Darn it, Akemi! The group hug was a great idea! Everyone needs to hug a zappy centipede at least once in their lives!
The bad decisions were only encouraged more by Amelie's knowledge of someone who may save the bad hair day! With Rinji's final offering of a hug before mandatory hugging, the red-eyed sibling threw a glance at her twin, before flashing a grin. "I'm doing it," she stated, before walking up to the Mukademon, and putting her arms out to hug him. Who cared if she was a little staticy afterward! Worth the risk!
Not that it would probably reflect too much anyway, since there was a high chance that hairspray assisted in the fluffy nature of her usual hairstyle! Though, it was entirely possible that the tips of her hair seemed to curl a bit from any potential electrical current!
Meanwhile, Evie would much more calmly take up a position on the Digimon. "Thank you for giving us a ride, Rinji," she hummed, giving a small smile. It wasn't like the prim-and-proper teen wasn't friendly! She just didn't want her hair to look like Elsie's! Which probably reflected in the soft murmur of, "I hope not," when hearing Akemi's muttering.
Honestly, Elsie really hoped everyone was going to get ridiculous hair from this adventure!
Though nobody seemed to be afraid of tight spaces, maybe Rinji would notice that the wild-haired twin was hugging him even tighter upon descent. Somehow, the idea of how dark it was hadn't crossed her mind! Had her sister thought about the lack of visibility, despite offering to drag her along? That was just inconsiderate!
Then again, it seemed that Evie had planned to come, regardless of if Elsie had.
It was a good thing that Rinji had warned everyone to be silent, because the teen had almost asked why he had lit up the place! Though it was a given, upon seeing the sleeping monsters, Elsie still couldn't help but be a bit grateful at a bit of light being (temporarily) brought into view. Considering the sight that it had unmasked, one had to wonder if it was actually something to have been momentarily happy regarding.
Meanwhile, Evie had been silent regardless of the request, taking a moment of light to assess their surroundings to the best of her ability. Were these what those DexDorugamons were, that were being discussed earlier? How interesting. How... probably dangerous. For a moment, she regretted not having digivolved already. Especially since Offmon was pretty good at giving everyone a bit of silence!
Instead, she wouldn't even move to grab her digivice, in hopes of avoiding any unnecessary noise.

So far, so good. Everyone had gotten aboard Rinji and their journey underground, even if relatively short, proved to be fairly pleasant despite... the obvious effect of static on the brunette's —and most likely, everyone's— hair; not like she cared all that much considering the very essence of this endeavor was figuratively getting your hands dirty, but since that had been a cornerstone of the previous conversation, at least noting it seemed like something mildly important?
What did she know, anyway?
One thing was for sure, however; the presence of the zombie dragons was more than obvious despite the perpetual darkness that flooded the tunnel. Thankfully, her spirit forms weren't able to smell the stench of the DexDorugamons, but on the aftermath of every fight, not catching at least the smallest bit of that foul smell was pretty much impossible. "Be alert." She muttered, her voice low; chances were that the action would begin at any moment now, and that her small secret would be revealed.
It wasn't that big of a deal, all things considered.
Amelie nodded to Rinji's words, one of her hands almost unconsciously digging into her skirt's pocket and gently, but firmly gripping her D-Tector. Soon enough, the Mukademon's attack briefly illuminated the room where they currently were at, confirming the teenager's suspicions; this was where the bulk of their numbers resided, and while they were asleep, they could wake up at any moment.
However, there was something else she had noticed.
Embedded in one of the walls, there was a small object; Amy hadn't been able to see it clearly because of the limited light and the fact that it was a bit on the small side, but it looked like some sort of... totem. Or digimental, maybe? It could be either or, as far as she was aware. Despite Rinji's warning, this time it was her voice the one that broke the otherwise absolute silence.
"I saw something." Her whispers probably needed a fair bit of concentration to be heard clearly. "Is any of your digivices reacting? It may be important."
After waiting for an answer, she decided that acting was probably the way to go. As risky as it came, but what was life without taking some risks? A small smirk made its way to her face. "I can break their formation if needed. The ensuing chaos should be enough to retrieve the item."
It was a reckless plan, but since she would be the one acting as bait, the inherent risk of facing against countless undead dragons was a bit lessened to them.

Things were going relatively well in Rinji's opinion, despite the fact they were a hundred feet underground, surrounded by decaying zombie dragons, and to boot, having a bad hair day - himself excluded. Although that part was rather amusing, considering the seriousness of the situation. And the fact it was his own fault.
Amelie was the first to break his imposed silence. Gently, he turned his head, attempting to spot what she'd supposedly seen. When he thought he saw it, he stopped.
"It's got to be one of you three," he whispered to the humans still on his head. "Do you have your 'vices on mute or something?" To be honest, it was a good thing that they weren't beeping. Beeping was comparatively louder than whispering - which in itself didn't seem to stir anything out of the sleeping dragons.
Considering they didn't know what the item was, or if it was even worth having, he was somewhat reluctant of Amelie's suggestion. "Are you sure that's a good idea? I can cover you, but..."
He paused. "What if it's nothing?"
Now, if someone could speak up and correct him that indeed it was something important, maybe he'd change his mind. Because otherwise, there was just something somewhat suicidal about this plan.

It took a bit for both Akemi and Anzu's eyes to adjust to the darkness, but once they did, they took note of what seemed to be in the wall. Anzu especially.
Something...welled up in her. Something familiar. "...That totem..." She muttered. Yes, this...could lead to something. Maybe an idea, an inkling of who she truly was. "Amaya. Digivice. Now." The Tsukaimon uttered. Lowly. Almost growling. This was very unlike how she had been behaving merely minutes earlier. There was a strange...surprising amount of intellect behind her vernacular. Akemi took her digivice out and lo and behold? It made no sound, but it did say something noteworthy.
Digimental found. Anzu quietly flapped over to look at her screen. Good. Good. This would be a very...Nasty. Risky sort of plan. "If you can cover us, Rinji...Such would be very admirable of you. For I am faced...with power. Power within my grasp." Anzu whispered. "And unfortunate as it may be...My base instincts when confronted with this...Is to seize it. Lady Amelie may aid as well. So long as I get what is now rightfully mine."
Akemi was, once more, disturbed at the sudden sapience Anzu displayed. But, if such was the case...This couldn't be nothing. No.
"...I don't think it's nothing. So...Everyone except us try...angering them while Anzu goes for the...that thing?"

Neither twin entirely understood what to do in the current situation. They also didn't really know what Amelie was talking about at first! While Evie was quick to realize that the item was very likely something involved in digivolving, Elsie just mumbled an, "uhhh?"
While Evie didn't bother to look at her digivice, Elsie still checked to make sure that somehow a mute function hadn't been pressed. For Evie, it was far more obvious that it couldn't belong to one of the twins. After all, wouldn't there be two, if it did?
The answer was quickly found, when Anzu started acting oddly. Leaning closer to her sister, the red-eyed girl murmured, "what's going on with the winged bean? She sounds serious."
This warranted a small shrug from Evie, who otherwise ignored the question. While the sudden change in personality did seem odd, the teen admitted had no idea what any of their company was really like! Perhaps this was normal for Anzu! Digimon seemed to be pretty complex creatures, after all.
As far as the impromptu 'mission' went, though? Sounded simple enough. Elsie gave a grin, shifting so that she could get off of Rinji. "Sounds good. Eves and I are really good at angering things." Now, Evie gave a nod. There was no denying that the twins were pretty good at pressing buttons!
In a small glow of light -- which surely would seem brighter than usual, considering the otherwise darkness of the room -- both twins had shrunk in size, and shape, to become very obviously rookie-level Digimon. After all, if Rinji's attack hadn't awoken the beasts, a digivolution probably wouldn't either, right?
Though, before acting too brash, Evie piped up with, "should we anger them? Or..."
"Uh, yeah. What else would we be doing, dressed up like stuffed animals?" No offense, Anzu! Rookies totally look like teddy bears! Or beans.
Elsie had long lost her whisper, and was shuffling away from Rinji to avoid getting anyone else too annoyed with her next decision. "St-range Hack," the Hackmon clicked, as the eye on its hood began to light up the room. Far more than what the digivice had initially done! If anyone was going to start waking it, it was probably right now!
And if they didn't, the ball of energy that was shot at some of the monsters along one of the walls would surely be a pleasant wake-up call!
The tea-kettle-sounding exhale that came from the far more reserved Offmon, as she watched her sibling do something that was definitely on the reckless side of the spectrum, would hopefully go unheard. And considering Elsie was making no attempt at silence at the moment, it surely would.

Was her plan reckless? Yes. Had she been going with a gut feeling on what could be a potentially lethal endeavor? Yes. Was she disregarding everyone's safety? Probably, yes. But... Amelie was confident; thus far, her instincts had never failed her, at least regarding this kind of things. It was almost as if an invisible hand decided to guide her at times.
And, sincerely, she hoped that this time it wouldn't be any different. However, she was a bit relieved to find a measure of level-headedness in response to her brash proposal; as always, Rinji kept his head cool and made sure that this small venture wasn't utterly suicidal. Which, to the brunette's relief, it had proven to not be. Since the question had been answered by itself, she smiled placidly at the Mukademon.
"I'm not sure if it is a good idea. But... I can say it definitely isn't nothing." If anything, the current display between Akemi and Anzu demonstrated that the item was, indeed, a Digimental belonging to them. What better way to influence new allies than to help them with that? If there was one, the teenager definitely didn't know.
Least to say, she was a bit surprised at the sudden turn on Anzu's demeanor. The bean seemed to be way less dorky, and Amy'd dare to say, even smarter. Was that concerning? Probably, but that was something they could always address later; not when in front of the swarm of undead cyborg dragons.
Akemi's own plan seemed solid enough, prompting a nod from Amy as both Elsie and Evie began to get ready to play their role, and even a bit eagerly to boot. It was kinda funny how everyone seemed to act almost like a team, despite barely knowing each other for any meaningful amount of time.
Well, except her own relationship with Rinji, that is!
"Time to go." Not a lot of time after the blonde pair descended, Amelie did the same; however, her own evolution would go a little slower, mostly given how she was still a bit inexperienced with her spirits' perfect form. By the time the energy ball conjured by Hackmon began to race towards the DexDorugamons, Heraldmon stood some distance away from Rinji, its tendrils slowly getting a grip on the foreign soil underneath.
Of course, the attack had the desired result; the opposing digimons woke up rather rapidly, the frenzied clicking of their metallic teeth resonating through the area as they began to disorderly charge against the group.
And, just as expected, it was Amy's job to intercept them in order to buy Anzu enough time to snatch the Digimental. Heraldmon's hulking form advanced fearlessly, making sure that the collision would happen at a safe enough distance from the rest of the group, yet close enough for them to provide ranged support if they wished to do so.
This would be interesting!

Okay, that was unsettling. With Akemi and Anzu so close to his head (or, more accurately, on top of it), Rinji had heard everything.
"Alright then," he said slowly. "Anything for the Dark Lady of the Abyss." The last part had been in jest, though there was a tone of apprehensiveness to it. He shifted his weight to the side. Was it the ensnaring darkness? Or being flanked by strangers in a nest full of danger?
Still, when Elsie and Evie went to slide off him, he lowered his head. "You two are rather cute," he remarked after their combined evolution and Elsie's stuffed animal comment. It was always interesting to see the types of Digimon that humans could spirit evolve into, though he couldn't yet fathom what they were meant to represent, if anything.
With the banter aside and tension rising, an unspoken agreement hanged in the air: that they'd be working together to create the distraction - especially now that Amelie and the others had proved, without a doubt, they had a convincing case.
He nodded to the group, and Amelie in particular. "Let's get to it." Although he hated to have been the one reigning back everyone's excitement, it was rational to assume that someone was going to take on the role of reason; but he was no stick in the mud.
After curiously watching Hackmon perform her attack and allowing Amelie to get into position, he focussed on the swarming onslaught. A depthy growl signalled his own attack.
"Incinerate Laser." A red laser filled the cavern and travelled through the undead mass. Wings and limbs were sliced clean off whenever the Mukademon scored a lucky hit.
It was pivotal that Amelie was providing herself as a wall of defensive flesh, because as strong as his laser beam was, it was precise. And precision meant that he could only trim the swarm out.
As obvious as it had been from the start, there was no way they could exterminate the entire hive. In between shots, Rinji cried out to Anzu. "Get the totem! We need more fire-power!"
Little did he know, they would be getting fire-power. Just not in the way he was imagining it.

"...Shee....Gets like this sometimes. It's rare but I kind of like it when she does that because it proves I'm not dealing with a moron?" Akemi tried to explain. Anzu just shook her head. "Or that you're underestimating me. Plus, you actually do look like stuffed animals." The bean snerked. As everyone attacked, and caused their damage, Anzu and Akemi made their move, the former bolting off and running across the cavern, with the latter trailing behind her. Everyone had done a good job of distracting them. The clicking teeth and noise were sort of unsettling to both tamer and Digimon, and Anzu was definitely hoping she wouldn't be faced with any metal balls of death. As Rinji had cried out to get the totem, Anzu leapt towards it, and it seemed like she was about to fall flat on her face, when...the tip of her paw made contact with the Digimental. A single word filled Anzu's mind. Resilience. Resilience towards...what? As the totem glowed, in conjunction with Akemi's digivice as she neared her partner, Anzu's form began to change. Purple fur became a dark blue as the bean began to quite...literally expand and elongate in various places, her very skin peeling off to reveal a wireframe skeleton underneath. One that swiftly began to grow patches of metal and tubes to fill in space. You'd think this was painful. But not quite. It took Akemi but a moment to realize that Anzu had become one of the very things that her newfound friends was fighting against at this very moment. A metallic, zombie-like dragon that by all means looked more like Frankenstein's furball than anything. Yet, unlike the others, this one was different. For there lay a sigil emblazoned into it's helm. A triskelion. As if this thing could become even more comically...'edgy.' "I am the bulwark that crushes the weak underfoot. The resilient tumor that shant be rooted out." It spoke, a metallic hiss underlying it's voice as it stepped past Akemi. "Herald my coming, for I am DexDorugamon, and you, SHALL. KNEEL." The hiss became a roar. A challenging one. The biggest of the horde oughta square up.

Hearing Rinji's comment, Evie proceeded to blush, while Elsie snickered. "See? Super intimidating stuffed animals." Not intimidating at all! Couldn't they look a little more vicious or something? Sure, rookie forms were the least exhaustive form, but it didn't have to look like something from a toddler's bedroom!
After Elsie's move had certainly stirred a few of the beasts, the twins found that the creatures were definitely displeased with this form of attention. While Evie would soon take a step away from her sibling, who had gained primary interest for her aggression, the Offmon had to keep her focus on her sister, rather than the other creatures that scattered the field. Rinji's was no surprise, but the quality that Amelie took on was almost concerning.
Elsie didn't really care, however. Instead, drawing closer to the creatures that threatened their group. Cables crackled, and began to whip about, hopefully causing a decent sum of regret in those that dared to challenge the Hackmon. With Script Kiddie coursing electrical currents into the cords, it would certainly come to a shock to any of these zombie-monsters if they got too close! Literally!
And, Evie was seconds away from assisting when... the bean stopped being a bean! Eyes turned to see the creature that Anzu had turned into. It didn't look friendly. Nor did it sound friendly. With such a demand being brought by the DexDorugamon, the teen could only imagine that Anzu had a lot of faith in being able to decimate whatever stood in its way.
Would any one of these enemies have the courage to face the newly-evolved nightmare soldier?
Evie almost felt bad using Patch on one of the DexDorugamons that had gotten too close to her sibling. In part, because it had likely been distracted by the display of dominance, and in part because she didn't want to interrupt such a moment!

The clash was a demonstration of what was both romantic and pragmatic about battles; a group of fighters, relishing on a fight in order to bring the light of order and civilization to a desolate, lawless place, eschewing facts such as they barely knew each other in order to succeed. All while, on the other side, it just looked like a group of humans (and Rinji) slaughtering a group of natives in order to capitalize on an expanse of otherwise unclaimed terrain for their own, admittedly not-so righteous purposes.
Which was the true version? They were probably two faces of the same coin, both having a measure of truth and falsehood to them. That was alright, however; even if the ideal that had moved Amy to action had been flawless —at least in paper—, the beings carrying it out weren't.
Onto what mattered, though! Given they had the surprise factor, the first moments of the battle seemed to lean heavily on the combatants' favor; some of the poor DexDorugamons had been crushed under the sheer weight of Heraldmon, and the ones that followed hadn't fared any better; however, as their numbers began to pile up, things began to look more than dicey to the perfect level. She was getting overwhelmed, and it would be a matter of time before that became her downfall. But that was part of the plan, right?
Everyone else was playing their part, fragments of dead data and the stench of the rotting DexDorugamons dispersing into the air filling the atmosphere while Akemi and Anzu raced onward towards their goal, seizing their prize right away. The former bean evolved right away, her form shifting and contorting in no more and no less than... yet another DexDorugamon.
It was a pity that Amelie couldn't listen to the challenge, even though its effect were obvious; most of the zombie dragons froze in an instant while a decidedly small portion went in a frenzy right away, clawing and biting everything around them, whether 'friend' or foe. The immediate reaction was for chaos to erupt between their ranks, infighting breaking out as the smaller group was slowly eradicated by the ones now under Anzu's command.
Beholding the scene, Heraldmon couldn't call this a fight anymore; it was a slaughter. And, while a decisive victory would be a matter of time, their highest priority at the moment shifted to survive until that became a fact.
Amelie turned towards her allies; how were they handling themselves? Maybe they needed some help? Ensuring that everyone got out of this safe and sound resonated through her mind as her new main duty.

The Mukademon had to pause to comprehend exactly what'd just happened. After a moment's deliberation that'd left a defensive gap in the fight, Rinji settled on saying one thing.
"What?"
As expected from somebody trying to fend off a horde of crazed, flying balls of undeath, his voice was disgruntled. A moment later, he bashed a stray DexDorugamon into a wall. Then, Anzu, in her new form, spoke. Her voice positively echoed throughout the chamber, and it became clear to him that a disruption in the pecking order was afoot.
The undead raptors that just been fighting side by side as comrades, turned on each other in a bloody savagery. The weakest were quickly rooted out - either thrown onto the floor as disintegrating corpses or cowardly falling behind a bigger, stronger peer.
Soon enough, two factions became clear: a larger, shyer group that seemed content to defect to Anzu, and a smaller, rowdier group defiant of the newcomer.
The smaller group hissed and snapped at each other, until finally, they settled down into their new, self-imposed ranks.
Then, a leader stepped forward. A large, rugged male. It was clear how he became the leader of this faction. He'd simply beaten the others into submission.
He lowered his head and hissed in bone-chilling defiance.
Rinji swore he could feel the resulting reverberation course through his body.
This was a challenge.
And he was rooting for Anzu.
The thought of simply slaughtering the outnumbered group didn't even cross his mind. This had become a matter of dominance. A matter that could only be solved between the strongest members of the pack.
Rinji quietly, almost submissively, went to stand with his peers.

Well, some had heeled while some were just too confused by the sudden appearance of the new lady in charge and decided that the only logical way to vent this confusion was lashing out like a bunch of goddamned children. Regardless, a civil war had erupted between a good portion of the DexDorugamon, and Anzu--the biggest of them...Or, so she had thought at least, let out a screech.
There was a challenger. A male that looked like he had simply beaten them all to submission to get them to follow him. Quite honestly? Akemi felt like she knew exactly what to do for once in her life. There was very little uncertainty in the girl as she looked to her partner-turned-undead-raptor. "...What're you waiting for? Tell that guy to kiss the purplest part of your ass already."
This somehow translated to rushing at the male, leaping at him in an attempt to tackle him, and use her Core Eater attack to rip into his chest and tear his digicore out. If that had failed? Well, she was going to do her damndest to keep this little prick down on the ground and show him his place--under her figurative undead boot.
Shockingly, Akemi had been unharmed throughout all of this, and she quickly moved to stand with her newfound allies.

For the time being, it seemed that everyone had held their own. And, tides turned for the better once the bean ceased being quite as... bean-like. With confused masses of Digimon, the twins found no problem in bouncing over to become closer to their new friends. After all, they certainly weren't the focus at this point! What a relief for that!
Being so focused on making sure that one another had been safe, it had never crossed either twins' mind to keep tabs on Akemi to ensure her safety! Humans were squishy! Luckily, it seemed that the girl was safe! Especially with her partner becoming a large, angry-looking monster!
Elsie was the first one to say anything, leaning toward her sibling to mumble, "this got interesting real fast!"
Which, of course, warranted a small nod from the Offmon. Even though it seemed that for the time being, they were safe, neither swapped back to their human forms. After all, what if the DexDorugamon gathered enough of their mentality back and decided to target the much smaller group of invaders? Or, what if they decided to play unfair and try to aid their bully-of-a-boss in trying to beat Anzu down?
There were so many possibilities where being a normal person just wasn't going to be helpful in any way!
And, thinking about this, Evie had to take a look at Akemi again. The perfect target for anything bad. Yet, there she was, just encouraging her raptor to fight! Was it something admirable, or was it just plain stupid? At least for now, it seemed that she was totally safe among her peers. But, what was it that made humans gain the courage to stand among monsters? And, what dynamic made Digimon want to ally with fragile beings?
There were so many questions to ask! But for now, Evie would remain quiet, to avoid creating any distractions that could cause Anzu to falter.

Indeed, it was only a matter of time before the fight devolved into a direct dispute for authority. Two dominant figures, wrestling each other in order to gain dominance over the culled pack of Dexdorugamons; on one side, Anzu stood while in the other, and opposing leader who had risen to the challenge.
Amelie wasn't going to lie; she honestly had no idea why or how Akemi's partner had gained authority over the beings that now were her kin, but she wasn't going to complain now that the fight had grown to a sudden halt. Or to a clash of champions, maybe? The destiny of the hive now depended on the result of this fight, and while confident on their team's chances, she wasn't taking any risks; in a split second, Heraldmon's form gave way to the brunette's true body.
It was true that she was more fragile this way, but also that she would be more useful both to ensure their victory and to collaborate, in case things went awry. Amy closed the distance that separated them from where Elsie, Evie, and Rinji currently were, and while, in appearance, would do just as they and observe the duel from afar, she'd give her a little boost in order to get rid of the nuisance in front of them a little bit quicker.
"If, for some reason, she loses, don't run away." She'd mutter in a tone barely audible over the fight in front of them. "It'd be a real pity, but I'm just going to open a portal so we can get away safely. I think it's really unlikely at the moment, but it never hurts to be sure."
After all, Amelie wasn't that reckless to just jump into a nest of zombie dragons without a backup plan. For now, it was just waiting and hoping for the best. Amelie used Antivirus on Anzu.

To see both Amelie and Akemi come and return, both unharmed, earned an inward sigh of relief from Rinji. They'd taken a big risk with their diversionary tactic, but it looked like a decent pay off, now that Anzu had somehow become one of them.
"Good to see you're alright," Rinji greeted the two humans, although slightly more eye-contact had been paid to Amelie. Once he was satisfied with their condition - only a few expected scrapes and cuts - he continued.
"I don't think she'll lose." His voice was as matter-of-fact as a sports commentator, emotionally distant but sure of a victory. There was no doubt that Anzu was riding that first digivolution high. Even Amelie, though she wasn't placing bets, seemed to think so.
The presence of Elsie and Evie still warranted a cordial reply. "The back-up plan's good though. I can do a grab and run if she gets knocked out and we have to leave." In a way, both he and Amelie had become lead examples for the rest of the group. They couldn't behave too lax, no matter how confident they were.
While he watched the spectacle unfold, Rinji had to do a double-take when Anzu began glowing. He could feel it... there was no doubt, that was some kind of holy aura. A holy aura that made him want to squirm, turn around, and leave - right down to the digicore.
A glance-back was given to Amelie, who stood next to him innocently enough. So that's what she had done. Still, he kept his trap shut: Anzu didn't need someone to ruin her fight by playing referee.
After all, the Dark Area has no laws, Rinji realised in amusement.
_
Other than Rinji, the holy aura saturating Anzu's form may have been overlooked by anyone else. Any one of her new, unused abilities could've utilised some manner of glowing. To the crowd of Nightmare Soldiers, it was a bane. They retreated a few steps with a hiss.
Anzu's opponent remained unphased, though it was clear the glare was making him uneasy.
Then, he was rushed by Anzu. The male, only a few inches taller than Anzu, stood tense. His muscles rippled beneath his fur as he met her head-on, and opted to grapple her. Though Anzu had succeeded in her goal to wrestle him to the ground, the male skilfully used his strength to keep her snapping jaws away from his digicore.
Otherwise, it would've been all over embarrassingly quickly.
An opportunity arose out of this floor-based tussle. One that may have been this male's, secret, dirty trick. While Anzu was kept at arm's length, jaw barely an inch away from tearing his chest out, the male punched his head forwards. It was a nasty Skull Bash.
His supporters cheered in roars and hisses, whereas Anzu's own watched in stark, obedient silence. Yet no matter which side one looked at, both had an undercurrent of bristling, bloodthirsty excitement.
