Akemi gave Amelie a nod and kept her eyes on the fight. She seemed unnervingly calm. Resolute in the face of all of this danger. "I doubt she'll lose. Getting new things and getting to test them are two things that Anzu loves a lot. I doubt she'd take the chance to look bad in front of new friends, too. Then again, this is the same Tsukaimon that told 7 Digmon that were about to try arresting her to kiss the purplest part of her ass...Good plan. Let's do that if she loses."
Meanwhile. Metal head, meet metal head. The bash made contact and sent out a sonorous clang that echoed throughout the cavern and sounded like a cacophony of awful noises likenable to frying pans scratching against each other. Anzu focused her efforts on keeping the other DexDorugamon pinned down. She was about to try the exact same thing, but.
She had something that this dog didn't.
She had a brunette slashing cards at the back.
She had a holy fucking headbutt--a holy bash, to be precise, to deliver. She reared her head back and went right for it!

The twins still stood to watch, a little relieved that this fight hadn't gotten too intense for them. They were still getting the hang of combat, and surely would run out of energy faster than most of their new comrades! Though, neither would admit to this, for their own reasons. Perhaps, it all boiled down to their egos, more than anything else.
And, to emphasize this probability as a certainty. "Bean's not losin' anything," Elsie stated, matter-of-fact. "Maybe some pride in a worst-case, but."
Bold words for a rookie.
"If none of us run, I still feel the odds are in our favor." As long as they didn't let Anzu get too hurt before stepping in, that was. Still. They were invading these creatures homes. How did any of them feel justified in their actions? But, the invaders seemed to have a pretty good sway against those who lived here. Especially with whatever Amy had just swiped. Was this a card game or something? Either way, Elsie felt her chest tighten. The virus type that Hackmon carried did not enjoy the feeling that Anzu was was putting off. In fact, it outright made her dread the idea of coming in contact with such a holy urge.
While Evie couldn't sense the feeling -- being a Data type -- but she had placed it into the calculations of the tide being in Anzu's favor. But, these Digimon seemed primal enough that if the group showed hesitation on their standing, it would probably be game over rather quickly.
"While an escape is a good plan, I do not expect we'll need it." Especially with that holy headbutt about to bash the alpha-mentality right out of the soon-to-be-ex leader of the zombie 'mons! Yet, even if Evie thought that Anzu had a chance of losing, there was no way that she would ruin anyone's belief in the Digimon. After all, a single voiced doubt could destroy the courage to win.
And, Anzu needed to win.

Frankly, Amelie wholeheartedly agreed with everyone as they expressed there was pretty much no way in hell for Anzu to lose; and even if there was, the brunette could give the DexDorugamon the necessary push to overcome any hardship her enemy would present. She nodded to what their friends had just said, shrugging in a carefree manner.
"In all honesty? I couldn't agree more with you all even if I tried to." Her voice contrasted pretty sharply with her last statement. "But I didn't want to be berated by Rin-Rin for being a shortsighted leader yet again, you know? Two times in the same day would be too much, so I decided to act responsibly, for once." At least, this meant everyone was more or less on the same page, right? Thinking that the fight would be over soon enough, she began to take a quick look around the dome where they currently were.
And immediately understood why this was their next; even if not entirely natural, the brunette understood why this place seemed to be the dragons' main nest. It was solidly built, and it could make a perfect base of operations, going forward.
That made her smile. "Once Anzu's done taking the trash out, you guys think we should set the main camp in here, or that we'd go and look for another place? I honestly think it can't get much better than this. Not to say that now we'll be able to employ the DexDorugamons as workers."
Even if Amy had stumbled upon the thought by accident, she found herself liking the idea more and more as it came out of her mouth. "The smell may not be the best, but I'm not the type to refuse an instant workforce. What do you think? It's looking pretty good to me."
Funny how the situation had shifted from completely tense to relatively calm —on her stead, at least— relatively quickly. Her mind began to trace how the construction would progress, unconsciously prompting a small smirk when factoring the raptors' impressive numbers.

Rinji inwardly cringed at how savage the fight was. It was hard to keep the conversation going without cursory glances to Anzu and the alpha's fight. Hopefully, Anzu wouldn't prove the team's beliefs in her skills wrong. Despite the odds, they were more than in her favour.
Amelie's joke deserved an amused snort. "I'm supposed to be the one with bad vision," he added in jest. "In most relationships, it's the Digimon that's meant to be the irresponsible one." It was strange, but it was also funny, that between a human and a Digimon, he'd become the voice of reason.
He listened, interested, to Amelie's suggestion as the DexDorugamon duked it out. "That would take a lot of work off our shoulders." Something else that was apparent to him was also worth a mention. "And where there are wild Digimon, there's a water source. You have my vote."
His face did scrunch up at the idea of DexDorugamon scented employees, no offence to Anzu. But if they were good workers, what could he complain about? It was only another item on the list of things he'd have to get used to in the Dark Area. Unless...
"Can we at least try and give them a bath?" He begged. Yes, the idea of giving a DexDorugamon a bath was silly. And, unfortunately, it wasn't a joke. Though the others may have found the idea of a squeaky clean dragon rather amusing. Rubber ducky included.
The fight between Anzu and the alpha continued. The headache inducer of a head bash had bought him a few seconds of give, but Anzu's focus on keeping him pinned down meant he could only attempt to rake at her stomach with his back legs.
Any other struggle to break free was met with gravity plus Anzu, an equation that was slightly too much for the brute to handle. He went to flip her when...
CRACK!
She head-butted him!
A split raced down the steel of his helmet, and one side fell away. Exposed beneath, the inner workings of an organic dragon overtaken by mechanised components. Grey, grungy matter spooled out from its former container, and fell onto the ground in clumps.
The alpha stopped to look at the damage, and laughed.
"Ahahahaha." His voice was not deep, but high pitched and gravelly. "I concede."
It was clear, even for this 'mon, that DexDorugamon were savage, not stupid.
The other Dexes hissed to each other in uncertainty. Their selected leader had failed them. Grudgingly, they merged into the greater group. Anzu's. The fight was finished.
Only airy, troublesome questions remained.

"One, yes, this would be a good spot to start setting things up as long as we...well, clean the place up. It smells odd." Akemi noted. And it was a crappy kind of odd, too. "Also, yeah, Digimon -are- irresponsible. Just look at Anzu. Gonna need to give her a bath after this whole mess is done with!"
Meanwhile, over with Anzu, the fight hit it's peak right then and there, for as the brute was able to get the dragon off of her, the dragon's head made contact with his own, cracking it and splitting it open on one side. It was then and there that the former alpha revealed he could talk. And that he also sounded entirely like something she wasn't really expecting. The DexDorugamon backed away, staring--almost glaring at the people around her.
"Tell me. What are you. Why are you here. What do you do here. Tell me everything."

At least it was clear that faith in Anzu was strong! As the twins established that they weren't in any particular danger, both kept eyes close on the fight. There were occasional jabs in the air from Elsie, who was acting more like she was watching boxing on television. And, surely what was already expected of Evie, she would only observe in silence. After all, it seemed the most productive way of processing how others fought!
Though, neither would argue to the idea of a free workforce, of course! "We can always buy some air fresheners," Elsie suggested, half-joking. She wasn't going to try to convince these beasts to take baths! It was probably worse than bathing unruly dogs!
Luckily, though, a winner was soon made clear!
The voice of the opponent, though, was a little surprising! Even the more analytical sibling raised an eyebrow, while subtly jabbing an elbow into Elsie. While it may have just seemed like a mean sibling-gesture, if anyone had sharp enough ears, they might have realized that the small, pained squeak that Elsie emitted had originally been a snicker. She couldn't help that she had expected a far more fierce sounding opponent for Anzu! Of course, it was unlikely to be noticed anyway, considering Anzu wasn't done talking.
Which was good! The twins didn't want to make enemies out of the creatures that were settled! Even if they did smell bad!

Plans were already in motion, it seemed! Amelie couldn't avoid rubbing a portion's of Rinji's armor somewhat affectionately, laughing a bit in tandem with him. "Right now, it seems like you're the responsible one, Rin-Rin." Her tone was even, if a bit teasy. "Maybe that means you're the human and I'm the digimon? I'd be fine with that, honestly."
Of course, this place and situation weren't the type that allowed for her to joke too much. They had work to do and matters to discuss; regarding things that probably were more important in the grand scope of things... finding a way for the DexDorugamons to not smell probably was something necessary and that they'd like to accomplish in order for pretty much anything with olfactory abilities to avoid throwing up at their mere presence.
"If Anzu can rein them all, we can probably tell her to help us give 'em a bath? Seems like the whole pack is quite fond of her... even though the addition of air fresheners doesn't seem like a bad idea." She made a pause, before stating the obvious. "After all, they are still... zombies, aren't they? I'd be surprised if the only thing needed for them to smell nice was something as simple as a shower."
In any case, that was something the group either would get used to... or fix to the dragons' 'interesting' odor. For now, there was something way more important to be done, maybe even more important than the whole 'ask the big bad what their deal is'.
"Hey, Anzu~!" She called out towards her. "While you get some answers from that guy, can you order your boys to begin working on the dome? I decided that we'll set our main camp in here, so there's plenty of work to be done and a lot of spare talons that should take care of that."
Better if they got started on making this place habitable by non-zombie dragons sooner rather than later!

The ex-alpha lowered his head at Anzu's questions, akin to a submissive, tired bow. To start with her first question...
"I am no different to you," he said, the hole in his head still glaringly grotesque. "Otherwise, I would have broken the Oath of Silence."
This earned a quiet shuffle of sick, red stares from the crowd of DexDorugamon. They were still there, listening, intent. Judging what would be said.
"This is the nest. Years? Yes, years ago, it used to be a part of Serial Forest." He paused, uncomfortable with the simple, mundane act of story telling. "There used to be a port here to the human world, but I digress. This place," he gave a glance to the carved ceiling, "was a refuge."
"Outsiders came, extracted the data here, and left. Some of us left afterwards, some stayed and... took the corruption." The final part was said delicately, though he didn't sound bothered by the concept. "The port closed, and it's as you see now. I see you're looking to change that."
He stopped and turned his head towards the others. "We don't trust strangers," he stated. The DexDorugamon crowd bristled. Still, it was clear they were honour bound to obey whoever was in charge. In this case, Anzu.
Abruptly, he turned to join the rest of the crowd. "If you need me, ask for Onso."
For Rinji, the concept of a digital role reversal was an amusing one. Perhaps it was even possible, if he used his holosuit and Amelie spirit evolved...
The lurid thought went to the back burner. With Anzu's victory came new developments. If the DexDorugamon were actually intelligent, then getting them to bathe and put up some air fresheners wouldn't be such a far-fetched idea.
Neither was the idea that he'd been destroying potentially innocent Digimon. At first it'd been self-defence, but what could he say about... about...
It was better not to think about it. The past couldn't be changed, but they could offer a better future.
"Amelie?" He gently nudged her side with his head, careful not to send her tipping over. "I can help find that water source I mentioned earlier," he offered. "You could stay here to help direct the 'Dorugamon, and I can take Elsie or Evie."
If they found the water source, they could set up camp next to it. Just in time for dinner.

Oath? What oath? She had heard of no such oath. Anzu let out a mechanical chitter as she pondered the...well, knowledge being unloaded by this DexDorugamon. She hadn't taken them for intelligent in the slightest. Likely her own mistake.
This place. There had been more to it. This much Anzu was aware of. There had been a Digimental here. Why was that. Why. "...You work with my friends. That's an order. Also. Why was this Digimental here? Do you know about that, Onso?"
A final question. Plain and simple. She called out to Amelie. "Will do. Simply gathering knowledge. Getting used to this form." Once she got the answer, she'd set her newfound 'friends' to work on the dome.
"...You know, some air fresheners would be a good start." Akemi found herself agreeing with Elsie. "Plus, if they're actual dragon zombies...Maybe just staying clean would be a priority given there's a lot of stuff implied with...being undead and all that..." ...Dead skin, rotten flesh. Things that were mildly unpleasant to think about.
It was a good thing that this had gone far better than expected, though.

Hearing the interaction between Amy and Rinji, the twins both imagined the situation. "Amy makes a pretty spooky Digimon 'partner', not gonna lie," Elsie commented, with a half-smile. It wasn't meant to be an insult, but had anyone taken a good look at whatever that thing was?
Evie certainly had. "It's certainly an interesting form," she commented, thoughtfully. "Have you met any Digimon that look like your evolutions?" Was that an innocent question? It sounded like it! But, the green-eyed twin was trying to piece together a puzzle that nobody else would know about! Apparently, not even her sister!
On the bright side, it sounded like there were no problems with air fresheners. "Great! Think we'll be able to find a place that sells them anywhere in the Digital World?" If not, that was fine. Evie would just shove a few hundred into her infini-store next time they went to the human world, and bring them back. Easy enough to solve that problem! Unless one of them was carrying soap, or something. Then, baths would be the first choice for the time being.
Hearing their names, both twins turned their head back to Rinji. Elsie or Evie? Glances were exchanged, while the Offmon reached over and grabbed her sister's arm, giving it a small squeeze. While Hackmon seemed to maintain a neutral expression, the rookie leaned slightly into the squeeze. That was, until Evie let go, and a small light emitted. Now, she turned her head to see Evie standing in human form.
Brushing out blonde hair with her fingers, Evie gave a small smile. "Elsie has claws, so she may be more helpful in the case you need a digging partner," she suggested, clearly listening into the conversation between the centipede and the other spirit user.
This made Elsie scrunch her nose a little, confused about the situation. "Oh, uh, sure!" She was the better cook out of the two, anyway, if anyone wanted some help with preparing another meal! At least everything seemed like it should be pretty easy from here on out, as far as digging went!

Both twins' comments managed to make Amy smirk. She wasn't precisely proud of her digimon forms, but getting complimented about them felt nice; what could she say? "We just need to get Rin-Rin a holosuit, huh? Then we'd look like our true roles!" The inevitable followup was a short, yet entertained giggle.
Evie's question, on the other hand, managed to shift her expression, the result being a lot more thoughtful. "I guess that some digimon look like them, but not quite like them? At least the ones I've seen." Yeah, not the most precise answer ever, but it was true! "But If there are more around, I definitely wouldn't want to meet them. Not being self-loathing or anything, but they aren't precisely nice guys."
Everything was slowly being set up, and that prompted a smile to slowly take over Amelie's features. She was so focused on what to do next that she seemed almost unfazed at the giant centipede currently nudging his head against her body. "Oh?" For a second, she seemed a bit dumbfounded, even though that was a very good idea! "If they want to participate, sure! That'd help a lot."
A somewhat cursory glance alternated between the twins, coupled with a small smile that followed right afterward; it didn't take a genius to notice what was going on, and that was fine, considering how close the two seemed to be. In an instant, she closed the gap that separated her from Evie, then proceeded to side-hug her for a second or so.
"Don't worry; it won't be for long! Sides, we're gonna have a lot of fun over here, Evie! You look like a sharp cookie, so I'm sure your help at setting up and distributing the work crews will be an asset. So, shall we?" Her gaze shifted from the blonde to her sister and Rinji. "If you aren't successful, return in two hours or so. You don't want to miss dinner!"
The brunette nodded at Anzu, just as the DexDorugamons began to heed her orders regarding her vision on how this place should be 'fixed up', all while discussing the possibilities with her brand-new, cute assistant! Ranging from how the trash that the raptors hadn't bothered to take out should be disposed of to planning on strengthening the place's main structure, Evie's input on the matter would be greatly appreciated! It'd be somewhat exhausting to take care of everything, but the duo would hopefully work through it efficiently. And just in time to prepare dinner to boot.
All the cogs were slowly set in motion, at least regarding this modest beginning. While it was true that today hadn't been a day characterized by huge accomplishments —relatively, at least—, Amelie couldn't be more satisfied with the result. Had somebody asked her earlier today if they would get a full workforce, plus two spirit wielders and a tamer alongside her digimon enfranchised in this endeavor, Amy would've laughed the notion off, dismissing it as delirious.
However, they were here, finishing the preparations to work on the city's foundations, all while enjoying the company of new servants, allies, and... even friends, potentially! This would be their first step, and undoubtedly, a fond memory on the brunette's mind.
What else could she ask for? For all intents and purposes, this had been a golden opportunity that had been seized appropriately.
Truly, a diamond in the rough. [Exit Thread]

Onso stopped. More questions.
"The... digimental?" He turned back, his expression as blank as his crimson stare. "The egg!" He hissed. "How did you..." His demeanour faltered. "Never mind. It's yours now. Amazing that you could remove it," Onso spat. "It used to be mine."
Another, smaller drone scraped at the ground, and dared to step forward. She had a razor grin on her mouth. "Until you threw it away, Onso." The others immediately bristled at this infraction, but she continued. "Some of us didn't even get a chance, but you wasted yours by performing science experiments on your tamer." She audibly scoffed. "If they could even be called that."
A wind whistled through the chamber.
"But I suppose a tiny little Tsukaimon had you beat, didn't she? A purple hamster with wings still had room for a bigger brain than yours!"
Onso moved closer. "Quiet, Ezril. Or maybe I'll gut you like I did to her."
Satisfied, the drone stepped back into Anzu's crowd. "Oh, be careful not to step out of line, Onso... There's a new leader in charge now."
Anzu appeared to have things under control. The drones, including the only two that Rinji had ever heard actually talk, eventually went their separate ways. Though it looked like there'd be a tad more rivalry in the ranks than one would expect from the undead. Anzu had her work cut out for her.
Hive fights aside, it was next to heart-rending to see the twins split up. Rinji was almost bewildered. He hadn't expected them to take his suggestion at such... face value. Had it sounded like an order? It was really meant to be more of a voluntary thing for either of them to do.
"It's okay, uh, Elsie - we won't be gone for long. And I'd hug you too, but maybe that'd be a bit much." He was, after all, a something-dozen metres large centipede. And she was a Hackmon.
Besides... "Miss dinner? Not for this world, or the other."

"It was yours. And then you threw it away. You threw the human away too. Perhaps this was fate. Destiny. If those are true and real." The DexDorugamon mused, before she turned her back on Onso and stomped away, and towards the party. Her demeanor changed almost -instantly.-
"My fucking head hurts and it's not because of the holy card." The undead dragon growled. "What's new with you guys?" Akemi glanced to Anzu and decided to put it simply. "Small talk and dinner, want anything?"
A long moment of silence ensued before the dragon was engulfed in a dim light, and promptly replaced by Anzu's Tsukaimon form, proper. "HECK YEAH."

Role reversal was definitely a funny thing that the twins could get behind! Who knew, maybe they'd help find a way to pull together the tamer-partner-reversal look for Rinji and Amelie if they ever wanted to try it out! Not that it would probably work out too well, but still!
Evie definitely made note of Amelie's words on her spirits, though. While the first part could be considered vague, the personality that she was casting for the spirits certainly suited the creature that the twins had met before. Had the twins met the misfortune of running across one of these monsters during their first solo trip to the Digital World? Or was there something more than that?
Maybe questions would be answered over time. Or, maybe Evie would let their first fight fade into history.
For right now, it would definitely hit the back-burner, as she parted with her sibling, and found herself in a side-hug. They were too obvious, weren't they? A blush lit up the blonde's face, as she gave a shy smile. "It's fine!" She insisted, quickly. Was it embarrassing to be that obviously attached to someone? Maybe a little. "We have a lot of work to do, after all," which would make it illogical for the twins to stay glued to one another!
It hadn't been a demand. If either twin had realized they made Rinji feel bad, surely they would have tried to rectify it. But, neither processed it! Sure, it was a choice! But, they couldn't restrict the growth of the area, just because they were clingy!
The Hackmon scrunched her nose a little at how quickly her twin was to turn her back. Sure, she understood. But it didn't mean she liked it!
Turning to Rinji, the Hackmon put a smile on its face all the same. "As long as we make it back for food," she was quick to state, covering any disappointment in her sister going off to do other things. Making her way over to the centipede, the rookie prepared to head off for their part of this journey.
But, first, she had to make a comment on what he had said! "Let's hug once you get smaller and I get bigger, deal?"
Nobody could complain about food and hugging cute centipede monsters, after all!
