CHAPTER III: BACK AT HOME.
Digital Chronicle #1 (Part 1): Up to the clouds! A never-ending love and Boru and Titania's great adventure! Concern, fear, despair; all of these were feelings Boru the Psychemon was not at all used to have since long time ago, to say the least. He had lived a very pleasant life at Rustport, along with his two brothers: Koru and Roru and his sister Jazz, as good-willing bandits. Without worrying, without crying, just having good times with the ones he loved. Those days seemed terribly far away, as he was now completely alone, running through some sort of jungle, lost and hopeless.
While he ran, trying to think on what to do, supposedly pursuing a giant parrot that had disappeared into the sky minutes ago and he couldn’t even see anymore, he tried to avoid crashing into the trees or rocks on his way, the earth was kind of muddy and the environment sort of hot and humid. Sunlight was starting to cover the small portion of the jungle he was at, as a new day was beginning. For how long had he been running? Where was he even going? The parrot was gone and his two brothers too, he only had a backpack with a weird map he couldn’t even read and a radar that didn’t even work. Was he really chasing that giant digimon who had snatched his siblings into the air, or was he just running out of pure fear and adrenaline?
-What am I going to do? –He repeated to himself as he ran. Was he never going to see his brothers again? Was this the end of the Jazz’s bandits? As questions kept flooding his mind, Boru could only run faster, while the morning slowly arrived.
Suddenly, he wasn’t even running anymore. He was trying to move his legs, but some sort of force was stopping him from doing it. Boru then tried to move with greater strength, but still couldn’t. He could feel like his body was losing height, he felt something around his legs and lower body, engulfing his being. Not calming down, but replacing his previous fear by a new one, he lowered his head to see he was half-covered in mud. The Psychemon then realized he had fallen into some sort of swamp and was slowly sinking into it. He then started moving desperately, feeling like the air inside his lumps was missing. Was he going to die here? He tried to help himself getting out with his arms, but they only slumped into the mud too, making his body sink faster.
Looking around desperately for help, he was able to spot a feminine figure, just resting over the branch of a tree. Maybe they were sleeping? It would make sense since it was just dawning.
-Hey! –Boru called, addressing whoever was there. –Could you give me a hand here, please? –He asked, trying to maintain his voice as calm as possible. Even on this kind of situation, he was prioritizing that person's sleep over his own life, trying to not disturb them too much or wake them up abruptly; then again, he could only hope that was enough to wake them up.

Wanderlust is a very powerful motivator for someone to be somewhere at a specific time. It ranked up equivalently with spite as well as the very real factors of fate and timing in how much...agency it could have over something.
For the Fairy Queen Titania, wanderlust was how she had wound up in the Backup Bayou with little to no direction and had decided to relax on a tree. Watching the sunrise always managed to calm her nerves. Especially during times like these. Of course, the contemplating mood was interrupted, not quite abruptly but still rather suddenly by a voice. Titania turned her head before shifting around to face Boru.
"...Something wrong? Everything okay?" She yawned before she hopped down, her wings fluttering to keep her afloat in mid-air as she descended. A Psychemon...What could he want? The Tinkermon looked him over with concern.

Considering he was not willing to yell louder, the fact that the figure replied with a soft, feminine voice to his aid’s request was something Boru received as a light at the end of the tunnel. Once the creature hopped down the tree and began fluttering around him, he was able to see her better, thanks to the rising sunlight that was covering the place. She was a blonde, winged digimon that somehow resembled a human girl, he had never seen one of those and, to be honest, she didn’t seem at all like one of those who inhabited Rustport. Time for introductions would come later, though, as the horned digimon started to feel how his body got engulfed by the swamp, when he tried to raise an arm to ask for help.
-Ehhh… -He started, insecurely. –I got stuck in here, and I really can’t get out. Could you help me, please? –Even though the mud was almost at chest level for the digimon and he couldn’t even raise his arm to ask for a pull, he tried to maintain a calmed voice tone, mainly to not scare his rescuer. His eyes, on the other hand, couldn’t help but wrinkle, since he was, in fact, terrified. Right now, this sort of fairy was his only ticket out of that quicksand.

Titania was rather promptly surprised by the Psychemon suddenly having sank into the swamp. Yet despite all of this, he seemed to be calm. Okay, that's something, alright. Even if he looked scared...
The fairy dropped her spear, the weapon dissipating into pixels as she moved to help the other rookie level up and out of the mud. Granted, this involved tugging at his horn a little bit to help pull him up before she grabbed him proper. "So sorry about this!" The fairy stated.
Yet this was the one way she could think of, given how he was trapped and couldn't move his arms. Does she succeed?

Being a little Tsunomon, even before the group of three brothers departed from the Village of the Beginnings in search of new adventures around the Digital World, Boru, in one of his multiples quirky moments; decided to name his horn Hare, just to have the sensation of a ‘friend’ being always by his side. He had tried to have multiple imaginary friends, but he often forgot how they looked or what their name was. Hare was a simple name of something that was ALWAYS with him, so his horn became his new friend.
As a horn and a Psychemon, they have lived a happy life, until now the fairy digimon was pulling from his friend, to try to save the digimon attached to it, which happened to be Boru. Even to a digimon kind of dense as him, didn’t take too much to realize the more he moved, the more he sank, so he stayed motionless, as the fluttering digimon tried to take him out. Even though it kind of hurt, it was working! Half of his body was now out, but the rest won’t budge. Even though the fairy kept pulling from Hare, the rest of Boru’s body didn’t seem to be coming out the swamp. He raised his head looking at the fairy, frowning, not as scared as before since now he knew he was coming out, somehow.
-I’m so glad you’re here… -He said, with a relieved yet shy countenance. This fairy was saving his life, and he would be done if she hadn’t been around. –Any idea on what to do now? –He asked, looking down at the mud, still engulfing half of his body.

"Simple, just hold on until I can get you onto solid ground." Titania felt like she was going to have to tap into her reserves to go through with this. "Once your arms are free, try reaching for anything solid. But move slowly, too." The fairy nodded as she continued to pull. Though, she briefly let go of his horn and moved to grab onto the Psychemon's actual body to make this a little less...painful to do.
Things like this made her glad she was a humanoid digimon despite having been the daughter of a Coronamon. Maybe everyone with horns had to deal with things like this?

For the first time since he fell on that mud, or even since last night, a smile took over Boru's facial expression. It was actually working! Instead of trying to pull him out completely, the fairy had started to move him slowly to the edge of the swamp, so he could hold to the ground and get out of there. Even though painful, the method seemed effective, as he finally got to border between the swamp and actually solid ground. The Psychemon extended his arms to grab a fairly large rock over the ground and then started pulling, the rock wasn't going to move, so the only logical conclusion was for the horned digimon to move out of the mud; and he was actually doing it, though slowly.
Boru kept pulling with all of his strength from the rock until he finally felt his legs move outside the swamp, he was out. He immediately took a seat next to the rock, safely on solid ground, to rest. That near-death experience had definitely tired him. He rubbed Hare, his horn, sort of thanking it for withstanding the pulls and also trying to relieve the pain it had been through. The digimon then turned at his savior, the fluttering fairy digimon who had replied to his aid calling when he most needed it.
-You... You... -He started, while still panting. -You saved me! -The exhausted digimon added. -Thank you so much! -Boru slightly bowed to the blonde haired digimon. -My name is Boru. -He introduced himself, regaining some air. -And I'm very much grateful for your help. I thought I was done for good. -To be honest, the horned digimon couldn't think of a way he could have saved himself were not for her help. He then tilted his head, staring at the creature. -Excuse me but... What are you, exactly? -He then blushed, realizing his question might come off as rude. -No, no, no! I'm sorry! -Boru waved his hands nervously. -I mean... what's your name? -He corrected, rubbing the back of his head. Boru realized that was a stupid question; of course, she was a digimon! the stripped pelted one just didn't know what kind of digimon she was.

Titania had done it! She managed to actually save someone! It was a nice feeling. One she hadn't felt in a good while, too. "Ah...It's nothing, really. Just a problem I have. I see someone in need and I sort of drop everything just to help them. I'm Titania, it's nice to meet you! Though I do sorta wish it was under less...muddied conditions. I'm a Tinkermon, as you can probably see!" It was kind of funny how he just asked the wrong kind of question before he corrected himself. Titania wasn't quite mad but she was sort of...amused. A lot.
"So, how'd you get...stuck in the mud, little buddy?"

Boru couldn't help but stare at his savior while she spoke. -Titania... - He muttered slowly. The fairy seemed fairly confident of herself, much more than what could be said about Boru, after everything that had transpired last night. The Psychemon wasn't the kind to turn his back upon someone in need, but he also wasn't the kind of successfully saving someone, due to his clumsiness. More often than not, he would try, though. He couldn't actually see she was a Tinkermon, actually, since he had never seen one before. Which was only logical, the fluttering creature didn't seem like a desert kind of digimon. At least now he knew. -That's right! -The horned Digimon promptly reacted at Titania's question, remembering everything that had happened to his brothers and that he needed to look for them as soon as possible. He kind of forgot about answering to her, since he had kind of go back to panic mode. He started looking around, not really for anything but out of pure desperation, not knowing what to do. -The Parrotmon is gone... What am I gonna do!? -He tried to calm himself down, to then address the blonde haired Digimon. -Have you seen a...?
-Begone from my swamp evil intruders! -A feminine voice could be heard. Boru tried to look where it was coming from. It didn't take too much for him to notice a bird digimon, standing on the branch of the tree where Titania previously was, pointing at the duo. -I'm not letting you to yourself to continue these evil schemes you're doing inside this forest! -The bird digimon, that Boru identified as a Falcomon had an angry, authoritarian voice, but her body language showed something different. She was shaking like an Agumon on the top of Terabyte Mountain. She seemed more scared of them than they were of her.

Well, Titania felt like she had missed more than a few things. "Hey...Okay, calm down. Parrotmon?" What's one of those doing around these parts? "What happened...?" She asked the Psychemon before she almost hecking jumped from being startled by a new voice. After a quick look around, she noticed the owner of the voice was where she previously was.
A Falcomon. Yet, it was the...older variant. The one that wasn't a kunoichi or whatever that was. Actual falcon. But why was she shaking? What's wrong? Despite the authoritative tone she seemed afraid. "...Hold up. I'm not...conducting anything evil. Neither is my new friend here. Are you okay? Um...You can come down here and talk if you so wish. I won't force you. Simply know that neither of us are up to no good."

Pointing at them with his arm-wing, the Falcomon kept trying to scare them off, apparently. She had interrupted the conversation between Boru and his savior, leaving the Psychemon unable to explain anything to the latter. Boru simply turned at Titania as she tried to talk with the recently appeared digimon. -Mrs. Titania is really a pacifist. -He muttered as he listened to her try to reason with the digimon over the branch.
-Do you really think I'm going to believe you just like that? -The Falcomon questioned the two, firmly. -I wouldn't trust two digimon who seem completely inoffensive and well-mannered! -She's actually saying why she should trust us. -Boru tiled his head, confused. The bird didn't seem at all like a bad digimon, just pretty quirky. -That's enough! Get out of this swamp or I will crush you! -She yelled. Boru, who definitely was a scaredy cat, covered his head with both arms, trying to protect himself from any attack that could be coming his way. A couple of seconds later, noticing no attack was being thrown, he uncovered his eyes to see where was his attacker. The Falcomon, still over the branch, was looking under her wings for something.
-Damn it! Where did I put my shurikens? -She asked while she looked through her feathers. -You're not that kind of Falcomon! -Boru pointed, sweatdropping. If anything, the bird was only managing to look less threatening every passing moment. -Oh, that's right! -She said, rubbing the back of her head with her wing. -You didn't know!? -Boru facepalmed. The next thing he knew, the Falcomon apparently slipped from the branch and started falling, straight into the swamp that was below, where Boru almost sank just some minutes ago.
For some reason, she wasn't flying, if they didn't do something, she was going to fall into the mud.

Wow, this Falcomon was...downright hysterical, actually. They really hadn't been doing anything wrong... "Um...We're really not doing a lot. We're just standing here and talking. If we were actually...well, bad, would we be having this conversation?" She told the Falcomon. And then she yelled at them and threatened to crush them. Okay. Threaten anyone and that's perfectly fine. Threaten the GODDAMN FAIRY QUEEN? "Well, you're welcome to try, but not only am I not in a fighty mood, it would also not end that well for you, miss....Wait, why'd you think you were that kind of Falcomon?" What the actual...What? Why was she falling now? Without wasting time, Titania took off from where she had been standing, light quickly enveloping the Tinkermon as she digivolved to Kazemon to catch the falling Falcomon! Why? Because she was definitely incapable of carrying a big bird in Rookie form. And also because mud is bad. Nobody deserved a trip into the mud. "Hang on!"

As light engulfed Titania's body, the fairy digimon changed into a bigger (and cooler) form, catching the Falcomon mid-air, just before it landed in the mud. The flying beauty had moved extremely fast from the starting point to where she caught the bird, being almost impossible to see for Boru. -What the...? -The horned one muttered, completely shocked. Who was this fairy digimon? He thought. She acted without doubting, without hesitating. In only a couple of minutes, she had managed to save two digimon.
-Mrs. Titania is really amazing. -Boru muttered as the powered-up fairy placed the bird on the ground, next to Boru. The Falcomon, with her eyes wide open, simply looked at her surroundings, barely now realizing that she had been saved, also shocked at the speed Titania moved with.
-So fast! -The bird said. -Thank you very much, you have my eternal gratitude! -The Falcomon added, bowing. -Didn't she want to 'crush us' some minutes ago? -Boru asked in a lone tone, almost to himself, tilting his head. He then pointed at the bird. -Wait a minute! Can't you fly? -The Falcomon then looked at the Psychemon with a rather preoccupied expression, seriousness across her face. -Oh... That's right! -She finished with an awkward smile, scratching the back of her head again. Boru sweatdropping right after. -Who are you anyway? -Right! My name is Sonia! It's nice to meet you. -The Falcomon, apparently named Sonia, replied, bowing again. -Who are you guys? And what are you doing here? -She asked. Her voice was much sweeter and soft now that she wasn't threatening to kill them both. Not that she really could, being so clumsy. -My name is Boru! -Boru replied, waving his hand at the bird. -I was... -The stripped pelted digimon's eyes widened, remembering once again how did he get there. -That's right! Has either of you seen a giant parrot digimon over here? -Giant parrot digimon... -Sonia placed her hand over her beak, thinking. -... Me? -She asked with a smile. -I said giant. -Boru replied, sighing. -I think it was a Parrotmon! -That Parrotmon is around here!? -Their new acquaintance turned into alert mode or something. -Do you know him!? -Boru asked, his eyes widening. -It could be. -Sonia answered, plainly. -But first, tell me who you are and what were you doing here. Almost no one comes to these parts of the Backup Bayou lately. -Well, as I said, I was trying to look for that Parrotmon. -Boru explained, lowering his gaze in a sad manner, knowing he hadn't do a very good job. -About Mrs. Titania... -He just waited for the fairy to reply herself since, well, he actually didn't what was she doing there when she found him. He was just so thankful she did.

The Falcomon seemed calmed. A little grateful, too! A welcome change in demeanor, truth be told. The Kazemon descended towards the solid ground in order to deposit the Falcomon there, and once done, she degenerated back into Tinkermon. She had to conserve her power, after all. She didn't have Naoko with her.
...Damn it, she really needed the sad battery? Hngh. Titania turned to face her two...welllll, they were acquaintances now. "I'm Titania, as you might know. It's nice to meet you two...Parrotmon does fit the descriptor of a giant parrot. Uh....As to why I'm here..." Ho boy, this was a doozy.
"I'm on a bit of a sabbatical after having a small falling out with my partner that I'm letting simmer after a talk with both my girlfriend and my dad about recent events that are entirely unrelated to right now. Uh...I suppose our meeting was by fate. Maybe. And you seem to be both suffering from troubles that this Parrotmon might have something to do with. And I don't have much to do...So...Can I help you?"

Surprisingly, out of the three digimon who had met that morning at the Backup Bayu, Titania seemed to be by far the most quirky, and that was saying a lot, having Sonia in that bunch. Titania's peculiarities came not because of her attitude, but mostly because of her background, Boru could tell the fairy seemed to have been through a lot, probably more than himself, who's problems had only begun some hours ago. -H-Help us!? -Sonia asked, sort of shocked at Titania's proposal. Could they really help her? She wondered. After some brief moments of silence, the bird spoke again. - I think you should come with me. -She finished, in a sadder countenance. -Y-Yes! -Boru quickly accepted. If this Sonia had any kind of information that could lead him to Koru and Roru, he would follow her wherever. If Titania agreed to go with them, Sonia would start heading west, deeper into a small set of woods. After some minutes walking, Boru's eyes would immediately catch a set of around 8 extremely leafy trees, with very thick stems. They seemed to have grown sort of rounded up, protecting a certain area. As the group started walking towards such trees, it became more a more clear to the Psychemon that reaching to whatever was inside that fortress, wouldn't be easy. Nevertheless, Sonia started walking around the trees like she was looking for a certain spot. After a while, she made a gesture telling Titania and Boru to follow. Said and done, they managed to enter through a very small crack between two of the trees. Boru's eyes widened upon sight. A small sort of community was actually resting inside this fortress. It had around 5 very small huts, all scattered inside the circle with a huge, gigantic tree at the center. As they went by some of these houses, the sight of a small RedOtamamon coming out of one of them scared Boru a little. -Oh, Sonia. You're back. -The sort of frog had a tiny, child-like voice. -Gero, you're up early. -I couldn't sleep. -The sight of the two other digimon raised Gero's attention. -Who are your friends? -Oh, right. Just some digimon I found around the swamp, they seem to mean well. -Hi there! -Boru raised a hand.-They were wandering around the swamp? That's crazy, I haven't seen a digimon around here in months, other than us. -That's why I brought them. -The bird nodded. The group kept walking, they seemed to be heading to the farthest hut of the area. Meanwhile, Boru turned at Titania. -So, Mrs. Titania... -The horned digimon placed his claw on his mouth, trying to organize his thoughts about everything Titania said earlier. -I heard you talk about your partner earlier. By any chance you won't mean a human partner, right? -That word had been a recurring one between Katherine and Jazz. -D-Don't tell me you've got a human tamer! -That could explain why the fairy was so strong. Boru had seen how the bond with Katherine had strengthened his sister Jazz. -By any chance, you wouldn't know a tamer girl named Katherine accompanied by a Lopmon named Jazz, right? -It was a wild guess but it couldn't hurt to try. He wanted to know much more about his savior's past, but this probably wasn't the time or the place, not too mention he didn't know her good enough to ask her.Trying to know a little more about his recently formed group, Boru turned at Sonia now. -So you're all living here to protect yourselves, Sonia? -He asked while he looked around the mangrove's layout. No other digimon seemed to be around, but it was probably since they were sleeping. -Yes. -The Falcomon nodded. -We're protecting ourselves from that Parrotmon and his stupid friends. So we've been forced to live inside of this fortified mangrove. For Boru, that sounded terrifying. Being forced to live somewhere extremely protected so other digimon wouldn't hurt you, it must be terrifying. -I suppose families live inside of this huts? How many of you are there? -When we moved here, we did because the attacks of that group had already begun. We were 5 families, around 23 digimon. -H-How many of you are left? -Boru was sort of afraid to ask. -Only four digimon, counting me. -Sonia answered, lowering her gaze.
