"So, remind me to try to buy peanut butter before we head home," Asher hummed to the brothers, while walking along. That train ride was way too long. And, why couldn't Digimon have built-in pockets? Where was he supposed to put his hands?
...Huh. That just made the boy think. He'd been in this sprite form for... over a hour? Jeez. Maybe this wasn't so healthy. Wasn't he getting tired yet? Then again, he still wasn't entirely sure the specifics of returning to human form, so maybe that had something to do with it.
Tail swayed, as Renamon walked through the forest. "So! I'm lost. And," he paused, to think, "I still have no idea what we're doing. How do these spirit things work? Do you have to go to a temple and avoid booby-traps? Or win a race? Is there a cheat-sheet?" Clearly, Asher had watched too much television!
Meicoomon chose to walk closer to Elliot, looking around. It was so weird to walk on only two legs now! "Nya! I haven't been to the Digital World in months!" How exciting! Front paws raised, covering her mouth, while she took in the scenery. "It's warm here, too!" Cats loved being warm! Or kind of hot, really. But, Meicoomon could handle it!
At least someone liked it. The Renamon found his fur to be a little too warm right now. How did animals do this heat thing? "And, when do I find out what, exactly, I'm getting from this?" He was still determined it was going to be another female furry, somehow. There would be no comforting until the spirit was found!

"Aw, he's not that bad!" Elliot protested. "I mean, he . . . okay, well . . . um, at least . . . he's trying?" Elliot gave it his all, it was hard to find good points about such an utterly draining conversation. "There are a lot of Trailmon here, though. Maybe next time you'll get one more your taste. At least we didn't get one of the really grumpy ones that needs bribes, right? Because those guys can ditch you halfway to your destination, and that's really uncalled for." Why can the public transportation talk? Why can the public transportation not only talk but also be hateful?
"It could be either of those," Isaac said at Asher's question. "If there's anything they have in common, its usually that they appear someplace significant and isolated. You're not just going to find one lying on the ground in the middle of nowhere. We've had to go through abandoned labs, giant temples, and underground cities to find ours. And each one's different, so it's gonna be a bit hard making the cheat sheet. But hey, considering you've got two experienced spirit users backing you up, you're gonna be A-Okay. I'm sure of it."
"How's it feel being back home?" Elliot asked Meicoomon, smiling warmly. He knew that sometimes Kuu could really miss the Digital World, and that was with having a human who was merely reluctant to go back. Meicoomon didn't even get that luxury, considering Asher had no idea what he was doing until mere minutes ago. It must've been great finally having the chance to return. "I bet you must've missed it here, but don't worry. I'm sure now Asher's gonna take you all around the Digital World. It's gonna be great, I know it!" This little idiot really believed in Asher, didn't he?
"Hate to say you won't know what to expect," Isaac said, "But you're not gonna know what to expect. If there are two things I know about spirits, it's that they are tied to an elemental theme and that your newest one is going to be a lot more human-like. So I guess if we find out what kind of element Renamon's supposed to represent, then we'll have a much better idea of what we're getting into.
I mean, you used stealth, and you certainly caught yourself off guard with the form. Maybe the Element of Surprise?"

Significant and isolated. Okay, that sounded easy enough. But, why couldn't it just be found on the ground? That sounded even easier! Or, easier to be stolen or eaten. Hm. Were these things edible? If so, they were probably even more rare.
Still, the experienced spirit users didn't make Asher feel more confident. In fact, it made him feel like he needed not one, but two crutches, just to function. "Yeah, I guess," the Renamon shrugged, trying to brush it off. Unless it was a puzzle game, he really hoped there wouldn't be a need for help. The teen really sucked at puzzle games. Especially those ones that you have to slide around squares in a box to make a picture, and-- Wait. Sidetracked.
"It's great, nya!" Meicoomon purred, looking around. Green eyes shifted constantly, taking in the scenery. "I hope we can visit the Fur-latlands someday! It's where I hatched!" Wait, not from the Village of Beginnings? Well, it probably wouldn't be a surprise that not all Digimon hatched in one place. It would just get too crowded otherwise! Or, Meicoomon had a friend break her out before she was even born. Weird world, weird logic.
Elements? That seemed odd. But, Asher wasn't going to think too hard on it. Even with an awful joke like the element of surprise. "If I turn into a girl again, it's more like a Nightmare, than anything," he grumbled, keeping arms tightly crossed still. Ugh. How did women deal with these on a daily basis? "What are yours?"
With a little more walking, and probably hearing how awesome the elements of the brothers were, Whiskers began to bristle.
But, there wasn't even enough time to really give warning, as a wooden gate-like structure became apparent before them. Thick vines worked as curtains, or even fencing, to block off sight around the entrance, while a Honeybeemon and Witchmon sat on a log outside. Spotting the group, the bee Digimon was quick to rise from her seat. Hey! Oh, I mean... Halt! What are you doing here?"
"You need to work on your lines more, Honey," the Witchmon mused, fixing her hat. "But, I suppose it gets the point across."
"Well! It's not my fault that we don't get visitors very often!"
"It's your job to make sure we don't. Practice with Tinkermon more."
"Whatever! You're making me look bad!" It was true. Asher, at least, couldn't take the talking bee seriously anymore. Not that he ever really did. It was a talking bee, for crying out loud! "What are you people doing here?"

"Oh, that's an easy one. Just look at our Digivices and you'll see it easily," Isaac said. He pulled his from his pocket, showing a discordant mess of blues, purples, and reds swirling around one another. It was as if whoever designed the thing was both blind and a tie-dye loving hippie. "Mine's Chaos."
Elliot flicked out his bright white Digivice, golden lines running through the back in a stable grid formation. It glistened slightly in the light, making it stand out all the more in the relative darkness of the trees. "And mine's Order. Pretty fitting, huh?"
Isaac blinked as he looked from his Digivice, to Asher, to Elliot. "We sound like we're trying to be way too edgy, don't we?" Isaac asked, a little bit self consciously.
"I dunno. I think it sounds pretty cool," Elliot responded, huffing slightly. "Sure, it's not the most typical elements, but I kinda like it."
Isaac rolled his eyes slightly. "Well, anyway, the elements don't usually mean too much, beyond what kinda attacks you can use," Isaac clarified. "So Elliot's a lot better fighting straight up, while I'm more about trickery. And trust me, he does a darn good job of it. You'd be surprised how often he's come out and saved my bacon." It felt kind of weird admitting that his little brother was basically the hero of the group, but with how much it made Elliot smile Isaac didn't really mind.
And then, suddenly, there was a wall in their way. It was more like a gate, but still. Isaac looked up at the towering structure, but his focus was suddenly snatched by a droning sound. Sure enough, there was a talking bee addressing him, although her companion seemed to be chiding her on not saying her lines right. Was this some sort of routine? Was the giant gate basically some sort of prop? At the same time, they were talking about visitors. It was all very curious.
He tried to consider what to say, but Elliot beat him to the punch. "Hi there!" he said, merrily waving. "We're just passing through with a friend. She's looking for some-."
"-of the jungle's greatest sights," Isaac interrupted. If they had the spirit, and didn't want to share it, just telling them 'hey we're chasing after spirits' was a terrible idea! "She is new to this area of the Digital World, you see, and we really wanted to help her explore it. We couldn't help but notice such an impressive gate through the trees, and we just had to check it out. What sort of place have we stumbled upon?" At least this question would likely get them an explanation before being told to buzz off.

Huh. Chaos and Order. Those didn't sound very element-y. But, whatever. Asher didn't know how this stuff worked! "Edgy, cool, same thing, right?" Did that kill two birds with one stone? Hopefully, because Asher was more likely to side with Isaac on that opinion. Again, it wasn't like he knew anything about elements in the Digital World.
But, hearing Isaac talk about their fighting skills, the Renamon couldn't help but take the bait. "Oh! So that's why you're always the damsel in distress!" It was all making sense now! Isaac needed Elliot to always bail him out! Also, in part, he just wanted to harass the crap out of the older of the brothers.
Meicoomon simply watched all that was going down, with the gatekeepers, and worked on making sure there weren't any surprises coming around them. So far, it really seemed that these were the only two Digimon outside of the wall.
Hearing where the conversation was going, Witchmon couldn't help but scoff. "Impressive? Hardl--"
"It is pretty impressive, isn't it?" Oh, it looked like Honeybeemon took the bait. This warranted a groan from her partner, but there was no stopping the bee! "Wouldn't you like to know what this place is! But you won't! Because it's not allowed!"
Oh, thank goodness. Witchmon didn't need to step in.
"Ginkakumon doesn't allow visitors without good reason! What if we just let you in, and you killed our people and stole our stuff?"
Okay, maybe the older Digimon did need to step in. Darn it. "Honey, you're talking too much again. Gatekeepers don't talk this much. They just guard the gate. It's supposed to be easy, you're making it a chore." Why did new-bees have to be so enthusiastic? "You just tell them 'it's none of your business, go before I make you.' Is that so hard?"
Honey seemed to feel that it was, in fact, too hard. How else was she supposed to know why people were so close to their home? And, "well! What if it is their business?" Okay, so Witchmon was going to have to make note not to ever let Honey watch the gate alone.
Speaking of the gate, it seemed that the commotion had already drawn attention from someone within. Tiny, blue, and fuzzy, a Wanyamon managed to shuffle her way into visibility, staring at the group with wide eyes.
"See what you did? You made the little ones curious. This is what happens when you talk too much." At least it was only one, and not twenty of them! One blue puff was easy to contain. Get all the baby and in-trainings out here, and problems would be had.
"New people!" The little animal squealed, with a bounce. Oh no. Much more of this noise, and the duo really would have twenty tiny monsters pouring out the gate.
Witchmon was trying to shush the small creature, but to no avail. Especially when eyes fell to a feline in the group.
"It's a Meicoomon! I want to be a Meicoomon!" Oh no. More screeching. No, no, no. "This is so much fun! I'm going to tell everyone! We're going to play! And! It'll be great! I want to play with her!"
"Oh, no, Dear. No, we aren't playing. These are monsters," Witchmon tried to assure, while the puffball's eyes grew wide in terror. "They're going to eat you, if you don't go back in and pretend you never came out here!"
Asher shifted to look at Elliot and Isaac, since they had done the talking before. "Is this... how these things normally go?"
"I don't eat cats. That's cattibalism." Really? Why would a cat eat a tinier cat? This was just plain offensive!

Isaac blushed slightly, opening his mouth to try and come up with a retort. Asher had just slammed him hard. However, before he could say anything, his little bro oh-so-nobly came to his defense. "Nah, Isaac's a really good fighter too. He's just better at doing it indirectly," Elliot clarified. "He's good at confusing people, tripping them up, and really forcing them to watch their backs. And that's when I get 'em. Really, we're way weaker separately than when we're a whole." The strategist and the brute. Easily divided and conquered, but when working in sync nobody could put up a better fight.
"Thanks, Elli-"
"He's the princess because he's too cute and soft looking, duh."
". . . Thanks, Elliot." Wow, that enthusiasm dropped fast!
With that out of the way, it was time to focus on the specific gate. What could ever be behind it? Apparently, babies. The bros shot each other confused looks as a Wanyamon approached, excitedly cooing over Meicoomon. Whereas the guards saw this as a tragedy, Isaac saw it as an opportunity. Especially to help console a poor, scared little Wanyamon. "Hey. C'mon. Don't worry," Isaac said, voice soft. "Nobody's gonna hurt you. But please, head on inside. You wouldn't want to worry the grown-ups, would you?" He had the feeling convincing a small, impressionable Digimon to trust any suspicious forest-dwellers would've been a terrible idea.
Whereas Isaac tried to stop the child from bursting into terrified tears, Elliot tried reassuring the grownups. "Aw, you don't gotta worry about that! We'd never hurt a fly," he said, grinning. "In fact, I'd hate to brag, but we're kinda traveling heroes. We really like helping people. So if anything, we'd be the guys beating up the people trying to break into your house, kill you, and steal your stuff.
Why did you think we were here for that, anyway? Do you guys get attacked a lot?" Considering this was a fortress, there was probably a good reason for them being so walled off. But at the same time, Digimon could really be weird for weird's sake sometime. It could have been a genuine fortress, or it could have just been their equivalent of some nice, rustic architecture.

If Isaac being a princess didn't already make Asher want to laugh, Elliot's logic behind it made it impossible not to. The teen couldn't help but let out a few snickers, while trying to avoid eye contact with the older of the brothers. Oh man. This was priceless!
The blue kitten didn't seem to know what to do, listening to Isaac and Elliot both say different things. Just because she was tiny didn't mean that she didn't understand what they were saying! "But I want to play with the Meicoomon! I'm going to be one someday! It's true! I feel it in my whiskers!"
"That's funny. Isn't your name Whiskers?" the Renamon teased, nudging his pet with his toe.
But, oh, saying that only made it worse. The wide-eyed In-Training began squirming, uncertainly. "It's a sign! It's gotta be!" Witchmon groaned, looking between Elliot and Isaac. They were really mucking things up, weren't they? On top of that, they had people that were barely talking, and it was just plain suspicious to be in this part of the jungle, anyway! Something had to be up.
"Heroes?" Ha! Funny story! "I've never heard of ya!" Then again, Honey didn't even know any of these newcomer's names! Of course she hadn't heard of them! "And, wouldn't you like to know?" Well, yes. He had asked questions. That generally meant the kid wanted answers. "We have enough to deal with, without you people ruining it!"
Mr. Whiskers let out a huff, watching everything going on. This was really just a mess of bickering, wasn't it? "They're de-fur-nitely heroes! They're helping my furiend!" At this point, the Meicoomon was just grasping at straws.
"Meicoomon! Meicoomon!" The little Wanyamon began chanting, growing more frustrated. The strange monster boy wasn't going to scare this little Digimon away from what she wanted! If she cried loud enough, more of the little Digimon were going to hear it, and they would all start whining and running around outside. There was no winning!
And, Witchmon was growing progressively more annoyed by that. "Okay. Enough. Can we just drop the Deary on these kids and call it a day?"
"No way! Ginkaku will kill us if we lose a baby!"
Ugh. Fine. Don't let her take the easy way out. "Alright, alright, let's see," the humanoid Digimon groaned, trying to figure some sort of plan out in her head. "We really can't let all of you run around here, unattended. But, I'd rather be scolded by letting in a couple of strays, than murdered for releasing a mound of babies." This really wasn't great, either way. But, if she could figure out a way to make it all work to her advantage, maybe the scolding wouldn't happen, anyway! And, she really wanted that stupid, blue cat to shut up. Babies were so needy! "You're all curious about what's inside the gate, right? Our treasures, or whatever it is that has kept you in front of here for this long?" Yes, try to turn it to sound like you're doing them the favor. It totally isn't to shut up the furball. "I might be willing to make an offer, if you're willing to accept it." Of course, this sentence was ended with another wail from an impatient In-Training, causing the Witchmon to visibly cringe. "Quickly, accept it. The offer is only available for a short time!"

The bros considered contesting the hero point, but it was really too late. Wanyamon oh-so-badly wanted to spend time with its new idol, and nothing either bro could say at this point was going to change that. But hey, at least if Witchmon took issue, they'd be absolved of guilt for not encouraging a baby revolt. That made sense, right? It helped that there were apparently a lot of babies in this fortress, and Witchmon seemed really unwilling to deal with them all. Maybe this fortress was here to protect lost Digimon babies? That was so sweet of this Ginkakumon guy!
Of course, mention of the Deary had the bros quite confused. "Wait, what's a Deary?" Elliot asked, probably unheard beneath the cacophony kicked up by Wanyamon. How something so small could produce so much noise was an enigma to Elliot and Isaac a lot, but at least it was one that they were becoming accustomed to. Just ask Elecmon! Ooh, now that would be a good character reference for this kind of mission, so long as everyone involved knew who Elecmon was. The Village of Beginnings was pretty famous, right?
Witchmon, seemingly exasperated with this, quickly turned from threatening to drop something on them to offering them a bargain. Isaac looked around to try and evaluate the situation. On one hand, if Witchmon had any malicious intent, she probably would have made that more clear from the outset. Her suddenly doubling back from threats to bargains likely meant it wasn't some kind of plan to enslave the bros or get them killed. On the other hand, it could have been a sudden, cruel stroke of inspiration, and the fact that she didn't give any details about the bargain made it all the more suspicious. But what would be their alternative? Fight their way into a fortress full of babies? That was way too evil! Lie and sneak in anyway? Maybe, but it was kind of pushing it.
There may have been other options, but in the short time pressure Isaac had none of them sounded any good. "So long as we can check out the fortress, it's a deal," Isaac said, grinning confidently.
"Yeah, we're pretty great with helping out. Do you know the Elecmon at the Village of Beginnings?" Elliot asked. "He could so vouch for us, if he was here. So, what can we do for you?"

Asher and Meicoomon had no room to argue with what the brothers had suggested, instead nodding. They'd just have to go with it, and Meicoomon knew that there was no way she would be getting out of it, anyway. That Wanyamon was eyeing her like she was food!
"I wouldn't call it a fortress," the Witch was quick to quip, looking over the group. They had agreed a lot more easily than she had anticipated! This worked in her favor, really. "And, not all of you can just wander around our home."
Eyes narrowed toward Elliot, hearing about Primary Village. "We know of Primary Village. I don't advise using anyone from there as a reference for here, though." Oof. Maybe it would have been better if he had kept his mouth shut about that one!
Honey looked between her partner, and the group, trying to figure out what was going on. "Ginkaku's going to skin you alive for letting people in, Witchy. You know that, don't you?"
"Only if something bad happens," the blonde grinned, looking at the group. "But, if we have some collateral--"
"Is that like cholesterol?"
...Why did Witchmon even bother talking in front of Honey? "Eh, no." Darn it, now she lost her train of thought! This wasn't going to sound as appealing as she had initially intended it to! Why did Honey have to be so terrible at this job? "Dumbing it down. Meicoomon gets to go in, because Wanyamon wants to play. She can take a friend with her. But, we're going to keep two of you in holding," there was a pause, as she jabbed a finger in Honey's direction, to signal to keep her mouth shut. With her luck, the stupid bee was going to ask how they were supposed to hold people! "Just in case any of you think it's funny to destroy our camp. Nothing will happen to the two that we keep, unless you give us reason."
And! Since everyone had already agreed! They really couldn't back out of this awful plan now!
"Aren't the cells inside?" Oh, good. Honey was understanding that holding didn't mean literal lifting of strangers!
"Yes," the Witch agreed, tilting her head from side to side, "but, so is Deary. So, I doubt they would want to make a fuss." Still no clear answer to who Deary was, it seemed. Unless it was just a blanket name, for a variety of creatures. It seemed that Witchmon called everyone something. "So! Kitty, who will your playmate be?"
On the bright side, Wanyamon seemed to have settled down, only watching excitedly.
But, Whiskers wasn't so keen on the idea of picking someone. Eyes shifted through the group. Logically, it should be Asher that went with her. After all, it was his spirit that they were looking for! Yet, she didn't want to just use the brothers as some sort of weird payment. That just wasn't right. On top of that, Asher was sure to screw something up if he was allowed to roam freely. "I can only pick one?" Oh, this was stressful! "Nya," she whined, ears drooping. She did not like games where she had to pick a favorite! "Elliot?" But, a decision had to be made, nonetheless.
"Great!" Honeybeemon cheered, flying rapidly between the two boys that hadn't been picked. "You get to come with me!"
Witchmon let out another sigh at her partner's enthusiasm, before moving to open the gate. She was going to avoid giving enough time for the group to bicker too much about Meicoomon's decisions. "Alright. Don't do anything that makes you regret this," she chimed, pushing the door open.
Wanyamon began bouncing back inside, to a relatively open plaza. It really did look like a camp-of-sorts! Huts were built around the trees, and some within them, with some sort of fireplace in the center. "Follow me! Follow me! I'm gonna show you everything!" At least the fluffball was enthusiastic!
It didn't seem that a large sum of residents were visible, but those that were didn't appear particularly strong. In fact, from first glance, the strongest Digimon actually within the little village were rookie level! Tinkermon was busy playing tag with a bundle of Botamon, while a Biyomon was having a conversation with a Palmon. So far, none of them even seemed to notice that there were strangers here at all!
But, as far as Asher and Isaac were concerned, Honey wasn't letting them take the same direction, instead gesturing to follow along the fence, once within. "Hurry up! We don't have all day!"
"I feel like these spirits are not worth whatever we're doing right now," Asher admitted to his coworker, lowly, as he began to follow the bee's instructions. He really should have just dealt with hearing his digivice pretend to be an alarm clock at random hours of the day!

Poor Elliot looked really confused. How could anybody have a problem with the Village of Beginnings? It was such a happy, friendly place. And almost nothing bad ever happened there. And Isaac was going to put on a puppet show for small babies there soon! It wasn't the kind of place Elliot could ever see any issue with, but the harsh tone in Witchmon's voice convinced him to drop the issue. "Yes m'am," he squeaked, voice small. He was afraid asking why would get him evicted from the fortress, or apparently camp? It certainly looked like a fortress, at least, so Elliot felt justified as heck in calling it that.
Unfortunately, the deal took a turn for the sour. Apparently when Witchmon struck a deal with the group, she only struck that deal with half of the group. Was locking half the group really the kind of bargain she was going to make? "Oh, you have got to be . . ." Isaac grumbled, nervously shooting a look at Meicoomon to make sure she didn't end his gripe in the words "kitten me." This was seriously unnecessary! But considering that "we" got to enter the "fortress," it wasn't like Witchmon was violating the deal. The fact that they were entering just to be thrown in cages didn't change that fact, no matter how much Isaac wished it did. What else could they do? Say no and probably get fed to the Deary, whatever the heck that was?
Isaac had fully expected Asher to be picked, leaving him and Elliot locked in a cage. Instead, Meicoomon threw him right under the bus. Was it making sure he didn't do anything stupid, or just getting revenge for hundreds of "Mr. Whiskers" uttered in the past? Nevertheless, Isaac shot Asher a somewhat sad look. "See what I mean? Never know what to expect," he said, trying to keep his tone light to make sure neither of them ended up dejected. He turned to Witchmon, swallowing his pride to look her in the eye. "We'll be good. Promise," he said, the slightest hint of a grumble obscured under a few sweet layers.
"Don't worry. They're gonna be fine," Elliot assured the sad looking Meicoomon, scratching behind her ears. "Isaac never lets anything get him down. And Asher? I know he can take care of himself." Elliot, what the heck are you on to believe that? Then again, if Asher hadn't ruined himself doing something stupid by this point, he was obviously smarter than most people gave him credit for.
Elliot obediently followed after Kitty, a spring in his step. "So! Why don't you tell us about here, little guy?" Elliot asked, curious. Part of it was to be a polite of guest, but part of him was still really curious about this fortress in the middle of nowhere! "I'd love to hear more about your home."
Isaac, on the other hand, dragged his feet slightly as he followed Asher and Honey. "Yeah, not gonna lie? This kinda sucks," he whispered back. "It's not always pretty work. But I was kinda hoping your first adventure would be a lot less . . . well, passive."
Suddenly, Isaac was struck by an idea. "So, what's the Deary?" he asked Honey, feeling she'd be way more likely to talk than Witchmon was. Then, once she started talking, he whispered low enough for her voice to mask his. "You can turn invisible, right? At least unlike me, you've got a shot here," he whispered Asher's way. Only question was, how long would he be able to convince Honey to talk for? Maybe he'd have a lot of time to lay out the suggestion, or maybe he'd have to belt it out at incomprehensibly fast speeds.

Whiskers was feeling awful with her decision, no matter what Elliot would say. "I'm supposed to keep Ashpurr safe," she pointed out, lowly. It was her job! "Can't keep him safe if he's a prisoner. Can't keep him safe if he insults the people here, either." What could a rookie do? She was stuck! At least choosing Elliot was a more cautious plan!
Kitty was extremely excited about this attention, though! Not that she knew what to say! "This is my home!" Yep, that was a given. "It's fun! There are lots of nice Digimon, and we can play tag all day! Isn't that fun? Do you like tag?"
"I haven't purrlayed tag in years?" The feline cringed, looking to Elliot. It wasn't like Meicoomon had time for games like that! She was a busy cat!
Of course, the fluffball was baffled by this statement. "What? We gotta play tag! And hide and seek! Oh! But no hiding in Ginkakumon's hut! He gets really mad!" That was an awfully specific demand! "Sometimes, he brings us yarn and bouncy balls! Who doesn't like those?!" Was Isaac legitimately disappointed that Asher's first experience with this wasn't full of adventure? Maybe, he'd get to sleep in the cell while he waited. That was good enough for him! "I would rather passive than painful!"
Honey buzzed, surprised with the interest in one of their residents. "The Deary? The Digimon had to pause, thinking about the question for a moment, before bumbling with laughter. "You really aren't from around here! That's not his name! Witchy's the only one that can call him that!" The Honeybeemon shook her head, trying to keep her cool. "Everyone knows him! He only really listens to Witchy, though. Even though he's Ginkaku's right hand since, uh," the bee paused, slowly mumbling, "oh, right," before ignoring the prior ramble, "Ginkaku can't even keep him in line sometimes, when he gets in a mood! But, Witchy? She's got him under her spell! Haha! Get it? Love? Spell. Yeah, it's great. I thought of it myself." If Witchy ever heard that joke, Honey would be nothing but data in a matter of seconds!
Asher looked at Isaac, letting out a heavy sigh. He supposed, if he really wanted, he could probably find enough shade. There were more trees here, than in the forest at home, anyway. But, "no," was uttered, rather than following the Chaos-element's idea. "If I disappear, who gets in trouble for it?" There was only one actual captive with that, after all. "And, you're stuck as a human. I'm not leaving you like that." Plus, it was Asher's fault that Isaac was so worn out, anyway!

"Yeah . . . I don't like leaving Isaac behind, either." Isaac admitted, sighing sadly. "He's my big bro. We've done everything here together. But I know they'll keep each other safe. They've really been bonding lately! Or at least that's what Asher's been saying. Besides, these guys are nice so far! I'm sure they wouldn't hurt them. They just wanted to be careful, that's all." Isaac was trying his best to make things less scary for Meicoomon, but it was clear he was feeling a little nervous by how much he was rambling. He gave her another pat on the head, mostly for his sake rather than hers.
Then again, getting to spend an adventure playing games sounded fun! Tag and hide and seek, for starters. Although the mention of Ginkakumon's hut was a little conspicuous, it was probably just because he was the big boss man around here. No clan leader would want a bunch of little babies running around his private quarters, right? Still, if they were going to be looking for a spirit, that would be a likely place to start. He just would need to find a not-rude, not-mean way of handling it.
"Playing all day? That sounds really nice," Elliot said, voice fond. Boy, was that something he couldn't afford to do these days! "You got any favorite games? 'Cause I'd be up for whatever. I'm not as good as tag as I used to be, though," he said, looking down sadly at his leg. "But I'll still do my best!" Meicoomon was probably going to run circles around him nonetheless. However, if he didn't give it his all, he wouldn't be nearly entertaining enough to learn about this place!
Isaac sighed. "I'm tough, I could handle it," he whispered, sneaking in a quick response at the tail end of Honey's explanation. "But thank you. Guess we're in this one together, huh?" He wanted to tell Asher he was an idiot, that he needed to run while he had a chance, that he wouldn't let anyone break him. Not even the Deary. However, if he got caught and wouldn't break, what would happen to Elliot and Meicoomon? Hell, when they find Asher, what would happen to him? It was a setup that would need perfect execution, and perfect execution wouldn't be Asher's strong suit on his first ever adventure.
"A love spell, huh?" Isaac wondered, curious. "So, what's his real name, anyway? Be a shame not to know how to greet our new neighbor." It was a longshot. If Honey even answered, it might have been a type of Digimon that Isaac had never seen before. But he'd rather know what kind of warden to be prepared for than go into this flying blind.

Wanyamon paused, following Elliot's stare to his leg. "That's okay! I don't even got legs! So I'm not good at it either! But, you don't have to be good at something to have fun!" But, when it came down to what the cat wanted to play, she wasn't as certain! "Oh! I don't know! Usually, other guys pick and I just play!" Talk about indecisive! Now the kitten wasn't sure what to do! She didn't want to bore her new friends!
"Do you guys know any games to play?"
Meicoomon was clearly at a loss, much like with tag. Green eyes shifted around the camp, trying to think of what to suggest. "I'm not sure. Elliot?" Darn it, why couldn't Meicoomon be the one relaxing in a cell right now?
"I don't want you to have to handle it," the Renamon mumbled, looking around. Experienced or not, Asher didn't want to see anything bad happen to people just because of something he was supposed to get. It just wouldn't sit right.
Honey scoffed at the curiosity. Man, she was starting to get what Witchy was saying about talking too much! Now it was like people wanted a story from her! "For your sake, I hope you don't find out his name!" The digimon snickered, failing to inform anyone of who their keeper might be. "You don't want to greet him! He's not one for, heh, small chat."
Of course, reaching the 'cells,' it didn't seem like anyone else was in sight. So, the mystery of Deary would continue to go unsolved. "Hope you're not afraid of the dark," the bee started, with a hum. Maybe she should have mentioned this sooner.
Those cells? Yeah, no. They were pretty much just some big, wooden cargo crates. Most seemed to be missing little bits and pieces of wood, allowing a small bit of light, and air circulation, but not much more.
And, that was about Asher's limit. "Boxes, huh?" The vixen shifted, nervously, "can't we just, uh, sit out here? It's not like we'll go anywhere." As long as it wasn't crammed in one of those crates, he would just be great!
Except, Honey wasn't interested in an answer like that. Pointing to one that already had one panel open, to allow people to enter, she insisted, "Witchy's rules! In the cell! Before I have to call for help!"
Okay, okay, so that was kind of persuasive. But, the sprite still took several shifts back and forth before even moving toward the crate any further. Suddenly, he didn't think he'd be able to sleep during the wait.

Wait, he had to pick? Oh, that sucked! Elliot was super indecisive. Nevertheless, it seemed he was being put on the spot, and he'd have to think of a game that was both a good recon opportunity and a good, fun time for the kids. Then again, he couldn't go snooping too soon, could he? It'd probably be a better idea to get some light, simple games in first, maybe have some conversation before really starting to scout out the compound. "Do you know how to play hopscotch?" Elliot asked. "If you have any any chalk or some kind of marker, we could play that one really easy!
What're the other Digimon here like? Everyone seems really nice so far."
Isaac nodded at Asher's statement. Man, now he felt even more like a jerk for his exasperation towards Asher! Why did he have to be so goddamn nice all the time? Still, there was little more to do than keep his head down and be quiet, so he let the statement hang unhindered. What was he supposed to do? Fight Asher on this and demand he be put in trouble?
All Isaac learned about Deary was that he was a bad, bad man. Well, that, and he was head over heels for Witchmon and do anything for her. Unfortunately, impersonating witches was far from Isaac's strong suit, so there was nothing he could do there. At this point if he kept asking he'd just seem suspicious, too, so that would've been a stupid, stupid idea. Figuring he wouldn't get any more info, he boldly marched towards his cells. It'd probably be the usual. Cold steel bars, dark cramped quarters, snarling inmates.
Or maybe it would be a goddamn box! Isaac's jaw dropped in shock as he looked from box to Asher. "Can we at least get separate quarters?" Isaac asked as he looked at the giant crate. That thing barely looked big enough to fit one person, let alone two! And they were being goaded into just one of these things? Nu uh. No way. There was no way this could possibly work. They'd be packed like sardines, and that was a charitable description. But rules were rules, and they did agree to this plan, so he shuffled into the crate while muttering under his breath. If Asher wasn't going to start, he would.
It was dark. Really, really dark. Faint amounts of light being let in did little to make Isaac feel less crummy about the arrangement. And the air was so stale he was practically choking on it. He was supposed to share this with Asher? How? Nevertheless, he crammed himself into a corner, trying to give Asher as much space as possible. If the two of them were gonna be stuck in here, they might as well not be left stacked on top of each other. "Well, welcome to home sweet home," he said, dryly. "Enjoying your stay?"

The blue kitten rolled back and forth a little. Chalk. Chalk, chalk, chalk. Did they have that? She'd have to go ask the others! "I can find a chalk!" Sure! As soon as Kitty knew what chalk even looked like! But, thinking of the others, a question was posed. And Kitty was thrilled to answer! "The others are great! You should meet Botamon! She's my best friend! Ginkakumon, Witchy, and her boyfriend take really good care of us, and they play games with us, too! Honey just started helping out! We're like a really, really big family! I guess!" At least, that was what the kitten had been told!
"Witchy likes to play the "Quiet Game" too much, though, so don't take her advice on what to play ever!"
Oh yeah! Games! The kitten began bouncing up and down, looking at all the huts. "I'm going to go find one of those chalk-marker-things! Stay here!" With that, the Wanyamon bounced off to go find a game-making item.
Whiskers scrunched her nose, before looking to Elliot. Was he really planning on playing games right now? "Do you have any plan? Or, are we actually waiting for her to bring back chalk?" They could be waiting for quite a while!
"Maybe you should have asked for the terms before agreeing to Witchy's deal!" Honey snickered, while trying to hurry the duo to the crate. "We're not gonna waste extra crates on you guys!" They weren't worth it!
With Isaac in the crate, the teen found it even harder to back out of the situation. Why hadn't he just gone with the idea of disappearing? Darn it! It was too late for that plan now! An additional push from the bee monster was enough to 'coax' Asher into the remaining space in the box, before Honey closed the small entrance.
It was helpful that Isaac had thought about giving Asher space. If only for the fact that Isaac probably really didn't want to touch the other spirit user. But, the Renamon remained eerily quiet for as long as possible. Calm, happy thoughts. If he just shut his eyes, he couldn't tell they were in a box. Right?
Still, there wasn't enough airflow in the tiny room, and even if there was, Asher would have felt like he was choking on it. Paws twitched, nervously, while trying to find some sort of happy place. Unfortunately, Isaac's voice pulled him back to Earth. Or, really, the Digital World.
Pressed tightly against one of the walls, the fox let out a shaky breath. Oh, he was supposed to answer, wasn't he? "It's, uh," he started, trying to sound cheerful, but instead fell into a loop, "it's... ha." The small box lit up in a burst of code, as the teen lost hold of the Sprite he had been walking around as for so long. Would it help him breathe, if he wasn't trapped in fur?
No. No, he still couldn't find the air. "It's great," the redhead's voice cracked, drawing hands up to tighten on his own shoulders. "D-" Make a joke. Anything to lighten the mood. Don't do this with a witness. "Do you think we can make this a," keep going, be convincing, "a vacation home?"
