This is a combined MPC for MPC54B and MPC54C. Since the plots for both MPCs are connected I decided to do them inside the same thread, but they're separated by two different posts.
PART I (MPC54B):
Even though Shibuya’s High school was pretty much filled with every kind of students, having one of the densest student population across Japan, Katherine still didn’t feel so sure about having lend Jazz, her Lopmon partner holosuited into a human girl around her age, one of her uniforms and bringing her into school as if she were another regular student. Right now, as the duo walked through a riverside venue to get to the building they could see not far away, the brunette could actually feel all eyes over the two; maybe it was her imagination, although maybe they had seen through her deceiving tactics and noticed Jazz didn’t really belong to that school, or maybe it was the fact that Jazz’s holosuit had, well… extremely long pink hair. In any case, the vacations were over, the adventures around the Digital World had been paused for a while and now it was time to go back to school. Katherine’s last year of senior school was starting and after this, she would be off to college. The last months had been definitely life-changing for the girl, and this day of school was nothing like the last one she had before vacations since, while she already knew Jazz by then, this was the first time she was bringing that life-changing element to school with her: her digimon partner, holosuited into a girl around her age.
-Why do you guys would use something so uncomfortable to go learning? –Jazz asked as she popped some buttons of her white blouse open, below her jacket. To be honest, the bunny didn’t like at all being holosuited, and even though she had accepted to use it again this time for the same reason she had accepted to do it when they went downtown to the arcades or to the museum: her undying curiosity, a uniform was more than she could handle.
-It’s called a uniform! –Katherine replied, quickly jumping to button up her partner’s blouse. –And it’s a matter of discipline and respect.
-Discipline? I thought you came here to learn. –The pink haired girl frowned, questioning the need for such clothes for learning.
-You do. But having discipline and respect is an important part of learning. –Katherine let go of the girl’s blouse after buttoning it up. –Just stay on your clothes okay? Or you’ll get in trouble. –Even though the concept of clothing wasn’t something Jazz would understand perfectly fine just yet, she really wanted to see what a human school was like, so she contained herself from arguing.
After arriving to the school, the girls made their way through the halls and into Katherine’s classroom, where the class had not started, and some students were just relaxing, chatting between them.
-Why all the people you say hi to don’t have one of these? –Jazz asked, taking a seat on a chair next to the window, and looking down to her clothing.
-You mean a uniform? Cause those are teachers. –Katherine explained. –They are the ones who are going to teach us stuff.
The pink haired girl gasped. –So they know a lot, right? –She asked excited.
-Yes, they’re supposed to know lots of stuff.
-That means you’re pretty smart, Kath, to be friends with the smartest of them all.
Katherine lowered her view, in a sad manner. –Well… it's not quite like that. –The girl had always had trouble making friends around her age, even on middle-school, she was basically the loner, afraid of the other might think the things she liked were stupid or boring, she had always decided to stay away from everyone. Even though these last months meeting different types of tamers had helped her improve her social skills, spending most of her vacations inside an isolated world filled with digital creatures was probably not the best way of making friends at school. The girl shook her head, trying to take her head off this topic, and addressed Jazz.
-For now, you can sit wherever you like, Jazz. We’ve got permanent seats here. –The brunette explained. –Those are given at the start of the year, and won’t change until the end. Since I’ll tell Mr. Nakamura you’re just a friend coming from Spain that’s on vacation and wants to learn a little about Japanese culture, he’ll probably give you a temporary seat that’s empty when he’s done giving out seats.
Once the class started, Mr. Nakamura accepted Jazz (Who Katherine always introduced like Jazmin, for convenience purposes) as a one-time student. Honestly, the fact that Katherine had befriended almost every teacher around campus, probably had got her a long way plenty of times, and this was one of them. Just as the girl predicted, Nakamura gave ‘Jazmin’ a one-time-only seat, for her to listen to the class this time. The pink haired girl sat through the whole class, paying much attention to everything the man said, during his ‘World History’ class. To be honest, for Katherine, it was pretty adorable to see Jazz so quiet and focused; if the Lopmon and the brunette had something in common it was what they called undying curiosity, the need to know everything the world around them had to offer and even beyond. It was then relatable for the girl that her digimon partner was so fascinated about knowing everything about the human world, since she felt the same way about knowing everything about the Digital World and the marvelous creatures who lived in it.
-So, did you like it? –Katherine asked her partner, while everyone left the classroom for lunch-break.
-Of course! This place called… ancient Egypt, right? I’m definitely going to read a lot about that when we get home. –The tamer was concerned Jazz spent too much time on the Internet reading about stuff, but she couldn’t blame her, she had over two hundred thousand years of history to learn.
As the duo walked outside the classroom, some gazes went over the pink haired girl again.
-Oh, oh! So that place is still around right? Do you think we could go there? –Though the holosuited bunny didn’t seem to care much, as she kept talking to Katherine about the things she learned. –I loved how this ancient Egypt place sounds, but to be honest, I think my favorite age is still the medieval times.
While they had lunch on Katherine’s usual spot: next to the school fountain around the gardens, Jazz spent most of the time speaking about all the things inside the human world she wanted to know. Just near finishing, she suddenly changed the subject.
-So, if I weren’t here… Would you be eating alone?
-Well… yes. –Katherine answered, plainly.
-But… why? –Jazz asked as she took another bite of that egg sandwich Katherine had cooked for her that morning. –What about your smart friends? –She added, after swallowing.
Katherine sighed, forced to answer Jazz’s questioning. –Those are teachers… I should be spending time with other students. –The girl replied.
-And why aren’t you?
-I’m not good… -Katherine made a brief pause and sighed. –…at making friends.
-That’s nonsense! –Jazz stood up promptly. –Who wouldn’t want to be your friend? –Before Katherine could throw any kind of response, the central clock made its classical sound, announcing it was time to go back to class.
-Let’s go, we shouldn’t be late. –The brunette stood up and her pink haired partner followed.
As they made their way through the school’s hallways, and when they were about to reach Katherine’s classroom, Jazz noticed a group of students carrying some sort of medieval helmets and armors. She immediately recognized this, because she had read lots of books about the middle ages.
-Real knights? –The digimon mumbled, following the group, who took a turn to the next aisle. Upon following them, she noticed there was another human boy carrying a dragon head like it was part of a costume. –A dragon head? –The girl simply merged with the group of around 7 students, none of them noticing her presence. Meanwhile, Katherine, who had kept walking through the main hallway, went up the stairs, leaving her partner behind without noticing.
The group of students Katherine had decided to follow, had stopped in front of a door another student was blocking while he was telling them something.
-I think we’ll have to cancel today’s session. –The boy said, sadly.
-It can’t be! But if it’s the first day! –One of the boys from the group carrying the armor said, effusively.
-Is there nothing we can do? –Some girl asked. She was carrying some sort of red plastic giant wings.
-Well… those are wasps. They probably built a nest there during summer due to someone leaving a window open. –The boy explained. -We’re going to have to wait for the school to call a fumigation team during the week, I’m sorry.
-Awww, but we were so excited to start!
Wasps? Jazz knew a thing or two about those, she had started that animal glossary Katherine had in her room some days ago. It was in Spanish, so ‘Avispas’ (wasps, in Spanish) were just at the start of the book.
-I think I can help you. -Everyone turned to see the long pink haired girl.
-You… can help? –The boy at the door asked, his eyes widened.
-Sure, bring me some peppermint spray, you probably can find that at the nurse office. –The girl then raised her view thinking. –I’m also going to need a fan; could you get that for me?
The group stared blatantly at the girl, pretty confused.
-Do you want your room back today or no? Move! –She added.
The girl holding the dragon wings nodded. –Yes! Let’s do it!
Once having the implements she needed, the task wasn’t a complicated one for Jazz. Wasps hated peppermint, so with the help of the fan, having scattered the scent of the spray around the room made them go away in a matter of some minutes.
Meanwhile, Katherine waited for the next teacher, Mrs. Yamano, to arrive. She had already been waiting for some minutes.
-Where could she be? –The girl mumbled. And most importantly, where could Jazz be? The girl had lost track of her partner at some point during going back to the classroom after lunch. It was of great relief when another teacher announced Mrs. Yamano hadn’t come back from her vacation trip to London, so she wouldn’t be able to teach the class today, and since there were no substitutes available, the group was off for the day. That meant she could go look for Jazz right away.
The girl could only hope she wasn’t getting into too much trouble, as she went down the stairs back into the first floor. She then saw a random student just lying next to a classroom.
-H-hi! Excuse me… -The brunette addressed the boy. How hard could it be to find a pink haired girl everyone was looking at constantly? –Did you see a girl with pink… hair around here? –The girl wasn’t expecting to get a positive answer in her first attempt, but she did.
-Oh? Yes, I actually did. She was hanging with the Live Action Roleplaying Club. –He replied.
-The… what? –After asking for directions, the girl went running through the halls, heading to the classroom at the end of the hallway by the back side of the school, upon reaching she noticed the door was open so she decided to peek in. There seemed to be a group of around 7 boys and girls reunited at the center of the classroom.
-And just like that, today we’ve found a new member for our club, who will join us in this new adventure. –One of the boys said. -Please give a warm welcome to our savior, wasp exterminator and noble warrior who helped us free our classroom from the attack of those horrible monsters…! –At the center of the circle, formed by the students, there was a someone wearing armor and a helmet, just like a medieval knight. It seemed like they were starting a roleplaying session of some sort. They all were dressed in medieval times clothes, one of them seemed like a witch, using a big hat, another one had a robe like he was some sort of elf and one of the boys had cardboard knives. When Katherine noticed the pink hair coming out the helmet of the person they were inducting, her eyes widened.
-… So without further due, put your hands together for the mighty knight… Jazz!
