"Do I really have to prance around like this in rookie form boss? It's... demeaning.", he grumbled, arms crossed hin his slightly oversized hoodie as he dragged his claws in protest across the floor.
The two were making their way though the crowd, not really sure who this Kai was that they were going to fight, but it was best to take a look at everyone they may face. "Really? I think you look-"
"DONT SAY IT!", he snapped up at his tamer but the towering human just chuckled.
"Adooorable", he grinned and poked the muzzle of the chibiguilmon.
"Gahhh noooo!", he grabbed his muzzle and growled. "I'm a highly trained assassin warr- I mean, D.A.T.S Officer! I'm like a ninja i'm not cute!", he grumbled stopping and turning to Josh, claws on his hips and tongue out.
"Ninja's can be cute, have you seen anime?", he added teeth gleaming in his trademarked smile. Guilix grumbled a bit more but Josh would look around above the crowd "So. Which digimon around here thinks they can take us? I wana know who we're up against!", he shouted above the crowd, arms on his sides, his impending buff form almost seeming, brighter than the rest of the room, as if a spotlight were on him helping that gleem stay on his grin. He was excited and eager to hear the matchups.

In a massive coincidence, it was indeed the Lopmon he knew! Seriously, what were the odds of that!? And he still didn't know what was going on here. "Hey Lopmon. Fancy seeing you here." Wait, a tournament? Shiro had signed them up for a tournament!? What was Shiro thinking!? With dismay, Kai remembered the flier in Kamemon's Udon stall that Shiro had been staring at so excitedly. When had the rascal found the time to sign them up!? He should have payed more attention.
"Yui? You're competing too?" Kai asked, incredulous. He hadn't expected to see Yui again here. He found himself slightly embarrassed, and wasn't sure why. Meanwhile, Shiro seemed to realize that no one cared about his boasting. He trotted back over to Kai, his head held high with self-assurance. His pride soon turn to confusion, as he beheld the people with Kai. "Loli? Not-loli? Loli? Not-Loli?" The white Digimon rapidly looked between the two, blatantly confused. How could there be both a Loli and a Not-Loli? "Pop... But no Not-Pop." He settled for something less confusing. "Hiya!"

"Wow, there sure are lot of people here," Xavior stated. "Remember, not all Digimon have human partners. In fact, some humans are able to turn into one," Hogo mentioned. "Really? Darn, that would be awesome," Xavior said in slight disappointment. He then scanned the room before seeing someone familliar. "It would be good to use your Xros Loader to scan your opponents before the tour-" "Hey Yui!" Xavior greeted before running over. Hogo sighed before following his charge.
To Xavior, this was all just a game, and it was one he intended to win. "I thought I saw you signing up for the tournament," Xavior stated. "So who's this, a friend of yours?"

Amsel watched as yet another person arrived, she grinned with so many people showing up she couldn't help but feel excited. She was ready and pumped to take on anyone, it was just in her nature when she came across an obstacle she would fight tooth and nail to get over it even if she got injured in the process. She loves challenges, they were a for her to test her strength.
Dorumon was different as he watched people and their digimon arrived her frowned, he was more of a pessimist by nature, when he was presented with a challenge he would take one look at it and no matter the difficulty he would immediately expect the worse. That's what he guessed made him and his tamer compatible, they balanced each other out his tamer had bounds of positivity that would pump even him up, while he had a some what more clear mind due to his negativity.
Dorumon blinked watching as all the other competitors talked to each other. He was still wondering who he would be fighting, he really hopped that it was someone on the same level as him.

Lopmon looked back and forth between Kai and the newcomer with her twin Terriermon and Lopmon. Shiro for some reason seemed to have trouble telling him and this 'Loli' apart. "I am just Lopmon," he reminded Shiro patiently before turning to regard Yui and her partners. He bowed his head to both Loli and Pop in greeting, paying particular attention to his fellow lopmon. "Hello. I am Lopmon. I have entered the tournament as well." He nodded in greeting to Yui and pulled his ears a little closer around his shoulder, looking around to the quickly-filling room. He wondered how many contestants were participating.
"I have no tamer," he sniffed "It is just me. Just Lopmon. But I wander, I make friends. I help."

Dante watched as more combatants arrived for the tournament. He just stood there, leaning against the wall. Dante noticed a Lopmon talking to someone. He felt bad for the cute little Lopmon. Dante had met a few lone Digimon, and they seemed to have drastically different views on Humans. Some despised them, others just wanted answers. It must be lonely to be all alone in this world or the Digital world. Wormmon starts to get bored. "Dante, when does the fighting start?" "I'm not sure. This is a good time to practice your patience. Why rush things?" Dante reaches into his bag and grabs a bag of cheesesburgers. He tosses it into the wagon. Wormmon climbs back into the wagon and starts munching down cheeseburgers.
Dante noticed many combatants that could pose a challenge. Not knowing what was going to happen, all Dante could do is rely on his partner and utilize any advantage available. Wormmon has some unique abilities, and only time will tell if they will give them the deciding edge. Dante also had other reasons for entering the tournament, things he didn't even tell Wormmon about. "Just remember, Wormmon. We are here to test our strength, and do the best we can." |

"Yah well...when we heard about it Pop went crazy. Something about proving he isn't just cute, that he can be tough, stuff like that." she said, waving her hand. "Though when we saw that it was just for one and that he and Loli couldn't go together Loli and I got a bit more nervous but he's convinced he can do it and so I trust him. Besides. It's all in friendly competition. No data absorbtion here so it should be fine. It is for beginners after all." Yui said with a chuckle. "Yah nothing to worry about! I will win it for sure!" Pop said with beaming confidence. Loli stared at Shiro's back and forth as she walked up to him and placed her hand on his cheek. "It's okay Shiro. We are simply both Lopmon. Sort of how Yui and Kai are both human. But we are a bit different. See? I have blue tipped ears. And his are Pink." she said with a smile as she backed up and spun around a little bit. "So nothing to be confused about. We are simply very similar in appearance, but that's all." she said before walking back to Yui. Yui listened to Lopmon as she smiled at him. "Ah I see then. Well then good luck Lopmon." she wasn't sure how things worked with tamerless digimon, but she figured it was probably just a more natural evolution maybe? Who knows but he should be fine. And he can make his own decisions anyhow. "Yah good luck Lopmon! You are facing me at some point if you make it pass the first round. Normally it would be me and my sis but..you know the one only rule. I guess it's fair but it's too bad Loli is missing out." he said as Loli shook her head. "I am not missing out...I just prefer not to fight if I don't have to." she said as Pop shrugged. When a voice chimed behind her, Yui turned and smiled at the familiar face. "Oh hey Xavier! Long time no see! How have you been? And yah, Pop insisted. How about you? Didn't think I would see you here of all places. Oh, and this is Kai, we have met a few times before. Kai, this is Xavier. He is the one I mentioned a while back that was a bit different with how he got his digimon." she said as she motioned between the two.

"Hah, and here I didn't even know there was a tournament until just now! Shiro somehow signed up without me knowing, and dragged me here. Well, I have to admit, it's not really Kuro's scene anyways. We'll see how we do." Kai felt it was important to explain why he only had one partner with him. "She's well behaved, anyways. Shouldn't run into any trouble on her own during the tournament." Or at least, so he hoped.
Kai chuckled at Pop's confidence, so akin to his partner's. He took a look to see how Shiro would react to this challenge. "No way! Me too!" Shiro exclaimed, oblivious to the fact that there could only be one winner. Kai chuckled. At Loli's explanation, he exclaimed "I knew that!" indignantly. AFter all, how else had he known which one was the Loli and which was the Not-Loli! Hah. Kai was pretty sure that if Lopmon sat on Yui's shoulder, Shiro would think that he was Loli, though.
Kai turned as someone new approached. This person and his partner were unfamiliar, though he did see an unforgettable figure in the corner of his eye! But, more on that later. "Nice to meet you, Xavier. A friend of Yui's is a friend of mine!" A bit different? He didn't remember Yui saying that... Then again, this past month had been hectic! He barely remembered half the stuff he did remember!

Seeing the human tamers getting engaged in each other's attention, Lopmon turned to regard Shiro and Loli. "It was good to meet you both," he said mildly, tucking his ears over his shoulders and around his body. "Good luck in the tournament." Inclining his head to them both in an adorable bow, he turned to follow the wall and skirt the edge of the growing crowd, surveying, watching. It was hard to say exactly what he was looking for- his opponent? The competitors as a whole? The buffet table? He continued to wander quietly, his gaze following the competitors as he noticed them in the crowd.
They were a varied group... this would be quite the tournament.

Big Blue looked down shyly, feeling a bit awkward due to the Wormmon's comments. Even if her larger size and strength would be more of an advantage than a disadvantage in a combat situation, they were still subjects she was self-conscious about. Still, she gave the little worm a firm handshake. He was her opponent, and thus deserved fair, kind treatment in return. That's how these things worked, right?
The human accompanying him made her laugh slightly. It was a sign that this wouldn't be a fight of hard feelings. Instead, this was just going to be two young Digimon fighting to show the world what they could do. They were the only two bugs here, and yet they were on two completely different ends of the bug spectrum. No matter who ended up winning, it would let the arena know that these rising insect superstars were definitely going to be important to watch as they became bigger names in the Digital World. Maybe this would make her role as an Xros partner easier, too. The fame from fighting here could potentially attract other Digimon, and make them more keen on fighting by Chiyoko's side.
She smiled at Dante, his words and her own train of thought reassuring her. "Yes. We will."
The worm then went back to eating some food. It didn't seem too wise to fill up on food right before a big match, but at this point it didn't seem like anybody knew when the fighting would actually begin. "Both ready?"
Chiyoko just plain seemed overwhelmed. The girl looked around at the varied group of people, trying to figure out where to even start trying to find a conversation. She recognized Kai, Shiro, and Kuro, but they already seemed busy talking to all sorts of people. She just didn't feel comfortable approaching while they were so busy. Instead she decided to use her normal big group procedure: wait on the wall and hope someone notices. Of course, it seemed she wasn't the only wallflower here. There was a small rabbit-like creature walking along the walls as well, looking very intent on trying to find nothing in particular. She watched as it searched, wondering if it would approach or not. |

"Hey, I'm Hogo, Xavior's Digimon partner," Hogo greeted. "I'll be cheering you both on if I manage to finish any of my matches before either of you," Xavior said. "That reminds me, is Loli or Pop entering?" he asked Yui. Of course what he didn't know was that Hogo was programmed to fight, giving him among a select few better chances, however, he lacked any actual combat experience. All the experience he had was training with Chaos Gallantmon and the Bakemon that served under him.
"Speaking of, don't you think you should take a good look at our competition? We shouldn't underestimate anyone," Hogo pointed. He then paid the Wormmon, whom they could hear outside, a sideways glance and added "Or overestimate in some cases." "Good point. I'll probably regret not checking my opponent's stats if they've got some kind of trick up their sleeve like poisoning or paralysis," Xavior agreed, taking his Xros Loader out of his pocket.

Yui raised an eyebrow. "Really? Pop wouldn't shut up about it. I am surprised you didn't hear from Shiro before hand." she said, glancing at the white ball of fluff. She then looked back at Kai. "I see. She didn't want to cheer on her brother? Or chuckle if well...you know." she hinted at the last part. Loli gave Shiro a curious look. "You know there can only be one winner...right?" she questioned at his andwer. "Yah! Me! But good luck Shiro. You got to beat your first round!" Pop said with a big grin. Loli returned his polite bow. "Nice to meet you to." Loli was far calmer then her brother, and also a great deal more polite. "Good luck to you to Lopmon." Yui said as the other Lopmon gave them the luck. She wondered what he was like digivolved. Oh well, she wouldn't likely know since this was a rookie tournament after all. At Hogo's Comment Yui smiled and waved at him. "Sorry Hogo! Guess there were too many greetings at once. I hoe you have been well." she said before turning back to Xavier. "Oh well yes Pop will be-" but she was cut off. "I will be the one entering and taking victory! But good luck anyhow." Pop said giving a thumbs up, before getting a slap to the back of his head by Loli. "Hey! Rude!" he said as he frowned at her. "Don't brag! You don't know what they can do. If you are too confident you will make stupid choices and lose!" Loli as as Pop frowned, thinking about what she said.

"Nice to meet you as well, Hogo." Kai said to the Digimon. Shiro, not to be left out, declared "Yeah! You'll be just in time to see me win!" Leaving Kai to sigh. He didn't share his partner's immense assurance of victory. He just hoped Shiro wasn't too devastated, if they lost. Well, with any luck, they'd at least get past round one!
Shiro looked confused at Loli's statement that there could only be one winner. He and Pop couldn't both win? What a silly tournament! Hey, maybe he'd be against Pop in the first round! That'd be fun! "Hah! As if you can win with me around!" he declared. Shiro couldn't lose, after all! That was a proven fact!
Kai left Shiro and Pop to banter over who would win and who would lose. Huh, Xavior's Digivice looked extremely familiar. Err, Chiyoko had one of them! She'd called it a... Loader? "Excuse me, Xavior, but... What is that? I've seen a Digivice like it before, but its owner couldn't tell me what it did, having only just recieved it." He hated admitting his lack of knowledge to a complete stranger, but there was no other way for him to find out.

"Loli's got a point. Confidence is a good thing to have, but if you have too much you get cocky and start making mistakes," Hogo agreed. "It's called a Xros Loader, but I wouldn't know much more than the other person. Hogo here could probably tell you more though since he's been teaching me how things work," Xavior replied as he scanned Kai's partner. Taking his cue, Hogo spoke up again.
"The Xros Loader has a better scanning function than the other Digivice types. It also has the capability to combine Digimon under certain conditions, but it doesn't usually help Digimon Digivolve," he explained. After scanning the KoShiromon, he moved on to scanning Pop, then the Loli look-a-like. "I'm going to go take a look at the competition to see just what exactly I might be up against while I have the chance. I wish you luck," Xavior told Kai and Yui. He then began walking around the lobby.
There was the pair of insect like Digimon. Then there was a turtle Digimon. Next was one that looked like a weird combination of fox, raptor, and bat. There was also an angel with like ten wings. There was also guy sitting off by himself. his eyes rested on a boy about Nova's age with a small red raptor in a hoodie. Out of everyone here, this was the only other person with a reptilian Digimon.
Hogo watched as Xavior walked off, now walking over toward the only other person with a reptilian Digimon. Look at him. He has no idea that unlike other Digimon I can't be reborn at the Village of Beginnings. Lucky this is a tourney where where deleting your opponent is forbidden, Hogo thought. "Well as long as he's having fun, I shouldn't have anything to worry about," he thought aloud.

As Josh looked over the crowd with excited expectations, the reptile had a more sour approach to the whole situation. He didn't know why he was here, he was obviously on a whole nother level, what did he have to prove.
He looked from digimon to digimon, speaking his thoughts out in an aggravated mumble.
"Weak, Weak, Easy, Easy... possibly dinner, Easy, Weak, Gah Boss come on, You should enter! These folks are just child's play!". He grumbled huffing a little smoke cutely out his snout.
"Ya know you gotta open your mind Guilix, this could be a lot of fun! Just stop being such a little grump", he giggled giving him a little push before looking back out at the other digimon. The raptor turned away from his tamer, only to look up and see a human standing before him. The little creature huffed a bit and growled out . "Bah what do you want human?"
He sniffed a bit, getting the whiff of some kind of weird smelling digimon off this human but that didn't matter at the moment, he was just wondering why a human was walking up to them.
"Guilix don't be rude", he began patting the little guy on the head before looking at the other human. "Heh sorry, he's not used to being in his rookie stage so much anymore.
