Corrupted Earth [N-Rank Mission] 5/5

Hearing the Tsukaimon's remark, the Gabumon who was once beside the human Trey, took a step forward and growled deeply. He was certain whether he would win in a fight on his own like this, but he would try to in order to defend his human. The Agumon who had left to go to the bathroom, clearly relieved bow, returned to his human's side. "What's going on?" He asked, seeing his brother eyeing off the other Digimon. It was quite strange really, a little surprising to be more accurate, considering that Skull was the level headed one, always thinking before acting, the logical one out of the twins. "Its nothing." Trey stated, stepping forward and taking hold of Skull's hand to bring him back while looking at the opposing Digimon. There was no intention of a fight but Trey knew that he should probably stay away from the Digimon from now on... He bowed lightly to Tsukaimon and then carried on to bow towards all the others within the area apologetically. "I apologize, we are ready." He stated, gaining his composure.
The twin brothers were now standing on either side of Trey, the three of them looked to each other once and then began heading towards the ruin's entrance. Trey had honestly hoped that he would be able to make friends while taking on this mission, probably not one of the first thoughts to be having in such a situation but it was definitely a nice thought to have. However, it seemed like he had already made an enemy. "Guys..." Trey said softly, looking down at his partners as they approached the entrance. "Lets keep our guard up... With everyone." He stated. "I think it would be best to linger back a little once inside and be everyone's backup when and if required." The two Digimon nodded as they continued forward. Trey's reasoning behind this was mostly that the others on this mission seemed a little more experienced... Okay, a lot. Trey, Bulk and Skull had only known each other for a little over a week, maybe two?

There were a lot of things said and done; whether it was the indirect fight between a Tsukaimon or a Leormon seemingly angry with the question Suzuran did or Reavermon setting the ground rules about their association. Mana probably only paid attention to Coredramon talking about the possible traps the place could have before before he said the magic words. "When you're ready, feel free to enter."
Music to her ears, really. Pumping a fist in the into the air, a confident smile took over her features. "Alright! Now that everyone's thoughts are made, only action remains! Let's do this!" The redhead gestured towards her partners, making the rare, confident smirk appear on Suzuran's face. "Well said." And so, the trio began to set off towards the ruins; they could see them in the distance, so it'd take them some time to reach them, but they had no intention to stop. If anybody wanted to keep asking needless questions or had second thoughts about this, they could always catch them up later. Or leave the mission if they felt like not risking it, right? "The last to reach the entrance is a rotten egg!"
What else could Mana say. She was already overly hyped about this adventure.

The spirit user listened to what the lion digimon had to say, though the fact that the guardromon was glitching out rang oddly with him. Could it be something relevant with the corruption or perhaps it was another problem that needed to be solved all it's own? Certainly questions for later or for when they came across this digimon again.
"The Guardromon will be dealt with accordingly. "
Upon mention of the bits the spirit user simply shook it's head. It seemed he was dealing with a very straightforward solitary digimon. The spirit tutted at the question the Tsukaimon posed; they didn't even have a choice as the allies they had access to in this mission. They were stuck with one another regardless of personal desire. He didn't really like repeating himself so he simply nodded.
The male tamer seemed a bit chastised by the fact the Tsukaimon had asked such a question; one of the partners reacting negatively about it. He'd snort and shake his head once more. Who could he rely on not mess up in this situation? He'd have to gauge that as they progressed and not from the initial interactions. The female tamer and her partners seemed to be ready to go, even jesting about a rotten egg or something along those lines. The spirit user didn't say another word and simply headed towards the ruins.
Honestly there wasn't much more left to say.

"A Guardromon you say?" Coredramon asked Leon, intrigued. He looked uneasily into the ruins. "Well... that may be then, but, the corruption of the ruins may have changed that by now. In my observations here, movements have been observed deep inside. It might not be the same temple that you explored".
While he hadn't gone in to make sure, there were enough signs of it on the outside for him to guess it was a possibility. Shifting sands, shaking ground, noises within the depths of the temple.
Coredramon was a little confused at the Tsukaimon asking to bring an 'it' with them. He then realized he was talking about one of the humans. 'Oh dear, perhaps I should have asked for a team with better camaraderie?' he thought, starting to get the feeling in his gut that there was a chance they might not work together down there, going from the Gabumon's growling.
Still though, they were the hired help and Coredramon could only trust that they got the job done. He watched after them as they entered the ruins.
As you enter the tall open portal to the entrance hall of the temple, you see a once majestic sandstone room reduced to ruin. Where there was once two dozen decorative pillars stretching to the roof four metres above, only about four remain - the rest collapsed and shattered on the dusty floor. It is lit by sunlight entering through gaps in the roof - piles of rubble settled underneath where the roof had caved in.
A thin layer of black data hovers above the floor at about ankle height, appearing like thin smoke - wisps of it rising and falling with the breeze entering from outside. This data would not harm you, but, it wouldn't make you feel particularly good either.
There is little things to note in the entrance hall, other than a doorway at the far end. Once grand carved wooden doors were here - now they were both reduced to dust. Beyond this doorway, you can see a set of stone stairs leading downward. The data appears to be originating from them. However, the stairs beyond appear dark, as the sunlight does not extend down the stairway.

OOC Post: (with my staff assistant account so I don't gain a post for any of my charas)
Alright, I was hoping that it wouldn't have to come to this, but I would like to keep these missions running so it's fair on those that want to continue.
From now on, if a player hasn't posted within 1 week when it's their turn, then their turn can be skipped. They can resume their turn at any point after that.
And further, from today, if a player hasn't posted within 2 weeks (if they don't have an excuse), then they'd be booted from the mission and liable to be replaced. Sorry about that.
So, in this situation, since Leon hasn't posted in 8 days, it can now be Tsukaimon's turn.

I let Tsukaimon take the IC blame for Leon being absent, simply because it suits his character.
Tsukaimon didn't like the idea of sharing room with a holy digimon so he hatched a plan of having everyone walk away to the mission without Leon. After-all what use is a rookie version of a Leomon who for some reason tends to die at the most inconvenient times?
"Hurry, we have a mission to take care of. The Leormon can just catch up" Tsukaimon was completely unrepentant when Agumon called him out on being a bigot and when Trey apologized he smiled as if Trey technically owed him more but that Tsukaimon was generous enough to forgive him anyway the underlying arrogance towards humans was impossible to miss. "Ehh don't make it a habit." He was also quick to approve the notion that Trey was to be their 'rear guard' (the word support didn't pass his mind) "You do that" Tsukaimon then prepared to enter the ruins.

Skippin' Trey Apparently, they had not one, but four rotten eggs! Why the Leormon, the Gabumon, the Agumon and the human hadn't decided to come was a mystery for Mana, but it wasn't like she cared too much about them; maybe they had second thoughts about this whole ordeal, or maybe they just didn't want to get their clothes dirty. Aaaanyhow!
"Well, we are at the entrance now.... any brilliant ideas now, Mana?" Suzuran had mixed feelings about this whole ordeal, but the fact that some of the members she had perceived as weak had decided to exclude themselves from the ordeal. Had the reward been a pool instead of a fixed amount, this would have made her a lot happier, but as things were, it just meant fewer nuisances. "Well, of course! We get in!"
Even if the black thingy that emanated from the ground didn't give her the best of feelings, she wouldn't let something as small as that hamper their journey! Venturing into the entrance with her partners right behind her, Mana's visage soon enough disappeared into the darkness. Both Ayaka and Suzuran were as aware as they could, just in case something lurked in these old ruins. The latter wasn't overly concerned, but if there was something that wanted to have a fight, she didn't want to miss the first shot at it.

It didn't matter to him how many people didn't enter in, he was given a job and he'd make sure that it'd see through in some variety or another with or without their help. The Tsukaimon seemed to be in a rush to get inside; he couldn't really blame them for wanting to continue forward; after all quick completion would reflect well on everyone involved. The other human and her digimon exchanged a few words before heading into the ruins in earnest.
There once again wasn't much for him to say; no galvanizing words that came to mind. It was as simple as walking through a doorway into the next zone so to speak. The spirit user gripped his scythe a little tighter and headed after the other "two". He considered briefly bringing up his ability to phase through things as a good venue to avoid traps. If and when one triggered he'd use that as an oppurtunity to do so. For now, silence stopped suggestions. Common sense and experience would likely prevail through this whole ruin.
After all what more could he say that wasn't already explained or covered? They knew of the traps, they knew there was likely another digimon in there. They were prepared as much as they could possibly be in such a short time. Any more hesitation would certainly brood ill for the group as a whole....

As the adventurers entered the ruins, the data swirls a little slightly, ripples of it lifting and falling like a small wave of water. Nothing immediately happens though, so the team is safe for now.
As they make their way through the doors and down the stairway, darkness begins to close in. The air is dry, and the presence of the data makes the temperature a little cooler. Before darkness completely sets in, you notice glowing fungi and rocks present on the wall, filling the passage with a reddish-yellow hue. The glow lights up the entire way.
The stone stairs hold intact, with no traps triggered quite yet. At the bottom of the stairs, you notice the way leads to a long corridor forward. There are different paths forking off toward the sides. The corridor itself is approximately 300 feet long, ending with a closed stone door.
The black data is a little bit thicker down here, reaching knee height. However, no ill effects will happen to you just yet. However, it does make it a little difficult for you to see where you are stepping.

The mission was getting more tolerable for Tsukaimon now that the holy digimon was holy digimon was gong along with the human and his partners. Sure the rest was also humans but at least they looked like they knew what they were doing so for the time being Tsukaimon sat his prejudice aside. As he entered the ruins he came into a long corridor the ground below was infested with thick black goo obviously the result of whatever corruption they were going to handle. Today was a great day to be able to fly since it meant the black data could not reach Tsukaimon for the time being. Habitually, Tsukaimon looked down to see if there were any traps that would have trigger had he not been able to fly, though it didn't affect him, he knew that he couldn't fight everyone alone as a rookie. Tsukaimon could not afford to lose more party members, humans or not.

As the darkness began to cling to them, Mana couldn't but shiver a bit; this wasn't going to stop her on the slightest, but it still felt slightly unsettling. "This place is surely kind of creepy." Before the redhead could reflect more on her current situation, however, some strange fungus-things began to glow. "But awesome, in a way!"
Good stuff, now they wouldn't need light to navigate this place. Soon enough, the stairs would change into a corridor. A rather long corridor. Mana would tread through it, at least until the first forking path. There, she'd stop and consult with her companions in this small endeavor. "So, guys. What do we do? Do we split to search this place better or do we just go to each place together? Either we finish this more quickly or we have the strength of numbers in our favor. What do you think? I'm fine with anything, personally."
The darkness was now a little over their knees, but given that nothing happened, for now, the trio had decided to ignore. "I think we should finish this as quickly as possible, just so we can stop wasting time and we can get our reward, but that's me." Of course that Suzuran would say that, but Mana had already made her mind. What would the others say?

Dark eyes swept over the ruins, curiosity matted his scaled features as he took in what there was to see. The dark swirling data certainly had the spirit user's attention up until it seemed to do nothing when they touched it. He'd frown and look about; hand clenching on his scythe tightly. What was he really supposed to do at this junction? The Tsukaimon seemed to be looking for traps; while Mana seemed to be more focused on where they should be going and the general make out of how they should go about this, her partner was more concerned with payment. Past the trivial chatter; there were a few questions that certainly needed to be answered.
"Staying in a group would be wise; we know there are traps and opposition of some form. We know not how corruption of the data here will effect either of them.'
He'd gingerly prod at the swirling data at their feet and knees, looking slightly irritated by it's presence.
"We also do not know how long it'll take for the corruption to affect us, or how it will affect us. Is this dark swirling mist a part of the corruption or was this always here? Too many questions we don't know the answer to; so therefore caution must be our approach."
He'd gesture now to the three paths.
"For now let us pick a path, and if this ruin allows we come back to this fork we can traverse them. We were never given a time frame of completion so why go quickly when we can be smart about this?"

As you approach the 3-way fork, the smoke-like data below you ripples once again, then the sounds of three stone doors open. Two at the forking paths left and right, and the third being the stone door at the end of the corridor.
At once, the clink of stone-on-stone begins to sound - lightly from the side and heavier ahead. Three digimon thus make their appearance. Two Gotsumons, approaching from the side-chambers, and a larger Gotsumon from ahead.
You notice that they are not like the ordinary stone digimon, but all three are made of a black glass - Obsidian to be precise. Their eyes are also glowing red, and they shamble along without speaking a word. It's as though they are animated somehow, possibly from the black data?
They begin to approach - the smaller Gotsumon first, then the larger Gotsumon. Their intentions are clearly not friendly.
Gotsumon - 3x appear.

A long way ahead the corridor was straightforward, just fly from point A to point B. On the way he saw that the redheaded girl said that the corridor was scary. "It figures" Tsukaimon mumbled before laughing at his own joke. Then they came to a forking path and it was time to make a decision. Mana was fine with anything before whining suggesting that they hurry up with whatever decision they want to make.
It seems like the other human knew some sort of strategy, Tsukaimon listened closely at the notion that they should stick together. As much as the idea sickened Tsukaimon, it made sense. "You're quite smart, for a human." Tsukaimon remarked, this is likely the closest Uric Kan can get to a compliment from Tsukaimon.
Then there was some obviously corrupted Gotsumon right in front of them al, which Tsukamon noted. "I suggest we postpone that discussion until those Gotsumon are dead." Despite the gesture, Tsukaimon himself stayed in place for the time being.

The situation seemed to be pretty much straightforward. Somebody had decided that we should stay together; another had decided to talk later. The solution was pretty clear. They had to deal with these strange, obsidian Gotsumon first, then go on, probably in a group; if this was their first enemy, neither member of the trio wanted to imagine what the others they'd find down the line.
So, making sure that she wouldn't get caught in the crossfire, Mana stepped back. This was a job for her partners and the other two members of this peculiar entourage, not for her. "You know what to do, girls." While the redhead wasn't in favor of violence usually, this was a rare exception when it seemed like the only way to get through these three.
Suzuran was already smirking at her opponents. "Consider it done." As both Aya and she began to set up the battlefield. There were very high chances of these being hostile, but in case they weren't this wouldn't hurt them. Aya's attack was directed straight towards the bigger Gotsumon, while Suzuran just sent her own ahead, in the path the digimons would eventually thread. Well, unless they knew how to walk on walls or something. Ayaka's using Rootgrapple on the bigger Gotsumon
Rootgrapple Ayaka thrusts the ground with her arms, generating two thorny vines that travel by earth (they travel at a 50m/post speed, approximately) until they reach their target, emerging and gripping it. The affected enemy is bound until he breaks out the vines by using one rookie-level attack or by doing a great deal of physical effort, spending a post worth of movement and exhausting themselves until the end of their next post. 1-post cooldown.
Suzuran uses Flytrap on the gap between the group and the Gotsumons.
Flytrap Suzuran throws some seeds on a small area. Anyone coming into contact with them is instantly snared for one post. 1-post cooldown.
