What a goddamn annoying headache.
Junko could feel the cold, rocky… whatever under her body. Slowly, she placed her hands in the floor and lifted her body off the ground. Her body felt like throbbing with pain, but it wasn’t enough to deter her from standing up. “Don’t think you’re chewing more than what you can swallow, girlie? You can just scram and everything will be fine. Wouldn’t want to hurt a lady, you know?”
If the girl was angry before, now her expression was positively irate. She glared daggers at the male. “Give it back.”
That guy’s aura of smugness was almost palpable. It persistently mocked the girl. “No can do. I like this item a little too much to let it go.”
She wasn’t going to ask twice. A fist flew towards him and connected straight with his face, immediately knocking the unsuspecting guy down. The girl didn’t lose a second, and retrieved the stolen item right away. It was then when she felt something… brittle breaking against the back of her head. A bottle?
“Fuckin’ asshole!” The teen hadn’t expected for this coward to bring company, even if it made sense in hindsight; she turned, and the guy behind her already looked like he’d seen a ghost. A well-placed kick in the shin was enough to make him collapse and writhe in agony.
She just spat into the ground afterward, even though, once the adrenaline wore off… Junko found her vision blurring, and before long, she was out cold as well. And that’s the story that preceded her waking up in this place. How those were connected, a true mystery.
“Where t’hell… am I?” The aqua-haired girl wondered out loud. Oh well; no point on thinking about that, right? Maybe if she walked around a bit, she’d be able to discern more or where she was.
If only she didn’t feel like crap though. Or that dripping sensation on the back of her head. Juni wasn’t precisely hype about either of them.

The Valley of Dragons, a place Mandrake had yet to travel in his adventures. Even when he was looking for Lothar he hadn't thought to come out here. To be fair when he found Lothar in the Dark Area, he wasn't too found of heading there but that didn't matter right now anyway. He and his friend Lothar were walking among the craggy cliffs of the valley when Mandrake came to a stop. "What is it, Mandrake?" the Leomon called Lothar said as he gazed around the area with his brown eyes.
"I'm not sure, old friend, but I think I'm sensing someone not far from here." The Wizardmon said as he closed his blue eyes and reached out with his telepathy. Sure enough there was someone and it was a human.
When Mandrake opened his eyes, Lothar asked "We've been out here for hours and neither of us have sensed anyone out here. Which is strange considering most parts of the Digital World are full of life of some kind."
"I know and that's why sensing this human is such a concern." Mandrake replied.
Lothar didn't need to ask Mandrake what he planned next for the two of them seemed to be of one mind on this matter and headed for the direction of the human Mandrake sensed. Soon a scent was picked up on the wind that concerned Lothar and he said "Mandrake I smell blood. Who ever this is seems to be hurt." It seemed since Lothar had digivolved from Elecmon he had gained a more acute sense of smell which could prove beneficial in future adventures.
Soon the duo came upon a human girl with aqua blue hair and deciding to try to help her. Moving slowly so as not to potentially frighten her Mandrake, with Lothar moving not far behind, walked toward the girl and said "Hello there, what happened to you? If you don't mind, my friend and I can help you."

What she felt first and foremost was the sunlight bearing down on her eyes, the glow practically forcing her eyes open and awakening her from her deep slumber. There was a clear moment of disorientation when the skyline she was met with was rather...barren. No tall building in sight to speak of, none of those flying machines cluttering the sky. Just the deep blue nothingness with the odd cloud to break the endless blue void.
To compound the confusion what she felt resting herself on was most obviously not the park bench she had chosen as her makeshift bed for the day. Whatever she was resting on felt rockier, colder...and was clearly not at ground level, as she could see small walls next to her. She was for all intents and purposes sleeping in a hole on the ground. The solid, very uncomfortable ground.
"...again?.." Was all she could mutter out, not with disbelief, but rather an accepting, resigned tone of voice. This was an all too common occurence for her these days, it seemed. The wizardmon tried to shove her face into her hat to block out the sun and continue sleeping, perhaps in the vain hope she'd awake in the same place she had gone to sleep a while ago.
No such luck however, as she soon heard the distinct sound of voices not too far from her. None of them aimed in her general direction however, so it was likely neither of them knew she was there, somehow. Either she had managed to hide herself really well in her sleep...or the most likely explanation, she had just arrived to this place.
Whatever the case, she'd pointlessly try to ignore the noice happening somewhat close to her position, but to no avail. Annoyed, she'd peek her head out from her small hole, and glare (or rather half sleepily squint) daggers at the other humanoid figures speaking close ish to her little hole. Human? Digimon? She couldn't really tell at a glance...
"Could you three please keep it down?" At least she assumed there were three of them, in her half awake half asleep stupor it was kinda hard to tell shapes apart. "...not everyone is a morning person...it is morning, right?"

Ugh. The mere act of trying to move her body forward felt like an absolute slog for Juni; she felt kind of dizzy, and the worst part is that she had a good idea why; still, she didn’t dare to bring her hand to the back of her head for one simple reason. Her hands were pretty dirty, and ruining her hair risking to infect a wound could make things worse than what they were at the moment. A situation without a winner, for sure; oh well, at the very least, she was able to wipe away the dirt and dust out of her jersey.
What was this place, anyway? It looked like some sort of canyon that was surrounded by huge rock formations, no matter where she looked. At least at plain sight, this didn’t seem like Tokyo, even though she could be inside a pretty weird theme park? It was pretty hard to know.
It wasn’t long before two beings approached her, though. Both the Wizardmon and Leomon would be able to discern a human that was notably worse for the wear; a recollection of bruises dotted her face and arms, yet none seemed to be too serious. In all honesty, it was both a good and a bad thing that Junko wouldn’t be alone for long. Good thing because at least she knew she wasn’t alone wherever she was. Bad, mostly because...
“T’fuck are you two.” There was an implicit threat in the girl’s one. What else was expected, when you were faced by a giant lion dude and something…? that seemed to have sprung out from a Mary Shaw movie. In any case, she just kept on walking, seemingly ignoring their presence. “Don’t need no help from a pair of weirdos. Thank ya a lot, but I’ll pass.”
It was then when, seemingly out of the blue and from a place that nobody expected, another voice spoke. Juni winced from the surprise, letting out a short, pained gasp as she looked in the general direction where the words came from, just to stumble upon… another Mary Shaw-esque freak. Was a remake going to be released soon, or something?
“You can do me a favor tho.” The girl’s tone was surprisingly even. “And fuck off.”
She sure wasn’t in the mood to deal with this shit.

Shortly after Mandrake and Lothar found an aqua haired human another presence was sensed by Mandrake. The injured girl had the Wizardmon's attention more as his blue eyes widened momentarily at the language she addressed him with. Handing Lothar his staff, Mandrake approached slowly while trying to indicate he meant no harm before he said "Now there's no reason for such hostility. My friend and I mean you no harm and, with all due respect, humans like yourself are strange to digimon. My name is Mandrake and the Leomon accompanying me is my friend, Lothar. I only wanted to ask if I could try to use my healing ability to help you."
As a second voice spoke its anger it seemed more than obvious that Mandrake and Lothar had unwittingly stepped into a potential hornet's nest. The trick was how to diffuse things before more trouble occurred. Lothar stood silently nearby while flicking one of his ears as he was obviously keeping an ear out for any potential trouble since his friend was distracted with an injured and angry human.

Truth be told, the witch wasn't expecting the others to actually listen to her pleas and speak at a lower volume, but it didn't hurt to try. What she really wasn't expecting was for the blue haired girl to retaliate so aggressively. There was a tense silence as Hel found herself on the receiving end of some rather uncalled for and scathing words. Rather than retaliate with a burning remark of her own however, she merely let out a sigh, massaging her temples for a moment before staring back at the human in the eye.
"Nice to meet you too. If that's your way of talking to strangers it's no wonder someone decided to open up your head like that." The witch replied, a vague hint of annoyance on her otherwise deadpan voice. She gave the girl a closer look up and down, before doing the same with the other two, as if mentally taking notes about them.
"...human." She said that in a tone that made it a bit unclear if she was adressing Juni or merely stating her species aloud so her still foggy brain wouldn't forget. "You should probably listen to them. Having your head leaking is bad for your kind in the long run. And the short run too."
Though after saying just that she'd spare a glance in the other wizardmon and leomon's direction and say in a considerably less deadpan but still mostly tired tone, "Or you could leave her to her own devices. Hardly seems worth it to help someone that's not willing to ask for it." She shrugged, clearly not noticing (or caring) that Juni could hear her just fine. Apparently Hel was too tired to even bother with whispering herself.

This situation was managing to further fray Junko’s already worn nerves; she tried to massage her temples before wincing with pain at the contact and deciding to abandon such a dumb idea.
“I’m tired of this crap. Look, I get what’s happenin’ ’ere.” She said, her tone sounding unenthused and bored. “I know y’re with the asshole whose face I fixed with my fist alright. It only makes sense; he's a coward like that.” Recalling her past situation wasn’t that hard. She knew she had passed out while kicking their asses, but the fact remained that she had lost consciousness while dealing with people who had no qualms to hurt her.
“I have no fuckin’ idea why he threw me in this hellhole wit’ two chuunis that think dressing as cheap copy of a Mary Shaw doll is the shit 'n a dude in a lion fursuit, but I know that y’re up to no good.” She made a small pause, the anger on her tone growing visibly. “I’m not gonna fall for the good cop slash bad cop bullshit act. Gotcha?”
That much was obvious enough; they were the reason why she was injured in the first place. “So, just goddamn drop it. If ya wanna beat the shit outta me, bring it on; if not, just fuck off.”
She took a moment to offer a glare at the chuuni farther away from her. “Or at least make her shut the fuck up. Had my fill of condescendin’ bitches earlier. Don't need no more pricks for the day.”
A couple dozen of seconds or so after Junko was done speaking, a screech could be heard at the distance, not unlike what one would expect from a bird of prey, except this version was considerably lowder, and somewhat... mechanical in nature. The teenager stared in the general direction from where that sound came, her expression blank.
“What the hell was that.” It was an idle question, directed at nobody in particular. Not like she expected an answer to it, anyway. This just wasn't her day, was it?

Mandrake shared a confused look with Lothar and the lion digimon merely shrugged obviously just as confused as him before he turned back to the aqua haired girl. The female Wizardmon's lack of empathy was concerning but his worry was more the human. "What are you talking about miss? If any of us meant you harm don't you think we would of attacked you already? I'm afraid these aren't costumes. This is how we truly look."
Suddenly Mandrake sensed an oncoming presence and seconds later Lothar flicked his ears which indicated he heard the screech brief seconds before everyone else. Mandrake and Lothar had turned in the direction of the screech and then the blue eyed Wizardmon said "It seems things might not stay quiet for long. One can only hope this newcomer is of the friendly sort."
Judging by Mandrake's and Lothar's luck since they reunited they were both concerned but one could always hope for the best. Readying for action Lothar tossed Mandrake's staff back to him the magician snatching out of the air with his telekinesis causing the staff to float gently into his waiting hand.

Well, for someone with a head injury that human sure had a lot of energy to throw around with insults and off color remarks, now did she? Hel would have been impressed if she wasn't partially envious of it. There she was, bleeding from the head and still fighting to the bitter end, while Hel was still struggling to not yawn. What she did get from her tirade was quite easy to picture: clearly she had gotten into some sort of scuffle with the wrong people, and she was afraid someone would come to finish the job. Well...at least she assumed she was afraid, it was hard to tell beneath all the barely concealed angry mannerisms.
"You know if you have a problem with someone it's usually better to tell them yourself." She finally said, quite matter of fact. There was admitedly the smallest hint of enjoyment to be found out of annoying someone that was this incredibly rude, but she still barely raised her tone above the quiet deadpan delibery fitting of someone that also felt like a truck had ran her over several times. She almost felt compelled to add something about how hypocritical it was for the human to want Hel to shut up, considering that had been literally the first thing the witch had asked of them.
Also the question of what in the seven hells a chuuni was, but she figured the blue haired human was probably not feeling up for sharing that info. She cocked her head in the direction of the other wizardmon as he tried telling the girl about the reality of her situation.
"He's right you know. If me or them wanted to rough you up we'd probably have done so without asking...well, I would have kneecapped you but details. I'm afraid I don't know this person you speak off, but I'm guessing you probably managed to piss them off quite a bit. Can't possibly imagine how..." Again, nothing but the smallest hint of sarcastic wit in her otherwise tranquil voice.
She would have probably kept going, until their tense back and forth was interrupted by the metallic screech of something. Something big. Hel couldn't really share Mandrake's optimism, letting out a long groan that could only be described as the wordless version of "Why me?"
"I wouldn't keep my hopes up." With that she'd get out from her little hole, dusting herself off in the process before making a quick scan of their surroundings. She couldn't quite see what had made that sound, but what she could see was just how...barren everything around them was. Not a tree in sight to hide behind or under. They were quite exposed, truth be told. One could really only hope what the other wizardmon said held true and whatever was out there would be friendly. Or at least disinterested on them.
"If you value your life human, I'd suggest you to stay close." She said, her tone no longer simply deadpan or tired, not even sarcastic. It was firm, much like her stance, feet firmly planted on the ground, hands hanging ready at the sides of her body. This day just kept getting better and better, didn't it...

This was beginning to get supremely irritating. If she had already exposed them, then why did they insist on keeping up the act like a group of condescending pricks? Junko felt her intelligence insulted at the mere implication.
“I wish I knew why y’re still tryna pull this shitty act.” There was anger lingering in her tone, almost as if she were about to just step forward and deck the weirdo in front of her in the face. Or the smartass girl, preferably; any would do if only for the purposes of making her less frustrated with this situation, in all honesty.
“Are ya really gonna insist on the chuuni bullshit and keep on sayin’ that’s how you really are? Holy shit.” Yep, her patience was wearing thin. “Jus’ go away to chant t'yer god or somethin’. Especially if it gets that bitch outta my face ’fore I do it m’self.”
One could say that ignorance is bliss, but that saying probably didn’t apply if one had a contusion of questionable severity in the back of their head. In any case! The screeching sound increased in intensity, and even… in frequency? For anyone that wasn’t an ignorant human, that’d mean their company was more than one digimon. In this case? It was two Pteramons approaching from different directions, even it was quite obvious they were after the group congregated there.
The two Mary Shaw puppets seemed to be pretty preoccupied in regards to those events, all while… the appearance of the mecha-pteranodons just served to increase the teenager’s anger.
“So that asshole couldn’t stand being unable to see the show, huh?” Now it made sense why the weird chuunis were buying time; just so the dude could film having the crap beaten outta her with a pair of fancy drones.
Just as she was about to dash in the male wizard’s direction to punch him in the face, the two pteramons began to drop small capsules through the terrain where the group stood, effectively strafing through the area as a series of explosions littered the battlefield. Basically, they were carpet bombing the hell out of the where their prey was.
“The fuck…” That was when Juni’s brain decided to shut down, just as she stared at the spectacle. Sure, there were some mental gymnastics involved in her words regarding what was happening, but she just couldn’t explain this. There was no way her mind could justify what was happening. Except… “I must be trippin’ like the world champ.”
Was this situation even real? Right now, it was hard to tell. Maybe she had been drugged, or maybe she was dreaming of a pretty edgy version of Narnia, or something.
She didn’t know anymore, really.

It seemed reasoning with her was going to be near impossible given she seemed to be acting more hostile. Whether it was from fear or not neither Mandrake or Lothar knew. Then Mandrake sensed another digimon and shortly after a second screech was heard. Two Pteramons flew into view and began strafing the area while dropping bombs. Mandrake looked at the human and shouted "Get Down!" Mandrake then dashed forward knocking the human girl down and used his own body to shield hers.
Lothar, meanwhile, began charging power into his fist. "Fist of the Beast King!" he yelled as a pale blue energy in the shape of a lion's head burst forth from his fist as he threw a punch toward the digimon bombing them. Not waiting to see if his attack hit, he looked at where Mandrake was laying and asked "Mandrake, are you alright?"
The blue eyed Wizardmon groaned in response as he said "Yes. Somehow I'm still in one piece." He then looked down at the human he was shielding and asked "Are you alright, Miss?"

Of course there would be two Pteramons. One would have been far too manageable for them to handle. And as expected by now, the blue haired girl was either in the denial or too dense to understand what was going on. Hel had to give it this much, at least she was stubborn. But seriously now, drones? Chuunis? What was this human going on about now? "You're a dense one, aren't you." Either that or that head wound went deeper than it seemed! Regardles this was hardly the time to continue engaging the human in a sass battle, there were more pressing matters at hand. Like the angry metallic birds currently bombarding their near vicinity. Luckily for her the other two seemed preoccupied enough with protecting the human, so that at least meant she could worry about her own hide for the time being. As such she went prone, trying to hide her small body close to her little hole from before, one hand grasping tighly at her hat so it wouldn't be blown away by the blasts. She was shaken yes, but still in one piece for now. And now fully awake, with would be a plus if it weren't for the tinnitus her ear was now experiencing. Great, just great. There wasn't much else she could do at the moment, other than taking out a small flintlock looking weapon from under her cape and firing a quick round of sparkling energy at the birds above. Even if it hit it would probably do little, considering the clear difference in strenght between them, but it was more dignified than waiting quietly for them to return fire again. "We're sitting ducks here, we have to get outta dodge, now!"
Possibly relevant fighty stuff(?)
(Combat Passive) Curved Bullets: If a projectile of hers reaches her target it will bounce and ricochet inside their body in the case of bullets, or repeatedly hitting them from the outside before detonating in the case of explosives. Regardless of the projectile use it’s still a blatant disregard for any kind of law of physics, and it also deals twice the damage of the original attack to boot. However, because this requires far more energy and mental concentration from her than simply shooting someone, it can only be triggered once every three turns.
Bang: Hel summons a small flintock pistol and fires a magically imbued projectile at the enemy, dealing damage. Simple but efficient. 1 post cooldown.

The inexplicable nature of this situation was doing wonders to frustrate Junko more than what she already was. She was convinced that this was some kind of strange, narcotics-induced hallucination. Yet… why did it feel so real? Why was she lucid enough to process that a duo of what was veritable mix between a plane and a pterodactyl was bombarding them? And most importantly, why did she feel like she wanted to bite their heads off? Her first instinct would’ve been wanting to punch or kick them, not something that was arguably not as practical.
She didn’t have a lot of time to think about it, anyway; from one moment to the next, she was thrown into the floor by one of the Mary Shaw dolls and promptly shielded by the part of the bombardment. Ultimately a good thing, considering that she probably would’ve been a lot worse from the wear if those things had hit her. Yet… why did the others manage to withstand them so well? Were these things even human? Those, and many more seemingly unanswerable questions swirled through her mind at least until Mandrake’s sudden question managed to make her snap out of it.
“Y-yeah. I’m fine; thanks dude.”
Despite her not understanding shit about what was happening, on thing was obvious; those crazy bird hybrids were harassing them from too far above to be concerned at the meager attempts of a counteroffensive the group was undergoing. Was there anything that could be done about it? Hard to tell, considering their location, even if… amidst the explosions caused by the Pteramons, the vague shape of a cave could be seen at the distance.
“We shoulda go ther!” Juni shouted while pointing there. They’d have to break into a sprint to reach it before the next strafing run, but everyone seemed to be pretty healthy. No prob right? Despite her body feeling impossibly sluggish, adrenaline had already kicked in the girl’s system, and as soon as she got from under the guy who had shielded her, she began to advance towards that direction as fast as her legs could carry her.

It could have easily been worse. At least the blue haired girl didn't lash out at him. Heck, she seemed calmer than earlier but who knew if she would freak out again. The other Wizardmon, judging by the energy she gave off, seemed to be a rookie which was not an unheard of concept. This female Wizardmon seemed to have a different approach when it came to fighting as well. Why did it have to be two flying enemies, Mandrake had been having bad luck with opponents recently.
While he was dwelling on that the blue haired girl had mentioned she was alright and suggested they hide in a nearby cave. Doubting such a cave would provide much cover without distraction, Mandrake got up and faced in the direction of the Pteramon. "Lothar, run for the cave with the others! I'll catch up momentarily." Mandrake exclaimed. Lothar seemed hesitant but nodded. Hopefully the others would go for the cave as well.
Waving one hand while clutching his staff tightly in the other Mandrake said "Magical Game!" The illusion of a stone wall appeared in front of Mandrake and hopefully the illusion would slow the Pteramon down long enough for himself to make it to the cave as well. Illusion in place Mandrake sprinted for the cave with the others.
Upon making it inside he said "When they figure out what I did was a mere illusion I don't know how persistent they'll be in hunting us down so maybe we should stay away from the entrance to the cave."

If there was any positive to this current predicament, it was the fact that the human's rage and generally abrasive disposition seemed to have been pretty much silenced as soon as the first bomb dropped, even managing a thank to the digimon risking their hide to protect her from the bombardment. A small silver lining in an otherwise rather bleak scenario.
"Tch..." The wizardmon grit her teeth as her gaze turned in the direction the girl said, her eyes meeting the entrance to the cave promising some amount of cover from the Pteramons. Well, she didn't need to be told twice to follow after the others and make a beeline for the cave without a second's hesitation. She cursed under her breath for not being able to do much else to make those insuferable birds lose their track, but otherwise didn't stop for anything, only hoping Mandrake's distraction would buy them enough time to get to the cave otherwise...
...well she really rather not think about the possible alternative.
