Resilient? Hardly - Valeria was simply good at ignoring damage. Her game plan didn't involve her ultimate form lasting that much longer anyway - but a secondary glance would reveal that the smoke had started to eat away at the gold on her legs. Crazed as the Jyureimon's logic might have been, Koganemon simply wasn't going to back down from his words.
"Some 'True World' - its only True if we let it exist!"
At that declaration, the bulwark would swing right at her side, the golem shattering into several pieces of gold - something that should not have happened from that sort of impact. No, this wasn't Valeria shattering to pieces - this was her technique! Throwing away the stability of the golem, the storm of golden shards, interlaced with four glowing gems, raced to surrounded the Cherrymon is a maelstrom of sharpened blades. Should the gems manage to impact, all four would let out an explosive blast of energy at close range - all while that 'cloud' of gold tried to surround and cut the tree to ribbons! From a distance, Ami held her Digivice up towards the storm, sending her remaining Digital Light to Valeria:
"Pour on everything you got! Finish this fool!"
Koneka... well, she wasn't doing well. Left out on her own, near one of the last set of fallen flowers, the Gatomon desperately tried to pull herself away, faintly breathing through her gloves as a filter. Eventually, all she could do was find a tree, sit down against it, and try and keep her chin above the worst of the reeking smell.
Off a short distance away, she could see the spectacle of the fight, but as it was? Well, she was just fighting for consciousness.
Log:
Valeria uses 'Banshee's Wail', breaking her golem into several shards, using the 'cloud' of blades and all four uses of 'Explosive Force' against the Cherrymon. Ami uses her Digivice with the intent of supporting Valeria's last attack.
Koneka is heavily damaged by Corrosive Cloud.

If the smog were fire, it would seem that the group's collective efforts were only stoking the flames. But that didn't matter to John, not with his mind still reeling with excitement from the DNA Digivolution fighting on their side. That excitement would ebb rather quickly, though, seeing how the fighting had taken a dark turn.
Amidst the attacks and counterattacks, Jyureimon spewed words as black as the corruption that plagued the area. John couldn't say he had heard this kind of talk before. Did some Digimon truly feel this way about the partnership between humankind and Digimon? Hearing this conversation was an eye-opening experience without a doubt. The Digital World wasn't a purely radiant and incredible place. It had darkness in it, too. Just like the human world. While some of the others spoke their piece in response, John had his own words which he wanted to relay.
Clenching his fists in defiance to the monstrous tree, John spoke up. "You think you have it all figured out, don't you? What, you believe that we use Digimon as our slaves? because we're human? You couldn't be further from the truth." John eyed MagnaGarurumon. "You see that Digimon right there? His creation...It wouldn't even be possible without our teamwork. Without our love for our Digimon partners. I can say without a doubt that my life has been a constant improvement ever since Casimeir came into my life when I found his egg and raised him. Not as my pet, not as my property. But as my friend."
The man looked down to his hands, only for a moment. "Casimeir means more than everything to me. We have a bond. A bond that will never be broken. Because we will always be friends!" He caught Satoshi raising his Digivice out of the corner of his eye, to which he copied in kind, holding his device on high. "You say your power will save the Digital World? You're wrong! You're only hurting this world and making it diseased! Only together, humans and Digimon can make both worlds into something amazing! I will never stop befriending Digimon and help whoever I can, in this world or any world! We're just getting started!"

Isaac could only watch as the rest of the humans present started letting the light of their Digivices shine bright, basking Jyureimon in what he oh so verbally hated. He had no idea if the gambit would be successful, but he knew the Digivices were quite remarkable devices. If they could sustain the bonds between partners and turn them into power, could they not channel the human spirit in various other ways? If anything, it would at least infuriate the Jyureimon, which likely meant his tactical know how would be a bit less of a problem.
A shame that Isaac couldn't participate. He tried to call his Digivice forward, but only felt a burning sensation deep in his chest. He continued focusing to force it out, but soon the pain became too much to bear, leaving Isaac slumping over and panting from the exertion. "Heh. No luck here, guys," he said, a weary smile creeping behind his draconic mask. "Much as I'd love to help, I'm not one of you anymore. At least, not for now. No, right now I'm part of his world."
And what was the world that Jyureimon sought after? Withered foliage, red ooze, whatever the case it was all the same. The world would be carpeted in a waste that choked out all living things, assimilating them and twisting them into new forms not for their own benefit but for the benefit of the host. Even now Isaac could see it in Jyureimon, with how the noble tree was twisted into a pulpit for a living pile of smog to preach from. Ebemon had made the D-Reaper's grand vision all too clear for Isaac, and as far as he could tell the corruption of the woods wanted nothing different.
"I've already seen what you want, you know," Isaac said. "And you want to know what it happens when all's said and done? Because it's not going to some grand palace to look over the world you made. No, when the dust settles? You're not needed anymore. You're nothing but spare parts for this corruption, once it gets too big to need to rely on you. So how does it feel? Knowing that in the end, you're fighting for nothing?
That's why we're gonna be the ones standing in the end. Talk all you want, but we stand for something. And right now, that something's taking you down!"
Isaac threw his head back, silver hair fluttering up as he shouted to the heavens. His muscles seemed to swell, and the green sheen of his eyes was now a blood red. His sword arms still felt so leaden from the corruption, but bit by bit he started forcing them back into a fighting stance. They still weren't up for using any actual techniques, but if he needed he'd be able to slice up a storm with them.
And that was exactly what Isaac did. Once more he rocketed towards Jyureimon, swinging his swords like his life depended on it in a furious attempt to hack Jyureimon down.
Still snared by vines, and without any means of helping out his allies in their Digivice-summoning endeavors, Isaac grits his teeth and lets his rage empower him. Ronin Rage: Samudramon gives in to his bloodlust, entering a chaotic berserker rage. The more wounded a target, the more viciously he pursues them. The blue flower was destroyed by the lavender furred archer, but the red and yellow flowers were left alone. Ordinarily they would have thus exploded into a rolling cloud of data that would have left everyone immobilized, but, the humans... what were they doing?
"Get those things away!!" Jyureimon's spirit snarled as the light from the digivices filled the clearing. "No! Stop!" he snarled, but it was too late, the light from the digivices combined to form a transparent shield of light around the combatants. The sickly corrupted data from the three flowers was deflected from its wall, nullifying its effect. Jyureimon was so preoccupied with the digivices that he did little to protect himself from Valeria's onslaught, wood chips flying from his body. And furthermore, once Isaac had launched free from his snare, he dealt even more damage to the corrupted vessel.
While John and Isaac's words were treated with nothing but contempt by the corruption, they were enough to make a difference. The consciousness of the posessed, inspired to fight back in his own way, decided to let his words help those that were fighting.
"That's it, children!" Jyureimon's normal voice spoke as the smoke-like demon above him snarled and recoiled from the light. "We digimon cannot fight corruption as well as you humans can! Your very bodies themselves erase corruption without you even having to think of it! That's what it fears! The energy from your digivices hurts it!"
"RRAAAGH ENOUGH!!!" the corrupted essence snarled, vanquishing Jyureimon's inner consciousness. He was beginning to lose control of this one's body. It would not be long before his control was lost altogether. He had one last chance... the other independent digimon. He probably could not take control of these human partnered traitors, but her... perhaps, that would be a possibility. He just needed to weaken her first.
"You fool, you cannot control her" Jyureimon's consciousness told the monster. "Even if she has no human partner, the light within is sufficient to repulse you"
"THEN THAT LIGHT WILL BE EXTINGUISHED, ALONG WITH ALL OTHERS HERE!" the corruption declared, and at once, sent both bulwarks flying at Cion, rushing at her like great hardwood fists. Furthermore, there was a foreboding glow of dark green energy shining in the "hands" of the smoke-like spirit. It was clear that he was preparing something bad.
Field Effect - Corrupted Wood
- All digimon attacks of any level between Champion and Super Mega strike with the effectiveness of a Champion level attack, on both sides.

Combat Passive Ability: Wandering Spores - If 3 or more opponents attack Jyureimon directly in a turn, everyone will receive damage.

As much as John's speech was supporting her in her arguments that the black corruption was indeed nothing more than it seemed to be, the fact that nobody else bothered to take down the multicolored flowers was a bit disheartening. Then again, somehow through the power of the humans' digivices, a barrier had manifested itself to block every incoming floral attacks. As silly as all of this talk about light, hope, pure children and screaming villains, and it was incredibly absurd from her point of view, it proved effective regardless. Though slightly annoying, the talking was well worth losing an ear.
Besides, rendering their enemy into a soliloquizing, rabid animal certainly held its benefits! Exposing itself to the heavy assaults of her allies, Cion wondered with wide eyes why it was her it was suddenly focusing its attention on. Of course she was beneficial for the entirety of the team, but the damage she was capable of outputting was based on attrition - hardly something noteworthy to this embodiment of vitiation. Was it a distraction, explaining that foreboding, venom green glow between its clutches? Whatever the truth was, she knew that there were problems at hand. One of them were the colorful plans, the other was the physical health of her partners.
With her prismatic firewall still requiring time to be utilized again, the CyberSagitamon only managed to come up with two scenarios. Either she did her best to protect herself, or she continued to aid those who inherently possessed sufficient might to vanquish the corrupted Jyureimon. Sighing... she understood what the best for everyone was. "Flowers or adversary - give it everything you got!" The vulpine warriors vociferously instructed everyone with a firm voice before letting her radiant powers do their shtick.
With a snap of her talons, streams of data wound themselves around every hero of this adventure, quickly mending moderate wounds and improving their overall vitality for some time. Hopefully that was enough to assure them victory... and that the launched grappling hooks of her belt were fast enough to get her out of harms way. Getting struck by these wooden bulwarks was a rather unpleasant prospect!

The Digivice seemed to do the trick. The flowers disappeared, and Jyureimon was extremely agitated. Noticing an opening, Satoshi decided to go for the finisher. "Go, MagnaGarurumon! Finish him off!"
MagnaGarurumon was pretty injured from Jyureimon's last attack, but he gathered up enough of his remaining energy to get one last hit in. With a mighty roar, he summoned his weapons and aviation unit once more and prepared his last attack. "Magna Cannon!" Four bullets of pure energy shot out of one of the weapons and straight at Jyureimon. If they hit, the damage would be devastating.
"Go!" Satoshi cried again, thrusting his Digivice out again, willing it in his mind to help in whatever way it deemed necessary.

Tch - had they fallen short?
To be fair, the group was doing an amazing job shredding away at the Cherrymon, but Valeria had put her all into that last blast. Feeling the explosions and the shredded metal tear through the Ultimate, they had managed to tear through the outer defenses. However, that left little solace for the now-rookie Valeria: in a flash of light, the bunny Digimon appeared in midair, gritting her teeth in sheer frustration!
"I'm out!" The tone was flung like one who had simply ran out of ammo. Feeling the stinging damage of those spores radiate through herself, Valeria did the only thing she could feasibly do: landing right on the ground, the bunny dove her paws down, almost sinking head-first into the soft forest soil. She needed to be out of the way of the onslaught, and with Cherrymon fixated on Cion, she had more than enough time to slip underground and hide away!
Ami, however, was not staring at the front of the fight. She had held near Cion, after all, to stay out of the range of the corrupting gas - and though she took a step back away from Cion herself, she raised her Digivice, shining its radiant light right at the wood Digimon's frame!
"Don't underestimate it! We've seen the face of hell - this little flicker ain't going to stop us!"
Log:
Ami uses her Digivice to shine light on the Cherrymon! Valeria, forced back to rookie, attempts to burrow underground with dig! Koneka is immobile!

Isaac landed to one knee after his barrage had finished, swords crossed defiantly in order to protect him in case Jyureimon would have a counterattack coming his way. Fortunately, that wouldn't be the case. Both bulwarks were heading towards Cion, all while Jyureimon prepared a mighty blow for the group instead of actually attacking this turn. Frankly, the energy crackling off of Jyureimon at the moment was terrifying. Isaac could tell that it was now or never, and every second that passed brought it closer to never.
That was why Isaac didn't waste time trying to think of witty one-liners or refutations of Jyureimon's point. There was only one argument against Jyureimon left, and it was coming the second the dark green energy finished coalescing in the corrupted tree's hands. The Digital World was ultimately a land where might made right. Whoever was left standing at the end of this exchange would have to be the victor.
Still kneeling, he could feel vigor return to him as Cion's healing data stream circled around him. He planted one sword into the ground for support, then turned to glare up furiously at Jyureimon. "Extinguish . . . this!" he shouted, thrusting his blade skyward as green atmospheric lightning twisted around it. His previous Heavy Storm had been a mighty blow indeed, but it paled in comparison to the storm currently brewing within Isaac's blade. Lightning crashed around him in every direction, intensifying from a bright green to an almost white color as his Ronin Rage further empowered it. His fury focused at Jyureimon, and with it so did the furious crashing of the Heavy Storm.
There he sat, refusing to break eye contact with Jyureimon as he blade thrust up defiantly. He wasn't sure what would break down first; his storm, Jyureimon's corruption, or his own willpower.
Isaac calls down a Heavy Storm, taking advantage of his Ronin Rage to unleash as mighty of a blow as he can. Heavy Storm: Samudramon raises his sword into the air, calling down blasts of lightning before him. They unpredictably strike the area surrounding Samudramon, whether friends or foes are nearby. With the corrupted Digimon foe being so close to defeat, the situation only appeared to transition into one more dire than before. The Jyureimon was desperate; a crazed beast which was backed into a corner. There was no telling what they would attempt now that its demise was mere moments away.
The light from the Digivices kept the thick smog at bay. Knowing this to actually work, now, John kept at it along with the others who brandished their devices as beacons of hope and determination. Valeria was out of the fight, now, taking cover underneath the soil. John could only pray that it would suffice as decent protection from the corruption.
All John could do now was continue to act as verbal support for the team. "We're almost out of the woods now, everyone! MagnaGarurumon, give it your all! If you have any more tricks up your sleeve, now's the time to show us! Let's finish him off and save the Labyrinth together!"

Cion's efforts to dodge the fist of wood aimed at her would have been successful, had it only been the one. The first she succeeded in dodging, but the second tracked her movements and would have made contact with a hard hit.
But still, with the monster's attention drawn toward her, Jyureimon failed to respond to the other means of attack. MagnaGarurumon's strike ripped and tore at what was left of his trunk, making it evaporate into data. All that was left was the corrupted darkness that had infested him from within. The light of MagnaGarurumon's attack made the demon snarl and writhe in pain, but still his attack continued to charge.
Valeria for the moment was safe underground. But, seconds before Jyureimon's corrupted shadow could focus enough to launch his strongest attack, then came Isaac's blade. The storm was ferocious. The bolts of lightning struck furiously, and, combined with the light of the digivices, ripped and tore at the corruption as effectively as the beam swords had chipped away the wood. Jyureimon's attack finally shimmered out of existence, no longer able to sustain its power.
The corrupted "spirit" that had infected Jyureimon cursed and raged in defiance, but these were just hysterical dying words. Finally, with one last convulsion of pain, the entity froze, then gradually vanished into the air, diminishing in a wispy, smoke-like manner.
For a moment, a shadow of a tree with a face remained. Jyureimon momentarily appeared in his original, purified form. As did JewelBeemon and Delumon, all with smiles on their faces, relief from the hell they had been freed from, before they too vanished into data.
Then, at once, the battlefield seemed to utterly transform. The sick, dead looking brown of the bare wood and thorns was replaced with lush green. Colour rushed forth all through the forest, grass growing on the barren soil below, flowers blooming on almost every plant, bulging juicy fruit appearing on the plants that bore them. The corruption was gone!
Everything in the forest that had been choked and suffocated by the entity of corruption seemed to display its full beauty as the pestilence was erased. And everyone in the Server Woods seemed to now be safe from the spread of the corruption.
All that was left now was for the group to find their breath, recover as they could from the battle, then return to Sunflowmon, where they would all be handsomely rewarded. However, they would also notice that what was previously a thorn-strewn battlefield was now littered with eggs, including three in the place where Jyureimon, JewelBeemon and Delumon had appeared a minute ago.
Cion failed to dodge the 2nd bulwark.
Field Effect - Corrupted Wood has been destroyed.
Enemy Digimon: Jyureimon Geneaux Mode Level: Mega
Jyureimon attempts to use Bloomsday, but has been destroyed before he can use it.
The field immediately blossoms into lush life, the barren ground filling with grass and flowers, leaves and fruit returning to the trees, the corruption completely disappearing.
Many digieggs of digimon caught and absorbed by the corruption now form around the field.

One to go and... "Urgh!" Cion exclaimed vociferously as the wooden sledge struck her by the armored back. It did not suffice to impose a serious wound upon her, but admist the battered walls and wild shrubbery the impact caused her grappling hooks to dislodge, sendling her tumbling towards the slaggy, black ground. Thankfully, before the humanoid fox hit the floor, the avatar of the corruption got vanquished. In the same istance, the vile taint that had tainted this forest vanished as well, leaving behind an area that was almost paradisiac. Unfortunately, the CyberSagitamon had to behold its shortgrassed base first.
It took the ancient sentinel several moments to properly deal with the pain her body suffered, slowly getting back up on her knees. However she staggered, leading her to sit down between flowers and trees to savor well-earned respite. She did not yet know how everyone else would react to this temporary happy ending, but in all honesty she was too exhausted to care anyway. Digivolving, fighting a big evildoer, constantly healing herself and her allies... to say this day had been strenuous was quite the understatement. Fortunately, the result was definetly worth the efforts required.
"But... what to do with the eggs?" She more or less thought out loud, wondering what the best course of action was in regards to the freshly respawned digimons. Cion naturally cherished the knowledge that those taken by that fiend were released to live freely and in peace once again, but they had to grow up somewhere. But wait a second... wasn't the Village of Beginnings nearby?

As the threat of Jyureimon and the corruption disappeared, MagnaGarurumon breathed a sigh of relief. As he did this, the fusion split apart, revealing a conked out Tsunomon and Koromon. Satoshi rushed to his partner's side and picked him up gently, not wanting to disturb his rest.
"You were amazing out there, Tsunomon," he said, smiling sweetly. It was incredible what his Digimon could actually be capable of if he just put his pride to the side in a moment of crisis.
Satoshi looked over at John with a cheesy grin, still unable to believe what they had been able to accomplish together. He wondered if their Digimon could make any other forms together, but he figured these were questions for another time. At the moment, they had to figure out what to do with the mass of Digi-Eggs that had appeared. Cion was apparently thinking the same thing, so he thought for a moment, then offered a solution. "Perhaps we could take them to the Village of Beginnings? I know there are a lot of eggs here, but perhaps Sunflowmon could help us gather up more help to get them transported."

Oh, thank goodness that fight didn't last much longer! With their combined effort, and one last slash from the Samudramon, the spectacle had ended - with one last hurrah from the freed spirits of the corruption, the 'blight' that surrounded the forest lifted itself.
Actually, the immediate nature of the clarity was quite jarring. The fog lifted, light streaming through the canopy, as all that was dark in the woods was whisked away. Ami, bringing a hand up to cast shade over her eyes, gave a chuckle. "Some darkness if that's all it could do in the end, right?"
"Ugh..." Valeria took a moment to right herself, the golden-furred bunny emerging up from a pile of dirt. Shaking off her head, she looked around at the sight - and at their medic, who was slowly wandering over. "Eheh... sorry, guess we got caught up in it?"
"Yeah, yeah." The Gatomon rolled her eyes, lowering a healing paw from her own neck. Indeed, it was only through her own expertise that she was able to ride out being sunk in the corruption...
... But that was a story for another day. For now, what would they do with the eggs? "Just to be safe, I'll put in a request at one of the medical centers to scout the area so no-one gets left behind. If we try and do this ourselves, well, we'll be at it for hours."
"With nothing left in the tank, either." Case in point, Valeria promptly collapsed on her front side, Ami soon scooping the bunny up in her arms. "They're right, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Sunflowmon's got connections with the Mission guild, so let's not worry too much. Especially this close to the center, the eggs should be fine for a while."

As the corruption of the world faded, and the Digimon within the forest had all regressed back to their egg form, Isaac too felt himself regressing. At first he felt a strange heat rise within his body, his black armor flashing an unsettling crimson and the air around his body distorting. Immediately he grit his teeth and squeezed his eyes shut, trying his hardest to stave off the acidic bile rising in the back of his throat. He couldn't succumb now. Not here. Not when he had finally did something good for a change. He clung to his sword with both hands, almost as if afraid that he would drift away if he let go.
Then the red light gave way to white, and the Samudramon's figure collapsed into that of a small Impmon. It slid down the oversized sword's pommel, eventually landing with a faceplant when the sword also exploded into data. Slowly the degenerated Isaac forced himself to his feet, hunched over and clutching his stomach. "Jeez, these things have way more of a kick than I expected . . ." he groaned, looking towards the woods nervously. "If I never have to take another one of them, it'll be too soon."
Of course, with how his cheeks puffed out, it seemed Isaac wasn't done experiencing the kick yet. Immediately he ran to the forest, shouting "Freaking pills!" as he did so.
He didn't come back out right away, but surely he'd be okay. There had been more than enough bloodshed already.

OOC: I'll go ahead and finish things off with an ending now. John, if you want to make an exit post later, you can still do that.
It wasn't long before the corruption of the woods being lifted was noticed. What with the thorny labyrinth that had led them there withering and disintegrating, it wasn't long before Sunflowmon joined them in the clearing. What she saw made her button-like eyes stare with amazement.
"You... did it" she said slowly. She never thought she'd see the forest this beautiful again. Lush, beautiful life was there where before there had been nothing but ugly twisted corruption. "You really did it!" she repeated, a beaming smile stretching across her face.
She then saw the degree in which the group had fought, she could see the exhaustion inherent in everyone present. "Are you all okay? Do you need assistance?" she asked. "I'm not a very strong healer by myself, but I can call for help if you need it..."
But there was still the amazement she had for them. The admiration of her and all of the digimon in this part of the Eastern forest had for these digimon would mean that they would be heralded as heroes for a long time to come.
"Also, I have your reward" she added, and a pair of Woodmon approached from the path she had come, each carrying enough bits to adequately recompense the five of them for their troubles. With that, Sunflowmon would arrange for every comfort she and her fellow forest dwellers could provide for this group. As for the digieggs, of course, they would be transported carefully back to the Village of Beginnings to the West.
But then, in the middle of the clearing, something was happening! In the spot where Jyureimon had been a few minutes before, something was sprouting from the ground. A deep rich green plant was emerging from the ground. Not too quickly to cause alarm, but enough to show that it was a truly astonishing thing happening. Before long, the plant stopped growing, it appeared to be a sapling for what would likely grow into a very large tree. Only instead of its leaves being just green, it bore a luxurious blend of green, red and golden leaves. Sunflowmon recognized it immediately.
"That's... Glasir!" she said. "The sacred tree of the forest! The corruption... it must have been suppressing it this whole time!"
As she spoke, the legendary plant named Glasir sprouted five glowing seeds from its branches, all of which dropped to the ground. If picked up, they would appear to the beholder as green marbles, each with a swirling green energy inside.
"I think those are meant for you" Sunflowmon said to the others. While Glasir was just currently a sapling, well, she knew that it would eventually grow into one of the biggest, most glorious trees in the digital world. And it would act as the purest place of all for the element of Wood.
With that, for now, the quest was over, now was the time to recover from the ordeal.
Thread End
Reward time!
