Cion was not truly satisfied by the idea that Ceresmon refused to defend itself, and likely the lives of many other beings one way or another, due to the corrupted fiends of data and metal having taken hostages. Essentially, it was surrender, but there was nothing the vulpine digimon could do about that. Sacrifice was difficult, she knew that, but this was war, even if it was on a small scale. They had to fight or submit, no only for themselves but for the sake of others. It was admirable to try to save everyone, but left with no choice actions had to be taken. But all of that was too late now... it was upon them. "Very well."
Listening to Sol's suggestion, even though they had no evidence for it, made sense to the ascended CyberSagitamon. Something about everything that had occurred had always felt off to her, and an attempt to capture Ceresmon might be the solution. "It won't matter though. We'll end their felony." She commented with a firm, almost grave yet all the more determined tone to her voice. Cion did not care who these fiends thought they were, justice would be brought to them, either by law or blade.
Now, they only had to decide which course of action to pursue. Would they attempt to assault their base which was likely Blimpmon, or would they take out ground forces in typical guerilla fashion? After a few moments of contemplation, Mitsuko suggested to cut their adversaries' throat, bringing chaos upon them from which they could vanquish them in whatever way they saw fit. "Effective, but we need to find a way to reach Blimpmon first." She put forth, otherwise agreeing that destroying communication was a fine next step to pursue.
Unfortunately, they would not attain the chance to do that. Somehow, Dracmon had messed up, and it seemed their enemies were nearby, maybe even able to detect them through the barrier of Witchmon. "So much for that then..." Escaped her covered muzzle, words brimming with displeasure. But... oh well, what had to be done simply had to be done. Drawing her futuristic, svelte anti-material rifle, she calmly followed the impish digimon out of the hiding place. If it was a fight the villains wanted, then the moral, sophisticated mercenary from P.R.O.F.I.T. was more than happy to grant them the judgment they so desperately longed for.
And as they stepped outside, the cyborg digimon let out a mostly apathetic "Huh." So, they were here, Renamon and Devidramon. But that was far from all, slight surprise overcoming her when most of terrain around them vanished into thin air. She had seen powers like this before, so it was not that much of a shock to her. What delighted her however, was the presence of someone that most certainly was the, or at least one, of the leaders of the metal menace. An adult, blond human, protected by two Knightmons. "Heh... at least not a xenophobic digimon overlord for once..." She joked, a faint chuckle escaping her lips.
Perfectly calm and composed, she leaned the barrel of her rifle against the ground, partially resting on it. Snapping her right hand's wrist, a brief blue flash would appear in it before the entire area around them would be affected by a similar power as the one that had torn it apart quietly. Similar to a grid of blue data, it rapidly stretched out in a circle as uncountable, almost invisible, tiny data constructs glowing in the same color moved about inside like agitated bees. Soon, the huntress and her allies would feel weightless armor protecting them in the shape of a blue aura, and enemies inside would feel... not well at all.
"What, you plan on gassing us? Or are those combat-enhancing chemicals?" She more or less thought out loud as she saw the masks and tanks strapped onto everyone. A bit of her hidden smile faded when she felt the effects of the removed forest upon her, air thin and temperatures low likely lethal to the humans present. Perhaps their tanks were only oxygen tanks? It did not matter, she would strip them away from them. After all, she had a power armor of her own to protect her from hazardous conditions. If anything, her binary code waving violently with the wind only enhanced her graceful appearance.
What she was slightly confused about were the sapphire leaves soaring skyward, although maybe it implied that the tree of life, as unoriginal as the name was, or Ceresmon itself got damaged. What was clear as day however was the reinforced Blimpmon above them, clearly aiming at them. "Daedalus would put you to shame, darling." The armored digimon commented, amused by the edgy colors of black and red most of their opponents were dressing themselves in. Now it was only too bad that the trio d'esaster was not here to take it out. Although... it was not like she did not have an 'ace' up her sleeves.
Her head shifting to the human, she let out irritated sigh, certain that compromise was out of the question. "Do we skip the formalities?" She asked, confidence no wavered due to the sight of the enemy forces. This was just business, nothing else. Besides, it was by far not the worst situation she had found herself in in her many lives and centuries of existence. And had she ever perished and reconfigured due to a fight, and no just old age? Well, this was an answer the Xrosers could find out for themselves if they desired.

Alicia mulled the notes of Ceresmon’s aggressive ability over, sighing softly. “It makes sense. If they’ve taken enough of the inhabitants captive, defending itself would result in too great a cost...” the metal dragon shook her head and shelved the issue for the time being.
At the same time, though, Sol leveled a very pointed and very angry glare Cion’s way, but said nothing on the matter. It also went unnoticed by Alicia, though Kisara looked concerned. The only reason he would fix such a gaze upon someone would be... The ice maiden grimaced and closed her eyes, shocked that one person could change so much all of a sudden.
”It certainly has a hole or two in it, but it is the most concrete theory we have.” The dragon spirit admitted ”And I hear no competing theo- Oh dear...” Right after the imp noticed the return of their foes, the dragon seemed to also realize what was up.
”Please don’t be what I think it is...” Kisara groaned out as Alicia followed Cion and the Dracmon out of the invisibility barrier. Seeing the assembled group before them, the ice maiden groaned again. ”Xros General. Of course it’s exactly what I didn’t want it to be.”
That was followed shortly by the nearby area basically being leveled so as to create a clear, open warzone. “Hell...” Alicia cursed as the wind started to whip harshly through the area. She tested her wings, and growled in irritation. That move unintentionally grounded her unless she decided to change forms again, as the air became far too thin for her to beat her wings upon with enough strength to lift her heavy figure. “This just got much more frustrating...”
”It could just as easily be oxygen tanks to help combat the thin air from the Final Destination card...” Sol guessed. ”I doubt it’s that simple though, for the Digimon at least. Even if Troopmon are fairly straight forward.”
“How do you know those tanks and masks are from Xros’d Troopmon?” Alicia asked, keeping her gaze on their enemies.
”Most logical guess. Divermon and Depthmon are out of place this far up, and no other digimon with that set up comes to mind off the top of my head.”
”Whatever this winds up being, if a fight breaks out this is the finale. They’re putting every card on the table right now. With the field cleared they’ve even brought the Blimpmon down...” Kisara grumbled out, upset with the mess this had become. They were heavily outnumbered, though she was willing to be the Knightmon were the General’s personal guard. They would only join the fight if one of them threatened the human directly in that case.
“What’s the point in all this!?” Alicia howled over the wind, addressing the Xros General. “What is so important to you that you’d turn this great bird’s back into a war zone, among other things?” Pointless it might have been, and Cion had jumped the gun a bit with her Nanomachine Realm. Still, she wanted to at least hear his reasons, if he was so inclined to answer. Granted, it would take something truly earth shattering to convince her that he was at all in the right doing all this.
”... It is so sad when someone who would abuse the power and gift of the Digivice receives one... or perhaps forcibly took it.” Sol muttered under his breath, far too low to be heard over the wind.

Post by Mitsuko Kaioh on Dec 8, 2017 4:39:27 GMT
Mitsuko listened in silence as the Witchmon, Dracmon, Cion, Alicia and company speak. Her eyes were closed. Something kept nagging at the back of her mind. There were too many unknown factors in this situation! Her unease radiated off of her body as her partner draped a hand upon her slender shoulder. It calmed her, but only a bit. There was still something wrong, she could feel it in her soul. Only when Dracmon commented about appearing out of thin air, she opened her eyes to see her group exit the barrier, deciding that they should follow suit.
Mitsuko's eyes narrowed scanning the immediate area only to spot their former adversaries with a blonde male, and two more digimon. Not only that, but the Blimpmon too! Glints of silver caught her eye, but she was too focused on the group at the moment.
"Well, there goes that plan." MagnaAngemon said softly as he strode ahead of his partner, his wings fanning out to shield Mitsuko. She only nodded in response. If they had only followed through with their instincts earlier, this could have wound up so differently. Mitsuko noticed the digivice in his hand.
"Who are you, and why are you doing this?" The silverette called out before she saw him use a motion that she recognized. Digi-Modify. Suddenly a brisk wind billowed around them, Mitsuko felt her hair blowing around rapidly. Her eyes widened as she realized what card this guy had used. It was one that every Digi-destined obtained when they recieved their modify ability. Final Destination. Everything was gone! Trees, flowers, ferns, even the grass. All gone!
It was a strange sensation that then decided to take over her body. As if she had been plunged into an icy lake. The breath in her lungs burned, as if someone had turned the air to flame. Her breath was rapid, yet ragged, it felt like she had just finished running a marathon. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get enough air. Mitsuko's hand clawed at her throat as she began to cough. This was when MagnaAngemon then turned to look over his shoulder. Mitsuko had fallen to her knees, her nails tearing at the neck of her shirt. "Mitsuko!"
She couldn't respond, it was as if she was drowning. Her head was pounding, her vision began to blur. That is when the words of the Red Witchmon began creeping back to Mitsuko."Ceresmon's back is a thick forest. It'll have a breeze but the canopy will keep the area heated and the air dense enough." The silver... it was oxygen tanks. She should have recognized them, with as much time as she spent at the hospital volunteering! Before she knew what was happening, MagnaAngemon had already scooped her up, and began running back towards the barrier. Mitsuko tried to protest, tried to tell him that they needed to stay. To fight. But her vision blacked out for a moment, that was when she felt a small shift. With all of her will, she opened her eyes against the darkness, to see Angemon become MagnaAngemon once again. If she lost focus, he lost power. She had to stay alert. Once across the barrier MagnaAngemon put Mitsuko down near the Witchmon.
"Keep her safe. There's a Xros General out there, he cleared the area." MagnaAngemon brushed the back of his hand across Mitsuko's cheek tenderly. "She can't fight out there, if she can't breathe." Before crossing through the barrier to join the coming battle, he cast one more glance over his shoulder. "Upon my honor, we'll fight until the end; to protect you and the tree. Promise me, you'll do whatever you can to protect her too." MagnaAngemon hesitated for a moment, before bursting back through the barrier. Another blast of wind swept the area, and Mitsuko shuddered.
But was it because of the cold? Or was it because now there was a battle, and she couldn't assist her team. For the first time, she was flying blind here. She had never felt more... useless. A small mix of fear and anxiety boiled within her stomach.

With the appearance of the Xros General, there was definitely a lot to take in at once. Thankfully, this tamer didn't decide to simply run in the moment the card was activated, giving the group at least a few moments to assess the situation and ready themselves. As the wind started to howl, the Dracmon braced himself the best he could against the inhospitable nature of the atmosphere. Stretching out one arm, narrowing his eyes, he provided what little information he could. In response to Sol's comments regarding potential Troopmon, the imp shook his head.
"The data structure of the tanks isn't complicated enough to belong to a Digimon. As far as I can tell, the Renamon's Xros'd with a BladeKuwagamon and another machine, and the other one, a Kokuwamon and... something undead..." With those words spoken, the Dracmon forced his hand against his mouth and nose, and simply nodded to the spirit. He was forced to fall back, retreating behind the barrier before the symptoms of the altitude would set in.
That wasn't all the damage the wind could do, either. As the three parties were left alone in the clearing, Cion would attempt her 'Nanomachine Realm', the presence of nanobots only detectable by their soft, blue glow. For a few moments, they would settle in as intended, before being caught up in the current. Even quicker than they appeared, the blue streak of light would extend out into the sky, the color fading as they scattered out above the Ceresmon. "Good riddance," the Renamon muttered, under the howl of the wind.
What first earned a comment, however, was not Alicia's or Mitsuko's own questions: just as Mitsuko would start to feel low on breath, Cion gave a remark in regards to the Blimpmon. At once, the Knightmon on the tamer's right stomped forward, pointing aggressively towards the feline! "How dare you insult her vessel! I'll see to it that-... that..."
The Knightmon stammered, the general glaring at him from the corner of his eyes. He even earned a dirty look from both of the Xros'd Digimon and the other Knightmon, the Devidramon growling. "Idiot."
"Forgive me, sir Denryu, I-"
"What's done is done." The General's tone was surprisingly calm: with just a small signal from his hand, the Renamon pulled back, briefly standing right in front of him. With the rapier held defensively, her other hand briefly flicked backwards, tapping the back of her tamer's hand. A bluish mark glowed, fading into his skin. As the spirit wielder's question finally hit his ears, Denryu glanced towards the dragon. "A benefactor in the Empyrean Skies requested it - said it was a crime such a perfect medicine was out of reach." Those words probably wouldn't satisfy, but with Mitsuko gasping for breath, what would? The talkative Knightmon held back as the opposite one stepped forward, the Xros Loader pulsing with light.
"Xros!"
One word was all it took: the Knightmon's form pulsed white, melding right over the Renamon's form. With a quick snap, the Renamon gained both metal boots and wrist-guards, as well as a strong, gilded buckler over her left arm. Her blade lost the shape of a rapier, instead taking on the form of a serrated cutlass.
Even with the Magnaangemon and his tamer retreating - or, perhaps because of it - the two Digimon showed no reprieve! The Devidramon kicked off with the wind to his back: unable to use its own wings like this, the metallic demon stomped forth on all fours, tearing right for the Metalumindramon! Already having shown herself able to reflect attacks from a distance, he instead opted for a full-on assault as he set his sights on the gem-filled dragon! Should Alicia set her gaze right on that helmet, she would be met with a ghastly blue light - a moment later, and she'd see nothing but a bluish static for several seconds afterwards, as the demon aimed to rake the left side of her body with those claws!
Cion wasn't ignored, either, but in this case the attention was tactful. The Renamon produced a seed pod, as she had done in her prior form, and flung it forth. Instead of aiming for the air, though, the projectile was thrown headwind of Cion. A moment later, it would erupt in a storm of sharpened leaves, sending its sharp payload right towards the cat.
But why was the Renamon so indirect? Actually, the Renamon kept in-step with the Devidramon: she would try and make her way forward as well, putting the Devidramon between herself and the feline's line of sight. It seemed she had no interest in combating anyone directly, instead trying to make a break for the barrier!
Inside the barrier, MagnaAngemon and Mitsuko would find the air much more livable, though that didn't mean things were perfect here. For one, the barrier provided no protection from the temperature, and the wind, though dampened, still heavily carried through the Tree of Life. Above, MagnaAngemon would hear the leaves rustle, the occasional few leaves splitting off past the barrier.
Likely, though, that was far from his main thought. The Blue Witchmon, still meditating and carrying out her channeled spell, briefly opened her eyes as the tamer was placed beside her. She gave a small 'tch', otherwise nodding as the angel gave his direction. "Alright, I'll keep her safe here. Do everything you can."
And with the angel gone, the Witchmon gave a sigh out. Mitsuko's frustration melded poorly with her condition - like this, she might just push herself right over the edge! Carefully, the sorceress rested a hand atop Mitsuko's, curling her fingers around the tamer's.
"Relax, and catch your breath." The Witchmon's voice seemed warm, a kind tint to it for the first time. "They still need you. But push yourself before you can brace for it, and you won't be any help at all."
Shortly, the other one who fell back would make himself known: reclining a few yards from the Witchmon, Dracmon gave a nod to the tamer. "And when that card runs out, I need to get out there, too. Too many tricks that those guys are trying to pull..."
Battle Log: 1) Nanomachine Zone has been nullified! 2) The Blimpmon holds pattern. 3) Renamon (Xros) used ? ? ? on Denryu. 4) Knightmon has Xros'd with Renamon. Proficiency increased to mega. 5) Devidramon (Xros) has used "Ghastly Eyes" - Upon use, if eye contact is made with the target, the target is blinded in the next post. 6) Renamon used 'Diamond Rain' in an attempt to attack Cion indirectly. 7) Renamon's current position is using Devidramon as a 'screen' to prevent Cion from getting a direct sight-line. 8) Knightmon is defending Denryu. 9) Final Destination is in effect. Cion had only made brief notice of Sol's angry glare, and did not really know to make of it since it lacked any words or impetus behind it. It was probably something she had said, though considering in what predicament they were she did not spend more than a few seconds contemplating it. After all, their dangerous enemy had shown itself and was clearly ready to engage them in combat, so she had to muster every bit of focus and power of will to vanquish them. They were many things, most of them could be perceived as insulting, but they were definitely wickedly ambitious.
But that was how Xros Generals generally were - high-flying, even if she had only encountered a couple throughout her lives. Alicia and her spirits attempted to fully reason with the male human and its minions, while the MagnaAngemon made sure that the breathless Mitsuko was safely protected by the barrier that shielded the tree that bore the legendary fruit. Thankfully, the angelic digimon did not leave for long, willing to stand by their side and prepared to fight until they drew their last breaths. However... that was far from what the ascended CyberSagitamon had in mind as the ending of this little endeavor.
"Cute." She spoke with an amused tone to her voice, seeing her nanomachines being removed by plot-convenience. Oh well, she still got plenty of aces up her sleeves, and this was far from the worst situation she had ever found herself him. A small chuckle escaped her lips as the fully armored, vulpine soldier turned her head to face the Renamon. Neither her body movement nor her covered facial expression showed any sign of dread, and she gladly let them know that. A mercenary and valiant sentinel - though good times and bad times - that was what she was.
The way the Knightmons acted towards her delighted her immensely. To her, it meant they could be distracted and brought to desperation easily. Those who let emotions control their mind were among the first to fall in combat - at least that had been her experience. Hubris, murderous frenzy, disarray... all of those were such fine foibles to be utilized. Unfortunately, it was clear as day that the human called Denryu had everyone under his heels, meaning he was the primal target. Without a leader to bring them structure and give them 'purpose', they would likely fall apart in moments.
Then again, he was just another hired thug among so many. "The zealots? Of course..." Cion commented amusedly, those supposedly holy bigots never failing to not surprise her. Ultimately, it did not matter who it was that had demanded this crime, as she was here to stop it for good. And it was in this moment that she finally got a better understanding of the situation at hand. Seeing the Knightmon fuse with Renamon - they had finally learned the source of the metal-clad corruption. At least it lessened the numbers in their ranks.
As the silver digimon had expected, they were skipping formalities and immediately decided to fight. Metalumindramon would most probably keep the Devidramon busy once more, and what her angelic partner had in mind she did not know yet, although keeping the Renamon busy defensively was certainly a good option. Speaking of which, it seemed they still had a score to settle, which was fine by her. "Insufficient!" She shouted as the sharp leaves which soared towards her. "Data Recreation!" She bellowed in return, will enough to enwrap herself and all of her allies in a stream of data. But instead of healing everyone, as all of them were in excellent health, they were granted a personal barrier of equal strength that would last for a couple of seconds.
Empowered or not, the Renamon's attack was still a basic one, hence her shield had mostly no problem absorbing the force of almost every single leaf. Even if her barrier was not strong enough to powerful to block the attack entirely, her armor would do just fine keeping her in good shape. Yielding to her adversaries was not an option either way, which was why she firmly held her ground, ready to face whoever attempted to walk through her.
"Engage hostiles!" She commanded, having given everyone plenty of advantages for the time being. Aiming her futuristic anti-material rifle, she shot with the speed of a desperado and the aim of Green Arrow at everyone in sight. Blue bolts of matterless energy soared through the air with laser-speed. One for Devidramon, one for the Knightmon, and one for the vile human - though not Renamon, since her demonic opponent blocked the view. Upon being struck, the beams would lodge inside their bodies and immediately solidify to constantly shock them, dealing small damage and affecting their muscles slightly, reducing their speed and mobility.
All of this... was much less planned than she liked. Usually, it was her that had the upper hand, but this ambush required strong adaptability. But together with her support and crowd control, MagnaAngemon's holy abilities, and Alice's pure steadfastness... and a little extra in case things turned out bad for them... they should've been powerful enough to attain victory in the end.

”Was worth considering at least.” Sol mused softly with a shrug. Honestly, he’d theorized that as a worst case scenario. It was probably for the best that what the Dracmon said was so. It at least gave them an idea of what could be expected from the Xros’d Digimon, at least in general overview. A pity the little Rookie couldn’t seem to bear the suddenly harsh conditions, but he certainly wouldn’t fault him for it. Few beings can thrive this...
“Out of reach!?” Alicia screeched back “Wh-” She stopped her frustrated comeback when she heard Mitsuko coughing, eyes widening. Glancing over, she saw the silverette collapse, looking as if she were being choked by an invisible hand. “MISTUKO!”
Fortunately, her guardian angel was already on the case, scooping the ill-equipped young girl and returning her to the relative safety of the blue Witchmon’s barrier which appeared to be unaffected. There was a frightening flicker in which MagnaAngemon had dropped to simply being Angemon again for a moment, before his power returned to him once more. But it made the only course she would take clear. There was one thing that could set her off without fail, and that was threatening the lives of her family and friends.
”You made the worst choice of your life, good sir.” Kisara commented to Denryu. ”If you’re not careful, it just might be the last choice you ever make...” She hadn’t been there for Alicia’s first bout of murderous rage, but Sol had made sure to keep her updated so she was well aware of Alicia’s trigger. This Xros General and his army would soon know the fury of a dragon.
Alicia herself didn’t care anymore that the Renamon had been Xros’d with a Knightmon and became even stronger. She didn’t care anymore about this “Denryu’s” reasoning or purpose. She didn’t even care if she was in the right or not anymore. Metaphorically, her vision was stained red with wrath. But of course it wouldn’t be as easy as charging at the Xros General and making him pay for turning the area into such a hostile condition for Mitsuko. The Devidramon was barreling her way.
“Out of the way.” Such a soft declaration, but filled with conviction as she began to meet the Devidramon’s charge, seeming to reach across the distance with a hateful chill. Enough was enough, this cruelty would end now. Building up metaphorical steam, the steel dragon picked up speed until her feet thundered across the earth. A pity for him that she was only regarding him in her peripheral vision and thus couldn’t trigger his Ghastly Eyes attack’s effects. The majority of her attention was solely on Denryu.
Devidramon was not even an enemy to her now. Just an obstacle that needed to be broken, swiftly and brutally. Finally, the dragon loosed the full extent of her rage, a murderous howl tearing it’s way from her throat as the gem upon her head glowed, forming a horn of energy. She saw how he was moving and bided her time as they closed the distance. He shifted to his right, aiming to strike her left. She wheeled on him and stamped his clawed hand down a split second later.
“Rainbow Burst” the Metalumindramon growled out as she thrust the horn upon her head at Devidramon’s neck, aiming to kill the Xros’d dragon in a single strike.
”It’s frightening how similar we can be...”
”Almost like...”
The spirits mused amongst themselves, knowing Alicia wouldn’t really hear them right now, their voices low and clearly meant to be between the two of them alone.
Battle Log
Alicia meets the Devidramon’s charge, avoiding the Ghastly Eyes out of ignited rage towards Denryu for the side effects of Final Destination is such a hostile space on humans.
Alicia intercepts the swipe with rage honed reaction time and strikes back with Rainbow Burst.

Mitsuko shivered as her partner disappeared into the veil once again. The bitter cold wind ripped through the area, and Mitsuko felt herself shudder against the Witchmon. The digimon's hand squeezing hers, made her realize that she wasn't in this alone. There was a bigger picture at stake. "Yeah..." she finally conceded. "You're right... I'm no use burnt out." The silverette opened her bag, there had to be something in there to help with the cold. Finally she had found what she was looking for, an old sweater. It was slightly thin in places, but better than nothing. Mitsuko gently pulled it over her head, as she was still slightly dizzy from her previous encounter. She wished she had something to use with her matches, but not so close to their protected target. Warmth would hopefully come soon, Mitsuko closed her eyes. She could feel the vibration of the digivice, as she held it close to her heart. She had to have faith in them, as they did in her. Once she was well enough for battle... there would be consequences for the actions that they had wrought.
Back on the battlefield MagnaAngemon was ready with the others. It seemed as if the Renamon fused with the knightmon, and the Devidramon wished to focus on Alicia. Yeah, messing with Mitsuko would piss off Alicia, but it was nothing to the holy rage boiling within MagnaAngemon. However, the battle progressed on without him. He needed to be ready, to fight when necessary. His wings unfurled as his body began to glow with a soft golden light. His eyes (well... if he had them anyway) were focused upon Denryu.
"Heaven's Grace!" His voice called out, as he took a defensive stance. Yes, the battle raged on without him. But that didn't mean he couldn't be prepared for something, should it happen.
*** Battle Log ***
1. MagnaAngemon uses Heaven's Grace. MagnaAngemon's Attack Power increases by 25%. Duration 1/3.

Almost at once, the battle was afoot. Even among their ally's hacking fit, Cion squarely composed herself, giving both herself and all allies in the area quite a useful barrier to work with. The leaves from the Renamon's 'Diamond Rain' quickly pelted down on the CyberSagitamon's own shield like a storm of hail, shredding away the barrier and even scratching the armor underneath. It was only enough to offer a glancing blow, but it proved that this particular Renamon was not one to be taken lightly.
As for the blasts from her rifle, the talkative Knightmon was quickly on-guard! Denryu did not move an inch from his position, as the Knightmon raised its shield: "Justice Shield!" Both the shots that were aimed at the Digimon and the Tamer would find themselves shattered, the knight's shield glowing blue in response. The Devidramon's own response was slightly different, instead moving his upper-left arm in the direction of the blast. The demon's shoulder convulsed briefly, but a taut tensing of the arm itself seemed to mitigate the overall effect.
Overall, the Xros Team's overall strategy seemed to pay off: with Devidramon's and Metalumindramon's fight acting as a screen between Cion and the Renamon, the fox Digimon easily broke past, darting her way towards the concealed tree - just as MagnaAngemon came into view! At the oncoming confrontation, the Renamon grit her fangs, the cutlass in her right arm pulsing bright with electricity. "Out of the way!" An intent slash was given in the angel's direction, a powerful arc of blue, electrical energy extending outwards! As it was aimed, the arc would soar right to the angel's center, striking diagonally across the center - but if he was within two feet of the blast, the energy would arc and discharge in his direction, in an electrical blast. Whether it worked or not, the fox would simply try and blitz past, trying to slip around the angel's right side!
Their confrontation was not the emotional center of the battle right now. As Alicia struggled with Mitsuko's current condition, and as the Devidramon and the Metalumindramon squared at the center of the battlefield, Kisara gave what Denryu considered to be a rather interesting remark. Despite Mitsuko's struggle before the tamer's eyes, the Xros General only managed to give a sigh, shaking his head. "That severe a reaction from the white-haired tamer was not my intent, but..." He flicked a card between his fingers: "If you think someone that out of it is a threat to Devidramon?"
Once more, a card slashed through the Xros-Loader, and this time, the Devidramon's body gave a pulse. The metallic demon had clearly not taken heed of Alicia's order, already having gone in to attempt such a close-range assault. Instead of standing guard, however, Alicia tore right towards the Devidramon's approach, and even managed to avoid the blind and slap down the offending claw.
A single tone buzzed through the Devidramon's helmet, even as the horn readied itself: "Follow through."
With a glint beneath its visor, the Devidramon raised its opposite claw, red lightning sparking in its claws, as it aimed to slam its palm right against the side of Alicia's head! At a glance, the attack looked short, as if there was no way that it would ever reach the dragon's head in time, to divert the blast. And that would have been true...
... had it just been the Devidramon! But, against all logic, the demon suddenly doubled in size: the horn that was level to its neck was suddenly staring at the thickest armor in his chest, and that sparking claw, which seemed aimed low and too far out of the way, was suddenly sparking mere inches away from Alicia's temple. Even if the blow was simultaneous, Alicia was not going to like the damage of this blast!
Inside the barrier, the Witchmon gave a nod. At the very least, neither Mitsuko nor the Dracmon were going to run out before they were ready, even if the tamer was going to continue to provide light to the angel. Her warm words were short lived, however: as Mitsuko darted into her back, the Blue Witchmon returned to her meditative stance, continuing to mutter incantations for the spell.
The Dracmon's attention turned to the battlefield: at the very least, something loud seemed to resonate through the barrier! With a 'tch', the imp moved closer to Mitsuko: Rookie or not, he at least had a few tricks he could use to help defend, one way or another.
Battle Log: 1) Final Destination is in effect. (2/3) 2) Renamon's (Xros) ? ? ? is in effect. 3) The Blimpmon holds pattern. 4) Knightmon defends with 'Justice Shield'. The two Particle Beams aimed for Denryu and Knightmon are absorbed into the sield. 5) Renamon used 'Raider's Slash', an upgraded version of Raiton Arc. A blade of electrical energy is fired, which can cause direct cutting damage. Any target within two feet of the arc will feel the energy discharge into them - amplified damage on metallic or armored targets. 6) Renamon is attempting to bypass MagnaAngemon and enter the barrier. 7) Devidramon used 'Raider's Claw', an empowered claw attack in which the palm is filled with crimson electricity. On impact, electrical energy is discharged into the target. 8) Denryu has activated 'Particle Accelerator'. Devidramon's size is doubled. (1/3).

Well... things were certainly not going as smoothly as she had hoped for. To her dismay, the Renamon had gained enough power to rival her own, Cion's barrier being destroyed by the storm of razor-sharp leaves which also managed to scrape her advanced armor. Not only that, but somehow they were able to negate her particle beams, either by actively or passively deflecting them. This was naturally unedifying - but it proved to be an advantage to be exploited as well. Even if she was incapable of unleashing her most hazardous attack within a short spam of time, her enemies still had to consciously resist her assault lest they be impeded. And on the battlefield, seconds often decided victory or defeat.
Taking in a minute to grasp the struggle they fought, her gaze often shifted to analyze her surroundings and adapt properly. Unfortunately, there were two predicaments at hand, and she was only able to deal with one of them at a time. Whatever the human had done to increase the Metal-Devidramon's size likely also boosted its strength. The CyberSagitamon did not know how powerful Alicia and her spirits truly were, yet losing the full potential of a brawler like her in their current dilemma was without a doubt disastrous.
On the other hand, what use were all the assets in the digital world if their aim to protect the wondrous tree and its fruit was rendered a failure regardless? The empowered Renamon was clearly not interested in her anymore, instead focusing MagnaAngemon who stood as a last vigil between their adversaries and their destination. If this angelic digimon yielded to the vulpine one, then everything they had accomplished thus far had been in vain. It was most hapless then that he was being of the Ultra-level facing one with the power to vanquish the defenses of a Mega.
Loathing that Mitsuko's partner had not ascended yet, she groaned loudly and decided that she had to forfeit Metalumindramon for the time being. Hopefully it would not take long before she could assist her again, but if she was even worth defending then she had to bear up against the demonic entity for a couple of moments. Once the deceitful fox had been dealt with, the silver digimon would make sure to support the mercurial fighter to the best of her abilities.
Nevertheless she could not simply waste all of her energy on shielding MagnaAngemon either who had already once not utilized the protection she had granted everyone to make an advance. Furthermore, there was still the matter of a living, airborne fortress with enough firepower to likely level an entire city for which she had to preserve her most beneficial powers to defend herself and her allies. Thus the angelic warden had to guard itself somehow... so Cion could hinder Renamon's relentless onslaught.
Not saying a word, the cybernetic marksman snapped one of her fingers. After its attack and only for the blink of an eye, a white flash appeared in front of the invader's feet before suddenly erupting in a massive, translucent singularity conjured to capture her. The vortex it emitted was stronger than the outside winds, reaching as far as the hostile human and his guardian. Forces tore at the more distant enemies' legs, inclining them to lose their balance and become another victim of her trap. Disruption and back-up, those were here main strengths.
Cion, her fellow campaigners and those they protected were not affected by her ability at all, and the sacred tree likely stood strong and tall nonetheless. Taking in a deep breath, the small jet engines inside her studded boots activated themselves as she made a hasty dash towards the former location of MagnaAngemon. Her rifle remained drawn, beams of pure energy fired with pinpoint accuracy at every opponent, including the fiend she had hopefully stunned.

Alicia snarled under her armor as the Devidramon’s mass was suddenly magnified, a potentially fatal blow instantly averted without the Xros’d Digimon having to do anything. It frustrated her, really, and now she was right in the path of a powerful blow to her head herself. “Che...”
”B-Back up! Ma-” Apparently the ice maiden was trying to cut in with advice, but she didn’t have time to finish what she was going to say. The Spirit User was already acting.
“Slide, Mercurialdramon...”
The protective armor burst off, as Alicia changed forms in an instant. That gave her enough time to drop her newly liquified form under with claw swipe. It may have rendered her Rainbow Burst now null and void, but it wasn’t going to do much against Devidramon’s heavy chest armor anyways.
Another thing about being amorphous was that you could get anywhere, only specially treated and sealed containers could hope to hold such a being for long. Anywhere including under your opponent’s feet. Flattening herself out, Alicia slipped herself under the Xros’d digimons limbs and twisted hard like a whirlpool. Every limb that was once holding her massive foe up was suddenly swept out from under him and slammed into each other. At the very least it would throw him off balance, more likely he would start to fall. Both possibilities worked for what she was going to do.
It would be dangerous to take this route, yes. Perhaps one would even consider it suicide to sacrifice so much defensive stability against an opponent that was just made more powerful. But Alicia knew how fast Mercurialdramon could be. She would trust her ability to evade enemy attack in this form.
In the event she was unable to evade? She still had the barrier Cion gifted every ally with to lean on for a little bit even in the worst case scenario. She hoped to not have to use that safety net, but such was the nature of the beast. If it came to it, it came to it.
Her choice was made as physical resources were devoted to the task, her body flexing with defined musculature as she rose up by the tripped up demon dragon, grasping him by the elbow with both hands. “HAAA!” With a heavy heave, the dragon of quicksilver pushed her strength for all it was worth, yanking her foe and twisting around with him so she could throw him back, farther away from the Tree of Life Denryu and his companions sought.
“Scalding Metal!”
Immediately upon release, Alicia chased the massive demon with a similarly upsized gout of boiling mercury, aiming to drench the fiend in agonizing heat. She didn’t care what tricks Denryu would pull out. She’d overcome each and every one of them on her rampage.
Battle Log
Alicia slides to Mercurialdramon and uses the amorphous nature of that form to evade Raider’s Claw
Further abusing her malleable form, she trips Devidramon up, going into overdrive on raw power as she then tries to throw him back.
Alicia then launches a Scalding Metal immediately afterward.

Everything seemed to be happening so fast. Although the battle had only just begun, Mitsuko was currently unable to participate. Alicia and Cion had their hands full with their own issues. And now Renamon was charging at MagnaAngemon! And she had the audacity to try and tell him to get out of the way?! He was standing there first! MagnaAngemon brought Excalibur up in a defensive maneuver, as she slashed what appeared to be lightning towards him. He only had seconds to think of what to do. If he moved, the attack would go though the barrier and probably hit Mitsuko. If he redirected the attack, Renamon would probably anticipate it. And his shield probably couldn't deflect it in time. Renamon seemed to want to bypass him and make a break for the tree. MagnaAngemon gritted his teeth, this was a delicate and tricky situation. The strength of the heavens filled his data once again.
"Gate of Destiny!" He called out once again.
This time, he didn't target Renamon's attack. He Positioned the portal between him and the attack, and Renamon. So, if Renamon wanted to run past him. She would probably get sucked in towards the portal, if not into it. Her own attack, would yet again, backfire upon her. This time in a new manner. Hopefully with enough strength to deter her from her goal. If she fell into the portal, well let's just say he had plans on where she would end up. And if all this was in vein, Cion had his base covered, with an attack of her own streaking up towards the vulpine digimon. He brought his shield up, hoping for the best.
A few seconds later Mitsuko heard an explosion, and her own partner was blown back into the barrier, landing with a thud near her feet. "MagnaAngemon!" She slowly crawled towards him, putting his head in her lap. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah. I've... got this." MagnaAngemon said, his armor was singed in a few places, and his shield had a light crack in it. "That rookie... can hit." MagnaAngemon coughed as he tried to sit back up. "She's strong, Suki-Chan. If Cion hadn't protected us all..."
"No, let's not think that way." Tears started to well up in Mitsuko's eyes, she brushed them away, her body shivering from cold and fear. "We... we aren't strong like Cion and Alicia... What if we can't do this... what if I lose..."
"Let's not think that way." MagnaAngemon smiled softly, as he stood up. "Besides, I made this lady here a promise." He nodded towards Witchmon.
"O-okay." Mitsuko hiccuped as she wiped her face dry. "How... can we help?"
"Renamon is strong, and fast." MagnaAngemon informed Mitsuko of the brief battle he had witnessed.
"So, your Ultimate form was a little outmatched... but what about fighting fire with fire? Using your speed!" Mitsuko smiled, as MagnaAngemon nodded. Mitsuko held out her hands and took a deep breath, as a small glow appeared above them.
“Egg that conseals the power of Harmony, reveal your true nature to me. I, Mitsuko, command you under our contract. Release!”
The glow slowly turned into a diamond-like crystal, with the winged musical note symbol of Harmony emblazoned in gold within it.
“MagnaAngemon Digivolve to... Chirinmon!”
Chirinmon nuzzled his face against Mitsuko’s arm. “We’ve got this.” Should the Renamon appear, Chirinmon was ready.
Battle Log:
1. Heaven's Grace increases MagnaAngemon's attack by 50%. Duration 2/3 2. Renamon's attack hits, and destroys Cion's shield. MagnaAngemon also tries to use his shield to help buffer the attack. MagnaAngemon takes moderate damage. 3. MagnaAngemon digivolves to Chirinmon.

"Oh? Not bad."
Perhaps to Alicia's disgust, the Xros General's attention was no longer drawn to the closer battle. His gaze instead kept a close tabs on the Renamon: just mere yards away from the barrier, the fox would give a frustrated gnash of her fangs. Despite her electrical discharge rending through the angel's shield, there was still the Gate of Destiny creaking open a mere few feet in front of her, and a whipping wind building at her feet. She had prepared for one or the other, but both? Using 'kohenkyo' now would slow down her plan by just one step too far.
But fortunately, she wouldn't need to: at once, she felt her frame lighten, as Denryu swiped his final card. It wasn't anything special for the situation - in fact, it would have just been a card he'd used ever since he'd received the D-Arc, Evasion Protocol. The fox, already speedy on her own, bounded right off of her legs, her feet catching the top of the golden rim of the gate. She would then kick off it towards the ground, to put the gate to another dimension between herself and the suction of the Translucent Singularity.
She could have gotten here with a blink, but like this, well... that was a matter of what would happen inside the barrier.
The Devidramon's claw hit open air, as the second beam from Cion's 'Particle Beam Storm' lodged itself fully into the demon's leg. (The two beams focused on Denryu and the Knightmon once more sunk into the shield, though this time they were not absorbed into the barrier, merely shattering on impact). To the Devidramon's dismay, the effect of the mega's energy spikes were starting to take their toll, the Xros'd ultimate finding it hard to even attempt to grasp at this amorphous opponent.
That didn't mean that the demon was inept, though! With the whirling metal underneath and his feet swept underneath, the metallic demon fell forward, catching himself on a knee and a claw. A loud, guttural growl escaped its throat, deciding enough was enough. With the demon standing on all fours, it would be practically impossible to wrench his center of gravity away from him. And thus, Devidramon did what felt logical:
He reached out and struck with a claw, attempting to sink it right where the metal felt thickest. Whether he hit or not, and whether or not the scalding metal came and scorched his helmet, he would imbue that claw with a tense flow of red electricity.
"Gah!"
That didn't seem good - practically as soon as the MagnaAngemon set out, he was blown right back inside the barrier! The Witchmon's attention immediately turned to the point of entrance, as the Dracmon slowly got back up onto his feet. Whoever that attacker was, was close, and at this point it was likely that whoever it was would appear right inside the barrier. With the light of Chirinmon's form appearing in this rather tight space, the sorceress tightened her own focus, ready to intercept the attacker.
With a flip off of the Gate of Destiny, the Renamon landed comfortably inside of the barrier. She had to hurry: barely giving this unfamiliar horse a glance, the Renamon pressed her bare palm against the forest floor. To her left side, a bright light briefly pulsed out.
Outside the barrier, Denryu and Knightmon vanished with mere pops of light.
Inside, both the tamer and the knight appeared, Denryu resting his palm briefly on the Renamon's shoulder. "Oh? They left this much reserve?"
"I'll fend off the ultimate." The Renamon's words were succinct: with her speed, she moved to square off right in front of the horse. And like that, the Knightmon led, Denryu following close behind as they made their way directly towards that tree. Gritting her teeth, the Witchmon focused her spell, vines moving to snare right around the knight's ankles...
Vines that were quickly severed by the Knightmon's sword! The frustration was enough to make the Blue Witchmon stand, holding her broom to challenge the ultimate! "I don't know what you're after, but I'll be damned if I just let it happen!"
Battle Log: 1) Final Destination is in effect. (3/3) 2) Particle Accelerator is in effect. (2/3) 3) Evasion Protocol is in effect. (Renamon SPD up, ATK down) (1/3) 4) Devidramon is affected by Particle Beam Storm (x2). 5) Renamon has used her increased agility to vault over the Gate of Destiny. Translucent Singularity fails to pull afterwards, as the suction pulls from the open gate. 6) Devidramon is knocked down to prone position, sitting on two knees and an arm to resist further movement. His remaining hand strikes with 'Raider's Claw' towards the amorphous Digimon. 7) Renamon's ? ? ? is revealed to be 'Essence Summon'. Denryu and Knightmon teleport to her position. Renamon attempts to square off against Chirinmon. 8) Knightmon squares off with Witchmon.

May the forces of misfortune and story-telling what they were - a bothersome harlot. Having thrown a lot of what both Cion and MagnaAngemon had at their disposal, it was truly dismaying to realize it had been for nought thanks to the intervention of the vile piece of organic garbage that was Denryu and his silly cards. Yet the ascended CyberSagitamon was above displaying odium, preferring to carry herself with dignity and grace. Besides, she would not sink on her enemies' level by giving them even a single quarter. Showing determination and vigorous valor, that was what those who opposed her were meant to see.
At first, the cyborg-fox thought that Mitsuko and her partner would have to deal with the empowered Renamon by themselves, but seeing the human and his guards disappear immediately changed that opinion. Considering what the male mercenary had managed to pull off thus far, teleportation did not seem to be out of the question. And he did not appear to be a coward, hence a retreat back to the Blimpmon was highly unlikely. No - she was certain that the angelic warrior had to face several adversaries at once within the glade, which was a task too much to accomplish for him.
Yet leaving behind Alicia like was not an option either, especially when she was so close to unleashing her ultimate technique. But every second that got wasted here meant an exponentially increased chance for their mission to fail. Cion - she hated wasting energy, but when viewing her options she saw no other way. Taking in a deep breath, she channeled the energy of a powerful ability, but she did not release it just yet. Instead, she shot at the occupied Devidramon and crossed her fingers that things would work out the way she had intended - at least this once today.
The booming noises of active jet engines could suddenly be heard within the protected clearing in which the sacred tree resided. With her jetpacks on both her back and feet active, the metal huntress somersaulted several meters above the fiends within and towards the Witchmon standing strong and tall with her vines. Naturally, the CyberSagitamon HM shot at every hostile target beneath her, including the Renamon which was currently busy engaging a Chirinmon, who was most likely the young girl's partner. In the brief moment she had time to think, she realized that this suited her greatly, as she could fully focus on the sapient filth.
Landing gracefully, between the Knightmons and the holy tree, she pushed her arm forward, finally releasing all channeled power into a massive, impenetrable force field dome which covered a large part of the area around their objective. "Witchmon! Use your vines defensively! Uneven terrain, blockages, traps - whatever you can think of!" She commanded her ally firmly, hoping she'd heed her calls despite her predispositions.
Bracing her futuristic anti-material rifle and aiming it strictly at Denryu as to force his guards to react accordingly as to not put their master into harms way, she waited for her barrier to cease. Though so unlike her, there were 2 hopes which lingered on her mind. One of them had been mentioned before, and the other... well, the empowered Blimpmon was certainly not going to bombard them in due time - for obvious reasons, right?
No matter what, she stood her ground, her hologram-gown waving violently in the winds of the sky.

For a moment, she had truly believed that all she had to do was tear through this irritating demon dragon. Get through him, and the heartless Xros General would be just a matter of time to reach and take down. With everything the Xros’d Devidramon had leveled at her, the Knightmons would probably not be able to put up nearly as good of a fight. And then she heard it, some ever so slight pops… One eye practically wrenched over, dizzying the Spirit Wielder for a moment as well as the human mind was not meant to easily process two different images at once. But that didn’t matter. She’d seen what she feared.
The General she was trying to reach had vanished from sight. And she had come upon the same conclusion as Cion. That Denryu was not a coward. And then she recalled that the Renamon had done… something… with him. She couldn’t remember the detail on demand, but an assumption was easy enough to make. Mitsuko and MagnaAngemon would be quickly overwhelmed by superior force and numbers… She had to do something, but if she left now… Devidramon would follow her shortly and her rushing to aid the others would be invalidated. She had to stay here. Had to keep this demon busy. But then-
Her gaze again traveled in an instant, locking onto Cion. She was free, was she not? Both her and MagnaAngemon had been focused on the Renamon. And she was a Mega, her power would mean more in that fight. But would she make the right choice? Could she be trusted with putting priority on the mission objective and their third member? That much was proven in short order. There was parting shot launched at the demon, but she couldn’t afford to focus on the result of that. Cion had rushed to aid the defensive efforts.
Now she had to play her part, and either hold Devidramon at bay long enough… or take him down. Alas, tossing him about had had little effect, it seemed she had underestimated his reaction speed. Oh well, she had still showered him with boiling mercury back then, though that too seemed to have fallen flat for the most part. Again it hit how appropriately ironic their situation was. Both of them were solid front-liners that could brawl with the best of them. It would take some small thing to tip the battle one way or another. Devidramon had Denryu’s cards and, admittedly, the raw power advantage against Alicia’s thinning defenses. Alicia, on the other hand, only had whatever clever tricks she could pull out of her play book and what support Cion had been able to provide before circumstances forced her to focus elsewhere. And said book had technically been updated in this very fight.
But she had to focus. Devidramon was attempting to strike her again. From his position, though, it was difficult to develop a lot of power. His range of motion was hampered as well, get to the opposite side before he could get back up and his claw would have little if any power, all of it being expended in the cross over. Speed could’ve potentially made up for it by catching her before she could react, yes… But Cion’s support was doing the trick. It was an ever-so-slight speed reduction, but for someone like Alicia who was currently in a fast, mutable form? Even the slightest effect could mean the difference.
Her amorphous body twisted and warped, bending her figure at an extreme angle as she made her body flow around the strike. He’d managed a slight glancing blow though. That had allowed a nasty shock to pass through her conductive body, the liquid dragon snarling at the burning pain. Still… he would need to try a lot harder to fully catch her. She passed away from his claw before the damage could get worse, and then made a swiping motion with her arm towards the demon’s hip.
“Mercurial Divider.”
She had shown him this attack before. The swipe of her arm was a bluff to get him to think she was aiming there because she had shown those blades could be formed from her wrists. But nothing about the attack required them to come from only her hands or such.
Her shoulder was very close to his neck from how she positioned herself. She left the illusion go for a few seconds longer. Then her shoulder morphed and revealed the true aim of the attack, a scissoring strike aiming to find the weakest point in the demon dragon’s neck armor. With her ramping of power, though, she could do critical damage with those slashing blades even on a thick segment this time.
Perhaps she might even bring him down with this deceptive strike. Wouldn’t that be a triumph? But fortune hadn’t exactly favored them much at this point...
Battle Log
Alicia abuses her Amorphous Form to attempt an evasion of the very close Raider's Claw. She's only mostly successful, taking a glancing blow that inflicts moderate damage from the shock.
Alicia counters back with Mercurial Divider in a tricky way. She acts as if she's going for Devidramon's leg first, and then reveals this attack can come from anywhere, letting her aim for his neck at extremely close range.

Of course, Denryu's movement had not gone without notice - and unfortunately for him, the empowered Devidramon could, at best, only slow down one of the two targets. Occupied by the spirit digimon, Devidramon could only give out a guttural roar as Cion made her approach. That said, it wasn't a completely silent approach, the roar of jet engines filling up the flat expanse of Ceresmon's shell. Even at the other end of the barrier, both Denryu and the Knightmon could easily make out the incoming noise.
Thus, when the mega Digimon broke through the barrier, the knight's shield already covered for both himself and Denryu. This time, like the first, the Knightmon's shield gave a glow, the 'Particle Beam Storm' lasers absorbed directly in the metal. Squaring off with the Chirinmon in a rather give-and-take exchange, the Renamon managed to inch her head to the side, the laser uselessly diffusing into the earthen shell below. "Damn it - she had to show up now?!" Tch, there was nothing to be done about it: all the Renamon could do was keep both Mitsuko's and the Chirinmon occupied, leaving Denryu and the Knightmon to square off against both a mega and the Witchmon.
"Hm... vines?" Curious as to Cion's words, as the Knightmon held his shield forward, Denryu took a brief moment to check his Digivice, glancing over in the Witchmon's direction. A brief glint appeared over his eyes as the information from it glinted from the glowing screen of the device, but the tamer otherwise didn't show any outward reaction. The Witchmon, meanwhile, gave a nod, tapping her broom against the shell: "I know, just let me-"
"My, my... I'm in quite the bind, aren't I?" Wait, what? Now Denyu was the type to pontificate to himself? Inside the barrier, that sentence seemed to have no meaning...
... But to the Blimpmon above, that seemed to be some sort of cue. The machine that had proven itself to be docile decided to take action, its cannons clicking in place. However, it was not aimed to rain fire down on the current fight at hand, not at all. Instead, that main cannon was directed forward, right for the back of the Ceresmon's armored head. Relentlessly, the blimp started to fire, a main shot rocketing forth to give a concussive blast to the back of the massive Digimon's head. The side cannons bombarded as well, cleanly hitting the side of Ceresmon's shell...
... And, just as Denryu expected, with the entire island shaking beneath their feet, the 'Witchmon' reacted. Just as that blast hit the back of Ceresmon's head, the sorceress' own hand reached u[, grasping the back of her own head as she fell to her knees. Gritting her teeth, this 'Witchmon's' form started to phase, and with a burst of fragmented blue light, the illusion around her broke:
"Hm. Ceresmon herself?" Indeed, that explained a lot at once: how the Witchmon was so easily able to use the larger creature's data for her own purposes, and why she seemed to hold such concern for those in her 'healing' forest. Despite being a mega, however, 'Ceresmon Medium' only had the endurance and ability of Champion level Digimon, making her a vulnerable resident of the forest. With her being linked directly to the larger beast, it seemed damage to the main body made the medium unable to act:
"Damn... you..."
"Hmph." That just left the CyberSagitamon. Despite that personal barrier, without the vines to compensate, it was easy enough to the Knightmon and Denryu to circle around, keeping the armored soldier between the two. All he needed was a straight line to run in...
And with the cannons' fire shaking up the shell, the Xros'd Devidramon was left to fight Alicia by his - well, their own vigor. Left practically prone to the ground made it next to impossible to be thrown, but then again, it also reduced his ability to try and move away or strike back. Combined with his reduced speed and Alicia's agile form, he was only able to catch that metallic body with one small arc of electricity from his raider's claw...
... And it wasn't as if Alicia was going to leave it at that! With the metallic dragon left as an amorphous creature directly beneath them, the trees of the forest starting to once again reappear in the forest around them, Alicia gave her declaration, aiming to swipe right against his hip. The feint that the dragon produced was more than enough to distract him, the demon pushing off his knee to dodge that false swipe - only to have that sharpened shoulder appear directly in front of his head!
Damn it, big guy! I don't care if you have to give up an arm for this!
With the recommendation from a metallic friend sharing his body, the Devidramon settled on a rather grotesque answer: rather than letting those blades reach its neck, the demon instead slammed down its claw, right towards that blade and her shoulder, once more letting the electricity of 'Raider's Claw' flow through his arm! Sure, Devidramon might be sacrificing an entire arm to the cause, but the electricity flowing through would 'dull' the blade before it would reach the armored neck - and whatever remained of the arm would slam right into the spirit user's center!
