Amelie couldn't help but smirk at Leviamon's comment. Expecting a Demon Lord, of all things, to be arrogant, was a kind of a given. They were the inflexible type, weren't they? The type that would break before bending. And while that could be worthy of respect in some situation, it tended to be pretty damn inconvenient in most.
Which, thankfully, worked well on their favor. An alliance between two or more of those would be exponentially harder to deal with than picking them one by one. For most of the digimon's speech, she remained silent, at least until she posed her terms regarding the agreement drawn towards her. Overall? It seemed to be quite... agreeable? It was hard to tell, but it seemed that things were a tad too easy. She had to repeat them on her mind a couple of times, scanning for anything that might be wrong with them, but in the end... it all seemed fine. Weird.
Deciding to get to the heart of the matter and ignoring the philosophical chatter altogether —not like she had anything further to add to Ryouta's words, mind you—, the brunette nodded. "Those are very agreeable terms. I can't speak for my colleagues, but when it pertains to myself, you can consider them most accepted. I have little reason to object to them."
However, the spanner in the works was already been found. All this time, Amy had thought that Ophanimon was within Leviamon's clutches; their whole quest had lined up perfectly to believe that was the case. But apparently, that had been an erroneous assumption. Bright side? It could be fixed pretty easily.
"We're searching for her vessel, actually." She commented, offhandedly. "It is quite curious that you don't know about that tidbit, considering how you have complete domain over the seas here." And after a small pause, she added. "Would you help us to locate it, as a gesture of goodwill? It'd be greatly appreciated; her vessel looks a lot like ours used to."
Considering that Leviamon probably would hound them regardless of where they went, playing pretend was probably the most useless thing at the moment. This would truly prove whether her offering for an alliance was more than words or not.

Is it such a strange system? Despite all of the qualms Leviamon had with her cycle, she sounded genuinely puzzled by Ryouta's observation. All that is within this world renews. Data is broken down and reconstructed into new form. Code is cleansed and refreshed, giving its bearer a new lease on life. Digimon cycles. The world cycles. I cycle.
Nevertheless, he seemed to be understanding the intricacies of this system. Leviamon laughed, quietly at first but intensifying to an uproar that shook Ilbert's walls. You are correct. To be a Demon Lord is to surrender yourself to something far greater and far lesser than what you once were, she explained. You may believe that you remain yourself, but you become forever part of a whole. Your mind will be touched by the thoughts of a thousand others, and you always leave something behind. And such is where I stand, the aggregate of a thousand cycles and the progenitor of a thousand more. To splinter my consciousness would be to kill the me that exists. Though perhaps if such a fate would give me peace . . . She cut herself off, a low snarl echoing through the air. Bah. The thought of what I'd miss alone leaves me fuming.
Knowledge wasn't the only thing gained from this little excursion. An alliance, however shaky, had also been forged. Leviamon growled contentedly at Amelie's agreement to her terms. Then it is settled. Consider the next Demon Lord to cross us in for quite the unpleasant surprise, she said. A smile could practically be felt within her voice. Although, you say Ophanimon comes within a vessel similar to yours? Strange . . . I'm certain I've seen another, yet it seemed to be crewed by an ordinary human.
Silence hung in the air. Oh.
For a while the oceans began to simmer. Was Leviamon that furious over being made a fool out of? However, they quickly started to calm, pulsating like deep, soothing breaths. I can show you to where I last saw this vessel. Yet in exchange for this act of goodwill, I must ask you to trust me in turn. A red tail shot from the sheets of ice below, swirling in surprisingly rapid circles. The glacial sheets shattered into pieces, turning into a swirling maelstrom in just a matter of minutes. Shards of ice the size of a Rookie and waves that towered to the height of Champions began to swirl about one another, although with each cycle the severity of these hazards started to die down. I am churning the seas themselves to grant you passage. Think of it as an underwater tunnel of sorts, with the eye of the maelstrom as its entrance. Now, do not dawdle: I do not offer such efforts lightly.

"It is," Ryouta answered. "Sure I'm aware of what happened in general system of Digimon rebirth... yet in your case, the system is self predating. You all cannot work together without what sin you stands for gating you from truly working with one another. Despite calling one another brother or sister, it felt more like a dysfunctional family who keeps their feud for eternity, and backstabbings at it. For you all, probably because you're so used to it, you only hold grudge rather than outright wages war against one another... but for me, it's a strange system. Almost as if it's a system with double security to ensure that each demon lords won't cause catastrophic destruction that might calls forth the elusive Royal Knights unless it's the right time."
...What a strange being. But either way, looks like he hits nail on the head... Yet whether she truly wanted to be free or not, that's questionable. Indeed, she would cease to exist... yet at the same time, this unflattering existence... malice and sin gathered in one spot like a black hole... it's a wonder that someone could stay functional. Yet, he guess why Leviamon and the rest retained their 'ego' is simply because the original individual that formed the current Leviamon has merged with countless other consciences.
...Existing and not... it's a concept that hurts his head.
Part of Ryouta shuddered when Leviamon tail came out... that's... that's indeed terrifying... Either way, to trust her or not is it?
"Is there even any other option? Trust or not who cares. I'll bite. All hands prepare for dive. If you disagree, get out. I'll give you ten seconds, or open a portal yourself, I don't care," Ryouta answered bluntly. "Valt, get back here, we're diving!"
"Roger!"
The compartment temporarily opened, enough for Valt to come inside. The Ulforce Vdramon X flapped his wings to dry himself off. Immediately after, Ilbert dived in to the whirlpool.

This philosophical debate over the nature of the Demon Lords and the negotiations felt like they could go on forever. While Zachary hoped that Leviamon was indeed honest and meaning what she said, many of her facts were in what Zachary would call half-truths, and he didn't approve with his team mentioning that Ophanimon was out on the sea with them. But they were in grave danger. He had his own issues as it were, and he didn't like how things devolved between him and Ryouta. However, he wasn't going to ruin any mission over any kind of personal squabble... consciously anyway.
He wanted to believe Leviamon meant well, and out of the other demon lords, she was reasonable enough to make peace with. But this would all depend on Ophanimon when they would rescue her.
However, the appearance of the swirling watery portal caused a groan of complaint... from the only one who had not complained during this encounter.
"Not the water... anything but the water..." Mytholomon groaned, paws over his head as he tucked in his fiery wings even though the train would go through.
With the majority willing to give Leviamon a chance, Zachary would make it unanimous... but still, keep his guard up. "Okay, okay-- let's go. " Zachary urged and hanged on.
They dived rightt into the swirling vortex of dark water and ice-- with Panthermon acting like a scaredy-cat the whole time.

Overall, things were going rather swimmingly. Ryouta and Leviamon were locked in a very interesting conversation that, regrettably, none had time for. Ophanimon must have sent like thirty or so SOS calls by now, and if they hoped to reach that place before it was too late, the group had to advance with the utmost haste.
However, she couldn't avoid smirking at the fact that Ophanimon's disguise had managed to completely fool a Demon Lord, up to the point the revelation was almost dramatic. Who could have thought? She had to resist letting out a chuckle at the events unfolding, instead deciding to remind herself of how dire the situation was to settle the atmosphere. And, while a certain occupant of this car was not big on coursing through a veritable underwater wormhole, it seemed like the group had been given free pass towards their supposed destination. That much was good, at least!
"I guess everyone should just hold fast. I don't know for certain, but it seems like this trip will be quite turbulent. And be ready; if Ophanimon is struggling enough to repeatedly send us SOS messages, it means that we're probably having to jump straight into a fight as soon as we're done."
Both ends of this journey would be quite interesting. What would come out of it? They'd find out soon enough, probably.

Are they not one in the same? Leviamon asked, sounding genuinely baffled. Was it any surprise that the Demon Lords, being such sinful, proud, and powerful beings, saw a feud and outright warfare as two sides of the same coin? Wars are waged. Games are played. And then when the winner stands, the rest return in another cycle to dethrone them. Assuming, of course, that outsiders don't take advantage of their war wounds to deal the killing blow first.
That said, Ryouta's last words had clearly troubled the Demon Lord. She fell silent as he continued to speculate, and the thrashing maelstrom that was started to spread below Ilbert had only grown more intense. Inky blackness spread out from the center of the whirlpool, its abyss gazing right back at the trio.
The first breach wouldn't be easy. Even descending into the maelstrom would be downright painful for Ilbert, waves, ice, and even sand slicing across his hull. It was almost as if he was surrounded on all sides by drills. However, the initial sensation died down quickly, replaced by the soothing relief of the water on all sides. His passengers, too, would be spared the turbulence from this initial dive. With each second it became less tumultuous, until soon the ride would become perfectly smooth.
Unfortunately, the smoother the ride got, the darker it became. Clear cyan waters gave way to a deep blue color, and murky blackness followed shortly thereafter. Occasionally eyes opened up in the depths, for the most part looking like those of the Shademon that had previously crowded around Ilbert. Their blood red pupils followed the crew, staring curious at them all the while. A few others looked more like those of deep sea fish, bulbous and glassy. The largest of the eyes was nearly the size of Ilbert's window, with pitch black sclera and a sickly yellow pupil.
Shortly after these eyes were passed, the tunnel would begin to shift upwards. The soothing black depths would give way to another rocky maelstrom, leaving Ilbert banged up and his passengers once more shaken up by turbulence. Fortunately, it would be less painful going up than coming down, and soon Ilbert would be able to breach the waters with ease.
The sight that the party came across would surprise them. Ophanimon's ship was surrounded on all sides by what looked like boats made out of junk. Their hulls were made of rusted metal, hole-ridden wood, and the siding of dumpsters, yet despite their shoddy construction they floated through the water with ease. Their broadsides showered the sides of the ship with junk and sludge, pelting it on all sides but not seeming to do much damage. Despite this, a Raremon sat proudly atop the bow of the largest ship, pointing for another round of firing. His sail flowed freely, a crude drawing of him wearing a crown and flexing emblazoned on its side.
Ophanimon's ship itself had fallen eerily still, as if not even reacting to its aggressors.

Ryouta snapped his finger as if call forth attention to that exact word. "...And do you think that sort of cycle isn't miserable? Granted, it's indeed for a greater good in a sense... differences only can be united by understanding... but when understanding alone isn't enough, something of a step higher is needed... Common interest. If not common interest then a threat dwarfing individual interest. That would be your role for the outsiders. They--no, we fear your strength.
While we're shaking in our boots, for you all it's just a game of winner or loser. It's not a game of throne. It's not 'win or die'. It's just cycle of 'who is the most successful this round, and then we'll gather again and go at one another's throat again, it's the kind of family reunion that we don't want to attend, but we have to anyway'. Or at least that sounded to me. Especially the part about outsider. You don't think outsiders as a factor that is very threatening to you. Nay, you registered them as a little disturbance... a neighbor that raps your door too hard. It almost feel like 'Well, that one idiot at it again, wanna see how we can make this interesting for all of us by letting them in?'
...Seraphimon came to mind."
Either way, the turbulence does not disturb Ryouta. If anything, there's part of it that's soothing for him. Valt however is ready to spread his wings the moment they resurfaced. The moment they do, Ryouta practically slammed a button that opened all doors. Valt quickly took flight., boosters flaming, leaving a quick "I'm going ahead!" at the rest of the team.
"Shelling mode, Ilbert. We'll most likely going to do a naval battle."
"Understood, Sir," the butler answered.

The descent into the swirling maelstrom of water, ice and darkness was unnerving as it made the train rattle and shake. Zachary clung on to the railing and in his seat while Panthermon dug his claws into the cushions to keep in place, and also due to his fear of water. Growls flowed constantly like cuss words from the flaming-winged jungle cat as they traveled through the maelstrom. Zachary kept clinging hard to the railing as they descended-- and as they traveled, it smoothed out, but only became the view of the Shademon's eyes. It was everywhere outside the windows as Zachary felt the chill of it all. The constant eyes looked at them...
... but as if to pass the true middle of the limbo the tunnel took them-- one eye stood out, right out of Zachary's window that nearly made him want to faint. The massive eye, bigger than the others that had an itch black sclera and a sickly yellow pupil. He was dead center in its view, making him feel he was looking right back at death itself.
Zachary just knew who and what it was. He might be right, he might be wrong-- but it was clear he could tell who was looking at him. Leviamon itself...
After the terrifying tunnel finally came to an end, Zachary released a gasp of air, his breath caught in his lungs after the terrifying view of what he had seen. Mytholomon, had kept his eyes closed the whole time and didn't sense it over the rattling and rushing water sounds.
"Are we out yet, or are we dead yet?" Mytholomon growled, hating every second of it.
Zachary felt the sickness in his stomach pass, more from the sight of the creepy and gigantic eye-- than the actual turbulence of the passage. Recovering his sense of awareness, Zachary looked out of the window to see the scenery. They were back on the open sea, and Ophanimon's ship was in view. But not alone, as they were surrounded by a series of ships that seemed to be made of scrap metal, junk, and garbage.
"What the hell is that?!" Zachary exclaimed at the ships slinging garbage and sludge at the ship. He couldn't see Ophanimon or much of the crew, but it was clear they were in trouble.
Valt, Ryouta's partner was the first to move and took off through the open door. Zachary had no intention to sit by and let Vault or his partner take part in the first move. Still, the spark of envy burned but he tried to keep focus as he got up. "Like hell we are waiting. Mytholomon, let's go!" Zachary called.
"R-Right!" The black jaguar growled and rushed to the door. In that instant, Zachary jumped off the airborne train and his Partner followed. Unafraid, Zachary and Panthermon fell together as the giant cat spread his flaming wings. With the flap, he caught up to Zachary, who took hold of the armor on its back and swung himself onto him to ride him down.
Panthermon and Zachary flew towards the enemy ships and Ophanimon's ship, in hopes to get a clearer view of what was transpiring along with Valt. As they flew closer to the ships, Zachary gave a clear, aloud warning. "Stop this assault right now! If you don't we will fight back! This is your only warning!" Zachary shouted at the Raremon as Mytholomon got closer.
He wasn't sure if these Digimon were a part of Leviamon's forces or something else-- but either way a warning was the only thing they would get before they would risk attacking head-on from the air.

Amelie wasn’t a stranger when it came to boat-induced turbulence. This time, however? This experience was definitely on the otherworldly side of the spectrum. For one, she was glad that she wasn’t in Ilbert’s shoes; wheels? Rails? In any case, at least the trip wasn’t actively harmful to the most vulnerable members. Other than that… there was really nothing else of note.
“Considering the constant distress calls from Ophanimon, I hope everyone is ready to fight as soon as we’re on the other side.” She mentioned somewhat idly. Everyone here seemed oddly relaxed or keen on chatting with Leviamon, but the truth was that this matter was of utmost urgency, considering Ophanimon’s constant SOS messages.
But it wasn’t like the brunette would note on that; as long as everyone did their part, everything would progress smoothly; or at least that was what she liked to think.
Eventually, the group emerged into… quite the strange situation; the group was being bombarded by what veritably looked like second-rate pirates. “Is this what’s giving Ophanimon trouble? I don’t buy it.” Amy remarked after giving the panorama a quick scan. “I’ll trust in your ability to handle this situation; if it’s as paltry as it seems, you’ll be able to deal with it in no time. “I’m boarding Ophanimon’s ship.”
There was not a lot much to say regarding it; evolving was a pretty quick process, and traversing the skies into the angel’s ship should’ve been pretty simple as well, unless there were any unneeded complications.
So, what would Heraldmon find inside? Was everything okay? Would it find whatever caused this ship to become eerily silent? For now, there was no way to tell.

I do not wish to talk about this.
That was all Leviamon had to say on the matter. However, perhaps that was for the best. There was a time and a place for philosophical mutterings, and an attack against a rival pirate fleet probably wasn't either. Ryouta and Ilbert prepared their cannons, ready to rain pain on the enemy fleet as Valt flew into a flanking position. Amelie shifted back into her Digimon form, flying to Ophanimon's silent vessel to see just what was going on. And Zachary aimed for a more diplomatic approach, trying to end this fight with words before it even began.
The Raremon looked down at Zachary, harumphing slightly at the tamer. "Oi, now who's this, then?" he asked, his voice every bit as deep as his sunken-in eyes and phlegmatic as his sludgy flesh. "You're speaking to the high admiral of Leviamon's fleet, you git! And I think high admiral outranks . . . random conductor!"
"Uh, sire?" a Numemon asked, climbing onto Raremon's shoulder. In contrast to the deep, gargly-voiced Raremon, this Numemon's voice was high and scratchy. "I think that's a Mega level Digimon. Maybe we shouldn't piss it off. You know what happened the last time."
Raremon sighed in irritation, facepalming hard enough to send his facial features scattering across his head. "Fine, fine, if I bloody have to," he huffed. He turned to Zachary, rising up to his full height in an attempt at looking more intimidating. "When this vessel drifted over here, we gave it thirty seconds to identify itself. Thirty, y'see? That was generosity on my part! I'm sure you know that thirty is a lot of time. Anyway, it completely ignored us. We told it if it didn't respond, we'd blow it right out of the water. It ignored us for another thirty seconds! We fired a warning shot. It still-"
"I think they get the picture, my lord," the Numemon said. In response, the Raremon backhanded it into the water, a new Numemon crawling onto its shoulder to take its place.
"Anyway, such disrespect being shown to me had to be answered. Am I wrong?" The Raremon folded his arms. Clearly, the case was closed! For the time being, the fleet of filth continued their assault, but it was still every bit as ineffectual as its first salvo was. Heck, judging by Raremon's explanation, this was far from the first salvo! How long had they been "fighting" for?
Heraldmon would see that the ship looked completely pristine. It didn't seem to have been boarded by any other threats. In fact, it didn't seem like anybody had been on the ship in ages. The deck was covered in a thin layer of dust, seafoam sprays leaving the occasional disturbance in the otherwise still layer. The sail hung unfurled and proud, yet the wind only gave it gentle nudges in any given direction. The cabin door hung open, creaking slightly as it opened up into darkness.
"Someone there?" Ophanimon's voice, bold and defiant, came from the cabin. It sounded all too distant, yet surprisingly close.

She's not willing to talk about this, eh... Well, so be it. Now Ryouta could focus on what's ahead. The person said that they belong to the great Leviamon fleet? There's part of him that just want to press X for doubt. He instead looked above once again.
"...Is what they said true?" Ryouta asked.
At any rate, the mere conductor, eh... "....Loudspeaker, Ilbert."
"You can now speak, young master."
Ryouta headed toward the command center room of the train. From here, he could see every intel Ilbert gathers. He sat on a chair there and pressed a button to talk.
"Commander Tatsu of Combat and Assault Division of KIZNA speaking. Fleet of Leviamon, if that's what you name yourself, then know that we belonged to the same allegiance as the one you're attacking. We have entered a truce with Leviamon herself. If you do not cease your attack then we consider your allegiance to be a false one. You may ask her ladyship yourself."
Valt meanwhile just stood there menacingly. He cannot attack yet, and therefore he'll stay still for the meantime... Hopefully, they'll get their answer soon enough... Yet, something caught his attention... Why the dust? It doesn't make sense. It almost as if the time moved differently...
"...Something's not right. Even in this storm, dust accumulates? Especially with all that salvo that should have splashed it at the very least? ...Did we entered a time gap?"

Luckily as things would go, despite the orders and discussion among the crew, Raremon and his men stopped firing. Mytholomon and Zachary hovered in the space between the two ships as they listened to Raremon and Numamon exchange words, and the Raremon and his trash pile of a ship certainly wasn't inspiring much awe from Zachary beyond the smell. He tried to resist the urge to cover his nose with his jacket sleeve as they flew there. Raremon's insults made the two sour their expressions but they held their ground.
"Your first reaction to an unresponsive ship is to attack it?" Mytholomon asked with a clear sense of sarcasm to his tone, making the cat question the Raremon's intelligence. It was made out of sludge after all.
At being ask if Raremon was wrong, Zachary shook his head and Mytholomon growled. "Where do we even start..." the panther said.
At the sound of Ophanimon's voice, Zachary turned and hope to understand what was happening. The emergency signal was clear so something must have gone wrong...

The situation at hand was… quite peculiar, and that was to say the least. Once Heraldmon had boarded the ship, sensing that something was… off with it. The structure where it was currently standing on didn’t seem like a ship that had sailed not very long ago. What could’ve happened? It was hard to tell, and while the aberration’s senses failed to alert her of anything that might be going on. Ophanimon was present there, and while having doubts about her presence was a most logical consequence, the truth was that, at least for the time being… she didn’t have much of a choice.
As soon as Ophanimon exited the cabin, Amelie undid her spirit evolution. Such steps were necessary to interact with most beings, after all.
In hindsight, it will probably not be the smartest decision, but it was still a somewhat necessary step. In any case… “Yeah, it’s me, Ophanimon. We came in response to the distress signal. Is everything alright?”
There went nothing. Time to be prepared in case something strange happened.
