Slam Jam, huh? Well, if the Garurumon wanted to go into the melee, that's what he'd get! Despite being knocked back by the wolf-like digimon, that was only fuel for the fire that was brewing at the moment; Stridermon trashed at the Garurumon, not giving him an inch of an advantage if he didn't fight for it fiercely. What would probably surprise the wolf was that, as the mass of tendrils tried to wrap around him in an effort to hamper his offensive, the spirit wielder would use the exact same ability Garurumon had used moments ago. The goal? Knock Garurumon over and inflict just as much pain as he had inflicted. This fight was beginning to get a bit messy, but the fact that Stridermon was naturally outmatched was a truth, and if the digimon pretended to buy enough time for the twin tamer to bring the tower down, that meant some cheap shots were the name of the game.
—Stridermon gets hit by Garurumon's Slam Jam, but fights back to prevent being fully knocked down. Then tries to knock him down instead. —Stridermon gets healed a bit thanks to Reprocess. —Stridermon uses Slam Jam against Garurumon. Reprocess [Passive Ability]: Drawing energy from nearby sources, this digimon can gain sustenance and progressively heal her wounds over the course of time, growing stronger in the posts when she's not receiving damage. Can have the side effect of deteriorating the environment in bouts of voraciousness. Slam Jam: Pounces at the opponent with the intent to knock them back or over, the attacker doesn't care which one. This doesn't actually inflict anything. It's just a really brutal slam. —Blaze Blast becomes replaced by Slam Jam.

Skye had never been to the Northern Prominence before. But she had experienced a climate similar to it. Yes, life in the Empyrean Skies was advertised as the closest thing to heaven, but, the reality of the thing is that it can get damn cold up there.
Perhaps this was why she was perfectly comfortable in simply her fur as she walked the snowy plains. However, her partner was less tolerant of the sheer chill of the area. Hickory the Chuumon was sitting upon her shoulder, shivering and curled up in an attempt to prevent himself freezing over.
"God... I didn't know it'd be this freezing up here" he whimpered.
"I did offer you the chance to buy pants in Terminus City" Skye pointed out.
"Yeah, well, they had none my size, and I thought my fur would be enough!" Hickory complained. Well, there wasn't much use of complaining now. They were here and had to deal with it. Skye walked the plains for a while, hearing about a disturbance in the area. Since she had partially regained her memories, she... kind of wanted to help others in the digital world a lot more. Even if she had grown with a principle to simply mind her own business and let things play out without intervention, well, now she knew from experience that that kind of way of thinking simply allows atrocities and cruelties to play without impediment. And that wasn't something she was okay with.
When Skye entered the field of the "Dark Tower" that had been reported in the area, she knew about it alright. Her tail ring immediately sparked and grew dark from interference, sealing its powers within the field, reducing the Gatomon back to her rookie level. Hickory meanwhile was unaffected, but looked at his partner with worry.
"Skye... are you alright?" he asked.
"Something... bad is nearby" Skye answered, panting, trying to regain control of herself. That was some nasty effect she was hit with just now. Hickory glanced down at her blackened tail ring, then to her directly.
"Skye... that digimental you found in the Village of Beginnings" he said. "Do you think that'll work now?"
Skye pondered this. Legend had it that a digimental would grant a rookie level digimon armor and power almost at the level of Champion. Why, now that her ordinary Champion level powers had been sealed, maybe now was the chance to try it?
"Okay. Best hop off my shoulder for the moment, Hickory, let's test this thing out" Skye said, and reached into her backpack for the crystal-lined digimental she had found that day. She inhaled and exhaled deeply to gather her thoughts, then raised the artifact.
"Digiarmor energize!" she called, and to her and Hickory's surprise, it worked! Skye glowed with light as her form grew, obtaining the properties of the digimental.
"Gatomon armor digivolve to... Lekismon! The Archer of Responsibility!"
The light of the evolution faded, and Skye now stood at twice her normal height. She held her arms out in wonder, fascinated at her new form.
"Wow, Skye, that was amazing!" Hickory exclaimed. He supposed it was safe now, so he climbed back on her shoulder. "Regardless, something bad is up ahead! As much as it pains me to say, we should probably check it out!"
"Right on" Skye answered, and the Lekismon rushed toward the general direction of the control spire. And then she arrived, seeing a terrible battle erupting all around. This wasn't good. At once, Skye rushed to the side of the SnowAgumon, ready to help.
"I heard a distress signal from this area, what's the problem here?" she asked him with a tone of urgency.

The spire's base continued to suffer severe amounts of damage, unguarded and unprotected. Yet it still seemed to not want to give. Perhaps another strike at the base, the base which is now cracked like a pot of fine china gone horribly awry in a cheesy 80s movie, will finally send this behemoth toppling.
...Basically, keep hitting it.
Meanwhile, with Amelie and co....
This was a surprise. Garurumon had expected this...strange creature to pull something out of it's sleeve, sure. He was not expecting the exact same ability he had just used. Nope. And he was toppled over and subject to some serious blunt force.
SnowAgumon watched Amelie tango with that which had very literally eaten many unwary Tamers and Digimon alike like it was nothing, when...
A Lekismon and a Chuumon came up and asked him what was wrong. SnowAgumon just raised a claw and gulped. "A girl turned into that to fight Garurumon. That spire's messing with our ability to digivolve. There's a woman and her partners at the back trying to do their best to destroy it but I don't know how they're doing." Though, now that he mentioned it? The base of the spire was showing cracks...
"...I can only assume they're doing fine. It's unguarded..."
He was hoping Garurumon didn't hear him. He didn't seem to. Speaking of, the champion level seemed to stand up before a very ominous...chuckle began to sound, before he let out a vicious howl! Ice began to form allover his body, especially his claws! Stridermon had better watch out!
SnowAgumon gulped again! "I-If it's not too much can you please help the weird lady before he eats her?"
Garurumon got slam jammed! The spire got a chip in it again! A rabbit showed up!
Garurumon's playing a little harder.
Ice Wall: Garurumon covers himself in a layer of icy armor! It lasts for 3 turns and has a cooldown of three turns. You’d think this would lower the amount of damage he takes...But it instead makes his claws ever-sharper. 25% damage increase!
Coupled with Lord of the Game (which I cOMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT) he now has a 50% damage increase. Stridermon can probs shrug the damage off.
And before I forget about it again:
Lord of the Game: Garurumon smells your fear. It entices him to try harder to defend his precious. As such, he deals...25% more damage than normal. Yeah, he hits hard. Hopefully anyone who has to fight him can party harder.
And for hits remaining...
Garurumon is at 10/16!
The spire is at 10/20 too!
Seriously, Cloak hits hard. Like, ouch. Don't knock it onto your allies, though!

"We're almost there! You've almost got it! The base is cracking!" Cas called out to Cloak and Dagger even as she flipped through her cards. Power chip would only last for a short time longer as would the guardians distraction. Best to take advantage of the situation while they could. Plucking a Beserk Protocol card from her deck the Doctor decided it was time to do some real damage. "It's time we bring this tower toppling down." Cloak murmured in response even as Cas slid the card through her D-arc leaving the Kotemon suddenly flush with two fold power as he leveled the blade that was his twin at the monolith. "BURN!" The Rookie roared out launching a blade of flame from his sword. The fire turning massive with the supercharged strike as it launched towards the base of the tower in a screaming inferno of heat. The fierceness of the attack enough to melt even the snow around the Cloak leaving him standing panting with effort on bare earth.

Garurumon seemed to be surprised at Stridermon's own attack, enough to give her a moment of respite; apparently. That was a relief of sorts to Stridermon, who immediately widened the gap it had between Garurumon. The digimon could sense how its foe was increasing its power sharply, even if he had rescinded a bit of its time in order to do so; time that Stridermon would seize in order to put a hurting on the target that actually couldn't dodge its attacks. As the snow around her began to blacken, once again, she began to amass a ball of fire in between the joints of two tendrils, promptly releasing it in the direction of the dark tower. With any luck, that'd help the two rookies that were currently doing a number on the structure. How far was it from falling, anyway? Oh well, at least Amelie was glad that she was doing a good enough job at distracting the Garurumon from her weaker companions. She had to admit that thus far, the wolf had been a formidable opponent; thinking that the fight was over just yet was probably the last mistake she will make, especially since the power boost that he had attained was really huge. For how long would she be able to hold him? That was a good question; even if she wasn't precisely dying to find the answer.

Skye looked at the control spire. So... that was the thing that was interfering with her holy ring earlier? Well then, looks like it had to go down. Then SnowAgumon asked if she could possibly help out the 'weird lady' before Garurumon ate her.
"Alright, we will" she said. While ordinarily she would have passed at such an opportunity, well, something wasn't right here. Why was the Garurumon able to fight at Champion level and they weren't? Why was the control spire here in the first place? She felt that it would be her newfound duty to do her best to bring it down here. "Hickory, got anything that can help too?"
"Oh you're not bringing me in this are you?" Hickory asked, then gave a squeak as Garurumon suddenly became much more fearsome. The Lekismon took a step back meanwhile, she thought that getting near that thing would be a costly mistake, the shimmering ice spikes looking like they would leave more than a mark. Fortunately she had other options. It was her steadfastness that convinced Hickory to help out too.
"Alright then..." he sighed, taking off his hat, revealing a small yellow slice of cheese sitting there. How it got there? It was hard to say. But the Chuumon picked it up deftly in his paw, then with a cry of "Mozzarella Surprise!" hurled it at Garurumon's feet.
If his aim was true, it would explode into a sticky mess - not quite strong enough to pin down a Champion level, but enough to hopefully slow him down. With that, it was Skye's turn, she raised a paw in the air, gathered forth glittering ice crystals from her surroundings until it formed a great spear of ice, then she hurled it.
"Frozen Javelin!" she cried, and aimed it at the black collar around Garurumon's neck. It seemed to match the material and aura of the control spire, perhaps attacking that would be the way to go?

A creak was heard as the lifespan of the tower began to near it's inevitable and permanent end. It was actually...starting to list? Could it even do that? There was barely a base left after the superheated attacks of both Stridermon and Cloak (wielding Dagger) had connected. "Hit it again!" Cried SnowAgumon! "FINISH IT!"
...Yes.
It was time to end this.
Meanwhile. Garurumon snarled as he turned to face Stridermon! Gaining distance...However, he was alerted to two new combatants, judging from the voices. He turned to find the single most unexpected thing in the world flying at him. Cheese.
Cheese at his feet. Well, he had been immobilized again, and a icy javelin impacted his Dark Ring, causing it to crack, and Garurumon to roar! "BURN!" Limited speech. The cracks, now that they have come up, were numerous. Something's got to give.
Garurumon's maw lit up with blue flame as he targetted Skye...And let loose a move every Garurumon worth their salt knew.
"HOWLING BLASTER."
The battle, however, was nearing it's end. Swiftly.
The tower gets HIT A LOT. From the sheer power of Cas and co. and Amelie's Blaze Blast, it's at the end of it's rope.
2/10. Seriously, a cherry tap might do it in now.
Garurumon is immobilized and hit by Skye.
Garurumon retaliates.
Howling Blaster: The move every Garurumon knows. A blast of blue, high temperature fire straight from the mouth! Leaves the target burning for two turns if it hits, three turn cooldown.
Garurumon is at 6/16. Being immobilized kind of hurts.
Passives and buffs at play include:
Lord of the Game: Garurumon smells your fear. It entices him to try harder to defend his precious. As such, he deals...25% more damage than normal. Yeah, he hits hard. Hopefully anyone who has to fight him can party harder.
Ice Wall: Garurumon covers himself in a layer of icy armor! It lasts for 3 turns and has a cooldown of three turns. You’d think this would lower the amount of damage he takes...But it instead makes his claws ever-sharper. 25% damage increase! 1/3

"Finish it! It's almost down!" Cas called out as Cloak leveled the golden sword that was his twin at the tower one last time. Power built up along the blade as the little swordsman took his stance and aimed. Then with a sweep of his weapon he sent another wave of light crashed at the tower.
"Dawn Slash!" He yelled out using his twins own signature technique as his slammed into the base of the tower. Meanwhile the other group was having their own difficulties with the Garurumon as it targeted the newcomer. Skye however, would find a glittering reflective shield between herself and the incoming fireball as Cas slid the Mirror shield card through her D-arc and concentrated on their latest ally. With any luck they could keep the ice dog busy just that little bit longer and aid in toppling the eyes sore that was the Dark Spire.
Cloak The Kotemon Uses:
- Dawn Slash: Sends a sweeping blade of light energy at the opponent through the air.
Active Abilities/Cards:

With everything said and done, the tower seemed like it was about to give up at any moment from now; it would take a couple of attacks at most, but Siftermon wasn't taking any chances; noticing that the full attention of the Garurumon was focused on the newcomer, the digimon took the luxury of spending one or two precious seconds at aiming at the tower, then released yet another gout of flame on its direction.
With any luck, that would be enough to bring the tower down, once and for all. Maybe it had been a lucky coincidence or a whim of destiny, but Amelie had found amusing how the very role that she had enacted until almost the very end of the fight —being the distraction—, had been taken away from her at the very least moment, even though she probably wasn't complaining about her being the lure and now being actually able to collaborate in the destruction of the tower.
With any luck, the Lekismon and her rodent friend would emerge unscathed from the attack. —Siftermon regains a bit of health due to Reprocess.
—It takes aim for a couple of seconds annnnd.
—Releases yet another Blaze Blast at the Dark Tower.

Can have the side effect of deteriorating the environment in bouts of voraciousness.

Understandably Skye and Hickory's arrival wasn't welcome by the Garurumon, who seemed to rather take badly to being struck with ice and cheese. Skye trembled a little from the menace in his face as he turned to her, mouth glowing with blue fire.
"Not good..." she thought, then a torrent of blue fire came flying at her. Damn it, she'd have to leap pretty high to dodge that, but, it seemed, dodging didn't seem necessary, thanks to the efforts of the human.
A barrier formed in front of the Lekismon, just as Hickory squealed for her to dodge and instead took cover behind her head, shaking. The Howling Blaster struck the Mirror Shield, and it seemed to be completely deflected. Of course the raw power of Garurumon made her a little hot under the fur, draining some of her own energy to keep it active, but, with all her might, Skye made the remaining blaster strike the side of the Control Spire instead. She panted from the effort, unable to make another attack this turn.
However, Hickory felt rather relieved by what happened and stood back up on Skye's shoulder.
"Well, it's not much, but here goes!" he called, conjuring another slice of cheese in his paw. "Dangerously Cheesy!" he cried, and hurled the cheese straight at the control spire, which exploded as it struck.
Skye obtains Mirror Shield from Cas, which reflects Garurumon's Howling Blaster onto the Control Spire. She makes no other move this turn.
Hickory uses Dangerously Cheesy on the Control Spire.
- Dangerously Cheesy: Conjures a cheese shaped grenade in his hand and hurls it at an opponent, which explodes for small damage.

SnowAgumon felt like it was done with.
He was soon to be proven very correct, as the myriad of attacks aimed for the spire, especially Garurumon's EMPOWERED HOWLING BLASTER THAT HAD BEEN DEFLECTED BY THE LEKISMON WITH THE AID OF CAS, blasted, slashed, and struck against the obsidian structure and effectively not only caused the crack to come full circle, but Garurumon's reflected attack straight up blew a hole in it. A molten, gaping hole. A little overkill when one considers Cloak and Dagger's strike to have effectively sliced it in half already.
And it fell down.
It plummeted down. With a loud, sonorous CLANG that echoed across the tundra. And as the structure impacted the ground, the ring upon Garurumon shattered, and the monster let out a howl as he degenerated into...
Was anyone expecting a Gabumon? Because they were about to be disappointed. The Garurumon degenerated into a Strabimon. A keeled over and unconscious Strabimon at that.
SnowAgumon jumped for joy! "You did it! You all did it!" He then looked to the Strabimon. With no small amount of contempt...? Nope. He looked shocked. "...I know that guy. I'll admit that I...wasn't...really expecting him to be the guardian..."
The Spire used TIMBERRRRRRRRRR.
...Yeah no really it's at 0. You did it, good job! Now you just gotta deal with...
Garurumon.
Wait he's just done too. No spire means he's effectively done for.
Which means combat ends.

With the combat over Dagger was quick to resume his normal Zubamon form. Leaving Cloak to lean against him the Kotemon somewhat worn out from the constant attacks eve as the pair ambled over to the downed Strabimon. Circling around the unconscious rookie with lingering wariness.
"Step aside." Cas ordered striding up to the group even as she tucked her cards away. Shooing the SnowAgumon and the twins back with her hands she knelt to check on the out cold Strabimon. Finding him thankfully alive and unharmed, but clearly exhausted.
"We should get him somewhere safe and warm. Other then having used up all his energy and burned himself out fighting us I suspect he'll make a full recovery with time a rest." The Doctor mused even as she scooped the gangly rookie up into her arms with a sigh.
"Could you point us towards the nearest town or trailmon line?" Cas questioned tilting a head as inquired of SnowAgumon.

It had been done, hadn't it been? Stridermon could sense how the Tower collapsed and how its influence was beginning to ebb away. The joys of a job well done, weren't they? The human and the digimons had done a good job at demolishing that thing, and that meant that there wasn't much left for the digimon to do.
Deciding to not outstay her welcome, the Stridermon just vanished from sight and into the cold emptiness of the Tundra. Today had been an interesting day, and while the notion of it being over wasn't quite there yet, something akin to satisfaction resonated through the being's psyche. It was a bit inexplicable, but toppling the towers —or being instrumental on that happening, like in this case— brought that feeling.
What next, though? That was something that wasn't entirely figured out at the moment, but there was no hurry to do that. All in due time. [Exit]

Much to Skye's surprise, the Control Spire had been damaged enough so that it looked like it was collapsing even before the reflected Howling Blaster hit it. Of course, all it did was accelerate the downfall. And as for Garurumon, well, now that the tower was destroyed, it seemed the control over him had been lifted, and he had collapsed and de-digivolved.
"Oh... gosh, is he alright?" Skye asked, approaching with concern. SnowAgumon mentioned that he seemed familiar. Hickory meanwhile, who had been trembling behind Skye's head the whole time until he heard the tower slam down in the snow finally looked up to see what had happened.
"Did... did I do that?" he asked, wondering if his cheese grenade had finished things off.
"Well, you helped, Hickory" Skye answered. "But it was going down anyway". With that, she looked at the others in the vicinity. The human seemed to be examining the wolfish rookie digimon, it seemed that she was some kind of medical practitioner. This made the Lekismon rather curious.
"Ah, sorry to interrupt, but, we just came from the Trailmon station" she answered Cas's question. "We can show you back there if you like. Oh, by the way, my name's Skye and this is Hickory" she introduced them. She felt a moment of guilt inside her as well, seeing the Strabimon unconscious like this. Had her attack caused him to be reduced to this condition?
"Also... I have the ability to heal if that would help, just letting you know" she felt the need to add. But if the human said that wouldn't be alright, she wouldn't press the matter. But there'd be one thing she'd insist on. "Would we be able to accompany you? I'd like to talk to Strabimon when he wakes up". She intended to apologize for attacking without warning, she didn't want there to be any bad blood between them.
Hickory meanwhile was more confused by the other digimon. "Where did she go?" he wondered out loud. But the thought of being in a warm Trailmon carriage was a better prospect for the Chuumon at the moment.

Skye came in with a real quick save there, because let's be real.
SnowAgumon had lived in the Tundra his whole life. He didn't know where the Trailmon station was at cause he never needed to leave. Though...The girl...The one that turned into that weird thing...She was long gone. Though...
He looked to Cassandra scooping up the unconscious Strabimon up. Like it or not...Despite Strabimon having been responsible for a great many terrors as Garurumon?
What kind of friend would leave another? "...I know where tracks are. The kind Gatomon and her friend seem to know the way towards the Trailmon line proper. I'll...accompany you there. See you off. Uh...Actually, I'll just come with you. Strabi's my friend. Friends stick together."
Strabi was out cold still, though. SnowAgumon then looked to the wreckage of the tower. "Real nice job with the tower, though, guys!"
