Things could no doubt be worse; the foursome had managed to trespass the cave’s threshold, mostly thanks to Mandrake’s timely distraction. The situation wasn’t great, but at least they had cover, and if the Pteramons wanted to do anything funny, they’d have to come close enough to be in striking range.
Not like Junko cared, or knew much about this all. She still wasn’t sure if this was some kind of weird hallucination or something else. Things were just too weird for her to process them with anything other than survival instinct. And that told her than these three were probably her allies and whatever was outside was probably not good news.
“So, uh.” It wasn’t hard to discern the girl was completely out of her element right now. “’Nyone got any brilliant ideas? I’m all ears.”
She had finally resigned to accept this weird reality as her reality. She could think about whether it was a dream or not once she made sure she was getting out of it in one piece, and if these chuunis were the key to that, so be it.
From the spot everyone was at, a series of lasers began to bombard the insides of the caves in a series of pulses, each time aiming at a different direction. “Holy shit!”
The teenager’s first reaction was to move deeper into the cave, especially when her eyes noted that the Pteramons were advancing inside. Maybe they thought they had the group cornered? Not like that mattered. She instinctively backtracked, even though she tripped with something and fell backfirst into the rocky floor. “Crap.”
Why her life had to be like this? The back of her head appreciated being left alone, thank you very much. She tried to stand up, but her body felt way too sluggish. “I hate my fuckin’ life. I really do.”
She didn’t even know the reason why, but her arm just reached to the object she had tripped with. It looked like some kind of spiked blackish marble supported by an octagon of sorts. “Can’t believe this shit’s gonna kill me tbh.”
As some teenager began to wallow in her self-pity, the Pteramons began approaching the cave’s threshold. The group —or better said, Helen, Lothar, and Mandrake— probably had to think fast, even though this wasn’t that bad of a situation, in hindsight. This time, the Pteramons didn’t have the benefit of being incredibly far away to be engaged properly. Even though… one could say that the group was kinda outgunned at the moment, and that they potentially had to take care of a pretty frail human. At least if they cared enough about her well-being; considering how she had treated them thus far, that one one big question mark.

When the human asked if anyone had any ideas Mandrake's answer was cut short by the girl's shout and Pteramon shooting lasers inside the cave. Mandrake and Lothar scrambled backward away from the lasers as the Pteramon began advancing inside. "It seems my illusion didn't keep them off us for long and they seemed to cut off our escape." Mandrake said.
Lothar stood at Mandrake's side and said "It seems in the process they cut off their maneuverability. Though that doesn't help when they have all that firepower."
"Maybe we can damage them enough to get them to retreat." Mandrake suggested.
Lothar nodded and then said "I think our best bet would be to target their weapons." A light blue aura enveloped Lothar's body until a it coalesced into a sphere in the palm of his hands. He then thrusted his palms out aiming for the lasers on one of the Pteramon and said "Aura Ball!"
Electricity gathered around Mandrake as a thundercloud formed above the two Ptermon his intended target being the missiles each enemy packed. "Electro Squall!" Mandrake called out as electrical bolts rained down.

Of course, despite them reaching the cave unscathed it didn't mean they were out of the woods yet, life was never that easy. The pteramons were quick to wisen up to Mandrake's illusion and were already closing in on the entrance of the cave, blasting the inside with lasers.
When the girl asked for ideas though Hel had to do her damnest not to reply with something to the effect of using the human as bait. She wasn't planning on it, hopefully obviously, but regardless she knew that the girl would probably not enjoy a dark joke at her expense.
"It's either that or lie down and die." She replied to Mandrake's suggestion, giving her staff a small tap of her finger, the golden wood staff morphing into a small shotgun of a similar color. "And I might be old but I don't plan on dying just yet."
Somewhat opposite to this reassuring statement however she began rushing forward to face the metallic monsters, staying out of the line of fire from the other two. Once she found herself close enough she'd thrust the shotgun forward, aiming it right at the face of one of the pteramon as she pulled the trigger. The ensuing colorful blast was at the very least strong enough to send her flying backwards, harshly landing back first on the ground next to the other two friendlier mons. She was out of practice to say the least, but at least she could take some solace in that the human wasn't close enough to make fun of her.
Speaking of which...
"Girl! You still alive?! You wouldn't happen to find an exit back there, would you?"
Shotgun Greeting: With a wave of her hands Hel transforms her staff into a sawn-off shotgun. This weapon then fires a small explosion of magical fire with such intensity to send both Hel and her possible target flying backwards, obviously while dealing damage to anyone on the receiving end of the shot. 2 post cooldown.
Cooldowns:
Shotgun greeting (0/2)

How had the girl gotten in a situation like this one? She just couldn’t understand how something that should have ended with some injuries —or an hospital visit, should she be particularly unlucky— had evolved into this situation; being honest with herself, Junko had never contemplated how the moment when she’d die would be, and had most definitely not imagined a scenario like this one. It made her feel desperate; she wanted to cry and thrash about. She wanted to scream, but her voice just wouldn’t come out. She just laid there, in a place she barely knew, with people —if they could even be called that— she didn’t even recognize, and was being prey of a fighter jet mixed with a long extinct flying lizard.
“Fuck this shit.” She growled lowly. In spite of everything, or maybe, cause of it, a feeling of anger superseded everything else as she stared at the dark ceiling. Despite how wrong or alien this situation was, she wasn’t going to curl up and die. Her first instinct was to just smash whatever had caused her to trip into the floor, but she stopped at the last second. This object she could barely identify had, inconspicuously, become warmer and warmer, to the point Juni could barely hold it, yet did it nonetheless.
She felt almost as if pure magma was being injected in her veins and psyche. As a dim, reddish light enveloped her body, the will to survive overrode any other thought that might’ve coursed through her mind. For the time being, her consciousness took the backseat as instinct cracked its knuckles. In the meantime, Lothar and Mandrake’s defensive maneuvers had proven to be quite effective! The Pteramons found themselves relenting as their armaments got attacked, and lost some offensive power due to the fact avoiding the barrage of attacks in such an enclosed space was completely impossible; yet, they still managed to advance, albeit at a relatively slower pace. Luckily, Hel was waiting for them, and a shotgun blast made sure to knock back one of the impending attackers.
What about the other, however? As it approached the group’s location, a womanlet small and somewhat spherical being with bright yellow eyes pounced straight into the remaining Pteramon, proceeded to knock him down under the sheer strength of the impact and then to bite hard on the creature’s neck, all while the Pteramon itself thrashed about in an attempt to free itself from its attacker’s jaws.
In the meantime, the Pteramon that had been pushed back by the female Wizardmon opened its beak and let out a laser in Lothar’s direction. Even if it didn’t collide directly with the Leomon, the cave was taking structural damage quite constantly; it was hard to know when a cave-in would occur, but if things kept on like this...

It seemed things were getting worse. Not only was the cave at risk of collapse but, even though a strange being was attacking one of the Pteramon, the other was turning a laser blast at Lothar. It seemed Mandrake didn't need to warn his friend as Lothar seemed way ahead of him. Watching as Lothar unsheathed his sword for the first time, the Leomon used the blade defensively to block the laser. Lothar pushed forward with his powerful legs while moving toward the Pteramon, When he was close enough, his free hand tightened into a fist and he punched the Pteramon across the face. Whether that blow would stop the laser one would only see.
Meanwhile, Mandrake offered his hand to the other Wizardmon in an effort to help her to her feet. Would his offer by rejected or accepted is the question. "I'm afraid many of my attacks would make a bad situation worse at this point since we seem one step away from a cave in."

Things wouldn't last that much longer, considering the impending cave-in the group would face. Both Pteramons would become aware of it as well; one of them out of plain observation. The other? The other was in a bit… of a pinch, considering his current situation. He desperately tried to shake the MameTyramon off its neck, but the digimon was proving to be unrelenting. Payback of sorts, maybe?
Or maybe, just maybe, the digimon was every bit as stubborn as its wielder.
In both situations, however, the result would be the same. Both Pteramons would fly out of the cave as soon as the signs of the collapse were evident; least to say, one was quite a bit more graceful at taking off than the other.
The good news? The Pteramons were not a threat to the group anymore! The bad ones? Now they had get out of the cave pretty soon unless being crushed by a cave’s ceiling was part of their plans.
Regarding the MameTyramon? Well… she probably had a long journey ahead of her if her goal was to be the strangest lamprey of the Digital World. Some luck would probably be needed, but it was probably one of the better fates that this situation could have had for Juni.
Let’s just hope she’d be able to see it through! [Exit]
