"I can fly too, but overall I think this is a decent way to pursue our objective." Was Cion's commented as they pushed through the corridors until the whole group found themselves in the spot where the previous chapter left off. Taking a glance around the corner, the silver fennec carefully listened to the responses of her comrades. Kazuya and Royland remained quiet, having no opinion on the matter at hand. Leith put forth the point that they were short on time and would be discovered before long anyway.
Nodding, a faint, aureate sheen engulfed her paw that slowly expanded. "Very well... an ambush it is." She declared as the aura spread to the Flamedramon's and Salamandermon's offensive parts, such as their maws and talons. Instead of interfering personally, she wished to behold what her companions were capable of without her. Perhaps it was true and things were easier if she did not utilize her damaging and disruptive abilities tonight. Hence she decided to empower her allies next attacks with scorching purity. Against the wicked, that ought to leave nasty scars on that incoming patrol. "Ready?"

"Nice." Salamandermon and Flamedramon both took a look at their own bodies, noticing that they felt a little stronger than they had before.
"We're ready," Flamedramon muttered, still trying to keep quiet for the element of surprise.
His response was that his Tamer held up three fingers which soon became two, then one. The final hand signal was a closed fist. Salamdermon moved first with Flamedramon bringing up the rear. "Oil Spit!" The salamander opened his shining maw, and when he did he spit out a disgusting, greenish-brownish oil all over the area and, hopefully, all over the opposing digimon. The oil didn't actually do any immediate damage or have any immediate effects on the enemy, but that was only the setup. It was Flamedramon's to be the knockdown.
"Blazing barrage!" All of Flamedramon's armored points, in addition to shining gold, began to glow bright red beneath the aura. This was a warning that they were now boiling hot to the touch. Hopefully, the opposing digimon would find that out soon enough first-hand. Flamedramon jumped on top of Salamdermon's tail, and the red lizard in turn flicked his tail at the right time to launch his twin right in the middle of the enemy forces. On landing, Flamedramon's ultra-hot boots landed in a puddle of oil. The oil ignited at the touch of the boots, and all the lines of oil that connected to the puddle would light, too, like a flame following a trail of gasoline but even faster.
Flamedramon then proceeded to start engaging the enemy digimon directly. Leaping and striking with the speed and agility of an expert martial artist, Flamedramon tried to get at least one hit on all the opposing digimon. "Whoa. That's not a move we ever rehearsed," Leith muttered to his allies, "but, damn, I like it!" Salamandermon used Oil Spit, attempting to spray oil all over the battlefield and the enemy digimon. -Oil Spit: This digimon spits oil. This oil is highly flammable, so anything covered in it is prone to easy combustion (including other digimon). If ignited, the oil burns for three posts before being consumed by the flame, and anything caught in the flame takes 40% of normal Salamandermon attack damage as fire damage for each post in which they touch the fire. Cooldown: 1 post.
Flamedramon used Blazing Barrage to ignite the oil and attack the enemy digimon. -Blazing Barrage: This digimon heats up his gauntlets and helmet to extremely high temperatures before unleashing a rapid flurry of hand-to-hand strikes. Half this attack's damage is fire damage due to the heat while the other half is physical damage from the impacts and slashes. This attack's total damage is about 150% this digimon's normal damage. Cooldown: 1 post.
Oil Spit must cool down: 1 post remaining. Blazing Barrage must cool down: 1 post remaining.

Kazuya watched as his plan was kind of accepted, which made him happy since Kazuya is the kind of man that loves to always have a plan for every situation possible. So the fact that everyone agreed to his plan was reassuring, him and Royland waited for everyone to make their moves first, since Royland knew that he had limited movement options and he will have to rely on his partners to cover his weaknesses.
Royland and Kazuya watched as Veemon and Shoutmon new forms perform some special moves, but what happened was something that neither of them expected. The blue and red duo made a very suprising and impressive combo, a combination of oil and fire that immediately turned the battle upside down. This combo was so suprising even Leith, their tamer did not see it coming. "Woah that is amazing guys, now we clearly have an advantage. Royland let us capitalize on this." Kazuya said as his partner evolved back to ClearLöwemon and got outside and continue the fight, dodging the fire as he walked a thin line fighting and avoiding being burnt. Clearing a path for his partners by taking down every digimon he could have laid hands on.

Among the encasing pitch, singeing blazes and relentless strikes, there were few options left to the agonized patrol of Rookies and Champions. Gunfire was occasionally heard, but its aimlessness hardly posed a threat to the team of heroes. With the assistance of Cion's ability to warp spacetime and unleash a barrage of razor-sharp downs of primordial matter, their task fulfillment merely took a couple of seconds.
As it was often the case, fading remnants of data lingered in the air like a veil of ceasing life force. It was a sight the restrained Arniomon had seen thousands of times, if not more, leaving her numb on the outside to it. Deep hidden within her mantle of professionalism and conscientiousness, the hope for their absolution persevered similar to a small flame inside a soft rainfall. She wished she did not have to mean harm to anyone, but the digital world as it was gave her no other choice. Hopefully, her cause would change the status quo.
Though the bunker was on red alert, freeing Toki out of his prison cell and tearing through the remaining forces was not a problem for the group of hard-working visionaries. Thankfully, due to the all-encompasing war around the base, warnings were barely heeded. Together with their target and friend, they slipped away into the nocturnal darkness of the forest in which flora, downpour and haste quickly covered their presence.
Their rescue campaign, as expected by the silver fennec and leader of ASCENSION, was an optimal success despite mistakes made and lessons learned.
