A Walk in the Woods (Hiroyo, Tsukiko, Eleonora)

With a nod of his head Morgan acknowledged Mitsuharu’s words. The Fanbeemon hovered a little closer to the mark left on the would to inspect it-lifting one claw to feel the residual heat quickly fading away. “A good clean cut with good control over the heat as well. With this we will have no need to fear losing our way or the forest burning down around us.” His voice didn’t leave its calm monotone but perhaps it would be clear regardless that Morgan spoke words of praise.
The buzz from his wings grew louder as he worked to regain his usual cruising altitude: roughly twice as high as Hiroyo was tall. Height reached he followed Mitsuharu back to the group. Patches of greenery bloomed like bushes his vision and it was with a small ‘tsk’ of annoyance that Morgan realized the lower branches and leaves of the forest around them created more blindspots than he had been expecting at this angle. Limited aerial visibility was ruled to be important on his mental to-do list so he ducked around a particularly low hanging branch then took quiet sentinel position over the main group.
Roger was truly interested in what the gears had to say: it was obvious to Hiroyo at least by the way he was actually listening and didn’t interrupt either one of them or their human when they spoke. She couldn’t understand it himself, his fascination with fighting in general and in particular was just beyond her ken. ‘Maybe it’s because home is so peaceful.’ She thought, kicking a clump of fallen leaves into the air with her foot. ‘If I lived in a more dangerous place, would I be that worried about protecting myself all the time?’
“Hah! You’re pretty smart: keep things like that in mind and you’ll make a fine general!~” Roger strike a pose at Eleanore’s words, his body twisting dramatically into an s-shape on Hiroyo’s shoulder with his beak tilted skyward. It appeared his words of praise were easily won by flattery, something that might be useful for Eleanore’s comfort levels if she manipulated it in the future.
Her private musings were cut short, both by Eleonora speaking about her experiences and the interplay between Tsukiko and Mitsuharu. There was something delightfully amusing about the way Mitsuharu misinterpreted his human’s words. Hiroyo stifled a quiet laugh behind her hand. It might be difficult to deal with long-term, but in the short it was a welcome snap-shot of fun after the last few weeks!
“For what it’s worth I agree with Tsu-Tsu: Layla, Tsukiamon. You two seem like excellent partners!”
Then the gears spoke the warning from their smaller counter parts and Hiroyo took a faltering step, stumbling slightly over the empty air. She was able to keep her feet, and quick to follow Tsukiko’s directions, scurrying behind a tree on the opposite side of the path from where the others had run. At Mitsuharu’s words she looked to Morgan only to find that the bee was already moving.
“Are you going too?” She asked, tilting her head back slightly so she could see Roger out of the corner of her eyes. The Kunemon round his beak then gave a slight shake of his head but stay uncharacteristically quiet. She frowned slightly but didn’t press him, instead she tipped her head to a more normal position and began to scan the area for the threat. As long as the other three girls were together she could use herself to deliver one feisty worm directly to the enemy.
“Understood. Keep them safe, Roger!” Morgan declared, his voice never rising in volume but changing in intensity. He was quick to react, dodging around another branch and headed for an opening in the canopy. Once above the treetops the Fanbeemon called the breeze to swirl around him while he scanned the treetops below. It wasn’t a sure-fire method of visually detecting the enemy: if the foe was on the forest floor Morgan might only catch glimpses through the leafy canopy. If the foe was in a tree, however, then the movement of the branches should be obvious from up here.
Assuming of course that said mystery enemy was strong enough or big enough to shake a whole tree with its movements.

Layla blew a strand of hair away from her face as she listened to Eleonora's charmed life. "Well, aren't you lucky?" she joked, giving Eleonora a teasing nudge to show she wasn't being serious in her mocking. "You'd think having a lot of siblings like I did would make it easier on me, right? But none of us could ever agree on what to do half the time, so everything kept getting way more out of hand than it needed to be. Gets lonely without them, but I'm kinda glad we all struck it out on our own. Means I can actually hear myself think, for starters." She laughed a little as she said this, eyes bright as she let nostalgia wash over her. "God, you should've seen how the two oldest kept going at it. They could barely agree what to have for dinner."
While Layla was busy reminiscing, Tsukaimon beamed at the praise from Hiroyo and Tsukiko. "Yep, yep!" she chirped. "What's a Digivice. anyway? Some kinda beepy thing? That's not a tamer! A tamer's a person. They gotta be strong, and smart, and brave, and nice. That's the part that matters, right?" It wasn't the most poetic insight, but judging by the soft smile on Layla's face it resonated nonetheless.
All of these conversations came to a halt as the twin gears alerted the group to trouble. Most of the party took to the treeline, getting out of the direct path of the Gorillamon. Solarmon and Hagurumon had the group's rear and front covered. Morgan had taken to the skies, to serve as equal parts aerial reconnaissance and a distraction. Finally, Mitsuharu was going on the offensive, approaching closer to Gorillamon in hopes of pushing this fight forward.
It was smart of the entire group to take cover, because once Mitsuharu emerged from the treeline Gorillamon went on the offensive. He swung down from his tree branch and fired a large barrage of energy blasts at the Agumon's last known position. The trees that it ducked behind were seared, in some cases bad enough to start sagging and dipping from the punishment. Mitsuharu himself, however, was untouched, the Gorillamon failing to lead his shots properly. It let out a grunt as Mitsuharu's approach continued, and swung down from the treeline to try and engage the Agumon in close combat.
Bad move. The two KoSolarmon detonated in sync, the combined explosion singing Gorillamon's fur and sending him stumbling forward. Normally, this would have just dazed Gorillamon rather than hurting him too much, and sure enough the Gorillamon was already picking himself back up off of the ground. However, he failed to account for the other fact about tree-mounted explosions: what comes up must come down.
With a groaning creak, the two trees each bent inwards, collapsing onto the Gorillamon's back. He let out a pained howl, and then fell still.
Even from up in the skies, Morgan could probably see that. However, there was some other subtle movement coming from the trees. This one wasn't coming from in front of the group's position but instead behind it, the tops of the branches slowly yet gently swaying in a rhythmic fashion. Who could be the cause of this? Perhaps the group would know once the branches directly above them started to sag. Right after this a large, yellow-furred hand shot through the branches, grabbing Tsukaimon in a fist bigger than the bean itself was.
Layla turned around, fists clenched in a white-knuckled grip. "Hey!" she shouted, primed as if ready to attack the fist herself.
As the Tsukainapping began, the Gorillamon started to stir once more. It wearily cracked an eye open, then snapped a large branch off of the tree that had fallen on its back. Almost as if using a makeshift spear, it recklessly hurled it in Mitsuharu's direction. Not the most powerful attack, but for a Digimon that was half buried alive it was an admirable attempt.

Leo laughed a little in response to Layla's tease, was she lucky tho? Of course she got everything she wanted without a question she was the little princess of the house that was lucky, at the same time now she's alone and knows barely anything about being independent so maybe, just maybe she could've use a little more responsibility a while back.
"As far as I know I'm an only child and as you pointed out I was pretty lucky growing up, but I wouldn't mind having a sister or even a brother I feel I would have more fun with a brother" And so the German girl started get lost on her own thoughts
The gears meanwhile focus on Tsukaimon who seemed to not completely understand how the digivice and term tamer worked, well lucky for her the gears are always ready to drop a truckload of information even when nobody asks for it
"The beepy thing is known as digital device or Digivice for short, it's a device made so humans can interact more easily with the digimons and the digital world"
"The D-3 is the standard version for tamers it's designed with the objective to make evolution easier, the emotions of the tamer are pass to the partner through the strong bond they share and with the help of the digital device that it's turn into data that overflows the digimon making it evolve, it also give access to armor evolution "
"The D-tector is the one use by Spirit users and this one let the humand wield the power of an ancient digimon and transform into one"
"Finally the Xros Loader use by the Xros General are use to achieve the DigiXros or Xros Evolution as well to keep track of all the digimon under the general's command"
Eleonora sighed once the gear's explanation ended, she can't have one second to let her mind go lost into her thoughts without those two talking like parrots spitting all the information they have... On a less tiring note she smile when her comment get the Dokunemon in a good mood and even strike a pose, it help her to be more comfortable around the centipede but sadly the time to talk have ended as the group storm into hiding leaving their partners to do the fight
Mitsuharu and Morgan where quick to move and try to engage the threat while Roger and both gear stay close to the group, it wasn't much they could do until the enemy show itself and even then it was a champion and as of now the power of the two gears was half a rookie each so a full front fight was not an ideal outcome, they would stay close to the group and protect them if needed and await for their general's orders.
Even if they weren't really involve in the fight they got a lucky strike as the KoSolar activate once the big ape got down from the branches and the explosion trap him under some trees, the fight should be easier now as the enemy is trapped but unknowingly to the group there was something else lurking around and in a quick move it grabbed Tsukaimon and started running away.
"Solar Burst ready and aiming!" Solarmon X said as it was turning redder and redder shining like if he was containing fire inside of him
"NO! Cancel the attack it could hurt Tsukaimon!" Was that a good call? She wouldn't know but the last thing they need is start a fire in the forest and as she mention hurt Tsukaimon in the process. "Gurren is up to you, use your darkness gears!"
"Affirmative" Said Hagurumon X and position itself trying to have a nice shot at the beannapper, sadly with all the branches on his way it was difficult to aim. "Darkness Gear ready" seconds after that Hagurumon open his mouth releasing several dark gears flying like razors towards the mysterious enemy

Things inside the forest were developing at a faster pace than what the group could afford. Right now, it was too difficult to actually spot the figure attacking them. The canopy didn’t help at all; aside from covering the enemy, it was also blocking the sunlight. The main contrast between the darkness from the forest was produced by the light coming from that barrage of energy, shinning on every inch of its movement. It wasn’t going straight against him, so it only took a swift movement from the samurai to the side to dodge the technique coming his way.
It was time; Mitsuharu was at range to throw a slash. Finally, he was able to see his rival properly. “There you are.” He muttered, clenching his teeth. He couldn't know for sure, but it seemed like an adult digimon, so it was clear this battle was not going to be easy. The Bushi Agumon decided to take a leap towards the enemy. But… there was no need to actually slice him. The explosion from the Ko-Gears sent Mitsuharu flying back. He managed to land on his feet, panting, while he stared at the development. Now two logs had fallen over the silver-pelted creature, and he seemed unable to cause any harm… for now.
Tsukiko, on her side, was startled at the sight of that yellow-colored hand coming from the brushes. “Tsukaimon!” She yelled, trying to warn the little bean to be careful. It was too late. This creature had snatched their friend. Frustration was visible in her blue eyes, she felt helpless to aid the little digimon, being that her partner was far from them, unable to save her.
“We can’t lose it!” Once Gurren had launched its attack, Tsukiko would get ready to run after whatever had taken the little flying purple digimon if it was necessary. If it tried to make a run for it, the pink-haired girl would definitely chase it. This probably was not the best idea, but the Ashikaga Clan was not about letting a poor child to their doom after being kidnapped by some monster! She had to give her absolute best, even if Mitsuharu was not there. “Roger! Can you stop him?” Maybe the insect could weave a thread towards the enemy to stop it from escaping; this was only a vague assumption on the type of digimon he seemed. Of course, she probably didn't even need to say this. It was up to Morgan to actually identify what kind of creature it was.
Regarding the swordsman, the first round was coming his way. While the Gorimon stood up, he prepared his sword, holding it in a sideways position, ready to defend himself. Apparently, the beast was trying to use some type of self-crafted wooden weapon to harm in. The Samurai would take advantage of the time the ape was taking to perform this clumsy technique and would get ready to strike his attacker himself, after taking a leap backward to remain out of range of the monkey.
“Itto-ryu…” There was no way he was letting this monkey escape. In a swift movement, the dinosaur maneuvered his sword forming a circle, shooting a tornado with its vortex aiming towards the opponent. “Slashing Tornado!”
Hopefully, this slicing wind could stop that Gorimon, or at least break his weapon. Even if he was an adult digimon, it seemed to be still a little bit groggy from those trees falling over him, so this would hopefully have some effect on him.
Itto-ryu; Slashing Tornado: After performing a quick, circular movement with his sword, Mitsuharu creates a small side-ways tornado, traveling at full throttle against the opponent to slash him. Cooldown: [0/3]

Hiroyo almost wasn't surprised by the secondary hand that had snagged Tsukaimon. No, perhaps thet truth was that while the act had surprised her, the fact it happened did not.
If it was one thing the Digital World knew how to do, it was throw curve balls.
"I'm getting sick of never getting a chance to talk anything out like an adult!" She yelled and she shoved herself up from her holding space and began sprinting after the fleeing, yellow figure.
Back was front now, but which way would Morgan turn to support? She knew the bee had been worried earlier about an attack from the back, but would he go now to support the samurai or help in the rescue attempt?
'What a silly question,' She thought as Roger yelled a replpy to Tsukiko's call. There was a fight in front of Roger and a justified reason for letting him fight.
For once her interest aligned perfectly with the worm.
"You don't have to tell me twice!" Roger reared back in an S-shape on Hiroyo's shoulder, his head pointed firmly towards the swiftly moving shape. The stripes on his face narrowed in concentration. It was tough to track even with his electrical senses but fortunately for all involved he wasn't going to fire a single thread.
He was going to fire a net.
Roger compressed his s-pose like a springas Hiroyo continued her run, his eyes tracked on the beast above them. There! An opening in the canopy, enough for him to fire.
"Sticky Net!" HIs mouth opening with his cry the little worm shoved off of Hiroyo's shoulder and propelled himself forward to give yet another little boost to the intricate net of thread that flew from his mouth. The strands gleamed in the light, a silent highlight.
Meanwhile Morgan was behaving much as Hiroyo had predicted. There were more on the ground to chase after the mysterious swaying in the trees that he had seen before and while the shouts and yelling didn't sound good there were more there to deal with the situation than there currently was to deal with the Gorimon.
He wasn't much of a direct fighter himself, but Morgan found the current situation to be much to his liking. He dove to beneath the treetops, angling to come in at the side of the duel between Mitsuharu and Gorimon.
"Hachi Hachi Call!" He called. His wings began to vibrate, a buzzing noise beginning to fill the air. It grew, louder and louder until it was beyond what a single bee, even a giant one like Morgan, should be able to create. The answer was soon clear as a swarm of regular-sized bees burst into the clearing and made a beeline for Gorimon's face, tiny stingers at the ready.
Trapped as he currently was under the branches the gorilla would soon find himself with a face full of stingers and - more importantly to Morgan - his vision obscured by the bodies of the tiny assailants.
------------------------------------- Roger used Sticky Web - No damage, Slows Rookies by a quarter speed, slows champs by 5%. 1 turn duration, 2 turn cool down.
Morgan used Hachi Hachi Call - Bee swarm targets opponents face, partially impairing vision and hearing. Deals small damage, lasts 2 turn for Rookies, 1 turn for champions. 2 turn cooldown.

As the large arm pulled away, Roger's aim struck true. His electrified net shot through the canopy, lighting it up just enough for the group to get a proper view of their assailant. This Digimon was also ape-like, but rather than the stout, gorilla-esque Gorillamon it looked to be tall and lean. Its body was covered not only in fur but also in quills, red tips standing out from the yellow that made up the rest of its hair. Its skin was almost a drowned tone of blue, and it slung a large bone over its shoulder with the hand that wasn't holding Tsukaimon hostage. This was an Apemon, and it looked diligent and disciplined as it prepared to leap away from the canopy.
At least, of course, until the net hit and tangled around its legs. What was supposed to be a graceful jump from tree to tree turned into a stumble as the Apemon hit the ground. Even a small slow like Roger's was enough to leave it stuck on the ground floor with everyone else, and it grunted in frustration as it tried running off to make the best of the situation. The net's illumination and speed reduction made it easy for Hagurumon X to track the Apemon, too. The first few dark gears hit right on target, sending Apemon stumbling with each strike.
By the time the last gears would impact, Apemon was prepared. He wheeled around, moving Tsukaimon into the path of the attacks. She let out a high-pitched yelp as she was hit, Apemon leering maliciously at the group all the while. Then he turned tail and ran, bowling over trees with hefty swings of his bone.
Gorillamon fared less well than his ally. No matter how much bigger or stronger he was than Morgan, his eyes were still his eyes. And now his eyes were practically miniature beehives, the Gorillamon howling in pain as the Hachi Hachi Call took effect. He practically clawed at his face with his hand, tearing as many fistfuls of bees away as possible, but he could still barely see through the swarm. His hesitance left him wide open, and even as he tried to sidestep Mitsuharu's strike he came up short. The tornado sliced right into his arm cannon, cutting at the wiring holding it together. It sparked dangerously, and the Gorillamon gave it a few frustrated whacks with his hand to try and make it stop.
Another whack came after, but not from the expected source. Apemon had run up to its simian brother, giving him a whack on the head and motioning for him to get running. The Gorillamon shook his head and followed, still being tailed by the bees all the while. With one blinded and the other slowed, they were far from perfect at dashing through the forests. However, they were making quite good pace nonetheless, especially with Apemon hellbent on uprooting every tree in their path. It was almost as if his goal was less to crush and more to get in everyone else's way.
Layla tried to run after the apes, fists clenched into white-knuckled balls. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I should've been more careful," she muttered under her breath, stumbling as she tried to climb over uprooted trees. "Maybe there's still time. Maybe . . . maybe we can still catch up, right?"
In front of the apes' positions, a fog was rolling in.

A big grin was drawn on Eleonora's face as she saw the team attack of Roger and Gurren working and giving some trouble to the new ape in the end it seemed that she did make the right call, the German girl was proud that for it being her first battle she had reliable allies and the gears cooperate without questioning, her smile fade once she saw the apemon putting Tsukaimon in front of Gurren's attack, she immediately order to stop but it was too late and the little bean was hit by the darkness gear.
With that small window the group of apes made their escape, it wasn't a swift one as Gorillamon was blind and his canon damaged, yet apemon took advantage of his strength and started throwing down trees to put it in the way of the party so they wouldn't have an easy time following them, Eleonora got closer to Layla ho was trying to climb the fallen trees and hold her
“Stop… It's not your fault…” she said trying to stop the girl from climbing. “We will catch them and bring back Tsukaimon safe but you have to calm down” Leo said and then look st the gears. “What are our options?” She asked.
“Calculating… Three possible options” “One to use our drills and Mitsuharu's Katana to cut the trees and open the path” “Two, since the digimon will have an easier time moving in through the fallen trees we can follow them and fight them while still on the run, we have the advantage in number “Three. Find an alternative route, Gurren's KoGear are still active, it should be easy to track them down even with the mist and they running away”
Eleonora thought for some minutes, the first and last option are the ones that take most time while the second is faster not only relies on a group of Rookies taking down two digimon that are above their level but it also means the humans will be alone…
“I think I have an idea” said the German girl her voice tone showed that she wasn't entirely sure but it was worth the try “What if we split? Miss Ashikaga, Mitsuharu, Lagann and I stay here and try to cut the trees, While miss Oda, Morgan and Roger take Gurren and look for an alternative path, with Morgan scouting from above and the KoGears you guys should have an easier time to get to them” she finish the explanation, it wasn't the best plan but it seems like the best choice. “Of course if any of you have another plan it'll help a lot, a good general has to listen to all possibilities!” Better start taking the title of general and act like one now that the times requires it.

Mustering a small grin while he looked at the bees covering the monkey’s eyes, Mitsuharu finally threw his technique against him. It seemed to have dealt enough damage to even make the canon of the ape start to malfunction. Tsukiko, on her side, used her digivice to identify the creature the group was chasing, once the glimmering thread of Roger allowed her to properly catch a glance on him. She closed her eyes when he saw the gears hitting Tsukaimon and heard the digimon squeal. It broke her heart to know such an adorable digimon was suffering any kind of pain. But, most importantly, she was filled with anger. To think that monkey could use such a dirty tactic like utilizing Layla’s partner as a shield. It didn’t take long for her to reach Mitsuharu, since the Apemon had headed towards his partner and let him know it was time to retire. Of course, the Ashikagas weren’t going to just stand and watch. Along the rest of the group, they started to chase the enemies, which proved to be a hard task, since Tsukaimon’s kidnapper was putting uprooted trees on their way. Weren’t it for this, it didn’t seem like they were too hard to catch, due to the damage they had taken from the battle. Nevertheless, that mist could be a problem. “Not maybe.” Tsukiko replied to Layla. Her tone of voice was cold. Dishonor was both something she didn’t tolerate and what could describe better what these creatures had done. “We’re definitely going to get Tsukaimon back, no matter what.” Her eyes were fixed on the escaping creatures, while she listened to Eleonora’s suggestion. “That makes sense. I think splitting is not a bad idea. However...” She squinted at the fog that could be seen in the distance. “If someone has a way of taking care of that fog they’re about to go through, I would really appreciate it. That’s the only thing they can use to escape from us.”Someone might wonder what about the trees in front of them. Well, Tsukiko didn’t have time for those. An angered tamer pulled her digivice out, pointing at her partner with it. “Ashikagas. Stand up.” She stated, her tone of voice firmer than ever, but still ice cold. Rings of light surrounded Mitsuharu, while a holographic digimental materialized in front of the pink haired lady. Slowly, the dinosaur grew. His skin turned to a dark green color. He now was a tall warrior with blades on his wrists, a giant sword hanging from his back and purple-colored pants. Tsukiko’s feelings had reached Mitsuharu, who now looked rather angry too. They didn’t have time to lose, and the Dinohumon was definitely acting according to this situation. Letting go a deafening roar, the new Mitsuharu slammed against the uprooted trees with both of the blades on his wrist, using all of his strength. It shouldn’t take long for him to get those out of the way, especially on this form. “Go.” Tsukiko's voice was heard again. Once her partner was done with the pieces of bark, the dinosaur would start running at full throttle against the escaping monkeys, ready to destroy any other pieces of wood Apemon might throw his way. Hopefully, any of their teammates could take care of that fog, or that might be an issue.

"Yesss! Trip on that!" Roger called as his net struck home. It was wonderful to watch to the yellow ape stumble and Roger leaned forward dangerously far on Hiroyo's shoulder in hopes of seeing it fall. Instead she and he got front row tickets to a rather horrible sight instead.
"That's awful!" Hiroyo cried out as Tsukaimon was used as a shield. Her movements slowed enough to allow the yellow ape to pull considerable distance, enough to meet up with the white gorilla again.
"That's a tactic." Roger replied, his voice bitter not at what was done but that such a tactic was used against him. That wasn't going to keep him from heckling the ape in an attempt to get it to turn around. He raised his voice and his head. "A tactic of a scared monkey that only knows how to fling filth around! Yeah, I can see why you ran from a bunch of rookies!"
The yelling made him feel a little better, but now with the trees in the way and the rest of the group planning, Roger ground his beak in frustration. Follow? They wanted him to follow? Of course he would but with his tiny little legs he couldn't keep up easily! Morgan had stayed long enough to hear and acknowledge the general's commands before taking off after the two escapees. Hiroyo was adept enough at climbing that she could carry him over the trees with decent speed but it wouldn't be enough to keep up with the apes.
"Hiroyo! Throw me!"
"What?"
"Throw me! Over the trees!"
"That's, that's ridiculous, it'll never wo-"
"THROW ME!" Roger howled. She gave him a 'look' then sighed, holding out the arm he was perched on. He happily crawled to her hand and curled into a ball, silently praising himself for his idea. Hiroyo was strong, for a human. Even with all his weight on one arm it barely dipped at all - until she reared back and grabbed both sides of his body. This close he could hear her step back on one foot, could feel as she pulled the arm with him on it behind her.
Suddenly there was a burst of nerves and synapses firing, a sudden rush of wind, and he was airborne.
His impromptu flight took his dangerously close to one of the trees in his path - he could feel one of his antenna smack against it as he whizzed by. A hum, like that of a high intensity power line, became noticeable as little sparks jumped and leaped across the coil of his body. He tumbled through the air and let electricity dance across him.
"Morgan! Boost!"
Morgan had lived with Roger longer than Hiroyo had known the digivice she carried even existed. He was use to his brother's plans - well intentioned but fraught with blind faith in success as they were. Roger tried whatever came into his head without thinking about the consequences because it was natural for him.
So when a ball of black and yellow arched downwards through the air beneath him him, following it up was a learned response but it didn't take his brain long to short cut to the probably most beneficial way of doing it. Air rapidly gathered around him, a small swirling storm in miniature. He sighted his brother, and then the targets, focusing his will and attempting to impart it into the wind beneath him. Would it work? Would it care? Either way meant they would be closer to the goal and on the right side of the wall. Perhaps as a bonus the tiny windstorm would temporarily clear a little of the fog as well.
"Tiny Pursuing Twister!"
Hiroyo perked up at the shout from her other bug, her mouth partially open as she panted for breath and fretted. She didn't quite know what Roger's plan was but she prayed it worked. Losing one of the two they were to protect was a kick to the guts she took personally.
From the way everyone else was reacting they took it just as personally and seriously as she did.
She hit the wall at a run. It slowed her only slightly, then she was hoisting herself up and over the trees at speed. The grooves and twists of the bark were easy hand and footholds, and she was soon up and over and on the forest floor again.
Her shoulders ached it was familiar, manageable. The ache of pushing one's muscles, of working the body in ways it wasn't use to. She certainly wasn't use to throwing Roger around like a pinball, but her legs were still alive. Beneath the canopy over head and into the foggy forest she ran. There was a familiar buzz ahead of her from Morgan's wings and a crazed cackling by even Roger's standards. Worry lent her power, lent her speed, and she raced after the twins with a steady pace and unsteady heart.
Why had neither of them asked to digivolve before giving chase?

Gorillamon seemed incensed by Roger's taunting, a vein protruding at the side of his head. He whipped around, arm cannon sparking dangerously as he tried to aim it right at the cantankerous caterpillar. Apemon saw it coming, however, and grabbed Gorillamon right by the scruff of his neck. At the very least, this meant both of Apemon's hands were occupied. No more trees would be felled by Apemon's swinging bone, at least for as long as Gorillamon was too busy barking and hollering to focus on a proper escape.
Not that the trees were much factor anymore. Mitsuharu had exploded into a tyrannosaurus warrior, the great and powerful Dinohumon. Layla smiled, both at the reassurance from Tsukiko and from Mitsuharu's ability to back it up. "You're right," she said, clenching her fist to her heart. "I know we can do this. And I'm not going to let my best friend get snatched by these . . . these . . . jerks!" She knew she couldn't contribute much to this situation combatwise, but Layla refused to let that stop her. "Hang in there, Tsukaimon! Please, don't give up hope!" she called, stretching out a hand towards the bean.
Faintly, she could see a small, stubby foreleg reaching back towards her.
Eleonora had a good plan, but it seemed the anger everyone felt lead to them coming to their own conclusions. Fortunately, these conclusions at least aimed in the same direction as the General's ambitions. Mitsuharu, for example, had taken his role of lumberjack with vigor. He charged forward like a raging beast, the trees before him diced into splinters. It was as if they were paying the price for daring to be in his way. The path before everyone would be far easier to navigate now, leaving this contest a race of endurance. Would the group's unhindered pace be able to chew through the monkeys' head start, or was there simply too much of a gap to begin with?
As the fog started to close in, it seemed that question would be answered. It almost stretched out to meet Apemon and Gorillamon, wispy tendrils curling around them to drag them further inside. Then, in a few more misty spirals, they were little more than silhouettes. Apemon's fist unclenched from Gorillamon's neck, and their silhouettes parted in two separate directions. Gorillamon had taken a hard bend to the left, and Apemon let himself drift forward to the right.
Only one shape matched their approach. Roger's sparking body, sitting atop Morgan's tornado as if he were an expert airbender, also careened into the fog. His tiny body also vanished, the fog seeming to coil around the tornado rather than let itself be dispersed. However, the group would see just enough of a disturbance in the fog to know that Roger's trip was a success. He had adhered to the Apemon with almost a static cling, the ape digging his fingers into his fur to try and pluck it off.
With the apes and Roger already swallowed up into the void, now would come the party's turn. The fog swirled towards them in thin, wispy tendrils, swaying back and forth like the tail of a curious cat. They seemed rather unobtrusive, and perhaps the party would try to charge right through them. Layla certainly did, running with all of her might to try and rush past the fog. However, her eyes widened in surprise as she felt her body slow down. It was less like moving through fog and more like wading through molasses, Layla letting out a frustrated huff as she tried to force her legs to move faster. Worse still, her movements no longer seemed to be her own. As she tried to push forward, she found herself forced to weave to the left and right. Soon she was being spun off course from the rest of the group. She turned, trying to call through the fog even as it swallowed up her voice. "Be careful, please," she asked. "I'll find you guys, one way or another. Just get Tsukaimon back . . ."
The fog would do the same thing to any others as it lingered over the group. It snaked between each member, trying to come between them and push them in different directions. Worse still, the fog only seemed to grow thicker over time. The silhouettes of the apes, once visible on the horizon, were now completely gone. Only the occasional flash of light from Roger's sparking body would give a hint as to Apemon's current location. Layla's, too, started to fade away, and the deeper into the fog one traveled the worst this swallowing would become. Sounds were swallowed up as well, until soon the only thing audible was the sound of one's own thoughts. The moisture and heat of the fog, once a soft, slight feeling, was starting to get unbearable.
It was as if the forest itself was trying to break the group up, assaulting nearly all of their senses to do so.

Well truth be told while she knew that they didn't have much time because it meant losing the ape, she did not expect the two girls just listen what she said and do the first thing they though, she won't argue with the results tho, evolving Mitsuharu to chop down the trees and throwing Roger to attach himself to the apemon work better than any of the plans she had, that's something Leo have to give credit to Tsukiko and Hiroyo not only were fast thinkers but they took action intermediately, unlike her that did nothing and wait to hear the rest...
The chase started once again now that the trees were out of the way, Mitsuharu and Hiroyo's partners took the front rather easily specially Roger that was riding a little tornado, Eleonora and the gears opted to stay on the back to offer cover and be ready for any kind of surprise attack, it wouldn't be dumb to think that there are more than those two and they just want to take them to an ambush, would it?
The group keep a fast pace and soon the gap they had was closing since Apemon stop throwing trees, but sadly seems that fate had a different plan as the small fog that was coming the deep they got in the forest was getting thicker and thicker to the point of not being able to see what they had in front, and as the time passed it got worse as slowly Eleonora start losing sight of the group and even Layla, she barely hear her voice telling the group to keep moving and rescue Tsukaimon that she'll find a way to get back to the group one way or another, at this point Leo thought that Hiroyo, Tsukiko and their partners would be enough to take care of the monkeys so she try to look for Layla and help her, big mistake as not only she couldn't find Layla thanks to the fog swallowing even her voice and in a couple of minutes the German girl realize that she was completely alone surrounded by the mist, not even her gears were around.
"Oh no..." Her eyes widened realizing that she was lost with no clear direction to where go. "No, no, no, no, no, this is not happening" Her desperation started to rise as she walk from were she came hoping to encounter at least one of her partners. "I'm an idiot! How could I let this happen? How did I screw this up?" Now frustration was rising too.
Didn't matter where she went the fog cover it all and trying to look for a visual key to tell her she found nothing, aside from some tiny sparks on the distant that she assumes is Roger but has no way to confirm that, so in her mind the only options she had was to follow that tiny spark to a trap or stay as an easy target on the fog... Her frustration reach peak and release it delivering a punch to a near tree and screaming, Lady Luck seemed to smile to Eleonora as from the tree she punch two small gears fall, it took some seconds to the German girl to understand what just happen but she recognize those two gears, the KoHagurus from Gurren, OK that's a start surely they'll be of great help to find her partners.
"Alright little one, listen carefully I'm going to ask some questions, I know you can't talk but if the answer is "Yes" beep once, beep twice for "no" and thrice if you're not sure, understand?" She took one of the KoGears on her hand, the little hagurumon just blinked and then Beeped once "Good, first question, Can you find Gurren?" The little gear beeped once confirming what the German girl thought. "Alright, can you find the others?" This time the gear beeped twice. "Got it... Last question, can you send a message to Gurren?" And once again the little gear beeped once "Alright tell it to ask Lagann to use his Solar burst and shoot it to the sky and act as a flare or start a small fire strong enough to shine a little in the mist, that'll call the attention of the others, we can't roam around with any direction or act carelessly this time we need to go with a plan, once you do that take me where they are"
With that said the little gear started beeping and it's eyes shine a little like the time the gears receive the first warning and after that both KoGears started moving through the fog with the German girl following behind, she hope that the "flare" was strong enough for the others to see, in the worst case scenario they would be far ahead near the tiny sparks and luckily they can take care of the kidnappers

Damn it.
Tsukiko knew this fog was bad news all along. However, she could not blame her partners at all, this thing seemed actually pretty hard to deal with. Panic started going through all of her body, as she felt unable to wade through this substance. It was almost as if it were alive, as if it were trying to break them up. It was frustrating, and even when she tried to fight it at first, the pink-haired then sighed, trying to think clearly, while this thing wiggled her body.
Regarding the rest of the squad? They were impossible to see right now. At first, she had been able to hear Mitsuharu’s voice call for her, but as time passed by, his shape got lost inside the mist and even the sound of his voice started wearing off. She barely had managed to hear Layla tell them to look for Tsukaimon and don’t worry about her, but right now they weren’t in conditions of looking for anyone! This thing was simply too strong to fight against.
No, right now it wasn’t the time to try and fight this thing. It was doing what it wanted with them, and it didn’t seem like force would be able to help them in this particular scenario. This thing was alive. Could it be the forest was alive? Why would the forest want to split them up? Or was this mist a digimon’s doing? She tried to think about the monkeys, at least what she could see some minutes ago while they escaped. Were their movements being decimated by the fog too? She couldn’t really tell. But if they were moving perfectly fine, then this had to be their doing. If this was the forest acting, it would make sense for the fog to affect the kidnappers too, right? So two possibilities surfaced in her head: Whether these monkeys weren’t too far from them also being slowed down by the fog, or they were moving without much trouble, since they were the ones causing this fog. Of course, the latter possibility seemed the worst for them in this scenario.
In any case, Tsukiko took a deep breath and tried to sharpen her senses. The Ashikaga clan maintained the same philosophy for a reason, so Mitsuharu did the same, on his own end. If this thing was trying to block their senses, it was probably because they were the way for them to get out of this situation. She calmed down and started trying to move slowly. Maybe this thing was like quicksand, the more you fought it the more you get swallowed by it. They also tried to listen, to get the sound of whatever could be nearby that could work as a hint. In addition, they tried to look around, trying to spot with their eyes anything of interest.
Whether it was Lagan’s solar burst or anything else, the duo would individually follow the lead of whatever their senses captured first, moving slowly on its direction, maintaining calm during the whole time. A flare trying to reunite the group, an extra enemy causing the fog or an interesting sound, whatever they caught first, they would follow that to see where it took them.
If the name of the game was concentration, the Ashikagas knew how to play.

Roger’s beak clicks with his laughter as he clings to Apemon’s fur. His sticky feet grant him a nearly unparalleled grip when he wishes, and right now his biggest wish is to bring the yellow-furred simian to a halt. Loose fur from his target is starting to stick to him - the build of electricity producing enough of a static cling to make Roger the living equivalent of a sticky roller. He can’t afford to stop and brush it off or even worry about it when his pride is on the line and the ‘mon he is promised to protect is in active danger!
“Release the potato!” He hollers rearing back so the first third of his body is curved. He jerks himself forward, the currently present static charge on his body crackling as he attempts to ram his beak into Apemon’s shoulder. With luck the combination of electricity and pain might just cause the potato in question to be dropped: a wise choice considering how things are starting to heat up!
“C’mon Tsukaimon! Show some backbone! Are you a partner or not?!” There’s a fog moving in that Roger doesn’t like but he has to trust others to deal with it. Right now is time for inflicting as much punishment as possible on the champion who’s become his unwilling steed while hoping their partner doesn’t decide to interfere.
He grinds his beak loudly. If only digivolving was an option! With Hiroyo so far away and other factors in play it is a remote possibility at best.
———————
Running into pea soup isn’t a wise idea and since the fog has taken the consistency of the Western dish, Hiroyo eventually slows down to a stop. Her awareness of just how bad the situation has gotten comes too late to keep her with the group and she’s treated to an unfamiliar experience. It’s quiet and she’s alone. She pants, corners of her mouth pulled down into an open frown as she looks left or right, pivoting around on her leg in desperation of some sign of the others until all she has succeeded in doing is losing her sense of direction.
Her frown shifts into a glare then into surprise at the sound of Layla’s voice coming through the woods. Its a thin thread of guidance in a pile of cottony misdirection but it is all she has. All she has is telling her to focus on Tsukaimon though, not the lost human girl alone in the woods. She swallows against the taste that idea leaves in her throat and raises her hands to cup around her mouth.
“We’ll find Tsukaimon! Just get yourself out of the forest! Follow the markings on the trees if you can!” She calls back as loudly as she can. How far had they come since the ambush point? Had Mitsuharu continued to slash trees after that? She can’t remember. Her left hand reaches for the clear plastic pouch holding the digivice on a shoelace around her neck. Her fingers barely dent the plastic her touch is so light, but it iss enough to ground her.
Oda Hiroyo may not be steel in silk but there is still metal in her soul.
She waits for her breath to return. Waits for her body to recover and for a sign. She paces between two trees, then three. She memorizes this small section as best she can as her hands mindlessly pull out lip balm and apply it. She won’t panic here, won’t lose her head or her cool. ‘I can handle this. Tsukiko, Eleanor, Morgan, Roger, Mitsuharu, Layla- they all can handle this.’
She repeats it again, out loud this time and slaps hands against her cheeks twice. When a sound comes from the distance her footsteps carry her in that direction. Hiroyo goes cautiously at first, then drops the pretense of keeping herself safe for possibly getting out of the creepy loneliness of the fog.
———————————————————
A branch smacks into Morgan’s face that’s thicker than the last and he finally lands on the truck of the offending tree. His antenna flick, flick, flick in agitation, in search of a sign from Roger, in search of anything beyond this choking fog.
He had stubbornly kept flying when it first rolled in. He wasn’t as fast in the air as Apemon and Gorimon were on the ground so it wasn’t a surprise when their forms disappeared from view. What was a surprise was the reason why. Rather than being a natural result of the two champions gradually increasing the distance and pulling away it had happened much, much sooner than his calculations had predicted.
He lifts his fore claw and waves it in the air, watching the little eddies left in the wake as they barely move the thickened air. He would put a month’s supply of reading materials on this not being normal, would even bet his prized copy of the Art of War on this being caused by something that’s working with the gorilla and their fellow.
He grinds his beak in frustration, a habit he’s picked up from Roger. His tornadoes had barely moved the fog and the wind will not answer again so soon. He looks up the trunk of the tree: his eyes following the bark up the limbs until the worryingly close place where the fog obscures.
‘So dense and disorientating… but how far does it go?’ The thought gives him pause. As far as he is aware the fog isn’t damaging or hindering them beyond confusing their senses. The forest is a big place, surely not all of it can be covered.
He goes up. Climbing at first so that there are no more unexpected collisions with tree branches suddenly looming from the fog. His antenna flick, flick, flick with impatience.
‘Tsukiko and Eleanor seem competent, as long as Layla stays with them she’ll be fine.’ Morgan thinks as he weaves his way around branch after branch on his path to the forest’s crown. The width of the branches shrinks slowly. The trees are old with many years of proud growth.
Roger is next on his mind. His last sight of the Kunemon was the curled up ball of his brother’s form moments before contact with the Apemon. Signs point to a worrisome success. ‘Roger has faced bigger and meaner before,’ Morgan reminds himself and he pushes down on a tree branch to hoist himself up in a particularly tricky section. ‘His goal is rescue, not conquest.’
Hopefully that means the little lightning bug will escape rather than stay to fight. Morgan has his doubts but his brother still surprises him after all these years.
Relation does not necessarily breed understanding.
'Hiroyo will-' There, a break in the trees. Morgan pushes away from the tree with more force than he meant to use. He’s excited to be in the air, so high in the canopy that the branches are rapidly dwindling to twigs. It’s a short trip to pierce through the canopy of leaves, to emerge into the sky like a fish leaping from water. Hopefully it would thin up here and he would be able to the extent of what they were dealing with.

And so, each of our brave heroes set forth. Even in the face of the all-consuming fog, they kept their heads held high. Their paces slowed. Their senses dulled. Soon, they would be able to make out little more than their own hands in front of their faces. Yet as they pressed onward, each with their own plan of action, the fog would start to peel away. It was imperceptible at first, wispy tendrils lifting away from the rest of the cloudy mass. However, each second that past lifted the veil a little bit more. Once the ambient chirps, clicks, and hums of the forest started to reassert themselves, it was clear that the worst of the fog had passed.
Unfortunately, as silhouettes started to reform in the fog, there was a distinct lack of human or Digimon shadows along the treeline. In fact, by the time the fog peeled away, each individual within its bounds would see that they were left all by their lonesome.
For Eleonora and the KoGears's Eyes Only:
Eleonora couldn't really tell if her message had gone through or not. The fog was too dense for any spark to be seen through it, after all. However, there was a certain peace of mind that the action had offered. After all, the KoGears would experience no technical failures, radio interference, or dropped signals. It was a sign that, even if communication wouldn't be easy. it was at least still a possibility.
That said, would Eleonora be able to cling onto that faith? She may not have had any proof of her failure, but she didn't have any proof of her success either. And with the silhouettes and footsteps of her teammates only growing more and more distant, it seemed likely that her attempt had failed.
Just as the last silhouette faded from view, a pair of beady eyes appeared in the fog. They bobbed up and down as they followed Eleonora, making it almost look like the fog had a face. Then the eyes narrowed cruelly as the fog parted, revealing sharp, gleaming teeth on a lipless mouth. "I'm an idiot!" the voice repeated, the mouth promptly shutting and retreating back into the fog. Only the beady eyes remained, followed by two more pairs flanking it to each side. They, too, sprouted mouths and spoke. "How did I screw this up?" they said, one right after the other.
As they finished, two more appeared in their place. Then another two. Then another two. Each time they appeared they were followed by more of Eleonora's own words.
"This is not happening!"
"How could I let this happen?"
"I'm an idiot!"
"I'm an idiot!"
"I'm an idiot!"
Soon a swarm of eyes and mouths had practically surrounded Eleonora, their hateful words running over each other into a stream of white noise. Slowly but surely they started to press inwards, as if hoping to overwhelm Eleonora entirely. Their beady eyes grew larger by the second, and their mouths twisted into cruel smiles. Occasionally a small, clothy arm reached out towards Eleonora, writhing by her face but never quite reaching her. More and more of these cloth arms started to sprout as well, each reaching out towards her.
Then a purple backpack came shooting through the fog, sending the faces scattering. Scrambling away like this, they almost looked like they were classical bedsheet ghosts. As they dispersed the fog did so too, revealing a tired-looking Layla holding the backpack. "Damnit, Leo . . . I came as soon as I heard those . . . things," she muttered, looking worriedly at the General. "Are you okay?"
For Tsukiko and Mitsuharu's Eyes Only:
The fog had swallowed all sight and sound, but there was still one unexpected ally on Mitsuharu's side. As he honed his senses one by one, it would be the sense of smell that ended up picking something up first. The stagnant, swampy air had intermingled with an almost oily odor, tinged with the slightest hint of blood. Next came the sense of touch. Mitsuharu's claw would run cold as it landed in a puddle. When he made contact with the puddle, the scent would only intensify in his nostrils. It seemed the two were tied to one another. Had Mitsuharu stumbled upon a clue?
The stretch between puddles was interminable, especially as the fog continued bogging down each of Mitsuharu and Tsukiko's movements. However, that shared scent continued connecting each puddle to the next, forming a trail that not even the fog's best efforts could break. It was also clear that Tsukiko and Mitsuharu weren't the only ones having trouble moving through the fog. A familiar ape-like silhouette was taking form at the edge of Tsukiko's vision, sparks occasionally flying from the busted cannon on its left arm.
It may have become all too clear who was leaving these puddles of oil behind.
As the fog started to clear up, the Gorillamon took notice of Tsukiko and Mitsuharu's pursuit. It turned around and started to backpedal, resting a hand on its arm cannon. However, it stopped just as quickly as it started, almost as if it had bumped into something. Sure enough, when the fog finished dispersing, the Gorillamon was backed into a stone wall. Moss and web-like cracks spread across its surface, and what seemed like a circular shape at first had been broken into several pieces. In fact, the more the fog pulled away, the more of these worn-down stone walls were visible. Just what was this place?
The Gorillamon, seeing no other options, leaped to the top of the stone wall and rained a plasma barrage down on Mitsuharu. With each shot his cannon sparked more dangerously, but he seemed too hell-bent on chasing Mitsuharu away to notice.
Neither did he notice Layla, who was crouched down on the other side of the stone wall. She looked up at Tsukiko, winking conspiratorially. Did she have a plan?
For Hiroyo's Eyes Only:
As the fog around Hiroyo started to clear, she would be bemused to learn that the increased clarity did nothing to help her vision. Slowly, it changed from a smoky white to an inky black as the fog was swallowed up by pure darkness. Only the occasional beam of light shined down from the canopy, serving as a reminder to Hiroyo that she had not gone completely. However, these were little more than fleeting glimpses, quickly swallowed up by the natural swaying of the branches above.
Perhaps if Hiroyo spent time trying to follow their path, she would notice that they curled in the path of a spiral.
The ground here was muddy, Hiroyo's feet starting to sink into it if she stayed still for too long. A droning hum echoed through the forest, increasing and decreasing in volume at seemingly random intervals. If Hiroyo listened closely, it almost sounded like the buzz of a bee's wings. Occasionally there was a smell of burning rubber, but it subsided almost as quickly as it arose.
Despite all the eerie sights and smells, Hiroyo was well and truly alone. At least, of course, until something hard smacked into her back. Layla hard burst through the treeline, bouncing off of Hiroyo and landing flat on her butt. "I didn't even see that tree coming . . .
Oh! It's just you, Hiro. Thank goodness." She sighed as she dusted herself off. Even in the pure darkness, Hiroyo would be able to see Layla's face wrinkle in disgust when she felt the mud on her outfit. "Was starting to think I'd gotten completely lost. Although I guess that just makes us both completely lost, huh?
So, do you know, like, what any of this is? Because I've never seen the Server Woods like this before."
For Morgan, Gurren, and Lagaan's Eyes Only:
Against all odds, communication between the KoGears, Gurren, and Lagaan had been established. Whatever suffocating fog had swirled around the group, it was no match for the power of modern technology. However, it was certainly a match for the flare. What would be a radiant sunburst in any other situation, unfortunately, ended up being smothered into a soft, subtle glow. For those left within the fog, the flare would be impossible to discern by their strained, hampered vision.
For Morgan, it was a different story. When the Fanbeemon pushed through the treeline the fog was left rolling under him, sparing him the sensory deprivation that the others were being put through. The fog still smothered the sounds of those within it, and it still blocked the others from view the further they wandered, but Morgan had one bit of crucial information that the others didn't. As everyone's silhouettes started to fade, he could see that they were wandering in several different directions.
An eerie stillness and quiet settled, as everyone's wandering brought them further and further away from Morgan's position. At least, of course, until a distant flare shined through the fog, all too visible for the airbound Fanbeemon. Would he recognize the spark as an ally, or would he steer clear?
Regardless of Morgan's choice, the fog around Gurren and Lagaan started to part. The silhouettes of trees almost seemed to stretch through the fog, like the claws of a hundred-armed beast. Compared to the more ordinary treeline that the group had initially passed by, the trees here were far more imposing. Their roots seemed half-pulled from the ground, resting like the legs of a tarantula ready to pounce. Their boughs bent forward, as if eavesdropping in on whatever conversation the two gears may have been having with one another. There was a small clearing around the gears, giving them enough room to move around. Beyond that these gnarled, twisted trees stood densely packed.
There wasn't a digital life form to be found, and yet the feeling of being watched was unmistakable.
For Roger's Eyes Only:
When Apemon came bursting out of the fog, he had a few unwanted companions with him. The first was Tsukaimon, still clutched tightly in his fist. The poor thing seemed absolutely tuckered out, eyes half-lidded and weary as it took a few shallow breaths. The second, Roger, was a lot more willing to be here. He remained embedded in the Apemon like a literal thorn in his side, sparking and shocking all the way. By the time Apemon, Roger, and Tsukaimon hit the air again, a black spot visibly marred his golden fur.
The ape himself seemed utterly exhausted too. Maybe it was the repeated shock from Roger, or maybe it was from exerting himself by running through what felt like liquid concrete. Whatever the details, the Apemon fell onto his hands and knees, chest heaving heavily as he desperately tried to swallow down air.
Tsukaimon, seemingly unconcerned, wiggled right out of the Apemon's hands. She promptly trotted over to a nearby tree stump, wiggling to aim herself before leaping right onto the surface of the stump. She promptly settled down, her tiny body stretching cartoonishly as she yawned. "Are we done yet? I'm tired . . ." she asked, prodding what looked to be an axe that was buried in the stump.
Sure enough, this end of the forest was completely clear-cut. The only trees visible hung far in the distance, with the area around Roger instead a sea of stumps. In the distance a cabin was visible, smoke rising from what could only be a chimney on its roof. Occasionally the smoke seemed to twist into the shape of a Digimon: Flymon, Devidramon, Gorillamon, Dinohumon . ..
Besides this cabin, there didn't seem to be any signs of life in the area. The air was stagnant and still, and after how thick the fog was it almost seemed to be inadequately thin. Even Apemon had fallen still for the most part. However, if Roger paid attention, he might notice the Apemon clawing into the soil. Grass that once seemed green and healthy crumpled to ash within his grip: was the land that fragile, or was his grip that forceful?

Elonora It was weird it seemed that finally the fog was cleaning but at the same time there was no sight of any of her teammates if anything it looked like the small silhouettes were going further and further away, in the end her idea didn't seem to work and that was for lack of a better word "deppressing".
Now her only hope to meet again with some one else was on the KoHaguru, if they manage to get back to Gurren things will change for better, only problem was that even if the little gears knew where their original body was, they have troubles navigating on the fog even if it was clearing.
Unknowingly for the German girl something was following her and it didn't took long to make it's prescense felt saying something that at first she didn't get, the general did not lose time to turn around and face her stalker each gear in hand as a way to threat it (although the last thing she want is to activate the gears as that means losing her only way to reach Gurren), much to the surpruise of Leo the only thing she saw was a pair of eyes and that was enough to kick her bravado down...
"I.." She could only muttered as another pair of eyes appeared "How could I screw this up" they said, it was a creepy scene sure and she doesn't have her partners but the German girl wasn't going to run away from this. "I didn't screw up, this wasn't my fault! Brave words but there where just that, sadly Eleonora didn't believe them, thinking that if she didn't left the group when she did or she let Lagann attack instead of Gurren Tsukaimon would be free and they wouldn't be here, so many things she can blame herself for this predicament.
More and more pair of eyes appeared surrounding her and repeating the words she previously said, they grew closer and closer and weird cloth arms try to reach her, it didn't took long for those things to overwhelm Eleonora who fell to her knees, still holding the little gears as of now they where the only friend she had around and loinsg them here was going to break her.
"That's not true! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!!! She yell at the eyes, how bad does this speak from her? First real adventure/mission and she not only manages to lost herself but also fall in the trick of the enemies.
Much to her surprise a puprlbe backpack flew by and scare those things Layla to the rescue in the nick of time, saying that the German girl was happy it was an understatement, it was a relief to have another human near specially after they got separated.
"Layla! Thank goodness you're fine, I was really worried about you..." Leo sighed and smile, she could honestly hug Layla but that would be a little too much and besides everything that happens Leo will keep her tough girl act "Don't worry about me, I'm fine... How did you get here?
Gurren-Lagann and Morgan "Visibility less than 10% it is not advisable to keep moving, specially without our general
Agree, besides we gotta keep on a safe distant so your KoGears don't deactivate, they are General Schmidt only clue to find us now, I will throw the flare see if some one find us"
Both gears talk to each other, their logic told them to not move much to not lost themselves even more, while they're able to fight without their general taking the decisions these two usually expect favorable percentage for most of their actions, they won't take even the smallest risk and that affect their combat.
Lagann look up and charge energy inside of him after some minutes he open his mouth and shoot an energy blast that hopefully would not burn any trees and would be strong enough to be seen even with the fog.
Soon the fog started to clean and the gears were able to regain a little more visibility, they found themselves surrounded by weird trees, weird in the sense that they seemed like living creatures as the branches took form of claws and some roots sprouting from the ground look like feets of spiders, the twins knew about digimon that can disguise themselves as trees, Woodmon and Jyureimon come to mind, these didn't seem like digimon and the sense of danger was low.
"Visibility regain, no sign of allies nor the targets we were chasing
"No clear sign of where are we either, best course of action is to stay together back to back and wait for the KoHaguru to find us"
That said both gears got really close and float back to back, drills spining ready to attack if any danger arise from the werid trees or the trees themselves are the problem.
