A dark control spire - oh how much Tahir hated these things and their 'turning digimons into mindless slaves' property. And why exactly did it have to choose the wonderful archipelago of all places? People were supposed to relish their holidays here, not suffer rampant enslavement. The beautiful sun and waves, as well as the colorful flora... nobody could savor them until the threat of the black pillar was gone. To achieve that however, its sentinel had to somehow be overcome. For this task, the BlackCommandramon was happy to know allies by his side. Keeping down out of sight of the frenzied Fugamon, he turned to the rest, making sure everyone was present and ready for action. The soldier-digimon motioned a talon in front of his lips, motioning everyone to remain as silent as possible. They were still in the clear, hence they had time to finally decide upon a plan. Would they focus the tower, destroy the ring which controlled the brown ogre's every action, or simply sacrifice the otherwise likely innocent Champion to have an easier time? Tahir did not know much of his partners, ergo he was open to group consensus. All he was certain that the glade in which their target resided amidst a wall of trees and vines was probably a deathtrap. If they were not careful, then they would be decimated with the prospect of escaping nearing zero. "So... how do we engage?"

John and Casimeir both sat cross-legged together in the grass where the group remained for the time being. Those who looked at them could see clearly that the pair were deep in thought. A Black Spire was nothing to take lightly by any means. Especially if it was anything like the corruption that John and others had to face in the Labyrinth. Would this be the same sort of event, or something entirely different?
The human finally spoke up. "I have never seen anything like this before," John mused in a sagely manner. "But I have faced corruption before. It was horrible." Images of what happened that day replayed in his mind, troubling him for a moment. "From what my boss has told me, Black Spires prevent natural Digivolution." He eyed his Agumon partner. "Casimeir just happens to have an Armor Digivolve at the ready. We never thought that we'd have to rely on it completely, though."
Casimeir's gaze met John's while he sent calming vibes toward his partner. "That won't be a problem. If we all work together, there's surely nothing to worry about. But Tahir has a point. How should we go about this?"
John leaned back in thought. Gazing at the beautiful blue heavens above helped. "Sure. We have an option to take down Fugamon." The human returned to a normal sitting posture, now. "But we could use all of the help we can get. I say we help free Fugamon first so that we can all attack the tower together."

Toki shuddered slightly. He was already spirit-evolved into Turuiemon and hiding with the others in the party. The only time he ever fought was when he first spirit evolved, and he couldn't even remember that. His hands shook, so he clasped them together and took some deep breaths to calm himself down. His first foray into real battle and it was against something he barely understood aside from what he heard when he accepted this assignment. Was he in over his head? Even if everyone was restricted to their Rookie or Armor forms, everyone else here was likely more experienced than him. He couldn't back out now, though. Not after coming this far and after what he saw these towers did.
After he listened to John and Casimeir speak, he spoke up, though he nervous nature took hold due to the situation "I-I agree. We should never hurt an innocent Digimon...it's not their fault, so we have to free them. So my vote...is to focus on that thing controlling them." he said, referring to the dark ring. His spirit seemed happy with the group's choice of action thus far and began to give Toki some tactical advice "Turuiemon says if we can trick Fugamon into attacking the tower during our attempts to free him...then that could make this go even faster." he said.
Toki looked at John and felt a bit inadequate by comparison. He's fought pretty bad things here. "I hope...I hope I can be of some use here...I've never really fought before and I just don't want to feel like dead weight." he explained. It was clear the idea of being useless was something that worried him greatly.
All of this was so stressful. Could he even do the attacks properly? Would he accidentally hurt Fugamon? Would he even make it out of this okay? Despite this, there was a hint of determination in his eyes. The desire to do the right thing outweighed his worries, if only barely. "I'll do my best though...n-no matter what."

Dark Spires. Just the words alone would haunt Dante. His memory about the last time he encountered such a construct was hazy in places. Wormmon had told him about the time he was a part of a team that brought one down after the duo had been separated while out in the Digital World. Dante walks along the shore, with Wormmon riding on his shoulder. His leather jacket and red scarf blowing in the wind looks badass, but it was unintentional. After he comes within range, he stops and stares up at the Dark Spire.
"What do you think, little buddy?" "No way, uh-uh, not again! Not after last time." "I know, Digimon being taken control of is downright disgusting. I remember seeing what happened to you and K. But it seems more and more of these spires just keep popping up all over, and because no one can even digivolve to Champion, it takes a cohesive unit to bring these down. It will make the Digital World a better place for Digimon." "Let somebody else handle the leg work! I'd rather be laying on the couch playing video games."
In spire of the Worm King's protests, Dante marches on. He meets up with some nearby Tamers and Digimon. Dante recognizes one of the Tamers.
"Hey there, John. I remember you from the Spears of Megiddo."
It looks like the standard setup. Big tower, a Champion level under control, just who was doing all of this? It couldn't be Dante's perverted friend Shirou. He would never put so much effort into something unless it resulted in receiving money or affection from women. Dante listens while the others talk strategy. It wouldn't be right to harm the Fugamon. They were likely another innocent Digimon under the influence of an outside source, that being the dark ring. Still, even going into this battle meant they knew the risk of causing harm to a Digimon that got caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"Alright... So we pinpoint the dark ring, and see if we can use their strength to damage the spire. Wormmon, I hope you're up for another round."
"Well, it does kind of remind me of the time I kicked dino butt, only this time you are here to witness how awesome I am. When I get the chance, I'll get in close. This would be so much easier if I could just digivolve! Dante, after this you're finding me some eggs."
"You mean like, to unlock armor forms?"
"What? No, I'm hungry!"

Looking at John and Casimeir, Tahir found himself nodding often, agreeing with every sentiment which had been put forth by the unusual duo. It was true that the dark spires prevent digivolution to a certain degree, putting both those defending and assaulting it at an inherent low level of power. The disadvantage of that was simply overpowering its wardens was not an option, but it also prevented huge amounts of collateral damage. And they were outnumbering the corrupted Fugamon 4 to 1, which was a vantage in itself. Still, as someone who was likely a victim, the lad and the reptilian digimon wished to help it instead of getting rid off it.
Turning to Toki the spirit-wielding Turuiemon, there was not much he added besides approval of the plan to focus the black ring to free its slave from total control. However, there was a suggestion of his the BlackCommandramon disagreed with, which was splitting attacks onto two fronts. "Both items probably have their own, individual durability. Tricking the target into acts of aggression against itself would take a lot of time and attention away from our goal. We should only focus one to bring an end to this asap."
Hopefully, his words would be heeded. Regardless, he had no doubt that even inexperienced combatants would prove themselves useful in the upcoming clash - be it only as a distraction. As for Dante and the Wormmon... they facilitate all previously made decisions. Ignoring the silly banter for a moment, Tahir got back on his feet and unlocked the safety mechanism of his trusty M16. "Affirmative. The target will be that blasted thing around its neck. Know that this means the Fugamon will attack us relentlessly and unhinderedly."
Getting into position, his eyes focused on the holographic scope on his beloved rifle. "I will provide supportive fire from behind y'all. Those who are ranged stay with me. Those melee engage. If you get injured, retreat - I have stimpaks." He instructed everyone, confident everyone knew what had to be done. "If there are no questions left, feel free to tackle the threat."
Imporant Notes: - Combat will begin with John Davis' next turn - To simplify the battle, the Dark Ring will have 72 HP, Rookies dealing 6 damage and Armor Champions dealing 9 damage per attack against it. - To simplify the battle, the Dark Spire will have 150 HP, Rookies dealing 10 damage and Armor Champions dealing 15 damage per attack against it. - As per group consensus, Fugamon has ∞ HP and can only be affected by crowd control effects and debuffs, including provoking it by attacking the spire. - Tahir and Fugamon will act last each round, and I will battle log both. - Please properly battle log your actions after your post to assure coherence.

"So it's settled," John stated rather flatly while he got to his feet. "We take out that ring around Fugamon's neck first and foremost. We can focus our efforts on the tower afterward."
Flashing a confident grin, John whipped out his Digivice, triumphantly holding it out toward the Fugamon. As of now, the pair only had one Digimental under their belt. They just had to be sure that it was enough to sway the battle in their favor. "Okay, Cas! Digi-Armor Energize!"
Just as the words passed John's lips, Casimeir became encased in a bright light which was quickly replaced by rushing water. "Agumon Armor Digivolve to!" His form contorted and shaped itself into a larger more serpentine Digimon. The water dispersed to reveal the transformation's result. "Tylomon!"
"Torpedoes Away!"Casimeir wasted little time when it came down to this mission's objective. From his opened maw, two torpedoes were launched, homing in on the ring around Fugamon's neck; each having a minor tracking system.

He looked slightly upset when the suggestion to trick the enemy into attacking the tower was rejected. "S-Sorry..." he muttered. Of course the idea wasn't going to work, why would it? Everyone else here was far superior to him in virtually every way in terms of experience. What was he thinking? His spirit spoke to him "Now stop thinking like that. It was my idea and they offered a sound argument to why it would not work. You have nothing to lament over yourself...okay?" the spirit said to comfort him.
Toki gulped and nodded his head to indicate that he was ready to go. When Casimeir armor-digivolved, he was somewhat stunned in awe at the display, only to shake himself out of it to focus on the battle ahead. "Focus your mind, Toki...what options are ahead of you? Watch your allies and see what you can do to assist." his spirit told him. Toki nodded and watched Casimeir launch two torpedoes at the Fugamon.
He watched the torpedoes for a moment and gauged their trajectory. Fugamon is deal with attacks on two sides with the torpedoes, so Toki though he would make it three directions by running towards Fugamon between the projectiles. He would suddenly strafe, avoiding close combat for now as energy gathered around his palm "Earth-Splitting Palm!" he shouted as he thrust his arm forward, which sent the energy towards the ring on Fugamon's neck. It would go for a third angle, making dodging even more difficult for the enemy at this point.
The spirit watched as Toki made his judgments. Narrowing the enemy's options for avoiding damage was a safe, good move to do. "Good. Know that you made a sound combat decision, whether it succeeds or not." he explained. He wanted to encourage Toki as much as possible through his first battle. Toki would keep his distance for the time being to wait for the opportune moment to strike. He took slow, steady breaths. Now that he was in the middle of combat, his martial discipline kicked in and he was focused on what was in front of him.

The group was in agreement. They would target the dark ring, before ultimately taking down the control spire. Though it was tempting to use the Fugamon against the tower. As they engage the enemy, Dante scans the area, looking for a strategic advantage. If they can maneuver to higher ground than the Fugamon, they could fire ranged attacks at a safe distance.
Dante carries Wormmon towards the Fugamon, and sets him down before giving him a pep talk.
"Remember, work as a team. The dark ring is the first priority." "No worries, Dante. Remember, I've dealt with this kind of thing before. The Worm King shows no mercy. Except when I do."
Dante gives Wormmon a pat on the head, then retreats back to a safe distance. Wormmon gets his game face on and crawls towards Fugamon. The first two attacks fired are ranged attacks aimed at the ring, and Wormmon follows suit.
"Hey ugly! You've got something on your face. Silk Thread!"
Wormmon sprays a barrage of sharp threads from his mouth, directed towards the dark ring. Wormmon is still at quite a distance, so his accuracy may be lacking. Ideally, the threads will deal some minor damage to the dark ring, while also getting a few strands of thread stuck to Fugamon's face (for no damage.) These attacks would surely enrage the controlled beast, and now that they have used up their element of surprise, Fugamon won't be cutting them any slack. It was a matter of wearing down the dark ring, though how much destruction would the Champion level cause in the meantime?
Dante watches the battle, studying their allies. He hasn't seen Casimeir Digivolve to Tylomon before. It was good having an Armor Champion around to even the odds. Their other ally Toki appears to be a novice, yet capable Spirit User. While he lacked the experience that Dante and Wormmon have, the Worm King was limited when fighting at his Rookie Stage. It was only through strategy and luck that Wormmon overcame the odds in his battles, and hopefully this fight would be no different. Wormmon is going to have to bring his A-game if he's going to carry his share of the workload. ____________________
Actions: Wormmon enters the battle and uses Silk Thread at the dark ring.
Silk Thread: Shoots needle sharp threads at target to inflict damage. Deals double damage if target is stuck in Sticky Net.
Non-Combat Passives: Able to create silk threads, used for tasks such as climbing or other times where a rope would come in handy. Able to crawl up most surfaces, such as climbing up walls.
Combat Passive: Insect Agility: Wormmon can jump, dive, and dodge very quickly. This gives them an advantage against large opponents, greatly increasing their chance to dodge melee attacks from Digimon larger than an average Rookie. (Active)

"No problem! The more input the better a plan ca be." The BlackCommandramon encouraged Toki to be more confident in himself, unaware of the interior dialogues he held with his spirit. But enough back and forth... It was time to put their plan to the test and vanquish the enslaved ogre.Leaping out of the hiding spot, Tahir shot from afar at Fugamon's dark ring, putting in some fine dents into the black construct of digizoid. The now digivolved Casimeir joined his efforts to deal damage from a distance, launching water-based torpedoes at the brown, muscular digimon. With or without the ability to track their target, they as well as the bullets struck the unaware beast and its corrupting chains, causing echoes of pained growls to echo throughout the tropical glade. Their enemy had been alerted to their presence, and as the vitiated sentinel it was it would retaliate relentlessly. While Dante's Wormmon and Turulemon approached the guardian of the dark spire, they did not intend to engage in melee combat just yet. It was from a moderate distance that they shot energy blasts and sticky silk at it, infuriating it further and dealing minor damage as per usual for digimons of the Rookie level. With crimson eyes, the enraged Fugamon bellowed like a frenzied warmonger before hastily rushing towards Toki, its massive, bony club ready to pummel any adversary into bone meal. However, since distances were still vast between it and the invaders, it utilized whatever of its low intelligence was left to increase its chances of victory. Almost as if enshrouded in a veil of gore, the air around its body shifted in color as if under the effect of a blood moon. With every booming step it took in its onslaught, the grass beneath its feet got scorched - but it was not heat which turned flora into cinders. It was the very same corrupting force that had afflicted the one being the group was fighting. It shielded what it claimed, and destroyed whatever was in its way. And so was the barrier, protecting its user and pulsating violently as if it could detonate at any time. Battle Log:Tahir:

With the Fugamon distracted for time being, John found this to be a good time to attack it with a close-range attack. "Okay, Cas! Ram into him and break through that shield!" Excitement coursed through the human's body like a live wire. After all, it wasn't often that he got to see what his partner was made of as an Armor Champion.
"Right! Torpedo Attack!" Despite Casimeir not being submerged in water, he slipped through the air like a shark hunting its prey. The tylosaur gained both speed and momentum during his charge toward his enemy. His goal was to ram straight through the shield and connect his armored muzzle with the black ring on an intercept course.

The scene played out in front of Toki as the different avenues to take presented themselves to him. He took note of Casimeir going for the attack, so he couldn't just retreat or do anything to shift Fugamon's position too much lest it ruin Casimeir's chance. Instead, he rushed towards the rampaging Fugamon in an attempt to meet the trajectory. In his mind he was screaming that this was a terrible idea and he was going to get pummeled for his efforts, but he remained steadfast.
He didn't have a good feeling about the barrier around it, but stood his ground after a moment and attempted to catch the club in the midst of its wild swinging. If he succeeded, he would grunt in pain as the force of the swing still carried a significant amount of force. His feet stayed rooted to the ground despite the force, like he was anchored in place.
Once Casimeir's attack was finished, he would attempt to add to the damage. He would hook his arm around the club to keep a grasp on it before he charged energy in his hand again "Earth-Splitting Palm!" he used the same attack and shot the blast towards the ring, using the force to push himself back when he let go of the club. When he regained balance afterwards, he winced slightly from the pain. He really had to stop tanking attacks from things that were clearly stronger than he was.
Actions: Toki rushed forward and grabbed at Fugamon's club mid-swing. Due to the difference in level, even catching damaged Toki. Fugamon would find it difficult to shift Toki's position due to his passive.
Passive Ability - Stance of the Mountain: During combat, Toki is less likely to be knocked over or otherwise displaced.
Toki uses Earth-Splitting Palm once more aimed at the ring. Also attempts to use the blast to disengage.

Now that Fugamon is engaged in the battle, they would have to be on guard. Fortunately for Dante, he is far enough away from the fighting. After the first wave of attacks directed towards the dark ring proves successful, Fugamon responds with a Berserk Rage Barrier, shielding both the Champion and the dark ring for now. Fugamon directs their attention towards Toki. When Fugamon swings their club, Toki attempts to catch it. This creates an opening for Wormmon to close in.
While Fugamon is preoccupied, Wormmon swings into action, literally. Wormmon shoots a strand of thread past the Champion, then swings down towards Fugamon. Wormmon lands on the handle to the bone hammer, then bounces up and flips backwards, and attempts to attack Fugamon in the face with his stinger. Wormmon lands on the ground, sliding back a bit. If he had a pair of sunglasses, he would pull them out and put them on right now. While it may have been a flashy display, at best it would only deal regular attack damage.
"What's the matter, ugly? Not enough change to wash that tiger print loincloth of yours? It's hard to hit the dark ring around your neck with that big, stupid mouth of yours."
While things seemed to be going in their favor for now, Dante knows that this is a battle of endurance. They would need to chip away at the dark ring, but first they have to disable the barrier. Now that Wormmon is within close range, the Worm King has opened himself up to an attack. Even with his speed, at this range, dodging would prove to be quite difficult. Their only option now is to get past Fugamon's Berserk Rage Barrier. _____________________

Although valiant, the heroes' efforts would soon have proven to be in vain. Certainly they had managed to bring the Fugamon to a standstill, and the damage done to the barrier had severely weakened it, but despite their attempts it lingered in a state of perpetual, crimson flickering. Iko with his head first approaching simply ricocheted backwards, like a soccer ball colliding with a concrete wall. Out of pity, the vitiated ogre temporarily permitted Toki to hold its large club, giving the puny spirit-wielder a bestial yet cocky grin. And similar to Wormmon's pathetic assault and insults, his attack was ineffective.
And to the dark sentinels fortune and delight, most of his enemies were in the exact range it wanted them to be. With a booming bellow, the tanned beast allowed the remnants of his shield of fury to detonate, imposing the force of a great shock wave on all surrounding digimons. Merely Tahir was far away enough to not be affected by the self-centered detonation - and he did not dare attacking from afar for the moment as not to hit his allies.
The Fugamon gave its victims a moment to comprehend the wounds they had not only suffered from the blast, but also from touching it with their attacks. The bony spikes on his natural armor were razor-sharp, and the digital gashes on the three assaulters bodies which leaked data reflected that. Despite their might and advantage in numbers, their attempts had solely led to imposing harm on themselves. However... their misery had just begun.
Still grasping three significant invaders within reach, the guardian of the black spire groaned before raising his arms, vile energies gathering around its weapon. With a violet, empowered roundhouse swing, its intentions were clear - to deal heavy blunt damage and knock back everyone he struck into the solid ground.

Let it be said that charging an enemy with a shield head-on wasn't the smartest idea. And with Casimeir being out of his element, in a literal sense, a portion of his abilities were unavailable for usage in the bout. It was apparent that both the Tylomon and his tamer seriously underestimated their foe.
Casimeir exhumed pained grunts with each blow dealt to his body. The gashes themselves burned like fire and he found himself having to gasp for air with the wind knocked out of him. The tylosaur's eyes squeezed shut to prevent any dirt from getting into his eyes once he collided into the ground so far away from the Fugamon. John was already on the scene, running as hard as he could to tend to his partner. "Cas! Hold on!"
John skidded to a halt and collapsed next to his partner's head to press himself against it in an embrace. "Come on, buddy. We need to help that Fugamon get free of that collar."
Casimeir steadily rose back off of the ground. "Ugh. Note to self. Close-range is out of the question." He eyed the others, during which he attempted to devise a new strategy. "If he was in the water this would be so much easier. But this isn't over!" The Tylomon once more prepared a ranged attack. "Torpedoes Away!" Like before, a pair of torpedoes were sent on a collision course to hit the Fugamon's ring.

Toki flinched slightly and found it difficult to move for a moment. At the last second he dove out of the way of the various attacks the Fugamon had used, but he was still in rough shape from the last attack and the steady loss of data from where he grabbed the club. It was then he understood "Stay spread out and don't make contact with any part of him. Focus on attacking from a distance if possible...and if you have to attack up close, don't crowd him." he explained. Staying spread out would not only give Tahir more chances to strike, but would also prevent everyone from taking huge damage at once if the Fugamon attacked with a wide sweeping ability.
After his explanation, he focused on falling back to Tahir for the time being. He was in rough shape and wouldn't be able to continue if he didn't get treated. Once he was close to Tahir, he fell to a knee and panted heavily "...I should have noticed sooner..." he said. He felt like he let the group down for one reason or another "I wish I was a better fighter than this." he shook his head "But...complaining about it isn't going to get me anywhere. I have to keep trying...for everyone's sake. For Fugamon's sake." he clenched his fists "For the Digital World. Tahir...is there any way to get them to the water?" he asked, pointing over at Casimeir.
