It was heartbreaking to see Bezil feel so guilty for what was an accident. It reminded him of his own past in a way, so he related to him a lot. His sheer desire to make up for it was good to see, however. Either way, he listened closely for whatever might have been approaching.
He was relieved to hear that Shoutmon had woken up, but it was just in time for a bunch of Flybeemon to swoop around them. They seemed very hostile and definitely were against the idea of Rosewood being established, comparing it to the likes of Terminus and Whitewater. He knew there would be those who were so adamantly against this, but the fact they resorted to threats and violence was upsetting.
While the others prepared for battle, Toki took it upon himself to try and diffuse the situation. Whether or not it would work was uncertain, but he took a few steps towards the Digimon before he knelt down, hands on his knees. "I understand your anger and why you're all upset over this, but I promise you there is opportunity here. The forest is not being demolished with reckless abandon. The village is there as a means for young Digimon to have a place to call home in a world that's already so hostile. There is nothing preventing you from becoming a part of this village and still living where you have for so long alongside new potential friends and allies. There's an effort to keep the forest as pristine and wonderful as it always has been. The gardening efforts and flower gardens there are a sight to behold. I helped with some of those gardens myself, I know!"
His heart raced in his chest, but he took a deep breath and sighed before continuing. "Imagine, please...this could be a new beginning for so many. A place of safety, where we can work together to live in harmony. The strong to protect the young ones while they grow and mature. And as they mature, they bring their own talents and skills to better Rosewood and the forest as a whole. No longer will they, or any reborn Digimon, have to fear the world outside the Village of Beginnings. There is a home for them. There is a home for you too..." he said. He had hoped this would at least get some of them thinking. Still, even though he was sitting down, he was more than ready to fight back should a battle begin. He kept a peaceful, tranquil expression.
Hyokomon drew his sword, looking at Bezil "I can fight too...! We don't have to just stay back here, do we? How will I ever prove myself if I just let someone else defend me...?!" he said. Armadillomon shook his head at Hyokomon "C-come on, they're Champion levels...w-we'd just get hurt right now! A-and that human...Digimon, is trying to be nice! They're doing this so we stay safe...we got to respect their work."

Bezil was most relieved of all when Shoutmon woke up. Maybe Owen's healing had worked after all? It just took longer to activate? Anyway, the confrontation with the FlyBeemon began. Adrian and Rebecca promptly brought their partners to the Champion level. That combined with Owen and Toki made the trio of bug digimon back off a little. Five against three... those were not good odds. However, the FlyBeemon did have the advantage of flight, while none of their opponents had the same. So they didn't retreat just yet.
Owen was prepared for the worst to happen, but then Toki stepped forward to speak to the insectoid digimon. At the very least, they listened to his words. However, what seemed to be the ringleader of the trio gave an indignant glare in return.
"This 'Rosewood' is nothing but a haven for the weak that will only draw in the softest, most pathetic digimon in the world and be nothing but a feast for the strong!" he snapped, angrily. "This is how humans are meant to live, not digimon! You fools simply trying to copy the humans will bring nothing but sorrow and despair!"
While his words were harsh, Owen noted that he seemed hesitant to attack. Was this an attempt at debate perhaps? Well, as long as no attacks flew, Owen would not strike either.
"Flybeemon, you were babies once too, right?" he asked. "Wouldn't you have wanted a haven to grow up in safety once you reached Rookie?"
"Yes, damn you!" the Flybeemon spat with surprising ferocity. "I would have loved that! But that wasn't the way of the world. There were a dozen of us, myself, and eleven insect digimon kin. We thought if we all left the village of beginnings in numbers we'd be safe, but we weren't! Us three are all that's left. We survived because we became strong! This forest tempered us into strong digimon! We fought, we defended ourselves, we loaded those that attacked us and we defeated! Your Rosewood is a false hope! So leave! Go to Terminus or Whitewater! Mark my words, one day it will fall to the forest like every other weak thing here!"
Bezil's eyes widened at this talk. He honestly didn't know what to say. Owen meanwhile sighed and shook his head. Man these guys had issues. But... they were simply wrong in his view. While initially his eyes flashed at the mention of loading data, well, as long as it was a case of self-defense, he would not object. But if they had hunted down young innocent digimon before and loaded them, well, that would change things. But he had not heard evidence of that yet, so he remained peaceful.
"I'm sorry that happened to you" he said. "The ways of the wild... I understand that it was difficult. But, does that give you the right to deny others a chance at a good life?"
The FlyBeemon glared at him, looking like he dearly wanted to attack, but, with five against three, he hesitated. But, surprisingly, the second FlyBeemon spoke up.
"Prove it" she said. "Prove that you're strong enough to defend Rosewood. Here and now! Three on three! We challenge you!"
These words seemed to resonate with the other two digimon, and their stances firmed. Owen was surprised. Rather than an all-out assault, they seemed to be challenging them to a sparring match. Owen glanced around at the others. Should they accept this challenge?
"Yeah! We can take you on!" Bezil cheered. "You show 'em, dad!"
"Well... it would certainly give them the message" Owen reasoned, glancing at Toki, then Adrian and Rebecca. "Although... three on three. Two of us might have to stand back and keep watch". Surely a fair fight would prove not only their own point, but that the defenders of Rosewood would survive this forest?

The pure number of champions against the Flybeemon at least caused them to back up a little bit, however they still remained, seemingly ready to fight. And a full-on brawl would have happened, if Toki had not attempted to take the civil route like he did.
It didn't help TOO much, however. The Flybeemon were still unhappy about the Rosewood village - as well as every other city and town in the Digital World. And now they officially challenged the group to a three-on-three battle!
Owen had concerns about the sheer amount of numbers that their side had, but White Wolf made those concerns go away. "We'll stand down. Our main mission is to protect Hyokomon and Armadillomon, and get them to Rosewood."
"Awww, but I wanted to incinerate them," GeoGreymon complained.
"It's only fair, brother," KendoGarurumon said to his twin before the three of them stood back, now protecting the three Rookies from other random harm.
"Alright... a three on three battle. I can dig this," SuperShoutmon quipped, getting into a battle stance. "Ready when you are, buggies."

Toki clenched his fists at some of their words. Some of their logic was twisted by fear and a lifetime...maybe several lifetimes, of hardship and pain. He could understand their worries. If they live peacefully, will they have the strength to protect themselves? All they had to do was think about Whitewater and Terminus. "Have Whitewater or Terminus been completely overwhelmed and destroyed? Even if they have at one point, they're still standing today thanks to the cooperation and camaraderie they have for one another."
He stood up and stretched his long limbs "Very well. We'll show you we have the strength to not only protect, but inspire others to greatness as well. A peaceful life does not lead to weakness. We work together and grow along side one another." Toki and his spirit both felt strongly about this and wanted others to see the value these homes could offer. He reflected back to when he trained day in and day out despite never having to. There will always be those who want to have the skills to fight and protect even in times of peace and comfort. He knew there were Digimon out there who felt the same.
The reason for this fight had changed from pure animosity to a test of skill, a test that Toki was more than willing to take. A hint of anger flared up at the idea of loading Digimon data, but...it was in self defense, so he could not judge them too harshly for it. In fact, he smiled slightly before the combat began "Things may have been difficult and brutal for you before...but that doesn't mean it always has to be that way. I promise you that I and many others will do our utmost to prove that." After he said this, Toki bowed respectfully assumed a fighting stance, ready for what was to come "Now then...let's begin."
Hyokomon thought about Toki's words for a moment. He actually found himself agreeing with the human, oddly enough. There were always strong, friendly digimon, with or without humans, that visited the Village to tell stories to inspire and even give advice. "...Huh." he muttered a bit as he took this into consideration.

Immediately the FlyBeemon were startled that the others agreed to such a challenge. Indeed, they had thought that they would immediately use their advantage in numbers to overwhelm and destroy them, as had been done to them in this forest before the existence of Rosewood. While the head Flybeemon chose to discard this, the other two noted that their "enemy" acted honorably.
Then they turned to Toki, who told them the philosophies of Terminus and Whitewater. "That may be true for them, but it isn't true for the forest" the lead FlyBeemon argued back. "It's one thing to fill a city with lights to make the day last all night, but in the night of the forest, that is not true. Rosewood may pretend to be a clone of those light cities, but, its lights can only go so far. One night, any night, the evil digimon of the forest can be poised to attack, then eliminate it all. And you think you can stop that?!"
By now the lead FlyBeemon had noticed that his comrades seemed to hold hope that these defenders could hold up to them. He glared. Simple fools. He knew the truth. Show weakness, and then you'd be truly dead.
And so they faced down their opponents. One was a human wielding a spirit, the second was a digimon that obtained strength from his 'tamer', a word that offended these insect digimon. And the third was... just a digimon like them, with no human partner, who still chose to fight for Rosewood.
"Promise them we'll fight fair, aniki" the third FlyBeemon hissed at the leader. The head digimon hesitated, but in the end, relented.
"Fine. You there, female human, as long as you, your partners, and the Rookies stay out of this, no harm will come to you".
Even though the trio had had very terrible lives growing up, they couldn't bring themselves to actually harm those weaker than themselves. After all, in every one of those horrible battles, they had only loaded the data of those that had attacked them. They voluntarily stood down, so even though they hated the existence of Rosewood, they would not become the monsters that they had almost lost to in this forest.
"Alright, your challenge has been accepted!" the lead FlyBeemon continued, and his wings sparked with electricity. As did the wings of the others. Then, with a cry of "Fly Spark!" the trio sent a thunderbolt directly at their opponents. Owen gasped, then found there was no choice in this but to immediately counter-attack.
"Mighty Surge!" he cried, crossing his arms momentarily, then shot a bolt of lightning directly at the one approaching him. To his surprise, the attacks clashed and cancelled each other out. Yet still, he thought that was not a good winning move. To overcome this challenge, they would have to win. Not only to prove themselves to these Flybeemon, but to prove that Rosewood itself was sustainable.
Flybeemon A uses Fly Spark on Toki. Flybeemon B uses Fly Spark on Owen Flybeemon C uses Fly Spark on SuperShoutmon.
Fly Spark - Briefly beats wings to charge electricity, then launches a thunderbolt of energy directly at a target.
Owen counters with Mighty Surge, blocking incoming damage from Flybeemon B.
Mighty Surge: Owen crosses his arms in front of his face as he charges up energy in his vambraces, then casts out a golden lightning bolt of energy to strike a target. Strikes instantly and difficult to avoid. [Cooldown: 1 turn].

The Flybeemon began to make some good points. There were a lot of dangerous Digimon in the forest, and Rosewood was just a tiny little village at the moment. However, that didn't mean that it was going to go down as easily as they were saying it would.
"As a matter of fact, yes," SuperShoutmon responded to the Flybeemon. "I believe we CAN stop it!"
For some reason, Flybeemon had to remind White Wolf of the deal again, even though she had already claimed that she and her Digimon would stay out of it. "Yes, yes, I know the deal. We won't intervene at all."
With that now out of the way, the three Flybeemon initiated a simultaneous attack, firing bolts of lighting at Owen, Toki and SuperShoutmon. Owen managed to counter-attack his, although SuperShoutmon had another plan in mind,
"Cloak and Dagger!" SuperShoutmon yells right before he vanishes, meaning the lightning bolt hit practically nothing. The champion level would then appear right behind Flybeemon C and give it a good kick in the side! SuperShoutmon uses "Cloak and Dagger on Flybeemon C.

"Not on my own...it's going to take everyone's effort. Bring in more Digimon, live alongside them, and work together to protect what they love." Toki said in response to the Flybeemon leader. In a way he was glad the leader decided to go toe to toe with him. Once the battle had officially begun, Toki rushed forward, taking the hit from Fly Spark with a slight wince in hopes to catch them off guard "Mochi Mallets!" he shouted as his large hands morphed into massive hammers. He swung one upwards, hoping to catch the Flybeemon in an uppercut before bringing the other hammer crashing down on top of it to drive it back into the ground.
He knew that just tanking these hits would just leave him too hurt in no time. This battle was to prove they had what it takes, and constantly taking risks like that wasn't going to do them any favors. Regardless of the outcome of his attack, he would watch closely, circling the Flybeemon in anticipation for its next move. He now knew one of its attacks and monitored how the others avoided theirs. He wished he had some kind of evasion based move or counter like the others, but we was more of a straightforward fighter. "You're strong. I'm going to feel that hit later...there's much you can do with that strength aside from fending for yourself."
Would this Digimon be reasoned with? Their allies seem to be thinking about what he and the others have said, but this one was stubborn. Still, he had to try. It's clear they've been through so much pain. He wanted to help them.
-----------
Toki pushed through Fly Spark, taking damage in the process while immediately countering with Mochi Mallets to uppercut and slam the Flybeemon into the ground.
Mochi Mallets: His hands transform into large hammers with which he uses to slam into the opponent of choice.

While the second FlyBeemon seemed surprised that the armor digivolved Gaogamon had countered her attack so quickly, she narrowed her eyes with concentration. To her, it seemed that this one was focused on damage reduction and probably didn't want to attack. Well, she would soon change that. "Discordant Resonance!" she cried, buzzing her wings to create a stream of resonating soundwaves, targeted at Owen. The RaiGaogamon growled with pain as the sound reached his ears. The sound was absolute agony. So much that it disrupted his data a little. Owen attempted to counter-attack. He methodically rotated his arms in a circle, drawing in energy, then with a cry of "Spiral Moon!" he launched the energy in a beam of light at the FlyBeemon. It struck true, she was too occupied to dodge, but, the attack didn't seem to be as strong as he intended. So... her attack weakened him. He growled at that realization. Meanwhile, the other hench-FlyBeemon was surprised when SuperShoutmon vanished, then struck him in the back. That was a dirty blow, for which he intended to strike back at once. "Stinger Shower!" he snapped, flying back to open a distance between them, then sprayed a shower of poisonous darts down on him. Then the lead FlyBeemon engaged the human spirit wielder. His eyes were narrowed with hatred as he approached. A noble digimon spirit... forced to be used by a human like this, it disgusted him. Then he was caught by surprise when the Antylamon's hands changed into hammers and whacked him down to the ground. He glared up at Toki as he said these words. Yes... he spoke true. Digimon this strong defending Rosewood... maybe it had a chance after all? Flybeemon wanted to believe it so, but so many times in his past he had wanted to believe in something, only for it to turn to ash. So he would have to truly believe in this before he accepted it. "Agony Lance!" he snarled in response, then aimed his talon directly at Toki. If it struck, it would make him know pain as the venom injected. Flybeemon B uses Discordant Resonance on Owen.Flybeemon C uses Stinger Shower on SuperShoutmon.Flybeemon A uses Agony Lance on Toki.Discordant Resonance - Flybeemon buzzes their wings at a wavelength known to cause the most disruption. Affects the data of the target so that their attack power is reduced by 50% for 2 turns. [Cooldown: 2 turns].Stinger Shower - Flies back, then sprays a shower of poisonous needles on a target and any others standing within 10 meters. If struck, the target is poisoned, and takes minor damage for 2 turns afterward. [Cooldown: 2 turns].Agony Lance - FlyBeemon launches their talon to stab an opponent, injecting them with venom. Not only do they take minor damage for 2 turns afterward, all attacks they use in those 2 turns afterward gain a cooldown of 1 additional turn. [Cooldown: 3 turns]
Owen uses Spiral Moon on Flybeemon B
Spiral Moon: Owen gently but methodically turns his arms in a circle, his golden vambraces glowing with yellow light as he gathers energy. He then focuses, then launches the energy directly at an opponent in a beam of energy, aiming to cause potent Holy damage. [Cooldown: 1 turn].

Alright, the Cloak and Dagger move worked out great for SuperShoutmon! He managed to get the first strike on his FlyBeemon opponent, giving SuperShoutmon a slight sense of accomplishment. That feeling did not last long as Flybeemon began his counter-attack.
Before SuperShoutmon knew it, a swarm of poison darts began to fly right at him! He managed to dodge them, but only barely. One of them scraped right by his leg, causing him to wince a bit from the pain.
"You wanna start throwing stuff at each other, huh?" SuperShoutmon asked with a smirk on his face. His right claw then began to heat up, fire forming near the tips of the claws. Extending that arm out to Flybeemon, he yelled: "Enhanced Fastball!"
Just then, a giant fireball shot out of SuperShoutmon's right claw and was now hurtling towards the Flybeemon at high speed! SuperShoutmon uses "Enhanced Fastball" on Flybeemon C.
Enhanced Fastball: A much powerful version of Fiery Fastball, which creates a fireball and throws at the target.

Toki's ears twitched at the horrible noise directed at Owen, but thankfully he was far away from the direct force of it to not suffer from it. Still, Owen was fighting the best he could and he had to do the same. Adrian fought well too, barely dodging the attacks sent his way and immediately counter-attacking, though he hoped the forest wouldn't catch fire through his abilities. These Flybeemon were honoring the agreement not to attack the rookies. Good.
Once the leader Flybeemon thrust its stinger towards him, Toki circle-stepped to the side and attempted to hook his left arm around Flybeemon's tail to trap it. From there he said two words as he brought his right fist back "Mantra Chant..." and his fist shimmered in the light as if covered in Chrome Digizoid. In an instant, he brought his fist crashing down towards the Flybeemon to drive it into the ground with the strike.
Afterwards, no matter what happened, he took a quick hop backwards "A good attack...however I feel it can be improved upon. That kind of ability is more suited for completely catching an enemy off guard. Try whipping the stinger from an unexpected angle, possibly? Your tail is long enough."
Despite the situation, Toki did not hold back in his strikes. He had something to prove. Everyone here had something to prove and he respected that. He wanted the Flybeemon to see that kindness is not weakness. A community does not weaken those within it. Fear is powerful...but it can be overcome. But sometimes it cannot be done by oneself. A friend, a group, a family. Those who can be there to support you through dark times. To live in fear and violence would only perpetuate it.
Hyokomon grumbled "Is he trying to get beaten up? Why is he giving advice to the enemy?"
Armadillomon shook his head "I don't think they're as bad as we think, Hyokomon..."
"Then why are they attacking us..?"
"I-I think they just need help...I hope we can do something for them..."
"But...why talk to them? It would be easier just focus on fighting them. It's their fault they don't wanna come to Rosewood."
Armadillomon thwacked Hyokomon with his tail "T-that kind of thinking is why this is happening, Hyokomon! Please, stop talking like that!"
Hyokomon grumbled and held his head where he was hit.

The Flybeemon's eyes widened as the SuperShoutmon flung a heavy fire attack at him. Fire was bad, it burned the forest, it stung for ages, it was pure danger. So in his pure panic, he executed nothing but an evasive technique. His wings seemed to burst into overdrive, and as they did so, just as Shoutmon threw his attack, he immediately dodged to the side. The Enhanced Fastball flew onward behind him, then exploded into a bush behind him. A fire then started as the leaves caught fire. If this continued, this could cause a whole forest fire. Bezil gasped. "Guys... we have to put that fire out!" he said to Hyokomon and Armadillomon. Meanwhile, the lead FlyBeemon was caught off guard by Toki's counter-attack. Not only did his stinging attempt fail, but Toki made him crash into the ground in a humiliating heap. "You sneaky bastard!" the Flybeemon snarled, his wings beating hard as he took to the air once again. "Fine. Try and dodge this! Sting Shower!"He repeated the attack of his brethren, launching a burst of poisonous stings down at the Antylamon, hoping at least one of them hit. Meanwhile, Owen faced down the remaining FlyBeemon, their eyes locked. "Why do you hate us so much?" Owen found himself asking, more out of the heat of the moment than coherent thought. "Why?!" the Flybeemon spat. "I'll tell you why! All of us suffered hardships beyond your soft understanding in this forest! We became strong because of it! And now you want to end that all by making your village for the weak!""Well, I won't deny we want to make a sanctuary" Owen replied. "But... you can't deny, if we defenders of Rosewood can hold off you so-called strong digimon so easily, your theory kind of evaporates doesn't it?"
"...to HELL with YOU!!" the Flybeemon snarled, stinger sparking with electricity once more. But Owen was prepared. As she launched her Fly Stinger, Owen lunged at her, the stinger striking his outstretched fist, which was also sparking with electricity in his Thunderbolt Slash attack. Owen drove his punch into her abdomen. Both of them flinched from the damage they inflicted to each other, but, were not knocked out yet. Bezil then turned to see Hyokomon and Armadimon fighting. "Stop that! We're on the same side here! Please!" he asked of them. The fire ignited by SuperShoutmon's attack was a big concern to him at the moment. He then turned to Rebecca, Agumon and Gabumon. "Do you know how we can put out that fire?" he asked them, hoping they had an answer.
Flybeemon C uses Vespid Manoeuvre to dodge SuperShoutmon's Enhanced Fastball. Flybeemon A uses Stinger Shower on Toki. Flybeemon B uses Fly Spark on Owen.
As Flybeemon C dodged Enhanced Fireball, it exploded in the forest undergrowth, causing a currently small fire.
Vespid Manoeuvre: If targeted by a projectile attack, the Flybeemon can dodge by instantly flying out of the way. Doing so will render them unable to fly for the next turn. [Cooldown: 2 turns].
Flybeemon A was dealt damage by Toki's attack.
Stinger Shower - Flies back, then sprays a shower of poisonous needles on a target and any others standing within 10 meters. If struck, the target is poisoned, and takes minor damage for 2 turns afterward. [Cooldown: 2 turns].
Flybeemon B exchanged mutual damage with Owen.
Fly Spark - Briefly beats wings to charge electricity, then launches a thunderbolt of energy directly at a target.
Owen uses Thunderbolt Slash on Flybeemon B, but the damage he inflicted was cut in half. Still, he manages to immobilize her.
Thunderbolt Slash: Owen readies his claws, charging them with electric energy, then aims a powerful slash at his opponent. If it hits an enemy that's Champion level or lower, they are immobilized for 1 post from electric shock. [Cooldown: 3 turns]
Bezil asks the other rookie digimon to try and find a way to put out the fire in the forest.

SuperShoutmon sweatdropped as he realized what he did. "Whoops... I did not think that out well at all. Some protector I am..."
White Wolf and the twins noticed the fire as well. Luckily, Gabumon knew how to put it out. He fired a Blue Blaster attack at the fire, an attack of pure ice that was sure to put it out entirely. Meanwhile, White Wolf was trying to help out in breaking up the fight between Armadillomon and Hyokomon.
"Come on, please, there's no reason to fight," White Wolf tried pleading with the rookie Digimon. "Think of it this way: it's a proper challenge. Not a fight to the death. They just need convincing that Rosewood is the best thing for this section of the Digital World. You can't blame them too much, right?"
"SuperShoutmon, next time DON'T use fire attacks," Adrian called out to his partner. "We're not trying to start a forest fire!"
"Right! Sorry about that, Adrian..." SuperShoutmon called back. He turned back to his own Flybeemon opponent. "Alright, new limitation in place... no fire. Uhh... Adrian, a little help here?"
"On it," Adrian nods, taking out a card from his card holder and slashing it with his D-Arc. "Digi-Modify! Electro-Shocker activate!"
"Alright, NOW we're talkin'," SuperShoutmon chuckled as his claws became charged with electricity. At that moment, he used that energy to fire an electrical blast right at his Flybeemon target! Adrian uses Kabuterimon's Electro-Shocker - 6 Card Uses Remaining

Toki winced at the sight of the ensuing fire, his focus divided. He raised his arms in a futile attempt to block the Needle Shower, the horrible stinging sensation only being amplified by the onset of the poison. He could have used one of his abilities to block or counterattack, but there were more pressing concerns right now. The fire. He ached with every movement, but a small stone symbol appeared in his hands before he tossed it to Armadillomon "Sigil of Stone! Armadillomon, that will protect you! You and the others, smother that fire, now!" he said before he looked over at his opponent. Despite his pain, his expression was as focused as ever, his breathing steady despite his trembling body.
Armadillomon watched the stone hover around his body before he gulped "A-Alright, uh...Hyokomon, k-kick up some dirt!" he said.
Hyokomon nodded and pulled out his sword "Cleaving Cut!" he shouted swiping at the dirt near the fire multiple times to create a few piles of loose dirt. "Is that enough?"
"Yeah, I hope this works...! Diamond Shell!" he curled up into a ball and started rolling around the dirt, spreading it towards the fire as Toki's Sigil of Stone protected his body from being burned. With any luck, this should start smothering the fire and put it out before it has a chance to cause any real damage to the forest.
Hyokomon hopped up and down excitedly "I think it's working! Keep it up!" he looked over at Toki and found himself grateful to Toki. He took the time away from his battle to make sure Armadillomon wouldn't get hurt.
Toki continued to stare down his opponent in anticipation for what they were going to do next. No words, no advice this time. Just calm silence as he fought the pain coursing through his body.

The effort of the rookie digimon to put out the forest fire was not unnoticed. Gabumon first fired a blast of ice at it, then Armadimon attempted to smoulder it out too. Their efforts at this early stage were remarkably successful. The burning wood was cooled and then smothered, Armadillomon's efforts smashing the burning wood to embers, which scattered.
But Bezil was there to back everything up. "Frosty Tail!" he cried, swishing his hammer tail, steaming with white mist, sending a wave of ice over the embers, extinguishing the flames. The Gumdramon breathed heavily with relief, glad that his friends had acted so decisively.
"The fire's out, dad!" he called to Owen.
"Great work, everyone!" Owen called back, still focused on the battle at hand. But what had just happened had something of a profound effect on the three FlyBeemon.
In his effort to dodge SuperShoutmon's earlier attack, he was rendered unable to fly temporarily. And in this moment, he was punished for this oversight by being struck full-on with the Electro Shocker from Adrian's card.
Furthermore, the FlyBeemon opposing Owen found her wings completely paralyzed, rendering her unable to move or make the attack she intended to do.
And the leader FlyBeemon that was engaging Toki, he was shocked to see that the Spirit user temporarily ignored his battle with him in order to help the others deal with the fire. That act made the three of them stare with amazement. They... they were prepared to put themselves at a disadvantage in this fight to deal with problems around them.
The reaction to this was divided. The leader FlyBeemon was keen to press forward with the attack, but the other two, one immobilized from Owen's onslaught, the second dazed from SuperShoutmon's attack, they weren't so keen.
"What are you doing?!" the lead Flybeemon snapped at his so-called "comrades". "You're meant to press on with the attack! What are you?! Snivelling cowards?!"
"But... aniki..." the FlyBeemon that had opposed SuperShoutmon countered. "They... they're proving themselves right aren't they? We almost burned the forest down, and... and they stopped it".
"And... they're clearly powerful enough" his sister reasoned. "If we continue to fight them... we'll die... they accepted our battle. Admit it, brother. We can't defeat them".
This made the lead FlyBeemon almost swell with enragement. But, his brethren were set in their decision. This was two against one. And so as the lead FlyBeemon aimed to strike at Toki again, he was halted by his ally.
"Aniki... don't!" he snapped. "Stop this! It's madness!" he turned to the third. "Sister, help!"
The third FlyBeemon eventually recovered from her paralysis, assisting in restraining the FlyBeemon leader. Resigned, he still glared at the group.
"Mark my words, this changes nothing!" he snarled. "Rosewood will fall!"
"Well... not today I guess" Bezil said in a lofty tone. With a final struggle, the FlyBeemon retreated for now, leaving them to savour their victory.
"So... we did it" Owen remarked, in some degree of disbelief at all this. He looked to the others, wondering how they thought of this.

"Oh thank goodness," White Wolf sighed with relief. "You did an amazing job, Bezil. If you weren't here then I don't know if we would've gotten the fire out."
"Or maybe we should've just left Shoutmon behind," Gabumon says, glaring right at the champion level. How could that hotheaded dragon be so careless?! ...he probably answered his own question with that thought.
"Come on, Gabumon, he didn't mean to do it. Plus, don't forget all the good he's done. Like save you guys from mind control, for instance."
"Can we not bring that up ever again please?" Agumon groaned.
Back to the battle, the Flybeemon were not looking so good. Both Adrian and SuperShoutmon were seeing it. Their opponent just got electrocuted, Owen's opponent was paralyzed, and Toki had stopped the fight to go help out with the fire. Two of the Flybeemon were smart and decided to fall back, which was good since SuperShoutmon didn't want to cause them any more harm. However, the leader began berating them and insulting them just because they didn't want to get more hurt than they already were.
"Dude, listen to me," SuperShoutmon tried saying to the leader. "Listen to your friends. We aren't your enemy. My partner and I, we're trying to HELP Digimon! And Rosewood is a good way to give other Digimon a home when they don't have any. And you just want to see it burn? Deny the chance of a home for countless Digimon? Terminus and Whitewater aren't endless; they're going to become full at some point. We never wanted this fight to happen. The only reason I decided to fight was because YOU were antagonizing us, mocking my friend."
"He's right..." Adrian adds. "For once in his life, he's right. This could've ended so much better, but you decided to threaten us. Think before you act... some of us could use that." Adrian said that last part looking at SuperShoutmon.
When the Flybeemon left, SuperShoutmon reverted back to Shoutmon and looked at the group that didn't fight, as well as Toki. "I'm sorry about the whole fire thing. Never used fire attacks in a forest before, at least not in a place with so many trees."
