The Crucible: Part 1 [Mission] [Akemi|E&E|Kath|Sasha]

Just like that? In those few seconds? The council had managed to work together to fell a colossal foe. However, they were not quite out of the woods yet. As Anzu was basking in the fact that the Brachimon had been felled, she didn't quite grasp the fact that it was going to explode until it flashed red.
This would be okay. Except...Akemi was still in the arena with them. That idiot. Wasting no time, Anzu flew towards Akemi before the Mephistomon dissipated into a large cloud of mists that seemed to wrap around the teenager just in time to tank most of, if not all of the flames that the Brachimon's death had let loose.
At the end of it all, the mists stopped clinging to Akemi, who had opted to shield herself from the fire with her arms otherwise. "IDIOT." Anzu's voice could be heard barking. "You should've stayed up there with Katherine, give her a smooch for all this trouble! But no, you have to be down here with us and getting hurt. Come on!"
"...In my defense...I didn't realize she had stayed behind until it was too late." ...She was pretty calm about this. Huh. "...We should get going, though." The mists then gathered into a physical form again, this one ready to get carrying Akemi back up from whence the group came.
"Anyone need a lift?" Anzu called out.

The group may have just stroke a deadly blow to this massive dinosaur. However, the perils of this fight were not over. A clear showing of this was Musyamon’s body flying through the airs after being jutted by the wind coming out of Brachimon’s sigils.
“Jazz! Get Mrs. Robinson!” Needless to say, the Hippogriffomon was already at it. Thankfully. Now that the Brachimon’s thrashing had temporarily stopped, Jazz was able to get to Musyamon at the mighty speed that characterized her. Quickly, she managed to open her wings to work as a cushion and stop the swordswoman movement right at the spot, to then grab her by the cape (?) she wore, using her beak.
“I’ve got you.” She declared, her mouth a bit stuffed by holding the body. Even if it was about to, this wasn’t over yet. Jazz felt an intense heat going through her body due to the wave released by the dinosaur explosion. Even if she managed to cover herself and Sasha with her huge wings, it was still a rather painful experience. Luckily, it was as painful as ephemeral, as it only lasted a little more than a second.
The Hippogriffimon flew back into the higher platform, landing around the benches were Duskmon and Evie had held the negotiations, dropping Sasha on the floor. Hopefully, the rest of the team would be overall okay, Jazz only had time to catch Sasha.
Almost immediately, a glowing light engulfed the beast’s body, leaving nothing but a very angry Chohakkaimon, pointing at Duskmon.
“What do you mean we ‘survived’? We completely owned your dinosaur and won that fight. I actually don’t care about you giving us any credit but it wouldn’t hurt after you almost killed us back there!” Jazz was back at the form that had defined her for the last weeks, the pointing and yelling pig-girl in a suit. She was angry right now, so fire was scorching around her body.
Katherine, on her side, dusted herself up while standing up. She had to throw herself onto the ground to protect herself from the flaring explosion. Due to her being up above and at a safe distance, she was mostly fine.
“Jazz, no time to argue, let’s go.” She addressed the pig-girl. They didn’t need any more trouble than the ones they had already dealt with. Her green eyes then shifted back towards the arena.
“Anzu!” She yelled, placing her hands around her mouth to project her voice. “Is Akemi okay?” That was super important.
Five minutes was not a lot of time, they had to get moving. Once Anzu brought everyone back to the platform, the curly-haired human and her partner would get moving.

Another moment would arise that made Evie glad that she was in a safe zone. Luckily, her team had done just fine without her assistance in the pit. But, now they were facing a heat wave! Rather than looking to her sister, to ensure the twin's safety, her eyes immediately shifted to the most vulnerable member in the pit. Fingertips tapped on her leg, briefly debating if digivolving to protect the other girl would cause any crumble in negotiations.
Luckily, she wouldn't have to debate too hard on it, with Anzu keeping her own tamer safe.
Less luckily was that even Elsie's sibling wasn't concerned about her being right next to the flash-fire! With enough notice from the dinosaur's sudden color-changing, the Matadormon raised her arms over her face, to at least protect something. Who would have thought a fight was so painful? Ugh!
At least the burning was gone almost as quickly as it had begun, and Elsie was still alive! Albeit, a bit angry. She was burnt, and there weren't even dinosaur remains to kick! How was that fair? A frustrated sound escaped the Champion-level for a moment, before turning toward Anzu. Raising a hand, data began to disperse around the spirit user, until regular-old-human-Elsie was standing there, D-tector in the lifted hand. "I could use a lift! Still can't fly," she grinned.
Well, now that she was a human again, she definitely couldn't fly. But at least Anzu wouldn't have to worry about any accidental rapier-pokes on the ride up!
But, with people returning to the negotiation point, and a certain ChoHakkaimon getting angry, Evie would only give a small smile and walk closer to her team. "The 'credit' is in winning," she reminded, "so that our negotiations wouldn't be wasted." Not that any detail of the negotiations had been shared! And, there wasn't time for that quite yet, anyway! Surely, the blonde would notify the others once they were in a 'safer' place, without that notable of a time limit! "I'm pretty glad that you won."
Much like everyone else surely would, the twins would begin toward the exit as soon as the remaining participants in the pit had come up. Hopefully, Bella would make it back before the doors closed, too. With the recent fight, did any of the participants even think about how her side-mission was going? It didn't sound like stalling for time would work out particularly well, in the case that Bella wasn't already waiting for them!

Luckily the fairy was not strong, nor durable but she had one thing she can be super proud of and that is her crazy speed. And so even though now she is but a tiny fairy, she can fly through the air as if she was a majestic bird of prey, hurrying to finish its prey. The fairy hurried back to where they began, disappointed that she could not finish what she came here for but also happy that at the very least she did not come back completely empty handed, while she headed there she hoped that she can expect everyone to be doing fine and dandy, and hopefully with better result than her and maybe not gloat about it, cause that would be nice.
Back to Souji the wizardmon was extremely confused that he managed to do something right for once in a long time and he did not even need to rely on someone else to do things for him or tell him how to do it, he did it on his own. The overwhelming sense of pride and joy were sadly cut short as everyone was told to evacuate quickly, he turned to Jazz and the girl seemed to take Sasha and leave without offering to take him as well, but then he remembered that he can fly as he saw his own spirit do it not too long ago, he then ran towards Elsie and yelled “ grab my hand, I will fly us out of here.” After taking a running leap the boy jumped and extended his hand towards elsie should she hold onto it he will jump and take the two of them to surface and head the hell out of there. And after that land the two of them where they can reunite with everyone on top.
“ ok is everyone okay ? we need to hurry up and get the hell out of here ? we need to heal Akemi, if only Isabella was here, she could have taken care of that in an instant, but anyways we need to take her to safety for now till we can meet her.” The boy stopped for a quick half a second and adjusted what he wanted to say as to not blow her cover even though his voice was way too low for that to even be an issue but still gotta be extra careful. “back home, I bet she is waiting for us back in my house. Lets go everyone, by the way should I carry Akemi or is Anzu going to take care of her since she is her partner ?” the boy asked, but regardless of the answer he reverted back to Petermon since it was his fastest form yet and got ready to dash back to the beginning if everyone was ready to, his only concern was leaving them behind due to his insane speed.

Much to Sasha's relief, it would seem her companions were still looking out for her even in the maddening chaos of combat, as Jazz swiftly flew up to her and used her beak to stop her fall. The girl let out a sigh of relief, before giving the large birdlike digimon a thumbs up.
"Thanks, Jazz."
While it was clear Jazz did her best to shield Sasha from the blast, it still wasn't quite enough to fully protect the spirit wielder, and she would too experience the hot, scorching pain that afflicted the entire group. Luckily it wasn't for long at least, as the flash was over almost as soon as it begun, leaving only some minor (though still painful) burns on the ogre like digimon. Though the pain was mostly numbed by the knowledge that they had succeded in their task, somehow.
As the Hippogriffimon landed and placed the girl back down on the platform, a pale light engulfed the Musyamon's frame, leaving only a petite (and rather pissed off) blonde behind. And much like Jazz, she was less than amused by the Duskmon's remark.
"Tch, "survived". What I'd give to ram my sword right up his-"
"Not the best time for this, Sasha." The wary voice of her spirit interjected on her ear, making the Russian hold her tongue on cursing the other digimon any more than necesary, else their efforts went to waste.
That said? She would quickly follow after the group as they left the city, the russian cracking her neck loudly trying to get rid of the mild pain she felt...pretty much all over her. This whole fighting digimon thing was tougher than she thought, even with her new evolution.
Hopefully they would be allowed a small nap time before continuing with their mission, but she wasn't really hopeful that their "boss" would be that merciful.

Given no one screwed up too badly, the group would exit Tayichi'tai's main gates and get into the Blimpmon in the nick of time. Only after everyone was on board, the digimon would take off to the skies again. And, of course, as soon as it did, everyone's D-Terminal would beep once again. Subject: Hey, everyone!
I'll be short about this; I don't know the details about what transpired within the stronghold's walls, but I do know the results of what you did! It's a good thing that the negotiations were successful, and while... Bella's small task ended up in failure, at the very least you all managed to come out alive and mostly unscathed. That much is a relief.
The Blimpmon's already heading to Kara-nam. You should have around two hours to gather your bearings and rest a bit. However, I'd appreciate somebody emailing me the details of what happened there! You can reply to this address.
You'll have further instructions as your destination draws near. Keep on with the good work!
P.S. Oh, right! If you want to ask me any questions, feel free to do so. I'll answer them to the best of my ability.
—Amelie 🖤
It seemed that, for now, the group had earned a well-deserved rest!
We'll have a period of two weeks until you all arrive to Kara-nam.
During it, there will be no posting order; if anyone wants to say something, just say it. I'll write at least one reply after a week, and the other once you arrive in the city. I'll also try to write a quick reply in case anyone wants to ask anything to Amy. And... if it wasn't obvious by now.
The first bonus objective ended in failure.

"Survived an earnest attempt to have us killed." Akemi corrected as Anzu lifted her (and others) up. "Granted, I made an honest mistake in heading down there." She gave a glance towards Souji. Who was making an honestly incorrect assumption. She was hurt, yes. But it was merely a flesh wound. She had only been blown back and gotten the wind out of her, that was something she could heal from swiftly. Besides.
"Anzu needs the healing more, she shielded me from the Brachimon's death rattle." And if it was not obvious enough? She was actually walking perfectly fine. Anzu had immediately degenerated to Tsukaimon after she had finished, and as the two made a swift exit, it was clear that the battle had taken a toll on the little former cult leader. "We won, Akemi's fine, but I'm gonna have to appoint you to keep watch because she really, really, really should have stayed up there." She called out in response to the Spaniard.
"...Fair." The tamer remarked. Everyone had their share of barbs for the Duskmon, so Akemi declined to say anything. Anzu on the other hand... "Good fight, nice puzzle, hope negotiations were fair." This was normal in the Dark Area, probably. Once they had definitely gotten back to the Blimpmon on time, Akemi went to go take a seat while Anzu flopped on her lap. She decided to type up a question to Amelie. What should they expect when they get to Kara-nam?
...It was nice that Amelie had some mercy on them. Huh. Anzu was also making an attempt at waving Sasha over. What was she doing?

As quick as they once entered, the group was out of Tayichi’tai Stronghold. The first place Katherine had visited inside the whole Dark Area had left her... a little scared. But it was another place to add to the books, nonetheless, so she would gladly take it.
Regarding the group's condition, it was a relief to see everyone was okay. Especially Bella. Even if it was a bit disappointing the spy work didn't turn out very good, having the Tinkermon in one piece was good enough for now.
Once she entered the Blimp and while the vehicle set in motion, Katherine took her jacket off and let out a sigh. She was already exhausted and they were, barely, halfway through completing this mission. Jazz, on her end? It was clear she wasn’t alien to the wear and tear everyone had suffered from, but she sure as well did a good job at hiding it. The Chohakkaimon just never ran out of energy and that battle had just fueled her craving for combat.
The Spaniard showed a genuine but small smile to her partner. “That was the first time we actually used Hippogriffomon in a battle.” To Caesar what is Caesar’s, right? She deserved the incoming praising. “You did amazingly. Even helping the rest of the team and everything.” In fact, even if it was too early to celebrate, she considered everyone to have done a great job inside that pit (and even Evie, outside!)
“Well, everyone was doing a great job, so I had to step up my game! Even Anzu was using her goat form and flying and everything!” Jazz turned her gaze at her friend for a second. “Did you see that? I can fly too!” The Chohakkaimon blew a friendly raspberry at the Tsukaimon. It was clear she was a little jealous of her being able to fly and everything before.
And speaking of Anzu, she had just given a responsibility Katherine was very much willing to take. She scooted towards Akemi and the Tsukaimon. “I will.” She nodded, looking at the bean. And she was going to take that responsibility very seriously.
“W-What were you thinking?” Her eyes went to the shorter girl. “You should’ve come back the moment you saw I was staying.” In all honesty? It was mainly guilt what was going through Katherine right now. She should've done more to stop her friend from going down there. She had underestimated the risk of the situation herself, and that felt... horrible.
“I was... very worried.” She finished her very poor attempt of a scolding, lowering her gaze.
Was it normal she felt that worried about Akemi? The sole idea that something could have happened to her was killing her right now. She knew their friendship was special but… what was this feeling?
… huh.

Elsie wasn't going to discriminate on who helped her out of the pit! Taking any assistance that was offered, the blonde smiled and gave a, "thanks," before quickly reuniting with her sister. Now, if only she could get a nap, too!
Then again, maybe she could! Once they boarded the Blimpmon, the red-eyed girl immediately found a place to sit. Flopping down, the teen would stare at the ceiling for a bit, while listening to Katherine talking to Akemi. And, not to break up what would surely be a very lovely moment, but! "You two gonna kiss now?" With such a deadpan voice, it was hard to tell if Elsie was joking or being serious!
"Are you jealous that nobody is upset that you were reckless?" Evie immediately questioned, to try to break any tension that her sibling may have caused. While multitasking, of course! Pulling out the D-Terminal, the green-eyed sibling began to tap away at her keyboard, giving Amy a summary of her negotiations. "We're just lucky that Akemi is safe, and everyone else involved had Digimon-forms to keep them relatively more protected." It would have been awfully embarrassing if someone had died to that dinosaur, after all! Not to mention, devastating.
"I'm not jealous," her sibling huffed, "I'm just sayin', this is like most movies, right before the kissing scene." But wasn't that cliche? There's no way she actually thought that was going to happen between the two girls!
Time for a different topic! "Anyway." There were more important things going on, weren't there? Like missions? "If we've established everyone is alright. Is anyone interested in hearing Tayichi'tai's requirement for their truce?" Anyone? Anyone at all? Evie could only hope she wasn't the only one concerned about meeting the requirement. After all, everyone else had put their life on the line for this! But, there was still a pause, as if remembering that she really should be concerned about her teammates. Especially considering that she hadn't been in any real danger! "Unless someone does need medical attention?" Hopefully not! Evie had a feeling there weren't any nurses on board!

All things considered, everything was more or less going according to the plan. Mostly. From Amelie's end, the small stumble didn't really affect the mission's integrity, even if failing it had been a complete shame. Evie's report came in just in time, and while the brunette perused it, she began to formulate an appropriate response for Akemi's query.
What to expect from the second city?
Subject: Reply.
The report looks in order! Thank you very much for conducting the negotiations, Evie. I'm honestly impressed on that front! Sounds like you all had a bit of a rough time, but ultimately prevailed. That's what matters.
In regards to Kara-nam... judging from my intel, it seems like the settlement is a lot less bellicose than Tayichi'tai, but not less dangerous by a stretch. You can expect everyone you meet in there to be duplicitous in some form, even your assigned ambassador. Don't expect them to stick to their promises unless you have some proof that they will. Chances are that they'll try to double cross you in some way or another. More than a physical affair, the next settlement will test how sharp your minds are.
That doesn't mean that combat is unlikely, though. Just don't expect it in the form of a direct confrontation like what happened moments ago. Overall, I'm not very hopeful on how your trip there will go; all things considered, chances are that you won't accomplish anything despite your best efforts, just by virtue of how the people in there can't really be trusted. So... keep your eyes in open; any information regarding a place that rarely opens its doors will probably be more valuable than the stack of lies you will get by interacting with the digimons in there. And don't forget to be on your guard.
It was a true pity that Amy wasn't there to witness the situation between Akemi and Katherine, but at least she was confident on somebody gossiping down the line!
Right?

"Of course I saw that you can fly! You did a pretty good job at it, too." Anzu? Giving someone a sincere compliment? What sort of apocalyptic event just happened?
While Anzu continued doing whatever in the several layers of hell that existed she was doing, Akemi had to sit by and receive (an attempt at) a scolding. "I-...I know I should have, but at the same time it was too late. Nonetheless, my apologies for making you worr--" She cut herself short at Elsie's comment.
What the hell? "E-Excuse me?" Akemi's face turned about as red as a beet for a few seconds before Evie managed to quite successfully divert the tension away. "Um...Thank you for the c-concern? But I...uh...Why that...?" Oh god, they managed to scramble Akemi's brain.
She did have to read Amy's message, anyways, so she did just that. Meanwhile, Anzu got up and floated over towards the twins. "See, if they were going to kiss, they'd only do it if we weren't here. So clearly, we should totally hide!"
WHAT.

Post by Katherine Jasso on Mar 7, 2019 2:19:21 GMT
The most ‘apocaliptic' part of Anzu actually throwing a compliment at Jazz’s skills was that she was not expecting it at all! She liked it, of course. But at the same time, she was not going for that when she issued the comment that enticed it.
The Chohakkaimon blinked twice, staring at her friend. “I-Its…” She puffed her cheeks, looking elsewhere. “… not fun if you don’t argue about it.”
Katherine, on her side, was going through a much more embarrassing situation. Great. She was now blushing and super flustered. She should have expected from someone like Elsie to say something that made her completely nervous down the line. This was, of course, partly related to what she was wondering before the comment was issued. “W-Wh- Whaaat are you saying!? I mean would --- why we --- why would we do that!?” Hmm, being so nervous that she couldn’t even speak properly was probably a new level of flustered.
“Right! They would never do that! … While we’re watching. So let’s hide.” Even Jazz seemed to be supporting this nonsense. Even if it was true Katherine’s digimon partner was a bit overhyped in this form, it was equally true that she was not the type to say things she didn’t actually think. What could she had seen between Akemi and her? Was it even nonsense, honestly? Oh, god.
Weren’t it for the flustering, Jazz’s hideout would have caused a burst of laughter on the Spaniard. Why? Well, the hog-girl had literally grabbed Anzu and lifted her up, hiding her face behind the Tsukaimon’s body.
The green-eyed tried to focus on the task at hand and off the romantic novel their peers seemed to have created between her and Akemi. She read Amelie’s message carefully, to then lift her gaze towards Evie.
“I would love to hear everything about how those negotiations developed, Evie.” Maybe that would make the topic drift away from all of those embarrassing comments.

Who would have thought that Elsie's question would have warranted such a response? Okay, probably anyone withing earshot would have. "I just said! It's just like in the movies! It's practically like a law now." But! Anzu was right! Maybe if they hid, the kiss scene would happen! Usually, unless at a fancy event or in a big city, the movies always had the kissing scenes with nobody else around the romantic duo!
This was neither a fancy event nor a big city. It was a big blimp. The two needed to be alone!
"I'll buy it," the red-eyed teen shrugged, while standing up. Did she seriously think this hiding thing would work, or was she just humoring Jazz and Anzu at this point? Either way, with Jazz hiding behind Anzu, the only logical place to go was behind Jazz! Two 'people' couldn't hide behind a Tsukaimon, after all! So, she'd peek around the Cho-Hakkaimon's shoulder, in a poor attempt to hide.
At least Evie still wasn't playing into this. She'd press her lips together to suppress a sigh, and maintain as neutral of an expression as possible. And, with Katherine more than willing to try to escape the topic, the blonde would try to move on!
"Well, I'd like to think we'll be successful in the truce, but, it sounds like it won't necessarily be easy." In particular, it looked like a more stressful situation due to Amelie's warning about the trustworthiness of Kara-nam. "Kara-nam has spies in Tayichi'tai's stronghold," she started. For a moment, she had to feel a bit of relief that Bella came back empty-handed, and safe. At least that meant that they wouldn't be accused of spying, in a place that was already upset about such a thing! "We need to convince Kara-nam to pull their spies." Of course, Evie knew that this wouldn't have been a particularly easy task to begin with! But now, she had to wonder if Kara-nam would just lie to them about it! "And, if that fails. We have to go back to Tayichi'tai and remove the spies."
Such a hassle. And she was dragging the whole council into it! Even Elsie would let out a groan from behind Jazz, looking to her sister. "That sounds like a pain."
"It was that, or wipe Kara-nam off the face of the Digital World." Seeing her sibling open her mouth again, with a far more interested expression, she was quick to add, "which, not to insult anyone. But, I suspect that we are not strong enough to eradicate a fortress. Let alone the moral objections involved."
Quickly, Elsie's mouth snapped shut, as if remembering that yes, destroying settlements was actually bad. And she wasn't really strong enough for that anyway. Welp. There went that brief fantasy! At least Evie explained the logic before her twin could get too excited about breaking stuff!

Just like the first time, the Blimpmon would begin to slowly lose speed and altitude. The group was drawing near their destination; hoping that their journey had been relaxing enough and that the group had managed to at least recover from some of the exhaustion that had resulted from their expedition on the first settlement, Amelie prepared to contact them again.
What would the group find within the walls of Kara-nam? Were the brunette's words an exaggeration? Or, would the test ahead of them prove to be too difficult for the group? That was something that'd be found out fairly soon.
Subject: Kara-nam
Well, girls. Here we are. This is Kara-nam. The Fortress' main entrance should be open for you within the next couple of minutes. Like I told you all before, I can't stress this enough. Your most precious weapon in this situation will be your wits and your ability to think rationally in the face of whatever these guys might throw at you.
I'm not sure of it, but you might be able to contact me from your D-Terminals while inside that place. I don't see the same kind of interference that enveloped Tayichi'tai; guessing why isn't hard to do, but... I can't urge you all to be careful in regards to that as well. Knowing the people inside, it wouldn't be surprising if you got messages from 'me'. And with that, I'm referring to somebody pretending to be me to deceive you.
Be careful, and take care.
—Amelie 🖤
Eventually, their transport landed in front of a massive set of double doors, apparently fabricated from some kind of black alloy the gleamed under the dim illumination of the Dark Area. Slowly, the entrance opened, inviting the group inside, yet failing to show anyone to welcome them to the city. At plain sight, it seemed... completely deserted. Would the group enter? It seemed like they didn't have any other choice in the matter.
Maybe it was something they didn't expect, or maybe it was something they were prepared for, but as soon as the humans and digimons crossed the threshold, they would find themselves inside a relatively small room, akin in size to a house's living room. It seemed like they had been transported, somehow?
There wasn't much to say about it. The was as plain as it came; completely black, yet gleaming faintly for some reason. What about its striking features? Nothing to write home about. Despite the utter blackness permeating the room, nobody had any trouble distinguishing anything inside. Besides that, there was an inscription in the ceiling, apparently written in Japanese over the usual, digital alphabet.
Digimons must be accompanied by humans. Humans can't accompany other humans.
The meaning of that could be inferred by gazing at the other five surfaces around them. Each of them had a door —or a trapdoor, in the floor's case—, and each of those had a single symbol engraved on them.
Left: π.
Right: Ψ.
Front: MMXIX.
Back: MCCCXXXVII.
Bottom: F.
Now, it was their turn. What would the group do in regards to this?

At least the chance had been provided for Evie to let everyone know the conditions of their truce, before they could arrive in Kara-nam. But, with spies and trickery, the green eyed girl wouldn't be surprised if the settlement already knew of those conditions, too! She had to wonder if there was a way to confirm that suspicion, but it would require actually meeting someone from Kara-nam first!
And, upon walking through the entrance of the area, it seemed they weren't fated to meet anyone for at least a little while.
Upon the appearance in a completely different area, Elsie would wrap her arms around one of Evie's, possessively, while her sister simply took in the change of scenery. This is weird. I don't like it," the red-eyed twin would state, rapidly. Could anyone really blame her? Even the mass amount of doors were unnerving to her!
Finally looking up, both twins would read the inscription, though Elsie would, again, be the first to comment. "Y'mean we have to do separate things again?"
Evie gave a shrug, stating a calm, "it appears so." Which only caused her sibling to let out an annoyed groan.
"This sucks," she huffed, mulling it over. But, could they loophole it? After glaring at the inscription for another moment, she pulled out her digivice, and immediately dropped in height to an adorable rookie-level form!
"Elsie," her twin started, staring as her sibling had moved to have clawed-paws wrapped around her leg instead, "I don't think this is how things are supposed to work."
Getting a scoff from the Hackmon, the little black Digimon looked at all the doors, completely ignoring the rest of the team while trying to rapidly figure out where they should go, before anyone could stop her. "What do some of these doors say? Why are there M's?"
"I think they're roman numerals. One thousand three hundred and thirty-seven, and two thousand and nineteen?" To help her sibling out, she'd give a small gesture to the door as she read it off. "Then there seems to be Pi and--" No time for talk! Evie let out a small squeak, feeling her legs buckle a little at pressure behind her knees. It didn't take a genius to realize that she was already being shoved in the direction of one of the doors!
"The 'leet' door sounds great! Let's do that one!"
Trying not to fall and crush her sibling proved difficult, as she shuffled along to the Hackmon's shoving. "I feel like we should wait and discuss what we're--"
Nope! Elsie was having none of this! In a surprisingly swift motion, upon reaching the door, Elsie hopped to the handle, yanked it open, and shoved her sister in! Thankfully, it didn't seem that the door had any immediate threats, all things considered! Otherwise, Evie could have been toast! But, instead, by the time that Evie had stumbled through, and turned around, it was clear why multiple people wouldn't be able to go through the same door.
A glint across the doorway gave Elsie an idea that she had made a possible error in her logic. Rather than running straight into it, true Elsie fashion, she instead reached out to test if it would still let her through. And, instead? It hit a wall. Slamming a claw into what could only be considered as a barrier, her arm bounced back. "I think I broke it," she mumbled, sheepishly.
Crossing her arms, the Hackmon let out a huff. "Eves, can you come back out?" To this, her sibling on the other side of the glass-like barrier gave an innocent smile, but didn't budge. "Hey!" In response, she received a gesture of the mild-mannered twin cupping a hand to her ear, still politely smiling.
Evie couldn't hear a thing her sister was saying.
"Oh god, I broke it," Elsie affirmed, flailing her arms in front of the 'glass'. At least her sibling didn't seem to be in any trouble, from what anyone could see! The door opened into a hallway! And, there was nothing that seemed to want to eat the girl inside. Or murder her, for that matter. Letting out another huff, the Hackmon would finally turn to the rest of the group, looking more pouty than she was embarrassed. "So, uh. Might'a gotten carried away there. The door looked cool. Sorry 'bout that."
'Sorry' wasn't going to bring her sister back through the threshold though! But, Evie made sure to let everyone know that she was probably fine! Leaning close to the threshold, she exhaled. And, much like glass, it fogged up! With that sort of convenience, she drew a smiley face into the misty barrier, and waved. There was no point in her throwing a tantrum about it. It wasn't like she could fix it now!
But, she'd still wait around near the entrance of the door for a bit, to see if anyone else took to some of the doors. If anyone else entered another door, she'd turn and begin down the hallway, leaving her sister to pick whatever door was leftover! Otherwise, she'd pause to check if there was any way she could contribute, despite the inability to hear or be heard!
