Paving the Way [Open, Construction Job E]

The prospect of a new home so close to the Village of Beginnings was something Toki greatly appreciated. With how harsh the regions surrounding the Village could be, having a safe haven for newly digivolved Rookies could prove to be a great boon for all Digimon in the long run. Though not all seemed to agree with the new town being build as it cut into the Timberlands somewhat.
To further adjust to his Beast Spirit form, Toki had spirit evolved into Lagosmon to aid in the clearing of debris across the construction sites. He used his abilities for a variety of purposes. The wall from Earthen Bastion and the use of Stalagmite Fortress uprooted tree stumps and tilled the land so it could be paved later for the roads. He paused for a moment when he came across a patch of flowers and gently brushed some of the petals "...we should make a garden here." he mused, mostly to himself. A garden would keep the spirit of the region there and may appease some of those against the idea of the town even being here. Or maybe not, but if there was even a chance that such a gesture could help, he would take it. He looked around for something to mark the area to avoid it being uprooted. After he found a few wooden stakes, he planted some near the flower patch "There we go...hopefully they'll be left alone."
It was difficult to remain in his Ultimate form, so instead of push himself he decided it would be best to revert to his human form. No more unnecessarily pushing himself. He stretched a bit after reverting and took a look around for what he could do as he was. There wasn't much he knew about construction, so he was at a bit of a loss without the strength of his Beast Spirit. For the time being, he figured it would be best to take a break and drink some water before he overworked himself. He sat down next to the flowers and pulled a bottle of water out of his backpack. He took off the cap and took a quick drink before he looked up at the sky. The breeze was nice. This would be a great home down the line. As he took his break, he wondered what he could do next to help with the construction effort. Probably pave more roads or hold things steady, but for the moment he waited for something he could help with.

I know it's been a while but I hope you don't mind me just popping by and taking advantage of this generously open thread!
Coming back home to find out that someone has decided to build an entire town on top of your home tends to come as a shock to the average person. At first, Rinji had been mortified. Angry, even. The trees here had been where he lived.
His frustration had softened when he discovered that it was for Digimon leaving the Village of Beginnings. That had been his exact situation, years ago. If this project would eventually pull through, Digimon just like him would have a place to call home. Comfier than sleeping on a forest floor.
"Here?" He growled, squinting at a very small map. Small for him. He was digivolved to Mukademon for the sake of this task, barely able to control the brooding anger of the form. It was hard to not sound angry in this form, too.
Right now, he was on top of an escarpment, facing a river pouring from cliff. This was where the aqueduct was meant to be built. First, it required clearing the area of trees where the aqueduct would redirect the river to the East where Rosewood was. Or would be.
A foundation had already been laid. What was blocking further construction were trees. Tall, old oaks. A lot of them. He'd definitely want help for this. And for hauling the bricks over that the workers would use. Maybe even helping the workers out by laying the bricks down for them.
I need help for this, he thought. Turning round, he headed back to the main construction area. On the way back, however, he saw a human relaxing next to a primitively fenced off wildflower garden. The human had probably seen or heard him coming too. He wasn't making a point to hide.
"Hello," he started, hoping he wouldn't scare him. Being polite is a good way to show people you're not planning to eat them. "Are you a Spirit User or a Tamer? We need some help at the aqueducts."

Toki saw the approaching insectoid Digimon and waved happily, not really batting an eye at how intimidating they looked. They seemed friendly enough to approach and speak politely, and when they asked what he was and if he could help, he nodded "I'm a Spirit User, and I'd be more than happy to lend a hand with that. aqueducts are vital to any thriving community after all."
He finished his current bottle of water and stored it in his backpack before he walked over to the Digimon "My name's Toki Akiyama. It's a pleasure to meet you." he said with a polite bow of his head. "It's turning out to be quite something, huh? I...feel for those who would rather it remain the same. But after the Village of Beginnings there's no place close by for Digimon to thrive and learn. It's my hope that this new place will give them that home." he said.
Once the Digimon would lead the way, he would follow. "It's always nice to meet someone new in situations where we're all working together for something. I'm definitely still adjusting to the Digital World, but...I'd like to think I'm making a difference by helping out here."
He looked over at his new companion "What are your thoughts on everything here right now? Anything you'd like to see done after the general foundation is all said and done?"
With him talking and asking questions, Toki hoped he wasn't being annoying to the stranger. He was just happy to meet someone helping in the building effort. He looked around at all of the other workers getting things built with a smile. It was sure to be a sight to behold once it was finished.

As soon as the human agreed to help out, the Mukademon turned to lead him back the way he'd come.
"Thanks for volunteering," he said after the introductions. "My own name is Rinji. I'm just your average digimon," he stated in jest. Which was somewhat amusing, when you realised that a digimon could easily be a spirit user in disguise.
Although maybe it was out of place. This man was exceptionally well-spoken and surprisingly friendly. Just the type of person to make you want to open up as soon as you meet them.
"Not having a place to go after the Village of Beginnings... that's exactly what happened to me. In the end I made do with Server Woods. Of course the portion I lived in is all going to go now." It wasn't said with malice or contempt, but instead a tone implying the finality and acceptance of progress. Ultimately? It was a good thing.
"My hopes for when everything's done? Hmm..." The gigantic centipede appeared somewhat thoughtful. "Honestly? I only hope this place will be a safe refuge where young digimon can live. Continue their learning and such. On the plus side, the forest is beautiful. So maybe this town will become known for its beauty too? We could plant some flowers, just like that little garden you were next to."
Rinji stopped. They'd reached the top of the embankment overlooking the valley of obstructive trees.
"Here we are. If you look in the distance you should be able to see the foundations of the aqueducts. They wanted to extend them all the way to our location here, but as you can see there's about a mile of trees in the way." Normally the thought of destroying trees was a sad one, but... "We need to clear them for the workers."
Without a second thought, the centipede's maw opened wide, flickered red twice, then fired off a laser beam clearing about a 100 meter patch of trees. Only a smoking trail of stumps and fallen trunks were left. "...and we still need to clear up what we cut. No doubt they'll put it to good use."

"No problem! As soon as I heard about the project I was excited to do my part for it. The young Digimon and the newly reborn deserve a place like this to call home if you ask me. There's so much a beautiful, comforting place to call home can do to help put a mind at ease..." he said. He smiled brightly at Rinji's introduction "It's very nice to meet you, Rinji. Average Digimon or not, you've got a story to tell. We all do."
He nodded at his explanation "So you grew up in the area...well, I hope you still view this place as a home whenever you're here. It may look different, but the heart is still there, and will continue to be there as long as it nurtures the future, you know?"
Rinji hoping this place would become a safe haven resonated with Toki "It's why I built that makeshift area to sort of...fence it off, I guess. I want those parts to remain and be a part of this new community. Wouldn't that be a sight...a floral town in the middle of the forest..." he thought on it and nodded to himself "I should write something about that..."
Toki looked out towards the horizon to see the foundations "That's quite the project...let's see..." he looked and tried to measure a decent pathway to remove as few trees as possible, but soon stood back as Rinji fired a massive beam of energy, cutting a path through the forest "I...wow, I suppose that works." he said, slightly taken aback by the sudden blast. "I hope that wasn't too many..."
"Well, time to get to work I suppose!" he said, taking out his Digivice and going through the motions to activate the scanner "Beast Spirit Evolution!" he shouted, the energy shrouding him in light. By the time the light faded, a large, rabbit Digimon known as Lagosmon stood in Toki's place. "Thankfully this form should have plenty of strength and abilities to clear the path and gather up the wood scraps." he said as he walked forward to the stumps. With swift motions, he dug into the dirt and began to uproot them. Sometimes he would use Sand Shackles to sweep away debris and smooth the path. Other times he would use Earthen Bastion to push larger obstacles to the side "This is going to take a while." he said with a light chuckle "Still, that was impressive...in a flash, the trees were gone...that certainly makes this part easier. Are you...okay?" he asked, wanting to be sure Rinji was okay with this decision.
