As it turned out, the Tyrant's Labyrinth did not hold such a title for nothing. It was like a maze that was half-eaten by time itself and the other half consumed by nature. The place was home to very few sane Digimon, and the subject of this little vignette was not in the right frame of mind by any means at the moment. The Leucrotamon limped through a hall, staring around warily, as if any corner could yield her end.
She didn't walk without purpose, though. She walked to find a way out of here, a way home, and yet...as time went on, such a thing held so little meaning...Where was that light at the end of the proverbial tunnel? A voice, muted, muffled, sounded for the Leucrotamon.
"Oh, goodness...! What...what's happened to you?" The Ultimate turned in alarm towards the source of the voice, a girl with auburn hair and red eyes, yet...Something about her seemed fabricated. Off. The creature lashed out, only for the girl to fade into mist, something else with far too many eyes jumping back.
"No way to treat family, is it, little wisp? Wounded and addled as you are...Death equals mercy-" The creature was cut off by a crimson claw suddenly extending from her chest. Had...she been stabbed? Yes. From behind? Certainly. "Ingrate. I'll pay you back for that." The creature spoke, seeming to wrench herself free.
...
Unideal situation. Two against one. One is wounded. The other is here with purpose. This was a conflict that held no worth, a conflict that was ultimately pointless. Boring. "You seem to have come here with the idea to kill a monster, dearest Fatebreaker..." The creature spoke, before it leapt away, seeming keen on scurrying into...something.
"Then deal with the one you made."
The shadowed figure retracted her hand, putting another one, and another limb forward as bullets shot for the retreating creature. Leucrotamon simply stared towards the figure. She seemed familiar, yet...why did she feel as though she was in danger? The figure met her eyes.
"...Omen?" That was...That was her mother's voice! The Leucrotamon simply limped forward, before she finally collapsed...She was very certain that the final things she heard were Mae speaking in a panic...
An indeterminate amount of time later is where this small tale will pick up. About a day or so later. The monster jolted awake, yet not on cold stone, no. She found herself in a familiar, much brighter place, a damp towel at her forehead for what good it did, and a lingering...soreness. From exertion, likely, but...
What happened to her? "Oh! You're finally awake!" Omen could hear Mae's voice from the entrance to the room, before a Meicrackmon darted over to hug the Wispmon. There were a lot of words that could be said here, but ultimately none were. Until the veil of silence was broken by Mae.
"...I went to the Labyrinth because I couldn't see what future it held. And I know you said you were going treasure hunting..."
"I'm fine." Omen was lying through her teeth. This was something Mae herself was notorious for doing, too. "No. You're not. Tell me what happened, please..."
...What followed was a fractured recollection of the day prior. The Fatebreaker listened, before sliding Omen her D-Terminal--still with the notification unread. "Someone might be waiting for you. It's...clear you haven't had the best day, but...I know spending time with people you care about can help with that..."
