Post by Darian Soten on Nov 12, 2014 18:52:02 GMT
The Digital World Needs You! Thanks to the recent Deva attacks across the world, there are many places that are currently in ruin. These places will never be the same again unless you, the members, do some work and rebuild them back to their usual splendor. Each area that has been attacked will have different jobs due to the different natures of each attack. There will be a counter at the bottom of this post that will label how many more jobs you must do before the board is repaired. Just like the normal jobs, all job posts shall be posted in this thread to avoid a massive amount of clutter. As a reminder: All posts within this thread are IC and therefore must follow the regular rules of posting. Every so often the posts within will be archived to help keep the cleanliness. Bits and posts shall be awarded in a short period of time after completing the task. Each job will be worth 1500 bits or 5 posts. And yes guys, you are still limited to 4 jobs a month. So pick and choose whether you want to help rebuild or do a normal job around the world. Please put this template at the start of each post: Job: Bits or Posts: Location: [Snowflake Village]? Job: Find the Survivors Bits or Posts: Bits Location: [Snowflake Village]
"God, I know they warned me about it, but..."
"It really doesn't prepare you for the real thing." Tetsu finished his partner's thought as they stared at the ruins of the Snowflake Village. Tetsu was a bit more prepared for the sheer destruction that a Digimon could do to a village. Hiro who's life had been peace before meeting the now dragon, was floored by the sight.
The duo had wandered about and heard the news about the Village and headed there as soon as they could. They arrived to find only death and destruction. The villagers weren't exactly receptive either. The Digimon in the camps near the village remains were cold at best and downright hateful at worst. Hiro, a bit startled by the response, let Tetsu wander the camp and gather intel as he waited on the outskirts. While the Digimon were rather cold to the V-mon, they would at least speak to him.
So they gathered bits and pieces of the story. A Digimon called Caturamon had laid waste to the village and the village blamed humans for their interference. It certainly explained why Hiro nearly got lynched when he first walked into the relief camps. He had hoped that his offer of help would get him some leeway, but it seemed to make the villagers angrier.
Tetsu had asked around if they needed any help and while the majority of the villagers had dismissed him because of his association with a human, a couple had reluctantly gave him requests which he relayed to Hiro. The fact that there were so many requests when the majority of the villagers dismissed them was sobering. They eventually chose one that was a bit more time sensitive.
While much of the village had been combed for survivors, there could still be some out there hidden away. The fact of the matter was that the relief camp didn't have the numbers to send out search teams to find all of the unaccounted Digimon. So it was up to Hiro and Tetsu to try and see if they could find anyone.
Hiro pulled out his Digivice. "Tetsu, let's start. The more time we waste here the less chance we have of finding someone that's..." 'Still alive' went unspoken as Hiro stopped talking and pointed his Digivice at his partner.
"V-mon Shinka!" Tetsu called out as his form grew and shifted. His human like shape elongated into a reptilian one, though it maintained it's bipedal shape. "Veedramon!"
Hiro smiled briefly at his partner's Champion form. The elation from the surge of energy that their bond created faded quickly and Hiro felt his mood dip even lower from the brief high. He scowled at his own complacency and walked towards the first remains of a house. "Tetsu, come help me over here."
The duo worked in near silence. Only speaking to request help or ask a question. The dreary atmosphere of the ruins simply hung heavily on the duo as they moved debris and crawled through narrow spaces in hopes of finding any survivors.
The duo were walking towards another ruined house when Tetsu paused. It took Hiro a moment to realized that the thumping steps of his partner stopped but he turned to shook a questioning look at the blue dinosaur.
"What is it?"
"I think I heard something." Tetsu looked around the area and closed his eyes to stretch out his hearing to their limits.
"Do you think it's a survivor?" Hiro perked up at the thought actually finding someone.
"I dunno. Maybe." Tetsu searched a bit more before nodding and running off. Hiro yelped in surprise before sprinting after his partner. The Veedramon was surprisingly agile for a decent sized dinosaur. Tetsu lead Hiro through the village, occasionally switching directions.
Eventually they arrived at the ruins of what was a small house. The structure of the house was intact, though it was missing half of its rook and pieces of its walls.
"Here?" Hiro panted out as he bent over to catch his breathe.
"Yeah. Here." Tetsu nodded, not even winded slightly.
Hiro walked around the small house. The place was pretty much ransacked, either by the original owners gathering their things to bring to the camp or someone looking for supplies. It was a mess and Hiro needed to be careful around the debris. Tetsu had no such grace and just threw whatever debris in his way out of the house through the hole in the roof. The duo were just finishing their first cycle of the house when Hiro paused.
"Hey, did you hear that?" There was a small noise coming from the house, like someone was scratching something.
"Of course. I've been trying to find the source." Tetsu blinked owlishly at his partner. Hiro blinked before he recalled that Tetsu had run to this house because he heard something and then flushed.
He coughed into his hand before pointing below them at the floor. "It sounds like it's coming from down there."
"The floor?" Tetsu looked down in confusion.
"Yeah, maybe there's a basement or cellar and someone is stuck." Hiro offered thoughtfully.
"So how do we check? Should we look for a entrance?"
"Naw." Hiro felt a smirk form on his face. "We'll just make one."
Hiro told his partner the plan before taking a few steps back behind him. Tetsu listened carefully before taking a breathe. "Vee Breath Arrow!" A blue blast of energy in the shape of an arrow fired out of Tetsu's mouth and smashed a hole through the floor.
"Nice job buddy." Hiro punched Tetsu in the arm before looking down at the hole. Just as he thought, there was another floor beneath the house. It looked like they punched a hole right into the basement. As the dust was settling, Hiro hopped down to the floor and looked around.
"h-hey. Is-coughcough- is someone there?" Hiro managed to say as he choked on some dust. He was rewarded by more banging and a voice calling out.
"Here, I'm here. I'm right here." The voice was hoarse and weak, but Hiro definitely heard it. He called out a few more times and followed the responding cries. He found the source. There was a white, yeti looking Digimon underneath a bunch of debris from a nearby wall. Hiro ran over and knelt down by the Digimon.
"Hey." He said softly.
"Y-you're real?" The Digimon spoke as he grabbed onto Hiro's hand. The grip was painfully tight, like the Digimon was afraid that if he let go Hiro would fade away.
"Y-yeah." Hiro gasped out. Digimon were strong. He hoped that he imagined the cracking noise that happened when the Digimon grabbed him. "Tetsu, help me out here!"
It took them a bit of time, but Tetsu managed to extract the Mojyamon (Tetsu informed Hiro helpfully after he called him Yetimon) and place him on his back for safe transporting. The duo jumped back up to the ground floor, well, Tetsu jumped, Hiro got thrown up like a rag doll.
The Mojyamon sputtered his thanks for a bit as they slowly made their way towards the relief camps, but it seems that whatever strength kept him awake was finally running out now that he was being rescued and the Digimon passed out on Tetsu's back. The duo shared a worried look and picked up their pace, Tetsu carrying Hiro in his arms when the teen grew too tired to keep up with the Veedramon.
They arrived to the relief camp only to receive the same welcome as last time. They managed to get the Mojyamon to a medical tent and Tetsu gave a report of what they found to the Digimon in charge of the rescue operations.
Hiro sighed as he waited in the cold outside for Tetsu to finish his report. They had managed to find someone. He should feel good about that. They had rescued someone that was in trouble. But as Hiro looked around at the relief camp, saw the spiteful looks the Digimon around him gave him and thought about the ruins of the village, he felt so small.
"Geez, I'm really sheltered aren't I?" Hiro admitted softly as he looked up at the sun. It was bright, but Hiro didn't seem to get feel warmth from the sunshine. He just felt cold inside.
"Alright, that's done with." Tetsu, now a V-mon once more, chirped as he walked out of the tent. He looked over at Hiro and frowned at the dour expression on his face. He hopped over to his partner and beamed up at him. "Come on, let's find some hot chocolate. It'll warm you right up."
Hiro gave his partner a weak smile, but followed after him. A small break was probably what he needed. But after that, it was back to work.

Name: find the survivors
Reward: Bits, please
Location: Snowflake Village
Great. As if the Northen Proiminence wasn't enough of a chilling wasteland before, now the Snowflake Village had been nearly wiped from the fave of the digital world, only ruins remaining. Well, there some rebuilding being made, but still...it didn't really look like a happy scenario. As he and his partners walked through the ruins, the agonizing sounds of heavily injured digimon filling the air, Joseph couldn't help but look down. Despite his intentions to take down DATS, the sight of all this injured digimon still pained him, through the left-overs of his conscience, which he was trying to bury deep down. The boy wondered once again, why Viralkunemon requested to come here as soon as they learned about what happened to the village.
Joseph looked to his side, where the mechanical larva was accompanimg him. What could be inside that digimon's head? What were his plans? His secrets? Was he really the loyal servant he appeared to be? Sure, the larva was loyal to him, but the question, to what purpouse and how far could it be taken?
"Is there something wrong, master?" Viralkunemon inquired, turning his head quickly. Suprised, Joseph nearly jumped, caught staring at his partner. Embarassed, Joseph looked back to the way ahead of them, trying to come with an excuse that didn't sound like an obvious lie.
"No, don't worry Viralkunemon. I was just wondering why you would want us to come here. I doubt there is some kind of big baddie here, except for the guy who did this, of course." Joseph replied, shaking his head.
"You're getting the hand of it, master. Mixing truth and lie tends to be indeed a nice way to sound convincing when lying. Good work." Viralkunemon commented in an almost playfull way " But to answer your question, I requested that we came here to test you. We can't take our plans to their full scale if you are not ready to be merciless."
"Does that mean we should just let everyone die?" Joseph asked, a look of horror in his face, "Revenge is only one of the reasons we are doing what we're doing, Viralkunemon. We shouldn' waste lifes out of simple malice."
Viralkunemon coughed, seeming suprised and disturbed. This reaction angried Joseph a bit, but the larva spoke before Joseph could do it again.
"You misunderstood me, Joseph." Viralkunemon began "I ment that we must have a RATIONAL, goal-oriented vision when it comes to who we spare or not. We must be cold, cold like the winter of the Northen Proiminence. Otherwise..."
"Otherwise, what?" Kokunemon asked, from the other side of Joseph. Despite having listened and stayed quiet in conversation so far, to the point of the other two nearly forgetting she was there, the green larva had her own words to say. "Why can't he be calm, content, warm and mercyfull?"
"Because if master is, then anyone can boss him around with pouting. No, if we are to take our plans further, we have to be though, cold, calculated." Viralkunemon answered angry. He didn't like it when his sister tried to appeal to Joseph's good site, especially when she used such cheap tricks as inserting the words "content" and "happy" to her sentences.
"Look, if..." Joseph was saying, when he something hit him. Joseph got thrown back, falling onto the cold, sbley ground of the ruins of Snowflake Village. Whatever hit him was hard as rock because...well, because it WAS rock. An entirely made digimon, in fact. "Hey what's up with you? Can't you see where you're going?"
"Tag!" the digimon said, before taking off running again, stomping Joseph's chest in the process. The boy began to get up, seeing a wolf-like digimon coming in his direction. He wasn't really walking straight, in fact whatever the chunck of wood in his lef was doing, it certainly didn't help him move faster.
"Are you ok? Sorry about it, that little brat has been like that ever since his brothers disappeared, when the village was attacked by the Caturamon's army." The Garurumon told Joseph. "I would have helped track them myself, but unfortunately..."
The Garurumon showed him what the wood really was. An enormous wounds covered the Garurumon's leg, the wood being used together with the mends to help the wolf's leg keep still to recover correctly. Maybe Joseph should help find that Gotsumon's brothers? He'd need a better reason to find them than just kindness, that's for sure.
"I'm ok, thanks. I think we could try help find his brothers, but...hum...we're kind of in a hurry here. We have to get to our job quickly or we won't get payed enough..." Joseph began lying, parting the garurumon would take the bait and have a reward for them.
"There is a reward for helping to find survivors, thought I doubt there any left. Still, I don't think we should give up on trying." The Garurumon said, causing Joseph a smirk, which he quickly removed from his face.
"I guess we should get going then, shouldn't we? If we wanna find anyone, then there's no time to loose!" Joseph nearly yelled. The garurumon laughed, happy as Joseph's partners simply nodded.
And so, they launched themselves to work. The first thing they did was check the abandoned houses. Thier main targets was anything that a Gostumon could fit into or that looked like a weird boulder. They searched under couches, within large clocks, beneath beds, in closets, to no result. Maybe it would have helped of Viralkunemon had dome more than just eat spider webs while Joseph and Kokunemon tried to find the Gotsumon. Joseph could understand, however. Afterall, the mechanical larva opposed trying to find someone out of compassion.
Yet it turned out, maybe this behaviour wouldn't be as bad as it seemed, for when Joseph and Kokunemon sat down to take a break, Viralkunemon headed down to eat a piece if silk that was lying next to a fallen clock. Yet, as the larva took a bite at it, a strange sound came from where it was. Removing the silk, Viralkunemon found that there was nothing htere but snow and a small rock...or was it? Joseph recognised the shape: it was a gotsumon foot!
The boy ran towards it and grabbed it. With some effort, he began to pull it out, revealing the rest of leg as the sounds of pain could be heard from beneath the snow. Kokunemon and Viralkunemon began to pull Joseph, helping him to pop the Gotsumon out of the snow.
"Jeez, thanks! Finnaly someone came I was running out air there! But I made it out." The Gotsumon "thanked". He then looked at the fallen clock with a sadned face. "My brother, on the other hand..."
"Come, on let's go. We gotta get you somewhere else." Joseph told the Gotsumon. He felt pity for him, but this was no time to show it. They needed to get their money and leave, before Viralkunemon suspected of too much "Come, move."

---
Hiro sipped on his hot chocolate before holding the cup in his hands to leech the warmth from the hot drink. The Northern area was a frigid area and Hiro was not exactly a big fan of the cold. He almost wished that there was some trouble in a tropic area instead of this frozen one before he realized he was wishing for a disaster and mentally berated himself.
Hiro and Tetsu had spent a bit of time looking for survivors in the ruins of the village and managed to find someone. They had been taking a small break to recover, both physically and mentally from the ordeal. Hiro took another sip from his drink and winced at the glares that the Digimon around him threw his way. Human relations would be slow to recover from this. Hopefully seeing humans help out would make a dent in that hatred.
"Hiro!" The familiar voice of his partner caused Hiro to look over and he saw the V-mon running towards him with a sheet of paper in his hands. Probably their next assignment. While the leaders of the village weren't exactly happy to see him around, they couldn't exactly say no to an able body ready to help the relief effort.
"That our mission, buddy?"
"Umu." V-mon handed the sheet over to Hiro. It was a simple assignment. They wanted someone to clean up the rubble from the ruins of the village. It was grunt work, but that was fine. Hiro expected, no he had planned on that kind of work. He didn't have any particular skill to help out the village so grunt work was his only real option.
"Right." Hiro gulped down the rest of his hot chocolate and gasped from the heat before tossing the disposal cup into a trash can. "Let's get moving."
Hiro digivolved Tetsu into Veedramon and rode on his partner's back. Normally he would have run alongside Tetsu, but he wanted to conserve his strength for the actual work. Tetsu didn't mind at all so it all worked out.
Hiro felt a bit depressed when he got to the village ruins. There was very little work done, so it was covered in rubble and broken structures. It was fresh from the disaster and it showed. It was going to take a lot of work to clear this mess and the rebuilding plans couldn't progress until it was cleaned up enough.
"Geez, I don't even know where to get started." Hiro sighed. Luckily, he didn't have to decide on his own. There were Digimon already starting the cleaning process. Tetsu took them over to the guy in charge and got them assigned to an area. It was a street full of smashed up houses. They would be working on this area for their shift.
"Right, let's get to work."
Hiro grunted as he lifted a pile of rubble up and carried it over to the pile. Tetsu walked past him carrying a piece of rubble that was larger than his pile on his shoulder and Hiro shook his head at his partner's ridiculous strength. The duo had come up with a decent plan to gather rubble. Tetsu would focus on the large pieces and Hiro would grab the smaller stuff. Once they got a decent pile going, Tetsu would obliterate it with a good V-Breathe Arrow.
Hiro set down another pile and hopped back behind Tetsu who took a deep breathe before vaporizing the rubble. Hiro sighed and leaned heavily against his partner. They had been working for hours and they had managed to clear away a small area so that no rubble lay in it. There were still plenty of houses that needed to be cleared away, but it was a start.
The shift manager walked over to the duo to tell them their shift was over. The Digimon, it looked like a Digimon made completely of snow shaped like a person, thanked Tetsu for his help but completely ignored Hiro and walked past him without a word.
"Ahahaha... I guess that's all I can expect." Hiro said as he hung his head. He gave Tetsu a weak smile as he climbed onto his back for a ride out of the area. They had done as much as they could, but for now, he wanted to get somewhere warmer.

Job: Find the Survivors
Reward: Bits
Location: Snowfflake Village
So this was Snowflake Village. Ann wished she had seen it before, when it was still beautiful, a dream place for those lost in the Northen Proiminence. But now it was in no better state than WhiteWater City, and that one had been pretty blazed up too. The big difference was that, while WhiteWtaer still had it's becah and ocean and tropical climate to help while they were rebuilding, Snowflake Village used to be an oasis in a cold wasteland. Ann was still struggling with taking the sight of the destruction and the wounded in, but she was doing better than the last time. She had passed out as soon as she saw WhiteWater, leaving Treat to drag her to the nearest improvised hospital.
Now, Ann was doing her best to stay calm. She focused on her breath and in trying to reconstruc the village's former beauty with her mind. The first thing that came to her mind was the village being filled with leppercons and raindeers, houses made of cookies and lollipops with a big fat red digimon greeting those who passed through. She resisted to urge to giggle at that image, covering her mouth to disguice it as cough. At least it was a better start than in the other ruins.
Treat, however did notice it. The knight digimon, who had recently evolved to champion when fighting a group if thieves during a tour guide that he and Ann were giving, He smile at his tamer, despite the fact that she probably couldn't see it. Treat was glad that Ann was holding up better this time, happy that she felt like laughing, as long as it wasn't laughing of the hurt digimon. But Treat was sure she wasn't mocking annyone, she wouldn't.
Ann, noticed he way Treat was looking at her and blushed slightly before giving him a smile. Treat, in turn, also began to blush and Immediatly tribes his head to the lath ahead, trying to pretend he wasn't looking at his tamer.
"You know, that armor of yours reflects the snow really well." Ann said.
"I wasn't...hum, thank you my princess. You're looking pretty as well." Treat replied, embarassed.
"Thank you, Treat!" Ann told him with a bright smile "I wish we could help these people. But that`s why we`re here, right? To try to voluunteer and do something for the inhabitants of Snowflake Village."
Treat doubted they give any dignigying task, but Ann didn`t need to know that. The girl would be content with helping. She was really nice, that no one could deny. Treat only hoped she didn`t change overtime, her spoiled side getting to her head. But that was a problem for another time, right now they should focus on what really mattered: finding a job. But where? Treat spotted a Frigimon a pointed to her, poking Ann a little to alert her that he going to talk to the snow digimon.
"Excuse me." Treat began "My name is Treat, and this is my tamer, Ann. We just arrived at this...village and we wanted to help. Do you know of any place where we can volunteer? Anything will do, as long as we can help."
"Oh hi there. Actually, you can get a job anywhere. You see, we still haven`t managed to find or declare dead everyone from the village. We keep our hopes high about the others, but... They`re not that easy to find, you see. Maybe you could try to spend a day searching or so?" The Frigimon replied, begging them with her eyes.
Ann got really excited about it, for some reason. The girl was jumping in place arledy, looking at Treat while awaiting for his reponse to the request. The girl had joined Frigimon in the eye-begging stance, It was clear that she really wanted to help, and it turned out the task offered was actually dignifying, against Treat`s expectations. Afterall, others had failed at that task and they were being given it, to save lifes.
"Sure, we can do that. Not that I`d refuse any other task, as we did come here to help." Treat explained, lifting his shoulders "If you could explain why it is so difficult to find, while you expect us to be able to do so..."
"I don't EXPECT you to be able to find them. I hope you are..." Frigimon explained, making Treat ashamed of his synism. He probably just made the Frigimon feel bad too, with his careless words. Ann looked at the two digimon, seeing their heads both looking down into the snow and broken stone.
"Hey, cheer up your two! I'm sure we'll find someone!"Ann told them, waving and cashing them both to look at her. She raised her digivice and Treat gave her a confused look. He was arledy in his champion form, so why did she take out her digivice? "De-digivolve!"
A bright light envoleped Treat, making him return to his rookie form of Roardmon. Again, he looked at his tamer with an inquisitive look, trying to figure the reason for which she returned him to his rookie form. However, this time an idea came to him: His body was now shaped as a blue dog, so it might be easier to search in that form. Treat smiled at his tamer, seeing just how smart she really was.
"Alright, I think it's time to go. Hum, just one more thing..." Treat claimed "Once we find someone, where should we take them? Certainly, we can't just leave them out here in the cold.
"Oh, about that, you have to take them to that tent over there. You see it?" The Frigimon answered, pointing at a tent in the distance, while Treat and Ann nodded to confirm they could indeed see the tent. "Good then. I wish you good luck."
Ann and Treat left, then running off together into the large snow. They looked around, always running deeper into the snowy ruins, or better, the not-inhabited ones, until finnaly they stopped, exhausted. All they could see was white to their side and in front of them, except for a small siluete in the distance belonging to the ruins of Snowflake Village. Maybe it was time to turn back? Ann wasn't sure. She really wanted to help, but...was she even doing it right?
"Maybe, maybe we should have for something for you to snif before we came." Ann stated, bending down as she catched her breath. "We probably should turn back. It's pointless to just keep searching out in the open without any clues."
"No, no!" Treat replied, embarassed about them having forgotten such an important detail. His pride wasn't held high, but he didn't want to loose his dignity! "It's not pointless. We'll find something, for sure, we just have to think about where to look. Besides, did promise we'd search for an entire day right?"
"Yeah, I suppose you're right. Hey, wait a minute...That mountain over there." Ann said, pointing at a nearby mountain, covered with small black areas. "It's covered in debris. Maybe a digimon got flown there during the explosion?"
"It's possible. Come on, we should check it out." Treat told Ann and began running, making sure he kept his pace low enough for the girl to be able to catch up easily. He even let his tong out of his mouth as he ran to amuse Ann, which seemed to be a success, at least according to her giggles.
They arrived at the mountain and began to climb it. At first, Ann was just five, but the freeezing air ended up with her allowing Treat to digivolve to carry her up in less secure locations. Personally, both Ann and Treat loved those moments. Treat for the security he was providing Ann, and for her willingness to let him carry her like that. Ann for the comfort she felt being carried by Treat like that. However, none of them would admit it.
"You know, Treat..." Ann told him at one point, while he was putting her down on the ground. "You and I are a really great team. Whenever one of us is down, the other will lend a hand raise them right back up."
"Demi Dart!" Two voices shouted behind them. Treat turned, seeing two "vaccines" being hurled against him and Ann. He drew his swords.
"Swords of the Ghost King!" Treat shouted, the ghostly swords forming in his hands as he used them to slice the attacks. He jumped "Spell Skils!"
With two kicks, he threw the DemiDevimon's that attacked them against the mountain, before jumping unto them again and trespassing them with his sword. The raw data began evaporating into the air, as Treat took a deep breath. That had been Wei... Wait, there was another attack coming! Treat turned to the dark sphere coming in his and Ann's direction.
"Sword of the lost Templar!" He yelled, merging his two swords into one and shoving into the sphere, which exploded. Both Treat and Ann were hurled down the mountain, often crashing against the snow. They lost consciousness...
Ann woke up with Frigimon looking at her, closely. Her entire body was hurting, as the memories began to flood in. Ann felt tears accumulating in her eyes, sad as she was.
"I'm sorry, I tried, but we couldn't find annyone." Ann stated. Then it occurred to her. She wasn't seeing Treat annywhere. "Wait, where's Treat? Treat!"
"Nonsense, you found three digimon in the mountain. I think that explosion was a bit exagerated when it comes to taking them out of there, but still... Just be glad you didn't break anything in your way down." Frigimon answered "And as for your partner, don't worry his find apart from a few bruises. He's asleep eight now, and you should be too. It's almost midnight afterall."
Ann's heart jumped with joy. So despite everything, she and Treat were fine AND manage to find somebody. It was so great!

The Ryudamon keeps rubbing his hands in order to keep himself from trembling. This day is extremely cold! The snowstorm makes it worse. Enzan wished he could have thicker furs or having a mantle so his jaw stops chattering uncontrollably. Extreme had been not friendly with Enzan since long ago. Whenever Enzan visits this part of Digital World, it welcomed him with a blizzard. It’s unsure that Enzan has bad affinity with snows or maybe it’s just not his day. A coincidence.
It’s a coincidence that the Ryudamon finds one of the volunteers that rebuilding this place on his way to the camp. An IceLeomon with a long cape covering his body. It looks like that he’s waiting for someone. OH! Maybe he’s the one who picks up the volunteers. Regardless of the position, that IceLeomon must be the part of the Rebuilding Team.
“Excuse me!”
As soon as the Ryudamon calls him, the IceLeomon quickly approaches the armored lizard. Despite his fierce appearance, the IceLeomon is surprisingly a very caring Digimon. It’s shown when he’s about to dismantle his cape and covers Enzan with it. “You must be that Ryudamon volunteer! Are you cold?!”
“I-I’m fine! Don’t worry!”
“It’s extremely cold here! Wear the cape!”
They have to raise their voice a bit, the blizzard muffles their sound.
“It’s okay! I can still hold up!”
“The camp isn’t far away from here! Let me pick you to the camp!”
The lion man then scoops Enzan without hesitation and dashes to the camp. Well, sounds awkward. But the IceLeomon just want to Ryudamon safe and not letting the frost bites him. The travel isn’t that far away. IceLeomon’s speed brought them to the camp tent within seconds. Now, Enzan has arrived to the Terminus Rebuilding Effort. The IceLeomon puts Enzan nicely on the ground after the arrival.
The tent is nothing special. Just like that camp tent that military army usually sets up. It’s very big and tall for such a camp. It’s a must for a place that shelter a lot of Digimons.
“Let’s go inside”
***
While having a sweet glass of hot chocolate and a roasted meat, the Ryudamon looks at his surroundings. Many Digimons stuck together here. Well, it can’t be helped. The Snowflake residents need a shelter because their homes were ruined by a Deva. Such a cruel fate for these villagers. They know nothing, yet they are objected as sinner by Deva. What’s that? Isn’t that Digimon just venting out his tantrum to the others? Enzan gritted his teeth when thinking about that.
“So you’re the volunteer?”
A new figure approaches Enzan, walking beside the IceLeomon. A blue, wolf-like humanoid wearing a thick jacket walks casually. It’s clearly a WereGarurumon, but with a jacket. It must be very cold even for the likes of Garurumon species that supposed to withstand cold weathers. The Ryudamon then stands up and introduces himself to the WereGarurumon.
“Yes. Enzan is my name.”
The Ryudamon bows with such a politeness.
“It’s nice to have you here, Enzan. Stark is my name and I’m the one currently in charge here. The one who picked you up here is Zareth. He’s also one of the volunteers and is the local resident here.”
After everyone knows each other, the Ryudamon then is asked to have a talk with Stark and Zareth. And the topic is only one: The job. Enzan then follows them to the place where the volunteer assembles. The place isn’t really big, just as same as the place where Enzan waited with hot cocoa. The only difference is, the Digimons gathered here are the volunteers. So many kinds of Digimons are gathered here. He could recognize at least three types of Greymons are here. Then there’s a group of Mamemons and Ninjamons. There’s also a bunch of Digimons in Rookie level like him.
“I think we should waste no more time.” The friendly IceLeomon now is a bit serious.
Stark nods calmly before he calls everyone.
“Alright! Listen up, folks!”
“First of all, thank you for new mons that join our fray. We are very glad to have you in our team. Be proud! Now you’re part of Terminus Rebuilding Effort! You will take part in saving the Digital World with your efforts. However, it will be not easy, since there is a lot of things to do, and they will cost your time and energy. But don’t worry, for any of you that do this job for the payment, we have it. Your effort will be paid with a worthy price.”
Some of mons are laughing. Must be inside joke or Stark is trying to tease the money hunter a bit.
“Haha, okay, okay. Enough with the chatter, we have lot of things to do.”
Everyone now become so focused to Stark. This WereGarurumon has the charisma as a leader. Though he looks relaxed, seemingly he takes this rebuilding effort as serious thing. Enzan then follow the others, waiting for Stark’s instructions.
“Let’s go straight to the point: The Job Description. We’ll go straight for the briefing and i hope the newcomers can follow what I say. But don’t worry, if you still unclear about things, you can ask to any of us later.”
“So, Zareth, Lerand, and Vivi please come forward.”
The IceLeomon then steps forward, followed with a Gatomon and a Vikemon.
“Currently we have three kinds of works to do. First is searching for any survivors in this village. Second is restoring the village and its environment after the attack. The last but not the least one is maintaining the camp and the survivors. Zareth the IceLeomon is the one in charge for the search, Lerand the Vikemon is one that will give you instructions on restoring the Village, and Vivi the Gatomon is the keeper of the camp. Now let us hear their words.”
Lerand is the one who speaks first.
“Ahem. ‘Aight, for anyone that signed up to build things, you’re dismissed.”
Everyone laughs, including Stark.
“Look, there’s a big-ass blizzard out there. And any of our efforts will be in vain, gone with the storm. So builders, you can both choose to find survivors or stay here and keep the camp runnin’. Now can I sit?”
“No, Lerand, stand there for a bit more.”
Everyone laughs again.
“Now it’s Vivi’s turn. Speak up, Vivi.”
“Oo-kaay. So let’s just be quick. Anyone who signed to keep the camp running must be ready to give services to survivors, clean the camp, and guard the camp if there is any danger.”
“What kind of service we give?”
A newcomer in a form of Veemon asked with a curious tone.
“Simple. You cook, provide them foods and drinks, keeping the bonfire, giving them blankets. Fulfill their needs.”
“Should we give massage, too?”
“Shut up, Hank.”
Everyone laughs again after a Meramon asked with a flirtatious tone.
“Okay, quick, quick. Now give us yout word, Zareth.”
The IceLeomon then speaks.
“Okay, for you that signed up to find survivors will be assigned in pairs. Each pair will move to certain perimeter. You have time till the sun sets to find the survivor, if you don’t find any, please return as soon as possible. That’s all.”
“For the newcomers, you’ll join up soon. Ones who will find the survivors follow Zareth, one who stays here will help Vivi and Lerand keep the camp. We won’t start the environment restoration if the blizzard still strikes.”
“That’s all, folks. Good luck and have a safe trip for the ones who will find survivors.”
Zareth then moves out from the assembly hall with relaxed manner.
“Now can I sit, Stark?”
Everyone laughs at Lerand.
*** Searching any living Digimon in designated area until the sun is set. While it sounds easy, when you try to match the fact with the condition of the field where you will search take place, the instruction that Zareth gave is harder than a Hard level in a game. Look at the raging blizzards! Look at the thick, snowy grounds! And Look! The sky is so dark that you can’t notice whether the sun is rise or set! Such simplicity can turn into a very complicated circumstance.
“Everyone got their maps?”
“Yes!”
“Now listen! The red dot in the center is your current position! The blue areas are cleared while white ones are not. Any area that has an X mark on your map will be your assigned position. Clear enough?!”
“Yes!”
“If you can digivolve to higher level, it’s best to do it now. Give it everything you have. There are lives waiting to be saved!”
“ROGER!”
After that, some digimons are showing their higher forms. Mostly are ultimate levels.
The Ryudamon also giving his best shot, he changed to the winged armor man, Butenmon. He is paired with a Silphymon. Seemingly this Silphymon is a quiet one. No word spoken until now. Once Zareth tells everyone to scramble, the Butenmon then walks to the assigned place on his map, going far to the east. The Silphymon immediately follows.
“My name is Enzan, nice to meet you.”
“…”
No words spoken. The caped Silphymon Is just following him. Walking very fast to the point that Enzan have to walk faster to keep in touch with that Digimon. The heck is wrong with this mon? Even the blizzard isn’t as cold as this kind of manner. Enzan isn’t giving up, he tries to talk once again. At least Enzan wanted they can coordinate well when something threatening occurs. “I don’t think you are a mute Digimon, but if you are mute, please clarify. Silence is gold, but understanding can’t be achieved by silence.”
“Just focus on finding the survivors. We’re not even halfway yet.”
“I just want to be friendly, at the very least.”
“But it’s not the right time. You know what to do.”
“Hey! Wait! At least make a meeting point if you want to split up!”
“Isn’t it clear enough?! The X marks the spot! I’m local resident here! Don’t worry about me and just check the east region!”
The Silphymon now disappeared. And the Butenmon is totally alone. He sighed in disappointment as he continues the search on his own. He decided to use his wings to move faster. The blizzard is hard, but that doesn’t make the Butenmon gives up. Just a bit of snow would meet the face, not much different than a rain.
***
About five hours spent for flying and looking at places marked on the map. But he can’t find any Digimon screaming for a help. Is he too late? Or maybe he’s not keen enough to notice? The Butenmon still is not giving up. He keeps check-and-rechecking every single spot on the said region. He still wonders about the Silphymon. Is he okay? Why he’s so cold and dense? Many thoughts appeared. But at the very least, the Butenmon knows that this can’t be done alone. He gotta find the Silphymon. No, he must find him. Enzan returned to the marked area for the 5th time, and still no signs of Silphymon. Without further thinking, The Butenmon checks the West Region of the marked area.
He flies with faster speed than before. When the Butenmon is having a bad feeling, usually it happens.
And he’s right. After he explored the whole western region, he can see the caped Silphymon is trapped in a pile of rock and snows on an abandoned mine, while three SnowBotamons and a SnowGoburimon and SnowAgumon are watching in desperation. They try to help the Silphymon but it’s no use. Even with all of their strength combined, not even a small chunk of it moving.
“HEY!!”
The Butenmon hurriedly approaches the scenery with frantic tone.
“Oh… hey there… sorry for being selfish. Maybe talking a bit while doing a job isn’t that bad… heheheh…”
“Hang in there! I’ll help you!”
“The rocks are too big, Butenmon. You can’t move them.”
“No! Don’t give up just yet! I don’t even know you yet and you’re just dying here!? You gonna get out from this rock and we’ll have a talk after that!”
“Mister Samurai! Please help him! He saved us from the mean blizzard!”
“Help him! Help him! Help him!”
The situation is getting tense. The Silphymon is near his dissolution into a particle of datas, and the kids are crying hysterically. Why would such a heroic digimon suffer this fate?! Yes there are risks, but it’s… unfair. Why the good always have to be tested?
“DON’T!”
-WHAM-
“YOU!”
-WHAM-
“GIVE!”
-WHAM-
“UP!”
-WHAM-
The Butenmon is trying to break the boulders with his blunt side of his beloved spear. But it’s no use. Not even a crack. And pulling out is not a good idea either.
“Why do you keep doing such a thing? Isn’t it pointless? Just take them back to the camp.”
“DAMN IT! I won’t do such a thing! Every life has its own worth!”
The Butenmon keeps doing anything that possibly would save the Silphymon. Pushing the boulder, smashing it with spear, kicking the boulder, punching, even headbutting it.
But it’s no use. Everything that the Butenmon do are in vain.
“Just leave me.”
“…”
“See? It can’t be helped. You tried your best. But you can’t bite more than you can chew. This is impossible. Just bring them back.”
The sitting Butenmon is just standing motionless. He doesn’t know what to do anymore. It was like that until the Silphymon said the word best. Such a simple word, but it gives the Butenmon a thought. Maybe he’s not doing his best yet. He’s carried by his emotion and not doing his moves properly.
Yes, he’s not doing his best yet. There’s only one way to do this.
He must fly, very far to the upside.
As the Butenmon flies upward, the Rookie and the Fresh cried.
“Mister Samurai! Where are you going?!”
Up, up, up, and up. The Butenmon flies very high.
After that, he darts down to the boulder, spinning with high speed and emitting flames from his body.
“THIS IS…”
“MY BEEEEEEEEEEEEEST!!”
-WHAM!!-
-CRACK-BOOOOM!!-
*** Enzan, now a Ryudamon, is sitting on a bonfire inside the camp. Now with bandages all around his body and face. He’s sitting with hot cocoa with the SnowAgumon, SnowGoburimon, and the SnowBotamons. Not for a long time, a Gatomon approaches the group.
“The Silphymon is fine, she’s still awake despite having such a serious injury. If you want to see her, don’t make loud noises, okay?”
“Eh…? The Silphymon is a…girl?”
“Yes, Mr.Daredevil. You want to see her or not? “
The Ryudamon then walks abruptly, only to stumble and having his snout licked by the bonfire.
“Geez… you reckless mon…”
“Mister Samurai!!”
Now Enzan have bandages on every part of his body. ***

Job: Find the Survivors
Bits or Posts: Posts
Location: [Snowflake Village]
---
"I'm getting a little sick of this place."
Hiro regretted the words as soon as he spoke them, but it didn't make them any less true. Snowflake Village was starting to get on his nerves. The place was cold and Hiro much preferred hot to cold. Hiro was used to solitude and being shunned, but the sheer loathing that the villagers were on another level. And the place was just depressing. Every time he walked into the ruins, his mood took a drop.
At first he had been accepting of that. It was a place that a tragedy happened and being all happy and energetic seemed to be disrespectful, but after a few days the solemn nature he was trying to exude had grown old and he sorely needed something to boost his mood.
"Hiro?" Tetsu looked up at his partner with a worried look. He was feeling a bit tired of the place too, though Hiro knew that the V-mon would never state it. He was focused on helping as many people as possible. It was the glorious battle and saving people that he dreamed about, but this was a Hero's job as well so he pressed on. In that way, Tetsu was a bit more mature than Hiro.
"It's nothing buddy. Just a little tired." Hiro brushed hand through his hair. "We've back on rescue duty?"
"Mhm." Tetsu hummed as he looked down at their orders. The relief group had been as chilly as usual and they had thrown the orders at Tetsu without even speaking to him. "I think they're happy we even found someone."
"Yeah. Well, let's go." Hiro tugged at his gloves and hat to make sure they were secure before walking into the ruins. It was a bit more lively than last time. He could hear a few Digimon working to clear the rubble and a search party in the distance. There was still a great deal of damage and the area Hiro was walking through was covered in debris.
"Geez, I don't think there's anything they can salvage here." Hiro murmured as he picked up a piece of a door that still had a twisted doorknob attached to it. He had yet to find any sign of survivors but he was also on the lookout for anything valuable that he could bring back to the relief center.
"Hiro~" Hiro tilted his head at the call and tossed the debris aside before walking over to Tetsu.
"What's up, buddy?"
"I think I heard something here." Tetsu pointed at a ruined house. The only problem was that the roof of the building had collapsed on one side, blocking off any way for them to get it. A quick rotation around the house showed all the windows were also blocked.
Hiro sighed when he found a small opening. He frowned. He could maybe evolve Tetsu and have him bust up a hole. It was probably a poor idea though. The house looked shabby and he was worried that if he busted a hole that the entire thing would cave.
"Hey Hiro." Tetsu called his partner's attention to a small hole in the ground. "Do you think Chibimon will fit here?"
"Huh. Maybe. Let's try" Hiro pulled out his Digivice and pointed it at Tetsu. The Dragon glowed before shrinking down into his little dragon plush sized In-Training form. Hiro lifted him up and after a little struggling and pushing, they managed to cram Tetsu through the hole.
"Hey, you see anything?" Hiro called out.
"It's just junk." Tetsu called back. "I'm going to walk around."
"Alright. Be careful." Hiro sighed as he heard Tetsu patter inside the house. He pressed his head against the house and sighed before turning around and leaning against the house. He couldn't do anything else until Hiro came back, so he just leaned there and hummed to himself to pass the time. "I really wish my phone worked here." He sighed.
Hiro caught himself whistling and sighed at the cliche. After a bit of time, he finally heard his partner call out from the hole again.
"Hiro." Hiro walked over and saw his partner through the hole. "There's no one here."
Hiro pressed a hand against his face and sighed. "Right, then get out of there."
Tetsu nodded and started to shove his body through the hole. It was lucky that his body was so squishy or else he probably would have gotten stuck in the hole. Hiro picked up his partner and carried him over and Digivolved him back to V-mon.
Hiro thanked his partner before they moved on to the next building. It was in better shape and Hiro and Tetsu walked around easily, but there was no one inside. They ran around the area searching building to building but they didn't run into anyone.
It was after hours of searching without any sign of survivors that Hiro gave up. They had knocked down two buildings in their search, one by accident, one on purpose, and covered a small area in their attempt. It was depressing, but it looks like today was a bust.
"Come on, Tetsu. Let's get back to camp before we freeze." Hiro said as he blew hot air into his hands. Tetsu nodded as he shivered. It was starting to get chilly and it would do them no good to get sick.
"Right." Tetsu walked along Hiro and shivered. "You know, I really should get a scarf or something."
Hiro looked down at his partner and looked at the lack of winter clothing the Digimon wore. "Yeah, we'll see if we can't get you something. I'm getting cold just looking at you."
