And with the individual search groups figured out, the squads would be off - Gururumon, BlackGarurumon, and Aurien sticking with Omen, whilst Cutlassmon, Shuckmon, and Gaogamon would stick with eachother. It certainly was a shame that the possession route might not necessarily work, but well... At least they still had their numbers to rely upon!
And speaking of which - it seemed that Omen would display her digivolution prowess, taking on the form of Teumesmon without much trouble! This had Gururumon's ears perking and tail wagging as she yipped "You're able to digivolve too? That's amazing!" with a happy and playful nip on the firefox's shoulder. "We oughta play together, after all of this! Oh, but first..."
Seemingly from nowhere, the wind would pick up around the group - namely BlackGarurumon, Aurien, and Omen. Gururumon had decided to use Run with the Pack to bolster their speed; allowing the group as a whole to move almost as swiftly as Gururumon herself could!
Certainly, Omen had said that they could save moves for after the job was done... But this also would help make sure that everyone could move faster, and cover more ground! "Let's run run run, everyone! Let's sniff and search and listen everywhere!" Gururumon yipped with joy, some of Duchess' brand of excitable enthusiasm clearly leaking through as she trotted onwards to scout around a short distance ahead of the group.
(And as a nice little side-effect, the winds swirling about the affected group would also do well in helping cool off with the hot sun beating down; something that would likely be a good relief, for the more darker furred or otherwise cold-adapted digimon present!)
However, for a good hour, nothing would happen. An almost unnatural quiet, sun-bleached bones that didn't move an inch, the hot sun itself beating down on everyone... At least, not until a low, ghastly, and bonechilling howl would carry across the sands - shortly before even Witchmon could make her call, prompting the pups following Omen to stop in their tracks...
Shuckmon had found something. And that something wouldn't take much longer to become visible to the pack - a miasma rising from the cracks in the ground, where the spellcaster had indicated.
"... Yeah. This isn't something we should take on ourselves; I'll make the call." BlackGarurumon would respond to Omen, nodding in agreement to the idea that everyone should reconvene. The obsidian wolf would throw back her head to howl - Gururumon and Aurien both wasting no time in joining in - as a call for the pack to rally up together, and prepare for a fight.
And before too much longer, Gaogamon responded with a howl of his own - a call that they heard them, and that the pack was now on the move.
"They're coming our way - we'll move towards them and meet them in the middle." BlackGarurumon informed Omen, wasting no time in picking up into a run alongside the others, in the direction of her pack. "Follow my lead, everyone."
This was certainly getting a little tense, Aurien would muse to himself, as the group got moving - he himself being perched atop Gururumon's back, so as to avoid being left behind. That being said though, he wasn't too scared! "If this is just a single phantom, then an entire group like ourselves should be able to beat it no problem, right?" Aurien mentioned optimistically, smiling to the others. "We'll just have to stick together and work together!"

Witchmon had mentioned that the ghosts could be merely defending their territory. Maybe when they found this Phantom they could figure out its motives. In the meantime the puppy pack had begun digivolving to champion as well and had begun excitedly scampering around. Hudiemon X2 giggled at the excitement the pack was taking but was able to quickly refocus on the job at hand and fluttered her wings taking flight to get a view from above while Vemmon X2e hovered closer to the ground while he looked.
An hour passed with nothing seemingly happening but the sun had yet set. Witchmon then made her call and Kazumi, Vemmon X2e, and Hudiemon X2 noticed the miasma creeping up. The smell was also quite noticeable even to Hudiemon X2 who was high up in the air and she crinkled her nose in disgust while tightening the grip on the weapon she carried ready for action.
Vemmon X2e hovered near Kazumi taking a defensive stance while he watched the miasma carefully. The sun wasn't even down and signs of some ghost was already appearing. What was going on?

It wasn't hard for the group to reconvene, of course. Omen, the "wolf pack", and the alien-fairy pair were able to all make their way towards the center. Indeed, if there was just one phantom, it was likely that the group as a whole could handle it.
But just what was that aura? Anyone wading through it would feel that thick, ghastly miasma weighing down their feet, like wading ankle-deep into a disgusting swamp. Even those flying overhead would be tempted to cover their noses, the air thick around them - and the aura only darkened as time went on.
TUrN BaCK.
Those words didn't seem to come from anywhere, instead ringing directly inside the heads of anyone in range. And with it, the dark miasma would congeal, forming into a cloudy, spectral claw - one that raised up, and crashed right down onto the nearest Skullgreymon. And immediately after, its bones would rattle, a red, piercing glow appearing from its eyes, as the zombie rose up to its full height.
"What in the world..." Even inside her head, the Witchmon questioned that tone. That didn't sound like a roaming phantom. But then, just what was this?
TuRN bAcK.
The voice repeated. The active skeleton's arm spread wide, before trying to sweep right through Aurien's group in one wide sweep. And in that same breath, the miasma below produced another set of ghastly hands - much smaller than before - attempting to hook around Vemmon's ankles from below.
An underground entity has been disturbed. An Undying has been created.

Though the groups may have been spread out, it didn't take long for the pack to reconvene with one another. However, as they moved, they still were made fully aware of the fact that something was terribly wrong in the air - the miasma hanging heavy around everyone, the scents of it all harsh on the keen noses of the pack. Most of all, Shuckmon was visibly agitated - a low and ghastly growl escaping the skeletal beast as they peered at their surroundings, once the pack came together once more. "... This is a larger threat than we are used to." They would simply state - staring out at the miasma that hung like a thick fog, obscuring vision after a certain distance. The scent of death was sickeningly sweet and thick, and given their sensitivity to such, they couldn't smell much else in the air as a result of such. "Then it's likely a good thing we have numbers on our side." BlackGarurumon stated. Briefly, they debated switching out to ProtoGarummon with Ruffian, but... Whilst Ruffian did best against a single foe he can have to himself as a Gaogamon, they probably needed sheer numbers more than anything. Especially when there was something in the miasma that spoke to them, from within their minds... The pack would collectively jolt in surprise at the whispered warning to turn back - some of them baring their fangs and snarling, and others looking around nervously. What was that? Where did it come from? None of them had any clue, besides perhaps the miasma itself... All they knew though, was that one of the SkullGreymon bodies present was beginning to awaken - and as it rose up to its full height, the skeletal beast would raise its arm up to attack...! "SCATTER..!!"At BlackGarurumon's command - which was made just as soon as the SkullGreymon had awoken and come to life - the pack would begin to move every which way, allowing them to avoid the sweep of the beast's arm. Shuckmon took to the skies, as the remaining four ran in different directions, before moving to circle around a respectable distance from the SkullGreymon as they decided their next move. Which, Gururumon would glance over to the others - calling to Omen, and the rest of the pack, "Let's keep our distances, everyone! Use any ranged attacks where you can!""Focus on knocking it off balance rather than dealing damage!" BlackGarurumon added - remembering Witchmon's previous demonstration upon the resilience of these things. They didn't know whether or not this resilience was still present, so... "We'll hold its attention so the others can figure out dealing with the source!"Thus, came combat. Shuckmon would be the first to act - deciding to use Mark the Dead upon SkullGreymon. A clawed and unnaturally-proportioned hand would rise - a glowing claw-tip drawing out a sigil that likely only they would understand the meaning of - before firing it off upon the SkullGreymon, aiming for the forehead. Even if the defense decrease that the mark caused didn't necessarily make it susceptible to damage, hopefully it would aid in evening the playing fields of either side just a little bit. As this went on though, a blazing eye would peer over in Witchmon's direction. "... Something is bothering you." They stated simply; an almost-inquiry, but also an observation. Next, once the attempted Mark was resolved, was Gururumon. Taking in a deep breath, the white beast would let out a sharp roar - Cutting Whirlwind - releasing a practical whirlwind of slashing winds at the SkullGreymon's chest, in an attempt to stagger or otherwise upset the balance of the skeleton alongside everyone else's' attacks, rather than deal any true damage. And then there was Gaogamon, whose scarves would glow with holy energy as they stretched and lashed out at the skeletal monster's torso, in tandem with the others! "C'mon, you think this sack of bones is gonna be enough?!" He taunted the miasma, baring his fangs confidently - even as Adhara, in the back of his head, pointed out that goading on whatever entity was haunting them was probably not the best idea... Whilst Gururumon and Gaogamon were attacking from afar though, BlackGarurumon and Cutlassmon both would need to come in close. Using the noise and ruckus that the two louder canids were causing as cover, the stealthy BlackGarurumon and silent Cutlassmon both came in close in unison - the duo both attempting to strike from behind! BlackGarurumon would dart in first, razor sharp crystals forming over her front claws that she would use to bash at the back of SkullGreymon's left leg with an Obsidian Claw - and Cutlassmon in turn was simply content to let out a number of slashes on the back of SkullGreymon's right leg in a Ghost Dance, cackling madly all the while! Just as soon as both attacks were made though, the duo would already be intending to back off - willing to sacrifice accuracy for evasion if need be. Guerilla tactics would likely be their best bet, in holding this thing's attention so the others could figure out how to deal with this problem at its root.
- BlackGarurumon commands everyone to scatter as soon as the SkullGreymon begins to awaken - allowing them to avoid the Undying's armsweep! - In retaliation, the pack begins a series of guerilla tactics with the goal of upsetting the skeletal beast's balance (as opposed to dealing damage,) as follows: - Shuckmon uses Mark the Dead in an attempt to weaken its defenses. - Gururumon uses Cutting Whirlwind to attack from afar, aiming for the chest. - Gaogamon uses Ripple Strike to attack from afar, aiming for the torso. - BlackGarurumon darts in with Obsidian Claw, aiming for the back of the left leg. - Cutlassmon darts in with Ghost Dance, aiming for the back of the right leg. BlackGarurumon (Using Obsidian Claw on SkullGreymon)Move Used: [ATTACK] Obsidian Claw: Augmenting her claws and fangs with a layer of razor-sharp crystal, BlackGarurumon leaps and claws at the foe with surprising agility.
Combat Passives: [PASSIVE] For the Pack: Though BlackGarurumon is technically as durable as any average Champion, her tenacity and determination knows no bounds when it comes to acting in the name of the pack she leads. BlackGarurumon has 50% increased defense when intercepting attacks meant for allies.
[PASSIVE] Obsidian Fur: One would think that obsidian is fragile - though BlackGarurumon's fur, glittering and shining as it is, is surprisingly sturdy! For the purposes of damage taken, BlackGarurumon ignores half of buffs/passives that increase an enemy's attack.
Cooldowns: N/A Gururumon (Using Cutting Whirlwind on SkullGreymon)Move Used: [ATTACK] Cutting Whirlwind: Gururumon sends out a blast of swirling wind that cuts the enemy like knives, with heightened accuracy! [2 Turn Cooldown]
Combat Passives: [PASSIVE] Swift as the Wind: Gururumon is swift and fleet on her feet - being able to move quickly, and sometimes even make leaps and bounds or tumble her way out of falls that a normal Gururumon couldn't, almost as if the wind itself is carrying her along. Increases her evasion by 30%
[PASSIVE] Fight or Flight: Normally, Gururumon appears like quite the lovable canine; someone who wouldn't hurt a fly, even if she enjoys playwrestling and roughhousing. When pushed to her limits whilst believing herself to be in danger, however, her bestial instincts kick in, and she begins to fight like a wild animal; increasing her attack by 50% when she falls under 50% health.
Cooldowns: Cutting Whirlwind - 0/2 Gaogamon (Using Ripple Strike on SkullGreymon)Move Used: [ATTACK] Ripple Strike: Channeling holy energy through the scarf-claws that Gaogamon has, he stretches them out to lash at 1-2 enemies of his choice; this attack dealing equal amounts of physical and holy damage, as well as dealing additional damage against demonic/evil/dark digimon! [3 Turn Cooldown]
Combat Passives: [PASSIVE] I Can Take This!: Gaogamon is a prideful canine, who is at his best in one-on-one fights; or at least, in fights where he is allowed to single out a target that only he gets to fight. If Gaogamon is the only one to target a given enemy that round (not including AOEs,) he deals 40% increased damage to them!
[PASSIVE] Not Done Yet!: Gaogamon is tenacious beyond belief - to the point where even if he is supposed to go down, he refuses to go out without a fight! If Gaogamon is struck by an attack that would incapacitate him, he instead continues fighting for the next 3 turns as a surge of holy energy gives him a temporary burst of energy - only collapsing after these turns elapse. If he is healed enough to make up for any damage received during this time, the effect ends early and he is allowed to remain standing; but this effect cannot trigger a second time in the same fight.
Cooldowns: Ripple Strike - 0/3 Shuckmon (Using Mark the Dead on SkullGreymon)Move Used: [ABILITY] Mark the Dead: Shuckmon marks an enemy - typically upon the forehead - with a sigil of dark energy, that stands as an omen of the inevitable death that comes for all. Whilst marked, the enemy has 50% reduced defense for the next 2 turns. [2 Turn Cooldown]
Combat Passives: [PASSIVE] Anubis' Disciple: Shuckmon's existence is to hunt the dead, so that Anubismon may judge their souls; their very presence instills fear in undead digimon of all kinds - be they skeletal, ghostly, vampiric, or otherwise. Shuckmon takes 50% less damage from the attacks of undead digimon.
[PASSIVE; RAM XROS] Unflinching: Much like the base Barbara, Shuckmon has a strange quirk to their body - namely, that their sense of pain is very weak, to the point that they sometimes barely even notice that they've been wounded. On top of this, their large size and stalwart demeanor make it hard to push them around! Shuckmon is immune to knockback/being buffeted about, as well as effects that rely on pain, flinching, or startling them.
Cooldowns: Mark the Dead - Waiting Cutlassmon (Using Ghost Dance on SkullGreymon)Move Used: [ATTACK] Ghost Dance: With an almost supernatural nimbleness, Cutlassmon strikes at the enemy with reckless abandon, in a flurry of wild slashes!
Combat Passives: [PASSIVE; RAM XROS] Ethereal Edge: Cutlassmon's blades - much like the base Scarlet - have a supernatural quality to them; causing them to deal typeless damage, and allowing them to ignore 50% of all defenses, active or otherwise.
[PASSIVE] Wielder: Though Cutlassmon typically wields themself by projecting an apparition-made-physical, these ghostly blades are just as content - if not moreso - to allow other digimon to wield them. Whilst being wielded by another digimon, the following rules are put in place:
- Cutlassmon is unable to take any action, except to 1. Part from the wielder, or 2. Use moves that state they can be used while wielded. - For the purposes of damage dealt, the wielder's own attack stat is used by both individuals. - Damage taken and pain received are split equally between both individuals, before defense is taken into consideration. Non-damaging effects still affect the intended target normally. - The wielder gains the benefits of Ethereal Edge, with an almost ghostly and wispy effect running along their limbs. - Cutlassmon and the wielder are linked telepathically and empathetically; being able to communicate mentally with ease. However, the wielder may also experience intense spikes in their emotions, as a result of Scarlet's own intense and battle-happy nature, and Sirius' more jolly nature.

It had taken a while, but Omen could sort of see the benefits of having two Xros Generals on this case with her. The fact of the matter was that despite a lack of levels, there was a surplus of numbers. This was good. This meant that one could in theory rush the Undying that was just created. Of course, that would need to wait. The Teumesmon would quickly bounce away from the arms of the SkullGreymon lunging for her, gritting her teeth. She was a fast champion but a rather fragile one. "Keep up that assault, I have something I can try if you get it knocked over!" Omen shouted as she landed, out of reach of the armsweep. She decided that it would be prudent to attack with the pack, and the Teumesmon remain where she was, before jumping and loosing a hail of flames. The target? The SkullGreymon. If knocking it down was what they were going for, then she would try to aid in just that. In addition, she wanted to see what the damned phantom was capable of, if this was the target.
Relevant Passives: Retention [Passive - RAM Upgrade]: This individual is capable of recalling and understanding various things she has been subjected to, and can use the knowledge it remembers to fuel some abilities in it's later forms. It varies depending on the form, and is functionally useless at Rookie, but at Champion at so forth, it's two passives and two actives, and so on.
Truth-Seeking Lens [Passive]: For how squishy one might consider Omen in this form, she is far removed from the term 'weak.' Opponents who employ mental abilities of any kind, especially hypnosis, pacification, or mind control, will find that Teumesmon is COMPLETELY immune to them.
Fleeting Light [Passive]: One would be a piss poor fox if they were, as an azure hedgehog once said, too slow. Teumesmon is 30% swifter than most Digimon of her level, as a result, though her durability is below par to compensate.
All-Knower [Passive - RAM Upgrade]: Teumesmon is able to replace this passive with any that she has learned about. If she does this, the passive will remain for three posts before she is able to switch it out once more.
So, as Omen's dodging the Armsweep, she swaps out Fatekeeper for Retention. Just in case. Otherwise, she dodges and attacks the Undying with Occult Flare, seeking to keep up the assault. Occult Flare: Teumesmon is able to summon forth magical flames with a number of uses. In combat, however, Omen uses these flames for offensive purposes exclusively, as defense is a myth for her. These flames can take on most any shape, but all do equivalent amounts of damage. 2 post cooldown. Retention - 0/3 until it can be changed out. Cooldowns: Occult Flare - 0/2.

Scatter was something Hudiemon X2 and Vemmon X2e didn't have to be told twice as they both flew high in the air while Kazumi scrambled for cover behind a large rock as she knew she was easy prey if she wasn't careful. Hudiemon X2 looked at Vemmon X2e and said "Long range attacks, huh? Should be no problem for either of us." The drill on the end of her lance began to glow and spin before a beam of energy shot forth from it heading for the enemy below them. "Drill Lance Beam!"
Meanwhile purple lightning began sparking from Vemmon X2e's pincers before he called out "V-Viral Lightning!" His lightning also shot out toward the phantom who was occupying the formerly empty SkullGreymon skeleton while dancing alongside Hudiemon X2's attack. Vemmon X2e was hoping he wouldn't have to resort to using the destructive power of his Dark Inferno Bomb for in the wrong circumstances it could be quite explosive.
OOC: Hudiemon launces her Drill Lance Beam. Drill Lance Beam: The drill on the tip of her lance glows while spinning before a beam of energy shoots forth from it.
Vemmon X2e has launched his Viral Lightning. Viral Lightning: Purple electricity gathers in his palms before he launches electric bolts from his pinchers.

The Undying was quickly treated as the behemoth of a Digimon that it was.
One-on-one, the several Champion level threats would have not hindered the beast in the slightest. The puppet of thick, armored bone was more than capable of withstanding an onslaught, but its initial attack - a sweep of the arm - was relatively slow and cumbersome, the Xros team able to build its distance away from the strike. It was also generally too large to avoid the attacks coming in its direction, meaning that the large Xros team could lash out with a varied assault.
Shuckmon's effort would strike dead on, though the sigil would appear incomplete, like a loose chalk drawing on the skeleton's forehead. Gururumon's Cutting Wind would fail to cut through the bone, not even a scratch on the surface, though the buffeting wind would hinder the monster's approach. As for the Gaogamon, perhaps he thought that the holy energy would deter the skeleton. But as that physical attack would strike towards his torso, the Undying would reach out, and attempt to snag its claw directly around the scarf itself. The bone would hiss at the holy energy, but assuming that he was able to grab it, the monster would pull - and attempt to drag the Gaogamon right towards himself.
With the group being evasive, any method to catch the enemy would be employed! As for the two striking from behind, the Undying would fall - but would adjust, settling itself on its right knee. That left its left leg able to kick out, sweeping to try and lash across the BlackGarurumon, a heavy sweeping kick that would swipe him a fair distance away.
Omen's flames would further pepper it from above. But if the goal was to swipe it off-balance, as the SkullGreymon purposefully set itself on its knee and lowered its center of gravity, the effort would be more difficult. In addition to that one knee, it planted its free left claw against the ground as well, keeping itself secure.
The Drill Lance Beam would strike home with the rest of the assault - but not assisted by the Viral Lightning. As the dark hands of the miasma would grasp onto the Venmon from below, it would find itself completely coated by the ghastly energy. And though he would fully believe that he was striking out at the SkullGreymon, assisting his brother's attack, the electric bolts would instead be fired upward, through the Venmon's possessed eyes, towards the flying Omen.
TuRn BACk.
Once more, the voice repeated. And, starting from an origin point a few meters left of the SkullGreymon, the entire field of miasma would give off a crackle and a flash of light, similar to lightning brewing in a storm cloud. Anyone still grounded would feel their entire body wracked with dark energy, a heavy pulse running through the bodies of both Xros Armies.
The Witchmon above, spotting this point, would aim her wand downward: "Aquary Pressure!" The declaration strengthened the incantation, shooting a powerful drill of water down into the miasma, aiming for a specific point underground. "Tch... did that even do anything..."
The effectiveness of 'Mark of the Dead' is reduced twofold, due to the opponent being a higher level, and due to the opponent lacking life.
The continued assault on the Undying is enough to force the monster to lower its center of gravity, in order to avoid falling over. Balance is largely weighed on one knee and one claw.
The free claw attempts to snag around Gaogamon's scarf, and drag him closer.
The free leg gives a swinging kick, attempting to sweep away the Garurumon.
'Enthrallment' succeeds on Venmon. His attack is redirected towards Omen, though he will believe his attack struck the Undying.
The unseen entity uses 'something', forcing dark electricity to pulse through the entire miasma cloud, moderately damaging all grounded targets.

Omen was able to tell a lot within a few seconds. She noticed that the Mark of the Dead was not as effective as it was supposed to be. That raised a few bells--not just thanks to the inherent gap in level, but...It felt odd. Was it even alive in the first place? Her thoughts were interrupted by an attack she did not anticipate, one from her own ally no less. Of all the--... See, a Teumesmon prided themselves on their agility, for without it, they were glass. The Viral Lightning striking true actually caused a significant chunk of damage to Omen, and she found herself on the ground right as more electricity seemed to surge! "Find h-higher ground!" She yelled, as she tried to scramble to her feet and leap for one of the SkullGreymon husks. Her vision blurred, her mind was racing with a hundred thoughts, none of them really rational. It should serve as sufficient elevation. "And you'd...You'd better..." ...Anger. Anger was what was making Omen's words hitch. A surge of black and yellow data overtook her for a brief moment, as she finally managed to put -exactly- how she felt at what just happened into words. "̴̧̛̭̯͛K̵͉̭̣̇Ě̷̗̩̒̏É̵͔͎͒̊Ṕ̵̗̤̖͆͝ ̴̰̬͚͌̒Y̵̖͐͘Ọ̸̤̉̂̀Ú̷͆͜R̷̠̤͎̉͠ ̶̢̛̥̬̆P̴̥̈A̵̅ͅT̵̰̽H̴̩̦̰͒̾̕Ḛ̴͈̄̈͘T̵͓̚I̸̭̓̃̚C̷̡̰͉̐̅ ̶̫̥̹̃̈Ä̸̞͇̤́Ļ̸͌͝I̶͔̻͛E̸͓̯̿͛̈́N̵̘̥̙͆̃̽ ̴̝͚̭͊U̵̢̫͊N̶̨͎̦̏͆D̴͙̈́È̵̜͙R̵͈͙͍͋ ̶͎͈̘̈́͒C̸̰̩͎̽̕O̴̖̭̹͛̈̑N̸̲̩̍̄̌T̶̤́̓̈́R̴̬͍̐̍O̵̲̗͐͊͂L̵̻̟͈̀͋,̶̢̛̲̜̌͌ ̴͈̋L̵̦̣̅͌̋E̸̥̤̚S̸̡͍͚̅̈́̾T̶̫̙̃ ̶͓͘I̵̢͚̊͒ ̸̮͈̮̈̈́Ṡ̷̰̏L̴̪͋̈́Ȃ̷͓̫̈́͝Y̷̦̻͐ ̵̥̐͒̆Ŷ̷̬͍Ō̵̠͂U̷͚͘R̶̞̙͐͋ ̶̤̪̯͐͌̆Ả̴͍̉̃Ŕ̴̯M̶̭͐Y̶͖̳̫̔̈́̕ ̵̜̺̆̈́M̵͍͑͊Y̸̝͕͋̐̑S̸̆ͅË̷̛͙̱̩́̿L̴̡͈̙̈́F̶̻̞̩̔,̷̺̦̭͗̾ ̸̤̈̂U̸̘͑S̶̻̖̻͗͋Ē̵̢̥̊̐L̵͚͊̊Ê̶̟̗̱͂S̴͎̲͙̏̚͝S̵̩͈͚͆͊ ̷̗͈͝'̴͉͇̟͐G̸̠͆E̸̤̹̫̔N̴̦͗̄͘E̵̺̓͝R̶̘̆A̷̠̘̩͛͝L̵̼̥̊̊'̵̟̬̮́.̶̜̳̓̍ͅ"̸̨̘̟̊̒̑Having been hit with friendly fire and left at the whims of a monster had left Omen plenty traumatized, and this was an unfortunate case of that trauma bubbling up. That same flash of black and yellow would overtake the Teumesmon entirely. And in it's place, atop the dead SkullGreymon, it would leave a beast of a thousand voices, a thousand mouths, to let out a roar that would no doubt be heard throughout the Valley of Dragons. It was a beast some may recognize as a helper to a Knight of the Rose. But here? It was the Fatebreaker's child. And much like her mother, she had a very foul temper.
Relevant Passives: Fatekeeper [Ram Upgrade GIGA]: This individual is 'blessed' with an eidetic memory, which doesn't do much outside of combat outside of meaning 'she remembers things super good.' In combat, however, this recordkeeping memory is best used as a means to recall. And with this digimon, recollection can serve more than one singular purpose. She can replace Fatekeeper with any passive ability she has learned about. Doing this locks the passive in for three posts, before it may be changed again.
Prior Adaptation [Passive]: You likely know the drill by now, Omen is able to replace this passive with one she has learned or gained knowledge about. If she does so, then three turns must pass by before she may swap this out with another passive.
Omen is hit by both attacks that were aimed towards her, and she does not take this well. At all. Being left at around half her health, given how frail a Teumesmon's constitution is. The natural response? Rather than be rational about this, Omen gets so fucking pissed that she forces herself to digivolve to Leucrotamon. That's it. That's her action. Consider her words wisely, and perhaps nothing worse might come of this. Also, even if this is a little redundant. Cooldowns: Occult Flare - 1/2. Retention: 1/3.

Though the skeletal threat was struck from multiple points it proved to not have knocked SkullGreymon over. Not only that it had braced itself. When the miasma of the Enthrallment engulfed Vemmon X2e it was as if he was not aware of it and, even worse, had attacked Omen.
Vemmon X2e saw that his attack had hit the undying for but something within felt off about it. Things felt more off when Omen had yelled at Kazumi causing him to turn and see that Omen had not only digivolved but seemed furious but why? What had happened?
It seemed things would be clear as Kazumi had stood up from her cover and was staring Omen down before she said "Vemmon X2e wasn't responsible for what happened. The phantom possessed him and directed the attack at you." He did what? Vemmon was shocked at not only his actions but the fact his blunt instrument of a general was taking such a rough tone with a digimon who could kill her easily but then Kazumi's voice took a gentler tone as she said "We have more important things to worry about than such petty in fighting."
"I'd hate to interrupt but I noticed the creature didn't like holy moves. Does anyone else here have them? Maybe we can use them to drive out the phantom from the bones so it can be finished off." Hudiemon X2 said with such shocking wisdom that it had to come from Dorulumon.

Shuckmon hissed in a brief irritation, at the sigil not working completely as expected. It wasn't too surprising, given that these SkullGreymon seemed unusually resilient - not to mention the fact that they are Ultimate stage - but well... It still meant that things wouldn't go quite as simply as they might've hoped. The pack as a whole would just have to expend a bit more effort, to deal with this beast. In the meantime though, it at least appeared that the onslaught of attacks would be enough to keep the SkullGreymon occupied, and even manage to topple it down onto all-fours! Certainly, little to no damage would be dealt to it - but damage had never been the goal. This right here had been the goal - to upset its balance, to distract it, to minimize the risks of it running rampant through the ranks of their allies. Which they were succeeding at in good order! It was a shame that, well... Everyone was focusing on the SkullGreymon, as opposed to a few folks perhaps splitting off and taking the time to investigate the source of all of this miasma. (Granted, this was what happened when noone had a chance to properly communicate plans, though BlackGarurumon had done her best to convey it at least a little bit amidst the chaos.) However, as the SkullGreymon began to topple, a number of things would begin to happen in succession. Firstly, as the beast toppled downwards, one of its legs lashed out in BlackGarurumon's direction. The black wolf would be able to dart away from the brunt of the attack - but one of the claws on the skeletal dragon's foot would still catch her on the hip, cutting in and drawing out a sharp snarl of pain from her as she briefly stumbled. Even if it was only a graze, it was a graze from an Ultimate. Secondly, there was the fact that as Gaogamon lashed out at the SkullGreymon, it would make a somewhat unexpected gambit - in that it'd grab at his scarf! "H-HEY! That ain't yours, skeleboy!" Gaogamon shouted as the accessory was snatched up, and he would immediately act in trying to dig his claws into the dirt beneath him and fight against the pull; keen on avoiding being yanked too close to those claws or teeth, if he could at all help it! But after the question of, well, certain aliens getting briefly possessed and striking out at poor Omen - there was also the surge of electricity that would rise up from the miasma! The fox's shouted warning would be plenty enough for the pack to get moving, however. BlackGarurumon and Gururumon both were nimble or otherwise good climbers in their own rights, given their main components' wild origins; the former scrambling up onto the same inert SkullGreymon that Omen was perched upon - her fur briefly standing on end from the narrow escape - and the latter's mastery of the wind allowing her more than plenty of mobility to leap and find a perch above the miasma! (Shuckmon, meanwhile, was floating - whilst Aurien took the time to hide away in Gururumon's loader. They were good.) However, Gaogamon would end up catching the brunt of the dark energy - the only thing helping to blunt the damage being BlackGarurumon using Refraction Barrier to protect him - and Cutlassmon had been too caught up in the thrill of the combat to even consider avoiding it! They would only react with the briefest of flinches though, before that manic grin returned - more than ready to simply leap back into the fray without a second thought! BlackGarurumon, however, would be reassessing the situation. They seriously needed to investigate the miasma at the source, or else this SkullGreymon would simply continue to fight until everyone else was exhausted to outright death. She'd glance to the side as Omen digivolved into Leucrotamon; and the whispers that emanated from the beast prompted a... Reasonable amount of unease, to her and Gururumon alike. At the very least, they could take comfort in that Omen was their ally, and that she was now able to fight on-par with the SkullGreymon. However, the obsidian wolf spoke yet, calling to both Omen and the pack. "Gaogamon! Cutlassmon! Omen! Hold the beast's attention!" She'd howl, as she leapt down from the perch, once the surge of dark energy had passed. "Gururumon, Shuckmon, Kazumi - with me!"The canids called upon would be quick to disengage from the SkullGreymon one by one, and follow after BlackGarurumon as she began moving towards the miasma's source - which had been further indicated by Witchmon's downward strike, with pressurized water. The only one who would linger briefly was Gururumon - who'd be keen on aiding the remaining trio, with Run with the Pack! "Be careful, everyone!" She'd call, before departing with the rest of the pack as the wind whipped up around Cutlassmon, Gaogamon, and Omen. Once the trio of canids reached the chasm that the miasma had been bubbling up from, BlackGarurumon glanced to Shuckmon. "Do you think you can narrow down the miasma at all to its source?""I can certainly try; but the miasma here is thick." The eldritch hound humphed, breathing in deeply - not even flinching at the heavy smell that the miasma itself held - as they began to track their way through the heavy fog. And as they descended downwards, they'd let loose a Flames of the Reaper - breathing out blue flames both in an attempt to light their way, and to see how the miasma would react (if at all.) Hudiemon X2, meanwhile, would ask about holy attacks - to which Gururumon would shake her head. "Sadly, no; only Gaogamon can do holy attacks, because they come from Adhara!" She'd bark, adding "Everyone kind of has their own elements they can do, for the most part." Only a few of the packmembers had particularly overlapping elements, as a result - and it was mainly stuff like physical damage. Nonetheless, BlackGarurumon and Gururumon both would follow Shuckmon's lead, as they attempted to figure out just where - exactly - the miasma's source could be. Meanwhile, there was Gaogamon and Cutlassmon both, left with Omen to handle the SkullGreymon. Gaogamon was in a little bit of a pickle, given the scarf being pulled upon - but he remained as stalwart as he could be, and in fact had a plan! "You must think yourself a big fella, now that you got this sack of bones at your disposal, huh?" The canid would growl, as he grinned smugly in the direction of the SkullGreymon. Certainly, the skeletal digimon might lack the faculties to react to a taunt, but maybe the phantom behind all of this miasma did! "What a big damn yawn; all you're doing is trying to tug me along, when are you going to do something interesting?! I'll have plenty of bones to chew on - and I'll even go spit on your resting place - if you don't impress me soon! Eyes on me, buddy!" As Gaogamon continued to taunt the phantom through SkullGreymon though, he'd be bracing himself - knowing quite well that he'd be in a world of hurt if the taunts succeeded, pretty soon. Cutlassmon, on the other hand, was just vibing. (At least, assuming you called 'wrapped up in the thrill of combat' vibing, that is.) They were being told to keep this big thing occupied, and their eyes had lit up at the news like a child finding a gigantic present with their name on it, one Christmas morning! Now all they had to do was unwrap this present - and oh, there was plenty of unwrapping to be done! The only question here, was how? Firstly, the ghostly pirate would decide to do what they did best - which was attack things! Letting loose another joyful and manic cackle, they would leap towards one of the limbs that looked the least stable - namely, the left arm that was holding SkullGreymon up. And as they got close, they went right to town in letting loose a flurry of blows upon the limb in a Ghost Dance, before darting away - just as they did with the leg in the previous round! However, as they bounced away, their eyes would fall upon Omen once more - the only digimon who wasn't currently occupied with being yanked around by a skeleton - and with their manic grin maintained, they'd extend their twin blades in the ghostlion's direction. Would she be able to wield them, and wield them well...?
- BlackGarurumon narrowly dodges the kick, and is grazed by a claw. - Gaogamon's scarf is grabbed, and he immediately begins digging his claws into the ground to resist the tug. - BlackGarurumon and Gururumon seek high ground alongside Omen, managing to avoid the dark energy surge. Shuckmon avoids it by floating, Aurien avoids by hiding in Gururumon's Loader. - Gaogamon and Cutlassmon are struck by the dark energy surge - but the former is partially protected from it by BlackGarurumon's Refraction Barrier - Before leaving to investigate the miasma's source, Gururumon uses Run with the Pack on Omen, Gaogamon, and Cutlassmon. - Cutlassmon uses Ghost Dance to strike at the SkullGreymon's left arm, proceeds to offer their blades to Omen afterwards. - Gaogamon uses Eyes On Me! to try and hold the SkullGreymon's attention (by taunting the phantom thru SkullGreymon) as well as brace himself from a potential incoming beatdown. - Shuckmon is attempting to track down the miasma's source, and uses Flames of the Reaper to light the way + see if attacking the miasma has any effect. BlackGarurumon (Using Refraction Barrier on Gaogamon)Move Used: [ABILITY] Refraction Barrier: BlackGarurumon raises a crystal shield for herself or an ally; blocking 1 Champion-stage attack, or 25% of an Ultimate-stage attack, before shattering. [2 Turn Cooldown]
Cooldowns: Refraction Barrier - 0/2 Gururumon (Using Run with the Pack on Omen, Gaogamon, Cutlassmon)Move Used: [ABILITY] Run with the Pack: Gururumon picks up to 3 digimon (herself being an option,) and emboldens them; using the wind to aid their speed just as it aids her! Increases targets' evasion by 20% for 2 turns. [3 Turn Cooldown]
Cooldowns: Cutting Whirlwind - 1/2 Run with the Pack - Waiting Gaogamon (Using Eyes on Me! on Phantom/SkullGreymon)Move Used: [ABILITY] Eyes On Me!: Gaogamon makes a mocking and taunting display at the enemy as he gets in their face; taunting them to only target him - whilst also increasing his own attack and defense both by 30% - for 2 turns.
Effects: Run with the Pack - +20% Evasion - 0/2 Turns Eyes on Me! - +30% Attack, +30% Defense - 0/2 Turns
Cooldowns: Ripple Strike - 1/3 Eyes on Me! - Waiting Shuckmon (Using Flames of the Reaper on Miasma Source(?))Move Used: [ATTACK] Flames of the Reaper: Shuckmon breathes out blue flames - much like the blaze that holds their body together. Despite appearances though, these are not normal flames - dealing dark damage instead of fire, and leaving a chilled feeling in their wake....
Effects: Run with the Pack - +20% Evasion - 0/2 Turns
Cooldowns: N/A

The conversation was a bit scattered, but the group had two ideas to work with: purge the ghost from the Undying, or attempt to locate the hidden phantom and deal with it directly. Either way they went about it, the group was going to have to at least leave a few to distract the SkullGreymon.
Currently, that group was the Cutlassmon, the Gaogamon, and potentially the newly-created Leucrotamon - a definite risk! With fewer targets assailing it, the SkullGreymon was able to redouble its efforts against the three of them - and in particular, the Gaogamon was asking for it. Its taunt did prove effective, the piercing red gaze of the skeletal monster locked right onto the taunting wolf. He may have improved his defense, but being the sole focus of the bone golem's assault would deafen that advantage pretty quick.
As the Cutlassmon approached, the SkullGreymon would rear back onto its hind legs, legs stomping as its center of gravity started to shift back to 'standing'. A good swing left a gash right at the side of the skeleton's arm, but the Undying would simply swing that arm backwards, likely-and-unintentionally catching the charging Cutlassmon in its path, as it dug its feet into the sand, and wrenched the right arm, gripped around the scarf, backwards.
Forget a tug-of-war - at this higher angle, it was unlikely that Gaogamon was going to get any footing at all. And left like that, he'd likely be wrenched right off of the ground, out of the miasma and directly towards the skeleton. The scarf would become slack, as the wolf would be flung forward, right towards the Undying's fangs. All in that one mere second, the Gaogamon would be pulled, flung forth, and tightly crushed between the Skullgreymon-skeleton's powerful jaws. But at the very least, that grave cost might grant an opening for everyone else.
As for Shuckmon's efforts, he'd find his flames cast right into the miasma, dragged right along the top, soon lost in its wake. It did demonstrate that the miasma was flowing away from the point where Witchmon shot, and it also made the miasma glow a bright florescent indigo color. Past that, the combined fire and smoke only made the visibility worse, rather than better, bright light reflecting off of the vapor-like miasma.
"Was I off, then?" Using the flame as a marker, the Witchmon would strike from above, once more shooting a pressurized shot of water - and this time, there was a reaction, a light rumble through the ground, a small geyser of miasma erupting from the point of contact.
"There! Whatever's down there, it can take damage!"
Good news, finally! But not so much for those shocked by the lightning-filled miasma, those who were still on the ground at the time: Cutlassmon, Gaogamon, and Kazumi. It might have been a better idea for the general to seek shelter on top of her cover, but the crackling energy would likely wrack through her frame.
Undying is affected by 'Eyes on Me!', and takes the threat to heart - attempting to draw in the Gaogamon and bite him in half.
'Dark Lightning' pulses and hits all grounded targets: Gaogamon, Cutlassmon, and Kazumi.
The Skullgreymon being used as a perch remains unmoving.
The unknown entity does not act - but miasma production has doubled.

Sorry, Kazumi. Anyways, posturing is for squares and you know what? The monster was not a square, she was at least twice the size of a large bear. Granted a boon of unnatural speed, she was already plenty fast, but with an offer of ethereal blades atop of that? Why, it was far too good to allow to pass. The tendrils making up her mane would extend, clutching the blades offered to ensure they did not go in vain. The Leucrotamon kicked off of the dormant SkullGreymon, half-expecting that to become ANOTHER Undying as she would charge for the currently active one, trying to lunge for it's arms with an attack that most would recognize in terms of execution as belonging to a more dreadful kind of creature, the kind you would equate to a plague of locusts. Berserk Sinking. "̴͚͉̎S̸̯͊̊T̶̺͖̃R̴̮̀͑Ị̵̧̒̑K̸̫̖͒͝E̷̬̍ ̶̨̤̽A̷̖͋T̵̪͑ ̴̹͔͌T̶̺̊̂ͅH̶̨̳̀Ẹ̴͂̌ ̸̖͝H̸̠͚̊E̸͈̥͊͆A̵̟̎́R̶̫̜͐T̷̪̮͒̌.̷̲̯͝"̴̻͉́̏ The monster screamed, as the mouths upon her began to laugh once more. If the attack would strike the Undying, then the damage would be redistributed, just this once. Not just to it, but...to where Shuckmon's flames had acted as a marker.
God, I hate passives: Truth-Seeking Lens [Passive]: For how squishy one might consider Omen in this form, she is far removed from the term 'weak.' Opponents who employ mental abilities of any kind, especially hypnosis, pacification, or mind control, will find that Teumesmon is COMPLETELY immune to them.
Fleeting Light [Passive]: One would be a piss poor fox if they were, as an azure hedgehog once said, too slow. Teumesmon is 30% swifter than most Digimon of her level, as a result, though her durability is below par to compensate.
Laying Odds [Passive]: The user is capable of adjusting the rules of a damaging move that they are casting. If they wish, the user can disperse the damage across a maximum of three targets when using an ability that would normally only affect one enemy. 2 Post Cooldown.
^ This is here now. It should've been in the first place. Sorry.
SAFE, EAT IT NERDS. Well, either way, Leucrotamon throws some mean words after realizing a Xros General's own undoing is their hubris, and replaces some passives. Kek. Specifically, Prior Adaptation becomes Fleeting Light, Teumesmon's 30% speed increase passive, and Fatekeeper becomes Truth-Seeking Lens. In essence, Leucrotamon's passives are now the same as Teumesmon's. Also, she's affected by Run With The Pack. Fast! She takes up Cutlassmon's blades, gaining the associated benefits with them before she goes to strike at the Undying with them empowering Berserk Sinking. They also are affected further by a team passive that I should've included in the log earlier. Bass' sincerest apologies are in this combat log because Omen is not sorry at all. Omen also applies Laying Odds onto Berserk Sinking to spread the damage done if it hits to the Miasma's Source as well. Cutlassmon's Stuff Is Beneath This Spoiler: [PASSIVE; RAM XROS] Ethereal Edge: Cutlassmon's blades - much like the base Scarlet - have a supernatural quality to them; causing them to deal typeless damage, and allowing them to ignore 50% of all defenses, active or otherwise.
[PASSIVE] Wielder: Though Cutlassmon typically wields themself by projecting an apparition-made-physical, these ghostly blades are just as content - if not moreso - to allow other digimon to wield them. Whilst being wielded by another digimon, the following rules are put in place:

However, the wielder may also experience intense spikes in their emotions, as a result of Scarlet's own intense and battle-happy nature, and Sirius' more jolly nature. Moves used: Berserk Sinking [RAM Upgrade]: When your mother was one of the more terrifying Meicrackmon Vicious Modes on the site, you tend to inherit a few things from her. Leucrotamon lunges for a foe with fang and claw, trying to tear into them with the same level of ferocity as one of the dreaded cats. The wounds left by this attack fester, and should healing be applied? They become 50% more severe for that next post. More pain! Two turn cooldown.
Laying Odds [Passive]: The user is capable of adjusting the rules of a damaging move that they are casting. If they wish, the user can disperse the damage across a maximum of three targets when using an ability that would normally only affect one enemy. 2 Post Cooldown. It seemed Omen was not willing to listen to Kazumi's words but the Xros General decided to worry about it later when she was suggested to go with two of the digimon. How was she to be helpful? All she had on her was a hair brush and she doubted that would help in the current situation as she came out from her cover to see the miasma spouting up in lightning form in the color of Vemmon's Viral Lightning and it was heading towards everyone on the ground. Eyes wide she moved to scramble on top her cover knowing that it was likely to still hurt as she didn't have much protection still.
Unknown to Kazumi, Hudiemon X2 had seen the spot her general was in as she dove for Kazumi plucking her off the rock with her free hand. "Hudiemon X2, leave me with them." she said pointing to the obsidian wolf who had suggested she go with them. "Then I want you to try and heal Omen."
Hudiemon X2 looked at the maisma below before nodding. She then flew over and placed Kazumi with the group of canine digimon before flying toward Omen her wings beginning to shimmer before she said "Healing Dream!" The healing dust blew out toward Omen.
Vemmon X2 watched Witchmon launch a water based attack out of the corner of his eye and followed the attack seeing as the miasma seemed to react as it appeared damageable. Not willing to feed more lightning into the miasma he was glad that he had more to offer than lightning attacks. Raising his arms he pointed his palms down toward the miasma aiming for the spot where Witchmon hit. "B-Bit Storm!" Vemmon X2e exclaimed launching a hailstorm from his palms toward the lightning charged miasma.
OOC: Hudiemon snatches Kazumi and moves her away from the miasma. She then uses her Healing Dream on Omen. Healing Dream: Blows a healing dust from her wings.(One post cooldown) Cooldown 0/1.
Vemmon X2e launches his Bit Storm at the lightning geyser of miasma. Bit Storm: Launches a hailstorm from his palms.

Gaogamon was Not having a good day, but really, he recognized (or perhaps more accurately - Adhara recognized and was reminding Ruffian) that he brought it upon himself; trying to facetank the big hulking Ultimate and going so far as to taunt it. As he was flung towards the SkullGreymon's maw, he would react quick; letting his scarves shoot out towards the skeleton's upper and lower jaws to try and stop himself from flying straight into the jaws of something that could very damn well bite him in half. Which, the gambit worked. At least partially. It did stop him from careening into the beast's jaws, as he pushed off of them to try and redirect trajectory. However.... It'd instead send him slamming into the SkullGreymon's collarbone - which already hurt like hell, the beast digimon letting out a sharp "O-Oof..!" as he impacted. But then he'd start tumbling down the SkullGreymon's ribs - letting out a litany of 'ow's and swearing as he hit a few of them on the way down - before he proceeded to faceplant into the sand below. "... OW." He'd state plainly - his voice muffled by the sand, though Gaogamon would make a point to speak up so that at least one person heard him. He'd get up and wasted no time - not even time to shake the sand off of him - in getting moving, darting down between the skeletal beast's legs at an angle, to try and avoid getting too close to the beast's tail. "You want a piece of me, huh?!" He'd shout at the SkullGreymon as he ran, ready to keep up the taunts. "Only way you're getting a bite of me is to catch me, slowpoke!"Meanwhile though, there was Cutlassmon who - as Omen came in close - their eyes would light up in joy. Yes! It was time! They were more than happy to pass the blades off to Leucrotamon, despite being towered over by what was essentially an eldritch lion - and as soon as the blades were handed off, Cutlassmon's body seemed to... Shimmer away, and disappear? No, Cutlassmon was still present - their true body has always been the blades they carried. This would become near-immediately apparent in the strange dual-presence that settled in Omen's mind. 'YES! WIELD ME WELL!' This voice was unlike any of the pups that the blazing lion knew, more likely than not - even if hints of Sirius' voice laced it. 'I AM READY FOR THE CLASH OF FANGS AND STEEL! MAKE THIS LANDLUBBER ROUT, MAKE THE PHANTOM FEAR US; FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! AHAHAHAHAAAAAA..!!'It was more or less immediate, the sudden rise in emotions that surged from Cutlassmon's presence in Omen's mind; it was quite likely that the Leucrotamon in question would be feeling it as well, with just how infectious these wild and gleeful emotions were! And these emotions were sure to spur on Omen's attacks, if she allowed it. And then, there was BlackGarurumon and her group. It seemed that Witchmon was able to pinpoint on the presence of the phantom - which Kazumi's group was quick to act upon, sending attacks down into the miasma below. The pack was more than ready to do the same as well; the faster they dealt with this matter, the better - especially for the sake of those keeping the Undying occupied up above. Thus, Gururumon would begin to fall into a deep focus - the wind around her beginning to whip up, as she took in an ever-deepening breath. She was beginning to charge up a Howling Gales. BlackGarurumon, meanwhilst, would scale her way down towards the source - using her Crystalkinesis to make footholds of glimmering crystals not unlike obsidian or onyx in appearance where necessary - before diving in with an Obsidian Claw, snarling! Finally though, there was Shuckmon. The eldritch reaper-beast would simply float down, closer to the source - but as they did, they would begin to let out a ghastly bark, something that one would expect to hear from the Cù-sìth of Scottish folklore. Bring out your dead. A second bark - just as ghastly, if not moreso than the last - blue hellish flames surging up around them. Bring out your dead. And then, there was the final bark - BRING OUT YOUR DEAD - that would send those hellish flames surging outwards through the crevice that the miasma's source seemed to be hiding away in. It would wash over everyone in the immediate area - though they would be more-or-less unharmed; albeit perhaps chilled to the bone. The question stood now though, was whether this Phantom of theirs would be harmed by these dark flames - or if it, too, would escape harm. The only way it would avoid damage was to either dodge, or to have not been undead in form or nature at all...
- Gaogamon manages to avoid being bitten in half - albeit he still takes a bit of a beating from slamming into the SkullGreymon's collarbone, and also having a tumble down the ribcage. Instead of attacking though, he proceeds to dart away from the Undying, to keep it distracted! - Cutlassmon is now being wielded by Omen, and immediately uses Rising Emotions to increase her attack. - Gururumon begins charging Howling Gales - BlackGarurumon descends into the crevice with her Crystalkinesis, before attempting to attack the source with Obsidian Claw - Shuckmon descends into the crevice and uses Cù-sìth's Call upon the source! BlackGarurumon (Using Obsidian Claw on Miasma Source)Move Used: [ATTACK] Obsidian Claw: Augmenting her claws and fangs with a layer of razor-sharp crystal, BlackGarurumon leaps and claws at the foe with surprising agility.
Cooldowns: Refraction Barrier - 1/2 Gururumon (Using Howling Gales; Charging)Move Used: [ATTACK] Howling Gales: This attack can be charged for 0-2 turns; during which Gururumon takes in a deep breath, and begins to focus; the wind around her picking up exponentially, and her evasion being halved. The wind continues to build in strength, before Gururumon releases every bit of energy building up within and around her in a powerful howl. This attack, once released, (harmlessly) knocks back any digimon near her in an outwards burst of wind proportional to the turns spent charging, and sends out blades of slicing winds at anywhere from 1-5 foes of her choice. [4 Turn Cooldown]
Cooldowns: Cutting Whirlwind - 2/2; Ready Next Turn Run with the Pack - Waiting Gaogamon (Taking evasive maneuvers against SkullGreymon)Combat Passives: [PASSIVE] I Can Take This!: Gaogamon is a prideful canine, who is at his best in one-on-one fights; or at least, in fights where he is allowed to single out a target that only he gets to fight.
Effects: Run with the Pack - +20% Evasion - 1/2 Turns Eyes on Me! - +30% Attack, +30% Defense - 1/2 Turns
Cooldowns: Ripple Strike - 2/3 Eyes on Me! - Waiting Shuckmon (Using Cù-sìth's Call on Miasma Source)Move Used: [ATTACK] Cù-sìth's Call: Shuckmon begins to bark three times - a sound that can be heard over a long distance, if one listens for it. As the first two barks sound, a blaze of dark flames begins to build up around Shuckmon; up until the third bark, where it proceeds to surge outwards, striking friend and foe alike.
To most digimon struck by this, this deals little to no damage, only leaving them chilled to the bone. However, to digimon who are undead in nature or inflicted with Mark the Dead, they are dealt great amounts of damage, as the flames sear and rip away at their very souls. [4 Turn Cooldown]
Cooldowns: Mark the Dead - 1/2 (iirc? think it ran out on SkullGreymon by now?) Cutlassmon (Using Rising Emotions on Omen)Move Used: [ABILITY] Rising Emotions: Cutlassmon's (or their wielder's) excitement continues to rise, the desire for a wilder and wilder fight fueling the strikes behind their blades! Increases Cutlassmon's attack by 50% for 2 turns. If used while being wielded, increases the wielder's attack by 50% for 2 turns instead. [2 Turn Cooldown]
Effects: Wielder - Active Run with the Pack - +20% Evasion - 1/2 Turns
Cooldowns: Rising Emotions - Waiting

Things might have gotten worse for the Gaogamon in the ongoing moments - after all, the Undying still had a grip on its scarf - if not for the interference of a maddened phantom wielding the blades of a demented pirate. Though 'Mark of the Dead' had little effect on the already lifeless, such a relentless attack tore right right on through, and although the bones themselves remained in tact, the arms were torn apart at the joint, solid bone skittering across the hardened surface of the sand.
The Undying's gaze quickly shifted towards Omen, completely disregarding the Gaogamon behind him. Yes, the taunt had its lure, but the Gaogamon wasn't the one who had just ripped off its arms! With a billowing roar, the armless beast tore right after Omen, paying little head to the threats behind it, simply wishing to run the opposing ghoul through with its frame.
That left the rest of the group to try and deal with the miasma's source - though, honestly, getting a good shot into that outpour was quite a tricky feet! Venmon's efforts would break through the surface of the dirt, and the Obsidian Claw, though it would strike deep, would only serve to kick a surge of miasma back into the wolf's face. Perhaps it was appropriate that the undead hunter had the best result, the Shuckmon's flames surging right down towards the source of that miasma. As soon as the flames surged down, there was definitely a reaction, a ghastly howl filling the surrounding desert as the flowing miasma surged with a red mist.
"No... I told you to leave! LEAVE!"
The phantom's warnings gave way to an angered voice, and from the source, a cloaked blur shot straight up from the geyser, floating right above the surrounding group, distancing itself away from its flame-filled home. There, floating above them, was their culprit:
MetalPhantomon (X). With one hand clutched around its scythe, another aimed downward, starting to draw up the surrounding miasma in the area, attempting to raise it right up to blacken the sky. "Don't you know when to leave it well enough alone?" The Phantom scoffed, the miasma above starting to spark with the same lightning that coursed through its arms. "Or shall I have your own rotted skeletons join my collection?"
The damage inflicted by Omen has exceeded SkullGreymon's interest in the Gaogamon. The Undying seeks blood.MetalPhantomon has appeared, and prepares 'something', raising its miasma to blot out the sky.
