SuperShoutmon's Molten Armor looked like a tough piece of business, so it was probably a surprise when getting struck by Bloodletter hurt him just as much as it would have hurt any other digimon. Still, it definitely would have hurt Commandramon even more should it have hit him so the dino digimon expressed his gratitude with, "Thank you, SuperShoutmon!"
"Oh, my-!" That show of selflessness and courage was not lost on Yoshi either. Before he could say more, though, Commandramon was trying to get his attention.
"General! To me!" Tadayoshi obediently followed Commandramon's voice until he was close enough to see, which had to be very close given the low light conditions. "It's time for you to use your power!"
"My- what?"
Commandramon reached into Yoshi's pocket and handed the boy his own Xros Loader. "This! You can use it to fuse me with another digimon to make a stronger one out of us."
Yoshi gulped. Seemed he wasn't gonna get to stay out of the fight after all. "O-OK. So, SuperShoutmon-"
"No! Not with someone else's partner. That won't work."
"I don't know the rules here! Besides, there aren't any digimon left!"
"Yes... that's the risky part." Commandramon held Yoshi's free hand then with his free paw in an attempt to keep his General calm, a tactic which was minimally effective but barely got the job done. "We're going to attempt something dangerous: an Incomplete Fusion. If you attempt to fuse me with a digimon who isn't here, there is a miniscule chance I will hold the form just long enough to finish this!"
"And what happens if it doesn't work?" The digimon didn't answer right away, something that gave the boy pause himself. Still, he had to push, "Huh?"
"All the danger is on me, and I accept the risk! Now do it!" Commandramon shoved Yoshi then, which was his attempt to get his General just grounded enough to understand the need to get the job done, then stared intensely at his new human partner.
"Oh, God, please let this work..." At first Yoshi had no idea what he was doing, but as he held out the device toward Commandramon it felt like the knowledge of exactly how to do what was asked him flooded his brain like it had been uploaded through the Matrix. "Standby, Commandramon!" Commandramon huffed and bared his teeth. "Standby-" Yoshi didn't have a second digimon to work with, but as he gave the command to prepare for fusion anyway, the image of one seemed to flash before his eyes. The flash wasn't long enough for him to identify it even if he had known more digimon, but it was clearly some kind of aquatic variety. "Digifuse!"
Yoshi couldn't be sure whether what next was what was supposed to happen or a complete disaster: Commandramon's whole body became pixels that began to rearrange until he instead was taking the vague shape of a one-man submarine that levitated just over ground. However, the transformation wasn't perfect: he seemed to be only half a submarine, and the parts that were missing seemed to be scattered all over his body. The digimon grunted and screamed in agony as he was forced to go through the improper transformation, but it seemed to only barely work. "Gyaaaaaah! X2: Submarimon!"
"Are you OK?"
"Just finish this as soon as we can!" This digimon shrieked, "You can't hide from me now, you snake! Oxygen Torpedos!" Yoshi wasn't quite sure why Submarimon suddenly seemed so sure he could see Devidramon; it hadn't gotten any brighter in the area yet. He didn't know that Submarimon was not tracking Devidramon by sight but by SONAR. This was why, when a pair of compressed air pods were launched from Submarimon's underbelly with a bang even louder than his rifle, the projectiles came extremely close to Devidramon, who actually had to move out of the way to dodge an attack this time.
Now he was scowling; it was clear this fight was no longer going his way. Even worse, at least for him, was that this was the moment when his his shroud of darkness lifted, finally letting the surrounding firelight in again. Just as the darkness dissipated, Devidramon launched himself at Submarimon to use his attack, "Crimson Nail!"
Devidramon's Bloodlust nullified the effect of SuperShoutmon's Molten Armor against Devidramon's Bloodletter. Commandramon performed an Incomplete Xros to X2 Submarimon. Submarimon attacked Devidramon with Oxygen Torpedos. Submarimon's SONAR nullified the effect of Devidramon's Nightmare Shroud against Submarimon's Oxygen Torpedos. Devidramon evaded Submarimon's Oxygen Torpedos. The effects of Devidramon's Nightmare Shroud wore off. Devidramon attacked Submarimon with Crimson Nail.
Devidramon's Bloodletter is on cooldown (2 posts remaining).
Bloodlust (passive): This digimon’s lust for violence is so insatiable that his abilities are not affected by opponent abilities which would reduce the damage of this digimon’s attacks.
Oxygen Torpedos: This digimon shoots a pair of projectiles made of highly-pressurized oxygen that both strike the enemy with blunt force and explode on impact due to sparks created from the friction to deal damage.
SONAR (passive): This digimon 's tracking, navigation, and targetting systems are primarily based on sound, immunizing him from any sensory-based accuracy reduction that doesn't affect hearing and tracking the location of any enemy in a 100-foot radius that makes a noise.
Crimson Nail: This digimon slashes at the opponent with his claws, dealing sharp physical damage.

Needless to say, SuperShoutmon was quite surprised when the Bloodletter still hurt him, even with his Molten Armor equipped. The attack caused him to be pushed back quite aways, and he was clutching his abdomen in pain. Still, it was worth it when he heard Commandramon thank him, in which he responded by giving the rookie a big thumbs-up.
"SuperShoutmon! Are you okay?!" Adrian asked his partner worryingly.
"Just a bruised body and a few broken ribs, probably..." SuperShoutmon joked. "But other than that, I'm fine."
Adrian and SuperShoutmon then listened to Yoshi's and Commandramon's discussion about an "Incomplete Xros." Neither of them knew what was going on, because they had never seen a Xros General before. However, suddenly it looked like Commandramon digivolved or something, into Submarimon... and it did not look stable at all. Submarimon then used Oxygen Torpedos, which actually made Devidramon have to move out of the way to avoid!
"Alright, I've had enough of this!" SuperShoutmon yells. "Let's see this chump try and take down an ULTIMATE!"
"Alright..." Adrian said hesitantly, because the Digimon DID take some major damage earlier. "Shoutmon, Digivolve!"
"SuperShoutmon, digivolve to... OmniShoutmon!"
Suddenly, in SuperShoutmon's place stood a really tall golden dragon-man, who resembled nothing of his previous forms' personality, looking more stoic than anything. He would then jump in front of Devidramon and counter his Crimson Nail with Doom Drillpress, slashing at the claws with his leg-blades.

"Focus, General!" Submarimon had been saved by Adrian's partner yet again. It came time to repay the favor. Submarimon's drill at the end of his bow began to spin so fast the jagged blades were almost invisible to the naked eye. Then Submarimon's thrusters began to roar as he shot forward like a torpedo himself toward the devilish digimon. "Ram Drill!" Devidramon was too busy trying to hold off OmniShoutmon's attack, which had caused an impasse of sorts, to do anything about Submarimon's. The incomplete digimon managed to drive his ram straight through Devidramon's chest, a sight from which Tadayoshi had to turn away from due to his weak constitution. Once the attack was through, Commandramon then insisted, "Now! Finish him, OmniShoutmon!"
"Not yet..." Devidramon found time to growl defiantly. "I won't... Demon-!" Too late. Shoutmon's superior form and strength were able to overwhelm Devidramon before the evil dragon could loose his attack. As the blades collided with his body he screamed to the sky... before disintegrating into nothing but unconfigured before his opponent's very eyes.
Soon as he witnessed this, Submarimon cried out in agony and broke his fusion. That left him in Commandramon form face-down in the dirt, gasping and grunting and gritting his teeth. Tadayoshi instantly began running toward him out of concern, but as soon as the newly tested General slid to a stop beside his partner, Commandramon managed to hiss, "I'm... fine..."
But as indisputable a victory as that was, this was also the point where things began to get interesting again on Rebecca's end. By the time Devidramon had been defeated, all Rebecca's squad had grabbed a crate of foodstuffs and carted off with it, leaving her and her digimon all alone with a dozen Troopmon to watch. Sensing their numbers advantage, one of the Troopmon suddenly rose to its feet and attempted to punch Rebecca in the stomach when he thought her guard had lowered too far. The rest took this as their signal to act, too, though instead of standing and fighting, they all attempted to flee, with the one who attempted the diversion just behind them all.
Devidramon's Crimson Nail was blocked by OmniShoutmon's Doom Drillpress. Submarimon attacked Devidramon with Ram Drill. Devidramon was hit by Submarimon's Ram Drill. Devidramon was hit by Omnishoutmon's Doom Drillpress. Devidramon's Crimson Nail reduced the damage taken.
Devidramon was defeated.
Submarimon defused to core partner Commandramon.
-Ram Drill: This digimon causes the ram on his nose to spin, turning it into a dangerous drill that he then hits his opponent with to deal damage.

Alright! OmniShoutmon had been able to counter the attack from Devidramon, giving Submarimon another chance to strike! And strike it did, as its nose drill began to spin and spin, until the Xrossed Digimon rammed right through Devidramon's chest, leaving him completely vulnerable to OmniShoutmon's next attack.
"Flame Cannon!" OmniShoutmon yells as a barrage of homing fireballs shot out of his chest and struck Devidramon, causing the evil tyrant to disintegrate into code. He was gone... these Digimon were free.
Almost immediately after, OmniShoutmon reverted back to his Rookie form. "Phew... is everyone alright?"
"Yeah... yeah, we are. Devidramon is gone... Thankfully, those Troopmon were all distracted by the others."
Speaking of the others, Rebecca was not expecting a punch to the gut by one of the Troopmon. The sudden jolt caused her to lose her breath and fall to the ground!
"WHITE WOLF!" Gabumon yelled before glaring at the fleeing Troopmon. "Blue Blaster!" Gabumon would then shoot an ice beam right below the Troopmons' feet, causing all of them to slip and lose their footing, giving the others enough time to catch up with them.

Only about half the Troopmon were clumsy enough to get tripped up by the ice, but even they, after getting back to their feet, attempted to keep fleeing toward the village's edge in order to avoid recapture. It seemed it would take a little more than one slip and fall to stop them completely.
As things calmed down on Adrian's and Yoshi's end, Commandramon sincerely thanked his new allies, "Thank you all. I could never have done this without you," even though he was still panting and splayed out on the ground. "And... General?"
Yoshi crouched down by Commandramon's side when called. "It feels kinda weird for you to keep calling me that."
"Get used to it. You're a soldier now, Tadayoshi." Commandramon then extended a paw, asking for a hand standing up. Yoshi didn't take it immediately, as he was floored by the significance of Commandramon's declaration. Nevertheless, the teen took the paw in his hand and pulled to get Commandramon on his feet, but both of them knew the significance of that act was more than just Tadayoshi being courteous. "Adrian, Shoutmon, I hope I can call on you again when I need you. For now, we should withdraw to the hideout."

"It was... almost no problem at all," Adrian told Commandramon. "I would say no problem, but that fight was kinda tough."
"Last I recall, Commandramon and I were the ones doing the fighting," Shoutmon scoffs. "While you and Yoshi here just sat back!"
"Who was the one that gave you energy to Digivolve in the first place?" Adrian asks, crossing his arms. That, thankfully, caused Shoutmon to shut up about it. Chuckling a bit, Adrian faced Yoshi and Commandramon. "Hey, we're always happy to help out a couple friends. And maybe with Devidramon gone, you guys can stop living in fear."
Back with White Wolf, Gabumon was pretty angry that his attack didn't fully stop the Troopmon. "Augh! They got away... White Wolf, come on," he says as he and Agumon helped up their tamer.
"Thank you guys..." White Wolf said, "That punch really surprised me... come on, let's get back to the hideout."
When the distraction group returned, that was when they had met up with the other group. "You two are back! Did you defeat Devidramon?"
"Hell yeah we did," Shoutmon bragged. "That dude's nothing but code now!"
"Well... then I guess it's time that we head home, right?" White Wolf suggested.
"Or we can stay and munch on the food we brought back," Agumon suggested, drooling a little bit.
"That's a good call! Let's do that!" Shoutmon cheered.
"You and your stomachs..." Adrian said, causing himself, White Wolf and Gabumon to laugh.

Commandramon shook his head at the original suggestion of chowing down. "I can't allow that. Devidramon was just a lieutenant, the local leader. This force has spread father than just this little village, and they're bound to be upset that we cut off one of their heads. This isn't over." That last thought did bring a rare smile to Commandramon's face, though, making him change his tune. "Then again, perhaps this is a time for celebration. Demimera-" But just then Commandramon peered around to find there were no crates of food. There were no other digimon in there either. "Rebecca, didn't you say the others left before you? Why wouldn't they be here already?"
That prompted Tadayoshi to turn around. "Hey, wait a minute..." Apparently he'd found something in the wall that interested him: some scratches on the wall that were clearly some kind of distinct language, only one he didn't understand. "Commandramon? Was this here before?"
When told, Commandramon came and read the message. "It wasn't. It says-" Before Commandramon even read the message, though, he suddenly grasped Tadayoshi's hand and called out, "Everyone, run! Now!" before taking off out of the tunnel and back to the surface with his partner in tow. When he reached the surface, Tadayoshi understood Commandramon's panic: muzzle flashes and automatic fire from Troopmon lit up the forest. Thankfully, the attacks seemed to be missing, but Commandramon kept running, hoping the others were right with him. "That's our code for when a hideout is compromised!" he explained as he ran, "Those other Troopmon, the ones we lost track of - they must have found this place and ambushed the others. They never made it here, and the location is known!"
"So now what?" Yoshi cried over gunfire.
"Just focus on escaping for now! There're too many to fight!"

"See, no need to be serious all the time," Shoutmon says, nudging Commandramon with his elbow. However, Commandramon brought up the fact that... there were no crates of food anywhere.
"They did leave before us... why aren't they here?" White Wolf asked, looking around at the area. This brought up worries inside everyone's heads. Did something bad happen? There was a bizarre looking language scratched onto the wall...
"Compromised..." Gabumon gasped as he read it. Before he could say anything, Commandramon had yelled at everyone to run. He and Tadayoshi ran into a tunnel, and soon everyone else followed. When they got back to the surface, the shelter they were just in was blown up...
"The Troopmon got the jump on us and fled," White Wolf admitted, tears in her eyes. "I'm so sorry, Commandramon..."
"The Troopmon you faced were only half of the ones present," Adrian says. "Half of them went into another direction when those flares went up. They must've suspected that we were up to something!"
"Let's just get out of here!" Agumon cried.
"Tadayoshi, your Xros Loader is going to have a Digiport function," Gabumon instructed as Adrian and Shoutmon went through their own Digiport. "Use it to get you and Commandramon to safety! Now!" He yelled before following White Wolf and Agumon into their own Digi-Port.

"What the-?" Yoshi didn't get a chance to deploy his portal before Troopmon fire forced Commandramon to act first.
"Down!" Commandramon demanded before, with surprising strength given his stature, tackling Tadayoshi to the ground behind a tree. "General, if we're going to get out of this, you have to try. Do it."
"I don't know how!"
"Just try, frag it all!" As enemy rounds began to stir up dirt in the ground around them, Commandramon emphasized, "Now!"
"D-digiport, open!" Yoshi held out his Loader in front of him scaredly, but he actually got the result he intended: there, in front of him, was an image of a train station and, more importantly, people.
"Go! Go!" Commandramon had to push the frozen Tadayoshi to get him to move, but to the teenager's credit he then managed to make it through the portal under his own power.
"Yes!" Yoshi exclaimed when he knew he was home free, "Oh, my god... oh, crap, wow... we're safe... holy-" but when Tadayoshi looked behind himself he couldn't find anyone he recognized. "C-Commandramon?"
"Down here." Mercifully, Commandramon sounded off promptly when called... from within Tadayoshi's Xros Loader? "You did well, General."
"You're... you're not stuck in there, are you?"
"I may emerge as I please... forgive me for not being social, however." Yoshi took that as his cue to leave Commandramon alone for a moment, at which point he finally began to look around the station - primarily hoping to find his companions from before.

"Nph!"
Two screams originated next to Tadayoshi as both Adrian and... another teenage girl was there? Getting up, Adrian would then bend down to help out Rebecca. "Are you okay?"
"Y-Yes... I'm fine... thank you for helping. Now where would Ta-" Rebecca cut herself off when she turned around and saw Tadayoshi standing right there. Oh crap... would he find out? Would that cunning, confident, sexy image of White Wolf be shattered for him by knowing who Rebecca truly was? A sad, antisocial teenager?
"Is everyone alright out there?" Shoutmon asked from inside Adrian's D-Arc, which was pulled out of his pocket.
"Yes, everyone's alright. All Digimon are inside V-Pets I think, and I don't think anyone got shot at all."
"We failed that mission, huh? Sure, Devidramon's deader than a doornail, but what about Commandramon's friends? And Commandramon himself?"

Yoshi wasn't stupid: on sight of Rebecca, the girl who saved him by the river, he put two and two together. Indeed, this had to be the White Wolf he'd known earlier. Naturally it made sense an idol wouldn't travel dressed for the stage everywhere, but... wow. Still, there were more important things to worry about, as Shoutmon quite bluntly reminded Yoshi and Commandramon.
"We walked into a trap," Commandramon spat. "They'd learned our location already; they were just waiting for our forces to leave so they could take it. Devidramon expected us from the start, though I suspect he didn't count on outside help." Commandramon growled before adding, "May his egg in Primary Village never hatch." This was an expression that went over Tadayoshi's head, but he supposed then wasn't the time to ask about it.
Maybe it was the time to ask about something else, though. "Hey, uh... since we almost died together a second ago and everything, could I maybe, you know... have your autograph? Maybe take a picture with you?"

Rebecca froze up when she heard Tadayoshi ask her for an autograph. Completely petrified, she just stared at the teen for a bit, before dashing off in the opposite direction, wanting to head home as fast as possible.
"Well... that happened..." Adrian commented. "I guess we better get going too... I'm sorry about your village, Commandramon. And Tadayoshi, call me and Shoutmon if you two ever need help again."
And with that, Adrian grabbed his bag and walked away, leaving Tadayoshi alone to collect his thoughts...
