A Walk in the Woods (Hiroyo, Tsukiko, Eleonora)

Eleonora God only knows what Eleonora was expecting hitting the wooden mask and a digimon, at least it prove her point of not being that weak and even without her partners she must be some one to be warn, her hand hurt but who cares she wasn't going to let this monkey have the final laugh, what she did not saw coming was the monkey answering the attack fortunately he stop very few inches from her stomach but if it hit that surely would've been enough to leave her on the ground grasping for air.
"Finish the job! Think I can't take it?" She taunted the digimon, which of course it's not her best idea but she's not thinking right now. "I don't know what your deal is, but we're not going anywhere until we find Tsukaimon and if you stand in our way..."
Before the Blonde could even finish her threat Layla darted towards the monkey and tackle it pinning it against the ground, Leo could feel the rage and frustration coming out of her voice and then silence... The mask of that thing fell off and the view wasn't really pleasant, it was just a black void with some data bits flying around, the monkey? Push Layla away easily and started looking for its mask, the German girl would help Layla to stand up and raising her index finger to her lip ask the girl to remain silent she has an idea.
The blonde saw where the mask fall and took the chance that Sepikmon was distracted talking and she went for it, Leo grabbed the mask and walked towards a near tree holding it firmly before slamming it on the tree, the sound would be enough to alert the monkey.
"Alright, now that I got your attention you better start answering or otherwise I'm going to keep slamming your precious mask against the tree until it breaks!" You keep threatening the digimon Leo surely this won't back fire. "What you and your friends want with Tsukaimon? Explain your bad Juju
Gears & Morgan The gears were glad that Morgan was a nice digimon that wouldn't want to get involve in unnecessary fights, and best of all polite! The two would never thought to address that figure that way, with the farewell said the trio turned just to see the path were they come from completely sealed off by the trees, sure they knew that had happen but they did not expect to be completely seal of on their backs by now, in the worst case scenario they thought that could move a little more before encountering the roadblock.
Somehow tho the Bagramon manage to cross through the wall of trees like if there weren't any, it was a shock and a surprise to the gears, it was kind of imposible unless he had some kind of skill that let him phase through solid matter, it somehow look like he wanted them to do the same but it wasn't possible.
"That's impossible" "Illogical!" "Nonsensical!"
There was no way that the gears could pass through the woods, yet they try and as they expected they just bump into the wall, it kinda felt like something was repelling them rather than being something solid stopping their movement and let's not start with the voice they're hearing now... Their minds are playthings? But they are machines, they don't have a "regular" mind, they are robots ruled by logic and numbers they shouldn't be able to be easily tricked, right?
"We demand explanations! "What is this forest? Where are our friends? who are you?"

For Tsukiko and Mitsuharu's Eyes Only: A very small grin appeared in Tsukiko’s face, as the Gorillamon confirmed all of her insights. Saying that she wasn’t happy that her deductions were actually going places would be lying. However, there was still a long way to go.
“Sepikmon…” Her blue eyes drifted towards the figure. “He’s the blind one.” She muttered. They did seem to be running out of the things this ape could tell them.
Right now, it was time for the pink-haired girl to deal with her friend. “No, no. I’m not saying she’s evil or anything like that.” She shook her head. “I just needed to know what could be the reason for this forest to hate her.” After clarifying this, she just listened to Layla’s short story, regarding how she found the little creature.
“You did tell me there was some rejection towards virus-type digimon in this world, didn’t you?” Tsukiko asked Mitsuharu. The samurai nodded, firmly. “Yes. There are definitely some digimon who loathe viruses.”
“I see… Ugh. We definitely could use Kissu-Grandma’s knowledge here.” The human Ashikaga turned towards Layla again. “Thank you for the info. Please, don’t think I don’t trust you or anything like that.” Would it be enough with just saying that? Tsukiko definitely hoped it was.
Immediately, the pink haired girl took her D-terminal out. “ Gorillamon… ” She browsed through all of the digimon’s information. “He's not a virus.” However, she did remember when she scanned Roger with her D-Terminal. “At least one of Hiroyo’s digimon is a virus, though” She pointed out. “This definitely makes the theory of the problem being that Tsukaimon is a virus a little weaker. If that’s the case, they’d have attacked Roger too.”
“Any other idea?” She asked the samurai. The warrior kept silent for a second, to then come up with something. “There’s also another characteristic of digimon, Sensei. It’s called the family or field. It’s definitely harder to know, since it varies from digimon to digimon, rather than their species. That could be an option.” Mitsuharu replied, still immobilizing the monkey. “No point on dwelling too much on that right now, then.” The tamer concluded.
Tsukiko turned towards the ape, who was now asking to be freed. “I’ve got two more questions for you.” She raised her index and middle finger, still talking through signs and moving her lips slowly. “Where is that Sepikmon you mentioned? Do you have any idea on how to reach him?” It should be obvious those were parts of the same first question. Maybe the best course of action was to go to the Sepikmon themselves and ask them their reasons.
“And second… Do you have any idea of where your friend, the Apemon, could have taken Tsukaimon?” There was a good chance he didn’t, but it couldn’t hurt to try. They needed a lead on where to go to now. Anything would do.
Once the Gorillamon had answered to these questions, Tsukiko would nod her head softly to the Dinohumon, who would deactivate the lava ring around them and stand up from the monkey’s back.
“Saying that my gut has never failed me before would be lying, but…” Tsukiko kept making signs with her hands. However, her eyes were now dodging the gorilla’s gaze. “I think you’re telling me the truth. You’re just doing what you need to do to survive and live peacefully, and I respect that. Am I a fan of your methods? Of course not.” She answered her own question. “But you’re just looking out for yourself, and I can’t say I wouldn’t do the same.”
“Sensei…” Mitsuharu muttered, looking at his tamer, rather speechless.
“Having said that…” Her blue eyes went back to the Gorillamon. “Me and my crew are trying to get that Tsukaimon back. That means you and I have different objectives, which makes us rivals.” With her index finger, she pointed at the monkey. “So get in my way again, and I may not have this much patience.”
As thoughtful as cold. That was the leader of the Ashikagas.

Roger "Yes your house moved! Forests don't just uproot themselves and change! I've been through these woods before and never encountered anything like this, clearly its your doing!" Roger snapped back. His antenna, no his entire body trembled with anger. This old-timer wasn't making any sense! This situation wasn't making any sense! "We didn't move from the stump and we would have noticed it it had moved on its own!"
The sight of Apemon huffing along far, far away drew forth a cackle from Roger's beak. His anger against the Babamon's vagueness cooled, right up until she asked him to justify his wanting the flowers. 'Dangerous? These little things?' He thought with a snort just before turning his beak on her. Only in metaphor, thankfully.
"Excuse me!" Roger said as he drew himself up . indignation not only colored his voice but his posture and the minute trembling he did as well. It was clear that he did not take kindly to the older 'mon's instance that he justify himself.
He had never taken being quested well but he would rattle on anyways. The situation was weird and he was nearly at the end of his patience for weird-ass bullshit.
"Oh man weird old lady who can't speak in anything but weird not-riddles! What have I done to deserve this? Does, I don't know, fighting the D-Reaper, scourge of the Digital world count? Sure I got my ass kicked but I sure did give it a good ol' try!" Roger snapped his beak shut to punctuate then continued on. Rather than the ranting letting him bleed away his anger it only seemed to feed it. "I've kept my brother and I alive for years after the disappearance of our tamer! Then some chick pops up holding the digivice and claiming to have been his friend and y'know what we do, old bag? We let her tag along! If that isn't generous I don't know what is!"
"Why don't you explain why you think you get to decide who keeps the flowers or not, hm? What makes you so special that you get to tell people 'nooo, you don't get to take the best smelling flower because I said so', hm?"
So much fuss over a simple flower. Morgan Mogan was with the gears' assessment of the situation. His eyes narrowed at the comments about mind games and shot a suspicious look at Bagramon. He waited well away from the trees (didn't want his wings ripped on those branches) as he watched the Gears attempt to go through. This was becoming stranger and stranger by the moment.
If what the goat headed Digimon said was true, then it was entirely possible that the knight was changing everything that was said and heard. Then again the knight hadn't been the one to blast Morgan with his absolute worst moments.
The bee shook his head to clear the thoughts that clung to his mind. He wanted to retreat somewhere quiet so he could thing, somewhere he could sit without thinking and give his mind time to organize. There was a lot of 'knowledge' that he and the gears had been given by beast and the knight.
Morgan wouldn't hold out hope that either of them could be trusted. Not when he watched the Gears bounce into the woods, not when the goat had blasted him. Everything was suspect but perhaps if he could reason his way through they would find a logical answer to this mess. Maybe something useful would come from the Gears' demands.
He tried to be subtle with his movements as he positioned himself near his fellows, giving them a small nod to let them know he would back them however necessary. He was still reeling from the earlier attack on his mind and didn't feel up to trusting his judgement at the moment. Hiroyo "I mean-! I guess, yeah, mess can be good too." Hiroyo started to protest then quickly changed her mind. She had a mischievous grin to match Layla's tone. "I mean, I guess I consider the bedhead and baggy t-shirt more 'relaxed' than messy? There's definitely something about making someone lose their cool, y'know?" She bit her lower lip, a faint blush on her face. This topic was getting a bit intimate wasn't it? Luckily a quick topic change was available with the changing of the terrain!
Oh, and Layla's classmates. Hiroyo could only shrug at that statement. Who knew how anyone would react to being thrown into the digital world?
Unlike Layla's half-hearted cheer the red head went all the way in - pumping both hands up into the air with a happy shout! Belatedly she realized she had pulled Layla's hand up with her and slowly let both their arms fall back to their natural position, a guilty expression on her face. "Sorry! I'm just glad we're not going to be slogging through the mud anymore. Walking should be a lot easier now which means finding everyone will be a lot easier!"
So they walked and Layla spoke of her bond with Tsukaimon. It sounded like...well like what Hiroyo would have liked to have had. It certainly seemed better than what she had with the twins.
Hiroyo snorted a laugh as Layla tried. She was almost about to the immediately dismiss the two out of hand but paused as she considered the relationship more carefully. She spoke slowly as she picked her words. "We started out pretty rough, I don't think any of us are each other's first picks if that makes sense? At first it seemed like we were tied by obligation more than anything else but it was getting better." She sighed and reached up to brush a wet strand of hair from her face. "We ran into something we couldn't handle recently and I think that's put us in a really rough patch again. It was pretty recent too, I'm not honestly sure if we'll bounce back or not."

For Eleonora and the KoGears's Eyes Only:
Sepikmon practically jumped out of his taut, wrinkled skin as the sound echoed through his ears. He looked around in a panic, boomerang flailing at a mile a minute as he tried to discern the source of the sound. Finally he found it, sitting face to face with Leo for the first time. From here she would truly be able to make up the sheer nothingness that made up Sepikmon's facial area, not even having a pair of eyespots to call its own. Nevertheless, panic was evident in the void, the data bubbling up beneath it taking on a frantic pace as it tried to approach Sepikmon. "You imbecile! You buffoon of a baboon!" he called out, desperately running towards Leo. "Don't you know what'll happen if that thing breaks? There'll be nothing left to hear the spirits of the forest with . . . and when nobody's around to hear them, hoo boy do they get angry!
If you know what's good for you, you'll give it right back! Or do you want us all to get torn to shreds by the Bakemon?"
"Oh, we'll be fine," Layla said, a light smile on her face. Normally it'd be quite cute, but the spark in her eyes made it almost terrifying. "After all, we have the mask, don't we? If the mask lets you talk to spirits, that means we're the ones who'll be fine. Maybe you just don't want your own Bakemon turned on you, hm?" She looked far more confident now that Leo had given them proper leverage.
"Ha! I'd love to see you try," Sepikmon retorted. "I don't know what your deals are, but you two don't sound like any mediums I've ever heard of. You might have the tools to give it a try, but when the spirits realize you're putting the 'sham' in 'shaman,' you're gonna be in for a rude awakening." Nevertheless, it was clear he was getting desperate. As he spoke he continued walking from one side of Leo to the next, trying to find a proper angle to lunge at her and grab his mask back. A few beads of data even started to roll down the sides of his head, as if he was starting to sweat.
Layla promptly stomped at a nearby tree, doing her best to keep the sound where Sepikmon would expect it to be. The sound of tree bark splintering caught the monkey's attention, and he promptly started shaking his head out of concern. "Alright, alright! I'll talk," he finally said. He stooped down, flicking his tail into the nearby grass and kicking up a small fire. After doing so he turned around and hurled a powder into the fire, translucent smoke rising from the flame. Through the smoke a vision started to play out, depicting a little Tsukaimon toddling along.
"This forest, if you two've gotten the hint by now, has got a mind of its own. Anything going on in these trees only goes on 'cause the forest wants it to. And when there's something the forest doesn't like? Then it's gotta go," Sepikmon explained. He pointed a boomerang in the general direction of where the vision of Tsukaimon was depicted. As it toddled, other Digimon appeared to the side, small auras of power appearing next to them. Apemon and Gorillamon, watching the Tsukaimon passed, had very small ones. A Dinobeemon that promptly appeared next to them, scaring them off, sprouted a larger one as it victoriously beat its chest. "The spirits of the forest keep tabs on all the Digimon here. They can see how dangerous a Digimon is, as well as how rotten of a core's directing that danger.
Your friend right here?" The vision of Tsukaimon paused, turning to face Layla and Leo. As it yawned a deep purple aura exploded around it, stretching out many feet away from Tsukaimon. "It reeks of danger so bad, the forest goes bananas trying to get rid of it! And until then, life around here gets turned right on its head. You try spending a day getting whipped by vines and skewered by brambles and tell me how you like it, hm?
And that mess ain't gonna stop until the cause of it all's long gone. So if you're asking what we want with the Tsukaimon, not a damn thing. Thrown out, pounded into dust, whatever it takes to get it as far away from us as possible, we'll take it!"
The fire smoldered down to nothing, and with it so did Sepikmon's speech. "If I had to guess, I'd say those stupid apes ran as deep into the forest as they could. Probably kept close to the center. Hell, with their sense of direction I bet you'd have a better shot of finding them if you just ran in a straight line. Now, if you two've got anything left in those heads of yours, you'd keep back and let them solve this little problem. But if you two just keep having this death wish of yours, hell if I'm gonna stop you," he explained. "Now, we had a deal. Mask." He held his hands out expectantly.
For Tsukiko and Mitsuharu's Eyes Only:
"Yes?" Gorillamon said, clearly confused. "Sepikmon blind. When you see him? Thought you chased us since you came here." The poor gorilla just did not have Tsukiko's deductive skills, did he? Unlike her, he didn't even notice that he was part of a Three Monkeys motif.
Layla, previously quite worried, perked up a little as she heard Mitsuharu's response. "Like Nightmare Soldiers?" she asked. "Tsukaimon always kept calling herself that when trying to act tough. It never really worked, because she just kinda looked adorable when puffed out like that. But whenever I tried to point that out, she just insisted that no, she really was. Is that one of those families?" It'd make sense. Barring Digimon of the Dark Area classification, Nightmare Soldiers seemed to be those most predisposed towards villainy, brutality, and the dark arts. If the forest could see into a Digimon's nature in such a fashion, it might make sense that it had reacted poorly.
The final questions were both rather difficult ones for Gorillamon: location. Considering that the forest seemed hell-bent on hiding and erasing everyone's progress when exploring it, the Gorillamon looked almost exasperated. "H-how would that work?" he asked, almost in despair. "With the fog, can't know! But . . .
Ran with Apemon. Straight line, same way. Fog moved us apart. Maybe keep straight, and he's there? Apemon . . . stubborn. Not much for turning." That was something, at least. "Sepikmon sticks to the dark. Helps him hear spirits better. Too bright, here." With that, Tsukiko had let Gorillamon go, the ape dashing away as soon as the wall of flame had gone down. He looked over his shoulder as he ran to follow the girl's speech, but frankly he seemed more concerned with his own survival than he did with taking her words to heart. With the rough day that the Gorillamon had been saddled with, it was hard to blame him.
Layla seemed much more concerned with Tsukiko's words, finding herself nodding in agreement. "You're right," she said. "I don't think any of the Digimon around here are bad. Even the ones that chased Tsukaimon and I on our last trips here are just doing what it takes to survive, right?" She smiled sadly, looking down at her feet a little. "I can see what my big brother means when he says it's a way different world from ours. Even if it can be really special, it's also really dangerous. Maybe that's why he worries when I get tangled up in Digital business, huh?
But I'm willing to brave that danger if it means saving my friend. And maybe if we're quick and quiet enough, we'll be able to help her without anyone here needing to get hurt, right?"
Her eyes shining with a renewed hope, Layla turned to survey the forest. "I think you came in from the south, right? So if we were going to keep following Apemon and Gorillamon's old path, we'd probably want to go north," she explained. "I know Sepikmon was the one who wanted Tsukaimon caught, but Apemon's the one that actually had her. And if he found Sepikmon then that just means both of them are on our path, right? So it'd probably be for the best if we kept following the way we went before. What do you think?"
For Hiroyo's Eyes Only:
Layla's cheeky grin only continued to spread as she saw the effect her words were having on Hiroyo. "Could say they're the same thing, couldn't you?" she asked. "God knows my friends would call me a mess if I tried leaving the house looking like that. And there's always some level of presentation a girl's gotta keep to when there's eyes on us. But . . . the part of the day when you can put all that aside, and not have to worry about it because it's just you and someone you trust. That just feels so good, doesn't it? And seeing someone else at peace like that's always a treat. Especially since it means you're part of that bubble." For someone who had just been teasing earlier, Layla sure seemed to be genuine in her observations. Maybe she just really did want to help Hiroyo relax, almost as if repayment for Hiroyo helping her with her own anxieties over Tsukaimon.
Then again, the way she turned to face Hiroyo, still hand in hand, probably didn't help with that. She almost coyly let the motion flow into Hiroyo's continued walking pace the bring the two a little closer. "Figured you'd agree," she said, her voice dropping the slightest bit more quietly. "Since it seems you've had some experience." Yep, Hiroyo's flustered face had definitely not escaped Layla's notice. Yet just as quickly as the girl turned towards Hiroyo, she turned away and took her place back at her side. It was a movement so brief that it almost seemed like two dance partners twirling towards each other, then right back apart. Were it not for the slightly tighter grip around Hiroyo's hand and the slightly reduced distance between them, it could've easily been dismissed as Layla just slowing down for a minute.
She giggled at Hiroyo's guilty apology for her enthusiasm. "There's a reason I brought these boots, you know," Layla said, turning her leg slightly so Hiroyo could get a view of her more heavy-duty footwear. Even covered in mud, there was still a bit . "Wish I knew Tsukaimon was planning on bringing others in. Then I could've at least warned you all about what to wear. But you've all been doing a good job with the journey so far, so maybe outfits are the least of our problems." Briefly, Layla had the idea of everyone coming onto the mission in full rain gear. How could an image like that not make her smile?
Maybe because it was paired with some rather crushing news. It was one thing to have a bad adventure in the Digital World. It was a completely different thing to have that shake your faith in your team for good. Layla sighed sorrowfully at the news, then pulled Hiroyo in for a warm hug. "Hey, come on. It's okay," she said, voice quieted to an almost soothing level. "Tsukaimon and I have been trying to find these flowers for weeks now, right? We couldn't handle it ourselves. Instead, we needed to call you guys in. And even then, this might be the most dangerous day she and I have ever been through. But we're still here, right? Even if she and I are apart, I know we're both giving it our all. I know this hurts for you. I can't imagine how much it does, but I know it has to. But you have each other, even when you think you don't. And even then, I can promise you, you're not alone."
Suddenly, Layla's grip on Hiroyo turned rigid. "We're not alone," she repeated, this time her voice much more urgent.
The ground shook as heavy footfalls hit the earth, and a droning buzz started to vibrate through the air. A shadow stretched past where the two girls were standing, looking almost like a bee with massive, hulking forearms. The shadow's position slowly started to change from a neutral stance to one of piqued aggression. Layla promptly broke the hug and took Hiroyo's hand again, running for the treeline as fast as she can. "Unless your Digimon can turn into a Dinobeemon and you didn't tell me, we need to run! Now!"
For Morgan, Gurren, and Lagaan's Eyes Only:
Fortunately, if the gears kept at it, they would indeed be able to pass through the wall of dead trees. It would be an agonizingly slow process, as if one was trying to squeeze the last few drops of honey from a bottle. Nevertheless, with each passing second they would travel more through the veil, until finally either giving up or being pushed through to the other side. If they persisted, they would find themselves landing right next to Bagramon, who was standing in a far less desiccated forest. The dead trees that surrounded them previously would be gone, replaced with the same placid stretch of land that they had initially entered from. It was almost as if they hadn't moved previously, or if they had did not take as drastic of a turn as it first seemed.
Whether they did pass or not, Bagramon's voice would echo through the trees. "This forest is nothing," he said, his voice as bitter as a snake's venom. "There is nothing special or extraordinary about this place. It simply is, just like the rest of the Digital World. No. It is the actions of one within the forest that trouble you. One who seeds illusions and trickery to lead others astray, leaving them trapped in their minds as they wander these woods. I am but a hermit who is living out the rest of his days here, but in my time I have grown wise to these tricks. As for your friends . . .
Do you not find it strange that you are all Digimon?"
Bagramon's sentence sounded absolutely nonsensical. However, when considering the fact that Gurren-Lagaan and Morgan were both partnered too humans, the weight of such a question was all too apparent. Far from the random act of nature that the fog had seemed to be, Bagramon's suggestion seemed more pointed, almost to the point of malice. And it didn't bode well for Hiroyo or Eleonora.
After such a bitter question, the Bagramon simply sighed. "If you and your friends know what is best for you, you should leave," he said. "If I cannot do anything else, I can at least make sure others are not sucked into these games they play here. Yet if you do not heed my advice and leave, I cannot promise you will be safe."
Any still within the ring of dead trees would find Mephistomon gliding towards them. He had risen from his seated position, now standing stock-still with both hands spread at his sides. He did not walk or fly but instead floated, the ring of dead trees seeming to shrink with each "step" he had taken forward. "He speaks truths couched in lies, and lies couched in truths," the goat explained. He did not move his mouth, but his words were clearer than any actual speech. "All so he may continue to run, just as you have. Yet, what use is there to run in an ever-shifting world? Perhaps it may be best to lie down, and let the forest takes you where it pleases.
After all, it is not as if you were in control to begin with."
For Roger's Eyes Only:
Babamon shook her head sadly. "I understand, dearie. I know this must be such a bother," she said. "But this forest isn't one for the weak of mind or faint of heart. All those rules most places follow just don't apply here. The forest, and those who give it life, do what they want, when they want, how they want. You can go places without moving at all, and you can move for days on end without having gone anywhere. Much like the ape over there."
She sat down, folding her hands as she listened to Roger speak. It seemed that he was one who had lost before, and since then had only kept losing. Nevertheless, he put himself in harm's way for the safety of the Digital World, and even tried to preserve a family he never wanted or asked for despite such loss being fresh on his mind. The Babamon gave him a gentle pat on the head, which would immediately send waves of soothing feelings right into his head. While he could try and resist these feelings to preserve his righteous indignation, the impulses were of worrisome power. Even for a Mega's standards, it would be a massive shock to his little, angry system.
Her smile softened ever so slightly as she stooped down to the worm. "I suppose it's only fair I do so, mm?" she asked, amusement twinkling in the eyes behind her bangs. "After all, you were so generous with your story.
Back in my prime, I was a Digimon of far, far greater power than what you see today. Yet, I had but the tiniest bit of the responsibility I hold today. I used to walk the land, treating all the Digimon I met as mere playthings. I'd help them if it amused me. I'd hurt them if it amused me. I'd toy with their minds just because I was bored. It was a tremendous, almost frightening power, yet I was addicted. With but a snap of my fingers, I could leave them seeing, feeling, or believing anything I wanted them too. Wherever I went, the world around me was changed, all the little changes I made building up. Mayors acted like they were dogs. Birds lived in the seas, and fish tried to hop among the clouds. And oh, all the matchmaking I did, driving those who particularly amused me to fall deeply in love with each other.
The hopes and desires of those I met were mere toys to me. Maybe that was why they called me Lust, all those years ago.
To some, what I brought about were a blessing. To some, they were a torment. But no matter what, the chaos I brought was too much to allow to continue. Many Digimon came to stop me, fighting for their homes, their loved ones, even their own lives. All who did failed, but with each failure came countless more. Perhaps, in a way, I had brought about my own downfall. After all, what stronger desire is there than the desire to keep those important to you safe? What stronger passion is there than the passion of a wounded warrior or avenging hero, knowing they will fall but willing to step forward regardless?
It was under the death of a thousand cuts that I finally succumbed. With no rest from the battlefield, even the mightiest Digimon eventually reaches a point that they just can't take. Oh, how I remember the look on the face of the last Digimon to encounter me . . . I knew there was nothing I could do against him, for his only remaining desire was my death.
When I had emerged from my egg anew, I immediately knew something was different. The power that was with me once had faded. In despair, I threw myself to the beasts of the forest, hoping it would be back upon my next incarnation. Yet, again and again, it failed to manifest. It had been a freak incident, one that could be used for such purpose, and I squandered it for mere games and torments. To say it is a decision that I regret cannot be overstated.
These flowers, one could say, are almost a remnant of a life that once was. They shape themselves to the perception of those that find them, giving them an almost limitless potential. Only the one sowing the seed knows what could possibly sprout out from the ground, and even they will never know for sure. And that is not a privilege I wish to give out so foolishly. I will not see others make the same mistakes as I, even on such a small scale.
Now tell me. What do you wish to do with such a plant, that you'd come all this way to find it?"

Eleonora A big grin was drawn on the German girl's face when she saw the big upper hand they have now that the mask is in their power, the Sepikmon will do anything they want and while the void of his face creeps her out, it's something she has to deal with for now if she wants the answers.
The monkey make a small fire and sprinkle it with a weird dust a smoke was lifted that was translucent and able to show images, Eleonora listen to the words of Sepikmon and being completely honest if someone told her this way before knowing about the digital world she wouldn't buy it but now? That's different she slowly is learning how the digital world can be twisted and that nothing is always what it looks like, but was this digimon speaking the truth or making this up as a quick way to get his mask?
No, it's way too specific to be made up maybe there was something wrong with Tsukaimon after all, granted she doesn't know much about digimon yet but she does know that their appereance can be deceiving, is it the moment to start doubting about Layla's partner? Probably not and sure it's not good to doubt your client but something feels wrong now that she starts thinking about it.
"For how long have you know Tsukaimon? Did she acted weird or you notice something that wasn't part of her usual self? She asked Layla, the German girl close her eyes and rubbed her chin "Let's say this chimp is right, that would explain why you two ran into so many troubles that requested our assistance, for some reason the forest and it's inhabitants doesn't like your friend I need you to remember if something about her call your attention" She then turned to Sepikmon, walking slowly to give his mask back. "I'm a girl of my word, I can se you mean no evil and I'm sorry for the way I treat you just recently, before anything I would love to know if you can help us find at least one of my friends or protect us from the Bakemon until we find them, I ask you this with all the respect you deserve
Eleonora made a small bow after giving the mask to Sepikmon, probably Layla will be mad at her for giving the only advantage they had over the monkey and of course now that he has his mask he can just leave both girls in the middle of nowhere to be consumed by ghost and he had enough reasons to do it, but Eleonora hoped that her sincere words reach the cranky monkey and help them just a little.
Gears + Morgan Going against all logic and reason something make the twins keep pushing forward until finally the "trees" blocking their way gave up and let them pass through, astonished a little by this the gears turned back to see that the wall wasn't really there anymore they saw Morgan who probably was puzzled by this.
"He is right, our eyes and minds are deceiving us" "Close your eyes and let your mind go blank, forget that there is a wall in front of you, should be easy to cross"
With that said they waited for Morgan to come from the other side and then kept listening to the Bagramon, his words speaked as if some one else is playing with them, not the forest itself as they thought but some one inside twisting their minds to see and feel what it's not there, the big knight digimon introduce himself as a hermit that wanders the forest almost inmune to this effects, the question he made tho froze the gears in place almost as if someone just stab them right into their cores.
"Are you implying that whatever is playing tricks with out minds want us split from our partners? "Both of us are here, Roger went with the Apemon and you Morgan are here with us, meaning that both our humans are all alone "Whatever is playing games with us surely is doing the same to them "As much as we do not like to follow blindly we feel that the best chance we have to reach them it's by following this digimon "And we know it might be dificult due to what we just said and the danger our friends can be in, but try to remain calm" "This forest will put obstacles in our way if we let it get to our fears and worries
The twins then noted flying above them speaking cryptic words that sounded like riddles and contradictory sentence, asking them why keep moving on a world that changes and forces them to stay away, wouldn't be easy to just lay down?
"Trully it would be easy" "But that implies giving up "And as long as our general is in danger we are not giving up "We will reach the end of the digital world if necesary
Both gear proclaim glaring at the goat digimon, then looked at Bagramon once again asking to help them to find their partners

Morgan & The Gears The disappearance of the gears was for a short moment the worst kind of stressful. Then their voices called reassurances and instructions and Morgan felt his shoulders untensing. He hadn't realized how anxious he had been watching them attempt to walk through what had been an impassable barrier previously.
He hesitated to go through immediately and still listened to what was being said. It was certainly quite a story that Bagramon was telling them. Morgan found it full of holes though, if Bagramon was truly stuck then why could he help others but not himself? He mulled over what was said, stalling his attempt to step through the barrier and knowing it but finding himself curiously loathe to attempt such a thing. Clearing his mind would take some time.
His silence continued until the fact of separation was made. Morgan ground his beak in annoyance. There was a high degree of possible truth to the thought that the separation was planned and that worried him. Deliberate sabotage in a way that spoke of knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of a partnered digimon's reliance on their human and the digivice was enough to send icy chills down his back.
Mephistomon began to speak again and Morgan's expression switched to an extremely hostile glare. It was pretty clear that after the mental thrashing he'd taken at the goat's hand earlier he wasn't inclined to trust anything it had to say. He would give it a chance to speak if only to turn its words back on it.
"You say he is lying but he speaks more clearly than you! You talk in riddles and dance around your meaning! Why would we trust the words of one who speaks so crooked?" He demanded. More of his frustration had poured into his words than he had originally intended. He didn't intend to stick around to listen - Mephistomon speaking up had been enough to remind Morgan that if he didn't leave he'd be stuck with the goat for company.
No one wanted to be stuck with the goat.
With a deep breath he closed his eyes and did as Gurren and Lagaan instructed. A gentle breeze on his back pushed him forward and he took it as encouragement. HIs wings were flattened as far as they could be to his body as he made the attempt. Upon arriving on the other side he would look around then shake himself as if shedding the last remnants of Mephistomon's earlier attack against him.
"If they want us away from our humans then right by their sides is where I want to be." He said firmly. He looked first at Bargamon and then to the complete set of Twins and gave them a little nod. "Let's find them." Roger Roger's weakness went further than just being a Child against someone more experienced. He was half what he normally was, and that other half was wandering the woods split in two. One with the Fanbeemon he called brother. The other slept in a little plastic tomb carried by Hiroyo.
He couldn't fight it. His anger and resentment and frustration were not washed away completely but met with a reminder. A memory of a hug and encouragement after a fight that didn't go his way, a time when he was helped. Encouraging words, patience, understanding. All of it delivered in a voice as faded as the smell Roger would have expected to drift from the flower for him and Morgan, their memories too old, too worn to show through clearly.
It was comfort he had been craving. The feeling that everything was going to be okay again at the end of the day. The lightning bolts on his face contracted into thin lines.
He bowed his head for a moment then lifted it when she began to speak again. He was quiet, uncharacteristically so as she shared her tale. There was a moment when he audibly gasped: loud and surprised and shot straight up. It was a natural reaction to finding out your conversation partner was once one of the Great Seven.
"You..!" He trailed off as she continued although a little of the soothing feeling had faded. He listened to her highs and lows, the triumphs and the feeling of power. He had felt an echo of something like that once, long ago. Roger could sympathise with the grief that would come with the loss of such power. Where once the world had been sure it no longer was.
The news of what the flowers were and did surprised him admittedly, she'd been hinting at it all along but since he had not experienced the flower for himself he had been at a loss. As far as he had been able to tell before it had merely smelled differently to other people.
"We were contracted to find it." He said slowly. His antenna twitched atop his head as if he were nervous, or maybe he was just realizing something for the first time. "Someone found one and they wanted another, to give to their brother. I don't know if she knew what she had." He glanced to Tsukaimon with a little wave of his tail. Would the potato speak up to provide a character witness the someone in question? "But she seemed boring-honest to me?" Hiroyo 'Oh no.' Layla was in her face, too close for her to not see the blush on Hiroyo's face and suddenly the red head knew that was exactly why she was there. She had seen the look, had spotted what Hiroyo had tried to hide.
"Its-No!" Hiroyo sputtered, waving her free hand around wildly. She sighed heavily and hung her head as Layla stepped back but there was a grin on her face. "Fine, fine you caught me."
Was it just Hiroyo's imagination or was Layla standing closer than she had before? Wait, scratch that, this was the person who had just gotten right up in Hiroyo's bubble. She definitely was, and it was too deliberate to not be on purpose.
Discretion could be the better part of valor sometimes so Hiroyo decided not to comment.
She couldn't help the slump of her shoulders as she spoke about the twins. Couldn't help the way her head hung low, again, with the weight of it. Maybe there was some truth to the thought that she wasn't meant for this. Her moping was swiftly cut off by physical contact. She hesitated, her free hand out to the side and hovering in the air as Layla talked. Her face went from startled to something softer, a sad kind of gratitude that her pain had been acknowledged and remarked upon.
"Thank you." She whispered. She moved to put her arm around Layla's back then paused as she went stiff against her. This close she could easily feel the movement, and hear the urgency in Layla's voice. Hiroyo froze as well, listening. Heavy footsteps coming closer, probably Adult or higher. Her hand instinctively went to her digivice then dropped away from it as Layla took her hand and they began to run from the clearing.
There would be no relying on her bugs for protection this time.
Briefly she considered running a different way, attempting to divide the threat's attention then swiftly dismissed the idea. If she didn't succeed that would put an unknown digimon between her and the person she was attempting to protect. A bad outcome even she could guess.
"We need to break its line of sight! Aim for the thickest clumps of trees!" She whisper-said, each word between a gasp for air. She ran with her head twisted toward Layla and leaned back so she could keep the Dinobeemon's head in her vision. She couldn't quite lead them on a weaving path between the trees this way, but maybe Layla would have enough mind to guide them properly. She need a moment to plan.

For Tsukiko and Mitsuharu's Eyes Only: The Gorillamon was now long gone. Would they see him again? It couldn’t be ruled out. However, Tsukiko’s head was now on what Layla had mentioned. Her eyes had now acquired a certain glimmer, from the possibility of actually getting an answer regarding the enemies' motives. She turned at Mitsuharu, who reassured what the shorter-haired girl was saying. “That’s one of these families, yes.” Could that be it? It was good to feel they were starting to close in on the reason behind these monkey’s acting.
“So Tsukaimon is, in fact, a Nightmare Soldier. That could definitely be the reason why this forest wants to get rid of her.” If that was the case, the mystery was solved. However, no way of proving this just yet. It was true their reasons were not the most important element of this whole situation, but only a mere addition.
It was good to know Layla also understood Tsukiko’s position in all of this (considering the Gorillamon hadn’t paid much attention to her speech). “It’s a marvelous place, but I definitely would be worried too if my little sister was coming by herself to a world like this.” Even if Tsukiko herself didn’t have any sibling, she could begin to imagine how an older brother would feel.
“Right.” Was no one getting hurt a real possibility here? Hopefully, but the layout didn’t seem much encouraging towards this point of view. “Let’s try our best to avoid harming these digimon, and let’s get your best friend back.” The girl then gave a reassuring smile to her friend. They were together, after all, so this couldn’t be that bad, right? Besides, maybe the rest of the squad had managed to get some good results too from their sides. Tsukiko was sure they weren’t just laying around.
“I don’t know if, now that the fog is not as thick as it was before, we will end up on the same place Apemon might have ended up by going the same path.” Mitsuharu mused about their possibilities on finding Tsukaimon through this method, but it was true they didn’t have much of a choice. “Considering we really don’t have any other lead; I suppose it’s still the path we should take. I’m sure we’ll find something interesting.” Tsukiko added. “Whether it's a companion or any of the apes we’re looking for."
“Let’s go, then!” Tsukiko pointed her finger at the north, following Layla’s indication. “It’s a good thing I’m with you since I’m really not good with directions or positioning myself in space.” She let go a chuckle, while they started moving. “Gorillamon said the forest changed and it was never the same. I just wonder with what frequency it does these changes.” In any case, Tsukiko kept in her head everything the Gorillamon had mentioned. Some of that should be useful.

For Eleonora and the KoGears's Eyes Only:
Layla stood up a little bit straighter, eyes shut as she tried to think. "I wish I knew," she said. "If there's anything I learned about Digimon, it's that they have a lot of secrets hidden. Even the smallest, cutest Digimon can do some surprising things. And even if they're nothing too special themselves, their Digivolutions can be even more shocking. Maybe if Sepikmon can see a Digimon's 'bad juju,' it's that kind of thing?"
"You think if I could tell you for sure, I'd even be in this mess?" the Sepikmon asked, his grumpiness lightening by the slightest margin. He let out an audible sigh of relief as the mask slid back onto his face. His shoulders settled and his back straightened, the aggression in his tensed-up stance melting away. "I'm a medium, not a psychic! The most I get's a chill down my spine, and you can bet your ass it's been like I've had ice down my back all day."
"Well, if you think it is some kind of hidden power, don't you think Tsukaimon would've used it to get away from Apemon?" she asked. "My brother always told me that when a Digimon's in crisis, it'd be way more likely to Digivolve in the heat of the moment. I'm sure if Tsukaimon was really so bad, she could've done that."
"Yeah, yeah. Or she could be taking you all for a ride," the Sepikmon said. Layla's hands clenched to a white-knuckled grip, but she bit down quite visibly on her tongue to avoid saying anything. "Why fight a bunch of apes when you can get other people to do it for you? Hell, if I could trust those two bozos to do their jobs, I wouldn't have even shown up! I'd be napping in a tree without a care in the whole dang world-"
"I'd prefer you just answer Leo's question now," Layla interjected, her voice cold and dangerous.
"Right." Sepikmon coughed, squatting down and putting his boomerang to the floor. The air hung cold and clammy around him, and a small aura of power started to flicker around his body. Then it all promptly dispersed as he looked to the treeline, shouting "Ah, get out of here, ya slackers! We're calling off the plan!" Several disappointed sighs were heard as Bakemon floated away from the trees, the ground, and the underbrush. How many did Sepikmon have lying in ambush?
Once they cleared out, he turned and pointed over his shoulder. "Way's clear. Now get on outta here before I change my mind," he said. He threw another orb of smoke and sparks around his feet, and then he was gone.
Layla took the lead and started to walk forward, keeping her eyes to the floor "We're safe, for now at least," she said. "Thanks again for the help back there. I . . . I wish I could say that Sepikmon was wrong, but with how little I know about Tsukaimon myself . . ." Perhaps she didn't want to finish her thought, or perhaps she was distracted by the fact that the ground was starting to slope upwards. Slowly she trailed it upwards, eyes widening as she noticed that they were right by a hill. And on top of that hill was a house, rings of smoke wafting up from it.
She let out a cheer of relief, speeding forward as fast as she can. "This was where we found them!" she said. "The flowers! If we have these, then we can just grab Tsukaimon and run. This is perfect!" Unfortunately, in her excitement she didn't notice the small peals of fog that were starting to form around her ankles. They almost seemed to draw her in as she ran towards the house, becoming thicker and thicker with each step she took. Was history threatening to repeat itself?
Yet, this time there was an actual vantage point for Leo and Layla to focus on. Maybe that would make things different.
For Tsukiko and Mitsuharu's Eyes Only:
Layla smiled sadly. "I think we'd all worry about the people we care about being here," she said. "My big brother's a tamer in his own right, and even I get worried sick about him every now and again. Maybe that's part of why I'm always tagging along here. So at least I can see for myself that he's doing alright, you know?" She tried to bring a bit more cheer to her sorrowful smile, but worry still shined in her eyes. "Heh . . . you could say I'm just as worried about Tsukaimon right now, too. But it wouldn't help anyone if I just fall apart on her. So . . . catch me if I'm starting to seem a little hopeless, okay?" It was a lot of trust to put into another's hands, but clearly Tsukiko had earned it.
She also learned the right to laugh, considering that she had just praised Layla's sense of direction. The worry in her eyes melted away as she tried not to double over, shaking the laughter out of her head. "Me? Sense of direction?" she asked. "Come on, you're talking to the girl who's on, what, her tenth try at finding these flowers? The one who's only not lost right now because she stumbled in the right direction? If you're gonna compliment me, you could at least give me a good one." Nevertheless, judging by the teasing nudge she gave Tsukiko, it was clear she was more amused than genuinely denying the compliment.
"Well, if we are trusting my sense of direction, then follow me," she said. "Maybe all the wrong turns I took will come in handy here, eh?"
As they continued to go north, Layla started to notice that the treeline was thinning out. "Huh. Too soon for this to be the end of the forest," she said. "I know we've been walking for a while now, but not this much of a while. Unless . . ." Her pace quickened as she felt her way around the trees, looking for larger gaps to focus her attention on. "The trees were really thin where I found the flowers. If I can just grab them here, we can focus all our attention on looking for Tsukaimon. Heck, if we're lucky, she might have even beat us here. Come on, Tsuki, lets go!"
Excitement shined in her eyes as she made her way to the thinnest spots of the treeline, which parted enough to reveal the telltale curve of a hill. Atop this hill was a small house, rings of smoke drifting away from it every minute or so. Layla's already quick pace only got faster as she saw the house, so much so that she didn't even notice the wisps of fog starting to rise from behind her. They trailed behind her like dust kicked in her wake, getting more and more numerous the faster she moved. It was almost as if the house was beckoning her forward, trying to ensnare her in its clutches. Would this be another attempt at fracturing the group?
If it was, at least there was a flaw in the forest's plan. The house on the hill served almost as a lighthouse, remaining high enough above the swirling mists to escape being covered up. With a marker like this in sight, and the helpful warnings of Gorillamon in mind, was the fog capable of causing as much trouble as it had before?
For Hiroyo's Eyes Only:
"Yeah, trees sound really good right about now," Layla wailed, clearly panicked by the bug's approach. She held onto Hiroyo's hand like her life depended on it, mainly because in this case both of theirs did. "I've seen it up close. It's the size of a double decker bus. So the more cover we have, the more chances we have of shaking it." Layla seemed to catch onto what Hiroyo was saying, and promptly started weaving their way into the treeline. It was almost a mirror of their previous spiral pattern, this time not spiraling outwards but instead inwards. The further they ran, the thicker and darker the tree cover was. Normally that'd be a pretty awful decision, but in this situation it was exactly what they needed.
Once they were close to the center of their little path, Layla turned Hiroyo around and pressed her against the closest available tree. She promptly spread her arms to each side of the tree, letting her jacket hang loose on her body. When held out like this, it covered the two like a drape. "Now just keep very still, and very, very quiet," she whispered, which may not have been the easiest thing with how flustered Hiroyo was earlier. It certainly wasn't easy as nearby trees started to creak and groan, bending from the sheer force of their unseen foe. Dinobeemon's thick, sausage-like fingers were practically the size of bicycles, and more than capable of snapping a tree if it felt so inclined. "If we don't move, it might just think we're a tree trunk. And then we can tiptoe away when it looks elsewhere. Okay?"
The Dinobeemon's shadow loomed over the duo as its head poked through the treeline. Steam puffed out from its nostrils, each breath in tune with its hefty footsteps. For a second a hand groped worryingly close to Hiroyo's head, each crack of Dinobeemon's palms against the tree's trunk deafening for the poor girl. Nevertheless, Layla kept quiet and firm, the look in her eyes practically pleading for Hiroyo to do the same. Her heart had practically stopped, but she was still doing her best to keep strong for Hiroyo.
If there was any small comfort, it was that the treeline seemed to thin out from this point. In fact, if Hiroyo could bring herself to look up, she would notice rings of smoke drifting up into the air past their current location. Most importantly of all, however, was the fact that her Digivice was starting to feel a little bit . . . different. To a non-Tamer, the difference would be imperceptible. It wasn't that the Digivice any warmer, or larger, or heavier. However, there was a certain closeness that it seemed to radiate, as if Hiroyo wasn't alone in the world.
The feeling stretched outwards, almost as if yearning to head towards the direction of the smoke. Maybe, just maybe, it would be a rare good omen in such a twisted forest maze. Would Hiroyo deem it one worth pursuing?
For Morgan, Gurren, and Lagaan's Eyes Only:
Slowly, Mephistomon started to fade from view. It was as if the illusionary treeline he dwelled within was consuming him, bit by bit. "I?" he asked, tilting his head as it faded behind the branches. "I am one incapable of such petty matters. All the words of man and beast alike are mine to command, but not a single lie among them. You will all come to understand this, in time. Just as you will all come to understand the forces that lurk behind the veil, witnessing your each and every move. The cowardly wretch you entrust with your lives knows this well. Notice how he lifts what he must, but leaves the rest intact. Learn from his example, lest you find yourselves unable to handle what you may perceive."
The ring of dead trees finished collapsing inwards, each gnarled trunk coiling around another until they formed a withered, decayed beanstalk. As quickly as it twisted it unfurled, falling to the ground in thin, brown strands. After this display, Mephistomon was gone.
Bagramon had remained utterly silent through the entire spiel, not even looking towards Morgan and the gears. He only allowed himself a small smile at Gurren and Lagaan's determination. "Good," he said. "To give up is to let a part of yourselves die. Perhaps in this case, with the danger your tamers may be in, I mean that literally. Come, let us find them." Gnarled sprouts spread from the knuckles of his ashen hand, each gently resting against one of the three smaller Digimon. It was as if he was guiding the younger ones by the hand, despite his own being unsuited for the purpose.
Slowly he walked through the woods, occasionally looking over his shoulder to check on his charges. Larger Digimon lurked in the shadows; Kuwagamon with gnashing jaws, Drimogemon whose beady eyes watched from beneath the ground, and the eerie red slits of Veggiemon blending in with the local plant life. However, all shied away from Bagramon, who didn't even care to acknowledge their presence. So far, Gurren, Lagaan, and Morgan seemed to be in safe hands.
It was only when Bagramon approached a wall of fog that he stopped in his tracks. He peered through the fog, forehead wrinkling with concern for each second he stared. Finally he turned away, sighing deeply. Bags were clearly visible under his eyes, and his shoulders tensed u[ enough to carry the weight of a mountain. "This is as far as I can go," he said. "Ahead is the dwelling of one I promised to never again cross paths with. I would do well to honor such a promise. But you . . . you have a promise to those you hold dear to keep, and I will not ask you to break such a promise. I will only advise you to keep cautious for what lies ahead."
Bagramon's ashen hand tensed, and a snap of his fingers launched a shockwave through the fog. Slowly but surely it rolled aside, finally parting to leave a small alleyway for Morgan, Gurren, and Lagaan to pass through. "I wish you luck," Bagramon said, slowly walking away from the path he had just carved. It was a fairly ordinary path, winding ever so slightly as it lead up towards a house on a hill. A Babamon stood at the door of this ramshackle house, looking up at a pair of figures it would be impossible for any of the assembled party to mistake:
Roger stood right by the Babamon, and hovering a few feet away from him was Tsukaimon. As she spotted the group, she fluttered up to wave with both paws. There was no sign of any of her pursuers, and she seemed especially excited to see them! Had the group's trial finally come to an end?
For Roger's Eyes Only:
Tsukaimon shook her head vigorously. "How would Lay even know that?" she asked. "We didn't have a scary old lady to explain it to us. We just kinda . . . picked one. And then we ran from a bee. All we know is it smells nice."
Babamon looked hard at Tsukaimon, but the innocent look on her face never faltered. Even when Babamon clapped in front of her face, her expression never changed. "Either this one's not very bright, a master of deceit, or truly an innocent," she mused. "And you have all been trustworthy so far. I suppose I can let you take from my supply." She rested against her broom, her grin widening like a cat watching a captive field mouse. "I'm sure you'd all regret trying something, anyway. I may've lost my power, but what I've got left is more than enough to give you a thrashing."
She almost looked hopeful that they'd give it a shot.
With her blessing, Tsukaimon eagerly flew towards the flower field. A shame that it wouldn't be so easy. By the time she turned around, Apemon had finally staggered his way up the hill. He was supporting himself by his knuckles like a common gorilla at this point, his bone long abandoned at the foot of the hill. Babamon cocked an eyebrow in interest, watching as Apemon forced himself to look up at Tsukaimon. "So he finally realizes," she said, leaning the slightest bit further in interest. "But, does he realize enough? The forest's done quite the number on him, it seems."
The Apemon took a few shaky steps forward, then lifted a gnarled paw up at Tsukaimon. He was pointing at her, but turned instead towards Roger. Through all of this he remained silent, but there was a strange look in his eyes. Was it anger? Was it hatred? No, it didn't have the passion behind it for either of those. Instead, it far more resembled . . . fear?
Tsukaimon gently perched on the Apemon's outstretched finger, blowing another raspberry at him. Then she stretched forward, her mouth growing to several times her body's size as she bit Apemon clean in half.
There was no blood. And after that first ear-splitting crunch there was no sound, either. She simply snapped back into her small, bean-like shape, the Apemon's remains dissolving into data beneath her. She hopped off of his dissolving finger, fluttering into the air with the utmost casualness. Stranger still, Tsukaimon didn't seem to absorb the resulting mass of data, instead watching it with an amazed smile on her face as it caught on the wind and drifted away.
She turned to Roger, cheeks puffed out in frustration. "Roger, you burned it way too much!" she whined. "Now it tastes all gross. But it's gone now, so you guys are all gonna be safe, right? Oh! Oh! And now Lay doesn't gotta worry about getting hurt, too! This is great!
Let's go get our flowers now, kay?"

For Tsukiko and Mitsuharu's Eyes Only: Only giving her friend a reassuring nod, Tsukiko decided to remain silent regarding the rest of her statement. Layla was trusting on Tsukiko to be there for her, and she couldn’t let her down. She wasn’t going to let her down. Mitsuharu, staring at the scene develop, clenched one of his fists, thinking about Tsukaimon's. What could the little digimon be doing right now?
“Well, I am sure yours is better than mine! I had no idea where had we come from or where the north was supposed to be!” Tsukiko replied with some more chuckling to her friend’s comments.
It wouldn’t take that much for the duo to actually find something strange inside the route they were following. Layla seemed to be excited about the possibility of finding the flower and ending that part of the quest once and for all. However, they had gotten to a sort of clear, that let them see a small hill with a house on top. The rings of smoke drifting from the house every now and then, made the Ashikagas think there could be someone living there.
But… Layla was just too accelerated regarding everything! She was already running towards this new house, without considering anything else!
Maybe the hasty move wouldn’t be so intrinsically dangerous weren’t for the fact that there was fog raising behind Layla, which was threatening with separating her from the duo too. Tsukiko, who was still at the end of the treeline, alongside Mitsuharu, looked at the layout of the situation with her eyes wide open.
“Layla! Wait! There’s fog around you!” She yelled. Could it be the fog had already become that thick she wouldn’t be able to hear her? Hopefully not. The fog would probably be around Tsukiko very soon too, and it was probably going to try to separate the group once again. Mitsuharu clenched his teeth, taking a fighting stance and trying to think on what to do. “Sensei… What are we going to do!?” The Dinohumon knew they couldn’t just stand there, but…
Tsukiko’s eyes were going everywhere, trying to look for a possibility. Her blue pupils finally went to this small house atop the hill, that seemed untouched by the fog. The Gorillamon’s words echoed inside the human’s head.
“Everything something else, once”
“…Forest never same twice. Fog comes in, everything changes…”
“Everything… changes.” Tsukiko muttered. That was it. As long as they were inside the fog, they would be moved around the forest, changing with it. If they managed to get away from it, they wouldn’t move. Whatever was untouched by the fog, just wouldn’t change.
“Layla!” Tsukiko put her hands around her mouth, to widen the reach of her shout. “The house! Don’t take your eyes off the house! Let’s try to get there as soon as possible!” That was the only thing that just wouldn’t change, because the fog couldn’t reach it. “In case you couldn’t get there, just don’t take your eyes off it! The house won’t change, so use it as a guide to move there!” She took a deep breath to add something else. “If we get separated, just try to get to the house, no matter what!” Maybe this wouldn’t be necessary, maybe they could get there before too much fog hindered their movements and just pushed them around. In any case, it was obvious that, inside a forest where everything changes, the only thing they could use as a guide was the one thing that wouldn't change: the house.
Hopefully, the plan was clear enough. Tsukiko would abide by her own words and she and Mitsuharu would try to move towards the house as fast as they could. They were trying to get there before everything inside the forest changed. However, if this was not possible, they would still keep their eyes affixed to the house and would keep trying to get there. That was the spot where they had to meet, it was their guide, it was their lighthouse in open sea.

Eleonora The way Layla explain that digimon can have cute appereances and hide a tremendous power due to evolution didn't help Tsukaimon's case a lot of things where circling Eleonora's thoughts which made focus on whatever Sepikmon was saying hard, would it be really possible that they're just being played? No, no time to think on that otherwise the forest will screw with her again
"Thanks and once again sorry for the bad attitude" The German girl said once Sepikmon clear the way for them. "Let's keep moving Layla we have no time to lose"
Maybe Layla took that a little too serious since she quickly pass Eleonora and took the front, the girl had her sight fixated on the ground not that Leo could blame her it's hard to believe that someone you trust as your partner can be so dangerous that a forest wants to take it away, the blonde took a couple of steps forward trying to reach Layla to gave her a hug god knows poor girl needs it, but before she could do anything both girl spotted a small house on a hill that Layla recognize as the place where they found the flowers, the girl quickly stormed off that way Leo following her closely only to grab her by the hand and stop her.
"Don't run off like that! Look" Said Eleonora pointing at the fog that was slowly lifting. "We gotta be careful now so we don't get split again, I want you to hold my hand and let me go first, close your eyes and clear your mind don't let go my hand for anything and let's focus on getting there, if we doubt or anything this fog will play with us focus either on the house or me, alright?" With that said Leo hold Layla's hand tightly almost fearing that if she hold it on a more softer way somehow the girl will dissappear once they enter the fog, the blonde sighed and started walking towards the house on the hill, hopefully this can be the halfway point of this crazy adventure
Gurren-Lagann and Morgan Even for their logical minds the words of Mephistomon made not a single bit of sense and they were just glad that thing went away, both gears appreciate the compliment of Bagramon and at the same time they felt a little worry for the fate of their general so they did not lost any second on following the mysterious mon.
They walked for a while many digimon looming on the corner of their eyes but fortunately no one decided to attack, can't blame them as the gear said before fighting Bagramon is a TERRIBLE idea, it didn't took long for them to reach that insufferable fog again and sadly their guide told them that this was as far as he can get, but as a goodbye Bagramon split the fog and the trio of rookies saw at the end of the path three figures two of which they recognize with relative eas.
"Getting visual confirmation of three figures ahead" "Targets confirmed, Kunemon and Tsukaimon, third figure unkonw may need to get closer to identify"
Without a second thought the gear look at Morgan and nodded giving the bee the OK to go ahead and reunite with his brother, they'll follow behind

Roger & Morgan The Digimon they passed loomed in the forest around thme but Morgan's attention was turned inward so thoroughly he did not notice them. A strange state for the 'mon who typically spent his time as the eyes of his travelling group. He was focused on last words that Mephistomon had given him, and what Bagramon had said.
It was with a start that he realized the group had stopped travelling. He blinked rapidly as if he had just woken from sleep. Bagramon's words warred for his attention with the siren call of his important person being up ahead for a moment. Finding the missing humans won and Morgan merely gave the knight a thankful nod before heading down the path with the gears.
Now his attention was on the world around him as he walked. He had not taken wing since they had left Mephistomon behind. He did move more briskly than before, antenna perked up, eyes on the edge of the path.
"If there is someone ahead that Bagramon would not want to cross we should take care to avoid angering them as well." Morgan offered into the quiet. The light at the end of the tunnel was growing closer now, and within a moment the three were at the edge of the forest. He waited as the gears identified the figures. "If Roger is already there it may already be too late for us to make a good impression."
He sighed fondly and gave a shrug of his shoulders before giving them both a thankful nod and all but throwing himself into the air. The wind as if pleased he was out of the immediate embrace of the trees rushed him and whipped around his body in barely-visible eddies that tossed dead leaves in its wake. He could hear Roger's voice in the distance and he put a little more speed on.
To be heard from so far away his brother was clearly yelling.
"Y-y-y-you! Could you always do that? Why didn't you do that earlier, hm?" Roger demanded. He had gaped in silence for a moment after the display Tsukaimon had put on and for a brief moment his expression had looked shocked. Now he gave a good impression of being angry. "Do you know how much work I did trying to save you, you brat?"
He turned his back fully to Babamon, perhaps not the best move in the situation but so far the eldermon had not shown any signs of aggression. From the quiver of his antenna to the unconscious raise of his tell it was obvious Roger was mad. "How dare you complain about charring when I had to spend all that energy clinging on while you got a cozy ride through the forest!"
"What are you yelling for?" Morgan had arrived! HIs confusion was obvious in his voice as he landed on the stump Roger had previously occupied. He faced the Kunemon so both Babamon and Tsukaimon were in front and to either side. He eyed the oldmon suspiciously. "Have you seen Hiroyo?"
"Wha-oh, hey Morgan. This is Babamon, she said we could take a flower." Roger calmed down to greet his brother, his voice unsurprised by the Fanbeemon's presence. It was almost as if the Kunemon hadn't been worried about him at all, or at least wasn't showing it. "Nope, haven't seen the brat-queen. No wait, I have seen the brat queen because GUESS WHO GETS THAT TITLE NOW!"
He turned his head from his brother to gesture with his beak towards Tsukaimon, all the anger from earlier rolling back into his voice immediately. His antenna twitched as he wiggled his head in the air and began speaking in a false-high. "Lookit me! I'm the laziest potato! My little paws are too precious to do any work until I can steal the credit from Roger!"
Morgan narrowed his eyes and looked properly at the Tsukaimon for the first time since he had landed then looked back at Roger. There was something odd here but his brother was being the opposite of helpful. Hiroyo While Layla's heart had almost stopped, Hiroyo's was going a million miles an hour.
It thundered in her ears so loudly she was positive it could be heard, but if Layla wasn't remarking on as close as she was (too close for Hiroyo's complete comfort) then it was likely Dinobeemon couldn't either.
A mighty hand smacked against the tree above their heads. Hiroyo winced but kept quiet. She was not a complete stranger to dangers in the digital world but she wasn't use to keeping quiet. If this situation went on much longer she was bound to give them away with a startled squeak or maybe her nerve would break and she'd go running off into the underbrush.
Something changed. It was almost a presence and for a moment she thought it was the mighty beast that hunted them that was giving her that impression. The feeling wasn't hostile though, nor did it seem to be a sense of danger. The longer she thought of it the more she realized that the other seemed more ambiguous than that. Her brief introspective helped her pinpoint the source as coming from her waist and the battered digivice clipped to her belt.
'The twins.' They had to be close. She looked up hoping to see Morgan looking down,, lurking in the branches above and preparing an ambush. Instead there was only Dinobeemon's hand and more treetops. Then she spotted it.
A wisp of smoke in the distance. Her eyes widened, she knew where they needed to go, but how would they get there?
"Cover me, then get ready to run." She leaned close to Layla, put her mouth right up against the other girl's ears as she breathed out the words. Her voice was barely even a whisper. Layla might at first fear Hiroyo was doing something dumb (and maybe she was) but the redhead turned sideways so she could pin her purse between them. Carefully she slid the shoulder strap over her head with her eyes on the metal attachments. She managed to make it without a sound until the very end.
Clink!
A quiet but decidedly out-of-place noise for their surrounds. Panic spread across Hiroyo face and she leaned around the tree on the opposite side from Dinobeemon and pitched her bag as hard as she could into the undergrowth. It crashed through branches until it smacked into a tree and slid down into a bush.
Hiroyo wasted no time. She grabbed Layla by the wrist and hauled the other girl after her in a dead run in the direction of the smoke.

For Roger, Morgan, and Gurren-Lagaan's Eyes Only:
Tsukaimon fell over, laughing her tiny bean booty off as Roger starting making demands of her. It may have been visible to Roger now how flexible, almost elastic, her body was. She twisted and turned with each laugh, and her grin seemed to stretch from ear to bat-winged ear. "You're so silly!" was all she had to say in response to Roger's berating. Any other questions he had were answered with little more than a giggle. Babamon, clearly amused by this, excused herself to head back into the house. By the time Morgan, Gurren, and Lagaan approached, the Tsukaimon swooped down and perched right onto Roger's head. His twitching antennae beckoned like cat toys set to high speed. How could she not absentmindedly paw at them while waiting for all those slowpokes to approach?
It lasted for a painfully brief time. As soon as Tsukaimon was called the brat-queen her uproarious laughter returned, leaving the bean rolling right off of Roger's noggin. She flung out her wings right as she well, catching herself without falling an inch. Then she just continued to roll away. How much was she enjoying this? "Yep! Yep! I'm the queen of the castle!" she chirped, drifting back to her favorite stump all the while. As she finally settled she turned to Morgan, tilting her head to process his question. "What's a Hiroyo again? Oh! Right! The ditzy one! Well . . ." Tsukaimon paused, looking up to the sky and humming loudly. She rolled over onto her back and scratched her chin with a wing tip. She drummed her legs onto the stump's surface thoughtfully. Then she sprang onto her feet, eyes shining bright. "Oh!
I dunno."
Well, Tsukaimon, you sure are helpful.
TO BE CONTINUED!
For Tsukiko and Mitsuharu's Eyes Only:
"The . . . house?" she asked, standing on her tiptoes to take a peek at the roof. She was clearly straining her eyes due to the fog swirling around her. However, the puffs of smoke coming from the roof proved to be all the help she needed. She snapped her fingers, letting out a laugh of triumph. "You did it again, Tsuki! Sure am lucky to be here with a brain like you." Now with a plan set, she kept her head held high and marched right into the fog.
The house seemed to drift in and out of focus, its position changing within the swirling mass of fog. Sometimes a peal of fog drifted in front of Layla and Tsukiko's eyes, only for the house to be several feet in front of them when their vision cleared. Sometimes it skipped forward right in front of their faces after they blinked, only to be back in its usual place afterwards. There were even times when strange shadows moved within the fog, writing and grasping for the duo. Nevertheless, it always remained visible. The forest's smoke and mirrors were having no effect on the Ashikaga Clan's focus, and soon the house began reluctantly stretching into running distance.
"Something about this house feels important," Layla mused, the fog starting to thin around the duo. Had they broken through its densest part? "It's funny. I was hoping for a change from the forest, but now that it's here I'm starting to get a little worried. Or, heck, maybe I'm just gonna miss traveling with all you guys. Do you think we'll find the rest before we're done here?" She laughed nervously, her laugh petering out into a sigh. "I really hope so. I'm not sure what's gonna be worse. Dealing with this place unprepared, or having to go back into that forest after.
Whatever happens, I can count on you to keep everyone safe, right?" She smiled softly at Tsukiko, her question less genuine curiosity and more a firm belief in Tsukiko's ability.
Then, without a further word, she stepped out from the fog.
Roger, Morgan, Gurren-Lagaan, Tsukiko, and Mitsuharu:
An incoming silhouette had barely stepped through the fog before Tsukaimon rocketed off of her stump. She was on a direct collision course, arms spread and smile adoring. "Lay!" she cheered, promptly knocking into the girl hard enough to leave her sprawling onto the ground. Tsukaimon didn't seem to care about that little detail, trotting in a little circle on Layla's jacket before snuggling into it. "I was so worried! I thought you were, like. Dead! Or eaten! Or dead, then eaten!"
Layla could only laugh warmly in response, propping herself back onto her feet. To make sure Tsukaimon didn't drop, she swaddled the little bean back into her arms. "Hey, come on," she said, ruffling Tsukaimon's fuzzy head. "You know I'm made of tougher stuff than that. 'Sides, I had some good help keeping me company.
Tsuki! Mitsu! Come on out, guys, it's just everyone's partners!" Wait, what? Layla suddenly straightened up, blinking a few times. "Just everyone's . . . oh, I am gonna kick this forest's ass for this," she muttered, shaking her head in frustration. "Okay, don't panic. I'm sure the rest of the humans are around here somewhere, guys."
Tsukaimon wiggled out of Layla's arms as she heard this, taking a few wingbeats before flapping into the skies. "I'll check up here," she said. She was way less lazy when her beloved human was around, it seemed. "Shadow, shadow, shadow . . . ooh! Ooh! There's somebody over there!" Tsukaimon pointed a nubby paw towards the fog, a silhouette worming making her way through it.
Layla turned to Tsukiko and Mitsuharu, a confident grin on her face. "Tsukiko, can you wait here and make sure the others are safe?" she asked. "Mitsuharu's our best fighter right now, and I don't want that Apemon sneaking up on us again. Worst case scenario I'll have a better chance of losing him in the fog without you all getting scattered again. Keep an eye out for me, Tsukaimon. I'll be right back!" Her earlier worries melting away in the presence of her friends, Layla turned and dashed back into the fog.
For Eleonora and the KoGears's Eyes Only:
Layla looked away, nervously adjusting some hair behind her ear with her free hand. "Right. That was foolish of me," she said. "I guess I was too excited about the change of pace. This place is really starting to get to me . . .
Thanks for helping me cool down. That could've been really bad."
Layla sighed, taking in a few breaths so deep that they seemed to be moving the fog around. She seemed all too happy to accept Eleonora's hand. Heck, she even held more tightly onto it, just as frightened of losing Eleonora as Leo was about losing her. "Alright. We're here. We're alright. We can do this," she repeated. She took in one last deep breath, and then closed her eyes.
The forest's whispers began dancing around Layla and Leo once more. They began taunting the girls about how lost they were, how confused and frightened they must have been. They insisted that the girls were going the wrong way, simply heading further into the depths of the forest. They wondered if the girls would starve first, or if they would instead be food for the forest's many Digimon. They asked if Tsukaimon, Gurren, and Lagaan would know if they were gone, or if they would even care. Each of these questions repeated for what felt like an eternity, seamlessly blending from one to the next.
Layla's grip on Leo's hand tightened with each word. She whimpered slightly, biting her tongue to stop the sound from escaping her throat. However, the verbal assault was all too much. Her eyes snapped open, and she found herself screaming "Leave us alone!" Her hands were trembling now, but she didn't care about hiding that from Eleonora anymore. Instead, she continued screaming into the forest. "Our Digimon are okay! Our friends are okay! And we! Will! Be! Okay! So just . . . get . . . out!" She put her back into that last scream, leaning forward with her eyes squeezed shut. Then as quickly as she had started she stopped, flinching back in fear of the forest's retribution.
But nobody came. Even the forest's whispers came to a halt.
The rest of the journey was almost suspiciously quiet. Layla was thankful for that. She kept close by Eleonora's side to scan the forest for threats, but if anything each step brought them closer to safety. Each passing second thinned the fog around them more, until soon a thin haze was all that remained. The house was tantalizingly close now, and with it several figures came into view. Layla peered into the fog to try and make them out, but upon noticing a Tsukaimon among the group any hesitation stopped. She let out a deep sigh of relief and ran through the fog, taking the lead for Leo in this final stretch.
Everyone But Hiroyo:
Layla sighed in relief as she broke through the fog, hand in hand with Eleonora. "There we go . . . we're okay now, see?" she panted, turning to Leo and trying to work up a confident smile. It wasn't very successful, but she was trying her best here. Upon noticing this Tsukaimon swooped down to perch on her shoulder. The bean softly smooshed her face into Layla's face, Layla weakly leaning into the gesture. "Thanks, Tsukaimon," she said, giving the bean a pat on the head. "But hey, at least we're almost done here. We're all here now, right? . . . Right?"
She turned to the crowd, pointing at them and counting under her breath, before letting out a worried sigh. "Hiroyo," she added, turning back to the fog just as quickly as she had exited it. "I'll be right back, everyone. I'm just gonna make sure Hiroyo gets here safe and sound. Tsukaimon, keep an eye on me from the sky, okay? The fog seems like it's thinning out, but . . . just in case something goes wrong, yo know?"
Tsukaimon nodded, a determined smile on her face. "I'm not gonna let you down!" she chirped. "Everyone else just wait with Mitsuharu, okay? He's so big and strong now, so he'll keep you safe." Did she just wink at the Dinohumon? Surely that was just his overly-romanticized imagination at work!
With that said, the two girls dipped into the fog.. Tsukaimon skimmed its upper layer, but Layla went right back into the mess.
For Hiroyo's Eyes Only:
As an apex predator of the Server Woods, Dinobeemon had nothing to fear. Maybe that was why its first reaction to a suspicious noise was not to flee but instead to answer its challenge over his dominance. He let out a ferocious roar, beating his chest so loudly that each smash made Layla cringe. It was fortunate, then, that Hiroyo promptly yanked Layla away from the source of the noise. This time it was Layla's turn to stumble a little as she tried to catch up with Hiroyo, but she was too thankful for the rescue to mind. As they ran she looked over her shoulder, sighing in relief to see that Dinobeemon was charging in the other direction. With his massive forelimbs propelling him forward, and his wings giving him hangtime on each launch, it was clear that they could not beat Dinobeemon in a straight up race.
The fog thickened around Layla and Hiroyo as they ran, finally amassing to the point where it started slowing their movements once again. Layla took advantage of this time to tighten her hold, a signal that she wanted to take a quick breather. "Just give me a second," she asked between heavy breaths. "Today's been one heck of a workout, I swear." Whereas before the fog seemed isolating, it took on a different tone now that Layla and Hiroyo weren't alone. It was almost calming, the eerie trees and threatening Digimon of the forest all blocked from their vision.
After taking a look around to confirm that they were safe, Layla looked at Hiroyo and smiled. "You really saved my butt back there, didn't you?" she asked, before promptly leaning into a hug with the other girl. Now it was her chance to whisper something directly into Hiroyo's ear, so close that she might as well have been brushing against it. Unlike Hiroyo's situation, however, Layla had far less urgent reasons for such an intimate form of communication. "I guess that makes you my Hiro, huh?"
I take it back. A pun that awful is clearly an urgent reason.
With the pun delivered she turned to Hiroyo, a mischievous smirk on her face. She had yet to break the hug, and she almost seemed to be studying Hiroyo's face. She just had to know what Hiroyo's reaction would be to a mix of smooth flirtation and awful, awful puns. Then she leaned the slightest bit forward, once more trying to gauge Hiroyo's reaction. Would the girl be alarmed? Confused? Or intrigued?
If Hiroyo didn't shy away too much, Layla would lean forward to plant a kiss right on her cheek.
(Un)fortunately, that would mark the end of their alone time. A familiar cry of "Lay! Come on, where are you?" echoed through the fog, as Tsukaimon's silhouette appeared on the horizon of Layla's vision. Her flirty grin immediately dropped to a look of relief, and she promptly started walking towards the source of the sound. "Everyone's waiting for you, Lay! Come oooooon!"
In mid stride she turned back to Hiroyo, a soft smile on her face. "Shall we?" she asked, hand dangling behind her for Hiroyo to either take or leave. Whatever they had chosen, it would only be a short walk to safety now that Tsukaimon was here to guide them.
EVERYONE IS HERE:
Once Hiroyo and Layla strode through the fog, a sharp "A-hem!" echoed through the air. The door to the house creaked open as its owner walked out; a Babamon with a wide smile stitched across her face. She turned to Roger, one of the few people around who she actually knew enough to speak with. "Roger, are these all of your friends?" she asked. "I'd really rather not have to explain all of this again. And I do not want any uninvited guests coming to m flower garden."
Tired yet seemingly at peace, Layla flashed a smile Babamon's way. "This is everyone, don't worry," she said. "Who are you, and- wait, did you just say flower garden?" The girl's eyes lit up, and she took a few steps forward out of sheer amazement. "I . . . wow, I don't even know what to say. I mean-"
"I do."
Babamon took a few steps forward, tapping with her broom as she stepped towards Layla. She looked the girl up and down, rubbing her chin thoughtfully all the while. She continued to maintain this thoughtful pose while orbiting around Layla. Tsukaimon promptly landed on the girl's head, trotting in circles to follow Babamon's orbit. "You seem quite happy to hear of my gift. Are you the boring-honest one?"
"The huh?" Layla blinked a few times, trying to figure out what that meant.
Babamon promptly waved the comment off. "Oh, don't you mind that. I meant to say, you're the one who came this far to find my gifts, yes?" This time Layla nodded, the statement far more comprehensible. "And are you aware of what these flowers are capable of?"
"Capable of?" Layla's forehead wrinkled as she tried to think of an answer. "They're capable of . . . smelling really nice and glowing pretty in the moonlight?"
Babamon sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "I figured she'd know nothing," she muttered. "Roger, could you please explain? These tired old bones just don't tell stories like they used to. And once you do . . . why don't all of you tell me what you think of your friend taking a plant with her? These are not a boon to be given lightly, but if you trust her enough to risk these woods with her, I trust your judgment."

Morgan, Roger, The Gears The strangeness of the forest is by now well established in Morgan’s mind but that didn’t put him at ease.
If anything it only increased his frustration.
He sighed in frustration as rather than explaining anything Tsukaimon just made the situation worse by her actions, although really it was Roger’s lack of reaction that was weird to Morgan.
His brother’s antenna froze when Tsukaimon jumped on him even as his body dipped under the weight. He seemed to catch himself - he straightened up and his antenna twitched again at the same same moment as he scolded the ear-winged virus.
"Think about how heavy you are after a meal like that! Don’t jump on me!"
The Tsukaimon’s compliance is understandable, little bolts of electricity are beginning to bounce about him. He grudgingly moved over to make room for her, one of his legs butted up against the axe embedded in the top of the log. Roger curled to face them, his beak pointed steadily at the purple and white virus type.
There’s something almost reassuringly normal about the way Tsukaimon described Hiroyo and Morgan clung to it. "Yes, the ditzy one."
"At least she’s not lazy!" Everyone but Leo, the KoGears, and Hiroyo There was more Morgan wanted to say but the arrival of three more comers to the clearing was a clear distraction. At first he tensed to see the Dinohumon but at Layla’s callings he relaxed once more.
"Tsukiko, Mitsuharu, Layla." He greeted each with a nod and his body sagged with relief. He was perched atop a stump with an axe embedded in the top. He seemed relieved when Tsukaimon winged her way into the sky, he barely glanced at her before his attention returned to the group.
His brother’s didn’t. It remained firmly on the Tsukaimon in the sky although he did speak up when Layla mentioned the Apemon. "You don’t have to worry about the Apemon! It’s been taken car-she’s gone isn’t she?"
"She was in the forest before you started talking. I commend you on not interrupting." Morgan said. He turned a surprised look to his brother, he would have felt it if Roger had evolved right? How else could the Apemon have been dealt with? "What do you mean the Apemon has been dealt with?"
He got an unintelligible grumble in return before the Kunemon finally spoke up.
"I’ll tell you the details later, but its gone." The Fanbeemon sighed and offered the others in the area a shrug. He was too strung out from everything to attempt further movement. Everyone that's probably actually done something (No Hiroyo) The arrival of Eleonora brought Morgan a little more to life.
"Your general appears to be in good health." He remarked to the gears, his voice kind. His own antenna twitched in impatience, where is the redhead of his little group?
Layla is quicker to realize who is missing than Roger or Morgan is to speak up.
"Thank you." He said simply as Layla ran off to fetch her. He should probably offer to chase after her himself but running into the fog again seems dangerous.
Morgan caught a glimpse of Roger in his peripherals and he turned to face his brother with the realization that the Kunemon is no longer tracking Tsukaimon like a Hawkmon after a Chuumon and is instead staring straight at him.
He stares back. He shrugged a query that’s accented by a flick of his antenna but Roger just grinds his beak and shakes his head. Morgan’s mouth isn’t quite right for a frown of the human kind but his forehead can still furrow and his eyes can and do narrow in obvious impatience.
A short stalemate considering how quickly Layla returned. Hiroyo in the Woods A band of fear and tension around Hiroyo's chest loosened as things went their way for once and the Dinobeemon went crashing through the underbrush in the opposite direction. She really hadn't been sure if that diversion would work but she wasn't going to tell Layla that!
Best not to worry the other girl unnecessarily.
"It's fine! I had it all under control!" She said between breaths as she slowed to a stop at the hand squeeze. She was in better shape than the other girl but not by much, Hiroyo really wasn't much of a sprinter. A confident grin spread on her face as she sucked air through her teeth.
That didn't keep her from keeping an eye out though. She idly scanned the area while Layla got her breath back, a grin crossing her face at the workout comment. "If you want a real workout you should come to the gym with me sometime!" Because of course running for their lives did not count in Hiroyo's mind.
(It was the thing you worked out so you could do successfully.)
"Hey you would've done the sa-" Hiroyo broke off as she was pulled into a hug. She didn't freeze up as much this time, at least not until Layla's breath brushed against her ear and the other girl dropped the cheesiest pick up line Hiroyo had ever heard.
Despite the extra helping of dairy product Hiroyo's face flushed as she opened her mouth to say something. Something smooth, something flirty, something witty and - "You talk like that around Tsukaimon and she's going to get jealous. Could be fun to see a grumpy potato."
'Noooooo.' Her inner self cried as her eyebrows bounced suggestively. Then Layla planted a kiss and Hiro's eyebrows disappeared into her hairline and her face went from 'slightly pink' to 'ripest tomato on the vine'.
Luckily for everyone she was spared from answering with the appearance of a just mentioned purple bean.
Layla didn't have to wait at all for reassurance, at the mention of everyone waiting Hiroyo was already stepping out of the embrace and pulling the other girl with her. "Let's go! I cannot wait to meet up with everyone again!" [/font] All Together Now When Morgan looked up at the reappearance of Layla and Hiroyo there was a bright red blush that faded fast as Hiroyo followed Layla into the clearing. It might be the fact she’s being led by the hand, or maybe it’s her overall bedraggled appearance that she’s embarrassed by, either way Morgan really only cares that she is safe. Despite the dampness of her person she appeared to be in good shape.
The hat is gone, and so too is her little purse. Her hair looks like mostly wet the way it does when she gets out of the shower at home and the digivice is still on her belt so the Fanbeemon allows himself to relax a little more.
It makes it really easy to brush away the guilt about not chasing after her with Layla.
"Morgan, Roger!" He picks up a claw to wave as she dropped Layla’s hand in favor of approaching the tree trunk. She wasn’t quite there when she hesitated to pull the digivice from her belt and hold it out to him. "This is uh, waterproof right?"
Morgan shot her A Look then examined it closely. This is the most important item she owns and she’s asking if its waterproof? He is irritated by the carelessness implicit in the request. He ignored a disapproving click from Roger in the background in order to focus as he poked a few buttons. The device seemed to be working fine. "It appears in working order, why are you wet?"
"Good! You see I-" She cut herself off with a jump as Babamon suddenly spoke up, already whirling around to face the sudden new appearance. Morgan was amused as she placed a hand on her chest.
"Yeah this is the group of slackers." Roger said to Babamon. There was the air of someone confirming something a friend had just said, and as Morgan watched the Kunemon did wiggle his way closer to the elder mon. Curious.
There was a very suspicious noise that sounded like a cough from the Kunemon as Babamon called Layla the ‘boring-honest’ one.
"That’s a mistake." Hiroyo remarked as Roger was picked to explain and Morgan was privately inclined to agree. Roger was awful with words unless he was using them to fight.
"Alright! Babamon has asked me to explain these things so shut up and listen!" The Kunemon yelled. His antenna were still and from his pose and tone he was taking this duty very seriously.
"First! These weird flowers are related the remnants of a previous demon of Lust and Babamon guards them! They change depending on what the person who finds them wants." He gestured to the garden with his tail as if that explained anything. He was no longer yelling but he was just as serious. "If you plant a seed you’re basically the only one who might have a clue what sprouts later." He pointed his beak at Layla, a swift movement to indicate her specifically. "Like, she’d plant one and probably get a weird-cool flower her brother would puzzle over for a while until he realized flowers are dumb and boring."
Morgan shook his head, dismissing the childishness in favor of concentrating on what had been said. That was a far more complete explanation than he had expected his brother to give. It didn’t necessarily feel incomplete, but he couldn’t stop the nagging feeling something was missing.
"Wait, where’s the rest of the explanation?" Hiroyo asked, half-heartedly raising one hand as she voiced her confusion. That really wasn’t what he’d been referring to. A better question would be-
"That’s it, that’s the explanation." Really? He shouldn’t be surprised, it was Roger after all. It still felt incomplete and wasn’t it important tha-
"But you said ‘first’ which implies there’s a second piece or more! What else?" Morgan rolled his eyes, was now really the time to poke at someone’s manner of speaking? The flowers were-
"What? No! There is nothing else!" Annnnd now Roger was getting defensive and grumpy, this would only lead to a constant spiral of arguing.
"Then why did you use first? That’s confusing!" Nope, time for him to cut in now since they weren’t going to stop.
"Now is not the time for this." He scolded, his voice quiet but clear enough to be heard by everyone present. If those two were going to act like children in front of everyone he was going to scold them like children in front of everyone! Roger stuck his tongue out then tossed his head while Hiroyo flushed a bright pink again and acted ashamed.
"Whatever, I’m fine with Layla getting one but not Tsukaimon." Roger declared before sticking his tongue out at the digimon named. Morgan looked to Hiroyo but she just shrugged. The Fanbeemon shook his head as well, who knew why Roger had taken a disliking to the purple virus type?

Eleonora And so the forest start his relentless attack of words again, this time it wasn't going to work for one thing and one thing only, Leo wasn't alone this time, sure Layla couldn't do much nor Leo herself, but just knowing that there is someone here that needs her is enough to turn Eleonora's bravado up to eleven thousand, she ignored most of the words coming from the forest, she knew that they weren't lost, she knew that Gurren and Lagann won't leave her, but most importantly she knew that right now she HAVE to be strong so she kept pushing forward without fear and ready to face whatever the forest throws at her.
Unfortunately Layla was the complete opposite and it seemed that the words finally got the worst of her and as she was screaming at top of her lungs Leo got ready looking at every corner of the forest she could see awaiting for the next move of this wacky place...
Nothing but silence came out of it, it was an uneasy feeling to the point that even having the voices sounded good as the German girl assume that those voices where there trying to make them lost track so that meant they where on the right path, now with the eerie silence she didn't know what to think...
Soon the mist would split and reveal the path to the house in the hill they'll been looking for, Layla quickly sprinted and went towards Tsukaimon that was there, not only her but also Roger, Morgan and even her gears, Eleonora sighed in relief and slowly walked towards the house
Everyone but Hiroyo Once closer to the house Eleonra took the last sprint towards her gears and gave both a big hug, she'd never imagine the nightmare she can live without those two around and finally see them again was a HUGE relief.
"I miss you so much guys, I'm glad you're fine" She said not letting go the gears
"We were worried too, we are glad to see you are ok" "It is nice to see that everyone is OK, although we are still missing Hiroyo"
Right! Leo took a glance at the group and found Tsukiko and Mitsuharu too but Hiroyo was nowhere to be found, before Leo could suggest to go look for her Layla was faster and venture into the forest again, as much as she hated now they had to wait, but if Layla doesn't come back she'll go there
Everyone is here for smashIt didn't took too long for Layla and Hiroyo to come back which was a relief it meant that soon they'll leave this place, to think Leo was camping in this forest some days ago and now had this whole crazy adventure just made her think that never again camping on the evil forest or the digital world for that matter.
A Babamon come out from the house who seemed to be the owner of the flowers, she talk a little with Layla before asking Roger to explain something which the centipede didn't lose time to do, his explanation was weird at best and confusing at worst, maybe was just that Leo had a pretty long day and was getting troubles to retain any kind of information as she just wanted to take a break, but the talk about the demon of lust did not go lightly by the gears that recognize he was talking about one of the Seven Great Demon lords, anyways what call the attention of the gears was how Roger was acting after finish his explanation, seem to be leaving something and was evading every opportunity to keep talking
"With all respect to you Roger, if you are hiding information we ask you kindly to reveal it" "We are sure that you and everyone else have had a bad experience in this forest and if there is something you are not telling us we could get caught on the curse again"
The gears talked and look at him with a serious expression, better have all the information possible than get trapped again.
"In fact we think it will be best for us to share our experiences "Yes, the forest may have had a different effect on everyone, think of what happen to every single one of us as puzzle pieces "If we know what puzzle piece have each other and combine them we will have a better chance of getting out and not getting caught on the forest tricks again"

Post by Tsukiko & The Ashikaga Clan on Feb 5, 2019 3:50:32 GMT
Roger, Morgan, Gurren-Lagaan, Tsukiko, and Mitsuharu: A smile had been drawn on Tsukiko’s face after finding out everyone was safe and sound. However, she didn’t take long to cross her arms, and stare at Lyla, silently while the whole scene developed. “Y-Yes. We’ll take care of them” She replied, a bit hasty. Dubiousness reigned over the blue-eyed girl’s expression. All of this seemed so familiar. The fact that everyone was gathered, maybe? No. The incoherence. Everyone But Hiroyo: It would become very obvious Mitsuharu had blushed A LOT. Did Tsukaimon just wink at him? Nah, surely that was just his overly-romanticized imagination at work… right?
Tsukiko just remained quiet, as she stared at this full-of-confidence Layla gather everyone around. Yes, of course. EVERYONE IS HERE: After what she had lived, Tsukiko couldn’t fully believe anything that was taking place inside of this fog. However, it was impossible to deny she was happy to see everyone again. Everything just turned a lot more confusing after she saw… A Babamon! She was very close to utter Kissu’s name, the other member of their clan that wasn’t currently with them. However, she was able to tell rather quickly, this was not the Babamon that belonged to the Ashikaga Clan. Mitsuharu raised his guard only for a second, until letting it down again right after. It seemed like the elder was trustworthy, and very far from being an enemy or anything of the sorts. Tsukiko’s arms were still crossed, all the while she wrinkled her mouth, listening closely to the Babamon. But... most importantly, looking at Layla once again. What had happened with the brave girl that had just pulled out everyone out of the fog just some seconds ago? It seemed as if she was back at being the dubious one they had met right outside of the forest, at the beginning of all of this. “The boring-honest… one?” Tsukiko muttered, quietly. Those words echoed in her head. Out of all the things Babamon had said, this was the one thing that sounded off, in her whole speech. Mitsuharu’s eyes went to her tamer for a second, before going back into the conversation taking place. Doubts started filling his mind, too. What the hell was going on? Then, some other words came to the pink haired girl’s head. “Everything something else, once”
“…Forest never same twice. Fog comes in, everything changes…” “Everything something else, once.” She muttered, once again. Too easy. It had just been too easy. Layla finding her earlier. Layla finding everyone else just now. Too easy. Roger explanation then came. Sadly, it didn’t touch the topics Tsukiko was somehow questioning right now. She could find some sense on what he was saying about the flowers, but… again, incongruences were easy to find. And not precisely related to how the plants worked. “So… this was the place where you found the one you currently have, Layla?” It sure didn’t seem like she recognized it. Weird, considering this house seemed to be untouched by the fog, so it couldn't have changed. “So you know her, right Babamon? You had seen her before, or at least you know who she is. How come she doesn’t know you?” Tsukiko asked, now addressing the elder woman. She was not taking the time to ask Roger to explain everything better, she was looking for answers herself. “If you’re guarding these flowers and she has one, then either you didn’t do a very good job, or you let her have it. That would explain why you know her, but why doesn’t she remember you?” Something was off, and it was far more off than whatever effect these flowers may have. Tsukiko knew this. “Is it because she is… the honest-boring one?” “I don’t know about your reasons to hide information from us, Roger.” Mitsuharu addressed the Kunemon. If he wasn’t talking to a lady, it wasn’t much like him to break silence. However, this called for it. He could actually understand where his Sensei was going. “But I agree with the gears. The story of what we have been through individually can help us get to the bottom of this.” “I was with Layla most of the time. She and I found the Gorimon that helped on Tsukaimon's kidnapping and, after questioning, him we discovered this forest hates Tsukaimon, for some reason. Then… we got to this house.” A brief silence ensued her words. “I would bet my favorite sword at least one of you can find something weird in that story.” She added. “So, in case you’re still wondering, Babamon…” Her blue eyes went for a second to Layla, and then back at the elder. “… Even if I maintain she’s a friend, I can’t agree on letting Layla have the flower. At least not until everything is cleared up. The reason is… I can’t trust her right now. Once we know exactly what's going on, and by that I mean all of it, my decision might change.”
