It was hard for her to look away from Vee. She’d have to keep herself from doing much more than clench that knife. She could… jave fought them on equal footing. Or at least at the forms they were in; she could tell that there was a potency in them that surpassed her own… somehow. She’d close her eye and exhale softly before putting the knife away. How did she even get that into her hand anyways?
"....Nice to meet you too.”
She’d shake her head slowly and try to get all those flashes of pain in her mind to go away. Pain she was unable to feel; pain that had gone away and left her numb to it. She’d slowly take a seat and exhale. Or at least pretend to. Not needing to breathe made all of this really god damn difficult.
”What just cause I have a big ol house or something?”
Palicae shook her head again and rubbed at her eye; adjusting her eyepatch when the veemon said that they were used to sharing a bed. That strange but cute thought made her chuckle before she’d fiddle with her digivice.
”All right then… Lemme just show you where the room is.”
The ‘human’ stood up and wave the three of them to follow her. She’d take them upstairs into what was a rather spacious living section. There were four rooms on this floor by the looks of it, not including the bathroom and large closet that they’d pass by; she’d slide the door open and gesture in.
”Tv’s got cable, the wifi password is on the desk. Don’t worry too much about mucking up the room. The maid that helps me keep this place clean would love to actually have some work for once…”
She’d roll her eye and start to step off; she didn’t seem to be tired at all. Was she a night owl like so many of her ‘friends’? Or was there something else that was at work here? She’d roll her shoulders and mumble about getting another work out going...

With introductions out of the way, the three of them followed Palicae upstairs. While doing so, Justice took out his phone to check the time; it was 1:43 in the morning. Jeez he lost track of time. What was initially suppose to be a night of solitary for him slowly turned into a night of...dare he say comfort. After what happened with Golden Week, and painting a target on his back by threatening the director of DATS, to say that he needed a break from anything Digimon-related was an exaggeration. All this back and forth between being a college student and being a tamer was taking a toll of him.
Coming upstairs, the three were greeted to a rather nice living space, with four rooms that were unoccupied. Walking into one of them, Justice paid no mind and quickly flopped into the bed face first, practically melting into the mattress.
"Jeez, you must be really tired, Justice." Vee said.
"Well, yeah," Gummy concurred, "Specs hasn't had any sleep for two days straight being a worry wort. Wouldn't you?"
"You got a point, I suppose. I mean with what's going on right now, we gotta stay on our toes." Seeing that Justice already succumbed to the invitation of sleep, Vee slightly rolled Justice to take his glasses off and place them onto the desk. Can't have him accidentally crushing his only tool to see while sleeping now.
Palicae then reassured the two that their would be no repercussions of messing up the room, much to their relief. "Well when you put it like that, I'll be sure to make it extra messy then, lady." Gummy teased playfully. With that, the Gumdramon grabbed one of the three pillows on the bed and went into the room's closet, jumping onto the top shelf. "Alright, goodnight my doofus of a brother and red-haired pirate lady. I'll be knocking myself out now." He stretched his tail and closed the closet door.
Now there was only Vee and Pal. Vee wasn't particularly too tired, since he already had a good nap earlier. So to kill some time before he became tired, he wanted to get to know their new human friend - the one whom Justice spend a reasonable amount of time with tonight.
"Sooo..." he began, taking a seat onto the edge of the bed. "What are your thoughts on my tamer? He wasn't too broody wasn't he?"

Pal was grateful that everyone here seemed to want a break from digimon related stuff, heck even the digimon seemed to be up for it. She was glad that they were like that and even if she had a little bit of an edge seeing that veemon… She’d rub at her neck and give the others a glance. It was amusing that Justice could flop into bed like that… Without even getting the sheets in a better position. She’d chuckle and shake her head.
”Well I can’t blame him. The beds are comfortable.”
They were certainly more comfortable than her bed which she hadn’t slept in for… Two? Three weeks now? It was hard for her to get used to this and she’d fold her arms as she watched them interact. She’d snort a bit and give a small wave to the gumdramon.
It left just the two of them alone. Well alone for the most part and… Then well… She’d fold her arms and frown slightly. Was he too broody? No. He was… She’d rub at the back of her neck. He was straightforward and she kind of liked that. Not many people were like that even if they lied a little bit. Saying they weren’t tired, then being tired, being hungry. Someone who couldn’t feel either of those would want to focus on someone else.
”He wasn’t too broody. Had a habit of trying to push off he was tired or hungry. So I guess a little frustrating.”
She’d shrug a bit and turn to leave the room. If vee wanted to follow she would continue to talk with him but she wasn’t going to disturb the rest of the other two too much…
”If you want to keep talking I’m going downstairs to watch some TV. If not there’s a computer in the room across the hall if you want to browse something.”
With that pal would go downstairs and do exactly that. She didn’t even look tired or stressed. Even though in essence she was both… Tired of this body that needed nothing and stressed about the enormity of the situation. Just how was she supposed to compete when her body didn’t tire?! It wasn’t fair to the others...

Vee gave a sigh of relief when Palicae reassured that Justice wasn’t all that broody, only brushing off the fact that he was hungry. “Yeah, he has a habit of doing that a lot,” he admitted. “It’s mainly because he has difficulties balancing out what he does everyday and being a Tamer. Believe me, every time I tried to ask him to take a break, he just waves off and says ‘give me a minute’. Only for that minute to turn into two hours.”
Vee glanced at his sleeping Tamer, who was now drooling. “It’s really amazing how he does it. One day he’s a busy-wart trying to not fall behind with his school, the next day he’s chillin’ and relaxing in the Digital World. He definitely needs a break if you want my two bits on it. All this stress is slowly getting to him.” He hopped off the bed, smiling at the red-haired human. “But luckily he has us to yank him out of that feeling, and now you too I think.”
Hearing that Pal was going downstairs to watch T.V. and beckoning him to join him if he wanted, the Veemon shook his head. “Thanks. I would like to but...” he began to yawn. “...but I’m a bit worn out like these two, so I’m gonna hit the hay. Though we can talk plenty tomorrow at breakfast, assuming if you’re making it since we’re all guests~”
As the human went downstairs, Vee climbed on the desk and flipped the light switch off. He got into the bed, setting the blankets onto Justice and himself, and snuggled up to him, making sure his horn on his nose didn’t accidentally impale his Tamers. Wouldn’t want him to wake up with a flesh wound. Contrary to what he told Pal, Vee kept awake for a little while, relishing the sounds and smells of the new environment he was in, which only continued to confirm that this was like a second home or something.
Imagine that: all three of them living with their new human friend in this beautiful house. Would that be a dream come true.
