Oboro whooped as Ikkakumon and Gryz defeated Golemon, but the celebration was short lived as the core sent out a terrifying shockwave that forced him onto the ground.
Ikkakumon was horrified at the scene around him, and felt powerless for a moment. He wasn't able to save anyone else, but he could at the very least lessen the damage on himself to help out later. "Icicle Coat!" he grunted. A slight chill filled the air as a freezing aura surrounded Ikkakumon, but it did nothing to stop the awfully powerful gravity from forcing him down.
Oboro strained to move, but saw Tetsu nearby, seemingly hurt. It looked like he had a nasty fall. "Tetsu," he grunted. He wanted so badly to help his friend, but couldn't move. The pain was almost enough to make him pass out, but he held on.

The first to go down was the Golemon, taken down by the Gryzmon and the Ikakumon. Wasn't a surprise with how things were sorted out so far. The next creature to go down was just as lucky if not worse off. The mega level spirit snorted softly and shook it's head looking down where the Gotsumon had been. with those two left...
Just the core huh...?
The spirit would turn, a small frown creeping on his face. The black shockwave was quick to roll out and he simply wasn't ready for it. He was floored with everyone else and he grunted in irritation feeling that itching sensation of pain. It was something he was used to; it was a constant thing that he had to deal with. It wasn't like this feeling was new either; but it certainly was much more than what he was expecting from this core.
Once the intial burst was over the spirit stood up; mouth open in a snarl as the black data rolled off of him. One arm lifted and he'd shake his head; the pain and dull sensations that followed were pushed aside for the most part. The others would have their troubles or they would deal with it in such a way to lessen the impact. But their mission was still crystal clear.
"You lost. Plain and simple. You should of seen it from the start."
A single Flash orb spawned at the tip of his pointer and middle finger, it'd launch towards the wall fully intending to blast it away. Wether or not it did was besides the point.

That Gotsumon got what it deserved, now it was crumpling before Tsukaimon's eyes. Tsukaimon laughed out loud when it was destroyed and lo and behold even the Golemon was done for. Now tsukaimon could finally get what he came for or so he thought. As he was flying there laughing, he failed to notice that the gravity suddenly got much more stronger and he was forcefully dragged down on the corrupted data and swallowed a large portion.
"Hey that's cheating! Get me out! Get me out! Blrbb!" He yelled that this situation called for him to be silent was lost on him and he ended up losing a large amount of health as result of this. Hopefully this attack won't last for long otherwise it could be a problem.

Not only did the Flash Orb completely smash the Earthen Wall to dust, the blast wave ripped through the Corrupted Core itself. It began to fragment, but would not yet fall. Indeed, its pieces were orbiting around what appeared to be a pale yellow point of light.
The light was growing brighter, the core was growing more chaotic and wild, the mist of data below was roaring around as though in a high wind. And furthermore, the ground began to tremble. Still, the integrity of the temple above remained intact.
"You are so close, my children" a heavenly, bodiless female voice would whisper to them like the wind. "Please... remove this cancerous corruption from my temple". It seemed that the spirit of the goddess was willing for them to succeed. A strange glowing golden aura radiated from up the stairs behind them, giving them an immediate burst of adrenaline.
It seemed that the Core was going to prepare its ultimate technique. But would the group of adventurers be able to stop it in time?!
The Goddess Statue uses Gift of the Land on the Party.
Gift of the Land: Removes all active cooldowns
The Corrupted Core is charging a terrible attack.
WARNING: If you fail to destroy the Corrupted Core this turn, it will result in a fail for this mission. Come at it with your best if you want to succeed!

The ground trembled, the corruption raged, the bear has yet woke up or stirred... and that was when the light of the Digivice shone through. Despite its coloration that has turned into darker shade, a sign of corruption has reached it too, it's still defiant, and the light calls out to the bear. Slowly, the owner of the Digivice stood. His ribs hurted, so much that he swore that even breathing hurts. Yet he stood, he does not want to just stay there, laying for nothing.
"Gryz..."
Even speaking hurt. What had became of him? Yet even so, he's not going to lose and die here...
"Get... up..." between bracing the pain and steeling up his legs, Tetsu commanded. "...C'mon, partner, you're stronger than this... so... Get up... get up and... fight..."
World of pain was enough to describe his feeling at the moment. Did his vision reddened because blood?
"...Gryz.... You're stronger than this..." Even with the support of his leg, he still find that he's slipping and about to hit the floor again, yet he persisted. He persisted and stood, albeit still shaky from the pain. "...therefore... I refuse... to accept that you'll... get consumed by that core's malice..."
His grip to his Digivice strengthened, his only source of strength as it keeps shining brilliantly. "...THEREFORE, DON'T LOSE! WE'RE GOING TO GET THIS DONE RIGHT!! GET UP, GRYZ!!"
The bear's eyes opened, and he roared. Even with one eye already got corrupted, his other one still his own. He braced the pain, he ignored the sensation of burning down there. Each step was a heavy one, and each step bring him closer to the core. He stood just few steps away from it and readied his stance. The one who got wounded the most in this time that is his ally is Ikkakumon... and that was his biggest source of damage. Blast of dark aura came out from the bear. Yet spark of gold, his own color, began to dominate back... It's time to hit it with all his strength.
"ATEMIGAESHI!!"
The bear mauled the core and jumped back. It was all his strength... and it better worked.
Gryz used Atemigaeshi: 50% on damage done to Ikkakumon added to his attack 20% strength boost from Raging Grizzly added.

The crushing weight that filled the chamber finally disappeared, and Oboro slowly stood up. This was finally time to be focused. This was the time to let it all out. "Finish it, Ikkakumon!" he shouted. He gave a hearty battle cry befitting of a wild child like him. A strange, purple symbol appeared on the young boy's chest as he yelled. It seemed that something was awakening in him, but what it truly was wouldn't be revealed until later. Ikkakumon, meanwhile, suddenly had a burst of energy. He roared with a newfound power as a purple aura enveloped him. "Northern Light!" The beam of ice shot straight out of Ikkakumon's jaw, larger than it had ever been. With any luck, this would be enough to finish the fight.

Kan was glad that his flash orb had smashed the earthen wall and the boon of having it rip through the corrupted core itself? Was just an added treat. He had to admit that if that it was a pleasant turn of events. Then there was that growing light, the chaotic and wild nature of which made him a bit uneasy.
He stood up, sure that he didn't have anything he could do immediately against it and the core itself looked beyond dangerous. He hesitated wondering if what he had said had irritated it or something. But then that heavenly bodiless voice spoke and the spirit stiffened. He felt that sensation run through him and he snarled softly; not in irritation but more in surprise.
The bear did some attack called Atemigaeshi.
The next attack was from the Ikkakumon, some attack Called northern light.
He had to admit they both had fitting attacks, at least they seemed right up the ally of their level and he had to wonder what they'd be like later on. Even Being unable to use this move to the fullest it was still the strongest attack he had. And this core looked like it needed to get hit with something close to it.
"The seven."
The six bones that were left spun around in a circle slowly at first and then slowly all six points were aimed at the core. Holding his hand outwards they flew towards the core, intending on piercing through it if possible. Even if they failed in that they would likely deal a good amount of damage before having to return to their "owner".

That was it! Nobody holds tsukaimon like that and gets away with it, despite how much he actually deserved it. After getting himself free. Tsukaimon glared at the corrupted core intending to get back on it at all costs.
He flew up again and as he did something peculiar happened. As he watched the core almost but not fully falling apart, he heard a female voice calling out for them that now was their chance, at that point tsukaimon felt like he had power to do one more thing to the core. With a mighty roar he inhaled air and out came a fireball flying right at the corrupted core.

The attack from the Gryzmon made white sparks burst from the core, the rotation of its shell around the light of its inner form becoming distorted slightly, but still, it persisted. Then the beam of ice from the Ikkakumon shot at it, momentarily slowing its chaotic orbit as white ice crystals formed, but shattered as it resumed.
It was the spirit wielder's attack that finally ended it. Spiritual bones ended up piercing the core, one by one, and they finally brought its orbiting to an end. The damage too great, the pierced core halted, then, disintegrated. A lingering bit of data remained in defiance, until it was eliminated by the Tsukaimon.
The Core of Corruption was now destroyed. All of the black data in the room seemed to evaporate and disappear, leaving behind nothing but soil and sand beneath their feet.
The Goblimon and Ogremon awakened from their stupor. The Goblimon blinked at them.
"You... you saved us" he breathed. "Thank you... so much"
Little else remained in the room. The corruption had been erased. It would seem for the group that its next task would be to seek Coredramon for their reward. Nothing else would harm them in this temple. The Goblimon and Ogremon would follow the group wherever they went.

The corruption is gone, and the bear fell to the ground, the corruption showing on his body also faded. Tetsu limped closer to his partner, who just smirked at him. He raised a paw for a high five, to which Tetsu returned. Gryz did not want to degenerate, not now... not when there is still one enemy in sight. Regardless, he finally had the chance to heal himself. The cool sensation on the smarting, hot pain was like a bliss. Tetsu meanwhile approached the ogre brothers and offered their diary.
"...I'm sorry this happened to you," he muttered "and your sister."
He wondered if they managed to save their sister... It's such a sad fate. Could they get reunited? Or will they bear the grief of losing their sister forever? Or have they managed to save her? It's all a mystery, but he wanted to express his condolence first and foremost. "Anyway, we should get out of here. It's safe now..."
But his body is definitely still aching. Maybe he need to check to the hospital just in case.

The corruption was finally destroyed. The temple seemed to finally feel stable. Ikkakumon breathed a sigh of relief and passed out, reverting back to his Gomamon form in the process. The situation had been more intense than anything he had experienced so far, and he was exhausted.
Oboro, meanwhile, walked over to his partner and slung him over his back. He, too, was exhausted, and didn't really know what had happened to him at the end of the battle. "That was fun!" he said, still appearing cheerful and energetic on the surface. "We saved the day!" He was so busy taking care of Gomamon that he didn't really pay any attention to the Goblimon and Ogremon as he made his way back to the outside world. "Come on, Tetsu!" he called to his friend. "Let's get going!"

With all the attacks on the core, Kan would be very surprised if they failed in destroying it. Everything came together so well and he had to admit that it somehow would of been worse off if they had less people. They had just the right amount bouncing around the whole way through.
"I have never seen something like that core before, It was strange. Something worth noting and warning others about."
Kan glanced around and sigh softly, his digital body ached and he had to admit that he was tired from this whole endevour. What was he going to do if this became a constant problem? Hopefully he'd get paid for it but at the same time... He would worry about it more than anything else.
"Let us leave and inform our Client that we succeeded. Ogremon, Goblimon I would not recommend staying here or anywhere close by. There might be after effects of destroying that core, and I don't think either of you would want to get caught by it."
Kan would head out of the "temple" not really stopping on the way up. They finished here, what else was there to say?

This was it then, the core was destroyed and all leftover data was vaporized. It might as well have been the same given Tsukaimon's knowledge that this particular power could only properly be wielded by an unselfish person who intended to heal. That didn't sound like tsukaimon at all and he knew it fully well. Tsukaimon therefore flew straight towards the stairs and was fully intent to leave and get paid asap unless something or someone would stop him.
Now was the time for the paycheck.

Goblimon and Ogremon looked down in sadness as sympathy was given to them and their sister. "We hope... she found a way" Goblimon admitted. He accepted the diary with thanks from the human.
As the group walked through the temple, it largely remained as before. If they would turn to see the statue of the goddess though, they would notice that she would now be smiling, but would say no more. It seemed that her blessing had used up the last of her power.
However, as they climbed the stairs to the fractured entrance hall, they would notice that there would be signs of green. Vines had appeared on the many pillars; desert flower bushes were blossoming in the sand; young trees had appeared. The removal of the corruption seemed to have brought the temple to life with flora.
And as they stepped out of the temple, they would see that the barren desert had seemingly transformed into a vast savannah. The plant life was not lush as it would be in the tropics, but simply so of a healthy arid region. Golden grasses had grown, with hardy cacti and shrubs now able to grow in the soil. It had all happened so fast, but, this was just so of the digital world.
Coredramon was still there to receive them, his red eyes gleaming with happiness. "You... you did it!" he said to them. "How did you...?" he saw that the party seemed to be quite exhausted and pained from that affair. "Oh that doesn't matter, I suppose. But you have succeeded, so, here will be your payment".
Coredramon then ensured that each member of the group got their fair share in bits. It was up to them or not to tell him more of their story, but, Coredramon mostly just saw the end result of their journey - the Earth was no longer corrupted.
He looked curiously at Goblimon and Ogremon though. "I don't believe I saw you two enter" he said.
"We entered... long time ago" Ogremon answered. "But now we go home". With that, Goblimon and Ogremon soon left to where they remembered their old home was.
(OOC: Here we go, the ending. Just sign off with a finishing post and then we'll get to the rewards).

The climb was rather uneventful, but Tetsu saw the statue is now smiling. He can't help but felt a bit sad. It must be quite a long time that it stayed on that state... and now, it's completely freed from the corruption. Tetsu clapped three times--a gesture of prayer-- and whispered a thank for it. He know that it's probably not the way in Greek or in Roman, but he can't help it. He wanted to thank the goddess, both for saving the two ogre brothers and for helping them on the last moment.
"...Maybe, if the time is right, I'll come back again," Tetsu promised. "...Until then, please have a sweet dream... Thank you, Mother Gaia."
He was the last to came out to the surface, but the scenery that greeted him was more than enough to make the boy shed a tear of happiness. So this is what satisfaction felt like. Coredramon greeted them, but Tetsu was too tired to even explain, so Gryz just gently put him on his back. The sensation of the soft fur made Tetsu drift off to dream land himself.
"There are too many to talk about... If you want to hear how we do it, it have to wait for later, unfortunately," Gryz said. "I need to take care of my partner first. He's wounded in the scuffle. It was quite nasty too. Anyway, off I go. Take care, Coredramon. If you need the story for research purpose or whatever, you can meet us in Terminus... Oboro, Gomamon, I'll take my leave first."
With that, the bear took off to the distance, going to find a Trailmon that can bring him and his partner back to the civilization.
Little did they know, stench of corruption was so thick in the bear. It's only because his heart and his partner's digivice that it's contained. But until when will it stay like that?
