Awaken, Paledramon! (For Fun)

"I officially hate you, Adrian," Shoutmon complained as he and his partner wandered across the Desolate Tundra in search of a certain troublesome Digimon. The red music dragon not only had earmuffs in place of his usual headphones, but he was also wearing two scarves, a puffy jacket and some specially made thermal gloves... and he was STILL cold!
"I'm not digging this weather either, you know," Adrian said back as he was wearing his own wintertime gear, "Blame that Digimon out here who's terrifying Snowflake Village. Can't you just use your fire to warm yourself up?"
"Doing that uses up my energy. I gotta save as much of it as I can for the fight against this thing."
You're probably wondering why Adrian and Shoutmon, two avid dislikers of cold places, are now wandering across the Desolate Tundra now in the first place. Well, it is to search for a Digimon, but there's more to it than that. These two had been hired by the Digimon of Snowflake Village to find and take care of an enemy Digimon who had been killing and loading other Digimon around the village. Leaving Gem with Skye and Rory, Adrian and Shoutmon accepted the job request and are now out in search of this one Digimon. The only problem was... they were in the middle of an icy tundra in such low temperatures that Japan doesn't often see.
"When we're done, I say we go straight to somewhere nice and sunny... like Whitewater or the Binary Archipelago. Just somewhere that doesn't resemble a big bowl of ice cream!"
"One would think fire Digimon wouldn't have a problem in the cold..." Adrian mumbled with a sigh. The sooner they completed their job, the better.

this'll make things easier Thankfully, other than the large snowy hill a little off into the distance and a few small bumps along the snow-covered ground, it was a fairly flat land and easy to see any incoming threats for quite a distance.
Not-so-thankfully, it didn't help with threats that may already be present. As the pair trudged along their uncomfortable journey, several bumps along the ground began to stir. Shoutmon would then sense the digital signals of nearly a dozen Digital Signals grow in strength as several SnowGoblimon rose from the snowy landscape, surrounding the pair! Then one much stronger than the rest emerged in front of them, chuckling as he had already one. A Hyougamon, the Ogremon wannabe with a club of pure ice in his hands.
"Hoo-mans and Shoutmon... Give us stuff. Or no walk away!" The eloquent Digimon stated, a crazed look in his eye.
"If you're failing to understand what our esteemed leader is trying to imply, he is simply asking you to provide us with all of your bits, food, and any valuables that are on your person, or else we will beat you both to death," One of the SnowGoblimon stated, in a rather posh British accent. "This is a robbery, I'm afraid."

As Adrian and Shoutmon trekked on forward, Adrian could swear he could see movement up ahead in the distance. Not the movement of one thing, but of a whole lot of things. Shoutmon stopped in his tracks as he could feel the digital signatures of about a dozen Digimon getting closer. "Adrian, stop! I can feel the signals of a lot of Digimon coming our way right now..."
The two partners would stand back-to-back as they were eventually surrounded by several SnowGoblimon, led by one Hyougamon. The pair were expecting to face against just one tough Digimon, not a whole squad of them. The Hyougamon would speak first in caveman-like dialect, asking for the very not specific "stuff." The icy Ogremon had a crazed look in his eye as well, which made Adrian very uncomfortable. "Uh... might wanna be more specific there, buddy?"
Then one of the SnowGoblimon translated for them in a posh-sounding accent, saying their leader was requesting Adrian and Shoutmon give up their food, bits and anything else valuable, or risk getting beaten to death. Well, at least now I know they choose their leaders based on strength rather than intelligence... Adrian thought as he and Shoutmon looked bemused by that revelation.
After Adrian and Shoutmon took the time to process the situation, they both recovered and regained their game faces. "So, let me guess: you lot do this often to Digimon that just so happen to be passing through here? They don't have enough for you all to be satisfied with, so you just decide to kill and load them, right? Or do I have the wrong guys?"

Dang. Hoping you were gonna take the bait "No get stuff if kill," Hyogamon explained, rolling his eyes as if he were talking to an idiot. "Only rob and beat. No kill."
The SnowGoblimon was about to speak up, but then the snow around started to ripple as something seemed to approach from above. Dropping down from seemingly out of nowhere was an oddly-recolored dinosaur Digimon that crashed right on top of the Hyogamon, pushing a wave of snow out in all directions, knocking away the SnowGoblimon as the Hyogamon lay crushed underneath the dino Digimon.
It looked like a Tyrannomon, yet a half-assed recolor. For this was not a regular Tyrannomon, but the author's OC (do not steal plz), and the true encounter for this For Glory...
...FrosTyrannomon!
The big dino let out a loud roar as all the SnowGoblimon scattered, and it scooped up the fallen Hyogamon and promptly bit him in half, the bandit leader's data fading away into the FrosTyrannomon's as it was promptly loaded. It seemed a little more pacified after having fed, but then it looked towards Adrian and Shoutmon. Perhaps it had room for another light snack...

"Oh..." Shoutmon muttered as he sweatdropped, a light tint of blush appearing on his cheeks. Maybe it wasn't the brightest thing to assume the very first Digimon he saw was the one they were looking for. "Well, we're looking for a specific Digimon right now, so we really don't have time to play around with petty thieves like you lot. Move aside or else someone is going to get hurt."
Before any of them could respond, Shoutmon could feel something was off... another Digimon was approaching, more powerful this time. But that couldn't be right? Suddenly, a new Digimon came falling from the sky and landed on Hyogamon, knocking all the SnowGoblimon away as well as Adrian and Shoutmon. "Aaaaaugh!"
Adrian would be the first to pick himself up somewhat, and he would see the giant ice-dinosaur Digimon firsthand as it picked up the fallen Hyogamon and bit the thief right in half, his data fading and being loaded right into the dinosaur itself. "Hooooooly shit..." Adrian muttered right as Shoutmon looked up at the Digimon that had just crashed the party.
"FrosTyrannomon..." Shoutmon said. "A variant of Tyrannomon that can survive in a cold hell such as this... that must be our target." Right after Shoutmon finished speaking, the FrosTyrannomon then looked towards the duo, presumably to have another light snack.
"And we must be on the menu," Adrian said as he got himself up, his Digivice arm extended out. "It's do or die time, Shoutmon! Digivolve!"
"Shoutmon, Evolution! SuperShoutmon!" The red dragon would glow and morph into a similar looking but clearly cooler red dragon, complete with a belt, scars, facial paint and a badass yellow scarf. "You're gonna have to work for it if you wanna munch on me, Frosty!" SuperShoutmon would then inhale and breathe out a powerful stream of fire right at the icy Tyrannomon-like Digimon. "Fire Stream!" Shoutmon digivolves to SuperShoutmon and uses "Fire Stream" on FrosTyrannomon.
Moves Fire Stream: SuperShoutmon breathes out a stream of fire that can lock on to a single opponent. Cooldown is two posts.

Admittedly, he's not much of a talker FrosTyrannomon didn't seem fazed or impressed by his newfound quarry's sudden evolution. He simply let out a growl and prepared himself for a battle. Up here in the Northern wilderness, some days you gotta work harder than others just to keep yourself fed. Which was why when the opportunity to feed yourself on delicious, warm, dragonic morsels presented itself, you had to take it!
FrosTyrannomon's quarry's new evolved form let loose a stream of flames. A reasonable decision when encountering an icy foe, using flames to melt them away. But FrosTyrannomon was no mere icicle to disappear along with the morning frost! Opening his large maw, he took in a big gulp of air, then swallowed up the SuperShoutmon's fiery blast! Sure, breathing in the same fire that came out of someone else's mouth probably wasn't the most sanitary thing in the world, but a dino has to do what a they gotta do in order to survive in this cruel world!
But just eating up SuperShoutmon's attack wasn't all that happened, as the air around FrosTyrannomon seemed to grow even colder, as if absorbing those flames powered up his own cold-element somehow! How that made any scientific sense... well... scientific sense went out the window when the icy digital t-rex came into the picture! - FrosTyrannomon swallows up Super Shoutmon's Fire Stream with his own Polar Opposite shield skill. Because the move he blocked was fire/heat-based, his next ice-themed attack is boosted by 50%!
[Active] 6. Polar Opposite - The user opens his big maw and sucks in one projectile attack, swallowing it whole. The attack is converted into energy and powers up the user's next ice-elemental attack by 30%, or 50% if the attack was fire or heat-based. Shield skill, so piercing says no and whatnot. Naturally, since SuperShoutmon was fighting an ice Digimon, he figured a powerful fire attack would be extra effective against it. It was basic rock paper scissors logic, fire beats ice after all. However, that's not entirely what played out here. Obviously, Adrian and SuperShoutmon should've figured that the FrosTyrannomon would inhale and swallow up the fire breath attack like it was a spaghetti noodle. That was just pure battle tactics 101 right there.
"Did... did that thing just eat my fire?!" SuperShoutmon asked, still not able to believe his own eyes after what he had just seen. "Dude, that's so gross, that fire came out of my mouth and everything!"
"And I thought you were willing to eat anything, SuperShoutmon," Adrian commented, still surprised by the move the FrosTyrannomon pulled himself. "And is it just me, or is the air around this guy even colder now?"
"Tch... just what we need, more cold weather in this damn tundra." SuperShoutmon increased his grip strength on his mic staff at this point. He hated the cold so freaking much, so this thing being even colder now was not helping much at all. "If fire isn't gonna work on this overgrown snowman, then I'll just bash it instead!"
With his staff now charged with energy, SuperShoutmon dashed forward towards the FrosTyrannomon and leapt upward, spinning his mic staff before swinging the thing right down on top of FrosTyrannomon's head. "Beat Baton!" With firing from a distance not working, SuperShoutmon decides to get up close and personal with a "Beat Baton" attack!
Moves Beat Baton: SuperShoutmon charges his mic staff up with powerful soul energy before striking at the opponent, doing much more damage than a standard attack. Cooldown is one post.

While it was certainly a rude gesture to swallow up people's fire, it was just as rude to breathe fire on other people, especially if they thought the other person would dislike it. Honestly speaking, other than the whole "wanting to kill Shoutmon and eat him" thing, it was Adrian and his partner who was in the wrong! Or at least, that's FrosTyrannomon's line of reasoning. He can't be the bad guy, because this story's all about him, right?
Regardless, the fight continued on, with SuperShoutmon making the wise decision not to use any fire-related attacks for the time being. That made sense, and he instead called upon the power of his own spirit and the magic of brute force, swinging down with a microphone staff infused with the power of his very soul.
And the big, beefy dino decided to take the attack head-on, lifting his body up to let the attack slam him in the chest, pushing him back a bit as his clawed feet skid across the icy terrain. Pain flared up as the impact reverberated throughout his entire body, but he held firm. In fact, he intended to use the fact that SuperShoutmon decided to get in close to his advantage! He stepped forward, reaching out with his large claws on either side of his smaller quarry, intending to lock him into his next attack's range. He opened up his big maw once more, and instead of biting or absorbing anything, he instead let out a breath of cold air.
Frigid cold, in fact. Cold enough to deal a severe amount of damage to anyone unfortunate to be standing in front of the FrosTyrannomon like, for example, anyone moving in to strike at him up close!
And powered up by swallowing up SuperShoutmon's attack the previous turn, this powerful move would be sure to hurt a ton!
- FrosTyrannomon takes SuperShoutmon's attack head-on, then tries to take advantage of the limited distance between them to fire off a point-blank Frozen Burst, powered up by his previous fire-eating maneuver!
[Active] 5. Frozen Burst - A move so grand, it doesn't even get a cold-themed pun. A fierce burst of icy air that deals heavy damage and freezes any Digimon to their very Digicore. Cooldown: 4 Posts.

As SuperShoutmon swung his mic staff down onto the FrosTyrannomon, the icy dinosaur shifted his body so that the staff would hit its chest and cause it to be pushed back a bit along the frozen terrain. Alright, so it wasn't the bonk on the head that SuperShoutmon initially wanted, but it was good enough for him!
Unfortunately, that was the ONLY good thing that would be happening to SuperShoutmon at this very moment. FrosTyrannomon stepped forward despite the pain, grabbing onto the red dragon with his claws. "Guh!" SuperShoutmon yelped in response, dropping his microphone staff in the process. This was a sure sign that things were going to go bad.
"SuperShoutmon!" Adrian called out to his partner with great worry.
"Grrr! Let go of me, you great... big..." SuperShoutmon tried to say, losing all sense of words as he realized the FrosTyrannomon was opening its mouth, and he could see the cold energy beginning to build up. SuperShoutmon really only had two words to give to this scenario: "Oh no."
There was no way to avoid it. SuperShoutmon took the ice blast attack head-on, and thanks to FrosTyrannomon snacking on SuperShoutmon's fire earlier, the blast was even COLDER now. He couldn't help but scream in absolute pain during the whole thing. "AAAAAAAAAAUGH! GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!"
"SUPERSHOUTMON!" Adrian called out again to his suffering partner. Once FrosTyrannomon's attack was finished, SuperShoutmon would just remain there, not moving all too much and the life almost drained from his eyes. Were he to be dropped, he would simply just lay there, attempting to get up but finding it a task much easier said than done.
"Cold... cold... cold... so cold..." SuperShoutmon continued to mutter to himself, his skin absolutely stinging from frostbite. It looked as if he wouldn't be able to continue the fight... or if he could, he wouldn't be able to get up soon enough before FrosTyrannomon dealt the finishing blow!

With SuperShoutmon weakened so badly, it was almost laughable how weak this opponent was. FrosTyrannomon was expecting a hard, dragged-out fight and instead his prey had fallen victim to one of his most basic tricks! He had prepared himself to have to work for today's meal but instead it looked like he wasn't gonna have to work very hard in the slightest!
Still, this may have made the dangerous predator perhaps a little cocky. But could you blame him? This opponent looked to be so weak! If he weren't an ice-breathing dinosaur Digimon he'd be drooling as his meal was almost served, but instead ice crystals formed around his gaping maw as they trickled off as he opened his jaw wide as he prepared to bite down hard on his opponent.
Was his opponent really going to go down this easily, though? Well, of course not! Probably. It would be kind of weird for Shoutmon and Adrian to give up so easily, but hey, at least it would take everyone by surprise!
- FrosTyrannomon goes for a basic attack 'cause he's all cocky that his little trick worked out so well.

Things were looking bad for Adrian and Shoutmon. One would think that fire would easily beat ice, and that kind of thinking definitely made Shoutmon a bit cockier in response. All it took was a well-placed powered-up version of an already insanely powerful move against the red dragon to have him nearly at the Village of Beginnings' front step. Or that's where he would be going, if his opponent didn't have a case of the munchies.
But they did, as evident by the ice crystals forming at the FrosTyrannomon's maw as opposed to drool. This looked to be the end; FrosTyrannomon had Shoutmon right where he wanted him, and now he was going to take this chance to munch on him! Adrian could only watch in horror as the ice Digimon went down for the bite...
"No... no, no, no this can't be where it ends!" Adrian cried to himself as he watched from a few feet away. "Shoutmon! Shoutmon, you have to get up! I know you, you're not a quitter, especially not in a fight!"
"Cold... cold... cold...!"
"You can't die like this, Shoutmon! You have to get back up! For Skye, Luneth, Rory, Gem... and for me! SHOUTMOOOOOON!"
"ALTERNATE DIGIVOLUTION LINE ACTIVATE."
"What-?" Adrian said with surprise as he looked down at his Digivice watch. Instead of its usual red color, now that color had been replaced with more of an icy blue.
"Shoutmon, Evolution!"
The sudden light of evolution would surely have interrupted FrosTyrannomon's basic attack long enough for Shoutmon to Digivolve. Something was much different this time, though... instead of evolving into SuperShoutmon, this time what Shoutmon turned into was more akin to a blue ice dragon with white fur and red eyes. "Paledramon!"
"Pale... dramon... is that a new Champion form?" Adrian asked, taken aback by this sudden revelation.
"Whoa..." Paledramon said in awe as he looked at his new claws, "I'm... not bothered by the cold anymore? In fact, I kinda want to feel more of it!" Paledramon smirked as he looked back at FrosTyrannomon. "Bring on the cold, you big snowmon! Your all-you-can-eat buffet just came to an end!"

It was FrosT's turn to be surprised now. What was supposed to be a warm and toasty snack had now become just another frozen dinner, and too many of those was just plain unhealthy! Well... at least it would give FrosT an excuse to hit the gym after all this!
But first thing's first, FrosT had to finish off his prey in order to get his banquet meal. Paledramon, huh? Well, whatever his name was this guy was going to pale in comparison to FrosT's might! Gritting his teeth, the icy dinosaur Digimon raised one of his claws and swiped down on his enemy.
However, this wasn't an ordinary claw attack! FrosT's claw was coated in a cold mist that made even this frozen environment seem warm by comparison. If Paledramon could truly handle the cold like he said, then surely he'd have no problems taking this, right?
Well... no. Because FrosT was a hunter who hunted other icy Digimon. And he'd be a terrible hunter if all his prey went around resisting his attacks, after all!
FrosT uses his Cold Cut claw attack to try and tear into Paledramon. If it hits, it'll slow and weaken him for a post, as well as deal some damage!

FrosTyrannomon wouldn't waste any time trying to attack Paledramon after he Digivolved. The newly evolved ice dragon Digimon watched as Fros's claw became coated in a cold mist, before that very same claw came slashing down at Paledramon. Paledramon himself felt that he could take this attack head-on, but Adrian knew better. He quickly pulled out a card and slashed it. "Digi-Modify! Mirror Shield Activate!"
"Wha-?"
Suddenly, Paledramon's arm gained a shield made of pure light right as FrosT's claw collided with it. The attack would then be successfully reflected back at the ice dinosaur Digimon. Naturally, Paledramon was confused. "Adrian, what the heck?! I coulda been able to tank that attack no biggie! I'm practically immune to ice now!"
Adrian ignored his partner as he scanned the FrosTyrannomon. Turns out, Adrian's hunch was right. "You sure about that? If that move hit you, you would've been hurt bad by the extra frost. It's able to just ignore your immunity, basically."
"What?! Oh boo. Well, guess I gotta just try extra hard to hurt him!" Paledramon would then extend his arms out as a bunch of snow and ice quickly began to form itself into an icicle. This icicle would then spin rapidly before it shot out towards the FrosTyrannomon. "Ice-I-Drill!" Adrian uses "Mirror Shield" to reflect FrosTyrannomon's "Cold Cut" move.
Paledramon uses "Ice-I-Drill" on FrosTyrannomon.

This became a mess somehow but I don't really care. Post is late enough as it is. Present: FrosTyrannomon Notes: This is a For Fun now. C&D's Polar Opposite - 4/4 C Frozen Burst - 3/4 C Cold Cut - 1/2 CIce Club - 0/1 CLike a frozen fool, the Paledramon was going to take, yet something peculiar happened. Like a nerd, the sack of meat that accompanied the former-Shoutmon pulled out a card and slid it through his Digivice like a complete dork. FrosT's attack hit some kind of shield made of pure light that reflected all the damage from his single attack from his level or below. Sadly, FrosT wasn't higher than Paledramon's level, so he wasn't able to just have his attack be reduced.
But by the wonders and laws of legal jargon and specific wording, the card didn't seem to reflect the attack itself, just the damage, so any lingering effects that would have affected Paledramon wouldn't also affect FrosT. And as to how FrosT's own claw could have gotten reflected back at FrosT without any gruesome implications was lost on the white dino Digimon, they decided to skip past that part for the convenience of the plot.
Regardless, FrosT was pissed as he rolled his eyes towards Adrian while the human was having a quick verbal exchange with his partner. Unfortunately, Adrian wasn't able to fully scan FrosT, as they would require a full post for him to do, which he would be completely unable to do seeing as he had just used a D-Arc card earlier! Sadly, since DFRP moved away from 3.5 Edition, Tamer Feats have been significantly nerfed and he just doesn't have the action economy he used to anymore.
Regardless, FrosT waited patiently for Adrian and Paledramon to finish talking, even allowing Paledramon to throw a spinning icicle at him. Granted, FrosT had Digimon use icicles to fight him before, but this ability of Paledramon was certainly... a twist.
Puns aside, it freaking hurt as FrosT got drilled. The dino Digimon threw his hand up to catch it like a badass only to have it tear through part of his hand. That was both painful and irritating, and FrosT expressed that by screaming very loud and very, very angrily.
But if his opponent was gonna be using new tricks, then FrosT would have to use a new trick of his own! Seeing as he hadn't used this ability before, he might as well test it out on his annoying opponent! So FrosT charged the Paledramon, forming a club of ice in his hand and slammed it down towards his opponent. After all, chunks of ice should be used to bludgeon people to death, not drill them! - FrosT is angry and a little hurt. His feelings are also hurt because his attack didn't work, but I doubt you care about that, you monster. Anyways, he uses a move he loaded from the Hyougamon from the very beginning of the thread.

Paledramon's "Ice-I-Drill" attack worked like a charm! After all of the scanning and back-and-forth between Adrian and Shoutmon, the FrosTyrannomon seemed to just expect to block the attack with merely his hand alone. Unfortunately, it would've been like trying to catch an actually spinning drill, so of course the results were exactly the same here. FrosT cried out in pain as a result.
"Pro-tip: don't catch things that are spinning, especially with just one hand," Paledramon taunted the FrosTyrannomon afterwards. "Actually, KEEP doing that. It'll work out great in the end for us."
Of course the FrosTyrannomon wasn't exactly thrilled about it, that much was clear. What made it obvious was when he began running right for Paledramon, with a club of ice forming in his hand before he lifted it up and slammed it down onto the ice dragon. Paledramon wasn't prepared for this at all and took the hit head-on, causing him to slide back a few feet thanks to the impact. "AUGH, that's smarts-!"
"Paledramon!"
"Ugh, you hit way too hard," Paledramon growled as he picked himself up, rubbing the spot on his head where he got hit. "Adrian, let's show this icy barbarian some other neat tricks up our sleeves!"
"Way ahead of ya," Adrian said, pulling out another card and slashing it. "Digi-Modify! Gargomon Activate!"
Gargomon's arm guns would then magically appear on Paledramon's own arms before he smirked, aiming them right at the FrosTyrannomon. "Eat this, sucker! Gargo Laser!" The arm guns would then start rapidly shooting energy bullets right at the FrosTyrannomon. Surely they wouldn't be expecting something like this!
Adrian uses the "Gargomon" card on Paledramon, allowing him to fire a "Gargo Laser" attack at FrosTyrannomon.
