach herself to a wall of the massive labyrinth as to not be in the way of the MagnaGarurumon's great power. As a paragon supporter, she remained vigilant, awaiting her opportunity to strike ot help out in the best way possible. Especially now with her protective zone gone, she had to be extra careful.
"Human?" The CyberSagitamon asked rhetorically, hoping that the dark force behind the corruption was aware of the fact that she was without any such companion. Not that the vulpine warrior was truly interested in its opinion, but she did not like leaving statements factually inaccurate. And as to be expected, a taunt of hubris followed suit after a short speech, soon leading into an attack that was equally as vitiated as the creature conjuring it. The surge of a thousand vines was both awful and of need of her absolute focus.
"Everyone, get to me!" She commanded at the top of her lungs before pushing herself as close to the friable wall as possible. Unsure of how long the tendrils required to reach her, she waited until the last feasible moment for those who sought her protection to heed her call. And when the time came, she would push her right arm fo summon a large, flat barrier for the rank growth to collide with.

Satoshi was in awe at the fusion that he and John had created, so he was a bit distracted when Jyureimon ended up launching his assault. Cion's call to regroup snapped him back to reality, and he ran to get behind her for protection. "Thanks!" he called out, relieved to be safe from harm.
MagnaGarurumon, however, wasn't as interested in taking a backseat. The fused Digimon definitely retained Gabumon's confident streak, and he made the decision to attempt to finish the fight. As the vines came up, he used his aviation unit to whip around and attempt to dodge them all. Eventually he lifted himself into the air over Jyureimon. Once he was at an acceptable height, he threw away his heavy weaponry. The two weapons disappared once they were a certain distance away from the Mega, being stored away in his data until they were needed once more.
"Starlight Velocity!" he shouted. At once, MagnaGarurumon's aviation unit fell apart into two pieces and dropped off his body. Without anything keeping him airborne, he went into free fall and drew his Magna Blades, flipping and twisting around in the air with blinding speed before finally attempting to bring the blades down on Jyureimon.
MagnaGarurumon swaps Mythril Armor for Starlight Velocity and uses Magna Blades on Jyureimon.
Starlight Velocity (Passive): MangnaGarurumon will remove his armor and aviation unit. Without the weight of his armor, MagnaGarurumon's speed increases by 30% thanks to the sacrifice in defense. This speed boost lasts until the armor reattached.
Magna Blade: When the Strike Phantom and Sniper Phantom are removed, wrist-mounted hilts are revealed. MagnaGarurumon will activate either one, or both, as plasma swords. These can either stay mounted on each wrist or be held in each hand, depending on the situation. The Mega-level Digimon will then use these to slash or jab at his opponent or block enemy strikes.

Like Satoshi, it took a moment for John to fully register what had transpired between the MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon. Now standing in their place was a brand new Digimon, who quickly entered the fray. "Oh wow! This is amazing!"
Celebrations would have to put on hold now that the danger of this job had overgrown like pesky weeds in a beautiful garden; much like the corruption of the Jyureimon and the surrounding labyrinth. Cion's call to join her would not go unanswered since John didn't have to be asked twice.
Like a child ducking behind their mother, the man also took shelter behind Cion. "Satoshi, can you believe this? Our Digimon became one! I haven't seen anything like it!" While the danger was imminent, John's excited smile refused to go away. "The tide's in our favor, now!"

Well, this dying tree surely had a high opinion of himself, Adamon mused - that said, the Frenzied Plant was not something that could be answered with sheer bluster. Cion was quick to draw up a shield, while the newly formed MagnaGarurumon tried a direct assault on the Jyureimon. Having tested the Blue Flower before, Valeria knew she was incapable of launching any sort of ranged assault...
... But that was fine. This corrupted beast was already underestimating them. Adamon didn't even make a move as those vines circled around her feet, a faint golden light surrounding her body as her frame jolted outward. She dropped from her Mega Form, back to the much more defensively oriented ultimate of Koganemon, the golden golem. Rather than simply try and tear at the vines, Valeria simply walked forward, literal tons of weight pulling up and stepping down over the encroaching vines. Where they would try and bind around its chest, the golem would simply rip them in half, lumbering towards the undead tree. As a black smoke rose up to surround her frame, she indeed felt a burn around her metal body.
She couldn't do what she wanted with the Blue Flower, but Koganemon seemed more concern keeping the tree within about ten feet of herself, rather than retreating to Cion's field.
"If we're mere ingrates, then why are you fighting like a coward? Trapped in this garden space where our abilities are restricted - you're really nothing more than a termite chewing on the wooden corner of this world." Her metallic voice rang out, a faint red glint escaping from under her helmet.
"Someone that's afraid of what we are, won't by any more than a margin in our history books." Yup... yup, that was Adamon still speaking.
Well, it was easy enough for the endurance-based golem to try and shrug off the effect of the vines - but between the highly mobile Super Mega and the advanced defensive warriors on the field, Koneka was caught in the worst possible position. Her intent was to clear out flowers as best she could on the sidelines while the rest fought - but in a massive area attack like this, there was little she could do! Cion's call rang through the air, and she attempted to outrun the vines as best she could - but alas, she was caught in it like a thick underbrush!
"D-damn it!" Feeling it snake around her ankle, the feline immediately - and instinctively - slashed out with a claw, only to realize it as a mistake. The black cloud immediately poured out around her, and unlike Valeria, she had both skin and lungs which could feel actual damage. Staggering, she covered her mouth with both paws - filtering the air through her gloves - as she tried to peel herself away from the source.
Tch... at this rate... Ami's attention was drawn on the fight forward. Could they even spare someone, at this rate?
Log:
Valeria de-digivolves to Koganemon to better address the vines. The damage she takes from the Corrosive Cloud is reduced due to Animation. Valeria prepares 'Banshee's Wail'.
Koneka is caught out, and largely defenseless against the resulting Corrosive Cloud!

Isaac's eyes widened as Jyureimon raised his hands, the very corrupted essence of the Labyrinth roaring to life around him. The Nanomachine Zone seemed to fade at exactly the same time, the soothing Digitized field giving way to a writhing mass of vines and roots. He fired up his jump jets, trying to figure out which direction was even up right now. Usually the guidance of his spirits gave him a little edge in knowing where to dodge, but without their words Isaac was left flying blind. It didn't help that the attack basically surrounded him on all sides. Isaac tried to dip to the left, only for a vine to snare his right leg. He tried pulling in the other direction, but now his left arm was snatched up. Each attempt at dodging one vine let another sneak up on him, and soon Isaac was cocooned right in the middle of the battlefield.
He wished he could slash his way out, but his arms were still so weighed down from the corrupted data that had seeped into him from earlier strikes. In addition, he was rapidly learning that Cion's protection left him complacent. The Corrupted Field already weighed defense over offense, so between that and the Nanomachine Zone he came into this battle feeling invincible. Now he instead felt the full pressure of the vines clamping down on his armor, cracks spreading across its jet black surface as thorns embedded themselves in his side. He tried to pull against the vines, but each second of struggle only made it hurt worse.
However, Isaac had a plan. Once the garden stopped writhing to life, he tried his hardest to fly against the pull of the vines. He couldn't quite reach Jyureimon with the pull of the vines, but that was because he was straining himself trying to pull away from force. That was why instead, he started promptly flying back towards the group. He waited until he was as far away from the vines as possible, feeling his armor vibrate from how much he was straining. Then he promptly reversed the direction of his jump jets, smashing forward at full speed ahead to turn the pull of the vines into momentum for himself. As he did so he rotated his body as much as he could, hoping to make direct Imp-Act with the Jyureimon. Would his plan succeed, or would whiplash simply leave him both snared and dazed?
Isaac is hit directly by the Withered Garden, leaving him snared, in severe pain, and his defenses reduced. With no other recourse, Isaac pulls back against the vines, then uses the force of them snapping back into place to try and slingshot into Jyureimon for an Imp-act. Imp-act: Samudramon lowers down shoulder-first, focusing all of his weight onto a blade-edged shoulder tackle. Trick Guillotine Cooldown: 2/3 Terra Blade Cooldown: 2/5 Heavy Storm Cooldown: 1/2

The demonic corruption that was present above Jyureimon's trunk whipped its head at Cion. "Yes, human!" it spat. "Why digimon like you fight by their side is beyond my understanding! Do you not understand that they and their interfering digivices..." for some reason, Jyureimon ended their sentence there. Perhaps out of fear of revealing something important?
As the Withered Garden Vines converged, many did end their trajectories against Cion's barrier. But since the barrier did not cover the digimon from all directions, she would thus be vulnerable to those coming from above, behind and below.
Then was the MagnaGarurumon. While his Starlight Velocity attack was enough to slash through the corrupted vines and prevent ensnarement, he did not evade the resulting corruption with enough precision to escape its effects. Yes, he landed a good attack against Jyureimon, but, not without painful damage to himself.
Then the Adamon. Jyureimon (or at least, the force now controlling him) was beginning to become astonished at just how reslilient these digimon were to its effects. However, it seethed at the insult.
"I am not aware of this 'termite' you speak of, but, as long as you fight for these humans, you fight for the false world..." the corrupted force responded. "The true world has been replaced with this facade... and only our power can restore things to how they are meant to be!" The demonic black spirit pointed a finger at the humans. "And your digivices power that lie!"
He was then interrupted by the spirit wielder, who attempted to rush at him with the force of his vines. Ultimately, the attack was halved in its effectiveness due to the snare of the vines, but it was enough to earn the corrupted digimon's ire.
He snarled at Isaac, then his smokey lips curled into a smile as he raised his arms, creating an effect of the battlefield. The flowers that had always been present? Well now. All three will now bloom simultaneously!
And furthermore, while this was happening, the twin animated wooden bulwarks on either side launched heavy blows against two other digimon. One tried to swat at MagnaGarurumon, the other, at Isaac. And as this happened, the three flowers appeared at three sides of the tangled barrier of the battlefield.
Field Effect - Corrupted Wood

"... Have done more good for the digital world over its eons and incarnations than you and other sources of misery could ever hope to accomplish? Have actually helped others instead of imposing suffering and slavery while gallivanting with claims of righteousness and duplicitous goodwill? Oh trust me... I understood it the first time, and I do it now the thousandth time." Cion firmly and confidently finished the sentinent corruption's inane statement, ignoring that the undead Jyureimon had interrupted it.
It was always the same with these fanatic fiends, was it not? It's their way or the highway; and every means were justified to reach their end. To the CyberSagitamon, the response to this was simple and consistent - cancellation. The existence of these despots was nothing that had to tolerated nor allowed, and the vulpine soldier was happy to do the deed alongside her current allies and companions. The living, black mist could try its best to convince her from abandoning kind-hearted people, she would invariably refuse, especially after seeing what it had done to this once certainly beautiful forest.
With many of her colleagues present, the ancient sentinel did everything in her power to protect them from the creeping vines, but her efforts only yielded partial success. Though blocking most tendrils, some managed to twist and turn around her barrier, attacking those hiding behind it including Cion from above and beneath them. Bearing her teeth as she felt her limbs ensnared slightly, the CyberSagitamon leapt forward to distance herself from everyone else when her shield faded away. Taking in a deep breath, she beheld with both eyes and ears the next events.
"Blablabla..." The armored fox commented after hearing the corruption's 'impressive' speech which confirmed every aforementioned accusation. "A world of yours needs to be destroyed and forever forgotten... darling." She stated firmly and with a hint of ire and pity for such a self-centered, rabid creature. Alas there was no way of helping it other than total annihilation, and Cion happily complied. "Oh no you won't!" The marksmon uttered before taking good aim at the blue flower and firing relentlessly at it.

MagnaGarurumon wasn't expecting there to be such a heavy counterattack from the corrupted Digimon. The vines he slashed through exploded, causing him great pain. On top of that, what seemed like another being lashed out and attacked him, causing more injury. It seemed his reckless move didn't pay off as well as he had expected it to. He skittered back across the ground, unable to land another attack on his enemy.
Satoshi, meanwhile, had been quietly considering Jyureimon's words, or at least, the corruption controlling Jyureimon. He kept going on and on about the Digivices, which caused him to quickly contemplate his own Digivice. He had studied the curious little piece of tech as much as he could since becoming a Tamer, and had discovered that it was capable of many great things, but there were still mysteries surrounding it. Perhaps it was the key to ending this corruption? In a quick test of his hypothesis, he raised the device up high, hoping literally anything would happen.
