Thus far, there wasn't much Amelie could say about the public transportation system in the Digital World. The so-called 'Trailmons' were quick and comfortable, and pretty much... there wasn't anything negative she could say about them, thus far? If a passenger was being annoyed, they just risked being kicked out by the train, and that made them surprisingly polite. Or at least decently enough.
The best part about them is that, thus far. None had broken down; was that a property they had as digimons, or rather... something special about them? She wasn't sure, only knew that if trains in the Human World were half as good, they probably would've saved her a lot of stress, instead of adding to it!
Her line of thought was suddenly interrupted when a bumping sound was heard from under the Trailmon. A loud bumping sound. "I just jinxed it, didn't I?" She whispered mostly to herself; not even ten seconds afterward, the digimon had completely stopped.
"We request for all the passengers to step down. Another Trailmon should arrive at this place in... an hour or so." Now, an audible groan escaped Amelie's lips. One hour? This definitely was throwing a wrench in the works, at least regarding her. But there wasn't anything she could do about it...
So, she stepped the Trailmon while sighing. Maybe... she'd be better off finding her own way to get to Terminus. That could... take her less time? The bad side: she didn't know where the heck she was, sides this place looking oddly like a swampland.
Just her luck.

"Aaaah..." The vulpine beast let out in a pleased sigh, her paws resting on her small tummy as she gazed out of the speedy Trailmon's window to enjoy the view. As much as flying with Vertigo or by herself was an amazing experience, it had been serenity and solitary tranquility Cion desired after many strenuous mission for PROFIT. Not that her life was not one of luxury, especially when considering what Colin's Blimpmon had to offer, but it were often the little things that she enjoyed more, such as a couple of day of hiking and savoring nature. Not needing anything else but a black backpack... it had been a pleasant short venture, yet it was time to return home.
Wait, what was this bumping sound? With the silver fennec's ears peaking, she noted that the living means of transportation had abruptly stopped in its tracks. Listening to the announcement, minor frustration crept into her spirit, for she had anticipated the plain fare she intended to cook for herself and those dearly beloved who were present. Now everyone had to wait longer to relish her culinary art, which of course was a great shame indeed. However, it seemed there was not a lot she could do about it, for she was not a train engineer.
Leaving the Trailmon just like all the other users, though there were really not lots of them, Cion tilted her head upwards to behold the radiant, sunny sky. Such wonderful weather, comfortable temperatures of around 20°C, and the passengers were stuck in this swamp-esque outback. The sentient, diminutive fox could always merely fly way if she desired so, but unfortunately she did not really feel like it. Sighing, she lolloped past the crowd awaiting the arrival of a new Trailmon, eventually spotting the only human present.
"Excuse me, miss?" She requested the pretty, young woman's attention, looking upwards for the pretty lady was almost two and a half times as big as her. Straightening her short, green scarf which resided on her fluffy, white pelt around her neck, the adorable beast kept her tail from swaying too much, since it was often with grace that she carried herself. The sole exception was when she was among treasured companions - among which she relaxed and showed her... coltish side. "Do you happen to have a clock on you? If yes, would you kindly tell me what time it is?" She asked, her voice akin to a childlike girl with similar ardor.

Carrie smiled as she finally got some time to relax again. With the finals coming up and her parents beginning to ask questions about why she was up so late, where she was going so long, what was happening to her eyes... it was just nice to get out of there and go somewhere she could let Gotsumon do what she wanted without too much worry. Carrie had just gotten on a trailmon and let gotsumon tell her when she wanted off. Once they got there she'd just doze off in her head while Gotsu- What was that rumbling? She looked up to the speaker, annoyed as it informed her of the news. She looked outside to find a bubbling, murky swamp. "Great..." She took a few breaths and waited a little bit so the crowd would go past her before finally leaving the trailmon. She sighed thankfully however, when she spotted a familiar face. She walked up behind her as she talked to a strange digimon. "Uh, excuse me?" She asked, politely. "Amelie?" She didn't want to risk embarrassing herself by mistaking someone for a friend... again.

Well... at the very least Amelie knew she wasn't alone at being somewhat unhappy at the moment; she could hear some of the groans coming from a nearby group of digimons, and was sure that at least some more would follow soon enough.
Yet, remaining glum for a situation that would be solved eventually wouldn't make things better, and even if this looked like a swamp of sorts, at least there weren't any mosquitoes in the Digital World. That much was a pretty big relief; now she just had to keep thinking positively.
Eventually, her thoughts would be interrupted by the words of a small vulpine digimon. Pretty cute, if she could say. "The time? Give me a second..." She went through the motions of getting her D-Terminal out and checking the time. Huh, it was still pretty early. "It's... three PM. Hope the delay isn't throwing a wrench in your plans. A bit of a bummer."
The conversation didn't go for long for long, though! Soon enough, an old friendly acquaintance of hers made its appearance. "Hey, Catherine!" Amelie waved at her amicably, not having expected to find her in this place, of all things. But, considering how their last outing went, it wasn't all that weird! "How've you been? Hopefully well... at least when not taking into account what just happened."

Glad that the dark-haired girl complied with her request without any hassle, Cion patiently waited while Amelie took out her D-Terminal to check the time. So... it was 3 pm, which meant that the silver fennec still had plenty of time to reach Terminus and prepare dinner for those she held dear. Anyhow, to say the delay was not bothering her at all would be a lie, which was why it was not a sentiment she uttered as a response to the young lady's comments. "Not, not much, but it's quite a bummer indeed. Nevertheless, thank you miss." The vulpine digimon answered, bowing to Amelie out of grateful suavity.
To Cion's surprise another juvenile, female human entered the scene who apparently knew the person who had helped the small critter on an intimate basis. Not wishing to be in the way of any joyful reunion, the ancient sentinel quietly took a couple of hops away from both the duo and the sentient machine who served as a dysfunctional method of transportation. No longer surrounded by the crowd of people, she calmly put her backpack down onto the ground and rummaged through it.
After a few seconds, she pulled a package of beef jerky out of it and started to gentle nibble on a few of the many delicious, spicy strips. If her journey was bound to be physically strenuous then it was only natural to power up through exquisite junk food.

"It's good to see you again Amelie!" She hugged her companion. "I've been busy with classes and my parents want me to look for a job and gotsumon's been antsy so..." She let go and backed up. "Sorry, didn't mean to get so forward..." She bowed. "It's just been a little while... Who's this?" She turned to look at the fluffy wolf... ferret... cat... thing. She bowed again and introduced herself. "Hello, I'm Carrie." One of her eyes began to glow yellow as gotsumon "woke up" and looked around as Carrie stood up straight once more.
"Huh? Wha-?" Gotsumon's voice yawned and took some control of Carrie's body to itch herself in a rather... unfeminine manner. "What's up?" Carrie frowned then turned to the digimon. "Sorry about that, that's just Gotsumon... she uh... tends to take over from time to time." She explained to the both of them.

Amy gave a small smile to the digimon, mostly pleased at how graciously she expressed her gratitude. "It's not a big deal, really! I'm glad I was able to help."
However, Catherine soon enough managed to distract the teenager from any interaction with her newest acquaintance; enveloping her in a warm hug, Amelie found herself a little... surprised. She didn't know how prone to be affectionate she was, but eventually managed to return it, even if it was a bit short lived since she backed up almost right away. "Good to know your life is going well, even though working and studying at the same time can be quite harsh. Hope that goes well, too!"
She waved in a dismissive way at her apology. "No need to be, sorry. It's fine! And yeah, it's been a bit of a while..." And that's when the brunette remembered that she didn't even know the name of the digimon who had just asked her the time. That was a bit... thoughtless of her, wasn't it? It wasn't like she knew her name either, so... she approached her right away, with the intent of making a new friend today. Or at least try to.
"And I'm Amelie. Pleased to meet you! Sorry for not introducing myself earlier; Catherine kinda caught me off-guard."
Being somewhat used at Gotsumon's antics, the teenager decided to ignore the intruding digimon for now. Honestly, and especially since the last time they've seen each other, she preferred to not deal with her at all.

With a plastic bag of beef jerky at hand, Cion put her black backpack on and intended to formulate a plan on how to return to Terminus in due time. However, to her surprise, those two strangers she had encountered mere moments ago had displayed more interest into her. Charmed by such courtesy, the silver fennec turned to them with her trademark rapt smile and an unwound yet graceful stance. Bowing to Carrie as well, a sense of great fortune filled her soul with glee as she addressed both young maidens. "Pleased to meet the two of you, Amelie and Carrie. I'm Cion."
As always, the tiny sentinel uttered these words without any hesitation, her bestial side showing itself in her nearly unbreakable sense of joy and zest for life. Still she got briefly bamboozled by a spirit within the black-haired which took over for a few seconds, but out of comity she did not press the matter further. "No harms done." She purposefully downplayed the severity of the situation at hand. After all, she did not comprehend the influence of a ghost assuming direct control over a wielder, but it at least appeared to be in mutual good faith.
As for Amy, the small fox obviously held no grudge for something as unimportant as those who were strangers to each other not properly introducing themselves. "No trouble whatsoever. I myself didn't want to be in the way of your reunion." Cion explained calmly, motioning his body back and worth since she was nonetheless eager to get a move on. Didn't want to leave little Logan hungry! Speaking of which, she stretched out her arm to offer her new friends some of her food. "Beef jerky anyone?"

"Uh... sure, I can have some jerky." Carrie smiled and took a piece, taking a few bites to be polite. "How long should we expect to be here...? I don't even recall seeing this place on the map..." She confesses, looking around. "But that doesn't make sense, how would that even work?"
Her eye turns yellow again as Gotsumon took over, "Oh man, what a nap... hey Amy, how's it been?" The eyes turned to look at the fox-esque digimon. "Oh, hey." She began petting him, ignoring Carrie's internal chiding. "Huh?" She looks at her hands. "Right, I forget humans can feel things... I'm Gotsumon." The digimon, even while possessing the body of a small child, had a grip like a body builder as she shook the fox's paw. "I don't think I'll get used to your human's five fingers... like, what's wrong with 3, huh? You're just getting greedy kinda... sorry, still got a bunch of cobwebs. I heard your name, Leon. What're you doing out here?"

This wasn't the most usual way of meeting new beings, but then again... everything was done the usual way when it came to Catherine. In any case, Cion seemed to be a pretty pleasant individual, and somebody Amelie was glad to know. Who knew, maybe there was a new friend in front of her and they just hadn't realized!
"Oh, no. You weren't bothering, at all!" The brunette added, pretty sure the fox-like digimon had been the most pleasant digimon she had faced in... a pretty long time. Maybe since Rinji, actually! "Running into an old friend shouldn't dismiss the possibility of making a new one, don't you think? That'd be a shame, in my opinion." Her thoughts were confirmed right away; Cion invited them some food, the teenager graciously accepting some of the spicy strips and immediately munching on one.
Once finished with the first, she smiled. "They are pretty good! Where did you get them? I know for sure I need to pack better while traveling through this place. One never knows what might happen."
For example, a spirit could take hold of her friend's body, showing her annoying and mostly pointless side right away. "Hey there Gotsumon. Long time no see." Yup, and simple greeting, and probably not much else; if anything, she didn't support the digimon snatching Catherine's body when she pleased. "Been pretty well. How about you? Have you been nice to Catherine as of late?"
She probably knew the answer to that question, and decided to remain silent as the spirit complained about... what sounded like inane stuff in her mind. Cion would probably have a hard time not realizing Amy wasn't a fan of Gotsumon.

It was with a nervous grin that Cion beheld whatever in the digital world was going on with Carrie and her spirit. It was obvious that their relationship was quite special, especially in regards on how awkward it was for bystanders. The silver fennec was naturally tolerant towards such idiosyncrasies, but to say that it was charming this time was a lie. Hence she decided to remain silent as to not offend her new acquaintance and her other half, certain that they were still in the process of maturing and leaning to co-exist. Sometimes, a saint's patience was necessary for the best results...
Sighing quietly, a gentle smile returned to her muzzle upon seeing the two young ladies gladly take her offer that consisted of delicious, spicy beef jerky. The key to everyone's heart could be through their stomachs after all, for there were few who did not savor hearty food and snacks. The only person the tiny fox knew who did not was D, but he was so or so in a league of his own. Shaking her head as to let go off her nostalgia, she carefully listened to what Amelie said, delighted by what the already sagacious maiden told her.
"I wholeheartedly agree!" Cion pronounced her approval without hesitation, happy to know someone as pleasant as Amy as a friend. As for the ancient warden's little offer and the question that arose from it, it barely took her a second or two to formulate a confident response. "Local marts of Terminus. They have everything one can imagine." She explained, not knowing what else to add for it was simply how things were. Certainly other nation-states had their own market squares as well, but she was honestly not familiar with them. For a voyager, she lacked some general knowledge in that regard.

"Eh, fine, fine... wish she'd just quit school though." Gotsumon moaned. "I can't take another two years of equations and mixtures and oh my gosh, should I move into the dorm or will my parents get mad at me for doing that? and uuuuugh... at least she promised to take me to the Training Grounds on the weekends from now on... speaking of which, we're running late." Gotsumon began walking away from the two. "Come on, maybe I'll let you two fight me when we get there."
[Wait, maybe we should just wait for the trailmon, we've never been around here before...] Carrie's voice mumbled in her head. "Pfft, it's a swamp. What on earth could be more dangerous than me?" She asked, to an outsider this would appear to be just her talking to herself. [Aren't there snakes and gator digimon?] Carrie asked. "Probably, but I just need to swipe and we'll be made of rocks and invulnerable." [That's not what invulnerable means...]
"You two coming or what? I'd appreciate fluffy tagging along if he keeps the food coming." Gotsumon ignored Carrie. [We could get hurt!] "You'll get hurt... I can digivolve right now if you're really THAT worried." "Do that and I have no control!" Carrie said, her feet stopping and turning around. Her eyes were back to normal and she re-approached Amelie, she looked exhausted. "I don't think I can take Gotsumon much longer, Amelie. This is gonna reach a boiling point unless we do something. I can't even talk about her without her butting in. Why am I the spirit of metal!?" She looked ready to cry now. She turned to Cion. "Sorry you had to meet me like this..."

That answer had been a bit expected, hadn't it been? Given that Amelie herself hadn't been in Terminus all that much, she hadn't had the opportunity to go window shopping, but given that the city was enormous, it didn't come as a surprise to her. The brunette would have to check out that... later! It wasn't like she could check it out now, anyway.
"Alright, I'll keep it in mind! Thanks for telling me, Cion." After the mental note was made, the teenager couldn't but look at... Gotsumon. Well, Gotsumon using Carrie's body; looking at her talking made her silently thank that her spirits weren't as annoying as the rocky lady was.
"She's not dropping out of school, you know? No matter how hard you try, chances are she won't abandon something she likes to do." No point in being roundabout regarding this topic; and if anything, it was one of the qualities she disliked about Gotsumon the most. The whole deal about walking towards the training ground in order to fight her was weird, but not nearly as obnoxious.
Amy looked at Cion a bit awkwardly after the conversation. Getting down to her level, she began to whisper into her ear. "Sorry, you have to witness this. I feel like I just... have to take care of this when her spirits act up, you know? It's a pity our conversation has to be cut short."
Once that was dealt with, she stood up and gazed at Catherine/Gotsumon, before following after them. "Sure, let's go there. You don't know how much I'm looking forward to sparring with you." Right now, her tone was dripping with sarcasm. Maybe there was a way to extract a spirit or something? The brunette would be really thankful if she could find out...

"No problem." Cion calmly responded to Amelie, always happy to help a new acquaintance with such trivial matters. However, the same ease of mind did not persist upon seeing whatever in the digital world was going on with Carrie and her spirit. It was clear that they were struggling for control, yet it was in thus bizarrely comical way that left the silver fennec utterly bewildered. Quitting school - trash talking - training grounds - internal dialogues.. and then an apology when the girl overpowered the Gotsumon again.
"Uuuuuh..." Was all the otherwise often graceful and verbose digimon managed to utter. With her ears arched, eyes widened, a single eyebrow raised towards the sky and her muzzle's jaw figuratively fusing with the solid earth beneath their feet, bafflement enshrouding any sympathy and understanding. She was neither angry nor sad due to this charade, just... confused. Scratching her furry chin, the Arniomon simply did not know what to say in response to what she had beheld. It was not her desire to belittle the young woman or display contumely, but her brain was unable to process this outlandish occurrence.
Thankfully, Amy stepped in and facing the self-confident lady eye to eye sufficed to pull Cion back into reality. Shaking her head, the tiny fox listened quietly and in the end nodded, saddened as well by the fact that their delightful banter had been cut short by someone rather impudent. "Aye. I get it, and yes it's a pity." She stated in whispers, watching as the fair maiden got on her feet to properly attend her established friend.
Uncertain if they were leaving for the one bearing an unstable specter was indecisive herself, the restrained ascendant put her bag of beef jerky into her backpack and sighed. So much for getting to meet new acquaintances. Disappointing, that such was life at times. Pulling quite a fancy, black smartphone out of her rucksack, she silently utilized it in a way that appeared to be writing messages.

"That does it!" Gotsumon took over again, Carrie's eyes going full yellow. "You want to fight, you want to talk down about me when I'm right in front of you, you want to openly defy a war vet, fine!" She took off Carrie's bag and threw it into the mud, probably ruining a bunch of her books. Then, she slapped Amelie right across the jaw. Her hand wasn't made of rocks anymore but the speed and angle she swung at made it feel like it.
"But you gotta EARN that right, especially when talking about what's right for my human!" She cracked Carrie's knuckles. "Let's make it interesting too, hmm? I win, you aren't Carrie's best friend anymore. You win, I let her finish her stupid college education! Fuzzy over there can be the ref!" Gotsumon's obnoxious smoker's voice had grown even angrier. "All that damned school ever did was make Carrie into a skittish, cowardly little girl who's afraid to do anything wrong! She's weak, she's quiet, she's not even a real person anymore!"
Gotsumon ignored Carrie's internal pleas. The train broke, she had to deal with Carrie's wining for two years (nothing positive or negative seemed to get through to this girl!), those stupid voices in Carrie's head kept hounding the both of them, and now some kid who's known her for two months is gonna tell her what boundaries she can and cannot cross? She just wanted to fight again, and now, now she was going to get her wish, whether any of these three liked it or not.
