[Mission] Dude, Where's My Swords? (Hiroyo|Yin & Yang|Wren)

Flyers were posted all over town, plastering every surface legally allowed to have flyers on them. These were hand-written in red ink, and were obviously of an urgent nature. Unfortunately, they appeared to be written using one's feet while in an earthquake. About an hour later, they were replaced by typed up flyers with the same urgency but with much clearer intentions Looking For:
Somebody to find my Stolen Swords
These are very important to me. Please help. They were stolen from me and I need them back please
Meet me at my Junk Shop
-Chirpy
Attached to some of the flyers were maps to the Junk Shop, along with advertisements for it. If one were to follow the directions, they would come across a very humble building. One made of bricks, one wooden door, no windows, a tin roof, a very basic sign reading "Junk Shop", and a feeling of intense, dark anger. A metaphorical cloud of thick dark brooding intimidating rage surrounds the building. Does anyone dare go in?

Carefully a cloaked figure reached out with a red taloned foot to pluck one of the flyers from a nearby pole. Turning it this way and that they slowly puzzled out the words on the page with narrowed blue eyes as they deciphered the digicode. Their familiarity with the language growing with each passing day though they were pleased to find they understood the wanted poster in it's entirety. Someone had stolen some swords, the original owner wanted them back, they were likely willing to pay and bits were bits in the long run.
Technically Aster had told her to stay out of trouble while he was stocking up their supplies, but the flyer looked like a pretty quick an easy job for someone with wings and eyes like herself. Thus carefully tucking the poster into the pouch on her belt the Harpymon pushed the cloak back enough to free her wings as she took flight. It wasn't far thankfully to where the 'junk' shop was located from where she'd found the flyer, but as Wren alighted on a fence across from the rather haphazard looking building she found herself pausing. The grim aura that surrounded the shop giving even passer-bys on the street pause even more so a Digimon looking to actually go in the shop. The fact it lacked windows which made easy escape routes for the Harpymon certainly didn't endear it to her further as she hopped down from the fence and padded up to the door. Gathering her courage Wren tucked her wings and shouldered the entry open before slipping inside in a quick flutter of feathers and fabric.
"Hello?" Wren called out in greeting. "I'm here about your flyer."

A human and two bugs came to a stop in front of the pawn shop. The human's red hair stuck out from under her ball cap, and she was glancing nervously from the map in her hands to the building itself. She looked pale beneath her tan, and was clearly reconsidering what the small group had set out to do.
"You know maybe, maybe we should rethink this." Hiroyo said as she took in the storefront. There was a small quiver to her voice, faint but still there. Roger was quiet, his head tilted in interest as his antenna flicked back and forth energetically as if trying to pick up whatever was causing the human's discomfort. Morgan snorted and landed on the ground in front of her.
"We cannot afford to pass this opportunity up, regardless of our own feelings on the decor." He said as he crawled to the door. He paused with his claw on the handle and looked over his shoulder at her with a disappointed look. He was quick to giver her a rather ghastly reminder. "Several million bits."
Roger snickered, his beak clacking noisily as he spoke. "Yeah, Hi-ro-yo~~! Maybe you'll stop taking train rides from virtual strangers now!" He readjusted his position across her shoulders. One could almost believe he was encouraging her if it wasn't for the snide tone he took. "So put your game face on and let's go!"
The woman groaned loudly but squared her shoulders. She really didn't want to do this, but it seemed she didn't have much of a choice! She tried to psyche herself up as she straightened her t-shirt and shorts. After tucking a few stray strands of hair under her ball cap she plastered a smile on her face and followed Morgan inside. Her heartbeat was loud in her ears. "Hello! We're here about finding some swords?"

"Swords Dear brother."
"Worthwhile to one, worthless to another Dear sister."
Most certainly the two had come across a flyer on the edge of the train station. Uncertain and confused for a moment as to why someone would of course be looking for their swords when they could simply just make some new ones. But then there was that personal level. Yin clanked her chains against their breastplate and turned to look at her brother whom was currently going over the flyer again. With a frown he'd look at her and shrug.
"Shall we then? Find these tools of murder?"
"A contact once is a fool, a contact twice is a tool."
"So we help not hinder?"
"There would be no benifit to hinder them."
The twins trotted off towards the location that the flyer spoke of. A junk shop ran by a mon named Chirpy. Sure they'd have to ask for directions a few times [likely getting a strange look or two considering their quirks] but eventually they would of course make it to the shop. By the looks of it however there were a few people there already. The twins exchanged a quick look and trotted forward. Yang was the one to pull open the door; his chains clanking against his sister's as she passed him by.
"A Flyer we read."
"A helping hand we give."
They both stopped in their tracks however as they counted not one, not two, not three.. But four other individuals here. All of them in the entry of this junk shop. They'd exchange looks again and blink. They weren't expecting others to actually come with interest of this flyer. A sword or two didn't seem interesting to them most certainly; it was the information that they could gleam instead. They were doing this more for the future favors then anything.
"Late perhaps?"
"Others take what was already given?"
"Blades a plenty Dear brother."
"One for another Dear sister."

When the door to the Junk Shop was opened, the first thing that one would notice is an oppressive wave of dark, cold, mopey rage. A mix of calm killing intent and self-pity filled the air.
The second thing anyone would notice is the store. Within the darkly lit shop were rows and rows of tables covered in pretty much anything and everything non-perishable that one could buy. Televisions, guitars, weapons, toys, and things that could not even be identified were spread across them. It was obvious that some of these had been damaged or destroyed at one point, but the repairs were almost as perfect as new.
The counter at the end of the shop seemed vacant. However, a figure slowly rises from beneath it. First a sharp purple beak breaks over the horizon of the desk. Then the Digimon lowers his head, allowing his red eyes filled with rage to spy the large group. He keeps rising, his armored body and red arms tensed. With a flourish, he opens his crow-like wings. "What do you want," he growls slowly. "If you are looking to buy somethin'... everythin' is ten percent off marked prices."
When everyone lets him know they are here about missing swords, his entire demeanor changes. His eyes light up as a silly grin overtakes his scowling face. "You are? That's great! The name's Chirpy, nice to meet ya! I didn't expect such a good turn-out! It... it really brings a tear to my eye to see so many Digimon willin' to take such a mission." His moist sparkly eyes show that he isn't being sarcastic.
"So." Chirpy places his elbows on his counter and begins explaining. "Ya see, I've grown quite attached to my swords. Unfortunately, only fig'ratively, as someone stole them. If I were attached to them, they'd have to steal me too, but I digress. I saw it happen when half-asleep and in the dark, so I didn't get the best look at them, but I did get a gen'ral idea of what they look like. Oh, anyone care for some popcorn? Or maybe you'd like to look around?"

"I think whatever details you have on the thief would be most pertinent at the moment. Since the longer we digress the further away they get." Wren murmured the Harpymon stepping to the side as she tucked her wings closer about herself so as to not knock anything off the shelves and make room for the other four. Slinking away from the group, the human especially the winged digimon's blue eyes glanced over her 'partners' for the mission before returning to their employer himself.
"If you could describe what the swords look like and what you were able to see of the culprit and how they escaped that would let us begin looking for clues as well as narrowing down suspects." She added wondering if there was any other way in or out of the shop beyond just the front door. She'd need to circle the building to see how she would have gone about breaking, entering, and escaping. Especially with unwieldy weapons. Even Aster for as skilled as he was with his machine gun occasionally got hung up on things with it and she didn't doubt that someone unfamiliar with weapons might do the same in a hurry.

Hiroyo and the bugs were quick to scoot out of the way of the door when the terrible twisted mockeries of the Guilmon form walked in. The human's face twisted in cross of horror and disgust because it looked a lot like the armor they wore was bolted to their bodies not worn the way normal things had armor. It looked painful and she visibly shuddered at the sight.
Roger quietly clacked his beak in her ear. He was quick to figure out the new arrivals had set off her reaction but they seemed fine to him. Just typical data structures shaped like creatures of some sort. Morgan really didn't care, he was more interested in the Harpymon that was asking some very intelligent questions.
At least the shop keep was better to look at for Hiroyo's delicate sensibilites. Well, not at first maybe but she chalked up the unease in the area to him being down about not having his swords. Especially with how quickly he perked up! She was quick to trust him after that, grinning at him in a friendly way before she stepped up to the counter to listen better. She shot a quick glance at Harpymon, giving the bird a quick nod and friendly smile before she turned her attention back to the big black bird-man behind the counter. "You don't mind if we look around a little before running off, right? Have you uh-disturbed the scene much?"
Sadly Hiroyo didn't think she was going to be of much use, all she knew about detective work came from dramas after all!

"We are not here for items."
"We're here to find items Dear Sister."
"Right right, So perhaps we are here for Items. But they wouldn't be here."
"Of course Of course..."
Yin and Yang blinked as the digimon went from depressed, somewhat sullen demeanor to that of someone with abject joy in their eyes and a silly grin on their face. They'd exchange a look before tilting their heads at one another; they'd just quickly turn their head to look at Chirpy.
Yin was content to listen to the digimon talk for a few moments while Yang not only sniffed the others but he circled around one or two of them. Yin after a few moments turned to watch her brother letting out a small but amused sigh.
"Look around perhaps, find clues."
"We then find the thief, maybe they make a return trip?"
"That'd be foolish Dear brother."
"Fools often forget simpler things."
The twins shared a glance before taking a seat near the counter, staring quietly and contently at the owner of this dear shop. They tilted their heads either way and stared at Chirpy; a mix of curiosity and desire plain on their armored faces.
"Harpymon asks good questions."
"Not much we can add to that-"
"Foolish brother. Make of swords, size of swords, swords swords swords."
"Foolish brother indeed... Two? Three? How many? How old?

Everyone appeared more interested in the mission than in snacks and small-talk. Chirpy clears his throat. "Ahem... yes, sorry. I didn' mean to stall, I just want to be a gracious host since you all are bein' so helpful. Now, let's start at the beginnin'."
He motions for everyone to step behind the counter, then points at the floor. There was a trap door behind the counter! "This down there is my home," he explains proudly. "Not much, but I always get to be at my pride and joy, the junk shop." He then shakes his head dejectedly. "I was downstairs, asleep when I heard a noise. My shop was closed, ya see, so nobo'y should've been up here."
The tengu begins pacing back and forth, grumbling. "How could I have missed them? Why was I too slow? I only caught a glance of them runnin' out the door. About my height, human shaped, with black wings. They were dressed in black so I couldn't really see too much of what they looked like."
Chirpy pulls a huge plaque off the wall. It was mostly covered in dust, except for clean spots that form a sillouhette of two swords. "This is where my prized swords were. They were golden, my Irakata... but they weren't gold. They are of sentimental value, not real value, so I don' know why the thief took them.... unless he thought they WERE gold! BAHAHAHA, what an idiot!"
If one were to search for clues, there were a few things that stood out. Some of the goods were knocked over, there were black feathers - probably belonging to Chirpy - and there was a ripped piece of black fabric that might hold a clue if examined.

"Humanoid shaped with black wings wearing a cloak. Well that doesn't narrow it down by much, but it does help. Swords that big, specially gold colored ones are going to be hard to hide. Though we can at least rule out most beast type digimon." Wren murmured padding over to the front door as she glanced around brushing aside some of the feathers after inspecting them to ensure they were in fact Chirpy's and not their mysterious thief's. Until she spied a bit of fabric caught on a rough part of one of the wooden shelves. The Thief having likely snagged his cloak on it as he passed. Prying it loose with one talon she inspected it closely before sniffing it.
"Can anyone here track by scent? Otherwise I'm going to take to check outside the shop for any clues before taking to the sky and setting up a search coordinate circling further and further outwards from the shop." The Harpymon explained cracking the door open as she peered around outside once more looking for any possible camera's or clues. Perhaps she could inquire with the other shops nearby to see if any of them had been up and seen anything or if there was any soft earth or a place the suspect might have stepped leaving tracks.

"Well I don't know about anyone else but I'd like snacks!" Roger declared. Hiroyo rolled her eyes at his childish tone then perked up. If the thief went straight for the swords then maybe they had been in the shop before! It might be a long shot, but maybe they had bought something previously or scoped the shop out or something.
Also she really didn't want Chirpy to feel bad.
"Its okay sir, actually I wouldn't mind something to nibble on while talking with you about recent visitors to your store. Specifically about anyone who was interested in purchasing those swords." She said with a smile. The bird-like girl digimon came up with a good suggestion, and even found a couple clues. Hiroyo picked up one of the black feathers herself to run it between her fingers. Those digimon twins were odd...but maybe they could sniff out the prey?
"Hey looking from the air is a great idea! Morgan, why don't you go with her?" She suggested to the Fanbeemon, raising an eyebrow at him expectantly. He could act as a back up pair of eyes, and also come back to alert Hiroyo and Roger if anything came up. "Roger and I will stay here with Chirpy for the moment. Even if the robber wasn't a previous client, he might have been connected to them!"
Morgan narrowed his eyes at her than gave a small nod. The plan was sounder than most of Hiroyo's, and it meant that in the case of something being discovered he could rush back to fetch the two from the store. "This sounds reasonable." He turned his head to Wren and the twins, his tone even. "If you do not mind me tagging along that is. I will not be much assistance in a direct fight but I can still provide another pair of eyes and act as messenger."

The clues that the twins and the others were given were quite simple. There was an array of information that they were graced with along with some sizeable clues in the place.
The first being that the swords were fairly large, golden and would likely be not dust covered like the stand that they had been pulled from. Unless of course the theif wasn't all too smart. The twins shhared a look along with giving the bird woman a look as well. They were quick to pad after them all silence of course coming to them quicker than expected.
Perhaps it was a tad eerie how quickly they switched gears? Or perhaps this was them just getting onto the job?
They'd look around cautiously and lean to look down at the fabric along with the feathers. It was odd really at least to the twins; they'd share another glance and look up at Wren.
"Smell."
"Track."
"Not great, but not bad either."
"Bloodhounds we are not. A city this is. Scent will be pointless."
"Take flight pretty bird; we will scavenge what we can. Two sets better than one."
"We'll look around outside. Maybe catch again?"
The twins were quick to go outside even going so far to push past the harpymon; not violently or anything but they weren't exactly sure how to address the human and their partners. They kept giving them curious glances and even one of them just sat there staring for a good minute or so at hiroyo before getting smacked on the back of the head by the other...

Upon both Roger and Hiroyo accepting his offer, Chirpy opens the trap door and rushes downstairs. He quickly returns with two bags of hot buttery popcorn. "Here ya go," he says as he hands them over. "Now... where was I? Oh- right! Customers. I had a couple int'rested customers askin' about the swords. There was a Kotemon who wanted to buy them but politely accepted they weren't for sale. Had a Patamon browsin', bought a yoyo. Then there was a Candlemon, rude little guy, threatened to burn somethin' if I ripped him off before he even looked for anythin'. Bought a nice coat, though it didn't quite fit him. Seemed happy afterwards though, and apologized. Maybe he wasn' so bad."
If Roger and Hiroyo were going to stay behind, Chirpy was darned sure to be a gracious host! "Would ya like to go downstairs and sit down, or I could bring up some chairs. You all are real lifesavers. Well... my life ain't in danger as far as I know, but those swords were important to me, practically a major part of my life."

Stepping aside the Harpymon let the armored guilmon twins slip past her with a nod motioning with one wing to the other shops lining the street. "If you will ask around and see if anyone spotted anything I'll take to the air and set up a search quadrant." Wren suggest alighting on the fence she'd landed on before with a light hop and a flutter of wings before she bunched her legs and threw herself into the air. Rising with thankfully relative ease as she slowly circled the shop looking for any buildings or areas that might make good hiding spots for a would be thief to stash themselves and the swords as she went.
Likewise there was a chance they'd be trying to hide the swords under their cloak. Leaving the Harpymon likewise scanning the crowds for any suspicious looking winged humanoid digimon wearing a cloak and some sort of blue clothing. It wasn't much to search on, but it was a start. If the thief was still on the move Wren was bound to spot them. If they weren't she'd start picking off boltholes. Hopefully the human would keep their employer calm and busy and get any details out of them that Chirpy might have unknowingly overlooked as unimportant.
- Eagle Eyes: The Digimon has amazing eyesight able to pick out minute details as far off as five miles without any degeneration in the quality of their vision with their eyes acting like inbuilt jewelers loupes for close up items and objects. Passive.

"It sounds like you had quite a few customers in here!" Hiroyo said politely. Internally she wanted to cry, none of those mons were big enough to cart off the swords! Her limited well of ideas about how to solve this crime was almost tapped out too. Hiroyo played absently with the feather she had picked up as she listened to Chirpy talk about the previous customers. She drew her fingers up and down the quill, a few pieces of fluff getting knocked loose by her handling and drifting further to the ground.
"Let me see that." Hiroyo blinked as Morgan suddenly hovered in front of her face, his eyes locked on hers as he extended his grasping claw towards the feather. He looked about as serious as he always did. The human snapped out of her daze and handed it over with a little shrug. There were plenty more feathers she could mess with after all.
"Heeey Hiroyo~ I think you've got a fan~" Roger whispered in her ear. She turned to him with her eyebrows raised. He swayed back and for in amusement before nodding back towards the door and her face immediately fell. "Do you really need me to tell you to be nice?" He mocked.
Hiroyo turned red at that because as much as she wanted to say 'no!', she really had needed it this time. She took a deep breath and turned to where the twins were. She flinched at first when she made eye contact with the staring twin, then gave them a weak smile and a timid wave. Roger clicked his beak and wiggled his antenna in a way that Hiroyo knew meant the worm was smug. A smug bug, if you would.
"Interesting." Morgan lifted his head from his close examination of the feather just in time to see Wren make her way out of the shop. With a sigh he shook his head and then gave his explanation to the remaining people, he'd simply have to catch up with her later. "This feather is not naturally black, it was dyed to look that way. It appears to be that the thief had white wings."
"Ah! Like bird lady that just left? Then we're looking for a digimon that has black wings when it should have white! I know my dye is pretty permanent, but it's possible it used a temporary dye as well." Hiroyo clapped her hands together in delight, pleased at having contributed something useful. Morgan nodded in taciturn approval, leaving the human to beam with pride. It wasn't often that the bee gave out praise!
"Don't think we've solved it just yet, Hiro-dumb! We could also be looking for for someone hidin' their wings." Roger declared, giving Hiroyo's cheek a quick peck. She winced and rubbed her face, her expression looking decidedly more sulky. It was amazing how quickly one twin could tear down what the other built up. "Don't forget it had a cloak! This thief's tryin' ta avoid detection, it's not going to be just walkin' around in the open."
"That might be true while the wings are still dyed...it could be trying to wash the dye out now as we speak, but even temporary dye will linger longer than twenty-four hours. Right, the plan still stands. I'll assist in the search outside while you two remain here." Morgan said, giving a nod to his twin and his tamer. He then turned his attention back to Guilmon-based pair. "I trust we will receive your full cooperation. With Hiroyo and Roger here at the store we can come back to coordinate if something happens." With that the insect would take flight for the door, pausing only a moment to slip out and then begin his own search of the shop itself, looking for more clues or potentially stuck feathers.
"Ah, mister Chirpy! Has anyone come in like that recently?" Hiroyo asked as she turned to the shopkeep. Her face was determined, it was clear she understood the seriousness of the situation. "It might not have been yesterday, it might have been earlier in the week, or even last!"
"If you two got anythin' to contribute fell free to chime in." Roger called to Yin and Yang, re-positioning himself so he could face them while his tail blade fell across Hiroyo's chest.
