As expected, Driftermon's descent into the Swimmon school produced mixed reactions. Some were of fear, and while those there was no outwardly hostility towards the aberration, Amelie knew when she wasn't wanted in a particular place. Maybe they could approach this by talking with the fish that had been courageous enough to jump into the ship.
So, Driftermon began to exit the water, slowly and harmlessly floating back to the Diplomat's deck. Once there, it undid the spirit evolution, returning back to being just Amy. Would she arrive in time to listen to the Swimmon's tale? Chances were that she wouldn't, yet she hoped her peers would put her up to speed regarding the situation. In any case, there wasn't a lot she could say in this given situation; as far as she was aware, this Ocean King could or couldn't be Leviamon, yet he managed to instill terror in the meeker digimon of the area.
Actually, that did give her an idea of something to ask. "This Ocean King you talk about. You are escaping from him, right? Then that should mean that either he tends to lurk in these waters or that he swimming in this direction?" Whether he was Leviamon or not, that didn't matter; a digimon big and strong enough to sow terror in these agitated currents must undoubtedly be related to her in some way or another. An agent, perhaps? Chances were that if he was swimming towards this location, they'd find soon enough.

It didn't matter how much ego these Swimmon had. As soon as a sweeter version of bread was mentioned, Ryouta had their attention hook, like, and sinker. The first Swimmon excitedly hopped up to his feet, cheering, "Yes, yes!" Then another hopped onboard. And another. And another still. The Swimmon at the front of the pack still kept to the waters, stubbornly racing one another in circles around the ship, but by now the grand majority were hopping atop the ship in hopes of getting Ryouta's secret stash. It was to the point where the ship was starting to tip. It wasn't severe enough of an imbalance for the ship to topple over, but the timbers were definitely starting to groan in protest.
Most of the questions were about the Ocean King. The Swimmon who first took to the ship opened its beak to speak, the rest of the mob instead looking up expectantly at Ryouta. "He's one of those big tentacle-y thingies. Like your friend, but not. He's like . . . like . . . a Gesomon! Yeah!" The Swimmon all started to pale at this description, and soon more of them started to pipe up with further descriptions.
"And instead of claws, he has more faces."
"And when he gets angry, his face glows light blue, and he gets really fast."
"We've never really seen all of him, either."
"Yeah! We just see those huge jaws break out from the waves, and then all the tentacle-mouths."
Needless to say, when Zachary asked if the Ocean King was a threat to them, the Swimmon were all too quick to nod in the affirmative. "He came into our home one day and started gobbling us up, one by one," the lead Swimmon said. "We don't know where he came from, or why. But he hunted us down one by one until we fled our reef. And then he started tearing it to bits! I think he was looking for more of us to hunt."
At the mention of swimming, the lead Swimmon shook his head. "He stopped chasing us when we fled. But just in case, we've been swimming ever since," he explained. "A nice angel told us if we kept on swimming, and kept on swimming, until we were the best we could be, we might have a chance of fighting him off and taking our home back. So we've been swimming ever since." Or, at least, they were swimming until the promise of cookies was brought up. A few cast guilty looks back at the water . . . but maybe they could afford a little snack break.
Was there anything else strange afoot? They thought for a second, but soon a little Swimmon at the end of the pack perked up. "People have been kinda mean around here lately, too," the little Swimmon added. "And the water's a lot more empty than most days. It's like all the ocean Digimon are hiding or something. The cave Digimon shoo us away or snap at us. The island Digimon tell us not to get near their islands. It's all just way too quiet.
You think the storms are making people cranky?"

Looks like fishing them cookies might be a rather bad idea after all, but hey, this is why Infini-store is such a boon. Ryouta got enough for ALL of these crowd. How is that possible? Well let's just say he got really obsessed in making the best possible cookies as the answer for his entry to cooking schools. There are of course more than just cookies, but he pretty much baked enough.
"Alright, everyone, please distribute your weight evenly! Make two lines, one on this side, and one at the other side! After you received your cookie bag, please return to the water..." then he looked at the Swimmon that was first on the deck. "Except you I guess. We still have more question for you if you don't mind, but here anyway..."
Ryouta and Valt then proceed to distribute the cookies bag. Each bag got about twenty cookies inside. They're soft, crunchy, and sweet. Not too sweet, but there are slight salty taste that compliments the sweetness of it. They're mixed, vanilla and chocolate. The vanilla one is more to traditional cookie, while the chocolate one felt more like brownies.
"So the Ocean King might be...?" Ryouta asked Valt, to which he nodded.
"Most likely Marine Devimon."
Looking like Gesomon, more face... yeah, sounds like Marine Devimon. "Either way, that sounded like what we feared. The storm might indeed the cause... but I'm a bit amazed that you all not quite affected..."
"...Perhaps," Valt raised a hypothesis "Envy permeates to those who prefers to be solitary, or at least sheltered themselves from outsiders?"
"Perhaps... Or maybe they have unified goal, therefore it become a ward."

The Swimmon were actually able to share more detail-- and luckly they could talk clearly when they were no longer in a frenzy school of panic. Zachary listened as they tried to describe the Ocean King who had scared them out of their homes and gobbled up others of their kind. Ryouta mentioned how it sounded like a Marine Devimon from the sound of it. That was Zachary's first guess too... however, he had his doubts. He had seen a Marine Devimon card in Starmon's card shop and one in Terminus. The descriptions of multiple faces didn't seem to match up even for a sea-type Digimon. " I don't know... I seen a Marine Devimon and that description doesn't really fit..." Zachary said as he pondered. He slowly began to go through his card collection he had in his pocket. " Hold on..." (Card reference is kind of for plot since he wants to show the picture to Swimmon.) Meanwhile, Panthermon was tempted by the little Swimmon near the deck. He sniffed-- his stomach starting to grumble. " Panthermon!" Zachary warned, seeing the leer of the cat. " Does this ship has a galley or something please before I loose my mind..." the cat groaned, needing the energy. After he shooed away his hungry cat, now not the poised warrior he usually was, Zachary smiled as he found it. " A-ha!" Zachary now held a very strange Deep Savior digimon card of a scary looking Digimon that looked like something out of H.P. Lovecraft. Like the Swimmon described, he had a series of tentacles and a face like an octopus. What made it stand out was that not only its limbs were like a face, but 'eyes' were on its shoulders-- as if it had multiple 'faces'. A 'Dagomon' it was called. Taking the card, he knelt down to the Swimmon as close as he could and held up the card to it so it could see the picture. " Did he look like this? " he offered, perhaps hoping if they could I.D. the Digimon, it would make fighting it off a whole lot easier.

Now that she could actually hear, Amelie listened attentively to what the Swimmon had to say. The Ocean King looked like a Gesomon, but... instead of claws, he had more faces. That one seemed easy enough! It was, in fact, one of the writer's most iconic digimon. She listened to their struggle, and about how they had been evicted from their home from this force. It was overall, a very sad episode; the brunette could definitely empathize with the school, and would be sure to try and help them once this journey was over... unless the Sea King was linked to Leviamon as well. That'd be like killing two birds with one stone.
Would this angel be related to Ophanimon in some way? Would they be Ophanimon herself? The Swimmon's critical lack of information and their nature as admittedly not very bright fish was a mild inconvenience, but still, some valuable information had been extracted from them. That was admittedly more than what she could ever ask for. Once everyone had said their piece, Amy first looked at the Swimmons. "Would you say that the storms are more intense from the direction you come from. If so, mind if we advance in that direction? Not to be disrespectful or anything, but your school is kinda blocking our advance. I don't know if this ship is capable of carrying you all, but I wouldn't mind having the extra help if you want to come aboard. We have lots of cookies to offer as well."
After that comment, she proceeded to look at both Zachary and at Ryouta, her face the image of amusement mixed with a small amount of puzzlement. "No offense, guys. But... y'all are drowning in a glass of water, you know? Gesomon, but with mouths instead of claws isn't any of the fancy digimon you're referring to." For suspense, she made a small pause. "It's just Gesomon X. One of the ugliest critters I have seen in my life, by the way. Those things are freaking gross."
Hopefully, that'd solve the problem of whatever they were fighting's identity. At the very least, Amelie was fairly sure that her guess was way closer to the bullseye than anything said before. Chances were that it wasn't a normal Gesomon X, but that was fine. She had experience with abnormal water critters as well.

The Swimmon seemed to be listening to Ryouta, at least. At the mention of two lines they divided into two even piles, the weight of the ship balancing back out. The deck groaned in relief as it could finally straighten itself again. Unfortunately, the second those piles tried to arrange themselves into lines, all hell broke loose. Immediately the Swimmon turned on each other, flailing their fins and their tails as they tried to cut to the head of the line.
"I was the fastest! I get first dibs!"
"Yeah? Then how am I in front of you?"
"Well, I'm so strong, I could just knock you guys in the water and take it all for myself."
"Not me! I'm the biggest one here."
"Too bad. I deserve it the most. I'm the most handsome of them all."
Immediately the Swimmon stopped squabbling, looked at the handsome one, and threw him overboard. It shook a fin in anger as it tried to hop back aboard, but by then the others were back to their self-directed feeding frenzy. At this rate, would any of them even have time to eat cookies before the interrogation was over?
At least the first Swimmon to hop onboard was keeping sane. Maybe that was because he was already at Ryouta's feet, and therefore had easy access to all the cookies he could want. He tore into the bag like a piranha on a cow carcass, occasionally giving "mm-hmms" of affirmation at Ryouta, Zachary, and Amelie debated the nature of the Ocean King.
At mention of the Gesomon X, its eyes widened in shock. Its jaw dropped, leaving crumbs of cookie tumbling out of its mouth. "Yeah! Yeah, I think that's the Ocean King," the Swimmon said. "It's the one that's got mouths on its tentacles, right? That has to be it. And trust me, if you think it's gross now, wait until you see one tearing your home apart." It shuddered, and the mention of this finally got the other Swimmon to stop squabbling. At least with them quieting up, cookie distribution would be so much easier.
It nodded along as Amelie mentioned the storms. "There was a storm just approaching when we were leaving, yes," the Swimmon said. "It came right behind the Ocean King, as if it was bringing the storm with it. While we were swimming away we saw lightning strike the seas, and spikes of ice rise right out of the water. Why would you ever want to go that wa-"
Immediately, the Swimmon hushed itself, before breaking out into a big smile. "I, uh. I mean, thanks, brave heroes! For helping us save our home!" it added, as if realizing it was just about to scare away potential helping hands. "We can help lead the way, if you want. That should help stop you guys from getting lost. What do you say, guys? Are we helping?"
The Swimmon were finally gnawing on their cookie packs, perfectly content. ". . . Okay, they'll help later. But come on, let's set sail!" the Swimmon cheered.

Hmmm, drats, he thought it was Marin Devimon due to how it sounded unlikely it's a normal adult... but if it's perfect stage instead that makes sense... even so, isn't that a bit too weak? Eh well whatever. What's more important is to deal with the Swimmons for the meantime. Ryouta smiled wryly under his mouthpiece mask. "Right, no one takes more than one bag. Behave or you will not get any!" Ryouta reminded.
He might probably toss some extras when he finished with this job. Hopefully the squabbles are just merely a little fun, and less of it being about being affected by Leviamon.
Ryouta took his D-Nexus out. "...Miss Saboro, should we contact the captain?" the captain here is obviously Ofanimon. But without a doubt they already know where they should be going. After all, the storm and the ice was a dead giveaway. And thankfully, it's seem that the Swimmons wanted to help... albeit apparently for the first time, the one who was on the deck first wasn't even sure why on earth they're going.
...What? Can't people be good samaritans now and then?
"Valt, are you fine in water combat?"
"No problem. EV Suit plus Swimming Gear should do the trick."

Zachary felt a bit defeated again as he pocketed his cards again. Panthermon was trying to ease his upset stomach and at least was not within sight of the Swimmon-- probably for the best since they would likely be unease by a giant drooling jungle cat looming over them. Besides that, Zachary and Panthermon had a code about fighting or destroying digimon-- never delete those with a tamer unless it was necessary, or those whom could talk and were not threats to them. Still, Zachary felt new and clearly had no clue about this 'Gesomon X' was. He was not an idiot-- he knew what a Gesomon was. A giant squid like Digimon, but X? That went over his head fast. " Hold on a second... Gesomon X? What does the X stand for?" Zachary asked, " Is there something I am missing here cause last i checked Gesomon didn't have those features before. " It appeared he had no clue what the X Antibody was, or if it was common knowledge. Something that someone might need to fill him in on. In the meantime, he witnessed as the Swimmon bickered among themselves playfully, trying to get to the food given. THey didn't seem as dangerous as he initially thought now that he could see them up close, despite the sharp teeth. It seemed now they did know where they needed to go. No matter what enemy it would be, no way Zachary was going to hesitate to not help them. Taking back the Swimmon's home was as good a reason as any. Even when they tried to talk them out of it briefly " Well I got no complaints. I'm sure Panthermon wouldn't either-- after he is feeling better." " Grrrothgg...!" the cat coughed up somewhere on the ship. Zachary tried to keep a poised expression despite the embarrassment he was experiencing from his sea-sick partner. Hopefully whatever this creature was, it would be something they could handle.

All's that well ends well, more or less! The Swimmon had provided them with a valuable source of information; more or less, they had confirmed Ofanimon's rumor regarding the gigantic Gesomon guarding the southern islands, and the encompassing sheets of ice that followed it. Whether this was a sign of Leviamon's growing sphere of influence, or of something else... that's what they'd have to find out.
Amy watched as the fishes ate their cookies; were they trustworthy? While they looked like simpletons, appearances could deceive, yet, overall, the group had little to lose while chasing this clue. When a digimon like this one also happened to be abnormally big, that must be for a reason, right? She thought about it and what that entailed for some moments, all while observing whether Panthermong was ready for them to resume their voyage or not. He seemed like he wasn't, but... time was of the essence in a situation like this one. After a nod, she finally spoke. "Seems like we've made our mind. Let's check out what that Gesomon is about; chances are we'll find some clues about Leviamon's whereabouts on our journey there."
Right afterward, the brunette gazed at Ryouta. "Tell Ofanimon that we're after the Gesomon that guards the southern islands in hopes of finding more info about Leviamon. We don't know how chasing that lead will end, but I think it's our best bet and uncovering this mystery." Whether the angel decided to join them in the pursuit of this digimon or decided to keep on searching on her own, that was her decision. Maybe she had found some clues she wanted to investigate on her own, and that was fine as well. Amy had plenty of confidence in her crew's ability to pull ahead, regardless Ofanimon accompanying them or not.
"No time to lose, then. Prepare to resume course! We're following the Swimmons!" And, after a small pause, looked at the fish that had assumed the role of 'leader'. "Lead the way; we'll be right behind you."

By now, most of the Swimmon had taken their bags of cookies, devoured them, and dove into the water without any further fuss. About half of the school took a look at the ship, did an about face, and resumed swimming away. The other half fell in step with the ship, swimming inpatient circles around it as they waited for Amelie to get the ship in motion. Finally, the lead Swimmon hopped back into the water, thrashing his tail to get the attention of his fellows. "Alright!" he shouted, straining his voice to be heard over the chattering of his fellow Swimmon. "Boat people, other Swimmon, follow me! I'll get us back to our reef in no time." With that declaration, he hopped high into the air to signal he was ready, then took off in a heedless charge.
The ice was the first sign that something was off. At first it wasn't anything too noticeable, perhaps a few scattered crystals causing the water to shimmer more than usual. However, shimmers quickly gave way to chunks, and the further Amelie, Zachary, and Ryouta sailed the larger these chunks became. The metallic scoop at the front of the ship did wonders to crush these smaller sized chunks, but how long would it be before they started finding chunks that could do some real damage?
The storming didn't help matters. Hard rain battered down on the ship like a machine gun, and the waves were hitting high enough for water to splash onto the deck of the ship. Thunder clapped and lightning flashed with increasing frequency, loud enough to drown out any attempts at speech. It was no longer a distant phenomenon, either: as the group sailed past a particularly large chunk of ice, lightning crashed down and splintered it into thousands of pieces. If the ship's navigators weren't on the ball, icy shrapnel would embed itself right into the hull!
By now, navigation had to be getting hard. And unfortunately, proper navigation was exactly what the trio needed right now. A Swimmon hopped up, shouting "Look out!" before promptly scattering away from the ship. Its fellows followed, swimming to the left and right as if trying to get as far from the ship as possible. If anyone looked up, they would quickly see the reason why.
A massive ball of ink hurtled down from the sky, as if it had been launched out of a trebuchet. It landed right in front of the ship, in a perfect position to crush the Swimmon had they not already sailed out of the way. While this direct attack had missed, it kicked up a massive wave in its wake. Water and ink gushed onto the deck in thick torrents, and the murky black liquid billowed through the water in wispy clouds. Judging from the distance the Swimmon were keeping they did not want to touch it, but at least it didn't seem to be causing any damage to the ship's hull.
Unfortunately, the other balls of ink hurtling from the sky could. If one was to watch the skies, they would notice another three balls coming shortly after the first landed. Would the crew of the Diplomat be able to navigate through without being shelled, or were they in for a pounding?

Their destination was set as the Swimmon agreed to lead them to the place where this Sea King would be hiding. They soon followed with the ship leading the way towards stormy waters.
The sea began to grow rougher, from frozen ice in the waters, slowly caking more among their route and the thunder and rain now beginning to bare down on them. Zachary quickly put his hands into his jacket pocket for warmth and huddled the hood up over his head. He put on his goggles, allowing him to see better in the violent storm. Sadly, Panthermon couldn't do much as the rain battered him. He had recovered from the sea-sickness, but he still felt miserable as the cold rain assaulted the cat.
"Does the Digital World hate me or something?!" Panthermon roared angrily, "First being seasick and now getting me all wet! I swear, I'm gonna turn whoever is causing these storms into a freaking scratching post."
Zachary shook his head from the sour-puss' attitude as he looked to the others. "So do we have an actual plan here, cause this sounds like a foe I never heard of before. What makes this thing different from your garden variety Gesomon?" he asked.
As the ship rocked and gave Panthermon more grief-- it was then the shout from the Swimmon shouted over the roar of the storm.
At first, Zachary thought it was just a black storm cloud, but it grew larger and came faster with the Swimmon's warning. The first one crashed into the water, and made the Swimmon scatter. Clearly the ink was bad, and Zachary could already tell what that ink was. As the water washed up and caused more grief for them... thee more were incoming , one likely to hit the ship if nothing was done.
Despite his pain, Panthermon growled and jumped up to the group. "That does it!!" he roared angrily, his ears now up in alarm.
As they realized the danger, Zachary's Digivice suddenly flashed to life in his pocket, the light so strong it shined out from its cover.
"Panthermon Digivolve to..." He roared as a brilliant violet light engulfed him and spun with data, taking shape inside the 'egg' of energy. Finally, it erupted with a flap of fiery wings. Panthermon now stood there, larger, with magic armor along his body and two flaming wings that showed his emerged form. "... Mytholomon!!"
It happened too fast as the enlarged jaguar with wings roared up at the incoming blob of ink about to hit.
Despite the raging rain and wind, Mytholomon let out a fierce jaguar's cry and raised his wings. Suddenly a 'magic circle' appeared below him-- and surrounding the front of the ship. The ink would come down-- but splat against a suddenly transparent veil of energy in the shape of a dome. Mytholomon used his Arcane Barrier-- creating a powerful shield against enemy attacks. While limited, the shield upheld against one of the assaulting ink blasts and water resulted in it, protecting the area of the deck the circle encompassed.
So long as Zachary and the others were within the shield, they were safe from the ink-- but still, a relentless onslaught wouldn't hold long against it...
A sigh escaped Zachary in relief as he realized his partner acted in time."Thanks, Mytholomon. That was a close call..." Zachary asked.
"Don't thank me yet..." the large panther growled as he sounded strained to hold the barrier up. "I'm still low on energy from this fantastic boat ride. Either someone get me some food or I won't be able to hold this form and shield for long."
OOC Notes: With the assault of the ink in the already hellish storm, Panthermon wills himself to Digivolve and becomes Mytholomon. He uses Arcane Barrier to protect against the Ink attack *max damage absorbed is champion* with a 2 post cooldown.
Mytholomon is weakened from sea sickness and needs food . Please feed him or risk of him dedigivolving mid fight?

Everyone was ready to set sail once again; the group was, once again advancing towards the Gesomon's location. It was amazing how something like a small amount of food was able to convince a good deal of the Swimmons to push forward, even though Amy herself wasn't going to complain about that. They were nearing their quarry's location; that much was obvious, considering how the ice around them began to thicken and expand.
The final cue? A round of disgusting ink shots that began to bombard their vessel; no doubt, this had to be the work of a malevolent and ugly squid. Action seemed like the only thing left now, even if they had to proceed with caution.
"Port bow! Port bow! We're under fire!" The brunette exclaimed while turning the ship sharply in order to make the Diplomat a harder target for the Gesomon. "There's an unconfirmed number of enemies ahead, prepare to engage!"
Their situation was far from optimal, but what they had to do was pretty straightforward, at least on Amy's mind. "Ryouta, tell the Swimmons to remain at a safe distance, and send Valt as a scout! We need to pinpoint the enemy's location and any details about the environment surrounding them before committing into the fight, but make sure he doesn't stray too far." And, after a small pause, she added. "Be ready to take the helm at any moment! I'm evolving as soon as we're engaging!"
Zachary and Panthermon-now-Mytholomon were doing a good job at deflecting some of the projectiles heading their way, even if the group seemed to be struggling in more than one front. Time to fix that, right? Unceremoniously, she tossed a spare bag of cookies she had gotten to the human. "Take care of your cat! We can't have starving combatants in a life-or-death situation. I have more important stuff to do than meeting an untimely end at the hands of a freak of nature of all things."
Her tone had been serene, yet commanding the whole time. Thus far, the young woman had demonstrated that she was in her element when doing this kind of thing. But... would that be enough? It was a good thing that she barely had any time to feel any measure of self-doubt.

Aye, talk about a lot of dangers. And in time like this, will everything hold on? Ryouta doesn't have time for explanation sadly, or more like he doesn't know what's the difference between regular Digimon and X Digimon, because at times the lines blurred. Is it just same Digimon, or is it stronger by a bit or by a stage? No one knows. He quickly used call function on D-Nexus. Considering it's pretty much phone, hopefully Ofanimon would answer quickly... if not, he'll just leave a message. "We might find a clue that's related to Leviamon and is currently attacked by what we assumed to be Gesomon X who is guarding southern islands. The details match exactly with what you said in briefing, mainly pertaining to ice. There are quite huge number of it over here. We'll resume the report once the situation stabilized somewhat!" Then he looked at the Swimmon. "Swimmons, prioritize your safety! Follow us while making sure you're in safe distance from the ship!" He then moved toward the steering wheel, just in case Amelie pass the role of sailing master to him. Ryouta then nodded at Valt, who immediately exploded into data particles, which then rendered by golden ring of light that rapidly changes his form. The last part reveals the sight of Ulforce Vdramon X. "Valt, you know the direction. Keep on contact, try to not fight it alone and report whatever you seen ahead, do you copy?" "Yes, Aniki. Everyone, be careful!" Valt quickly took flight. His goal is to find the source of this, obviously... But he know he might have to tangle with those inks... Immediately, he activated his Ulforce programming, veiling him in blue light that protects him against negative status effect while at the same time healing him. He attempted to slash at one of the ink ball with his Ulforce Saber, see if there are any properties inside of it. Volleys thankfully are rather easy to trace back if you have aerial view. He hoped that he'll soon find the source and what's ahead...

Ink splattered across the bow of the ship in great, gushing torrents. Thankfully Mytholomon's barrier had taken all the force out of the assault. What once threatened to cave the ship inwards was now little more than a slippery inconvenience painted all over the ship's sides. The deck, mercifully enough, had been spared. Valt was on point to stop a second ball of ink, slicing it cleanly in half. It lost all shape as it was cut up, ink harmlessly raining down into the waves below.
The last ball of ink landed to the ship's sides again, creating a large, blackene waves that washed over the deck. A few Swimmon, caught up in the tides, were sent spiraling above the ship as each wave pounded down. While none of this had been enough to damage the ship's hull, the waters were now exceptionally rough and choppy. Attempts at steering the ship in any direction would be met with struggle as the seas themselves pushed back.
As all this went on, Ryouta called for Ophanimon. As soon as he opened communications his ears would be met by a burst of static. "Hello?" Ophanimon asked, voice raised. "I can barely hear you. The winds here are-" Loud howling and a high-pitched whistle interrupted her thought. "I said, the winds here are like nothing we've seen before! It's taking all my power to prevent the ice from shredding our sails.
Wait. Did you say ice, too? I need to k-"
With that question, the static stopped abruptly. Any further attempts at reaching Ophanimon, at least for the time being, would be met with silence. Ryouta would only be able to hope that she was able to hear what he was saying in the face of the winds.
That left Valt on recon duty. The first thing that he'd notice as he tore through the ink ball was that it was incredibly sticky. The Ulforce prevented it from weighing him down, but a Digimon without such protection may have found themselves slowed in midair or even stalled out entirely. And that was with the momentum of flight: what could such ink possibly do to a Digimon that couldn't fly? It was also very slippery, and were it not for the Ulforce Valt may have found his blade slipping cleanly out of his hands. Even moreso than damage to the ship, the ink's ability to rob any crew of their sea legs would be even worse.
Past the volley, Valt would notice not one but three white triangles sticking above the waves. The largest of the three dwarfed the other two, was crowned by a row of golden earrings, and had a somewhat unsettling light blue tint to its skin. The other two were a pinker shade of white, looking somewhat tattered by comparison. They could only be Gesomon X and a pair of regular Gesomon. Shortly after Valt approached the three stopped, the two normal Gesomon diving deep below the waves. A faint trail of bubbles and foam traced a path towards the ship, but it fizzled out far before visible range of the ship. Had they dove too deep to be spotted, or was this simply a feint?
Gesomon X rose instead of sinking, blood-red gums and three layers of teeth on full display as it rose to its full height. Seemingly not noticing Valt, it simply continued smashing the waters in a furor. Waves sprayed seafoam into the air each time the X-Antibody Digimon lashed out, but they didn't seem to move towards any particular target. What was it even doing?

..Well that's shitty. Ryouta looked at Amelie. "She's probably in equally bad trouble too. We're in this one alone. I tried to contact her again, but it might be that we're already too far gone for asking backup from her. Either way, we'll have to wait for Valt's report..." "Valt here," a voice from teh D-Nexus called out. The dragon has managed to slash the projectile in two. "Regardless of level, the ink is absolutely a huge disaster that you MUST NOT let touch the deck AT ANY COST. Rather than ink, it's more like oil. It's so slippery, and without doubt it'll cause problem down the road. I saw three signs of Digimon. Two is heading to the ship! I'm going to engage with the third one. it's the one causing the waves. Be careful, VERY CAREFUL!" "You heard him," Ryouta told Amelie. "I'm going to hold the ship. Swimmons! Normal Gesomons heading your way, as much as possible, stay calm and together! Evacuate in orderly manner!"
Valt meanwhile squinted. He better announces his presence. Spreading his wings, the Ulforce Vdramon focused power on his arm, then gathered electric particles on his palm. Ball of lightning formed, crackling and volatile. He quickly launched it at the sky, to which it would rain down on the Gesomon X, three of them.
