Somebody Told Me... [Karin]

"Reports, mainly," Karin answered "I wasn't there sadly. My parents decided that it's good time to visit extended family in America, and they wanted me to come so to say. I obviously can't say no, so I decided to come with them. But even then I was shocked to hear what happened in Miyashita Park. Well, it's not like Hachiko Square is any better, but... it's just shocking. Retaliation against past crime, isn't it..."
The knowledge about the Digimon... "Yes, it's not something that I feel the world is ready to have. I read reports about old DATS and how apparently they can brainwash your Digimon and you. That... sort of ability is... well, just outright unfair, you know? It can also trigger wars and whatnot... Humans will naturally try to weaponize Digimons in one way or another... that's what I'm afraid of."
Delegating power is nice indeed... "But the problem is so far i don't think we have 'leader' type just yet. We can try to give other people in the team chances, but... most of them seem to be content to be follower instead of actually leading. I feel while that's fine... kind of not helping the burden somehow. But at least we have clear image of who should lead in case the leader cannot lead, thankfully. And... about his job of choice, it's less... for the team and more for the fact that he feel... Digital World eventually will be open to everyone... it needs leader who can understand how relationship between world works. And at that time, where does our team stands? Something like that I guess."
How very well versed her about this topic, she admit not too much. Honestly, it might be better to say that she's not good in it at all. She prefers simplicity. No matter how much she studied, interpersonal, much less international or interworld relationship is beyond her spec of interest.
"Hmmm..." Karin just shrugged at Amelie's jab at the name. "If someone's being annoying and he have that sort of name, I'd call him Ashtray too," Karin answered. "Oh... This is the team Digivice. As for my partner? Actually..."
"I was above dealing with some guests," a voice called out. A white Floramon walked downstairs, where she then proceeded to open the hatch of the compartment. About a hundred of Penmons seem to be waiting outside, ready to transport frozen cars toward the garage.
"Is yours is in any need of repair or parking? You should talk with the leader of the bunch," she pointed at a bigger Penmon with darker coat, and fiercer eyes. It looked as if it got eyebrows. "That's a Macaropenmon. Strange as it is, apparently they only evolved to one in Ys. Ah, where's my manner. The name's Freya. Nice to meet you."

At least the team's information network seemed to be working as intended. Truth to be told, not knowing about those events was probably a critical failure than something praiseworthy, but... those were details, all things considered. "I wish I had been at my home country rather than having to solve that mess, to be honest. Dealing with past grudges is a drag." She added, a bit jokingly, a bit not. What happened there was among the many reasons why she didn't quite like ragtag groups. At least the events that had transpired at Miyashita had been... less than optimal, all things considered. It served as a reminder that Amy definitely didn't want to get in the blonde agent's bad side. As if that wasn't obvious enough.
"But I'm glad that, overall, at least two out of the three conflict points got a satisfactory resolution. I'm not sure about what happened at the third point, but... I'm kinda chalking that up to the fact that nobody there has been willing to share the details. Or maybe I just don't know them; lotta new tamers nowadays, amirite? Can't know them all."
Good thing that old DATS wasn't a thing anymore, luckily. Having such a degree of invasiveness in other people's life was definitely a tad too much power. "I wouldn't readily believe the rumors, honestly. The past is a bit unclear; what old DATS did is none of our business, especially when there are so many versions of what they were capable of doing or not capable of doing. Personally, I've heard stories of a rogue digimon hacking into their entire database; UFAMON, or something? Apparently, that guy got detailed info of every digimon, tamer, and otherwise active at that time. A bit ludicrous, considering that a security failure like that would be both inacceptable, and that DATS wouldn't really have the means of keeping tabs on every active digidestined and digimon. And that's just the tip of the iceberg; as a freelance journalist, I'd recommend you take the stories about past DATS with a grain of salt. You're gonna hear a lot of otherworldly stuff that's outright improbable if you try to dig info about them. Almost as if they had tried to propagate disinformation purposefully, y'know?"
Something that, in hindsight made a lot of sense. Quite the common fear tactic, she might add; maybe some of those were actually true, but most of the rumors she had heard were so outlandish that... they were pretty hard to believe, especially from an organization that had been active long ago. Ultimately, if they were so fearsome and had those abilities, they could've set something quite unpleasant in motion... long ago. But they hadn't; Amy herself didn't need more proof to know that meant the more outlandish claims were little more than a load of crap, honestly.
"But I digress." God, she really did so. It was almost as if the brunette loved the sound of her own voice! Which, in all honesty... wasn't that far from the truth. At least at plain sight, it seemed like KIZNA had quite the leadership vacuum; definitely, something that could become a problem down the line if that wasn't taken care of. "I see. Quite dicey, if you ask me; having too many followers and not a high enough supply of leaders can stunt an organization's growth, since everyone's pretty much awaiting the lead of a single person; I feel like that's not optimal, but that it's not too bad either; definitely a 'if life gives you lemons...' kinda situation, if you ask me. It's a pity that I'm busy with my own business, or I'd definitely offer to give y'all a hand; this is probably the second most worthwhile project I've seen in a while."
The most worthwhile? That was a question that didn't need to be asked, honestly! "I wouldn't plan for an uncertain future, however. If the chance presents itself; sure. Go ahead and take it. But... meanwhile? You probably should live the present, and at least take into account the events you can foresee. I feel like things would get too complex otherwise, especially if he already has something that he enjoys doing. Why stray from that? I don't see it."
Being prepared for any eventuality could pay off, but displaying that degree of foresight couldn't be healthy. The Digital World being open to everyone would probably take years, if not decades. Good thing that such a complex topic was interrupted by the appearance of a fairly pretty Floramon and a veritable stampede of Penmon. Pretty amazing, all things considered.
"Nice to meet you, Freya," Amelie responded, all while thinking about the digimon's offer. "For some reason, hearing the name 'Macaropenmon' made me hungry. It's been a while since I had some macaron; I've seen they have something similar in some convenience stores in Japan, but I'm worried they won't be as good as the real thing. Anyway! I'll go talk to the penguin. Be right back."
Luckily, the car was pretty resistant to the elements, so it only needed to be parked. Once the young woman had dealt with that, she went back to the group. "So, if you don't mind me asking. How long since you two have been partners? Were you chosen at the same time than Karin's boyfriend? I wanna hear all the details!"
Yup, as curious as they came.

"Hmmm, I thought you're a half just like me who lived in Japan, but turned out you're more to a foreigner instead?" Karin commented. "Either way, when it comes to real world, we have duties to keep monitoring how DATS operates. Something like that could impact how relationship between real world and our world in relationship, and in turn, the chosen and Digimon. I just hope that DATS won't be headed by some idiots... I think it's clear what would happened if DATS tried to make itself an invader to Digital World."
...It's a dangerous talk, but it's clear that there are some tense air between the two organization, DATS and KIZNA. "There are indeed too many new peoples. Well, I'm not the one to talk as I'm new myself. But even then it's surprising to hear that there are not many people who knows one another considering there are Tamernet. Either that or people troll on each other too much or isn't using it in right way."
That part about the rumors though? For lack of better words, it was stupid as hell. However, Freya laughed out loud. "Well, how to say, I have heard something like that once upon a time... The rumor escaped my mind until you said it, but of how true that is, let's say it's absolutely not true. But even then I feel the Digimon who said that has deluded himself, thinking that he seriously done something like that."
"...Is... is that serious? You're talking as if you know what happened."
"Oh, yes, yes I do. I can't remember for life of me whether I have met the said person or not, but I know of the rumor directly from the source. Let's just say it's outlandish as it comes. It's better for you to just ignore it, although apparently DATS DO keep tabs of people that they met personally. Although on talk of whether they brainwashed people or not, that's something that is questionable at best."
Karin shrugged at the leadership thing. "...As much as it's strange, we need a sub leader that is not related to our childhood circle of friends, Because usually if there is something that happened to our current leader, it's not one of us, part of his childhood friends that will lead... because we'll most likely get pulled to his adventure or something like that..."
How long since they're partners? "Two or four months months, so slightly after Yuuki partnered with Hikaru... or repartnered should I say? Apparently he was in an accident that caused him to forgot everything about Digital World. He got repartnered about half a year or so. We pretty much doesn't keep tabs of our time really. Hard to keep tab on it when time dilation are a thing."
"Either way..." Karin pointed at a car with her thumb. It's seem to be locally made, and looked more to utility rather than design. "Here's our car. Do hop in."
The couch is firm, yet at the same time soft enough. It's warm inside, and seem to give enough privacy from outsider's sight. The wheels are also designed for Ys' road, that isn't seem to be paved with asphalt, but some other material. Its height also seem to be made for ease of disembarking and entering.

"Kinda, yeah." She answered. "I'm not a Japanese native, if that's what you mean; but I decided to live there by choice. Whether I'm persistent on that choice or not depends on if I like Tokyo enough, and on if I'm good enough at what I do to warrant that. Take you were Japanese born and raised, even though probably at least half of your family lives abroad, judging from what you've just said. But I digress, I guess; while you're correct in regards to how DATS activity might impact the relationship between worlds, I think that it's just another component in the puzzle that is how long-term human-digimon diplomacy will come to be. And while important in its own right, I think it's not nearly as important as what happens here, in their world. Without any semblance of a centralized authority, I think that the brunt of how we're perceived comes to how humans carry out their daily activities here more than anything."
Was that accurate? Probably, probably not; Amy's takes tended to err towards the strange side, even though they all her statements seemed to be pretty well-thought. Could it mean that she had been actively thinking about this all beforehand? Probably! "Time will tell what happens next; for now, I just know I want to be part of it. Nothing would make me happier than knowing I had a role to play in the turbulent times ahead. I can only hope that my contribution will be meaningful, however."
Something as stupid as invading the Digital World would probably never happen. Nobody could be that dumb, right? It was really easy to guess how badly something like that would go, which made the very proposition of something like that alarming. "Tamernet is... not something I'd call trustworthy, to be honest. Unknown people can prove to be really harmful if they put their hands on it. Not the place I would go in order to search for answers, if I can help it; Other sources tend to be way better, anyway."
Could it be that the place had managed to become the Digital World's equivalent of 4chan, rather than a helpful platform? Maybe, or maybe the brunette's own standards were somewhat high for a place like that one. No way to know, really.
On the flip side, Freya's laughter was somewhat contagious. "You were there when it happened, huh? I guess that just proves my point on not believing everything you hear. Some of that stuff is just too outlandish, even by digimon standards. Especially considering that was years ago."
Half concerning, half understandable. Truth was that Karin had a point; an absent leader could be utterly disastrous, especially when his friends were friends first and teammates second. Could anything be done about that? Probably not, honestly. With a silent nod, Amy acknowledged that before moving onto the partnership between the two beings; four months at most, huh? That was interesting, considering it wasn't really a lot of time; she raised an eyebrow at the 'repartnering' bit, but decided to not mention it. The whole deal seemed very strange.
Without further ado, and with all her things taken care of, the young woman decided to hop into the car and enjoy the ride a bit. While she had to admit that this trip had been a lot more interesting than what initially planned, she still pretended to relax a least a little bit before meeting with KIZNA's leader. Nevermind the fact that the scenery was a breathtaking sight on its own; Ys was undoubtedly a beautiful city. "I could get used to to this place, in all honesty. Despite the environment's apparent harshness, I gotta say that it's quite cozy."

"That's what I mean, yes. And yes, I'm Japanese born and raised. My mother is the same, albeit she's 100% white person, you see. My grandparents are from America, then they decided to stay here for unknown reason. I thought it was rather weird considering the state of politics back then..."
As much as she would agree, there is part of her that disagree that it's not as important. "They said voice of minority is the strongest, but exactly because of that we can't quite dismiss it, Amelie. Extremists of Digital World is far worse than extremist of real world in term of how lethal they are. if they got more and more supporter, it'll end up a repeat of golden week, probably to bigger degree. Even if you're limited to perfect stage in real world, the damage alone is already rather catastrophic," Karin commented.
Being part of something big huh... "I'm not sure if I share that sentiment, but I guess sooner or later I have to face my own fear and take a fight myself. At the moment I'm the only one without power in the team... pretty much. I have never evolved Freya past child stage."
...Yet if Amelie could sense it somehow, Freya is definitely a perfect stage tier at least in power. Which makes it even stranger that Karin has yet able to evolve her up.
"I guess that is true... it's not quite helpful huh..."
"In a sense it's funny though. I mean, DATS Appreciation thread was golden," Freya quipped. "Someone really butthurting about DATS huh?"
Karin shrugged at that.
Cozy eh? Karin smiled a bit at that. "Everyone worked hard to get it to this point. We also advertised around the northern area to see if there are many people who want to move. At the same time we're aware of how much this city, no matter how nice, would feel cramped with its walls. That's why we quickly established train networks in cooperation with Terminus' Railway Network. Speaking of which... this city's development was halted because of misbilling."
".........ah right, Hikaru somehow was billed on Super Ultimate mercenary contract although we doesn't have the qualification. After a refund, the entire city... well, fully funded. That was absolutely mad if you ask me." Freya commented. "By the way, do you have any place you'd like to visit? Or any place you're interested in?"

It was an interesting tale of origin, all things considered. "American immigrants, huh? It's definitely interesting, even though I struggle to understand the whole deal a bit; it seems like a horrible decision in hindsight, but... I guess that you wouldn't have been born if that hadn't happened. Sorry if that was rude! Not my intent."
While she felt that the voice of the minority was in most cases the most overrated thing ever, Amelie decided to nod at Karin's statement. It was well-reasoned, and the truth was that if left to their own devices for long, they could become quite dangerous themselves. Underestimating them could prove to be fatal. "I feel like something like what happened in the Golden Week will happen again; the resolution of the last one was tenuous at best, and I'm sure there are plenty of unhappy digimons left. The question is when rather than if, if you catch my drift. As a heads-up, I'd be really careful in the Human World. I can say for certain that it's a less safe place than before, sadly."
For a second, Amy stared pensively at Karin after her next words, then at Freya. Then back at Karin, and finally back at Freya once again. In a bit of a sudden gesture, she decided to try and gently caress the Floramon's head for a couple of seconds. "Unable to go past child stage, huh? I'm sure that the two of you will get past that in due time; the bond is certainly there, so I wouldn't worry about it a lot. Just go at it at your pace."
After that decidedly weird gesture, the girl decided to chuckle at the comment that came next. "I don't think that DATS are the bad guys, honestly. They're just government workers trying to keep everyone safe; can't really blame them, can we? They're decidedly on humanity's side, and if that means that chosen just have to go into hiding for them to perform their job... so be it. It doesn't seem like a terribly hefty price, don't you think? There are plenty of workarounds to that situation, and I frankly think that people exaggerate it by quite a bit. But that's me."
All the effort that came into this city's construction had been indeed noted by Amy. It wasn't hard to guess that Ys was the fruit of a lot of hard labor and careful planning. Saying that it had been a mere happenstance would be both shortsighted and rude. Her thoughts came to a sudden halt at the mention of misbilling, however. That was... quite the anecdote. "Team Guardian Ω, huh? The price of that thing is quite hefty, but I guess it makes sense. Getting somebody at the Super Ultimate level to look out for your city is definitely a boon if you can afford it. Keyword being if you can afford it; I can't see a lot of people or organizations being able to field that cost, even if that also makes it... special, in a sense? What do I know; it's a good thing that you got a refund, however. Definitely not a priority in the face of more essential things."
Did she want to go to any place in specific? That was a good question "How is Ys arranged? Is it by districts, or do you have another way of ordering the city? In any case, I'd be interested in visiting the main square, wherever that is. If I want to get a proper image of this city, I guess that'd be the best place to start. We can probably see from there, if we have any time."

"Errr, World War II? We're talking about my grandparents who is like around that age you know?" It's definitely a complicated subject though. "Well don't worry about it I guess. It's true that I won't be born if they don't move here for whatever reason. Either way, I guess that is why people often give my mother strange look when they heard her speaking fluent japanese in tokyo dialect."
Indeed, when is the question rather than if. "...The current event will probably quell the minorities some. But on the other hand this will definitely affect the action of those in real world. Speaking of which thankfully there are no one injured... too much? Just people fainting I heard."
Freya... felt a bit complicated and confused as of why she got patted, until it dawned to her what Amelie meant. "Pfttthahaha, there is a bit of complicated tale to that, Amy-chan, don't worry about it now. What you should know is that I'm just taking it slow, definitely. Building foundation is better than immediately building for the base, isn't that right?"
Indeed, DATS agents aren't bad people. What's bad are the (presumably) power hungry politicians behind them. "The stance of KIZNA is more or less 'don't make life miserable for the agents', you see... but no matter how we see it, it's useless if the underling is understanding but the bosses are piece of trashes... Sadly, matters regarding Digital World has yet to be fully understood by the government. They had no idea how delicate the matter is..."
How is Ys arranged?
"...Let's see..." Karin reached out toward the front passenger's dashboard. There, a small monitor pops out. "As you can see, our city is circular, with each districts are divided based on its roles. The north is more to training sector and heavy industry, such as crafting and development. KIZNA city office can be found here too. The west and northwest are used for housing district, a more welcoming part of Ys. We usually dedicate this area for tourists and civilian. The west gate is also entry for Trailmon, Locomon and Grand Locomon. Ys Grand Central Station is located here... and is on the point closest to the gate.
The east is where the farms are located, east and southeast, specifically. It's place where we do all our farming activities, and currently only 40% of the land is used. It's just massive you see... and as you can see there are quite the sparse difference between the actual city size and the available space... this happened because recently, the city kind of... expanded.
Either way, continuing, Southwest is for entertainment area, and also shopping district. Its placement is picked because south gate is where people can come if they're going with vehicle or walk on foot. East Gate meanwhile is used solely for exit. There are no north gate, because there are where we're bordered with mountains. So instead over there we have Cerulean Gym.
On the eastern outskirt, that's where the KIZNA base is. Well it's mostly hosting the upper echelon of KIZNA, GLORIA, rather than all KIZNA. It's pretty much our home. As for the center... well, we're here. This is the plaza."
Karin parked the car on the available parking lot, which situated on place a bit down from the park in level of elevation. The main plaza is a very wide square, with benches, a sizeable park with some level of elevation, and obviously observation deck.
"It's storming so there are not that many people out at the moment, but usually around weekend there are bazaar around here."

Dicey topics seemed to be the flavor of the day, whether they involved World War II or Golden Week repeating itself once again. Overall, Amelie couldn't but nod at both statements, showing some determination behind such a simple act. She just hoped that the situations that sprung could be kept as 'harmless' as they were the first time around. Otherwise, things might get real ugly real fast.
At the very least, Freya was still there to brighten everyone's day; how genuine was her answer managed to bring a smile to the brunette's face. "Amy-chan, huh. Well, you're free to take your time, I guess; by the looks of it, it seems you have everything under control. I'm sure that the finished product will be worthwhile."
Understandably, DATS and the people behind it was... a very interesting topic as well. "Ain't that a bit... too arrogant? I mean, I think that most politicians are good-for-nothings as well, but I also think that this whole deal is way too complex for one side to have the absolute truth regarding it. I think that, in the best-case scenario, a compromise of sorts can be reached. It's not like they're the enemy, y'know? While they probably have their personal agendas, I'm sure they all want a smooth solution to this one as well, mostly because whoever comes up with it would have their image drastically increased."
In a sense, politicians could be easily talked into doing what you wanted them to do as long as that would end up boosting their popularity. Coming with a solution to the 'Digimon Threat', probably would be somewhat high on that list. The details of such a proposal could very well enable more in-depth negotiations, and that was to say the least.
Not a topic that mattered a whole lot at the moment, however. For now, the young woman settled for listening raptly to the explanation regarding the city's layout; quite the interesting disposition, all things considered. It looked like quite a bit of planning had gone towards it; always something good to see! "You named your upper echelons as GLORIA, huh? That's a pretty interesting name. Your plaza is very pretty as well, even though it's a shame I didn't get to see the bazaar, but I guess there's not much that can be done about it. Maybe I'll have to visit later down the line! Not like I'll mind it a lot, to be honest."
Thus far, Amelie had been enjoying her visit by quite a bit? How long until the two hours passed? She wasn't sure, but if they still had enough spare time, she'd tell Karin to get them to the Entertainment District. Maybe she could buy some clothes for her future travels to the north? It wasn't like she couldn't do that after talking to Yuuki if the meeting was near, however.

"Perhaps that is indeed a bit too arrogant... but even then, how else should we feel when they brazenly said "send all Digimons back to Digital World"? There are parties which paid strong attention to what happened to real world. If it gets out that the government tried to enforce strong policy like that, what about extremist group that's waiting exactly that sort of rule to do the same to us? Sure the other might say 'we don't really care', but... at the same time, if a peace between world is to be obtained, then all sort of discontent must be dealt with immediately.
At least that's how I feel. At least if they truly care about us, then perhaps they should instead do more research about Digital World. Yes, perhaps it'll trigger a bit of discontent from other countries, but I strongly believe that a radical action will only upset the will of Digital World in long term. Sure it'll probably protect a lot of people, but... will it guarantee that it won't be a calm before a great disaster?
Either way, if those government people at least care, they wouldn't pick the name "DATS" for their team. Rumor or not about Old DATS being absolutely trashy, there are people over here who are like extremists who can easily get offended by that... eh, I digress, there are probably better thing to talk. But for what I caught at the moment, the current government is very anti-Digimon."
A bit heated? Perhaps. But Karin's delivery was done in even tone however, cold and yet at the same time prickly. The blonde lass seem to have very strong opinion in this.
So Amelie wanted to go to entertainment district. Well, that's fine with her. There are still about over two hours. The entertainment district obviously less crowded than usual due to the storm, but there are still people who seem to hate being confined inside their house and instead headed to the game centers, or the cinema, seem to glad about the fact that the theater most likely will be empty. However, the musical theater definitely not going to perform for the day. Only movie one will.
As entertainment district and shopping district are very close with one another, they would ultimately find Ys Mall... it's still crowded despite the storm and the increasing cold. Unlike most mall however, looks like people are socializing freely here, despite them being essentially strangers.

Good question, actually. "I know I'm not exactly the best judge of character, but I think that responding with a hot take with another eventually ends up burning the whole room down, if you catch my drift." Amelie answered, serenely. "Just because the other party is being ignorant and insensitive about a topic, it doesn't mean you have a free ticket to lower them to their level without repercussions. That's not a good way to think about it, in my opinion."
That comment was quickly followed with a shrug. "All in all, I think that if a law is passed by the government that forbids the entrance of Digimon to the real world, that'll be fine. It doesn't change things a whole lot, does it? It'd just mean digimon partners would have to wait in the Digital World for their tamers in order to hang out. Sucks to lose some freedoms, but I'd also say that it's not that rough of a deal?"
Now, what about the second prohibition? Well... "I think that saying both 'worlds' are going to mirror each other, mostly because the name of the 'Human World' is just Japan, more or less. A single country with strong policies and tightly-knit, borderline smothering community. The Digital World, however? It is so disparate, that coming into an agreement about worldwide policies sounds extremely hard at best, and ludicrous at worst. I honestly doubt that every area would rally behind the same common cause, especially if it's about a topic as controversial as banning humans. There's a non-marginal amount of us that live their daily lives in the Digital World as productive members of their society, you know? The same can't quite be said the other way around. Regardless of how you want to see it, the situation between Japan and the Digital World isn't really even, so I don't really think that a policy of equal policies is either fair nor warranted. Didn't happen before; why would start happening now?"
Onto the third question! "Obtaining that so-called 'peace' worlds is relative. I'd dare to say that right now, both worlds are in peace with each other. Don't you think so? There's no open hostilities between any involved parties; sides a couple of isolated incidents, I don't really see anything wrong with the situation between them. Why is there the need to change anything? Besides venting that Digimon are real to the general populace—something we have already discussed as a terrible idea, I doubt there's any point on deepened bonds or on looking for additional cooperations. Things are fine as they are, so why change them? I don't see the point. If anyone has a bone to pick with anybody, they'll do so no matter what happens or stops happening, so I'm not too worried about that."
After her point of view had been properly conveyed, Amy just shrugged. "I don't really care about names. Japanese are like that, y'know? They really love reusing old names; even today, some JSDF ships bear names of old WWII vessels. Whether tasteless or not, I don't really know; a nitpick at most, in my opinion."
The brunette's opinion regarding the whole issue was firmly lukewarm, even if it came across as slightly pro-DATS. Could she blame the Japanese government for trying to keep the Japanese citizens safe? Not really, especially not when something like the Digital World is so unstable and dangerous.
Then again, they could spend their entire lives talking about topic, especially if their postures regarding it were so different. At least for now; Amelie had other diplomatic aspirations; Japan was quite bland, anyway. For now, she focused on the new sights ahead of her, and on the relative luxury of the Entertainment District; she had to admit that whoever designed this site had quite the good taste!
Regarding the clothes she wanted to buy. "I think I want a hat. Gloves, maybe? Winter boots would be nice as well. Who knows, maybe I'll get a whole new getup just to mesh with the Ysians. Guess we gotta browse~."
Would Karin be able to be patient enough to bear with a full-blown shopping spree? At least for now, Amy seemed positively excited at the prospect! Chances were that now, that couple of hours would pass quite quickly... at least for one of them.

"Well passing that law is better, definitely... but is there a chance to passing that sort of law when what happened to golden week transpired? According to report by Yuuki, our leader, apparently DATS order was to kick all Digimon back to Digital World... Granted, the agents aren't 100% acting in favor of that order. They're more lenient, thank goodness.. but... if Digimons are handled in the same vein as terrorist, then it's not going to end well for any of us.
Plus... there are complicated manner with spirit users too. How would they handle spirit user? Ban them from Japan? That's silly isn't it? Unless they perfected a technology that disabled spirit users' digivice, I can't see that sort of law passing pretty much."
There's indeed a weight about how Digital World's does not unite in similar banner due to fact of absence of actual entity that can be called as 'an administrator', and the fact that to what Digimon knows, Real World = Japan, or 'Shibuya' even, considering that the gate only appeared in Shibuya for unknown reason...
"...To be honest, I'm dreading what if portals appeared in other place but Japan. We by nature may not wage war, we don't have army, only 'self defense force'... We know that if we do anything militaristic with Digimon we'll get hard consequence... but what if portal appeared in another places? What sort of things that might happened? Also... unless what I heard was completely a farce, I heard there are some communities of Digimon who blended in real world to have a life free from conflict of Digital World. Perhaps with holosuit... then again I understand part where you said "contribution"... in a sense that if they blend in, they'll probably be treated as human rather than Digimon anyway."
Japan are like that? "I think the issue is those ships are less known. Do you really would remember names of opponent's ship, named after WWII's ship, and spoken in language that most likely you won't really understand much? Meanwhile 'DATS' would definitely trigger some bad memories. DATS was still active until..."
"At least a year ago, so seven years digital world time. That's too fresh, Amy-chan," Freya supplied.
Mesh with Ysian?
"That's too vague considering... how to say, I don't think we really have our trendsetting fashion blend just yet," Karin answered. "Though, I guess there are some movement that started brand of 'folk clothing' for Ys. Would you like to visit there?" Karin offered.
Should she agree, Karin would lead her toward what looked like a simple store, one that seem to sell warm looking clothes and various apparel. Ys clothes apparently consist of two pieces. The inner piece are simple sweater, one with long sleeve. Yet, the material felt light instead of stuffy, and more airy, without letting the cold air permeates it. The outer wear meanwhile is a thin, short sleeved clothing, which seem to more to fashion than actually giving any benefit. The shirt is closed up by clipping a crystal brooch on the collar, or the side of the chest. There's feeling of fantasy to it. Of course there are mufflers and warm gloves too, but the image are mostly "stylish, thin, and comfy" rather than "thick, stuffy, and comfy" like most real life clothing.

Amelie smirked. Karin had a point, no doubt. "Well; I'm no politician myself, but I've noticed that there's a definite rift on what they say they will do and what they end up actually doing. This a conflict of interests, and as such, it's not really a black-and-white type of deal, you know? Right now, I think that everyone is overly wary because Digimon are a topic that's not easy to understand beyond the destructive power they are able to harness; that's why digivolution in Shibuya was suddenly limited to Perfect level at most. Nobody can disagree on that being a very good policy, right? Now, I ask you; why evolution wasn't limited further? Call me crazy, but that kind of good-will towards any potential Digimon residents of the human world can't be a mere coincidence. I think that some sort of diplomatic link has been established, or that at least there's some type of negotiation with the Digital World underway. Maybe I'm being too optimist, but I can't really give the fact that digimon can even evolve in the Human World any other explanation."
On the other hand. "When did extreme xenophobia end well for anyone, though? Last time I remember somebody tried to make it a country policy, they got two cities nuked. Literally. Not like the Japanese are too keen on letting it go, but at least they're trying, right? I feel like the new generations are more accepting than the older ones, and maybe some kind of consensus will be possible in the future. Even the cities of the Digital World are improving somewhat. I've heard that Luminas isn't the crappy place it used to be before; that much is a relief already."
She had to admit that both Freya's and Karin's arguments were valid, however... "In the end, I think that this topic is too complex, and that it has so many ramifications that being able to accurately predict the result of any policy is an exercise of futility. Let's hope that a conciliatory speech is the tone everyone will take from this day onward, and that incidents in the Human World will be kept to a minimum. That's probably what will produce the most favorable result in the long term. However... I think that, sooner or later, something to try and bash the tenuous peace we hae at the moment will happen. Hope we'll be prepared for when that happens."
Onto what mattered, though! Amelie didn't care about Ys apparently not having its own fashion just yet. "If they don't have one, then I gotta get to work, right? Somebody must be a role model for all the girls who look for the 'Ys Style', right? Might as well invent it while I'm here." And, by the end of it, the brunette looked like she could, indeed, initiate a fashion cult. Right now, the looks she sported were worthy of a model, even though that was understandable, considering the amount she had spent! "What do you think? Looks pretty cute, doesn't it? I think that Ys' style fits me."

"Now that's a topic that I'd like to discuss," Karin answered. Multitasking seem to be what she's good at considering how she could work on both driving and talking at the same time. Granted, there are autopilot, but driving manually felt better for Karin.
"So... you're indeed right on that part, it's strange. Why perfect? I think we're all aware of how destructive is a perfect stage even. One should be able to demolish a building quite easily, right? No, actually, I think Miyashita Park got out really easy. Why is it perfect and not adult? Why it's not adult but child stage? Isn't it more potent like that? Even if you say if it's problem with diplomacy, based how I see it, it's seem that it doesn't even make a sense. I don't mind people making the level down to child stage..."
"If you ask me," Freya chimed in "I agree that it should have been stronger instead. Limit it to child stage. Adult stage alone should have been able to wreck quite the damage. Either it's because Digivices fought against the influence, or they're working limiters from top down... but I won't buy it if you said there is a back dealing or some sort of diplomacy... if anything, it felt like an invitation to create chaos. Why must it be perfect? What's the use in real world? I can't seem to fathom it the slightest."
Yet the Floramon does not sound adamant in her opinion. It's almost like she's trying to make sense of everything. It might be a cynical view, but seem to be well justified after what happened to Golden Week.
"When it comes where our peace is shattered... I hope our organization will be up to the task," Karin solemnly answered. "...It's hard to imagine what would happened if this blue city got... razed in war... I don't want that. It's only been a little while, but I came to like this city. When people fought, the city scold them like a mother would, and then they would make up. There are obviously disagreements, there are obviously discontent, but even so, the city encouraged everyone to talk it out."
Inventing Ys style... what a strange person. Then again, there is already KIZNA style, maybe it'll catch up with the mass eventually... perhaps. Then again, KIZNA style looks more like the city's military, so... mayhaps Amelie had a point?
"Well that looks great, should I try too I wonder?" Karin wondered out loud. Despite so, she's already doing it anyway. How does she ends up looking? Her sweater is deep red, almost wine colored, while her vest is thin, pink colored with blue brooch. She looked more mature with jeans and glasses... but after looking at her reflection...
"Hmm, a bit formal for me, maybe I should just stick with my cat parka and stuff."

It seemed like the two had finally found some common ground regarding this whole deal. Who'd have thought! But it seemed like, at least for now, the two girls agreed on something for a change.
"I think that, in an ideal world, digimons should have their evolutions limited to either Baby II or Child, if you ask me. And then, if they prove they can behave, maybe they can acquire special 'permits' to further evolve. I think that Digimons could make great contributions to human societies, but I'm unsure of whether times are up for such a task. Strict regulations and a fair bit of advanced technology are needed. They're not impossible to acquire, yet the question remains... is the government gonna do it? That's probably the most pressing concern we have regarding it, even if personally I wouldn't mind such an outcome."
Would such a thing be able to happen before a situation like the one of the Golden Week happened once more? Amy genuinely doubted it, but keeping hope up was what counted, right? In any case... "I too want to improve Human-Digimon relationships when able. I think it's a common trait among us, city-builder folk, and a very fitting one at it. It's a good thing to find like-minded individuals, in all honesty."
A pensive expression took over the brunette's features, however. She seemed to be fairly puzzled at Karin's comments. "Why would anyone want to wage war with Ys, though? I don't think that you're on nobody's sights, and you mostly mind your own business or strictly beneficial causes. It'd take one gigantic faux pas, or messing with the wrong people for something like that. I don't see anything like that happening any time soon."
That also meant that any kind of war took second place in the face of something supremely more important. Fashion! Currently, both Karin and Amelie were donning outfits that were more fitting for a catwalk than for a casual gathering! Logically, that only meant that the taller girl enveloped the shorter girl in a side hug while focusing her camera on the two! "Now, smile!"
Thus, a rather sudden selfie was taken. Once the hug was broken, the blonde's questions would be addressed "I think that the outfit looks good on you! I think you could be the very face of Ysian fashion. Wouldn't that be great? Everyone loves models!" Except other models, maybe. But that was a small detail. "I have a friend that wants to be a fashion designer. Maybe I could get her here and we could begin something great. I'm sure it'll be a worthwhile endeavor!"
The fashion sense of the Digital World was kinda bad, anyway. A fresh face wouldn't hurt!

"That is indeed ideal," Karin agreed. "Hell, I wouldn't be opposed to it the slightest. Another thing that KIZNA wanted to do is a bigger platform compared to Tamernet... something like a netspace, a neutral ground where we can build a semi-digital field, where human and Digimon can interact with freely. However, the technology to do that.. at the moment I don't think it's plausible to do. But... With help of scholar that understood theories about imaginary space, or space in between Digital World and Real World... there might soon be a way to realize that."
"That's why KIZNA is for the moment is very much into looking for academician, and building interest in our team about digital world planar theory," Freya added. "So far there are several budding interests... Speaking of which we're also slowly building school and various other education based facilities on the northern district."
Why would anyone wage war with Ys indeed?
"...I think we'll tell you when we're allies proper," Karin answered to that. "However without doubt, we're indeed focusing on ourselves most of all... and the development of the north. Our immediate neighbor is what we're caring for. But yeah, I think you can meet Yuuki in like... one more hour? Would you like to come tardy or on time?" Karin asked.
Karin felt a bit awkward when it comes to camera, yet somehow her body automatically posed, like she know how to be a model.
...Come to think of it, she saw a magazine with her on the front cover once. It's not gravure thankfully, but even so she almost shouted 'who on earth is this!?' because how strangely stunning the girl in the cover was. She never really applied any make ups, and she have to admit, with the right one, she looks rather breathtaking...
...But it's such a pain in the ass.
"What a coincidence. I also have fashion designer friend. Actually, these are what he made... although it's mostly 'trial and error' he said. Most of my clothes are his custom made too, don't you think that's amazing?"
