"Bingo," answered Veemon. At this point he was not mad, or disappointed, just frustrated that this afternoon turned out the way it did--And it's only been thirty minutes since they woke up. However Gumdramon wasn't feeling the same way, as his face had anger written all over him because what Conner had said
"Shut up, moron!," he yelled, flying at Conner's face. "My brother and I are famous throughout our village as The Wild Brothers! We're known for causing trouble back where we came from, so we're a pretty big deal!"
Veemon chucked at what his brother said; not impressed in the slightest. "Your attitude is the only big thing around here."
Gumdramon turned towards Veemon, giving him a death stare, which made Veemon burst into laughter. "Who's side are you on anyways?!," he yelled. He diverted his attention to Conner again. "Anyway, you were the one playing that strange noise with that thing laying over there?"
Connor couldn't help but, let out a chuckle. "The Wild Brothers. What's wild, and the actual big deal is your illusion as to how much the both of you get yourselves into trouble. If anything, you drag your friend in too many situations, I bet."
"Also, the thing is a guitar. I'm assuming that some things don't exist where you come from." He spoke to him.
"So, that's what its called." Upamon thought. "Whatever it is, he's very good at it."
"Anyway, I'm guessing that you have someone with you, other than your buddy back there." He puts his finger on his forehead to push him lightly away from his face. "Or you're too wild to have someone making sure you don't do anything stupid. Pretty sure someone is already doing that job." Referring to the Veemon.
"Wait until I digivolve. You wouldn't have to worry about him." Upamon said to Connor.
Gumdramon scoffed.off the comment. "You're just a human, what would you know anyway?"
Veemon glanced at the thing known as the guitar. He went up to it and took a close examination of it. He didn't want to touch it seeing as it was Connor's and didn't want to be rude. "A guitar huh," he said "He's right, you play this thing pretty good."
Gumdramon didn't like the human pushing him like that on the head. It was one thing that something like that means that this humans wants to fight him, but the fact he only saw him as a kid that needed his parent--or in this case--Justice to "put a leash on him" made him angry.
"I don't need no human to babysit me." He turned to Veemon "And I certainly don't need someone watching out for me 24/7. And you know what..."
In a blind fury, Gumdramon extended his tail when Connor wasn't looking to trip him, shocking Veemon.
"You idiot, what are you doing," he shouted, sprinting a Gumdramon to try and restrain him, only for his little brother to hit him upside the head with his tail. "Stay out of this! I'm gonna teach this human some respect!"
Connor REALLY didn't expect to get tripped over as he fell flat on his face. He lost consciousness when he banged head first into the dirt. A few seconds later as to when the Gumdramon stated that he was going to teach him a lesson, he struggled to get up to then immediately take off his bandanna to breathe easily but, in turn, shows the many scars he has around his mouth. It didn't matter to him if they saw what his mouth looked like. What matters is that he needs to defuse the situation NOW. Connor was still on the dirt floor, breathing heavily, looking at the twins.
However, Upamon had other plans as he went in front of Connor. "STAY AWAY FROM HIM YOU BIG BULLY!!" He shouted at Gumdramon. "I don't care if I'm weak but, I won't let you hurt him!" He exclaimed as the device, that was left at the front porch seemed to give him a weird feeling. He ignored it as he turned his attention to Gumdramon.
Gumdramon smirked at what Upamon said, if his human couldn't even put up a fight, what changes does a Digimon at his level have. He went over to Upamon. He didn't know what he was feeling, He wasn't sure if it was anger, sadness, or any emotion at all; he was just acting how he felt.
"Aww, what's the little baby gonna do, bounce on me," he said, bending over to mock his stature. "Ha! Just try and attack me shrimp."
Veemon struggled to get up. The blow to the head really caught him off guard. At first, he thought that his younger brother was just blowing off some steam, now he's out of control. He struggled to get on his feet, but was only able to get on one knee. He put his hand on the side of his head, which throbbed in pain. He slowly came to Connor's aid, trying to help him up.
"I'm so sorry about this," the blue dragon said."When he gets this angry, there's no telling what he can do. I'm gonna stop this, I promise."
Veemon slowly started to pick up speed and delivered a V-Headbutt to him, making sure he didn't hurt Upamon. The delivery of that attack made his head hurt more, but he didn't let the pain slow him down, as he got on top of his brother in put him in a choke hold.
"Gumdramon, stop this! What would Justice think about this?"
The purple Digimon simply punched him in the face without hesitation, sending him flying down the lawn.
"Screw Specs," he shouted. "You think he has power over me? If he really cared about all this he would be here."
"YOU ARE A BIG BULLY," Upamon shouted at the Gumdramon, hopping to look at Connor
"I won't forget for what you did." Connor thought to himself, referring to the Veemon, as he shook his head and finally got up, looking at the front porch. He seemed to have the same weird feeling Upamon did. He looked at Gumdramon as he started to run towards it, leaving his bandanna behind. He almost tripped on the stairs as he made it to the front.
He quickly grabbed the device, now emitting a white light from before. Connor didn't know what do but, to look at Upamon. "I don't know what I'm doing but whatever it's telling me, this better work!" as he decided to hold it up to then have Upamon stood still.
He then now emitted a bright light, blinding them for a few seconds. "UPAMON DIGIVOLVE TO..!"
The few seconds of flashing light stopped as Upamon, in Connor's perspective, seemed to be replaced by a Digimon that seem to look like an armadillo by his looks.
"ARMIDILLOMON!" He shouted, feeling an urge to strike.
Gumdramon became surprised that Upamon digivolved into Armidillomon, despite only just meeting him a couple of minutes ago. The surprise quickly turned into excitement, as his tail hit the ground a few times, trying to contain it from getting the best of him. He saw Armidillomon as a tough opponent to blow some steam off. It didn't matter how, he was going to win. Nuff said.
"Bring it on you overgrown shell head! You're gonna regret ever challenging me!"
Gumdramon flew head speed at Armidillomon, preparing to win at all cost.
"HEY," a familiar voice shouted.
Gumdramon stopped in his tracks and slowly turns around. He recognized that voice from anywhere. Veemon, who was face first in the dirt lifted his head, surprised at who he saw. "Heh, took you long enough..."
Connor quickly took a look at the person who called out to them. From the looks of it, he's probably not happy. Wouldn't be surprised, considering what was going on. However, he was surprised as to how a small blob of sorts could just change into someone more powerful
Armidillomon WANTED to attack Gumdramon while he was probably off-guard but, instead he picked up Connor's bandanna, with his mouth and scampered over to Connor as he dropped it. "Are you okay?" He asked him.
Connor nodded, keeping his composure from not falling over from the concussion he has. He picked up his bandanna, a bit dirty, quickly patting it down before tying it around the outside of his mouth. He kneeled down to pat him on the head. "I'm fine. But, stay close to me." He said to him before getting up and walking down the stairs with Armidillomon jumping down to the end of said stairs.
"So, you're Justice, right?" He called out to him since he was at a reasonable distance to raise his voice.
Justice gave a distrusting look to the dude he saw, the attire that he was wearing, noticeably the bandana across his face, gave the distinction that he was someone to keep an eye on. "Yeah," he simply said. He noticed the Digimon that was next to him, that had the appearance of an armadillo. He became a bit surprised. The only person he has met that also had a Digimon was Chiaki, so this meant that he was like him as well.
He turned his attention to Veemon and lifted him on his feet. "You ok?" Veemon, who's head was still ringing a bit, gave a thumbs up. "Don't worry, it would take a lot more than a few beatings to put me down. How did you find us?"
"Bright light;clear as day. Followed it here. I don't think anyone could become omission to something that refulgent."
"Use English, man. Me no get big words." Justice simply patted his head in response, smiling.
The smile quickly vanished as he turned his attention to Gumdramon and the stranger. "Can someone explain to me as to what in the affirmative action is going on here?"
Gumdramon then frown and looked down, standing alone between the two groups.
Connor already could tell he could be trouble from the look he was given. Probably because of his Bandanna, however, he does need to be taught one thing and that was to not judge a book by its cover. From the looks of it, the person probably has that device too with Veemon and Gumdramon as his partners. Connor didn't know that you could have two at once.
To get a better look, and for it to be easier to talk to, Connor walked down the stairs of his front porch to then stand closer to Justice as Connor's Digimon also moved to stand by his tamer. "Affirmative Action? Granted, I probably riled your pal up but, he gave me a concussion and probably did the same to your other....pal." He said to him, not knowing that Veemon and Gumdramon are brothers.
"Yeah, he was about to show him respect. Whatever that means, I bet it wasn't going to be good." Armadillomon chimed in,
Justice's face lit up at both Connor and Armadillomon's words. The idea that Gumdramon would assault a human, but his own brother in addition made his body riddled in anger. He quickly yanked the purple dragon off his feet and punched him up the head. "WHAT THE HELL POSSESSED YOU TO DO THAT YOU DUNCE," he yelled, "Today I wanted to wanted you guys to have some fun since classes don't resume for me until next week. And the next thing I see when I get out of the shower is you two missing! He held the digimon so his eyes would meet his. So tell, me: what made you have the bright idea to attack a person you don't know?"
Gumdramon hadn't truly given much though until now. Why did he do it? He couldn't remember why because everything went fuzzy. He turned to his brother, who was sitting on the lawn looking on, holding his head. That was when the realization hit him; the frustration of him wanting to digivolve so badly accumulated into hurting those around him, even when they're talking reason to him. It was all the more reason to hide it and play the smug card.
"Humans need to learn respect under the presence of the Wild Child. I...I only hurt him a little bit." Gumdramon said those words with confidence, but he only met with a hard noogie from Justice.
"THAT'S NOT WHAT I AKSED YOU DIGITAL DUMMY" replied Justice, comically rubbing his knuckles on his head harder. Justice look up to Connor, with a little bit of guilt on his face. "I am so, so, so sorry about this. He doesn't know any better, so if you have beef with him, put it on me."
"That's not how I'll treat my new partner," Connor said to himself. "I get the yelling but, I think you're taking it a bit too far." He said to Justice.
"Huh? But, isn't he getting what he deserved. I mean, would you have done the same to the 'digital dummy' as to show HIM respect?" Armiddilomon asked Connor.
Connor looked down at him and let out a sigh. "I wouldn't be any better thanhim. Why add fuel to the fire when you could've put out the flames instead?" He kneeled down in front of his Digimon to give him a smile under his bandanna. "Know what I mean?"
"Yeah, I think I do. But, what is fuel anyway?"He asked him curiously.
"I'll tell you later," Connor answered him.
Connor stood up to look at Justice. "I'm assuming that you've been dealing with this recently?" referring to Gumdramon and Veemon popping up into Justice's life.
Justice loudly exhaled. "I mean yeah, you got a point." He put down Gumdramon and regained a bit of composure; it's been an hour since he woke up and was still feeling crabby. Though, he can't excuse his Digimon's actions since his actions reflect on him. Veemon went up to Justice and slightly elbowed his knee to get his attention. "Deep breaths, Justice. Deep breaths." Veemon said.
Justice did what he said and took a few deep breathes. He listened to what Connor and Amaradillomon's conversation. He didn't know that this was their first meeting, but so far they seemed to be best friends in the making. He turned to Connor when he addressed him.
"For about a week now, yes. When I first met them, they mugged me of my phone, so you can see how that turned out. But you gotta understand, for the short time that I've known them, these two brothers like to fight. So much so that it's literally their second language. Heck, this little blue guy will go up to any new Digimon and ask if they want to spar. I'm surprised that he hasn't asked you Digimon yet for a sparring match."
Veemon started to blush at the complement. "Ah shucks, I can't help it. I always like to fight strong opponents." Veemon gave what he thought was the best 'assuring' smile and turned to look at his brother, who stood in place, not saying a word.
"Brothers? I didn't know they were related somewhat." Connor said to Justice as he looked at the Veemon and Gumdramon. "Yet, they both look different."
"This may sound weird but, I wish I had a brother of my own." Armiddillomon looked up at Justice. "Also, I wouldn't mind for a quick spar-"
"Armiddillomon, right? I'm not sure if that would be a good idea at this time. It would be best if we, and I mean all of us, to get along with each other. Considering, that we got off on the wrong foot." He not only turned his head to his Digimon but, Justice and his twin Digimon as well.
"My name is Connor. And you already know who Armidillomon is. What's your name for the twins, if you don't mind me asking." He asked Justice.
"Yep! From what I've been told, they were born from the same Digi-egg." Justice said to Connor, now giving off a light-hearted mood. "Oh and a Digi-egg is self explanatory: a Digital egg." He added. "It's nice to meet you Connor. And you already know my name." Veemon quickly jumped on his back in excitement.
"And I'm Veemon! Nice to meet-cha!"
"And the trouble maker over there is Gum-"
Justice was cut off as Gumdramon jumped on the neighboring house, going back to Justice's dorm by rooftop.
Both Justice and Veemon fell silent, unable to continue to conversation and watched as the purple dragon slowly disappeared.
