>Just as we thought - it didn't take that long to get Luminas' attention. >If it was just them, we wouldn't be in this sort of mess. >Regardless. Is it done? >Yes. Well ahead of schedule. >We'll have to interpret the data back at Paradise, but at least this was done without a hitch. >... >... You know what I mean. >I'm updating our coordinates for exit...
Connection from Hunting Grounds
"Thank you for visiting the Safe House!"
Given the ordeal that Titania, Naoko, and Fladramon had been through the past hour, the cheerful and robotic voice of the cafe's imagined PA system probably grated on their ears like nails on a chalkboard. By this point, the armored Digimon would have learned that this place, in fact, did not serve the alcohol he was looking for - but, thankfully, he only had to endure such treatment for ten or so minutes.
At that very declaration, a 'click' could be heard just outside the door of the cafe, a portal opening to what looked to be a remote section of Whitewater's beach.
"Sakkakumon will be disappearing soon. Threats outside exceed safe limits for our patrons, so please exit in an orderly fashion. Responsibility will not be assumed for those that remain!"
Cheerful as it sounded, as soon as the PA cut off, the three would simply be greeted with the noise of that portal whirring outside - and no news of Tawna's condition. Connection from The Ringmaster
Back in the destroyed circus, Kan, Timothy, and Bibi would not have been left alone for too long. Though the General's and Cassandra's attention were needed elsewhere, Angel had soon rolled back around to watch over the two. The Renamon didn't hold her prior form, however, simply remaining Xros'd with a BladeKuwagamon that left her with metal gauntlets and a rapier sheathed at her side.
And no, she was not the most talkative, spending more of her time staring down at a communication device. Her responses to the group would have been limited to one-word answers, until she was finally given the 'signal'.
"Alright, now its gotten to the point where we need you three to vamoose." Standing up, the fox pointed off to the left - and in that direction, a blue portal, opening to a peaceful expanse on Whitewater's beach, opened up. "Use that to leave. The D-Reaper's still outside, so you have a good five minutes to haul your asses out of here."
With that, Angel gave her salute, and seemingly vanished on the spot - though nearby, the 'eyeball gate' at the end of the room remained open, leading towards the center... Connection from Your Reflection and Urban Metal
Ultimately, the group would have a choice. The pathway had been opened to them - as was Sakkakumon's design - but through no fanfare or announcement, a kind-looking blue portal to Whitewater did open up, looking as if it led to Whitewater - and if any who were able checked their own devices, they would see that they would be able to program their own escapes as well. However, for those that did decide to proceed through the red hallway, through the center, they would likely find themselves at a disadvantage:
Cloak. Dagger. Angel. Demon. Two ultimate level knight types and two ultimate level Xros's, based around a Renamon and a Devidramon, would have their focus around that single entrance. This central room was far less 'disguised' than the rest, simply holding the red texture of a spherical shell.
Positioned right at the center was another stone effigy, one that Amelie might have been familiar with at this point: Another Sovereign, Azulongmon. As with Baihumon, this statue was lined with hairline cracks and the wear of time - but as opposed to a repair, the light of a data scanner was currently running over its frame. Nearby, a Mirrormon gave the last click at a nearby console, loading the last of the needed data away into several USB drives.
One would immediately be handed over to the general - the masked man in a theater mask - and should any from the mirror hall have made their way here? They would find a USB tossed in their direction (to Amelie, or, if unavailable, to Adrian). "Copy this. Plaster it across Tamernet. Otherwise, we're done here."
"Mhm." The Mirrormon returned a nod - this one much more animated than the last. "I'll release Sakkakumon. The effigy's return will disrupt the Reaper outside, and we should be able to leave before Luminas asks too many questions."
The plan was simple - and regardless of whether or not everyone was in agreement, the form would start to fade... Connection to Emerging Consequences and An Urban Nightmare
Suffice to say, Isaac's effort on the predictable Horn Striker worked wonderfully: even ignoring the heat element, the powerful blast struck right at the beast's lower section forced it to taper off its movement. A quick kick and follow-up from the Shaininmon severed the cord straight through, this agent cut down in a remarkable span of time...
... But that was far from the center of attention right now. "Hm?" No, the data in the air began to shift, as the Temple of Sakkakumon started to rumble in the distance. Cloak would likely receive a message from Emma, to instruct the related group to vacate the premises as soon as possible. Though... What would happen next? No-one truly had the ability to predict.
Sakkakumon's form de-digivolving was a different feat than most. Rather than disseminating one body of data, this also meant the 'placement' of the rest - and, logically, Emma decided to separate the groups.
Should any have remained, the 'visiting groups' would be put off to the 'left', while those of Metal Drive would be placed 'on the right', a good hundred feet away from the center. The spirit wielder, herself, would appear directly below where the Sakkakumon had appeared, directly next to the effigy of Azulongmon - its potent data signal already causing the D-Reaper agents around to click and seemingly 'twitch' in place.
Not that it mattered: the General and Emma were both quick to try and bring up their portals. But before they could? A brilliant blue light began to radiate from the effigy. "What the-"
"Oh, hell!"
Clearly, this was not in the plan. The skies above, clear just a moment ago, quickly darkened with the static-filled clouds of a dangerous storm, lightning and thunder cracking dangerously close with deafening blasts. And in one surge, directly from the center, the light would explode out, upwards in a pillar of sheer data and energy. A dragon's roar, not heard in an aeon, would shake the land.
Not an effigy. But the real Sovereign, Azulongmon, angrily peered down across the D-Reaper scarred desert - heedless of anything else in its path. In all of this?
The General lost his composure, instead looking aghast towards the center.
"EMMA!!!!"

Cassandra awoke cheek pressed against a cold metal floor and lips painted red with her own drying blood. The slow realization she had blacked out after her jump back to Dreadnought slowly dawned upon her as the effort and the ensuing spike of pain from the Reaper upon her arrival had proven too much for the weakened Tamer. Struggling the Doctor tried to lift herself, wiping the back of her hand across her mouth and ignoring the way her crimson glowing blood smeared across her gloves as she hoisted her shaking form up by Dreadnought's railings.
Only to scream...or at least she thought perhaps she had screamed, but in that blinding moment of flashing light the Doctor could not tell if it was her own hoarse broken voice crying out in terror and agony or that of the Reapers. For suddenly glowing crimson eyes found themselves meeting lightning blue orbs bigger then the woman was tall as Dr. Cross stared fangs bared, limbs locked in terror and defiance, into the face of a god.
Below them Cloak lunged. The Dark Knightmon reacted on instinct as he grasped the General around the middle pulling the human back and off his feet before he could leap forward to his death. Humans in his experience were fragile creatures, but if not killed outright could stubbornly survive nearly anything.
"Angel! Grab Emma! You have the best chance with your teleportation!" Cloak snapped out taking command as the ex Dark General fell back into his old role.
"Dagger cover her with your shield!" The Dark Knightmon ordered as his twin gave a sharp salute and would tug the Renamon forward if she remained frozen in fear too long. leaving the black armored digimon to turn his gaze fully to the masked man in his grip.
"General get your portal open. If she's still breathing and if Hime isnt...if Hime isn't dead we can still save her but not here. We must retreat." Cloak ground out his tone leaving no room for argument.
Distantly in Hiro's arms Char watched on in horror the little Monitamon practically shaking in fear. "Run." He whispered. "We have to run before this place becomes a disaster zone." He warned.

Kan had to admit that even with all the pain and a fight that he ended up losing he had enjoyed himself a small bit. With only a few fights to his name in the digital world he wondered quietly if what he did was actually meaningful. That if perhaps he had fought just for simply nothing. Resting in this circus had given him some time to reflect but seeing the renamon again gave him a bit of a twitch. He could feel L-mon somewhere in the back grumpily rolling in their 'sleep'. He didn't try to interact with the renamon as he figured she wouldn't be chatty. She didn't seem the sort at all. However when something he couldn't see was given she deigned to speak to them. Pointing out that the group needed them to leave. Then the portal opened up to a familiar city; or at least the beach of which. He'd stare out of the portal for a short time; slowly reaching towards it. It was safe.It was home.He could rest and healHe could live to see another day. These simple thoughts kept his hand going but upon almost touching the portal his hand fell flat. He stared longer and harder at the calm beaches; the place he called home. The place that he could hobble his way to where he needed to go. He could feel the tug of the place harder than most. He'd close his eyes and sigh softly. The renamon had already left them; left them to their decisions. Silvermon.Yes?I'm in a bad way but...You want to see what happens next don't you?Yes. So please. Lend me your strength again my Friend. You didn't even need to ask. But this will likely do your body worse. Might need to see an actual doctor in an actual appointment after this...Kan's form was quickly taken over by Silvermon sporting a few new scars from kan's own body thanks to the fight that had occured earlier. The form stretched a little bit and let out a soft sigh hand placing itself on the pommel of the sword. Only a short time passed before he was out of the Sakkakumon. Off to the left of some he didn't recognize and a few that he did. His head sweeped around curiously taking in what had happened here. Hearing the General speak he'd turn to look at where that brilliant blue light radiated from. Then following suit the sky which was clear for the most part darkened into a dangerous looking storm. Lightning and thunder making themselves known; bringing a few flinches here and there. But what made him freeze was a roar that he had never heard; one that shook the very land that he stood on causing the silvermon to jump in surprise. His head turned and the Azulongmon stared down across the desert. He had heard that there were digimon that stood above the rest; creatures of unrivaled power. Their titles varied and their strength did too; but with the little bit he knew of the religion in the digital world. This very possibly could be a Sovereign. The silvermon glanced back at the group that had instigated all of this before slowly and firmly turning his head to the sky. He'd sigh softly and speak; sounding a little pained but also somewhat on guard. "What happens when gods make themselves known? I suppose we're about to find out. But all things considered I hope he's on our side..."

It was kind of tense in the bar. Naoko had honestly fallen asleep by that point and had also been...silently grieving. Could anyone blame her? Not really? Maybe? What happened could've probably been prevented if she had...you know. Gotten Titania to engage in a harsher pursuit of the Meicrackmon...Okay, admittedly, she was sort of coming in and out of consciousness before the message that Sakakumon would dissipate soon came on.
"I hope that cues you in. I'm out of here." Came the voice of a Puttimon. Titania just hopped on out of the place with no hesitation. Not a single other word was said.
Some may call that overdramatic. Some may call that biting. There were a lot of things to refer to this as. And Naoko didn't feel like she could fight anymore. Or do anything else. The girl picked herself up and trudged out of the Safe House and into the portal. It had been a long day.
Just let it finish.

Post by Elliot and Isaac Sunderland on Sept 29, 2018 6:06:37 GMT
Isaac let out a roar of triumph as the Horn Striker fell. He whipped his head around in search of his next target, sparks dancing around his claw all the while. "I can do this all day," he said, eyes darting the horizon for any further agents converging on his location. Even as a tremendous light exploded from where Sakkakumon once stood he found himself looking up towards it. It was as if he was fully prepared for a fight. "Who's ne-!?"
Isaac's jaw promptly hit the floor as he realized, indeed, who was next.
He had seen many Digimon in his time. Many of those had been dragons. And many of those had been very powerful dragons. This, however, was something else entirely. Its roar alone- no, its mere presence, was enough to send the earth shaking beneath everyone's feet. The pillar of data from its emergence pierced through the cloud above like a godly lance. And its coils seemed to stretch across every portion of the storm-darkened sky. If Elliot was here, he would've surely made some joke about the eternal dragon, Shenron. Except even the more lighthearted of the two brothers would've likely been stunned into silence by the sheer power currently on display. Isaac found himself unable to take his eyes off of what could only be described as a divine being.
Were he still bound to the human world, he would have likely known this as little more than a Digimon of exceptional power. Were he a member of Team Metal Drive, he would have known exactly how bad of a situation he was in right now. Unfortunately, all Isaac had was the worst of both options; the knowledge that there were beings of immense power known as the Four Sovereigns, almost akin to gods of the Digital World. And here he was now, looking up at what could only be the azure dragon itself, Azulongmon.
He stood in stunned silence. And then he raised his hands to the sky, trying his hardest to look Azulongmon in its eyes. "Please!" he shouted, almost as if trying to get its attention. Since arriving in this desert, Isaac had wanted answers. Everything he had witnessed thus far had just left him more confused than ever. The instincts gnawing at his head made it clear that the Reaper was an even larger problem than he could ever fathom. The warnings of Doctor Cross made him reconsider everything about who wanted to help him and who wanted him dead. And the Reaper's own words left Isaac wondering if his quests had any point to them. He was lost. He was confused. And, as he was all too happy to bury under his bravado, he was frightened. Now a being that could quite literally have all the answers, and all of the power to help those beneath it, had just descended back to this earthly realm.
Was it any wonder that Isaac immediately took off towards the eye of the storm?
All the while, Isaac kept his hands up in absolution. The last thing that he wanted was for a literal god to think that he was a threat, even if the furthest thing to a credible one possible. And as he flew, he came not with a killer's intent but instead with words. "There are people down here, suffering," he said, raising his voice as loudly as he needed to in order to compete with the deafening roar of the thunder. "Good people. Who have had their friends and partners killed. Their minds tormented. Their own lives, stolen away from them. All by a program that says it wants to do what's best for this world. To save us from extinction, from ourselves. And yet everything it saves, it seeks only to destroy.
It took everything from me. My connection with my world. My time with my loved ones. My own body. I know I'm not the first, and I know if it isn't stopped I will not be the last. So almighty Sovereign, please!" As he roared to the heavens he blinked, surprised to find his eyes slick with oily tears. It seems even the blank slate of MetalGreymon was resonating with the sheer desperation in Isaac's heart. "Tell me, why is this happening? And how can we stop this? And . . . and . . .
Even if it's too late for me, can you please help everyone here? They don't deserve this. They don't deserve any of this."

It wasn't long until Amelie's form vanished and back into her human self. Like always, she staggered momentarily as her senses came back to her. That had been an exhausting fight, but, luckily... nobody had sustained grievous injuries, or that's what she'd like to believe.
Slowly, she helped Rinji stand up, while staring at the path ahead. Was it okay for them to continue, despite being somewhat battered from the previous fight? The brunette wasn't entirely sure, but... she wanted to get to the bottom of this; it was the desire to discover what was behind this thing and help in any way she could what had driven her this far, and, being honest with herself, the reason why she wouldn't back down, even now.
Once again, she advanced through, even though... a surprise was waiting for her at the end of the tunnel. She couldn't but wonder what were Cloak and Dagger doing in this place, alongside two digimon she hadn't seen ever before, even though their characteristics mirrored some Amy definitely had. All of them were standing near an effigy, even though nobody seemed to be working in order to restore it, as weird as that was.
Not like she would be given a lot of time to process this, however; soon enough a Mirrormon standing nearby tossed a USB in her direction, something that had taken Amelie by surprise, her hands barely catching it before wondering what in tarnation was inside the flash drive.
She listened to the instructions, but before we could answer to any of that... Sakkakkumon faded, it's form giving way to the terrain outside and the people currently there. Interestingly enough, the teenager could recognize some, even if... before any pleasantries could happen, an enormous figure made itself known. A dragon so big and majestic that her own existence seemed insignificant in comparison. Such a presence was so awe-inspiring that any thoughts about the situation or her own safety were brushed apart on that very instant.
Amy just stared ahead, basking into the magnificence of the being making his presence known.

'What would happen next'?
If things had gone according to plan, Kan's decision would have proven nothing other than inconvenient for himself. Metal Drive's movements were based entirely on the fact that Luminas' response to Sakkakumon's appearance - as well as the D-Reaper nest - were close at hand. At the very least, he and anyone else who didn't manage to get out would have been questioned by the angels to try and get a record of what had happened here.
That occurrence, compared to this, would have been a godsend. Instead, both he and Amelie found themselves staring at the angered dragon, in their own varied levels of awestruck. "Damn it, the heck are you doing! I told you to get out!" The Renamon's voice was leveled harshly at the Silvermon, her ear twitching as Cloak belted out that order. Still, she had no hesitation past that, the sand kicking up at her feet as she made a tear towards the base of the dragon's emergence. Tch! She could already feel the latent energy, static building up in her fur. "Keep your feet on the ground, Dagger!"
She could feel what was about to happen next. The Devidramon kicked off as well, the Devidramon landing heavily in front of Kan and Amelie's group, red static dancing off of his metal claws. "Get behind. Or brace." "Tch... that's what happens when they stir the hornet's nest?"
Iko's reaction was far different than Isaac's, from the very start. Raising his stained arms from the back of the Horn Striker, the armored wolf looked on as the dragon made its appearance. An impressive sight, to be sure - but where they and the rest were standing, it was far easier for the Shaininmon to calmly assess it. They could simply bolt in the opposite direction - once they were past the D-Reaper, the dragon would likely have no interest in them.
Before Iko could even articulate that to Isaac, though, the MetalGreymon was already off. "Freaking hell!" Against his own survival instinct, Iko bolted after the 'dumb kid', knowing just how bad an idea this was. A metallic dinosaur and an unstable spirit, both infected with the D-Reaper themselves, had just attempted to plead with a god of the Digital World. And this 'god'? Perhaps from Isaac's perspective, he did have direct eye contact, but the dragon's wide field of vision pierced through the landscape, towards the dry wilds and the sands below. Once more, he could see it: the grip of that red lichen, those devilish agents marching over in his direction, the floating eyes of the world's crimson end attempting to pierce through his code. The very desert that he had purified, that he had been tasked with looking over an age ago, was once more scarred.
It was unclear if the bearded dragon could even hear Isaac's words - or if it did, if it even cared for the thoughts of a mortal. The chains around its body began to pulse a bright white, the clouds above responding by pulsing a radiant blue. And from the dragon's aural form, an impressive 'crack' was heard, streams of lightning torn out in what seemed to be every direction: below, Demon's claws pulsed a fierce crimson, his own electricity clashing with a mere fragment of the blast - but even that wasn't enough to mitigate the blast entirely. Angel and Dagger would find their own 'bolt' raining down from overhead - and even at a far distance?
Perhaps it was chance, or perhaps it was that he was infected with the Reaper. But in either case, a powerful bolt of lightning was aimed, to strike dead-center with his chest -
"GRAUGH!"
- And... would fall just short of hitting him. Before he even know what he did himself, Iko, armor singed black and smoke rising from his frame, fell and simply crumpled against the cracked sand below. Aboard the Blimpmon, as Dr. Cross let out her scream, perhaps she'd hear the voice of the ship itself calling to her:
"Fret not! Our cloaking has still managed to hold... ascending at maximum speed." Indeed - they would be slowly pulled up and away from the dragon's furious visage, just as both the weather above worsened, and the storm of lightning streaked below - several agents of the D-Reaper struck, half-culled through one mere 'flex' of this god's lightning.
"Maintain for now. They will need your help..."

"NO!" Cas screamed out her fist colliding with the window even as pain wracked through her body as the D-reaper screamed in the back of her mind. Writhing like a tortured animal inside her head as the Doctor fought to stay on her feet. "We have to go back! They need our help now! They need our help!" Cassandra raged her cheeks wet with tears, but as she lifted a hand to her face it came away bloody. The world tilting sideways as she froze at the familiar sight. Distantly she realized she was having a panic attack as her eyes sought out the little dots on the ground that where her Digimon. Only suddenly they weren't so distant. "Stupid idiotic~" The Dark Knightmon swore his eyes tracing Isaac's flying figure as he prepared to move. Dropping the General sadly none to gently as the Digimon's body tensed ready to spring, but he was too slow. Instead Iko was suddenly there the other Digimon falling in a flash of light as his armor cracked. And then he wasn't. Iko would land softly in the sand beside the General. The Looming figure of the Dark Knightmon suddenly gone as Cloak's black figure instead plummeted through the air. A split second replacement. Isaac's much begged for second chance. A last act as the ex-Dark General sought out his Tamer's distant gaze and mourned the fact he never learned to fly as his body was wreathed in blinding light. Meanwhile Dagger ran flashing to Angels side as the pair launched themselves forward across the sands in desperation. Lightning wreathing the area like rain as bolt after bolt struck at them. Dagger knew he had nothing, that could truly stop the strike of a god. Nothing, but himself and as destruction rained he lunged form glowing golden as he threw himself in front of the Renamon. A life for a life.
In that moment as Cassandra's fists cracked against the glass a helpless sob ripping it's way from her throat as the Tamer watched her partners throw themselves towards death and prayed. Prayed to anything that was listening because it was clear the god before her was deaf to any mercy. Face wet with blood and no one to see her break the Doctor fell to her knees. "Please not them." She begged and for once the gods listened as the Tamers digivice screen cracked with the light that exploded from it.
"DARK KNIGHTMON MATRIX DIGIVOLVE TO~" "DURAMON MATRIX DIGIVOLVE TO~" A massive pale armored figure crashed to the desert sending the sand spraying in waves as it rose shaking the grains from it's long white mane as it narrowed stark blue eyes at the Dragon above. A second massive figure in gleaming gold surged forward electricity sparking off it's form as it doubled over using it's body as a shield for Angel and Emma as it snarled from behind it's glowing visor.
"GAIAMON" "DEUSMON" The gods had not been deaf to Isaac's plea. He had simply been pleading with the wrong gods. Cloak uses Scapegoat on Iko - Scapegoat: In a blink of an eye Dark Knightmon switches places with any target it has marked via damage within three turns or a willing ally within line of sight leaving them to suffer whatever fate or attack might have befallen the Digimon himself in his place. Cooldown three turns. Cloak Matrix Digivolves to Gaiamon
Dagger throws himself in front of the attack meant for Angel Dagger Digivolves to Deusmon

Kan's ears flicked and swiveled when he heard the renamon harshly address him. Growing a somewhat flat expression he'd turn his head and stare at them giving a small quirk of his brow which was followed by him rubbing his neck a touch awkwardly. To be honest he had taken the chance because there was things he wanted to see but... Kan didn't know what was going on here at all; all these people he didn't know. In fact he barely knew anything about the Sovereign that was flying up on high raining lightning and thunder from up on above. Gritting his teeth the Silvermon didn't waste any time taking cover behind the Devidramon's massive body. In all honesty he should of taken that portal. But there was a small somewhat bearable chance that he would be able to do something in this situation at some point that might help. But the question was when? He was stuck watching people move quicker than he do foolish things. Hell he had even blinked and found another form falling from the sky landing upon the sand. Exasperated the Silvermon cast about and peered out from under the DemiDramon only to see the light of digivolution engulf two individuals that seemed familiar to him but he couldn't honestly put his finger on it. Glancing up at the Devidramon the spirit user clenched his teeth and deigned to speak to them. "Tell me when and I'll throw up a defensive dome; it might not be the strongest but every little bit counts."At least that's what he was hoping Log-Kan prepares to use bastion to help out.
Move: Bastion: This digimon may use it's own voice to envoke a large dome like structure to block incoming damage [30 feet]. This dome may be passed through if not attacked, when attacked the dome hardens considerably and may not be passed through. The Dome itself may withstand two ultimate attacks, Six champion attacks, twelve rookie attacks and is not damaged by anything under rookie. mega's may destroy the barrier without second thought. The cool down of this ability is two posts starting from when it was destroyed. It has a duration of three posts if not attacked and the cool down starts afterwards.

There were two conflicting emotions on Amelie's mind at the moment. Curiosity and self-preservation; she wanted to know what would transpire next, but at the same time, the fact that her life could be at stake in this situation wasn't amiss to her, at least after stopping her awestruck observation of the sovereign.
She had missed a good amount of the dialogue that was going on, but at least could observe that a good deal of humans/slash digimon seemed to be very stubborn on the prospect of getting slaughtered. Why? She had no idea, even though looking at it seemed to be pretty interesting.
However, there was something she had to take into account when observing the struggles of whoever wanted to face the sovereign. Safety first; and that wasn't to say that a Devidramon had gently offered to shield them from the oncoming harm, if any found its way towards this place.
Without much else to say or add, she just got behind the digimon, eager to watch how the situation would unfold.

"So... can you tell me what is currently going on, dear?" The hushed yet confident words of a renowned, female mercenary rang close to Kan's ears. The reason why was because the silver figure of Cion, naturally in her apex form, had positioned herself on his left shoulder. Calmly she sat there, a winning smile directed at her trusted friend and colleague in his hazel colored, fluffy yet powerful state. Admist the chaos of this wasteland in which light clashed with darkness, the restrained Arniomon was glad to see at least a single familiar, friendly face. The tiny fox still felt the strings of the D-Reaper tearing at her mind and core, but for long as she was capable of mustering an ounce of willpower she refused to yield to its vain graspingness. The faint voices, the shift in color of her vision, the slight numbness in her limbs - they were acceptable if she had to assure a happy ending. Considering what was currently happening in these badlands, her interference was probably adequate if not desired. However, that did not mean she did comprehend the circumstances at hand. Hopefully, her treasured companion had concise answers to quench her obfuscation. As uncertainty lingered, Cion merely beheld all the mighty warriors present. Certain that they too craved the end of the crimson parasite, she clicked her fingers. An aura of iridescent data engulfed them for a a short amount of time, either healing them if they were damaged or granting them a strong barrier that protected them from incoming damage and a negative effect on. Vertigo, recovering from the previous, kept to the clouds, serving as a scout that fed her information. Of course he kept his distance from the gargantuan dragon. If Isaac had any hope that Azulongmon heard his plea, it was dispelled in streaks of pure white lightning. MetalGreymon wasn't exactly the speediest form, and as he saw the lightning arc towards him he hunkered down to try and defend himself as best as he possibly could. Soon, he was fairly sure, the darkness of his own squeezed eye would give way to a far more final sort of darkness.
Except . . . it hadn't. In fact, Isaac didn't even feel the impact of the attack. Hesitantly he cracked an eye open, only for his jaw to drop at what he had just witnessed. Iko had taken the brunt of his pain. A god lashed out at him, and rather than flee or chide him for his stupidity Iko just jumped in the way. As Isaac saw his broken body start to tumble down to the sands he let out a pained roar, the world going white around him.
As Isaac turned his head to the sky, onlookers would see a veritable sea of wings fan out from his back. Most were feathery like MetalGreymon's naturally were, but intermingled with them were razor-sharp demonic wings. Rings of data began to form around the tip of his tail as it thrashed furiously, until soon settling into what looked like a globe made entirely out of 0s and 1s. His body seemed to elongate, keeping the prodigious girth of MetalGreymon intact but stretching out to far more humanlike proportions. His silhouette turned jagged at the edges, his shoulders, knees, wrists, and horns all stretching out into long, bladed plates. Even his grief-stricken roar started to change character, MetalGreymon's more monotone, mechanical voice giving way to an organic shriek underlined with a metallic reverbation. There was a malice to it as all of the grief and despair burning into Isaac's chest poured into his voice.
As his body shifted Isaac could feel presences settling into the back of his mind. MetalGreymon, first and foremost, gritting his teeth as he glared down a foe he knew was far beyond his weight class. NeoDevimon, claws flared out as he gibbered in a mixture of fear, disgust, and loathing. Then there were two he had not felt in a while. Yasyamon, his normal relaxed attitude giving way to a protective furor as Iko's fall replayed over and over again. Even Devidramon, making itself known with a hideous roar as bloodlust filled Isaac's head. Between these two the silhouette of Samudramon erupted, the somber glare in its eyes making it clear this was not the first time it needed to rise up and put down an unjust master. Slowly, the five presences started to fade to whiteness, Isaac now envisioning the shape he was starting to shift towards back into the outside world. Whatever it was, he could feel pure power radiating off of it. No, radiating off of himself. He fixated on the silhouette, trying to force his body and mind into sync, as if hoping he could seize this power all for himself.
Unfortunately, it was not to be. As soon as the presences intermingled they separated, launching apart as if their polarities had just been flipped. Just as it happened in Isaac's mindscape, so too did it happen in the real world. The silhouette burned a bright red, then collapsed in on itself like a dying star. Whereas MetalGreymon had previously been on the cusp of a brand new Digivolution, the mere suggestion of the idea had proven enough to snap Isaac all the way back to his Impmon form. He was left hovering in the air, clutching an arm in pain and confusion as the mother of all headaches ripped through him.
As his vision swam, he noticed a SkullKnightmon dropping where Iko was once falling. "Doc?" he murmured, words slurring as he tried to figure out just what had gone on during his little out-of-body experience. Her SkullKnightmon may've been terrifing, but seeing it falling instead of Iko was a huge relief. Even more of a relief, however, was the fact that the knight was clad in an aura of pure white. It reminded him of what he had tried, and failed, to attain mere seconds ago. Had he not been strong enough? Or . . . was his selection of spirits still just barely incomplete?
But there was no time to question strength now. Not when a ripple of pure power coursed through the air. From the matrix of Digivolution, SkullKnightmon had shifted into a brilliant white knight, and Isaac could tell that he was more than capable of standing on his own. Maybe that was why, instead of lingering around, Isaac decided to turn tail and flee. After all, he was in his weakest tier of power, and whatever the doc's guardian planned to do would only be hampered by having a Rookie hanger-on. Fortunately, it was not hard to make out the knight's double. An equally brilliant knight in gold stood in the distance, hunched over as it protectively shielding those behind it. Isaac made a beeline to that knight, even as his path wobbled and shook in midair. Maybe if he was lucky, he would find Cassandra there. And maybe if he was luckier, he'd even find Iko. There was no way that lightning could've obliterated him and left no body.
Right?
Fear and disgust intermingled in his gut, and even as he started to lose his strength and tumble down towards Deusmon's feet he knew he had to say something. Maybe that was why he looked back up at Azulongmon on his hands and knees, blinking back tears all the while. "Is this . . . how you're gonna help . . . when people need you most?" he spat, pure venom in his voice. There was no way a Sovereign would be able to hear the distant Rookie, or even deign to care about what it had to say. Nevertheless, Isaac continued to blaspheme as hard as his lungs would let him. His Impmon voice cracked as he screamed breathlessly to the heavens. "Well . . . then we're gonna save ourselves . . . you hear me? This world . . . us . . . it's all gonna be okay . . . and no thanks to you, you big blue piece of-"
Thud. Isaac must've bit off a bit more than he could chew with that one, his vision escaping him once more as his head dropped to the sand.

The world seemed to slow as Azulongmon's Soukai tore apart the desert with its electric surge, the dragon's roar echoing out as its unrestrained wrath tore through the D-Reaper, with very little heed given to the 'civilians' in the area. Iko's consciousness was, perhaps thankfully, severed after only a few seconds of pain, the pathetic form of the Kinezumon left right at the General's feet.
For Luke? For a moment, the tamer's heart was in the same place as Isaac. He was nowhere near able to keep up with Shaininmon's flying speed, so by the time he had caught up, he was already looking on, aghast as his partner slowly dropped towards the ground. His partner... that, through some means, was somehow replaced with a SkullKnightmon.
Subsequently replaced by a massive armored knight beyond description. "What on earth..." No, Luke couldn't get distracted: one glance at his Digivice confirmed that Iko's data still managed to hold itself together, somehow. With that knowledge in mind, and thankfully spared the blast itself, the tamer quickly set out to work. One beep from his Digivice was all it took for the tamer's vehicle, a hover-bike, to appear just above the sands: hopping right aboard, caring not to worry about the helmet or riding gear at the moment, the tamer would speed right on up, and, passing by, scoop up that fallen Impmon under his right arm.
"Sorry, going to get rough from here..." No kidding: a purple blast of flame would roar from behind, the tamer letting out that first blast of nitro... heading right towards the dragon! Of all our luck...
Initially, as Azulongmon's electric burst threatened to tear apart the ground around them, Angel didn't raise too much of an alarm or panic. Her blade already began to surge with electrical energy, and the Renamon would take a moment to hunker down, planting that sword right into the sand. It might hurt, yes, but perhaps at ultimate and grounded, she might be able to divert some of the current into the sand? However, that isn't what happened.
Dagger took the blast. In midair. Just as the fox's eyes widened. "DAGGER!" Her cry pierced out - the blinding light of the dragon's evolution soon overwhelming her vision. Replacing that knight was now that of a Deusmon... and honestly? Angel didn't know what to think. Instead, the fox stifled her emotions, and tore her way right through the center, to find...
Mercurymon! The spirit wielder's mirror shields were shattered, and she was down for the count, but at least her frame was still in-tact! Hoisting the spirit wielder over her shoulder, the Renamon gave a step back, tapping the back of Deusmon's armor with her right hand, before vanishing on the spot... ... Appearing once more, right next to the general. Even masked, the sigh of relief could be felt on the General's face, as he continued to work away at creating that portal. "How do you not have that up yet?"
"Making an additional portal at the cafe taxed it... but, there we are. Demon!"
"Oh, now you call." The Devidramon's voice was torn and made gravelly, that surge of electricity overwhelming his frame. He did manage to absorb the shock from the rest of the group, but the Xros'd Digimon didn't look like he'd be around for a second blast. At the General's order, in fact, the demon type's frame gave a 'pop', three white cores appearing as if out of thin air, drawn directly into the General's Xros Loader. Right next to the General, the portal would open - both there, and right next to Cassandra on the Dreadnaught. Emma, Denryu (carrying that squirrel), and Angel would slip in right in line... well.
If there wasn't a mad dash for this portal to begin with. But down their cover, Luke himself would pull right on up, behind the group. He, unfortunately, didn't have enough to carry more than one other person, but then again, that wasn't his intent from the start: "Amelie!" All the while, of course, the battlefield did not remain a static presence - not for the D-Reaper, nor the Azulongmon itself. Yes, a good percentage of the D-Reaper that had overtaken this section of the desert had been overwhelmed, but the other portion returned in kind. Bubble Agents abound, and even four remaining Paratice Agents, fired away at the Azulongmon from an extreme range, red bullets burning through that electric cloak in an effort to try and strike the dragon underneath. In fact, the D-Reaper's signal came as a 'call to arms' to the rest of the agents...
... And Cion, herself, would start to feel that impulse, a growing desire building in her increasingly addled data. SLAY THE DRAGON. PURGE THE LIGHTNING. SECURE THE LAND. The thoughts were simple, and the order monotonous, but this wasn't simply the mutterings of a crazed Digimon. No - so deeply embedded into her data, this held the feeling of a strong compulsion, a need that had to be sated, as if it were a starving hunger.
It, of course, did not help that Cion held that color. The lesser attacks from the D-Reaper would wither away at that electric cloak, and the dragon's attention would settle right on that Arniomon: the closest and strongest 'agent', by proximity. That she was surrounded by allies was of little concern to the dragon: he'd simply run through them all. Its beard gave off a powerful electric current, dancing like live-wire, before a blinding electric blast would surge towards the group, intent on striking through all of them with a single crack of lightning!

So much happened at once that it was really hard to keep track of everything. His body behind the mass that was the Devidramon spared him from the effect of that first bolt of lightning; or at least a vast majority of it. He could feel the tingle of electricity sloughing off of them in waves and could feel the fur of his digital body stand up on it's ends. Some of the fur closer to them twisted and curled as though struck directly. He could just feel the powerThe power of something stronger than him beyond belief. But as soon as DeviDramon left he was left to bear with the fact it was just he and cion staring up at this monster. The question that the smaller individual had posed was simply answered by him pointing up at the massive dragon unleashing a a swath of powerful lightning bolts down upon them. "That. That is what is going on."However his answer was met with the same problem as he could suddenly feel the attention from the dragon shift to him or at the very least... near him. He felt his breath escape him and in a moment of panic that went down to his core of self would throw up that shield that the DeviDramon hadn't bothered to tell him to use. "B-Bastion!"It mattered little. That ability was nothing next to the power that the god had; while thankfully he was affected by Kismet's blessing that still didn't stop the huge gap between him and this god. The spirit user himself had a moment to stare this lightning in the face before it struck him, engulfed him and overwhelmed every vestige and fiber of his being. The pain. The pain.It was beyond anything that he had ever suffered before; this was nothing like the fire. Nothing like the pain within that he suffered from. It pushed everything out of the way to strike deep into his heart and when it was done? The smoking husk of silvermon faded... leaving the human standing for all of a moment. As though exasperated in the fact he was still alive the human fell backwards into the ground with a pained gasp, smoke curling and rising from an unmoving but still barely breathing body. He managed to stutter out a simple word with far more emotion in it than most would expect. "R-run..." Log-Kan used bastion to try to help -It didn't. -Kismet blessing is pretty much the only reason he wasn't vaporized on the spot. -He's still alive, barely conscious.

Things weren't getting any better of anybody in here, and even if Amelie wasn't exactly sure on what was happening and why everyone seemed so frantic about the events currently unfolding, one thing was roused deep inside her; the fact that her life was in real danger, and that she wasn't sure why.
Maybe its suddenness had taken the brunette by surprise, or the fact that she didn't have perfect information on the events currently transpiring, but... one thing became as obvious as the blueness of the sky. Watching time was over; after that attack that the Devidramon had withstood, the danger level of this situation kept rising, higher and higher. This time, there wouldn't be somebody defending them from the next discharge, and that was very concerning.
However, things would look up rather soon! Once most things had been said and done, the sound of a hoverbike closer and closer to the brunette could be heard, coincidentally calling her name. Yup, that was the cavalry, arriving right on time. "Luke!"
The teenager wasn't going to lose time on greetings or on asking what was exactly happened; that could happen later. For now, she would board the vehicle as soon as possible; it was her best —and probably only— bet at getting out of this place in relative safely.
However... she could only wonder what would happen next.
