Before anything more could be said between Luneth and Rory, Amper had taken a few sips from the drink Owen was giving him. Something called "Gatorade," a human world drink that Luneth was familiar with. It seemed to do the trick in perking him up, considering how he ran around everyone the very instant the drink entered his system.
"What exactly is in that stuff?" Luneth asked, surprised by just how effective it was on the Pulsemon.
The group then stopped for a lunch break on the other side of the portal in Ys. Arlo smiled as he handed plates to Omen, Vergil, Amper, Owen, Rory, Luneth, Gem, and presumably Nik and Bixby as well. Once Arlo had served everyone their food, Arlo couldn't help but feel like he was forgetting something. What was he forgetting? This was going to bug him all day.
Grrrrrrrrr...
Or maybe not. A low growl from the Angoramon's stomach reminded him that he was so focused on getting everyone else fed, he had forgotten to put a plate out for himself! Mentally face-palming himself, Arlo would get a plate of karaage for himself and go to eat with the others. Thankfully it seemed like no one noticed, as there was no way he was going to admit this to anyone.
"This is so good!" Gem cheered as he consumed his meal with gusto, alongside Luneth who was doing the same. It was quite clear that those two were going to have seconds later, and that made Arlo quite happy to see since he took pride in his culinary abilities these days.
Now that everyone had been fed and the tension between the group has died down due to discussions during the meal, Bixby had announced his completion of the Anti-Digicite helmets. It was some science jargon that the group didn't 100% understand (and in Gem's case, it made his eyes turn into spirals) but the gist was that it repelled Digicite energy waves. But the helmets needed to be tested first. And before anyone could speak up, Owen volunteered himself, with Vergil alongside him in case it didn't work.
Naturally, Luneth and Gem were both opposed to the idea, since they believed Owen could hurt Vergil if the helmets didn't work. But Owen seemed adamant about never hurting Vergil like that, since they were family, even if he was being affected by the Digicite. They knew that Owen was speaking the truth like this, that he really would never hurt family. However, Arlo wasn't quite as convinced, since he hadn't known Owen for very long and didn't know him very well, either. He didn't say anything to speak in opposition to the idea, but he made a mental note to charge in and grab both Owen and Vergil if things didn't go according to plan.
"If you're sure about this, Mr. Owen," Luneth said, "then alright. We'll follow close behind if the helmets really work."
"Be safe, Mr. Owen and Vergil."
He, Gem, and Arlo grabbed their own helmets as they watched Owen step forward into the digicite passage. He flipped the switch on his helmet, and the orange light surrounding him had turned white, just like Bixby said would happen. They'd watch on to see what Owen and Vergil would do, and proceed to follow with their own helmets on their heads and turned on if the passageway was deemed to be safe.
