So... that was what the crimson bubbles had been for. Their purpose was not to launch a decisive counterattack at the two mercenaries in the air, but to further absorb incoming damage; mainly Vertigo's. Hundreds of his shots had been caught and encased by them, only to melt away and rain down onto the barren ground. The power of the remaining ion projectiles was too weak to overcome the erythraean barrier for good, but certainly they would keep it weakened for a while. Even the walls of a vault only managed to endure so much force before breaking.
Still, there was no reason to quail. After all, the empowered CyberSagitamon's lightning blast had performed as desired, shocking the VenomMyotismon to such a degree that one of its battered arms got rendered useless. That was without doubt justification to be sanguine as it showed that the titanic vampire was not as invincible as one might think. Attrition was not very effective, but sudden assaults proofed fruitful. That unfortunately meant they had to keep up the pressure despite beginning to feel fatigue, but for a task to be accomplished sacrifices had to be made at times.
"Cover us!" Cion commanded just as she launched another violent discharge at their enemy, this time directly at its eyes. Orifices were in the long run quite decent weak spots to be exploited. With another booming flash of dazzling lightning, the beam again soared towards its destination with such velocity that it was unreasonable to think the gargantuan digimon would be able to dodge it. In any case, the vulpine warrior had seen the swarms of relentless, blood-red constructs in the shape of bats flying heading for them from different direction. That was of course why she had instructed her partner to make use of countermeasures.
"Flare Barrier!" Vertigo bellowed eventually, yet again enshrouding his surroundings in a blinding field of pure heat, obscuring the vision of their opponents raising his armor. This was mere moments ere the artificial mammals would have collided with him. Not expecting them to change much of their course, the mighty AceJetmon merely released a single boost from his engines, causing him to diagonally drift a couple meters away from his previous position.
Hopefully that sufficed, even with their bonus speed now gone for good.

"Futile..."
Had this thing lost its mind? Even with it's right arm caught out of commission, the angered VenomMyotismon didn't shift a beat in its tone, its eyes hungrily tracking the now slower pair of Cion and Vertigo. Without the effects of Terminal Velocity, it would be a lot harder for the two to so easily leave the range of the titan's swarm, and by this point the monster had seen Cion's defensive patterns through and through. Surely the Flame Barrier would rise again - and, perhaps Cion even thought that the bats would perhaps stop short again, fearing being incinerated by those flames.
As the Shock Blast was once more fired off in his direction, the beast gave a growl, raising his uninjured, veiled left arm to defend: the blast would hit the center of his claw, right in the 'palm', leaving only a slight singe mark in its wake. Perhaps the interior had suffered more electrical damage than what let on, but it was clear that the larger target wasn't going to show damage on his face!
"Futile!"
Unlike before, the bats didn't think to stop short, purposefully crashing into the barrier, and even pursuing the target to 'rain in' from the top and the sides! The mammals themselves would burn and singe away, but as each bat vanished into data, the red mass surrounding them dropped down, intent to coat both Vertigo and the mounted gunner in one fell swoop! That wasn't the only intent: after a few bats pierced through, a hole would eventually breach through the barrier, letting entire bats try and swoop in. Should they manage, they'd try and swarm around Cion, attempting to grip around the feline's back and weapon with their wings and feet!
More than that, though, Cion might notice that her Nanomachine Zone had no effect on the red veil, the nanites attempting to impact the enemy simply vanishing into data on the touch!
Log: VenomMyotismon empowers 'Red Wing!' VenomMyotismon 'catches' the Shock Blast in his left hand, visually showing minimal damage. 'Red Wing' pursues Vertigo! Impacting the Flame Barrier, the remains of the first few deleted have their veil drip inside. They forcefully attempt to create a gap to try and swarm the rider inside!

Futile, huh? Gosh, Cion would need as many hands as Chakravartin to count how often she had heard this particular word from supposedly indomitable villains. Of course such beings, or perhaps only the parasite within her enemy this time, considered itself invincible. The options of defeat and severe punishment never occurred to fiends, which made them determined yet also predictable and insane. Sure they pretended sophistication, but once challenged our outclassed by another this vacant shell of hubris and confidence quickly crumbled to reveal the rotten, savage core inside. Although the situation at hand was a bit more complicated than that, it was still the same routine as always which revealed itself in front of her golden eyes.
However, things were not much different for the two mercenaries either. They had been forced into a pattern, which was a state the empowered CyberSagitamon did not like being. Predictability was a weakness she sought to exploit, not lapse into. Yet their opponent held too physical endurance to be knocked out by peeling away at him inch by inch, especially with that blasted barrier of his. Even if her 'absorbed' attacks caused damage it was simply impossible for anyone else but the VenomMyotismon to tell. Then again, in its frenzy, it probably was not able to as well.
"Missiles reloaded, ma'am!" "Then make use of them!" "Affirmative!" Was their vociferous and partially desperate conversation as the artificial, insentient bats approached them in an attempt to relentlessly collide with them. As instructed while slowly flying away in reverse from the titanic vampire lord, a third yet equally powerful nuclear blast was launched with an echoing boom towards his target, which naturally was the infected demon best. Hopefully, the tactical strike with its great force and heat were sufficient to finally put another dent into that cursed titan.
Unfortunately, Cion and Vertigo had to worry about the very same hazard.
"Prismatic Force Field!" The vulpine soldier bellowed when she saw the incandescent smoke screen fading and the bats still eager to claw at them. Bending her knees, Cion conjured the large shield dome a mere inch above her hand, encasing herself and parts of her trusted partner. However... many location like the wings remained fair game to the incoming flock, leaving the futuristic huntress with the hope that the soon to be gone realm of nano... - and it was gone. A thousand swearwords suddenly requested to be voiced.
And it was only then, when the swarm came crashing down on them with her mechanical but very much alive aircraft shaking violently that she noticed... the crimson tallow soiling them as if they were droplets of blood rain tainting a fine damsel. "Keep more distance!" She commanded firmly, not knowing the red liquid's effects and not wishing to find out about them first-hand.
Battle Log:
Move: - Cion uses 'Prismatic Force Field' to protect herself and parts of Vertigo - Cion does not utilize combat-passive ability 'Particle Beam Storm' ~ - Vertigo uses 'Fission Mortar' against VenomMyotismon

That 'very same hazard' was going to prove quite a pain for Cion and Vertigo to deal with. Even as Cion covered herself with her own force field as the AceJetmon's own faded away, the bats proved relentless in their approach. Not only did they swarm around Vertigo's exposed wings and underside, but the creatures started to intentionally crash into the shield itself. Over and over, the swarm would slam into their defenses, the feral creatures themselves evaporating into data with each impact.
But, provided they were landing as intended, the CyberSagitamon might quickly catch on: that red mass would quickly build up over the shield itself, like encased mud over a well-worn windshield. With the swarm already upon them, it wouldn't take long for Cion's entire field of vision to be stained a deep crimson. Unless Vertigo could maneuver through the swarm, it would likely be the same on the wings and the exposed parts of the machine as well.
The VenomMyotismons' goal was to completely encase them in this red mass, shield and all. That said, the missiles themselves would tear straight through, bats unable to intercept the blasts! As that beam careened towards the titan, VenomMyotismon could only raise one arm to intercept - and that did severe damage! Now his left arm, from the elbow to the wrist, showed severe signs of wear, the veil pulled back to reveal a severe burn and bubbling of the skin!
But if VenomMyotismon's efforts went as intended, neither Vertigo nor Cion would even see the results, their vision overtaken by veil. "Futile..." Should it get that far, VenomMyotismon's eyes would pulse a deep red, focusing on that mass much like he did the bubbles before, intent on tightening the grip. Once that shield dropped...
Log: VenomMyotismon is struck by Fission Mortar! His left arm is severely damaged! VenomMyotismon's Red Wing ruthlessly pursues Vertigo and Cion! They charge into Cion's shield and Vertigo with reckless abandon, deleting on high-velocity impact while leaving red mass behind where they impacted! VenomMyotismon is focusing, attempting to tighten the grip on the 'Red Veil' and have it snap inwards towards the target!

"Registering mechanical damage." "I'm aware of that!" Although her words were firm, they were not meant to be an insult towards her partner. Cion was simply under a lot of pressure, both figuratively and literally. Her legs often gave way an inch with each squad of artificial bats relentlessly and suicidally colliding against her barrier. Though the impact destroyed them in the process, her conjured means of protection was not left unscathed either. Unfortunately, being rendered unable to move soon proved to be the least of their problems.
This crimson liquid, whatever it was, rapidly encased them, worsening sight and likely carrying other dormant effects which would turn out to be hazardous. With her translucent shield eventually fading away as per usual, most of it dropped unto the top of the empowered AceJetmon who only slowly managed to increase distance between itself and the VenomMyotismon. This slow pace was the price for the ability to constantly face the vampiric titan to retaliate properly, and to intimidate it of course. Beyond the hubris and corruption, there was certainly a part of it which realized the potential damage the duo could impose on it - and any hesitation was naturally exploitable.
And it that regards it was a successful undertaking since Vertigo's mortars inflicted severe harm even upon gargantuan entities such as the enemy they were facing. They did not have the chance to savor it for long in their pseudo-retreat, especially when enshrouded by the red fog, but that did not matter. With no other option left, the sentient machine simply continued to rain ionized particles down on the fiend and the parasite within. Were some of the hundreds of projectiles consumed or not, they served the purpose by either inflicting more wounds on their target or nullifying some of those pesky bubbles.
As for the vulpine future-warrior, she had an entirely different idea in mind. Seldom had she utilized one of her abilities for a different purpose than disrupting an enemy or helping an ally, but there had always been one exception. In whatever state, her ability to creature distortions in gravity and space-time had often served her well, for example when she had to transport heavy items. Hence, making use of the same logic, why not smaller particles as well?
Not saying a word, Cion cast her singularity upon herself and her partner. Although both were engulfed in a brilliant maelstrom of data, its effects did not affect them at all since her powers were those of precision and not of great damage. Still, was the vortex sufficient enough to draw in the likely perilous liquid floating around them? Well... she would soon find out if it was enough to escape the VenomMyotismon's grip.
Battle Log:
Move: - Cion uses 'Translucent Singularity' to get rid off the crimson liquid. - Cion does not utilize combat-passive ability 'Particle Beam Storm' ~ - Vertigo uses 'Energy Gatling Barrage ' against VenomMyotismon

The Red Veil was not a blight to be underestimated - more than anyone, Vertigo would be learning that firsthand! As that shield faded away, the red mass would collapse inward, snapping into place like a demented shrink-wrap as the tail-end of the VenomMyotismon's focus took hold. It likely wouldn't just be the AceJetmon caught, but the signs of damage would be almost immediate: wherever the mass would touch, the metal underneath would start to corrode and turn red, electricity sparking as it threatened to eat away at its very data. How well could its systems work at this point, with the wings dulled and the frame itself experiencing heavy damage?
That was the question the VenomMyotismon asked himself, giving a grin at the display in the sky. This was the prime chance: the flame barrier had been used, followed by Cion's own shield. That weird blue aura was gone, and the jet no longer held the speed it once had. On top of that, slowed and damaged by the veil, what seemed like a desperate move to buy time rolled out in front of him: the CyberSagitamon used her vortex to pull away a sizeable amount of the mass, while the AceJetmon let forth his torrent of bullets against the VenomMyotismon. At this moment, however, the VenomMyotismon once more fired out its signature blast:
"Venom Infusion!"
From its chest, that powerful blast of sickly green energy would force its way out from the creature's chest once more! It proceeded, uncaring of the gauntlet of bullets that sank into the blast in its wake - such individually small shots couldn't even hold it down. This blast, which had previously completely erased a shield on contact, was now en-route to land a direct shot on both the vehicle and its pilot!
Log:
VenomMyotismon tightens the red veil, bringing the mass tightly against anyone inside the shield. VenomMyotismon fires Venom Infusion towards what he believes to be an immobilized target! This cuts through the center of the Gatling Barrage, lowering the effective spread of the attack - but the effect to deter Venom Infusion is minimal!

There was... simply not much they could do against this bothersome foe. Cion - and to a lesser extent her partner Vertigo - had often engaged hostile entities with the obnoxious ability to passively endure many things she had thrown at it. The conclusion was simple, yet inevitable. If their damage in form of attrition did not suffice, then their defense was bound to give way eventually. Unfortunately, nearing their breaking point, this occurrence turned reality with an approaching blast of greenish vitiation. This was clear to the vulpine warrior... and what had to be done. People needed to know what had happened here so they would be able to prepare themselves.
"Do you trust me?" She calmly asked her mechanical companion, his frame damaged by the lingering remnants of the red goo. If the AceJetmon was capable of nodding, he would have done so, but alas his head was as firm as his willpower. "Of course, ma'am." He responded, equally as calm as the synthetic beast who had hired him such a long time ago. Yet what had once been a mere business relationship had since developed into genuine friendship. Which was why... he had to follow her command one final time.
"Then go! You have a target in front of you!" The Ascended CyberSagitamon shouted, the sickly green glow of the titanic vampire's beam reflecting within her own, covered golden irises. The two of them worked together in unison - and they were not afraid to face their destiny. The booming noises of Vertigo's engines, flaring up like miniature stars within this wasteland of perpetual crepuscule, echoed throughout the area. As for Cion... she put all of her faith and trust into her friend... and those far away.
She knew she would have never been able to change the world, but... perhaps meeting those who could was the only role fate had meant for her to fulfill, even if it took uncountable centuries and several reincarnations. At least... it was a fulfilling thought of hope.
"Hypersonic Lance!" The sentient aircraft shouted before becoming engulfed in a veil of pure heat. Relentlessly, it dashed towards VenomMyotismon and its attack with incredible velocity, disappointing their enemy and its dreams of a stationary prey. Gently, the CyberSagitamon touched her companion's frame, infusing him with as much energy as she was capable of mustering to negate as many of the suffered injuries as possible. After all... he still had quite the journey back to civilization ahead of him. But to assure that it would occur at all, the marksmon had to provide a distraction.
Mere moments before the impact, as she wished the AceJetmon farewell in hushed whispers, he violently turned upwards. While he utilized the speed to tear through the sound barrier many times over, Cion's body got ejected to narrowly whiz beneath the incoming blast, still feelings its eldritch essence searing her armor which was a part of her. However, that would not distract her, since she was meant to fulfill that role.
Soaring downwards to the gargantuan host of a vile, crimson parasite, she took aim at its eyes and pulled the trigger of her anti-material rifle as often as she could manage. In her fury, only a single particle beam, if any at all, was likely to even strike the target. But that did not matter to her. "Come and get me, powerless animal!" A few seconds... that was all the digital world needed to have a fighting chance against this... opportunistic infection - with Vertigo being the messenger of her last, eternal will.

Do you trust me?
In Cion's current life, those may have been the heaviest words that she'd ever uttered. Even in that moment, as she was surrounded by that crimson veil, perhaps even facing her own demise, the CyberSagitamon remained calm, focused, and driven. Not an ounce of fear was shown on her head, as she and AceJetmon said their goodbyes. Mere yards away, the corrupt VenomMyotismon gave a grin, knowing that these fools were moving right towards that blast. It would all be over soon.
This one...
Deep in the beast's core, a noble soul's voice resonated inside. Right now, it escaped the notice of the vampire, and likely the beast flying in his direction. But at least for one 'onlooker', what had just happened meant more than the world to him.
Not that Cion wouldn't find herself in any less of a dire strait! With a blink, the VenomMyotismon lowered his head, just as the AceJetmon would rocket straight past him. Left uncontested, it would have been a simple matter to simply blast him out of the sky - but Cion kept his attention on her, the wild blasts easily striking him twice atop his head. At this point, the Red Veil started to fade, revealing the battered beast underneath. This ingrate still wanted to challenge him?
Fine then, forget the metal bird! "So be it! Die in his place! No longer could she easily flee with AceJetmon's speed - and with Cion left on a crash course for the beast, the answer was obvious, and terrifying. The VenomMyotismon's abdomen gave a crack, a torrent of sickly, purple fire spewing out in a wide spread out from his chest, right for the cybernetic Digimon's path. At its spread, well, she'd likely soon be awash in those flames...
... And should Cion manage to strike against VenomMyotismon's body? His left hand would immediately move to grip around the point of impact!
Log:
VenomMyotismon's 'Red Mode' has expired! AceJetmon has successfully fled! VenomMyotismon is struck twice atop his head, the beast's attention drawn towards Cion. In response, he uses Chaos Flame in her direct path, to both catch her in flames and obscure her vision. Should he get the chance, VenomMyotismon would attempt to grab Cion with his left claw!

"Two hits..." Cion whispered as she quickly soared downwards towards the VenomMyotismon. Unlike previous situations during this encounter, fortune had smiled down upon her this once. Was it her devotion and selflessness which had granted her a helping hand from fate itself, or was it mere coincidence she did not know. But one thing above all else was as clear as the digital world's blue sky. If this was destined to be her demise, the chance to let others be aware of the imminent danger, then she would be damned if she did not make it count for all that it was worth.
"Same to you!" The ascended CyberSagitamon bellowed as a response. In an instant, the jetpacks beneath her booths and shoulder kicked into action, pushing with azure blazes against the direction she was soaring towards. Almost coming to a standstill in midair, her futuristic anti-material rifle started pulsating violently, seemingly conscious of the particle beams stuck inside the titanic vampire's body. Beyond doubt the time had come to put the battered prey to rest if possible, even if it was going to be a suicide mission. Vertigo had long since managed to flee the battlefield - nothing else mattered.
"Accelerated Particle Storm!" Cion shouted at the top of her lungs as she aimed her weapon straight at the gargantuan fiend in front of her. At the same time as its flames of chaos flew right at the synthetic sentinel in an attempt to incinerate her, she too unleashed everything she had at her disposal. Simply pulling the trigger of her large gun, many bursts of hyper-charged buckshots dashed out of its barrel, but not straight toward the fiery beam but in an arc around it as to at the very least guarantee successful hits.
And as ionized ruination rained down on her enemy, the Cyber Sagitamon did not move an inch, no matter how close the wall of dark fire came. Every blink of an eye she did not utilize to eradicate the parasite within her opponent was a chance for it to survive. She doubted it was the only one of its kind, but the fewer the better...
Still, the ancient vanguard closed her eyes, not wishing what might be her last moments in this existence, or forever, to be filled with chaos and evil. Instead, her thoughts were in honor of those she treasured greatly. Her friends, such as Colin and the twins, Brad, Kan, Ban, D, John and Casimeir, Roy and Rex... and her family among which Owen and Logan were ... what great people they were, all of them in their own special way. Would they even know what had happened to her - and miss her? Would she ever be able to remember any of them if she awoke once again one day?
Not long ago, with the loss of the digimon she had loved the most, Cion had temporarily lost her will to live, unable to see any point in existing or fighting for anything. In the here and now, she was glad that those close to her had saved her from submitting to despair. And it was why she had to do what needed to be done; for if there was merely a single valuable lesson she had learned throughout the centuries it was what genuine happiness truly meant.
Voughn the Impmon - Voughn the Lambmon - Cion the Arniomon... all of that was of no importance as long as her thoughts reminded her of the smiles of her dearly beloved. No matter what happened next, she was ready to face it, knowing they would be able to continue forging their own serenity.

"Graugh!"
Ugh, where did she get all this pep?! Just when it seemed like Cion was literally about to fall into his greedy hands, the fox managed to hold herself in place, briefly avoiding the monstrous Digimon's grip. There, it seemed that Cion made her last stand: readying that rifle, one last barrage rained down over the VenomMyotismon. And damn it, it hurt! The intensified barrage sank into his wings, chest, and hide with reckless abandon, easily picking away over that impossibly large target. At first grinning his fangs against the pain, his screams and growls became evident - even as Cion would be blind to the damage he would be taken, behind that opaque veil of cursed flames.
Closing her eyes wouldn't save her the damage, of course. At the VenomMyotismon's strength, even her armor would start to ignite with a sparking blue flame - one that would continue to wash over her, even as that barrage came to an end. Would the flame damage her rifle past the point of usefulness? Would her jets be able to keep her afloat for much longer? Just how resolute was she in holding her position?
For these, the beast didn't even give her a moment to think. In sheer rage, the VenomMyotismon's remaining claw tore through the flames, greedily moving to grasp around the huntress! The grip, should it hold, would be tight and immediate, crimson light pouring out from his claw. If Cion managed to open her eyes, she'd be treated to a sight:
That of the VenomMyotismon, streams of red data pulling away from his arms and his chest. Slowly but surely, this Digimon was beginning to vanish away into the ether... but it seemed that he had no intentions to slip away alone! "And look where your vigilant nature got you. Little runt..." the beast grinned, his sharp, heated nails threatening to cut through her armor. "Just find relief that you won't be walking into the jaws of death alone..."
Left as it was, it was very likely that the vampire's threat was going to come to pass!
Log:
VenomMyotismon has taken fatal damage from Accelerated Particle Storm. VenomMyotismon uses Tyrant Claw, in an effort to pluck Cion from those flames, and crush her in his flaming grip!

When the dark torrents of searing flames struck her armored body, the digital flesh within grew limb almost immediately. There had been a brief moment of agonizing pain which had made Cion jolt, but willpower allow did not grant the crimson parasite inside the VenomMyotismon any sort of satisfaction from screams of suffering. From the very beginning of her existence as a unique vulpine digimon, she had carried herself with glee and grace. The latter was definitely not something about her she would surrender - not even in the face of imminent doom and demise.
The firestorm eventually ceased with the ascended CyberSagitamon's dignity intact unlike her futuristic armament. Without her focused mind controlling her scorched frame, she simply fell towards the ground. A white shimmer engulfed her whole chassis and her form faded for that of the familiar yet lesser appearance of the Arnamon. Equally as battered and bruised as her more powerful transformation, her core at least managed to sustain it with life for the few moments she had left. Yet with nothing on her except unmoving bones and sinew, what had been the point of prolonging her woe?
Cion did not feel anything when her vitiated adversary snatched her out of the sky like a human a firefly. Only her head protruded out of the gargantuan beast's palm, golden eyes barely open and only perceiving unclear color stains. Very slowly, senses returned to her in a damaged state, which at least carried the fortune of dulled pain. Still, she could see... that he was vanishing - but why? Had she truly been able to inflict so much damage upon him that he broke apart? That... or she had merely finished what Vertigo had started. No matter what, a faint grin appeared on her muzzle.
The parasite could deny it for all she cared... she had won - and it had lost.
Reflecting upon her current and past selves, it was arrogant to say it hardly was a surprise, but it was the truth. So many challenges she had triumphed over - villains vanquished - ages of peace ushered in... but there was a single yet fundamental difference this once. She had attained victory against a mighty opponent by herself. Friends as always had led her to this crucial moment, but it had been her devotion and valor alone which had given her the strength to bring an end to this clash. It was... almost miraculous.
As an Impmon back on the ruins of File Island, what had she been more than a small cog in a big machine that was the resistance against the barbaric CaptainHookmon? And as an Lambmon, what had she been more than a Watchmon among many under the grand leadership of a wonderful king? Certainly she had contributed to peace and prosperity to the best of her abilities, but it was always under the guidance of someone else. Mostly Owen the Gaomon, but their paths had diverged. Independent of his influence, this victory was hers alone.
Perhaps... she was stronger than she thought. And maybe, it was time to finally heed an advice from her own heart and not those from the wisdom of those she called her dearly beloved friends. For as much as she treasured them and appreciated their support and company, did she not too have the right to be happy and live her life the way she wanted? Naturally, they had not attempted to take this away from her... except one aspect. They had all advised her to reject her past memories, but it were those which enabled her to savor her triumph.
No... she was not just another incarnation of a digimon awakening from natural death. Who she used to be and who she was in this very moment... they were the same in every aspect except in body. And all of them refused to yield to the dark entity's will, as they had invariably done.
"You are right..." Cion spoke barely loud enough for the VenomMyotismon to hear, the grin perpetually lingering on her small snout. "I've never faced death alone, and with the friends I've been blessed with I never will. And today... is not an exception." The still motionless Rookie uttered in defiance of the titanic vampire's malice.
With her head snapping backwards, a radiant grace unlike any other seen before engulfed her frame, shining brightly like a miniature white dwarf. It was as if a beacon of hope appeared amidst the crimson blight which consumed this barren wasteland of eternal twilight. The burning fervor of her Impmon-self consumed the tiny sentinel in pure incandescence, while the eternal passion of her Lambmon-self stabilized the injured vessel of her trinity-core. And to act upon the zest for life of her Arnamon-self, her previous volition of self-sacrifice faded completely.
After all... she wanted to not only know of the smiles of those she loved, but she wished to see them personally.
Golden, elysian radiance blazed out of her eyes, a similar aura of raw life force slowly veiling her neck and tail. A strange distortion, like a Fata Morgana set in around the two digimons, events of the recent past playing out again in front of the corrupted VenomMyotismon's eyes. However this time, the still digivolving Cion had not been struck by the stream of flames. And as the vision created by unleashed powers in the benign warden's semi-unconscious state ceased, they turned into reality.
Despite their current situation being the same, the once inflicted damage was gone as if it never had happened in the first place.

Oh, what was this? No screams of pain, no begging, no agony? The VenomMyotismon's own personality broke through, a grin on his face as he snapped that mere Arnamon out of the sky. It didn't matter to him if she hadn't given in as of yet: his claw still burned with fierce flames, threatening to burn away this mere rat on the spot.
... If only it were so simple. Somehow, Cion didn't simply vanish into a cloud of data at the mere pressure of his grip, the fierce flame still whipping around her. With data slowly peeling away from the titanic Digimon's frame, he found himself growing more frustrated: just what made her so durable? Why hadn't she simply resigned herself to her fate? Even as her form pulsed with light, and she started to heal, the beast still kept on this rage-filled line - whatever revelations she had within herself were of little matter to him!
"I'll show you an exception!" The VenomMyotismon growled, his grip tightening even further around the transforming Arnamon. She would feel herself swung around, held right in front of the VenomMyotismon's chest, a now-familiar green glow forming right in front of her. He didn't have much longer in this world, anyway: what did it matter to him if he blew off his own arm?
"Venom Infusion!"
And once more, that terrifying energy would race out, threatening to rush past, engulfing the entire claw past his wrist...
VenomMyotismon, in his final throes, uses Venom Infusion on his own claw, grappling the Arnamon!

"No - you won't." An androgynous voice began echoing out of the incandescent silhouette within the VenomMyotismon's malicious clutches. It was a strange presence, ethereal in its sound and apparently coming from all conceivable directions as if the source had communicated telepathically. The symbolism behind this was obvious, for wherever there was an innocent individual needing Cion's help, or a villain seeking to impose bane upon others, she had once vowed to be there to deal with the matter at hand. The desire to witness her dearly beloved smile had not altered this destiny she had chosen by a single bit.
Yet Cion in her ascendance permitted the titanic vampire, or what was left of its corporeal form and mind, to resist her volition. In an an act of desperation, it did not take long for it to muster as much power as possible to release it in a massive, glaucous beam of destruction. Mere feet away from its place of origin, the surge of fell energy impacted with its owner's claw... almost. For it tore apart into an uncountable amount of smaller rays, scattering around and beyond its target like dispersed shotgun pellets. Although the ground of the barren, ragged wasteland suffered from further scars of booming annihilation, it hardly made a difference.
Short afterwards, the reason for this change in events manifested itself in front of the corrupted demon lord. With unfathomable speed the previously caught entity of life force pushed itself out of its gargantuan claws, wishing to face the poor soul at eye level. Gently, the newly emerged empyreal beast hovered before the hollow, white eyes of its former enemy. Where once tail, neck and eyes were only shone the aureate of the cosmos itself, the astral veil gently winding itself as if eternal in reach along the combatants and the surrounding area.
With a body of pure incandescence, the Arniomon calmly hovered in front of the VenomMyotismon, its expression mostly neutral with a hint of grave pity. It was collected in its stance, unmoving as it held its left arm behind its back, while its right one covered in an aura of crystalline periwinkle and streams of white binary code rested before its frame. It served as an explanation for why the gigantic monster's previous attack had failed - a prismatic yet mostly translucent force field conjured by it covering her entire forefront.
Cion beheld the slave of the crimson scourge fading into oblivion and possibly what lay beyond, but that was by far not an acceptable outcome. It left too much uncertainty, too many questions unanswered, too many potential opportunities to stop it in the dark. That was exactly why the Arniomon did not attack, instead trying to do its incarnation as a being of a millennia's wisdom justice. "Why are you doing this? What is it that you want, parasite who has claimed this vessel?" She asked in an un-inculpatory way, truly wanting to comprehend the impetus of the contagion if there was one.
And it was clear, despite looking the dark digimon of the Mega level straight in its eyes, that she was not talking to it. After all, what use was there in an enslaved, dying husk?

The VenomMyotismon was outclassed before his attack even fired. The titan was confident with the mere 'rookie' in his grip, 'knowing' that she was just a mere instant or two from being nothing more than fragments of red scrap data, billowing away in the harsh winds of the Dark Area. The D-Reaper's confidence filled the vampire's own bravado, and that attack roared out without delay or remorse...
... But, the Arniomon's defenses held. The powerful, translucent blast split across an unseen barrier, one that also forced the claw to loosen around its victim. The once sadistic look in the VenomMyotismon's eyes were replaced with shock, that tensed arm quickly falling to the side soon after. It seemed that blast carried the last vestige of his strength, and in the appearance of this capable Digimon?
Arniomon had to do nothing more to overcome this threat. Whatever reserves of energy she had left were not tested, as those dull, white eyes settled right on the radiant super mega. Her question rang with a rare calmness, one trying to dig deep into this creature's presence, its code. Her words were not answered by the VenomMyotismon, nor even the parasite within:
No, it was the parasite within the parasite, that first answered: "Because we must." The words held an echo, one that would lightly ring even in Cion's own ears. "Power without end. A chaotic sea clashing against itself. It cannot persist. It must vanish."
Just... what did that mean? As quick as those words came, that terrifying, vacant voice left the VenomMyotismon's expression, the 'light' returning to his eyes. With his data floating away and his form starting to even radiate with light - it seemed the VenomMyotismon finally regained his sense of self. Seeing that radiant creature of light, a rare, gentle smile graced VenomMyotismon's face.
"So... that's it, then?" The tone was somber, a light, gasping chuckle shared with his words. "Then these are the last words of the Tyrant of the Dark Area, Myotismon. For what you've done for us, I forgive your trespass, and congratulate you." The untainted villain gave a chuckle, even taking the moment to spread his arms wide in celebration.
"This will be the one defeat I accept, in the end." Just a few moments later, his form would finally fade...
... And with a clatter below, Musyamon's totem would rest in that peat moss.
VenomMyotismon has fallen.

Fortune - destiny - force of will - Cion did not what it was that had pushed her towards her pinnacle, nor was she interested in comprehending the true nature of the reason. Digimons often ascended in times of desperation and epiphany, so why was it supposed to be different for her? She had not anticipated it, had neither forced it nor begged for its occurrence. Although determined to keep on fighting, she had been willing to accept whatever fate had in store for her. Ultimately, it seemed that it did not long for her to sacrifice herself on this day of revelation. This meant she had a chance to protect her dearly beloved and the innocent - an opportunity she did not allow to pass her by.
For that, the cosmic beast had to attain an understanding of what she was actually facing. To her surprise, her questions were answered, her calm expression unchanging in spite of the disclosure she received. "A parasite enslaved by its nature... just like its hosts." The Arniomon spoke with closed eyes, a faint sighing escaping its invisible lips. Such simplicity and the chaos it begot - it was heartbreaking to the sentinel of life that similar things still manifested themselves within the digital world. A dark impetus at least had an impetus, but this... so aware of and apparently abhorring itself... no.
But as much as she wanted to weep; mourn the unjust and apathetic suffering tainting this otherwise beautiful realm with infinite potential, she knew it was not an affordable luxury. It was Cion's self-determined purpose to be strong for others, were they friends or strangers. In this moment in particular however, she had to be steadfast for someone she considered both an enemy and a victim. Quietly and attentively, she opened her eyes again and listened to what the dying VenomMyotismon had to utter. Even in exitus, it beamed with a sense of pride that was... strangely charming.
The warden eternal too smiled. "Hey... it was my pleasure. And don't worry. When you will you awake again, you will be able to live free. Happy as well." She spoke kindly, hoping to comfort the collapsing soul with her typical benevolence. After all, harm was not her motivation to bring justice and order to her home, but the longing for lasting peace. The more beings she knew content with what they had, savoring the presence of treasured friends, the better everyone's existence would be.
And then... the former adversary vanished. Yet, unlike almost all other digimons, it did leave something behind, peaking Cion's interest. Still hovering in midair, she beheld the totem of a Musyamon with interest. with willpower alone, a golden, mostly translucent aura surrounded the object, quickly floating in front of the cosmic beast so she could inspect it properly. Carefully, she touched it with the tip of one of her talons.
