[Mission] Dude, Where's My Swords? (Hiroyo|Yin & Yang|Wren)

So many clues were coming together! Someone hiding white wings. Mysterious cloak scraps with a clue hidden on it. Many Digimon that the eagle-eyed Spirit User could see. Perhaps if everyone were to pool their knowledge and clues together, they could solve the mystery.
Alas, it seems as if everyone wanted to go their own separate ways. The twins are on the hunt, but are not heard from again. Harpymon scans the crowds, ready to find any boltholes or suspicious Digimon. Morgan takes to the sky as well. Both Digimon could probably spy a few different happenings. There's a lot of Rookie Digimon in the city that don't fit the description AT ALL - Palmons, Muchomons, a Kotemon that might be the one Chirpy mentioned... There's a Meramon looking down at a pile of ashes, literally and figuratively fuming. There's a Chuumon rummaging through garbage. A large crowd surrounding a presumably preaching Angemon. And a Devimon watching the Angemon from a distance with an odd expression. Could any of these be the suspect?
Meanwhile, Hiroyo and Roger stay behind to talk with Chirpy. "I dunno of anyone like that in the last few days," he admits sadly. "Heck, hardly anyone ever stops by here! The only other customers I remember recently are an Impmon and DemiDevimon coming in together havin an awkward argument of some sort I wanted no part in, and a Palmon lookin for gardenin stuff."

Wren would perch higher up on the edge of one of the buildings as she peered down watching the Angemon and Devimon with interest. Well really she pretended to be watching the Angemon and listening to what he had to say while keeping half an eye on the both of them. The pair each had wings such as the suspect though the feathers of the Angemon were the wrong color as far as she knew and neither had a cape or cloak of sort that she could spy.
Sighing should Wren spot the other flying Digimon she would wave them over with one wing motioning for them to land beside her. "Learn anything interesting?" She would ask with a tilt of her head in a soft whisper. Wondering if the other Digimon had had any more luck then herself giving the two of them a chance to convene before she would return to the store and report witht he others.

"I see." Hiroyo said as she added the named rookies to her list of 'mons that had frequented the shop. She understood why detectives were always shown with notepads now! With so many suspects to keep track of having a physical list to refer to would be really helpful. Luckily she had another head to help her. She turned her head towards the Kunemon on her shoulder wiggled that joint to get his attention. "You keeping track of this?"
"Of course." Roger tossed his head in a way that managed to convey he was rolling his eyes while looking down on her question. He pointed his beak towards the door and wiggled his antenna in his face. "Well Mr. Chirpy I think we should head outside! Thank you for your cooperation."
Hiroyo raised her eyebrows and pressed her lips together but didn't complain, making her way towards the entrance with a wave to the shopkeeper. She was quick to throw a reassurance over her shoulder as she stepped out into the street. "We'll be back when we've recovered those swords!"
Up in the air Morgan hovered in place while he examined the various 'mons going about the street. Wren's approach was acknowledged with a nod but he kept his eyes on the various pedestrians below instead of her. He was quick to jump straight to answering her question, clearly not intending to waste any time. "The feather Hiroyo picked up was dyed black, originally it was white." He gestured in the direction of the Angemon preaching to the crowd then to the Devimon as he spoke. "I see one Digimon that matches that description and another that shows as much interest in him as I am. Could be typical Luminas spawned jealousy, but it could be something else."
The door of the shop below them opening caught his attention and he looked down to watch Hiroyo step into the street with the Kunemon perched upon her shoulder. A slightly annoyed look appeared as Roger pointed her in the direction of the Chuumon. At least if that went poorly he probably wouldn't have to step in. He turned his attention back to Wren since they seemed the two most likely (in his opinion) to get the job done. "Would you like to speak to them together or apart?"
Below on the street Hiroyo made her way carefully towards the Chuumon, stepping quietly on the street so as to avoid startling him. Given how close she might manage to make it before she reached him that might have the opposite effect. "Hello! Are you busy? I've got a couple questions about the area I'd like to ask."

Chirpy's eyes shine with gratitude, worries assuaged by the great job everyone is already doing. "I'm glad I could help ya help," he exclaims happily. "You're all so kind-hearted to help a lowly junk shop owner." He was even more pleased with Hiroyo's confidence in recovering the swords. "Bless your heart, you're a lifesaver."
The black feather was dyed. The cloak fragment had blue fibers on it. There were a number of suspicious Digimon spotted that could be suspects or witnesses. The group had many leads to go on. While the group decides on their course of action, Chirpy holds down the fort. Nobody is going to steal anything on his watch, not again!
Hiroyo and Roger decide to question the Chuumon rummaging through the trash. He didn't seem to notice them at all until they make their presence known. He jumps up and looks around nervously. "I didn't do nothing!" Maybe he was the culprit after all! Probably not, as he follows that up with "the trash can was raided like this before I got here!"

"Ah it's more likely the Angemon then the Devimon then. See his wings are black and batlike. No feathers there at all. I found a scrap of blue cloth as well when I was searching. Not unlike an Angemon's robes. I'm gonna remain here and keep him under observation or see if I can get close enough to see if his wrap is torn." Wren explained quietly as she shifted her gaze back to the Angemon doing her best to appear interested in his speech rather then interested in him as a suspected.
"You're welcome to come with me or if you want to report back to the others what we've found that's good too. I don't see any blades on the guy, but he could have stashed them if he's the thief. I think I'll try to chat up those that I can to see what they know about him." She added in a whisper before leaving her perch with a quick flap of her wings. Gliding down she settled on the fence near the Devimon and talon walked a bit closer to the virus type before motioning casually with her wings at the Angel on the soapbox.
"Friend of yours?" She asked with a tilt of her head.

"I will follow you. It does not appear as if the Angemon will be leaving any time soon." Morgan decided after a moment of consideration. The Fanbeemon was certain he could already guess at the garbage that was being spewed from the soapbox. He did hesitate long enough to glance at the tamer and his twin before following after Wren.
For a moment the Fanbeemon considered landing on the fence, then he decided against it and took up hovering just above the top. He was conspicious, but at least this gave the Devimon an actual reason to be clinging to his fence. He kept quiet and kept his expression neutral. At the moment he was quite content to let Wren take the lead.
"What do ya mean ya didn't do anything?" Roger demanded. He attempted to loom over the Chuumon menacingly, an act that was probably helped by the fact he was currently riding Hiroyo's shoulders like the world's worst scarf. "We just saw ya with your grubby little han-"
"-ands in the trash making sure everyone was sorting their trash properly, right?" Hiroyo broke in with a grin, physically silencing Roger by wrapping her hands around his beak. The Kunemon's antenna thrashed about, a clear sign of his anger. "I didn't realize the Digital World had such strict trash laws like where I'm from! They're always so fussy about making sure the papers are seperated from the non-recycleables. I guess can understerstand since it's a fire hazard, still it must be a very difficult job!"
A big cheerful grin was directed at the Chuumon as the red head removed one of her hands from Roger's beak with a gentle flick against the side of his head. She crouched down in the alleyway so she was more even with the mouse and held out her hand. "Hi, I'm Hiroyo! I'm sure a street-wise 'mon like yourself must be pretty familiar with the area, yeah? Have you seen or heard about anyone suspicious lurking around here last night?"
Apparently she was attempting to put the Chuumon at ease with the obvious excuse she was offering him, or maybe she really did believe what she said? It was hard to tell with her!

Devimon was just as startled by Wren as the Chuumon was by Hiroyo and Roger. "I...um... hey. You startled me! You gotta be careful, I could've attacked you!" Apparently he thought Wren snuck up on him or popped up out of nowhere. He must have really been distracted.
'Friend of yours?' Such an innocuous question, and yet the Devimon reels back and quickly looks away. "W-what? No way! As if he'd ever be friends with m- I mean as if I'd ever be friends with him! Why do you ask such a ridiculous question? I'm just... listening to his speech from over here. To... uh... make sure he doesn't say anything bad about virus types. So far, what he has to say isn't half-bad though. He's not like those 'saints' up at Luminous." ================================================================================== Meanwhile Roger and Hiroyo give the Chuumon the 'good cop bad cop' routine, though probably not on purpose? "Heh... yeah, yeah!" Chuumon quickly agrees with Hiroyo. "That's exactly right! Garbage and recyclables ain't supposed to go in the same bin. You're one smart cookie!"
Chuumon scratches his head, getting garbage on himself as he tries to recall anyone suspicious. "Hm... suspicious... yeah, there was this BlackBiyomon talking to Angemon after one of his preachy things. The angemon seemed downright terrified by it. Said something about not backin' out, that they both needed something. But I wasn't eavesdropping or anything. Just an innocent bystander." He smirks, holding a hand out.

"Why would someone not want to be friends with you? You seem a decent enough guy." Wren asks with a tilt of her head her blue eyes softening slightly at the Devimon's slip up knowing all too well how often Virus types were discriminated against. The fact he thought his companionship was undesirable because of it....it left a little part of her aching reminding her all too much of Aster.
"So what's his speech about? I take it he's not one of those Luminas radicals if you're sticking around to listen to him." She questions even as she settles down a bit more comfortably on the fence seeming content to keep him company for at least the moment. Turning her eyes to the Angemon she glances over his robes looking for any tell-tale tears with her sharp avian gaze. The blue had been about the right shade for the angelic digimon's draping sashes.
Wren Uses: - Eagle Eyes: The Digimon has amazing eyesight able to pick out minute details as far off as five miles without any degeneration in the quality of their vision with their eyes acting like inbuilt jewelers loupes for close up items and objects. Passive.

"You sound like you would like your friendship status to change." Morgan said, his voice as dry as a desert. He flipped his wings dismissively and turned his attention from the Devimon to the Angemon. It was clear he didn't think highly of the devil. "How noble of you, to ensure he is not speaking poorly of our kind."
Despite the way he was acting the Fanbeemon was rather interested in the Angemon's speech if he wasn't acting like the typical Luminas emissary. He was still content to let Wren lead, she was asking all the questions that had immediately sprung to his mind anyways.
Hiroyo grinned at the compliment, looking incredibly pleased with herself. She reached up to flip some of her hair over her shoulder and closed her eyes as she nodded. "Well of course! It can be dangerous if it isn't cared for properly."
Roger snorted into her hair. He flipped his antenna in Chuumon's direction. "I'm so sure you weren't doing anything but passing by when you just happened to be walking by. Did yo-Hiroyo what, no."
Hiroyo had reached her hand out when the Chuumon extended his and shook it. When Roger spoke up she let go and frowned at the bug. "Hey, I'm just being polite." She declared while trying to discretely wipe her hand off on her leg because she was 200% sure that handshake had squished with trash juice of unknown composition. She really didn't want to know. "So what did the BlackBiyomon say?"
"We will compensate you," Roger began, his menacing tone back in place. "by not loading your data."
"What, no! I mean, we won't do that but we'll also pay you fairly!" Oh, suddenly Hiroyo understood why Chuumon had stuck out his hand. She very determinedly ignored the loud groan Roger gave from her shoulder. She was doing fine at this investigation stuff! Really!

The Devimon gives an awkward grin at Wren's praise. "Thanks, I suppose.. I tend to get a bad rap, but I try not to be a worthless piece of scum like they expect me to be! You seem pretty good yourself!" It seems he was not used to any forms of compliments, giving or receiving. Morgan's correct assumption about his friendship status puts him right back in that 'protesting too much' stage. "What do you mean by that? I... I don't have a clue what you're talking about. He's an Angemon and I'm a Devimon! We're not supposed to even get along or some junk like that. But..."
He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath in. "That Angemon... doesn't believe that stuff. He wants angels and demons, Vaccines, Datas, and Viruses, to be able to be treated equally as long as they actually aren't 'evil'. If they don't want to hurt others for their gain or destroy and wreck stuff for the heck of it, then nobody should be looked down upon. We're all made of the same stuff or something. He wants to make a temple of peace where anyone who believes in bettering the Digital World can get together, and find out what true 'good' actually is. But... he also doesn't think we should all be weak-willed flimsy pacifists either. We need to be strong, able to fight for what we believe in, not against what others believe in. O-or whatever, I wasn't listening too close, why would I? I just wanna make sure he's not saying bad stuff!"
It seems despite his protests, the Devimon really likes the Angemon and his message. However, perhaps he would be disappointed to find out that Wren found a clue that may or may not link the Angemon to the sword theft. While there were no major tears, she was right in the fibers being the same color, and there was a part on his sash that was a little more worn and threadbare than the others. -------------------------------------------------- The Chuumon holds out his hand for a reward for being a good citizen, only to have Hiroyo grasp it. His smile fades as he freezes, processing this turn of events, but then smiles once more and shakes her hand heartily. "You're a good person, ain't ya? It really is a pleasure to help out!" He flinches at the threat leveled at him by Roger, but then tries to ignore him as Hiroyo seemed to be in charge. "Ya mean it? You're willing to compensate me for my... contribution of informatives? Okay.. so that's pretty much all I heard the BlackBiyomon say, but I heard the Angemon say something about 'that is not right'... then something... 'but I can not-' and something like 's-sorry, I will do it, just do not hurt anyone.' Issat helpful?"

"That sounds like a wonderful goal. Hopefully he'll be able to build his temple someday. You know I bet if you spoke with him he'd be willing to listen to what you say. In fact...I think I'd like to talk with him a little as well." Wren chirped flashing the Devimon a gentle smile as she nodded towards the Angemon. Of course she intended to ask the angel where he'd been last night and get a closer look at him maybe see if there was any lingering dye on his feathers, but the Devimon didn't need to know that.
Besides while she was on a mission right now that didn't mean she was against the idea of unifying Virus, Data, and Vaccine types. Sovereign only knows Aster dealt with enough junk just because he was a virus type. Even if he was a friendly one at that. Ok well friendly might have been overreaching. He wasn't evil though for certain. Eyeing the Angemon Wren would wait for him to finish his speech and some of the crowds to depart before she would make her approach.

"Hmph. Such a viewpoint sounds almost too good to be true. It is a long cry from what certain other groups say." Morgran remarked with a roll of his eyes upwards to indicate said other groups. Or at least indicate where those said groups kept their city. He was intrigued Angemon's speech but stealing swords from pawn shop owners didn't line up at all with the pretty words. The Fanbeemon was willing to consider that perhaps there was something more to look into there, but really he felt it was more likely that this public speaker was hypocrite. At least he hadn't killed anyone.
With a shuffle of his wings Morgan moved to the corner and peeked around the edge. The moment Wren moved in to talk to the Angemon Morgan would follow closely behind. More and more he wanted to hear the Angemon's defense of himself.
"Everyone deserves to be paid for their efforts when they help others! If you wait for me at the pawn shop I'll meet you there. I"ll be reporting back there soon enough." With a firm nod Hiroyo confirmed she intended to pay the Chuumon for his information, and what interesting information that was!
Her eyes grew round as she listened and her breath caught for a moment in her chest. She might not be the most street smart person around but even she could understand that the Angemon had been threatened. Whether he had been threatened into performing the theft or something else had yet to be determined, but it was certainly a good start! Even she could guess what next steps a detective would take! She opened her mouth to speak then stopped as someone else did the talking.
"Where'ss this cat now? What way did they go?" On Hiroyo's shoulder Roger sat up straighter, his antenna held carefully still as he focused on the Chuumon. His voice held the quiver of excitement. He had no further intentions of threatening the Chuumon, unless the rat failed to help out with this further request.

"Noble goal indeed." While the Devimon's voice had a hint of sarcasm, something about it seemed genuine. Maybe it is his eyes, or maybe some subtle body language. "You think he'd listen to me? Guess I'll try later or something, if I feel like it..."
Morgan's approach at talking with Devimon did not go as well as Wren's. "At least he's saying something different than all those other jerks," the demon digimon growls. "When's the last time that an angel used such trickery in a peaceful way? Their trickery is usually about making us virus types seem like the bad guys!"
Meanwhile, Hiroyo and Roger continue their conversation with the Chuumon. After the promise of a reward, Chuumon is even friendlier than ever. "I'll definitely meet you wonderful people back at the pawn shop! Now um... as to where the mean little kitty went... er... I actually don't know. Wait. Hold on... he said something about finding him to the Angemon. I think... maybe it was 'you know where to find me' or 'you know who knows who can find me' or 'it can't be that hard to find me' maybes?"
It was time to confront the Angemon. After the crowd disperses, he spies the bird and the bug approach. He takes a polite bow, and smiles sadly. "How may I help you, my friends? You are late for the sermon, I must apologize. Unless you are here for advice, or perhaps a donation, though I could not accept a donation of Bits." During his bow, one might notice a speckle or two of black on his otherwise pristine white wings.

"Peace friend. He's likely just bitter and resigned to how often we're judged on our type alone. I'm sure they mean nothing ill by it beyond the usual skepticism." Wren explained hoping to soothe some of the Devimon's ire as she reached out one feathered wing to pat him very lightly on the shoulder. Then turning back to the Angemon she settled in to wait.
Thankfully they would not have to wait long as the crowds began to disperse. Giving the Devimon a passing smile Wren fluttered down from the fence half walking half hopping on her clawed feet towards the Angemon her sharp eyes indeed picking out the specks of black upon his feathers. "Ah we hate to bother you, but I'm afraid we're not here for any such things." Wren murmured her sharp eyes taking in the Digimon's face even as she offered him a sympathetic grin.
"You see there was a break in at a local store last night. We'd like to inquire where you were this past evening?" The Harpymon questioned with a tilt of her head looking for any change in the Digimon's face as she brought up the crime.

Well a certain Fanbeemon's attitude hadn't gone ignored, and the result was, well, less than positive. With a quiet, mostly internal sigh Morgan nodded after Wren had finished speaking.
"It's true. I've dealt with those who would use our typing as grounds for our deletion before, it is a tiresome thing. It is hard to believe someone like that actually exists." He admits but there is no apology in his voice. For this he will not say sorry. He will not apologize for the way the words have worn on his soul for so long. In this moment though it is the knowledge that the Devimon has been deceived, the knowledge that those white wings had been stained black to create a crime, but he won't tell the Devimon that.
Morgan may be bitter, but he won't force anyone else to give up on hope.
He follows after Wren when they leave, ignoring the Devimon for the most part. His only concern is his current partner in this investigation. He keeps his attention focused on the target and when Wren lands in front of the Angemon he oh-so-subtly shifts around to behind the angel as if examining all the 'mons around.
Hiroyo's face falls for a moment when the BlackGatomon's expression turns out to be unknown. It looks like this case isn't going to be that easy, and unfortunately shaking down the local trash digger was the only idea she had had. Really it was less of an idea and more of a vague sort of hope. She sighs then lifts her head to smile at the Chuumon. It's obvious she's disappointed but much less obvious is the fact that it isn't him that she's disappointed with. "Well, thank you. We'll meet you back at the shop later and I'll give you your payment then."
Roger of course doesn't care, he has plans of his own. "C'mon, lets go Hiro! We've got a cat to catch!"The Kunemon grabs a bit of her hair in his beak and yanks it in the direction of the main street. She slaps a hand to catch the hair and pull it free with a wince but starts moving that direction.
"But we don't know where the BlackGatomon is!"
"But we know where they're gonna be! Or rather who they're gonna see! AND YOU!" Roger throws over his shoulder to the Chuumon, twisting his head around to look at the mouse. "If you're not at the pawn shop you won't get paid! Remember that!"
Hiroyo pauses as he yells at the Chuumon, her mind too busy going over what he said before that to focus. By the time he's done speaking she's moving again in a hesitating, slow way that makes him groan in impatience. "You mean, we find Angemon we find BlackGatomon?"
"Yes Hiroyo-dumb! They've gotta hand over the swords somehow! Now move!" He demands, digging his feet into her shoulder. It doesn't actually hurt, although Hiroyo swats at him for the name calling regardless, but it does get her moving more surely into the street. She begins examining passing digimon as the worm continues to speak. "That Angemon likes to talk to folks, so we've just gotta find a crowd."
