"Her Majesty, Queen Vespa, gave us standing orders for what to do if we happen to run across the Deserter. We are to apprehend the traitor and bring him back to the hive so that she may punish him personally for abandoning the hive." The Jewelbeemon, Thresh, explained as he waved his spear in Tartar's direction. "You will be coming with us, traitor. Either willingly, or in pieces."
"Wait, WHAT?!" Taranza shouted incredulously. The Silkosamon was shocked to learn that their mother had essentially put out a bounty on his half-brother's head.
Next to him, Tartar had also frozen up in shock, as he processed the royal guard's statement. As it sunk in, the Kokuwamon X backed away from Taranza, with a pained look of betrayal on his face. "Was... was this why you wanted to 'catch up' so badly? To set me up and drag me back there?"
"N-no, brother. I swear, I had no idea about any of this!" Taranza desperately tried to explain. It was true, after all. The prince really DID have on idea about their mother had done.
However, Tartar refused to believe the Silkosamon's words, clenching his pincers in a simmering anger. "Spare me your hollow lies, brother. If you want to bring me back to that hellhole that calls itself a hive, you'll have to carry me there in pieces."
Behind him, the rest of the Xros Army moved to stand beside Tartar, pointing their various weapons at the five guards and making it obviously clear what their stance on the matter was.
Poor Taranza was caught in the middle of this standoff, completely heartbroken and unsure of what to do.

Kaya and the others couldn't believe what they were hearing the JewelBeemon say. Tartar's and Taranza's mother was willing to go as far as to trick Tartar into being apprehended, just because he didn't want to stay at their hive? Kohaku in particular looked especially hurt... he went and defended that piece of filth Taranza, when he should've just listened to Tartar from the start! He felt like such an idiot at that moment.
"You rotten disgrace of a brother..." Kohaku growled at Taranza as he glared at the Silkosamon, clearly not believing that he didn't know about this plan. And judging by the looks on Kaya's, Hawkeye's and Ruri's faces, they didn't believe Taranza either. To them, he was just as Tartar had described him to be. "I'll deal with you later, you traitor!"
"Brother! NOW!"
"Firecracker Smokescreen!" The Falcomon leapt up into the air and dropped a few bamboo bombs onto the ground. It would damage the enemies in the area, but that wasn't the reason for using a Rookie level attack like this. "Kaya! Hawkeye! Act while they're blinded!"
"Right!" Kaya called out, revealing her own Digivice and activating her Digisoul. "DNA... Full... Charge!"
"Hawkmon, Warp Digivolve to... Garudamon!"
In the Hawkmon's place was now a giant, birdman-like Digimon with blonde hair, red and white feathers, and a yellow beak and claws. He had just Digivolved straight to the Ultimate level, ready to take on multiple Stingmon soldiers at once! Acting immediately, Hawkeye's feathers would glow green before he shot a wave of them at rapid fire towards three Stingmon in particular. "Rapid Feather!" Kohaku uses his "Firecracker Smokescreen" ability to distract the enemies, while dealing some damage.
Moves Firecracker Smokescreen: From within his plummage, Kohaku pulls out a cluster of exploding bamboo bombs and drops them on top of his enemies, damaging all foes within a 10m diameter. Cooldown is two posts.
Cooldowns -Firecracker Smokescreen (0/2) Then, Hawkeye warp digivolves to Garudamon and used "Rapid Feather" on a total of three Stingmon.
Moves Rapid Feather (RAM Upgrade Giga): Hawkeye charges multiple feathers with green energy and fires them in front of him in rapid succession, hitting one to three enemies at a time.
Passives Deadshot (Combat Passive): Hawkeye's aim is far superior to most Digimon. Each attack has its accuracy increase by 30%, making it more likely that his attack will hit its target.

Taranza could only watch in horror as the situation continued to devolve even further into a gigantic mess. The gentle Silkosamon had only wanted to seize a chance to reconnect with his brother, only for the horrid actions of his mother to end up causing said brother and his friends to think that their encounter had been nothing but a trap. However, Taranza was not going to let this mess escalate even further, positioning himself directly in front of the Jewelbeemon's spear. "Enough, Thresh! I won't let you lay a hand on my brother, so stand. Down."
Thresh's response to that command was to use the shaft of his spear to coldly smack Taranza to the side, sending the prince sprawling to the ground from the force of the blow. "Queen Vespa's orders are absolute. You don't have the authority to override that command, my lord."
It was at that point that Kaya's friends made their move, with Kohaku threw down some smoke bombs. Due to the level difference, the guards weren't hurt very much by the bombs, with Thresh not even being phased by the attack at all due to being an Ultimate-level Digimon. However, the smokescreen's was successful at fulfilling its real purpose by leaving the Stingmons open to Hawkeye's follow-up attack, where he fired sharp feather at three of the guards
The 4 Stingmons all backed up a few steps to recollect themselves after the combo attack, while Thresh growled and and shifted his spear to his right hand. The Jewelbeemon then charged at Hawkeye with his left arm's forearm blade aimed directly at the Garudamon's chest, the blade crackling with electricity as Thresh prepared to strike. "Venom Strike!"
"Well, if Hawkeye's gonna keep the leader busy, then it's the least we can do to keep the other ones busy." Octavio said with a smirk as he readied his Xros Loader. "Pair up everyone! We're gonna break out a Triple Xros right here!"
"NOW you're speaking my language!" Belle cheered, as she and Cecilia both fused into their Kazemon Xros Form. Next to them, Tartar and Soundblaster merged into an AtlurBallistamon, and Soundwave and Laserbeak formed a more traditional Xros Form, with Laserbeak turning into an electric guitar for Soundwave (who somehow gained a pair of red sunglasses in the process).
"Kazemon!" "AtlurBallistamon!" "HEAVY METAL BALLISTAMON."
With the three X2 forms ready to go, with Octavio and MetalKhimeramon by their sides, Kazemon taunted the Stingmons with a 'bring it on' gesture', daring them to make the first move. The Stingmons accepted the challenge, the entire quartet charging at the Xros army at once. Jewelbeemon abilities:
-Venom Strike: Thresh jabs an enemy with one of his forearm blades. Contrary to its name, the attack is not actually poisonous, instead delivering a powerful electric shock that disrupts the target's data and prevents them from using named attacks for one turn. 4 post cooldown.
-Hit-and-Run Tactics (passive): Thresh's fighting style primarily revolves around quickly striking his target's weak points, before immediately darting out of range of any possible counterattacks. However, a flaw of this fighting style is that he does leave himself open enough that any enemy attacks that do manage to connect will deal more damage to him than usual. (+25% speed and accuracy, -20% defense)

Ruri was seemingly the only one to notice how Taranza actively grabbed Thresh's spear, attempting to order the Jewelbeemon to stand down with fighting Tartar and the others. While it did little to nothing to actually stop him, it planted the seed in the Biyomon's mind... was Taranza truly telling the truth? Did he really not know about this ambush attempt ordered by his mother? Well, one thing's for sure... it was enough for Taranza to have at least ONE Digimon on his side for the moment! The Biyomon ran over to the Silkosamon after Thresh knocked him to the side, and offered to help the poor guy up. "Are you alright, Taranza? You need to get out of here, before you're caught in the crossfire for what is about to happen."
Kohaku's smoke bomb maneuver worked, and the Stingmons were all left wide-open to Hawkeye's attack. In the meantime, Kohaku and Ruri both decided that they'd put their new abilities from their studies to the test and properly join in the battle. "Falcomon Evolution! Peckmon!" "Biyomon Evolution! Kazemon!"
Both Kaya and Hawkeye were left speechless by this sudden Digivolution, both of them now sporting surprised anime reactions. "Since when could the two of you Digivolve?!"Thresh was left less than happy about Hawkeye pulling off his move, and decided that he was going to fight the Garudamon head-on all by himself. Hawkeye caught eye of the Jewelbeemon's left forearm blade charging up with electricity before he charged at Hawkeye himself. It was a simple maneuver for Hawkeye; he dashed to the side as Thresh came closing in, leaving him exposed for a counter attack. Hawkeye's right fist suddenly because covered with rock-like feathers as he slammed that fist right towards Thresh. "Rock Claw!"Meanwhile, the newly evolved Kohaku and Ruri would stand with the army as they fused into three separate forms, both of them making the "bring it on" gesture as well. The Stingmons all charged for them, and Kohaku and Ruri both responded with attacks of their own. "Kunai Wing!""Fairy Aether!"Combat Log: Hawkeye dodges Thresh's "Venom Strike" attack before countering with "Rock Claw" Moves Rock Claw: Feathers from Hawkeye's wings surround his claw, becoming has tough as literal boulders, before he sucker-punches the target. Taranza was honestly surprised that Ruri was actually concerned about him, seeing as this whole misunderstanding had basically caused everyone to hate his guts. But even as the Biyomon advised him to stand back in order to stay out of the crossfire, the prince still got back up with a look of determination on his face. "N-no. I c-can't just stand by and do nothing. I won't let Thresh and the others do this!"
While Ruri and Kohaku digivolved to join the fight themselves, Taranza aimed a hand at the nearest Stingmon and readied his strongest attack, conjuring six glowing orbs and launching them at his target. "Mystic Bomber!"
The guard (Guard # 3) recoiled as the glowing orbs all exploded in his face, leaving him wide open to Ruri's attack as well. Irritated by the combo, the guard charged at Ruri, preparing to stab her with one of his stingers. The other 3 Stingmon guards were all tied up in dealing with the Xros Army, while Stingmon #2 was at least able to deflect the incoming steel feather with his spear before throwing the weapon at the Peckmon like a javelin (resorting to brawling with the X2 Kazemon with his bare hands afterwards).
Meanwhile, Thresh's reaction to Hawkeye's Rock Claw was to unleash his own counterattack, flash-stepping behind the Garudamon to evade his attack and stab him from behind with his spear. "You're too slow to hit me, Garudamon!" Taranza used: -Mystic Bomber: Taranza summons six glowing orbs that explode on contact after being thrown at an enemy. 4 turn CD. Outside of combat, a harmless variant of this ability can be used to light up dark spaces with no cooldown. (0/4)
Jewelbeemon abilities: -Lightning Counter: Thresh rapidly moves to dodge an incoming attack, flash-stepping behind the attacker in order to counterattack and strike them from behind with his spear or arm blades. 4 post cooldown. Much to the surprise of everyone there, Taranza now got involved into the fight, sending six glowing orbs right towards Guard #3 and leaving him wide open to Ruri's attack. Unfortunately, the Stingmon was not all too happy with that, and so he charged at the non-fused Kazemon in an attempt to stab her with one of his stingers. And of course, the Kazemon just stood there, her mind still processing what was going to happen.
Meanwhile, Kohaku could see the javelin spear coming straight for him. Not a problem for the Peckmon, sure, he could just easily deflect it or something. But in the corner of his eye, he could see the other Stingmon about to stab Ruri as well. Kohaku's eyes took on a more angry expression... there was no way in hell that he was going to let some stinking bug hurt his little sister. Kohaku leapt up, grabbing the javelin with his talons before throwing it right at Stingmon #3. "Don't touch my sister, you slimy insect!"
"Thanks, brother!" Ruri called out to Kohaku. With that out of the way, Stingmon #2 was in a perfect position for a pincer attack from the siblings, an opportunity that they would not pass up on. "Aether Blast!"
"Spiral Claw!"
Back with Hawkeye and Thresh, the JewelBeemon managed to flash-step his way away from the Garudamon's "Rock Claw" attack, then managed to stab said Garudamon in the shoulder with his spear. Thresh taunted that Hawkeye was too slow to hit him, before Hawkeye noticed that the spear was made entirely of metal. He reached for the spear and pulled it out of his shoulder as yellow-charged feathers magnetized themselves to the staff. Before Thresh could realize it, the "Thunder Slash" effect went off and would zap him with electricity!
"And you're not observant enough."
Hawkeye takes damage from Thresh's "Lightning Counter" before delivering a "Thunder Slash" attack right back.

Stingmon #3 reeled back in agony as the spear Kohaku threw back at him ended up impaling him right through the forearm. The wounded guard barely had enough time to pull the weapon out of his arm before being double-teamed by the Kazemon and Peckmon's attacks. The unlucky guard was sent flying backward by the combo and ended up crashing through a nearby flower shop's window.
Guard #1 was currently in a weapon lock with HM Ballistamon, blocking the guard's spear with his guitar, while Guard #4 and AtlurBallistamon were reenacting a scene from Metal Gear Rising. the Stingmon was rapidly punching away at AtlurBallistamon's chest (his spear having been broken in two) while the mechanical beetle simply took it without flinching.
Guard #2 tried to be opportunistic (and absolutely despicable) by breaking off from dueling X2 Kazemon in order to try and attack Kaya with a powerful spear thrust, only to find his attack interrupted by MetalKhimeramon cleanly cutting the spear's tip off with his Critical Arm. The Stingmon actually froze in shock at his weapon being broken so easily, but was broken out of this trance by a tap on the shoulder. Guard #2 turned around to look at the source, only to promptly collapse in pain after Kazemon X2 gave him a hard kick between the legs.
Meanwhile, Thresh's eyes widened as Hawkeye electrocuted the spear, his body visibly convulsing as the electricity coursed through him. He would eventually wrench his spear out of Hawkeye's grip (and the Garudamon's shoulder), but the damage had already been done. Thresh backed up to give him some space from his opponent, only to see how his men were actually getting their butts handed to them. "You're all absolutely pathetic. When this is over, I'll make sure that Her Majesty is promptly informed of your incompetence!"
How did these idiots ever manage to graduate from basic training, let alone manage to become Royal Guards?!. Thresh thought to himself in irritation. "Fine, then. I guess I'll have to take care of you interlopers myself. Spiral Gale!"
The Jewelbeemon would then rapidly twirl his spear over his head to generate a powerful cyclone capable of sweeping up everyone nearby, be they friend or foe. Taranza used: -Mystic Bomber: (1/4)
Jewelbeemon abilities: --Spiral Gale: Thresh rapidly twirls his spear, generating a swirling whirlwind around him that damages enemies in a 50m radius. In addition to this, the strong winds clears away any lingering smoke, fog, or dust within its radius. 5 post cooldown. (0/5) -Lightning Counter: Thresh rapidly moves to dodge an incoming attack, flash-stepping behind the attacker in order to counterattack and strike them from behind with his spear or arm blades. 4 post cooldown. Kohaku and Ruri couldn't help but give each other a high-five after their solid combo attack against one of the Stingmon guards. They were just so proud of each other! Sure, the guard crashed through the window of a flower shop and they would probably have to explain that to the owners at some point, but hey, credit where credit was due. With that Stingmon out of commission for at least a bit, the siblings decided to focus their attention on the other enemies.
They jumped into battle to see Guards #1 and #4 both being idiots. One was in some sort of weapons lock with HM Ballistamon while the other was just constantly punching a non-flinching AtlurBallistamon. Both brother and sister sweatdropped before picking their specific targets. Kohaku dashed up to Guard #4 and dealt a surprise kick attack with his talons to the Stingmon's side. "Your strategy sucks," Kohaku taunted the guard after kicking him.
While Kohaku was busy with that, Ruri aimed for Guard #1 with a wind attack, creating strings of wind in her fingertips before she shot them right at the Stingmon. "Hurricane Wave!"
Meanwhile, Guard #2 probably pulled the most despicable act of the bunch. Kaya watched with horror as the guard broke away from his duel with the X2 Kazemon and tried to thrust his spear right towards the human. Thankfully, she was saved when MetalKhimeramon first cut the tip of the Stingmon's spear off, giving the X2 Kazemon a chance to kick the Stingmon in the crotch. Once she could catch her breath, Kaya looked up at the metal amalgamation. "You... you saved my life, Metal... thank you so much."
As for Hawkeye, he was just happy he could get that one solid electric attack on Thresh. He smirked as he watched the JewelBeemon's body convulse thanks to the lightning, and even began laughing when he saw how mad Thresh got that his troops were all acting like utter buffoons. "This is the best that your hive has to offer? You offer a good fight, but those you bring with you make me laugh."
That seemed to be the breaking point for Thresh. He began to twirl his spear over his head, and before long a powerful cyclone began forming and pulling up anyone nearby. Hawkeye only thought of one thing: "KAYA!"
Sure enough, Kaya was right in the cross-hairs for the attack, with Kohaku and Ruri both being slammed into nearby walls because of it. Hawkeye landed in front of Kaya, planting his feet into the ground before covering Kaya with his wings. "Steel Protection!" And just like that, those wings would then turn into steel as both Kaya and Hawkeye were protected by the strong winds. Everyone else was more than likely not as lucky.
It would be clear to Thresh by now just what Hawkeye's biggest weakness on the battlefield was...
Hawkeye uses "Steel Protection" to protect himself and Kaya from Thresh's "Spiral Gale" attack.
Moves
Steel Protection: Hawkeye's wings become steel once more, but this time he folds his wings in front of him and those around him, stopping all attacks for one post. Cooldown is three posts.

Passives Front Kick (Combat Passive): Thanks to his strong and powerful legs, any basic attack Kohaku makes that involves his legs will have the same amount of power as a 0-CD named move!
Weak Point (Combat Passive): Kohaku has a way with finding his opponent's weak points the longer he battles them. Every time Kohaku successfully lands an attack on an enemy, that enemy gains a single stack that decreases their defense by 10%. This stack increases by one after each attack, capping out at 5 stacks and resulting in a 50% defense decrease. As Kaya thanked MetalKhimeramon for saving her, the metal giant looked at her softly and nodded his head. "I was made... to protect others. Even if you are not one of us, I will do my best to keep you safe."
After Thresh's cyclone had ended, the Jewelbeemon was the only one on his side still standing, while Octavio and his crew were still capable of fighting (Octavio having taken shelter behind MetalKhimeramon to protect himself from the wind). Seeing that his own men were now lying on the ground, moaning in pain, Thresh tightened his grip on his spear while gritting his teeth. "Useless, useless, USELESS! Why are you all so USELESS?!"Utterly infuriated by the situation, along with his wounded pride, the Royal Guard firmly stabbed his spear into the ground and reached into a pouch on his waist to retrieve a black, spiky device that immediately put Octavio on edge. "No, that can't be..." Octavio whispered in horror. How the hell did this JewelBeemon get his hands on a Darkness Loader?! Darkness Loader in hand, Thresh's look of rage warped into one of sinister smugness. "Well, if these pathetic weaklings can't beat you on their own, they should still be useful as Xros fodder. Darkness, Xros ... GrandisKuwagamon!"The four Stingmon guards all let out cries of pain and terror as their bodies were painfully broken down into data and forced to combine with Thresh's, coating the Jewelbeemon in a dark, pulsing cocoon. After just a few minutes, the cocoon would violent explode, sending up a dust cloud in the immediate area. A silhouette with a glowing red slowly marched out of the dust, the GrandisKuwagamon readying his claws as he emerged. "Zzzcrew our orderzzzz. Zzzcrew the Prinzze. Zzcrew EVERYTHING!" GrandisKuwagamon growled out, a feral tone in his voice as he buzzed angrily. Taranza backed up a bit at the Mega's words, now terrified since GrandisKuwagamon was basically stating that he didn't even care if the Spiderbeemon got caught in the crossfire or not. "Today... EVERYBODY DIEZZZZZ! RAAAAGGHHH!" "S**t." Octavio swore, as he watched the monster before him, the black insect clearly having snapped. " We have to bring this guy down now! Atlur, to me! Metal , cover us!" The amalgamate nodded, moving towards the berserk GrandisKuwagamon while firing off a trio of shots at the berserker with his Trident Revolver. Behind MetalKhimeramon, AtlurBallistamon sprinted over to Octavio so that the two Digimon could quickly Xros into ShogunOctomon X3. Between the X3 Digimon, Metal, Hawkeye, and their champion-level allies, they should have a decent chance at stopping this monster. MetalKhimeramon: -Trident Revolver: MetalKhimeramon fires three armor-piercing bullets at an enemy with his RizeGreymon arm. 4 post CD, full piercing. MetalKhimeramon had simply stated that protecting others was what he was made to do, promising to keep Kaya safe even if she wasn't a part of the army. Still, Kaya felt like she had to do something to show her gratitude towards the giant. "Metal, could you lean your head down towards me please?" Kaya asked the amalgamate. Upon doing as he was asked, Kaya would then lean in and kiss the big robot Digimon on the cheek. "The world needs more Digimon like you, Metal."
Once Thresh's attack had concluded, only he, Kaya, Hawkeye, and Octavio's army was left standing, while Kohaku and Ruri were joining the other Stingmons in being wiped out by the attack. Thresh himself was clearly ticked off at his men, demanding to know why they were all so useless. "Maybe if you were a better leader, you'd understand," Hawkeye told the JewelBeemon, smirking at how severely outnumbered he was now.
But it seemed that Thresh had a trump card of his own. He reached into a pouch on his waist and pulled out a device that looked like a demonic version of a Xros Loader. Kaya looked over at Octavio as he looked visibly horrified by the device that Thresh had. "Octavio, what is that thing?!" Kaya had asked the Xros General.
Then Thresh activated the device, and the four Stingmon guards all cried out in pain as their bodies were disintegrated and force to join with the JewelBeemon's data. But it wasn't just them... because Kohaku and Ruri were in a similar state, they too cried out in agony as their own bodies turned into pure data and joined with combining with Thresh, surrounding him in a cocoon of some kind. Kaya and Hawkeye both gasped as they saw what happened to those two poor kids.
"KOHAKU!!"
"RURI!!"
All was silent for a few minutes before Thresh's cocoon had violently exploded, covering the entire area in a dust cloud. The moment that the citizens in the immediate area all began to panic was when a scary looking silhouette with glowing red eyes had emerged from where the cocoon once stood. It had the appearance of a giant black bipedal bug with one glowing red eye, red spiky hair, giant claws, and orange wings in the shape of an X.
"What the heck... what is that?!" Kaya asked, still trying to process what the hell had just happened.
"Whatever it is, it just ate Kohaku and Ruri!" Hawkeye yelled out loud. "We can't fight it until we know how to get them out of there!" Hawkeye watched as MetalKhimeramon shot at the beast with his Trident Revolver gun. "Halt! Kohaku and Ruri are in there, don't harm it!"
Of course that wasn't going to stop the absolute state of chaos that Rosewood was in right now. Local law enforcement were doing whatever the heck they could to try and keep the peace while the rookie level citizens were all running around and screaming, as they should considering that a Mega-level monster was now attacking their city.
"Taranza, stay with me!" Kaya said as she grabbed onto the prince's hand and dragging him away from the chaos of the battle. A Rookie level Digimon was going to have no chance when fighting against a GrandisKuwagamon. Things were just going from bad to worse every second...

(OOC: A bit of appropriate battle music for this fight) MetalKhimeramon was absolutely confused as to why Kaya had kissed him. His knowledge of social skills was still highly incomplete, so he didn't understand the context of why she kissed him just for doing what he was built to do. Not that he had much time to ponder it while facing the berserk GrandisKuwagamon. "As for your question, Kaya? That... thing is the result of using a Darkness Loader, forcing others to Xros with the user against their will." ShogunOctomon X3 explained, with a disheartened look on Octavio's face. "Your friends are now just as much a part of this monster as Thresh and the Stingmons. I'm sorry, but the only way to free them is to either damage GrandisKuwagamon to the point it becomes too wounded to hold itself together or to find and destroy the Darkness Loader itself.""You will dezzztroy NOTHING!" GrandisKuwagamon shouted, his eye drifting between the three Ultimates facing him before focusing on Hawkeye, the cyclopean insect's mouth curving into a feral grin. "You. You will be my firzzzt prey for humiliating me."
The Mega growled as he channeled energy into his Gran Killers. The panicked wailing and moaning of his unwilling components in the back of his head (including Kohaku and Ruri, who had been assimilated entirely on accident) were not boding well for GrandisKuwagamon's sanity, only driving him further of the deep end. As his claws began to emit a strong orange glow, GrandisKuwagamon crossed his claws, sending an X-shaped energy wave flying straight towards his Garudamon foe. "SLASH WAVE!" ShogunOctomon X3 moved between the incoming attack and Hawkeye, attempting to backhand the attack back to its sender. As the attack connected with the mecha's hand, there was a moment of struggle between the two before, before the mecha ultimately lost the struggle due to the power difference between the X3 Digimon and the Mega-level insect. The Slash Wave ended up completely slicing off the mecha's left hand before continuing on and hitting ShogunOctomon X3 right in the chest, sending him flying backward until MetalKhimeramon caught the floating machine in his arms. "Darn it!" Octavio grumbled from the mecha's cockpit, angrily hitting a tentacle on the control panel as he stared at the mecha's ruined stump of an arm. As the battle raged on, Taranza could only watch numbly while Kaya dragged him away from the danger. "I've been such a fool... a naïve ignoramus who refused to see the truth that was right in front of him this whole time." MetalKhimeramon: -Trident Revolver: MetalKhimeramon fires three armor-piercing bullets at an enemy with his RizeGreymon arm. 4 post CD, full piercing. (1/4) -Heavy Firepower (passive): MetalKhimeramon's basic attacks deal as much damage as 0-CD named attacks.ShogunOctomon X3: -Backhand: The Octo-Knuckle delivers a backhand strike to deflect one incoming attack. If the enemy is using a close-range melee attack, the Octo-Knuckle also knocks the enemy backward and deals minor damage as it deflects the incoming blow. 4 post CD. (0/4)Taranza used: -Mystic Bomber: (3/4)Jewelbeemon abilities: -Spiral Gale:(2/5) -Lightning Counter: (3/4) -Venom Strike: (4/4)GrandisKuwagamon: -Armored Hunter (passive): GrandisKuwagamon's armored exoskeleton is very tough and durable, even if its weight slows him down a bit. Still won't stop him from viciously pursuing his prey, though. +40% defense, -10% speed. -Slash Wave: GrandisKuwagamon channels energy into his Gran Killer claws until they start to glow with an orange aura, then crosses his claws to launch an X-shaped energy wave powerful enough that it can only be fully blocked by OPT or Super Mega defenses. 3 post cooldown, partial piercing. (0/3)

Kaya couldn't believe what she was hearing as Octavio explained what had happened. Thresh had used a device called a "Darkness Loader" to force his Stingmon guards, as well as Kohaku and Ruri, to Xros with him into this monster. And the only way to be able to free them... was to fight them. "No... no, please, tell me there's another way! I can't hurt another friend again!"
"We don't appear to have any other options, Kaya!" Hawkeye said, trying to talk some sense into his partner before GrandisKuwagamon had chosen the Garudamon as his prey. He stood there and watched as an X-Shaped energy wave came flying at him until Octavio tried to intercept it. Unfortunately, Octavio's mech suit lost an arm in the process, as the attack was just too powerful.
"I can't do this..." Kaya said as she watched the scene play out. In the back of her mind, she knew that this monster had to be taken down... but she couldn't help but think back to when they fought Adrian and Shoutmon. How Kaya had hurt so many of her friends in so many different ways... even if it was the only way, she just couldn't do it. "I won't hurt them, Octavio! I can't hurt anyone else like that again!"
Things went from bad to worse when Hawkeye reverted back to a Hawkmon thanks to Kaya's refusal to fight. "K-Kaya, what are you doing?!" Hawkeye asked, taken aback by the sudden de-evolution. "I cannot fight GrandisKuwagamon like this!"
"We're not going to fight them," Kaya stated. "We're going to focus on getting the citizens out of here so no one else gets hurt. We can still be useful."
"Kaya, think about what you're saying; if GrandisKuwagamon remains, then Kohaku and Ruri are both going to remain trapped in there!"
"Someone else will come along, they always do! Adrian and Shoutmon live here, right?"
"Please reconsider this, Kaya! If fighting them is the only way to free them, then-"
"I REFUSE TO FIGHT ANY MORE OF MY FRIENDS!" Kaya yelled out loud to the heavens. There was a short pause before Kaya found herself falling to her knees, looking at the palms of her hands. "What am I doing...? Every time I think I'm growing as a person, something awful happens and I always end up reverting back to the stupid, stupid little girl that cries about everything! I know I have to fight them, I really do, but after what happened with Adrian, Shoutmon, Hana, Data and Rush... and even Luna... I can't go through that anymore..." Tears started falling from Kaya's face as she hugged herself tight. "Why am I so pathetic? Why was I chosen for this? I can't save anyone..."

Kaya's breakdown over not wanting to hurt her friends inside GrandisKuwagamon, and the resulting devolution of her partner back into a mere Hawkmon, was enough to snap Taranza out of his own spiral of self-loathing over the mess he'd unintentionally started. The Silkosamon would gently try and take Kaya's hands into his own and look the distraught teen in the eye. "Miss Kaya, I understand that the thought of hurting your friends terrifies you, but leaving them in their current state won't protect them. You're either forcing someone else to be the one to hurt them and force that monster to separate, or abandoning them to suffer as unwilling accomplices for Thresh's rampage."
Back in the main fight, GrandisKuwagamon rushed towards Octavio's damaged mecha, but MetalKhimeramon would intercept him. The mechanical amalgamate would attempt to block his opponent's furious claw swipes with his weapon arms, but it was painfully obvious that MetalKhimeramon couldn't keep this up for long. He howled in pain whenever one of GrandisKuwagamon's claws managed to cut into his armor like a hot knife through butter.
"Look at them, Kaya." Taranza continued, pointing at the battle with one of his hands. "They may be able to stall that monster for a little bit, but without help they WILL die. And once they're gone, that monster will come straight for you, no matter how many people he has to cut down in order to reach you. You say that someone else will step in to save the day? Well, there won't always BE anyone else. If nobody else comes, then what? Will you run away, abandoning those who have risked their lives for you and leaving these innocent people at that monster's mercy?"
While Taranza continued his speech, GrandisKuwagamon had managed to knock MetalKhimeramon onto his back before charging his claws with electricity and stabbing both sets of claws right into MetalKhimeramon's chest, causing the mechanical giant to howl in pain once more as the electricity surged through his body. Taranza released his grip on Kaya's hands before clenching his hands into fists. The Silkosamon turned and started heading back towards where GrandisKuwagamon was still mutilating his opponent. "I'm going to do what I can to stop the mess I've caused and help my brother, even if it kills me. What are you going to do, girl?"

Kaya felt something grab onto her hands as she curled up in her own self-pity. Opening her eyes, she found that it was actually Taranza who took her hands, looking at her in the eyes as he tried to talk some sense into her. "Taranza is right, Kaya," Hawkeye said. "Kohaku and Ruri... they're just going to get hurt either way. Either we fight to save them, or they suffer while they're still in that monstrosity."
"Hawkeye, the last time we fought our friends, we ended up losing them. I almost abandoned you, as well. I still can't forgive myself for what happened back then. And I certainly can't repeat that mistake again! I don't want to be the bad guy anymore..."
"Kaya, you-"
Hawkeye didn't get to complete his statement, as the sound of MetalKhimeramon's pained howling caught their attention. Kaya's eyes darkened once she saw the situation that the amalgamate found himself in, and she couldn't help but place her hands in front of her mouth to prevent herself from screaming. Taranza explained it well; they were going to die if no one came in to help. And if Kaya wasn't going to step up, then who will? "I... I..."
Then she saw GrandisKuwagamon throw MetalKhimeramon onto his back, before stabbing his chest with both sets of electrified claws. That was the moment where Kaya knew what she had to do. "LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Kaya shouted as orange DigiSoul started to emanate from her body. She let go of Taranza's hand as she walked forward towards the Darkness Xrossed Digimon. "You call yourself a royal guard?! All you are is a bully and a murderer! Look at the destruction around you, look how scared everyone is! Is this really what you want?!"
"Kaya..."
Kaya continued..."You forced your men to Xros with you because you couldn't win one stupid battle! What's the point of all this chaos?! All you care about is your pride, about getting revenge, instead of actually doing what you were meant to do! And now you've taken my friends hostage because of it! That's why I'm going to fight you, here and now to save my friends! And that's why... that's why I can't lose!"
Kaya then screamed herself as her DigiSoul energy went off the charts, shooting straight up into the sky for the world to see. And as quickly as it came, it condensed itself purely in Kaya's body, causing an orange outlining glow to emanate from Kaya instead now. Pulling out her Digivice, she managed to channel all that energy into her hand before placing it on top of the Digivice itself. "DNA CHARGE! OVERDRIVE!"
The amount of energy that Hawkeye felt rushing throughout him was staggering! "HAWKMON, DOUBLE WARP DIGIVOLVE TO...!" The sheer aura that the evolution itself was giving off was powerful, with the Digimon known as Hawkeye jumping two evolution stages at once like that. Once the evolution had completed, there in Hawkeye's place stood a golden metallic eagle with black claws and a black beak. "EAGLEMON!"
"Hawkeye! Show no mercy!" Kaya had commanded to her newly evolved Mega level partner.
[Phoenix Ram]
What in the...?
"Ph-Phoenix Ram!"
And just like that, Hawkeye dashed right at GrandisKuwagamon at full speed, with the intent of knocking the Xrossed Digimon off of MetalKhimeramon so that GrandisKuwagamon would focus on Hawkeye, and the amalgamate could make his escape. "Octavio! Metal! Hawkeye and I will keep GrandisKuwagamon busy, now get out of here! Help the citizens if you're still able to walk!"
Hawkeye double-warp digivolves to Eaglemon and uses "Phoenix Ram" on GrandisKuwagamon.
Moves
Phoenix Ram: Using his metal body, Hawkeye dashes at full speed right into the target, taking advantage of his own strength and speed to potentially catch the opponent off guard. Cooldown is two posts.

Seeing Kaya regain her resolve, to the point of her partner digivolving to Mega to face GrandisKuwagamon, Taranza turned his head to the side and smiled slightly. He'd managed to successfully get Kaya back in the fight, just as he intended. He might be too weak to make a difference directly, but he could do this, at least, before going to help Octavio's teammates evacuate the civilians from the battlefield.
As Hawkeye rammed into GrandisKuwagamon, Octavio used his damaged mech to help MetalKhimeramon up and lead him away from the dueling Megas. As they moved out of the way, Octavio called out, "If you two think you can handle it, then we'll stay back and help the civilians. But you only have to say the word if you want us to help you!"
Meanwhile, Kaya's callout speech to GrandisKuwagamon caused the black insect to growl in anger. "A royal guard? Do you think I really wanted to zzzerve that tyrant, or that I ever even had a choice in the matter?! Queen Vezzzpa is a tyrant, who seezzz her subjectzzz as toolzz or slavezzz. She'll execute anyone who disagreezz with her or failzz her, so I couldn't care lezzz about that job. Here and now, I'm finally free!"
That revelation was the last nail in the coffin for Taranza, as the Silkosamon finally realized that Tartar had been right from the beginning. Their mother was a monster, and Taranza was a naïve fool to have ever believed otherwise. However, the Silkosamon wouldn't have very much time to think on this realization, as GrandisKuwagamon chose that moment do something utterly heinous.
GrandisKuwagamon's back swelled grotesquely, as mutated and deformed clones of GrandisKuwagamon budded and emerged from the monster began attacking everything in sight. Even after splitting off from the real Grandiskuwagamon's body, the mutated clones would continue to split apart and multiply further to form a relentless mindless swarm that lashed out at everything they could get their deformed hands on. MetalKhimeramon: -Trident Revolver: (3/4) -Heavy Firepower (passive): MetalKhimeramon's basic attacks deal as much damage as 0-CD named attacks.
ShogunOctomon X3: -Backhand: (2/4)
Jewelbeemon abilities: -Spiral Gale:(4/5)
GrandisKuwagamon: -Armored Hunter (passive): GrandisKuwagamon's armored exoskeleton is very tough and durable, even if its weight slows him down a bit. Still won't stop him from viciously pursuing his prey, though. +40% defense, -10% speed. -Slash Wave: (2/3) -Storm Slicer: (1/4) -Virulent Clones: Once per thread, GrandisKuwagamon can unleash a massive swarm of mindless, mutated/deformed clones of himself that gather around GrandisKuwagamon and attack all enemies in a 100m radius over the course of three turns before expiring. The clones self-replicate to maintain their numbers during those three turns, so the only way to stop the swarm early would be to destroy all of the clones at once with an AoE attack. (Duration: 0/3)
