Guiding the Future [Job A] (Owen, Adrian)

To guide newly digivolved Rookies to Rosewood seemed like the perfect job for Toki. He always had a soft spot for the digimon at the Village of Beginnings. He just wished he had more time to go there and help take care of them. At least this was an opportunity to help bring some of the first Rookie levels from the Village to Rosewood to really get the new city populated with eager new citizens. While it sounded simple on paper, Toki knew that there were those who really didn't like the idea of a new city in the middle of the forest where many had made their home before, so he expected some confrontation.
His spirit felt Toki's worry and addressed it "I'm certain everything will turn out okay. You've grown much stronger than you know. Besides, you're not going to be alone in this endeavor. Other people have taken this job as well, so take a deep breath and accept the help. You don't have to go it alone."
Toki smiled warmly "Yeah, I know. I think I'm past that mindset...kind of. I still want to pull my weight, you know? I can't have everyone carry me through everything."
"I understand. Just realize that everything you do, no matter how small it may seem, is contributing in some way. There are many who have fought longer than you have. Learn from them, and allow them help you if you feel overwhelmed okay?"
"Okay, I understand. It's good to be on speaking terms with you again. I missed these conversations."
Once Toki had reached the designated meeting spot, he looked around and eventually saw two figures in the distance making their way towards the forest. Hyokomon and Armadillomon. Hyokomon proudly marched while Armadillomon nervously shuffled alongside him "I dunno if I'm ready for this. I don't think I have much I can offer a new place like Rosewood." Armadillomon said dejectedly.
Hyokomon chirped with a laugh "You just digivolved! They'll find a place for you! As for me..." he brandished the tiny sword on his back "I'll serve as town guard!" he boasted triumphantly.
Toki crossed his arms and smiled at the two approaching Digimon, figuring the two must be close friends. He knelt down and waved at the two "Hey! Good to see you made it here. Once the others who took up the job arrive we'll be ready to move out."
Hyokomon saluted while Armadillomon nodded shyly. This was going to be quite the adventure.

Of course, the moment Bezil had seen the message on the Rosewood Inn notice board, it was certain what he and his dad would be doing today. Two digimon in the Village of Beginnings had evolved to Rookie recently, and requested an escort for them through the forest to reach the village. So, obviously, the two were delighted to provide that assistance. They thus trekked their way through the forest together. As Bezil was still small and relatively light, Owen was happy to carry him on his shoulders every so often when he was feeling tired. While Owen had the data of a tough and strong soldier, Bezil had yet to grow his, so the Gaomon was fine with this arrangement. "Hmm... so, dad, just wondering, if I evolved in the village and you weren't there, would I have had to go this way too?" Bezil asked out of curiosity. "Well, mate, I can't think of any reason why I wouldn't be there for ya" Owen replied. "But, if all else failed, yep, this is the way"."But... isn't there a Trailmon link between the Village and Rosewood?" Bezil asked further. "Why don't they just take the Trailmon?""Because this is a 'rite of passage' so to say, and can be pretty healthy for most digimon" Owen explained. "Picture this, you just evolved from In-Training to Rookie. You haven't been tested yet in life, yet you're expected to make your way in the world. What better way to do so than to brave the walk through the forest and arrive on your own feet?""Huh... when you put it like that, that makes sense" Bezil remarked. He remained silent for a while, which was fine with Owen. It was nice carrying his son like this. Not only was it good exercise, but it felt like they were rather close - father and son. Of course, Bezil eventually felt like he could walk under his own power again and did so, just as they reached the meeting point. To Owen's surprise, there was already a human there. Not that he minded at all, Owen rather liked humans, and as an extension, Bezil did too. "G'day there!" Owen called, waving. Bezil did the same. They noticed the Armadillomon and Hyokomon a moment later. "Ah, a double trip today, eh? Don't worry, kids, we'll get you to Rosewood safely enough" he assured them. Bezil meanwhile took a long look at the two others. It had only been a couple of weeks since he had departed the Village of Beginnings. Did he know these two? Oh man, it'd be so awesome if he did and they were meeting up like this, yet it'd suck if he didn't remember. Ah, it was so hard, trying to recognize others after they digivolved.
Owen meanwhile paid attention to Toki. "So, you're gonna help in this escort job, right?" he asked. He peered around in confusion. "Uh... you have a partner like most humans do here, right?" he asked. "Unless one of these two are your partners" he glanced at Hyokomon and Armadimon. Owen hadn't yet been formally told of Spirit Evolution yet, so he wasn't quite sure of what was going on here.
Well, not to be impolite, he'd proceed with introductions. "Well, g'day, nice to meet you. I'm Owen, and this is my son Bezil" he introduced themselves, offering his paw to shake.

Adrian and Shoutmon enjoyed helping the Rosewood children out with Owen and Johan so much that they decided to go and help again! This time, it was a leading job, bringing Digimon to the village from the Village of Beginnings. They decided to bring along White Wolf and her twin Digimon, Agumon and Gabumon, along to help out.
Along the way, the group decided to chat a little bit. "So we're bringing Digimon to Rosewood? ...do you think I'll get to burn stuff?"
Agumon's brother Gabumon sweatdropped. "Why do you always wish to burn things?"
"Because burning things is fun!"
"Hell yeah, it is," Shoutmon cheers, agreeing with Agumon. Both Adrian and White Wolf sweatdropped at their conversation.
When they arrived, they noticed both familiar and non-familiar people. For example, Owen and Bezil were there. "Hey Owen," Adrian greeted the Gaomon. "Funny how we keep running into each other like this."
Then he turned around and noticed another familiar face. "Hey... you're Toki, right? From the Great City?"
"Hi there," White Wolf greets Owen and Bezil, kneeling down. "I'm White Wolf. I believe we met at Adrian's birthday party. It's cool to see you."

Toki waited patiently alongside the two young Digimon for the others who accepted the job to arrive. He had sat down next to the Armadillomon to pet its back in an attempt to calm it down for the road ahead. It seemed to work, as it wasn't so shaky for the moment. "You'll be alright. I'll make sure of it okay? I'm sure the others who come along will take care of you too." he said with a warm smile. Armadillomon smiled back and nodded in thanks. Hyokomon still looked rather confident and paced around in a square like it was doing a patrol.
When Owen and Bezil arrived, Toki waved at the two and stood up. "Hello there and a good day to you too!" he said as he kept that warm smile. He watched as Owen also helped reassure the Digimon. Already Toki had a good feeling about the Gaomon and his son. "My name is Toki Akiyama. It's nice to meet you both." he bowed his head politely. "As for...a partner, I don't really have one in what's apparently the traditional sense around here?" he said as he scratched the back of his head.
His spirit faintly made itself manifest in its preferred form, Antylamon. The transparent figure bowed politely, arm crossed over its chest as it did so. "Allow me to say that it is a pleasure to meet you as well. Let me explain. I am no longer a...full Digimon as strange as that might be to say. Toki has been gathering totems of my former essence and harnesses their power to borrow one of my forms for a time. In short, I am mostly here as moral support while he fights as a Digimon himself."
Toki nodded "I probably wouldn't have been able to explain it better myself, thanks." he said. "So that's my situation. I hope that doesn't bother you at all...I'll do everything in our power to make sure these two get to Rosewood safely."
Armadillomon seemed awestruck by Toki being a human who could become a Digimon, but Hyokomon looked a little more wary. As far as Hyokomon was concerned, Toki was a faker. "Well if anyone's going to keep us safe it's going to be me! Got that?" it said with a glare at Toki.
Toki knew not all Digimon would be comfortable with Spirit Users, but it still stung when it happened. He simply smiled and nodded, hoping it would be enough for Hyokomon. Then, his attention went over to Adrian, a familiar face "Oh, Adrian!" he waved them over. "Good to see you. You and Shoutmon are holding up well, I hope?" he asked, concerned. However that situation at the city ended, Toki wasn't looking forward to going back. "Looks like you and Shoutmon made some friends. Nice to meet you all." he said them all. This was quite the entourage.
Toki smiled at Adrian "Well hopefully this will be slightly less stressful, right? I look forward to working with you again!" though they didn't socialize all too much at the Great City, Toki was glad to see that Adrian was doing well. "Alright! Well it seems like we're all here, so whenever you're all ready to head out, we'll take the path to Rosewood."
Armadillomon and Hyokomon both looked at Bezil "You seem kinda familiar. Were you at the village not too long ago? I was an Upamon and he was a Chicchimon." Armadillomon said.

Owen's ears shifted as he heard more voices. And there he saw Adrian, Rebecca and their partners approaching. The Gaomon gave a grin as they greeted them.
"Hiya. Looks like we've got quite the travelling party now, eh?" he said, golden eyes twinkling with amusement.
"Hi there! Well, we're all hanging around Rosewood lately so it makes sense to me" Bezil said.
The human that was already there introduced himself. Bezil blinked in confusion. "Tokiyakiyama?" he repeated, tilting his head.
"I think it's just Toki, Bezil" Owen chuckled, patting his son's head. "Humans have two names, but when talking in normal conversation you normally only have to use the first one".
"Ohh, okay. I think I understand" Bezil nodded, smiling. "Then... Toki, right? Whoa!" the Gumdramon took a step back, startled at seeing the spirit form of Antylamon, but at least their calm voice reassured him. He and Owen listened as Antylamon explained that they were no longer a full digimon, and that Toki technically 'wielded' their power. "Huh... wow, I had no idea humans could do that" Bezil remarked. "Nope! It's fine with me!"
"And me as well" Owen added. He hadn't had any problems with the humans he had met so far. Although he didn't know the difference between that and "biomerging", but that was a question for another day.
Then Hyokomon and Armadillomon approached Bezil. He blinked as they told him that they were Upamon and Chicchimon, then his eyes widened. "Oh my god! I knew it!" he said, excitedly rushing up to them, talking very fast. "It's me! Dorimon! Well, I'm Gumdramon now, or at least that's my species, my dad gave me a name like he does and it's Bezil now, ahh! How have you guys been?!"
Bezil's tail was swishing around with excitement, the hammer at the end being something of a dangerous thing in this moment. "Watch the tail, Bez" Owen reminded him.
"Ah, right!" Bezil said, holding the tail in his paws as he continued. "So you guys are gonna love it in Rosewood! I live there too, we can hang out there sometime!"
Owen was pleased that his son had found some old friends. That'd make the journey pleasant, hopefully. "Well, when you guys are ready we can head back to the village" he said, beginning to walk if everyone else would.

"Yeah, we've been doing good Toki," Adrian tells the Spirit User, "if you count being attacked by numerous knights as doing good. And I'm pretty sure our friend Leith hates us now..."
"We have a strange habit of always nearly getting ourselves killed," Shoutmon says, trying to act natural. However, inside he was really freaking out about this whole thing...
The party size was gigantic. With everyone there at once, they were pretty much a walking mob. After introductions were out of the way, White Wolf was going to ask everyone if they were ready to go. Before she could, however, Bezil's tail wagging both smacked her leg and smacked right into Shoutmon's face.
"AUGH!" White Wolf screamed, falling down and holding her leg. Hopefully it wasn't broken, and it didn't feel like it was, but it still hurt like hell.
Shoutmon, on the other hand... yeah. "Ah we gooin to ToyToon nuu?" he asked before falling right down to the ground, unconscious.
"Way to go, Smacker," Agumon criticized Bezil.
"Agumon, he is only a child," Gabumon criticized him, before apologizing to both Owen and Bezil.

He smiled slightly and laughed at Bezil's slight misunderstanding of human names "Yes, it's just Toki. Saying it all is just a mouthful if you have to say it all the time." he said. Toki looked relieved when Owen and Bezil seemed accepting of the idea of Spirit Users. Part of him still feared he wasn't up to par with an actual Digimon, but he tried his best to suppress those thoughts. His spirit felt those thoughts, but didn't want to distract him with questions or lectures.
Toki looked rather concerned, eyebrows raised at Adrian's story about being attacked by knights and something about someone named Leith. The fact that life-threatening situations seems to be common for them worried him "Hey, hey...is there anything I could do to help..? I mean I'm not sure if it's any of my business, but if you'd like I can come with you to talk to this Leith one of these days about what's going on..." he offered. He just didn't like the idea that someone was going through such difficult times. If there was any way he could help, he'd try.
Armadillomon shuffled back a bit to avoid Bezil's tail "C-careful there!" he warned. Hyokomon simply laughed at the commotion "Imagine if you hit a bad guy with that! I bet it'd knock them out cold!" he said. Armadillomon rolled his eyes "A-anyway, it's so good to see you again Dori-er...Bezil. Hopefully we'll have a lot of chances to hang out at Rosewood when we get there."
Toki frowned a bit "Don't encourage him to be too reckless now." he said, though Hyokomon just huffed and turned away from the human. Toki knelt down to help White Wolf back up "You okay? Can you walk?" he asked, concerned before looking over to Shoutmon. He looked up at Adrian "Think you can carry him? He's down for the count it seems." he said as he stood back up.
Bit of a rocky start, but everyone looked more or less ready. Toki followed closely behind Owen and looked over his shoulder to make sure everyone else came with. Hyokomon and Armadillomon followed closely and stuck close to Bezil to talk with him some more. Toki's spirit lingered close behind before vanishing for the time being.

Bezil felt his tail collide with one, then two things. He turned around immediately and gasped at what he had done. "Oh my god I'm so sorry!" the Gumdramon yelped, horrified that he had hurt others by accident. "I didn't mean that! S-sorry! Uh... dad, what do I do?" he turned to his father for help. "Easy now, son, I'll handle this" Owen replied, then focused inward, reaching for the digimental that his data had melded with. "Gaomon... Armor Digivolve to..." he began to grow and transform, becoming almost as tall as Toki. A breastplate formed on his chest, bracers appeared on his wrists, and a pair of loose black trousers fixed with a red sash appeared around his waist. His bandana changed to a scarf, and there stood a tall, more adult looking canine warrior. "...RaiGaogamon!" he finished as the evolution faded. Bezil stared at his dad, he had never seen this form before. "Whoa! Dad, that's amazing!" he breathed. Owen smiled at him, then turned to Rebecca and Shoutmon. He hoped that Shoutmon wasn't too badly hurt, and he shouldn't be, since Bezil wasn't that strong and wasn't even attacking. But, seeing Rebecca in pain made him compelled to act for her first. After all, she was a human, they weren't as, well, 'immortal' as digimon were. "Sorry about that. I have the ability to heal in this form, so hopefully I can mend this" he said, then held his paws up, making them glow with blue light. "Alleviate Pain!" he spoke, and the light would glow on Rebecca's leg, hopefully removing the pain and healing the damage. Hopefully it would work, if so, Owen would take time to recover for a moment, then do the same for Shoutmon. "Man, dad, I wish I could heal too" Bezil said, somewhat subdued over causing so much damage, holding his tail from fear he'd smack someone else out. Which Hyokomon pointed out. But that he made it sound cool made him feel a little better. "Heh, yeah, I guess it can" he said. Hopefully once Rebecca could walk properly, and if Shoutmon could be moved, they could proceed.

Oh god, White Wolf's leg hurt so badly! How could a cute little guy such as Bezil hurt so much?! However, that didn't mean she immediately hated Bezil now. "No, no, it's okay... you just, y'know, have you be careful with that tail of yours."
"Meaning DON'T HURT OUR TAMER!" Agumon yelled angrily, which in turn caused Gabumon to pull him away.
"Agumon, trust me; you're not helping in the slightest." White Wolf then turns to Owen as he began to heal her leg. "Thank you, Owen. It feels much better now. And yes, I'm okay, Toki."
"There's still the problem of Shoutmon here," Adrian says as he picks up his partner, as Owen's healing did practically nothing to wake him up. Toki then asked if Adrian needed help carrying Shoutmon. Before he could answer though, White Wolf spoke up.
"I think I can arrange that," White Wolf says, taking out her D-3. "Gabumon, digivolve!"
"Gabumon, digivolve to... KendoGarurumon!" Suddenly, Gabumon was replaced by a much taller wolf-like Digimon. "I do not mind giving a couple of rides to Rosewood, at least until Shoutmon wakes up, that is."
"Thanks," Adrian tells the champion level as he places Shoutmon on top of him. "I think we're ready to go!"

Relieved that everything seemed to be resolving itself, especially with Owen's healing capabilities, Toki began to relax a bit. RaiGaogamon...that was a variant he hadn't seen or heard of before. Adrian was rather quiet in regards to his question, but he decided it would be for the best not to pry into something he doesn't want to talk about. He smiled at Owen "Thanks for that...it's always nice to meet someone who can treat injuries like that. None of my forms have anything like that...well, yet, anyway."
He felt bad for Bezil as he clearly looked guilty about what had happened, but it was just an accident after all and Hyokomon's words did actually do something to make him feel at least a little better. That and seeing his father digivolve into something cool might have had something to do with it. Bezil shared Toki's wish to be able to heal others, something he respected in the young digimon.
Once Shoutmon had his transportation in the form of KendoGarurumon carrying him, Toki nodded "Alright, looks like we're all set to go. Come on then everyone!" he said as he and the young Digimon they were escorting continued down the road. Toki looked at the digivolved travel companions and couldn't help but think they were all really cool. He enjoyed seeing new types of Digimon on his adventures. He wondered what his future forms would be like. Knowing the trend he's been going through, probably more rabbit-like ones. No complaints with Toki there.
Armadillomon walked alongside Bezil "You didn't mean it Bezil, and you apologized. I've had my fair share of accidentally hitting people too, so I know how you feel." he said with a nervous little laugh. Hyokomon rubbed the back of his head at the thought "Yeah, I think I still got a bump from when you hit me a few days ago..."

"S-sorry..." Bezil murmured to Rebecca once more. He physically flinched at Agumon's rage at him, thinking he deserved it, but Owen felt that the dinosaur digimon was taking this a little too far.
"Mate, he didn't mean it, he apologized, I can fix this, so, calm down a little, please?" he asked, trying to be polite, but at the same time making it clear that he wouldn't tolerate what he saw as irrational hatred at his son. As RaiGaogamon, he felt a little more assertive as well. While yes he was sympathetic at the shock of seeing one's partner injured, that someone would actively continue to seek grievances over it, that wasn't something he was cool with.
Still though, despite Owen's attempts at healing him, seemed he was still knocked out cold. Bezil felt the worst for this. "Dad... I didn't mean to do this... I'm so sorry..." the Gumdramon seemed close to tears and didn't seem to be handling this well in the slightest.
"Well, mate, not much can be done for now, I guess" Owen sighed, kneeling down and patting his head. "Just keep this as a lesson for down the line, okay?". While Owen was rather curious as to why Shoutmon and Rebecca were standing so close to Bezil in the first place for this to happen, well, it did happen, and it was a mistake, but, hopefully it could be learned from, especially for Bezil. He gave a nod, hoping that his errors could be made well again.
As for Shoutmon, it seemed Gabumon had a means of carrying him along the road, which was great. Owen then smiled at Toki. "Thanks. It's just a bit of something from my older days. Healing's tricky, and boy did it take a while for me to learn it, but, I wouldn't give this up for anything". Indeed, in the old DWR, they had means of educating digimon that didn't ordinarily have skills at healing to be able to do that. And Owen found that the ability to heal damage was far, far more valuable than learning how to cause it.
As they began to walk, Bezil felt happier at Armadillomon and Hyokomon's efforts to cheer him up. "Aw, thanks, guys" he said, smiling at them. With a more positive mindset, he thought of a change of subject. "Oh man, there's a pâtisserie in Rosewood that we should totally visit once we get there!"
While this conversation was going on, Owen remained in his armor level form and walked next to Toki. While initially wondering what to talk about, Owen couldn't help but hear something unusual at the very limit of his hearing.
"Hm. Do you hear that?" he asked, frowning. If he wasn't mistaken, it sounded like... a faint bug buzzing noise. Hopefully it wasn't something that would impede them though.

"Apologies about my brother," KendoGarurumon was telling Owen and Bezil. "He can get far too passionate at times. I know your son did not mean it." In response to this, Agumon crossed his arms and huffed, looking away from everybody else.
Things started to get a little bit worse as Bezil seemed to be close to tears. Feeling upset from the recent passage of events, White Wolf knelt down to Bezil's height and patted his head, giving the Gumdramon a genuine friendly smile. "Hey, Bezil, look at me... it's alright, okay? I'm perfectly fine now. No need to fret about it now."
"Yeah, exactly," Adrian says. "Shoutmon's a tough Digimon; he'll wake up soon, I promise. This isn't the first time he's been knocked out, anyways."
And now it was time to begin the journey to Rosewood, with Bezil mentioning something about a cafe in Rosewood that he insisted they visit. Shoutmon would definitely love a chocolate pastry after this... hell, even Adrian would like to try one!
"Hm?" Adrian turned to Owen as he asked if anyone heard something. Adrian and White Wolf both listened. Adrian couldn't hear anything, but White Wolf noticed it. "It sounds like... wings flapping?"

Everyone learned something today and it seemed they all made amends for the most part. That was good, as Toki worried it would be tense the whole trip. Thankfully that wouldn't be the case. Bezil seemed to make some friends from this whole experience, which was definitely an upside. Now the group was on the road to Rosewood. It had come a long way since he visited last. He deeply hoped this place would last and be a safe haven for Digimon. Terminus was rather far away and overwhelming after all.
Toki nodded at Owen "I wouldn't give it up either. As it stands, my abilities are best suited for hindering enemies and shielding allies. I can heal myself, but I can't direct it towards others." He heard Bezil mention a patisserie and thought about it "Mm, I could go for something sweet after we get there. That sounds delicious." he said happily.
Hyokomon looked positively excited "Seriously?! That sounds amazing, I'm gonna get all I can eat!" he was motivated to march faster, though remained behind those escorting them.
Despite hardships, Adrian seemed like the kind of person who kept pushing forward in the face of it. Same seems to go for Shoutmon if Adiran's words were to be believed. He nodded to himself slightly, thinking the two of them were perfect partners for each other.
His smile faltered slightly when Owen mentioned a faint noise in the distance. Try as he might, Toki couldn't pick it up as well as Owen could. Still, it was troubling, like they were being followed. "I should get ready in case something happens..." he pulled out his Digivice and spirals of data swirled around his hand. He didn't want to be caught off guard in his human form in the case of an ambush. He brought the data to the scanner "Spirit Evolution!" he shouted, his body being reconfigured into his Human Spirit form. He didn't want to exhaust himself in his beast spirit form and would resort to that only if things got too troubling. "Antylamon!" he landed next to Owen once more, slightly taller than him like this. He kept an eye out, using his height to scan the trees and bushes nearby. "I think I can hear something now..." he muttered.
Armadillomon watched, impressed by Toki's digivolution. Hyokomon didn't want to admit it, but Toki definitely looked like the real deal. Question was could he fight like a Digimon? He still remained rather aloof towards the Spirit User.

In Owen's opinion, Bezil was more mature than Agumon by a longshot, but kept that to himself. While the RaiGaogamon was generally easy to get along with, hating on his son was pretty much one of the easiest ways to piss him off. But as long as it didn't escalate, he wouldn't say anything.
"Thank you, KendoGarurumon" Owen simply said, acknowledging that the brother at least was handing this well.
Then, Bezil was surprised when Rebecca suddenly petted his head. He immediately held his tail again to stop it wagging and causing the same problems. He blushed a little and smiled, but his eyes still looked sad. "I know, but, I hurt Shoutmon and dad can't make him better..." he explained. He looked hopeful at Adrian's words. "I hope he does. I'll buy him something from the pâtisserie to make up for it" he promised.
Owen smiled at this, glad that Bezil was trying his best to help others. He then looked at Toki. "Yeah... healing others is a really difficult but important ability I feel" he said, his smile fading somewhat. "As a soldier, I quickly learned how valuable it was, namely in a situation where nobody could do so".
Memories like that tended to wash over him sometimes. By now he could think about them without crying, but, they still hurt. Too many comrades and friends had died in Owen's arms without him able to do anything about it. It was that which had made him want nothing more than to be able to heal with his own paws. And with his evolutions, he was able to do that.
As they continued, it seemed that Owen wasn't wrong about the buzzing noise. It was indeed getting louder. So much so that Toki spirit-evolved before them. Owen and Bezil watched with amazement, this was the first spirit evolution they had ever seen. It was curious, yet impressive, watching a human turn into a digimon. As the evolution finished, Owen and Bezil blinked and took in the digimon's form. He appeared like a digimon, but still, they could smell his human scent, sense the beat of his human heart. Yet, neither of them felt anything wrong from it all. Thus they would trust him as a friend in all this.
Then, the threat reached a crescendo. Owen turned back to Bezil and the digimon. "Stay back, guys" he instructed them. "Bezil, you look after your mates, okay?"
"R-right, dad!" Bezil answered, a look of determination crossing his face. He turned to Hyokomon and Armadillomon. "We should stick back, let them handle things. Our job is to escort you two after all" he said, hoping he'd be able to keep them calm.
Then, before Owen, his eyes narrowed as three digimon appeared. All were the same species - red and black coloring, hovering in midair, insectoid appearances, nasty looking stingers at the end of their abdomens. FlyBeemon.
"G'day there" Owen said, nonchalantly, hoping that this could be ended peacefully. "We're just passing through here. Anything we can help you with?"
"Sure you can, mate" one of the Flybeemon replied, mocking Owen's accent. "Take your dumb babies out of our forest for one, and for two, stay the hell out of this "Rosewood" place you stole from us. That used to be our home in the forest, now it's this awful stinking city like Terminus and Whitewater".
"Mate, it's just a village" Owen said cooly, but recognized that this was likely going to be violent. "But, as to your requests, simply put, no".
It was clear Owen wasn't expecting this to go nicely at all. How would the others respond?

"It is no problem, Owen," KendoGarurumon tells the RaiGaogamon with a nod. "Really, only White Wolf and I can handle my brother's quirks most of the time."
That flapping sound that Owen had spotted earlier was now getting louder and louder. Owen and Toki both took precautions, with the latter actually Spirit-Evolving into an Antylamon! It weirded Adrian out; he had never really seen a Spirit-User before today. The idea of a human becoming a Digimon was pretty cool, and the exact opposite of what he'd been seeing in Shibuya as of late.
Some good news, however! Now was the point when Shoutmon began to groggily open his eyes. KendoGarurumon could feel movement on his back. "Everyone! Shoutmon's awake! Shoutmon, friend, are you okay?"
"Ugh... what happened?"
"We will explain later. Right now, get into position. Something's coming."
Eventually, something did come: three humanoid insect Digimon. According to Adrian's D-Terminal, they were called "Flybeemon." And not only were they bugging the group, they were also huge assholes, mocking Owen's accent and insulting the rookie Digimon. That did not sit well with the others at all.
"We could have done this the civil way..." Adrian says, holding up his D-Arc.
"But now we're going to kick your butts," White Wolf finishes, holding up her own D-3.
"Shoutmon, digivolve!"
"Shoutmon, digivolve to... SuperShoutmon!"
"Agumon, digivolve!"
"Agumon, digivolve to... GeoGreymon!"
Now on the battlefield were five champions compared to the three Flymon's. Hopefully, this will cause them to back off slightly...
