Sleep's one of the most valuable commodities in the world, as a fair few may tell you. Unfortunately for Naoko, she had not only gotten a hilariously irregular amount of sleep these past few days (thanks to numerous attempts to distract herself from some recent events that shant be retold), but she also wasn't going to be given the courtesy of being allowed to sleep in. Because that's for goddamn casuals. Nope, she got awoken by her mom shouting that someone was at the door. Did she make plans or something for today...? Not that she could recall. But she nonetheless willed herself out of the darn bed and out, passing her mom with a wave and a good morning and moving to answer the door...In a kigurumi. A cat one, to be precise. Ironic. Needless to say Naoko had answered the door looking less than nice. In an actually pretty nice neighborhood. Otohime

Otohime was super energised as always! Despite her delinquent nature she was a notorious early riser, as she had so much energy that her body could not stand wasting too much daylight! So, she had already been up by 6 am and spent some time scouring her teach's supply of materials for that thing Naoko wanted! Her pal'd seemed rather sad these days, so she wanted to surprise her!
At around 9, she stood before Naoko's door, and rung the doorbell. And lo and behold, there she was! Wearing a weird cat suit! How strange! "Oi, Naoko! Nice to see ya! Cool costume! You goin' somewhere? Oh! And look, I got the stuff you told me about yesterday!" She proudly presented a large tin of wood glaze. The name of the glaze was printed in large letters on the can. And the name was...Ligma.

"Uh..."
This was very strange for a multitude of reasons. Naoko rubbed her eyes and let out a big ol' yawn. "N-No, I just sleep in this..." That was by far the most embarrassing thing she's had to admit to someone so far. Naoko then stared blankly at the tin of glaze with a very...cursed word upon it.
Why did she tell her about that...? In hindsight she probably should've seen that coming from two miles out but...That was interesting. "...I didn't know that actually existed. Uh...I also...wasn't expecting you to actually show up at my door at 9 in the morning either..." What in the blazes was she supposed to do here? She tapped the tin of glaze and rubbed at her eyes. "...A-Aside from actually get dressed..."

"That's a weird-ass sleep dress, I always sleep in just me undies!" She kept grinning. She had left her mask at home today, likely because she wanted to let Naoko see her smile, in hopes that that would improve her mood, too.
"Aye, took me a while to find it, but Teach had some in his toolshed! Dunno why you'd want wood glaze, but hey, what do I know! Also why is 9 such a bad time to come here, yo? I've been waitin for 3 hours already, searchin for the glaze!
Eeeeh, i see nothin wrong with your funny pyjamas. But get dressed if ya wanna! Oh, can I come in?"

Now there were two things that Naoko noticed. One, Otohime as usual somehow managed to make her get flustered, and two, Otohime was missing her mask. Uh...Why was that? "...Hey, uh...Dude? Did...you forget your mask...?" It was a very earnest question, albeit barely audible.
There was also the fact that the ligma glaze existed but...It'd be really rude to decline it and that was the last thing Naoko wanted to do now, be more of a hassle than she probably already was... "...I'm sorry you wait that long. Uh...Come in. Change your shoes and stuff. Uh...I'll need a few minutes. Feel free to sit down somewhere." Naoko nodded, sloowly reaching out to grab the glaze and tromp off inside! "Also my pajamas aren't funny, they're CUTE." And she continued over to her room if she wasn't stopped.
Hopefully she wasn't followed!

Otohime smiled widely. "Oy, you're sad, aintcha? And people like smiles, dont they? So I decided to ditch the mask for today so ya can see a smile! Then ya can feel better!" She was -radiating- well-meaning kindness. More than one would think such a butch delinquent could muster!
Ah, an invitation? Sure thing! "Oh sure, I'll come in, thanks!" She then ditched her shoes at the door and entered.
And just as Naoko closed the door behind her to her room, Otohime spoke from her bed, the place she had decided to sit down upon. "Hey, this is a cool place!" How foolish of Naoko to assume that Otohime had the presence of mind to get that "find a place to sit down" meant "not in my room"!

Was it really that obvious?
Naoko did her best to give Otohime a smile. "...Thank you." It sounded a little strained. It looked a little forced. But it was a smile nonetheless. Of course! She didn't really notice that Otohime followed her in all the way to her room. Speaking of, Naoko's room was actually pretty clean. It was also incredibly...boring. Table. Desk. TV. Laptop atop said table.
Then one got to the walls. There were a few shelves of assorted figures from media that the girl enjoyed, and a few posters, too.
Now, when it came to Naoko herself, it took a few seconds for her to realize that Otohime had misinterpreted what she had meant. Horribly. "...Y-Yes, thank you, but could you step o-out for a few minutes? I can't...change with someone in here..." Why were her cheeks red?
Of course, she did forget that Otohime was a colossal knucklehead...

Boring perhaps to Naoko. To Otohime, a room like this was a treasure trove of interesting things! "Man, the room Teach gave me aint this fancy! It got no posters, and none of those PC or figurine thingies! And shit, your Tv is from after 1989! This is so coooool!" She blinked when Naoko asked her to step out. She looked confused. "Eh? Why? I don't get it...but hey, if you wanna, I will-a! See ya!" With this, she strode out. And after 5 seconds remembered to close the door. Naoko could still hear her hum one of the songs they danced to at the Arcade some time ago in front of the door.

"...Really...?" That was so strange to Naoko. But then again, the teach was an old fashioned fellow. So, it wouldn't be too out of character for him to pull something like that. Regardless, once Otohime had actually stepped out and closed the door, Naoko wasted no time in changing out of her pajamas into her usual jeans and a turtleneck.
And then she took a few moments to take a couple of deep breaths. Okay. What now? Your friend's here. You have a free day. May as well spend some time with her. Especially after she came up here to cheer you up...
...
Naoko moved to open her door to find Otohime humming one of the songs they danced. "S-sorry about that. Uh...Couldn't really change with someone else in the room...Is there anything you want to do? Er...Were planning?"
'cause she had zero idea what she should do when someone comes over unexpectedly.

When the door reopened, Otohime turned and smiled. "There y'are! Lookin' good as always!" Then she turned her head aside. "Eh? Can't change when someone's there? Why?" She seemed to genuinely not know. Fortunately, the question as to what to do pulled her mind away from this topic. "Oh, there's lots! We could go down to the Shakuji River and look for fish and old bicycles! Or we could go to Akihabara and laugh at the cosplayers! Oh! And we could go to the park and sit on the trees!" She seemed quite excited about these...unique ideas, it seems!

It only took but two seconds after Naoko opened the door for her to get hilariously flustered at Otohime's words. "O-Oh! Uh. Thanks. And...I'm not as...comfortable as you probably are with people seeing you in states of undress." That might have been too smart. Oh dear. What if it was too smart?
"...Hey, I cosplay!" Naoko stated, suddenly! "...Granted I cosplay on Halloween but...s-still!" Akibahara was a nice play to stop by, if only to shop...Or look at stuff...But the park?
Maybe some fresh air was what she needed. "I like the sound of the park, though...So...Let's go there?" She managed another smile, and also managed speaking after a few seconds of silence from her.

"Alright, the park, excellent! Let's go and get some fuckin' fresh air!" Otohime took Naoko by the hand, utterly ignorant to the potential implications, and pulled her out of the door. "The park's great! Teach helped landscape it back in the 80s! They got all kinds of cherry trees and azalea trees! And the pond has some nice lotuses, and ducks swim there, and I like to throw them food!~" Her pull was strong, her grip firm, yet she made sure it wouldn't be painful to Naoko. She was simply -so- excited to go to the park with her new friend!

"Maybe that's what I need, some actual fresh a-" Naoko had been cut off by the hand grab. Not only did this look hilarious but the implications ended up causing the teenager to go red in the face as she got whisked out of her room and out of her house. Did her mom see that? Maybe? She wasn't quite sure!
Madayoshi having helped the park back then was not something she wasn't expecting to hear. The man really got around. "W-We can get them food! I-It'll be great!" SURELY! Though, the way Otohime had been describing the park made it sound far grander than it may have been.
One would need to see this for themselves.

It...really wasn't anything special. Sure, it was a pretty little park, but not as huge as Otohime had hyped it as. Though the girl was thrilled to be here, smiling widely and even patting an alley of sakura trees, saying her teach had planted these. For as small as the park was, Otohime was very clearly fond of it. She had something to say about every tiny thing, up to and including a little statue bearing the likeness of former Prime Minister Shigeru Yoshida. Eventually, they reached a small pond, with carp swimming beneath the surface and ducks quacking away. "And here's the pond! See that little island over there in the middle? I swam there one summer! Man, the police weren't happy when they had to hop in too to get me! Hahaha, anyway, got any duck food?"

The park may not have been anything special. That was okay. That didn't really matter. What did matter was that Naoko found herself having fun. It was a sort of unexplainable thing, but did it really matter if it could be explained or not? What helped was the fact Otohime seemed incredibly thrilled just to be here. "...You know this place like the back of your hand, don't you?" It sure seemed like it.
It was honestly kind of impressive. Now, Naoko did indeed bring duck food with her. One may have expected her to be a moron and bring bread but no. She brought a combo of rice and grapes in a bag to throw to the ducks. She offered said bag over to Otohime. "Take your pick and get to feeding them. Also...uh. I went swimming once. That was actually pretty nice...Though I never got stranded on that island. Nope. Or in the lake."
