Our Perfect Appreciation (Toki)

The Moonblossom Monastery... once an ancient ruin belonging to someone whose name time had forgotten, it now served again a righteous ambition. Although this newcomer in particular knew little of its proprietors' exploits, she was at least aware that they carried within them radiant hearts. The traveler's too were a small group, similar to the knights, who had dedicated themselves to protecting the people of the digital realm in their own, unique way. And while she considered them too idealistic, pacifistic and altruistic, she had to admire their virtuousness and integrity. Nevertheless, facing the status quo was a cause she could no longer selflessly devote herself to. However, Cion had not come here to pass judgment, nor to provide feedback and counsel. In fact, if it had not been for the wishes and preferences of the cherished individual she had intended to extend and invitation to, she would not have set foot on this archipelago in the first place. Being reverse-invited like this was quite the oddity to the silver fennec of seldomly witnessed power, but who was she to deny the requests of a distant yet dear friend?Besides, it gave her more moments to contemplate on the tales she wished to share with him. Clad in a silken, rose golden kimono that accentuated her graceful frame and aureate eyes - which seemed most appropriate for the occasion and location - her calm gaze lingered on the singular tree that presided over the local cliff. It was not but a mere rendezvous, but a witness of historic events... not unlike her. The present radiance and natural beauty were without doubt balm to the soul, even for a so often agitated and aspiring spirit such as hers. Fortunately, she was capable of enjoying the mild, autumnal breeze which gently tousled the hair of her body, pelt and tail. On the outside, the unassuming ascendant bore the same poise and composure as always. The reflection on the inside though did not fully resemble this sophistication. This was something Mr. Akiyama had learned already more than a year ago. It was this fateful night which had finally brought her back into his presence. It was but fair that she told him what had happened since she had received his sympathy. Moreover, perhaps the day had arrived to return this act of amity in kind. Admittedly, she was not sure, which was why she had decided to simply approach this situation like any other... ...with a maelstrom of thoughts raging in her mind.

The entrance to the main plaza of the monastery was open to all visitors. At the entryway to the building, Toki stood awaiting Cion alongside Aylin. The Lunamon was excited to meet the Digimon that has assisted Toki throughout the years "You said it's been a while since you've last seen each other, right Toki? We should make some of our best tea! It's the least we can do for having her come all this way."
Toki nodded "Once she gets here we'll get the tea started. Yeah it's...been a while. She tends to be rather scarce unless it's something important that needs to be done. I hope the advice I gave her all that time ago was helpful." He said with a sigh.
Aylin frowned and pat at him "Hey hey, let's not worry about that. I'm sure she's okay! If not, we'll talk things out like always. Okay?" She said as she smiled cheerfully up at him.
Toki smiled and leaned down to pick Aylin up and place her on his should "You're right! You always know what to say, Aylin...thank you." He rubbed her head gently as she giggled happily. Aylin was Tsusagimon's daughter, and as such Toki began to feel a similar sort of relationship with her as of late. He viewed her as family. Someone to count on no matter what.
Despite how long it took for them to form the Travelers and repair the monastery, Toki was positive that he, Aylin, and everyone else would be able to change things for the better one step at a time. Their actions may not bear fruit in their lifetimes, but that wasn't going to deter him. Though he was also living for himself now, as well. There was a time he felt burned out because he always saw his health and safety as secondary to everyone else's. He came to realize that he had to properly care for himself as well if he ever hoped to care for everyone else. That was part of the reason he began forming his team. There were things he could not do on his own, and he was also simply tired of being alone in his endeavors. Now he was surrounded by friends new and old, and he was ready to do what he had to and enjoy his life going forward.
"We'll have to ask her what kind of tea she prefers. Maybe we should break out some of the sweets, too." Toki mused as he paced back and forth. "I feel a little bad that due to our work here I had to ask her to come all the way here, instead. Thankfully she seemed understanding of the situation. I just want to make sure the newcomers are getting well adjusted to living here."
"I'm sure they are. Some of them seemed a little nervous like Shade and Makoto, but they ultimately seemed to appreciate what you've built here and that you've given them a place to stay. I hope they like it here..."
"Oh I'm sure they will. If they don't and they decide to part with us, they're free to do so. In the meantime, I'm just glad people are interested in what we're doing here."

"Huh..." Escaped her lips eventually as Cion felt patience fade for inquisitiveness and pleasant anticipation. The autumnal sun was at its peak, yet despite minutes passing her host had not yet arrived. They had agreed upon making themselves comfortable in the shade of the great tree which had defied and prevailed through indescribable hardships, not? Was this perhaps a misunderstanding, and the endearing lad was actually awaiting her in the monastery's center? It was a possibility, and maybe she should have simply taken the main entrance instead of hovering along the shore and cliff. Oh well, sneaking a peek would not hurt.
And indeed, as she reached the stairway to the idyllic meditation spot and looked downwards, there he was in the seldom seen form of a human, although not alone it seemed. A Lunamon she did not recognize resided on his shoulder, and apparently they were bantering amicably, though she did not pry their words. It was an oddity to see someone wielding a spirit with an infantine companion, but there was no reason in judging this. Friendships were precious after all, regardless of the circumstances and people involved. Besides, it was likely she would learn the crux of their relationship before long.
Therefore, she decided to attain their attention by briefly pressing two fingers against the tip of her muzzle and whistling at the top of her lungs. Granting the duo a few seconds to determine the source of this sound, which of course was her, she chose to present herself with graceful style. In place of merely descending the stairs by foot, she tensed the muscles of her legs and then released the accumulated force. Leaping down the floors with a single somersault, her eventual landing was so soft that barely any dust was dispersed. Admittedly, the location was also very clean.
Chuckling, the slender fennec straightened up as her silver hair and the silk of her kimono waved in the mild breeze of this most marvelous day. Taking in a deep breath, her aureate eyes lingered on the youthful man and the Rookie. Naturally, a rapt smile adorned her petite face. With one paw in front of her chest, she bowed to them as it was becoming to a lady and this exotic site. "A pleasure to meet thee in person again, Mr. Akiyama." She spoke kindly as her head tilted upwards to address the mammalian digimon. "The same to you, though I believe that I have not made your acquaintance yet, Miss...?"

The two of them looked up to see Cion's graceful entrance, which made Toki chuckle a bit "You always have to give it your all, don't you, Cion? Can't even have an entrance be anything less than graceful." He smiled at his friend. "It's good to see you again, too. I hope you've been doing well all this time." He said with a bow in return.
Aylin also bowed at Cion "It's very nice to meet you, Cion. I've heard much about you from Toki. My name is Aylin, and I am the daughter of Toki's spirit, Tsusagimon. I've known Toki a long time now, and now we work together to maintain Tsusagimon's monastery for a new generation."
"Aylin's been an extremely positive influence on my life. She was the one who notified me whenever one of my spirits emerged and helped me retrieve them when the time came. I probably wouldn't have gotten this far without her help." Toki said as he looked up at Aylin.
Aylin hopped down from Toki's shoulder and smiled "You did a lot too! I helped guide you, but it was your will that helped you resonate with father's spirit." She said before she addressed Cion once again "I heard that you once helped Toki when he still only had his Rookie Stage. He tried to cross the desert on his own...I can understand vastly underestimating its size when you're new to the region. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for assisting him."
First impressions between the two seemed to be going well, thankfully "I'm still rather embarrassed about that, but can't change the past, right? Aylin and I were waiting for you to ask if you'd like some tea? We have some very fine selections stored away if you would like some."
Aylin pondered something "Maybe we should put a space aside to set up a little garden for tea leafs...I think that could be fun to maintain, as well as relaxing for some of our members. There's nothing quite like enjoying tea you grew yourself."
Toki nodded "We'll see where we can set aside a space for that! That sounds like a wonderful idea."

Though not always successful in doing so, Cion was certainly a person who preferred giving everything she had rather than completing tasks and duties half-heartedly. The latter seemed completely pointless to her, if not counterproductive. And if her commitment to this modus operandi meant a graceful demeanor then she gladly obliged. Besides, it was not as if the kindness and etiquette was not returned in kind. She had expected nothing less from the mannered lad! That the Lunamon did act accordingly was the icing on the cake. Few things in life brought her as great a joy than well-behaved younglings.
"Oh... overall, I can't complain. Seems to me you can't either, right?" She calmly adumbrated a mix of positive and negative events which had transpired ever since their last meeting a year ago. Nonetheless, the fact alone that she was standing here, beaming with poise and confidence, spoke a thousand words about the shift that had occurred. Before, she was lost and confused. Now she had direction, which had inevitably led her back into the charming boy's presence. And apparently that of an infantine admirer. "The pleasure is but mine, Aylin. I was not aware that I was the centerpiece of tales, but I certainy appreciate it."
Softly folding her arms, the silver fennec briefly furrowed her brow. She remembered the two names that she had initially considered alien. But they were not what made her ponder for a moment. No... it was something entirely else. "Seems like the world is at least changing in one aspect..." She spoke under breather and clearly to herself. As bizarre as it sounded, it appeared that the concept of parenthood spread around the digital realm. Not only did elders take care of children, but a form of genealogy was manifesting itself. Actual procreation instead of just recreation - fascinating and delightful.
Shaking her head, she was quit to cast these admittedly pleasant sentiments aside. Contemplating them was not why she had met Toki. No, she simply wished to share a couple of good hours with him and possibly rectify an error of their past. Therefor, she happily payed attention to the abbreviated stories that the duo in front of her had enjoyed together. Nodding with a soft smile on her muzzle, it filled her heart with glee that both species were able to cooperate so well, even if they were not destined partners. She would definitely not mind hearing more!
Chuckling upon learning of the gratitude that the mammalian kid felt, the unassuming fox could not help herself but bow yet again, although this time with plenty of vim and mercuriality. "There is no reason to thank me, dear. It was an utmost pleasure." She responded with a hint of false modesty. Nevertheless, credit was not hers alone to claim. "If it was not for Vertigo, we might not have encountered at all. Speaking of which, I shall impart kind regards to the young gentleman from him." She continued, certain that her friend remembered the most sublime AceJetmon.
Moreover, it was not as if the favor had not been repaid already. But beginning with grave rigmaroles was hardly becoming to their joyous get-together. A cup of tea on the other hand was an excellent suggestion, to which she nodded approvingly. "When it comes to tea, I'm game either way. Shall we make ourselves comfortable someplace?"

Toki nodded "There haven't been much reason to worry as of late. I and several others aided the Sovereign Ebonwumon once more and removed the last of Wisemon's spells from the Rosewood area, so that's an achievement to be happy with." He said with a bright smile, clearly proud of what he was able to accomplish with everyone.
Aylin pat his arm "You got really hurt out there though, especially when you took that attack meant for everyone else. You made the right call, but still you had a lot of people worried! It scares me what might have happened if I didn't come to help when I did!"
Toki scratched his cheek nervously "Y-yeah, I know Aylin. I'm sorry about worrying you all...It was an instinctual reaction. I couldn't let a stray attack hit Rosewood head on, though I know that's probably what they anticipated..."
"And you did it anyway because it was still the right thing to do. Though you need to work on your defensive skills! I don't want you to push yourself to the point you can't be active anymore..."
"Tsusagimon ironically has a lot to support others, but not much to support himself..." He said as he rubbed the back of his head. "Either way, I'm okay, Aylin saved me at the last second." He said as he pet behind one of her ears.
Aylin looked over at Cion "Ah, of course! Toki speaks fondly of all of his friends and their exploits. He told me you were one of the first people he met, and it was very shortly before he met me. After you two returned to Terminus, he immediately set out to gather a party to explore the ruins for his human spirit, Antylamon. That's where he met me."
He tilted his head slightly at Cion's pondering, wondering what exactly it was she was thinking about. He made out what she said about the world was changing, but that could mean any number of things in these hectic times.
Then Cion mentioned Vertigo "You know I haven't seen Vertigo since. I'm glad he's doing well. Yeah that'd be great! Let him know we're doing well." He said with a nod of his head.
He gestured for Cion to follow "We'll get things started in the kitchen. There's a tea room next to it." He said as the group would start to make their way to the kitchen.
Aylin and Toki started prepping the materials to make tea. Toki filled the pot with water and set it to boil as Aylin looked for the perfect tea leaves to steep. "I love it out here, honestly. It's a very peaceful corner of the Digital World. The Isles themselves have recently opened their borders to the rest of the world. The culture they have out here is incredible...it's not unlike the feudal era of my county in the human world."

Admittedly, it appeared that Cion had been missing out on a little bit of vanquishing evildoers as of late. Prior to the explications she received from the young gentleman and his companion, she used to believe that everything was fine and dandy when it came to Rosewood. Apparently, that was not the case, though this status quo was seemingly only disrupted temporarily. Still, that not even Owen had contacted her about this was slightly dispiriting. Was she not considered able or virtuous enough to be a dutiful guardian? Sure, she was a mercenary for the most part, but her track record was practically spotless.
Shrugging eventually, the silver fennec sighed equanimously, confident that there was no point in contemplating this thought. Instead, she simply cherished the fact that the spirit-wielder in front of her was safe and sound, and had risen to the ranks of proud heroes. It was indeed a far cry from their initial encounter, hence she recognized the accomplishment. She did not voice her respect in any overly dramatic fashion for that was not how she functioned, but she gave a subtle nod as she smiled raptly. Deeds spoke louder than words anyway.
Listening to Aylin's tales, her reaction was likewise unostentatious yet candid. There were likely a thousand stories worth sharing, but she honestly did not quite know how to adequately respond to them. Her recent history was hardly filled with similar ventures, nor did she care to change this. While of course not perfectly happy, she had found contentment in what she had achieved lately. It was but a single relationship, but this one meant more to her than virtually anything else in the digital world. Concededly, aside from affluence, she did not have a lot to compare it with, but the sentiment was all the same to her.
"It will be a pleasure to relay your well-being to Vertigo." She responded kindly, looking forward to engage with the well-mannered jet fighter again after an extended period of 'lack of reason to do so'. However, that was a matter for the future, and she was, among other important things, here to enjoy the present. And although she would have preferred relaxing outdoors, she nonetheless followed the duo to this monastery's kitchen. The aesthetics remained influenced by Earth's eastern culture - serenely colorful.
"Can't argue with your impression. It's quite a vista to behold." She agreed without hesitation, facing with pleasant anticipation what amenities this island had in store. Hopefully, the tea was as good as advertised. "And as cozy as my recently obtained home is, Terminus is rather gray in comparison."

As Toki tended to the tea, Aylin began to make some snacks to go along with it. She started to mold a sticky dough around various fillings before skewing little orbs of the dough on sticks. Toki's expression was gently and friendly as it normally is "Living in Terminus, huh? I don't know if I'd be able to handle the crowds and the noise. I like having my peace and quiet." He said as he steeped the leaves in the water "Having people talk about me is strange enough...it's still a bit surreal that I'm somewhat recognized out there." He said with a warm laugh.
"Father was the same way. He loved it here and being among a few friends. He would always get so anxious around crowds. He always told me it was a miracle he was even able to be a teacher!"
Toki scratched the back of his head "I guess we're more alike than I thought. So Cion, what have you been up to since we saw each other last? A lot can happen in a year. Wow, has it really been that long?" He mused as he began to bring out some cups and plates.
While all those years ago the concept of the Digital World seemed impossible and his purpose in life muddy at best, Toki seems to have found his purpose and comfort in this world so alien from his own. The people he met, human and Digimon, both helped push him to become a better person. Not in some attempt to create a hero...but to help him become the good person he always wanted to be. His anger, depression, and rage from his high school days were long behind him. High school felt so long ago...
He shook his head as he heard the kettle. He gently lifted it off the stove and poured a few nice hot cups for the group. Aylin piled the dango she made on a plate. "Well, it's all ready! Come on, let's go to the tea room." He said, guiding the group down the hall to a room in the back. The room had several tables with cushions lining the side. The ceiling of the room was glass and in a dome shape, allowing them to look up at the sky from where they sat. He placed the tea cups where they would sit and Aylin put the plate at the center of the table.
"Help yourself! There's a lot of flavors." Aylin said with a sweet smile at Cion. "Aah I'm so glad we were able to get this room renovated! I loved it here when I was young. The stars drifting overhead, and the moon was stunning every night!"

"You're preaching to the choir." Cion responded with an amused chuckles escaping her lips as she watched the youthful duo prepare whatever goodies they had in store for her. She too was a person of peace and tranquility, but this sentiment was not shared by the one she called her dearly beloved. Hence they had struck a compromise between serenity and activity. Such was life if it was enjoyed in unison with another. Preferences and strengths were balanced in a way that everybody was satisfied. It appeared that Toki and his spirit had been the same.
"A whole year indeed, yet it seems like a minuscule unit of time." The silver fennec more or less whispered in agreement, knowing quite well how ephemeral days, decades and ages could be. After all, she had already witnessed plenty of them. But she was not here to lament or boast about her seniority. Instead, she wished to savor the refreshments and treats that were provided, and engage in conversation with the candid lad, and to an extent his companion as well. Therefor, with a certain excitement to behold this so-called 'tea room', she followed their every step.
And what a marble of Eastern clichés it was. The vitreous ceiling was without doubt a beautiful icing on the cake. She could only imagine the vista of a rainy dawn beheld through it. But again, this was no the moment to lose herself in her thoughts. Briefly shaking her head, she claimed a cushy pillow and sat down. Appreciating the invitation, she gladly indulge in the tasty morsels at her disposal - of course with graceful tact. "Many thanks." She kindly expressed her gratitude before claiming a pleasantly bitter flavor as her own. She favored an intensive aftertaste caressing her palate.
"A night like that of our last encounter... that'd be swell to see." The unassuming fox commented with a soft tone to her dulcet voice, aureate eyes shifting to the young gentleman for she still owed him a proper response. Taking a second to formulate an adequate reply, she started and stopped a few times until she finally managed to overcome her uncertainty. "Well... I... did precisely as you asked... or rather suggested me to. I guess that is the core reason why I wanted to meet you again, too." She began, a shy gaze marking her petite muzzle as she looked to see if there was genuine interest of the aspiring man to learn the whole story.

Toki and Aylin both took gently sips of their tea before they both looked at Cion with interest. "What I suggested? Oh!" Toki beamed happily "How has that been going? Have you met some friendly faces? I hope so..." He said, happy for his friend and curious about who she was able to meet in the time since they've last seen each other.
Aylin nodded "Toki did mention that you were in a bit of a rough patch for a while. How are you feeling now?" She asked and hoped that wasn't too personal a question. "Believe me, I know what it's like to feel a little lost and unsure about things. I was like that a lot before I met Toki and his friends."
Toki took a bite of dango and savored the sweet texture. He smiled softly "Things are going well out here as well. I've found quite a few people who want to help me. Some of them simply just want a place of security for a while and I'm more than happy to provide that if it helps them. So we've all been pretty busy."
Aylin nodded "We still have to organize our first outings, but once we get settled it should be an amazing experience. We're not sure where to start, though. Probably here in the isles or maybe even Whitewater. Either way, I'm sure we'll be able to handle it."
"I'm proud of how far we've come already. Either way, I hope you're enjoying the tea and snacks." Toki said as he took another drink. "Ah. The atmosphere here is perfect for this. This place took some time to rebuild. The upper cliffside was damaged pretty severely in the battle to get Tsusagimon's spirit. Thankfully it was able to be restored." He said. The mention of that battle was still difficult for Toki, but he wondered how that Digimon was doing after it was reborn. Well, he hoped, despite their last meeting.

Fortunately, the young gentleman's sympathy had not ceased over the year in which they had not interacted. Both during bright and dark times, she knew him as someone with an open ear and heart. She considered herself the same, but when push came to shove, it was him who had maintained his poise, not her. It had been a strange night back then, one filled with innermost warmth and the apathy of reality... but in the end, it seemed that they had found a way to cope with their burdens in their own ways. They had achieved positive outcomes.
However, Cion was visibly surprised to hear that the youngling named Aylin was aware of this tale. She did not consider it a breach of privacy - perish the thought - but she did not feel quite comfortable about it either. Still, she did not wish to taint their current serenity, hence she remained silent on the matter. Nonetheless, as the Lunamon expressed that she could relate, the silver fennec was unable to help herself and chuckled once. With her gaze averted, it was clear that she did not mean to dismiss her. She understood that the child had lost her parental figure. Nevertheless, it was difficult for her to believe that anyone would ever truly understand her... sorrow.
Audibly inhaling and exhaling once, she sighed and calmed down again. Instead of focusing on past woes, she forced her mind to concentrate on what was important. This of course meant today's bliss. And it appeared that Toki and his organization were doing well for themselves. Considering that the latter had its beginning relatively recently, this was certainly impressing her. Naturally, the details were not something she was acquainted with, but they were admittedly not crucial anyway.
"I indeed enjoy your hospitality, and I am happy to learn of your success. And if you require assistance someday, please do not hesitate to let me know." She responded with a warm smile, confident that offering a helping hand was most often a virtuous deed, particularly for a noble cause. Moreover, it was self-evident that she wished to return the favor she had received, in whatever way Mr. Akiyama saw fit. And if he did not need her support immediately, then hopefully in the future - preferably the near one. But she did not push him to anything either. Regardless, the offer was there for him to take at any time.
"As for myself - I'm not sure if I could be more content these days." The unassuming fox at last answered with a rapt, slightly toothy grin. This was not a facade, but from the bottom of her core. She was feeling well. Turning mostly to the aspiring lad, she believed the moment had finally come to explain herself. "It went... better than I could have imagined. Except for a single, special person, I did not make any real new bonds though. But I befriended Silence... again in a way. Then I invited my former love, now brother, and his family, to put the past behind us. It was... an enjoyable picnic."
Pausing for a second, she nodded quickly as to reassure herself that she was doing alright. These recent years did not cease to be a weight on her chest, but it was evidently manageable for her at this point. She was certain that the young man grasped this, which was why she continued before long. "And... something happened which I thought to be impossible and... I guess disreputable. Not only did I fall in love, it was returned to me as well. That's why I live in Terminus in the first place - to be with her, and be there for her." She explained soft-spokenly as a dreamy warmth manifested itself inside her dulcet voice. It was the flame of felicitousness that blazed within her aureate eyes.
Yet this was not everything, even if there were audible tremors in every word despite her lack of dolefulness. How was she meant to convey her impetus for being here? ... "And this is thanks to you, Toki... that I allowed myself to be happy again I mean. ... I thought you should know that."

Cion's declaration that she would help if she is needed brought ease to Toki's mind. He knew she was supportive of him and his endeavors, and it was nice to see that she was still willing to offer what she could. "Thank you, Cion. I'm glad to have your support." He said with a warm smile. Despite some of their differences, especially when it came to their worldviews, he was glad they were able to put that aside when it mattered.
He listened intently when Cion told him about her life as of late. Her sincerity and honest happiness was a delight to see, especially when it seemed like she was struggling to maintain a smile the last time they saw each other. "Silence? I've met her. It was surreal in a way since she's so similar yet so different to K...but it wouldn't be right of me to compare the two of them, as they're two entirely different people. I should catch up with her again."
As she said she put the past behind her alongside people she knew, he couldn't help but try to be supportive again "New bonds are important. A single one can make a world of difference and even rebuilding old ones can change a lot."
To hear that she had fallen in love and had that love reciprocated warmed both his and Aylin's heart to the very core "Cion...you have no idea how glad I am to hear that you've found someone that special to you. I hear you never expect it when you fall in love. I personally...wouldn't know. I don't have any experience in that sort of thing." He said with a nervous chuckle, but he didn't go any further as he didn't want to ruin the moment.
Aylin was also pleased to hear of Cion's relationship "It's wonderful when people can make each other so happy like that. I'm very happy for you! I wish you both the best." She bowed politely as her beaming smile was true and genuine.
Toki couldn't help but blush bashfully at Cion's next words. He didn't want to downplay it at all but it was difficult to find the words to accept this gratitude "Well you've done a lot of good for people over the years. You deserve to have something good to happen to you in return, so I'm glad that you were able to find that happiness after so long."

Good... with Toki's approval, it meant Cion would no longer feel the burden of a lingering favor. As for Silence and K, the debate about dual personalities was something she had ceased contemplating a long time ago. In essence, they were the same person, yet without intrinsic memories that was practically meaningless. They might as well be twins or clones since an individual lacking a past to remember was basically a tabula rasa. Hopefully, this was a circumstance that the doctor and her darling could deal with adequately. If not, she would of course be by their side to aid them.
In regards to bonds, the silver fennec nodded rapidly. She acknowledged, unlike during the prior autumn, that the young gentleman was completely right. "Verily so." She commented as an amused chuckle escaped her limits. It was almost unbelievable how a single, foreign soul entering her life had changed it. Naturally, mending old wounds had been a tremendous help, but it was the willingness to embrace all facets of a new chapter which had enabled her to step out of her own, large shadow. This was precisely the tale she wished to share with her friends, hence she did so in great detail.
Mr. Akiyama's reaction, and that of his emerging companion, were far more discreet than she had anticipated though. Had she expected rivers of tears and unending acknowledgments? Perhaps, as the boy was not shy to wear his heart on the outside. Still, she appreciated the calmness at display, and the positive sympathies that were shared. "Thanks... and hey! If I can, then I have no doubt that you too, a benign and handsome lad, will find someone very special - I dare say before long even." She happily voiced her encouragement, confident that many would become besotted with this particular human male.
Seeing Aylin's bow, the unassuming fox admittedly did not quite know what to say or do. She barely knew the Lunamon, yet she evidently held within her the same kindness as the spirit-wielder did. Therefore she gladly returned the polite gesture, certain that the mammal was bound to grow up into a fine sentinel of this little paradise. "Thank you. We'll work hard every day." She promised, not doubting that her sweetheart would agree if she was here. After all, the candid felidae did not mind voicing precisely what was on her mind. Rather often, it was the vulpine lady.
Noticing Toki's blush and hearing his comment, her initial grin faded for a soft if slightly reluctant smile. To this moment, she doubted how much of a supposed hero or do-gooder she actually was. Had she helped people because of genuine care, or to impress those she cherished? More than that, did the impetus actually matter, or solely the deed? Morality and ethics were undoubtedly a tough nut to crack. But hey - who was she to question the judgment of two knights in shining armor? "Oh... I am glad, too. And I'll earn my happiness whenever possible."
Sighing quietly, Cion took in a deep breath and finished the final sip of the delectable tea. Enjoying the last seconds of intense flavor caressing her senses, she eventually blinked and folded her hands together. Feeling a heavy weight off her chest, a certain degree of signature pizzazz returned to the way she moved and spoke. "Well then, let's leave the melodrama behind us. Are there any leisure activities around here you'd like to introduce me to?"

Toki refrained from bringing up how things were before since he figured that would be rude and dredge up uncomfortable, unwanted topics. Cion had grown as a person, that much was evident, and that was the important part. Toki simply relaxed and enjoyed the company of his friends as he took another drink of tea.
He laughed softly at Cion's agreement that making new friends was important. With Toki and Aylin putting all of their effort in their team, it was something that Toki knew was important, especially when it came to making a difference. There were some things that just could not be done on one's own. That was a lesson he learned the hard way, on these very grounds.
Toki scratched at his cheek bashfully when Cion said that he would one day find someone special as well "I...I appreciate the thought, Cion, thank you. It's one of those things you never really expect until it actually happens, isn't it?"
Aylin giggled a little bit "She's right, Toki. Someday you'll find someone. It's nothing to rush, of course, but you deserve whatever happiness comes your way for all that you've done for both the human and Digital world."
Toki smiled and hugged Aylin "Thank you, Aylin. That means a lot to hear." He said.
The Lunamon returned the hug happily before nodding to Cion "Good to hear! Sometimes we have to work really hard to get the things we want in life, but it's a little easier if you have people to keep you grounded."
Toki noticed Cion's slight shift in demeanor and worried that he might have said something to offend her. Though instead of bring down the mood, he took another drink and wanted to move on to happier topics. Speaking of which, Cion wanted to know what kinds of leisure activities were around here. "Hm..." He brushed his chin slightly "We have a stocked library full of learning material and novels for those who like a good book. Aylin and I tend to the flowers and gardens, which is pretty peaceful, actually. The center room of the first floor is equipped with special training equipment and a handy barrier to keep the monastery from getting damaged during training exercises." He said.
He thought about it some more "You know, maybe I should invest in more recreational activities here. Bring over some board games or something."
Aylin nodded "Yeah, that sounds like fun! We can also integrate other things into the monastery since we have so much room. As of right now, we mostly relax and tend to the monastery and its gardens. What do you think, Cion? Anything you would like to suggest we add around here?"

"Forsooth." Cion responded, intentionally utilizing archaic sociolect as a chuckle escaped her lips. If anyone, it was her who understood the inconstancy of relationships, be they amicable intimate. Truth be told, here had been no reason for her to expect finding love anew, even during a silly Valentine's Day event. After all, she was quite an eccentric character, who maneuvered somewhere betwixt the extremes of stoic grace and candid placidity. In fact, she was a cacophony of dualities. She sought peace yet is thrilled by vanquishing her enemies. She believed in civilization and its laws, but wanted people to be free to choose their destiny. That and much more...
But she was digressing again. Softly shaking her head, the silver fennec beheld the amicability between the young lad and the younger digimon. It was almost a shame that they were not fated partners, though it hardly stopped them from working and probably living together. If nothing else, harmony between the two realms never failed to delight her. Relations, for a variety of known reasons, were strained. Maybe someday, this was bound to no longer be the case. Heh... there she was wandering from the subject afresh. She really had to learn to stay in the reality in front of her, not that of her mind.
Recognizing Aylin's wisdom for what it was, the unassuming fox nodded in agreement. Life, depending on what you desired from it, was a series of challenges. And as pleasant as solitude could occasionally be, true companionship was a far greater balm for the soul. Hence it was in her interest to spend leisure time with the duo - hopefully unburdened by previous concerns. Listening to the available options, she concluded that the monastery was not a place to have fun in, but to master oneself, which was understandable yet slightly disappointing.
The idea that Toki agreed with this caused Cion to laugh. "Reading my thoughts, I see." She quipped as her paw reached to her chin and cheek to scratch it. If she had any suggestions? "Well... a proper lounge sounds like a good start. A dartboard, table tennis, billiards et cetera." She proposed, confident that this was both easy and affordable to implement, and would entertain inhabitants and visitors alike for a while. Speaking of which... "I'm up for a walk, or a training exercise. Does the latter include sparring-matches?"
