Well... here she finally was. Although it was far from unexpected, given that it ultimately was the last step of the advice her cherished friend had proposed, to say that Cion maintained her poise would have not been true. Neither constant contemplation, nor its antithesis of mental phlegm, had helped her in readying herself for this... simultaneous finale and proem. But, despite her innermost disquiet, she understood that this was necessary - and more than that, desired. She simply could not go on like this anymore. She needed to attain understanding, peace of mind... and perhaps a bond of affection from and for people she as yet barely knew. Sighing quietly, the unassuming ascendant in the shape of a diminutive, silver fennec stood almost motionlessly as she took in the late autumnal environment of Rosewood's adjacent glades. Not only was the essence of this place, its purpose, pure and hopeful for those whose eyes were enshrouded in despondency, but its beauty was genial. Amber and auburn leaves bedecked the dewy fields and roads - undraped trees swayed softly in the faint breeze - the dull, blue radiance of the sky was embellished with edges of gamboge and bright magenta. How something this mundane was so... captivating. Snuffling once, the restrained Arniomon noticed the air's dampness. There was no warmth or cold left to caress the body. As empty were the nearby streets of this promising piece of civilization. Until now, she was as usual - alone; a circumstance she strove to remedy for good. Gently gripping her short, green scarf, her head tilted and shifted to assure that what she had prepared was present and functional. A picnic, but of course not any for she detested half-heartedness. Besides, potentially many guests would arrive whom she intended to welcome all with an open heart. A large, circular table brimming with fine cloth, dinnerware, appetizers and beverages was the centerpiece of this area. A state-of-the-art barbecue with every conceivable type of meat, trimmings and spices resided merely a few meters away, as was a hand-held jukebox in case the wish for music and possibly corresponding activities was voiced. Though free to bring with them whatever the participants preferred, be it food or anything else, it was evident that, as it was typical, Cion had thought of practically everything - and then some. No costs nor efforts were spared, although for her it was marginal. She was, which Owen was maybe no longer aware of, immensely wealthy. Working for the by now defunct company called PROFIT had yielded outstanding remuneration. Not that it mattered today, for no consumerism was capable of mending her soul's scars. Solely she was, which was among the uncountable reasons why she lingered patiently. After innumerable, recent losses, it was upon her to conclusively create something again. Folding her arms, a heavy breath entered and eventually escaped her snub hose. Hopefully, the one she had spent two eons with, and those she hardly even knew, welcomed her contribution as she sought to do with them and theirs.

When Owen the Gaomon had received the invitation to himself and his family to attend a picnic with Cion in Rosewood, he couldn't help but freeze up a little. As he received the message, he gave a little sigh, knowing that even though they had been linked together so many times before, this time had been... a little different.
For one thing, life in this era had been different on Owen's part. Namely because somehow, things went wrong and he had been reborn about 120 years too early, knowing himself as "Jaelin" and grew to become one of the most feared soldiers of the DWR - the Digital World Republic. There, "Jaelin" had forgotten about his memories of Owen, knew his only family as his parents, Sten and Bredis, and known no love other than that of the camaraderie of his unit - the 7/71st Recon.
But since those days, the memories of "Owen" had returned, but his feelings had been changed. For one thing, he had lost most of the feelings that the old incarnation of "Owen" had experienced, and instead felt new feelings. Feelings that had made him fall in love with Hikaru the Dorumon and married him, creating a family of their own. A turn of events that he knew had hurt Cion - the digimon he had known as his sister in this life, but was a whole lot more in previous lives.
First, Owen would turn to his father for advice. Sten had resumed a place in his life now, and he seemed so excited to meet Cion that his tail wagged. "You mean I have a daughter too?!" he asked. And that was the end of the matter for him - Sten wanted to attend, so Owen would do so as well.
More complicated was telling Hikaru. He hoped his husband would understand that he merely wanted to meet up with his sister, introduce her to his family, and let her know that there was no animosity between them over how fate would turn out.
Lastly, he informed the elder of his children, asking them to come along if they wanted. Logan and Bezil did, much to his gratefulness. Haku and Jill had other responsibilities, especially if the family would be leaving Ys for Rosewood. He also extended the offer to Bu and Fuu if they wanted to come. The same to Matty and Jimmy, but he didn't receive a confirmation.
And so, on that day in Rosewood, Owen and his family arrived. The first to speak when he saw the table set up was Sten, who seemed quite delighted to meet Cion for the first time.
"Hello there! It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance!" the WereGarurumon said, as gently as possible, but the old wolf digimon still showed excitement in meeting her. "My name is Sten, and, if I have this worked out, I'm your... stepfather? I think. Am I right, Owen?"
"I think that would be accurate, dad." Owen replied, then looked to his sister. "Hi, Cion. Good to see you. Well, I got your invitation, and, here we are, this is..." My? Our? What word should he say? "...the family." he finished.
Logan and Bezil waved at Cion, glad to see their Aunt again.

That day, in the throne room, suddenly Owen came up to him regarding... what? Meeting with in-law? "But I knew about Sten though? I often came to his house for tea..." Hikaru started. But then he thought perhaps it's the other father? Hikaru knew about Bredis, but just "knew"... yet apparently that's not it. Well, the sister-in-law more like it. Hikaru... not sure what to felt about that. Last time he heard, it has gone badly, But regardless, this is family, right? He know it's coming soon, so... Hikaru decided that he should be present.
"............I'm heading off a bit, uh... Owen would like me to accompany him to meet the sister-in-law," he told his eldest daughter Jill and second son Haku. Jill simply nodded, but told him that she's not going to come. She's pretty much the secretary. She might not be the admin-- that's her younger sister, Bu and Fuu; and also her elder brother Bezil... but even then, she's the one who communicate with the city boards the most as the secretary. If both the king and the secretary gone, the city will be in chaos... Well there's still KIZNA leader Yuuki, who's Hikaru's partner, but if he have to handle both the team and the city without Jill's help, he'll probably get stressed out. She declined after stating her reasoning.
Haku declined due to the fact he have to deal with his own job. Anomalies in Digital World is rising, and so he's holed in his office in Ys Hospital to update necessary medical information about plague, viruses, and various symptoms. He politely declined.
As for Steyr... Hikaru decided to send one just in case, but... His reply was "Sorry, but I'm not ready for that, or even to go back to the family at it. But don't worry, I'm fine."
...and so, he asked Hilda and Perry if they wanted to come.
That day, Hikaru is dressed in slightly more presentable outfit. Not like he's usually not presentable, but the king decided to wear a formal coat with shirt underneath, and his best set of kilt. In the promised place, Hikaru of course let Owen do the talking first. Once he and Sten said their part, Hikaru's spoke next.
"Good day, Cion. Good to meet you finally. I'm Owen's husband, Hikaru," he introduced himself.

When they were invited to go on a picnic, to meet their aunt-in-law, the three of them - Persephone, Baldur, and Hilda - would accept; even if Hilda only accepted, once she knew that her older sister was going. Family outings and the such were not unusual to them; and to spend time with family, especially someplace outside the Northern Prominence, was always nice. The fact that Cion - someone who they had never met before in person, and had only heard of a few times from their parents here and there - would be there, though, was certainly going to be something interesting.
Persephone, personally, was optimistic about it all; and Baldur, more or less, shared her sentiments. What things they had heard of Cion seemed pleasant, overall; and that she was so kind as to help host the picnic was a good sign, too, to them! Persephone especially was always fond of getting to know other members of her family better, after all.
Baldur, too, was happy to potentially get to know Cion. Even if they weren't related to the rest of the family by blood, their close bond with Persephone and the rest of the family meant that they were a valued family friend; and they typically hung around, anyways, to help make sure Persephone was doing alright; so they'd end up coming with, to this outing.
Hilda, though... She wasn't quite as optimistic as the duo. Certainly, she heard the same things as Persephone and Baldur - heard the positive things that her parents would mention in regards to Cion, but... She couldn't help but be skeptical, all the same. If Cion was regarded so positively, then why wasn't she in contact with the family more - either thru simple visits, or conversations over things such as Tamernet? Why was it that only their oldest of siblings had ever actually met Cion?
Of course, a lot of this boiled down to Hilda's typical mistrust and standoffish nature towards strangers, but... She still couldn't help but regard Cion with a hair of suspicion and uncertainty; enough so that she wanted to, at least, stay near Persephone for this picnic - even if nothing bad came of it.
As a result though, the three would be clustered close as they arrived to Rosewood with the rest of the family; Persephone in her hover chair, with Baldur and Hilda both at opposite sides of her. Persephone, personally, was happy to get out of the house in general; letting out a relaxed and pleased hum, as she enjoyed the smells that you could find only in the Eastern Timberlands, and enjoyed the breeze on her fur. "It's such nice weather today, isn't it?" She'd hum - glancing down to Baldur and Hilda both.
"Oh, definitely..!" Baldur chirped in response; the Hawkmon energetically gesturing with a wing. "Perfect weather for a picnic, perfect weather to get to know one's in-laws, I'd say!" They'd mention enthusiastically, though after a moment, would glance to Persephone. "You took your meds before we got off the train, though, right?"
"Mhmm," Persephone nodded briefly. She had been dealing with a bit of fatigue and aches - or, at least, moreso than usual - and so Baldur was making sure that she was being good, in taking care of herself and keeping up on her meds. "I'll be fine, Baldur; but I appreciate the worry." She'd chuckle; smiling warmly.
"Eheh, a feathered knight such as myself has to look out for their princess, somehow!" They'd respond with a flourish, smiling widely, and drawing a brief bit of laughter out of Persephone in response.
"I just hope the food is good.." Hilda would grouse briefly, mostly to herself, her tail flicking a bit. She was still getting used to navigating this new environment, seeing as that she didn't leave Ys very often, which didn't help her mood on top of everything else. But, Hikaru and Persephone both made her promise to behave, and so she would at least try to be somewhat tolerant of things.
To see the actual picnic site, though, was certainly a sight to behold; a table that was large enough to accommodate the family, plenty of variety of foods and beverages, it was as though Cion had prepared for the entire family to arrive and then some..! Persephone couldn't help a warm smile; that optimistic feeling of hers welling back up, before she'd notice Cion - Sten, Owen, and Hikaru having all approached to greet her. Her ears would prick up a bit as she perked to attention; before smiling warmly, as she, too, would approach - Baldur and Hilda both following.
"Hello; it's nice to finally meet you..!" Persephone would greet Cion, once her parents and grandfather had all said their pieces. "I'm Owen's and Hikaru's daughter, Persephone; though you can call me Perry for short, if you'd like." She'd introduce herself; leaning forward from her hover chair, to offer a handshake to Cion.
"I'm pleased to make your acquaintance, madame!" Baldur would chirp up after, the Hawkmon theatrically bowing; though it seemed to be just them being humorous and playful, if their chuckle and smile, as well as Persephone's brief giggle, implied anything. Straightening up, Baldur would extend a wing in a handshake of their own, as they introduced themselves next. "My name is Baldur; Close family friend, and Persephone's primary caregiver and best friend - though I hope to get to know you all the same!"
Hilda, though, was not quite as social or welcoming; the StormGuilmon-X glancing aside briefly, before her cloudy eye settled back onto Cion once more. "... Brynhild, though most people call me Hilda." She'd state simply - the bare minimum - her tail briefly flicking once more.
Persephone, glancing down to Hilda, would scratch the back of her head a little - before glancing over and apologizing to Cion "Pardon my sister, she doesn't really like strangers, typically. I'm sure she'll warm up to you, if you give her some time, though."
Hilda wanted to say something along the lines of 'doubt it', though would hold her tongue; instead idly glancing out towards the table set-up, and the food. Without sight, one tended to focus on their other senses more - including one's sense of smell - and all of this food had the electric dragon hungry.

To make things a little simple to describe, one should start with the basics, yes? Up until now, Fuu was unaware that she had an aunt-in-law. Entirely. Bu had gone off for the day with Ophelia and Cassie, so she wasn't in any position to attend the picnic, which left the remainder of the trio, which was Fuu and Yui. Speaking of Yui? She was also unaware of just...how expansive the family unit her partners were a part of had been. Or, rather, had grown.
Disregarding the general problems with putting distance between a pair of twins for the moment, Fuu and Yui opted to approach this gathering with a bit of optimism, particularly from the latter. The former was unsure how to regard this, meanwhile. They proceeded behind Persephone and her posse (which included Hilda), while Yui glanced to the table which was...swiftly getting more and more full.
"This is...probably the place." The woman muttered, to which Fuu replied with "It's got my siblings, of course it is." In a rather...quiet manner. They went up to the table, and while Yui took a seat, Fuu went to go greet the fennec herself. "Uh...Hi, I know you might already have a...lot of names to memorize, but I'm Fuu--I'm one of the lady over there's partners and one of Owen and Hikaru's daughters."

It was rather sudden, but upon beholding the large group - a multicolored blur within an autumnal canvas - she realized that the waiting period had ended. Alone the fact that so many had responded positively to her invitation filled her with a warmth of care and appreciation - but to her atypical if reserved nervousness it did the opposite. In every part of her diminutive frame, she felt the intense and rapid beating of her core. Her maw desiccated as shallow breaths of cold air entered and exited frequently. Yet, no matter the enervation she experienced, she understood that she had to confront her trepidation to vanquish it. There was no bearable alternative.
The first to address her was a WereGarurumon, who, despite them being spoken gently, uttered words that immediately caught her off guard. With bafflement marking all sinews and muscles of her face, her aureate irises swayed between her supposed stepfather and... Owen. It was with peaked ears that she tried to comprehend his explications, but unclarity ultimately lingered.
"From... Rakyura?" She asked shyly, remembering suddenly yet with clarity the dearest adoptive father figure from a world she, among a handful, had not forgotten. Was he the same person? Blinking, the small fox eventually grasped that several awkward seconds had passed. Shaking her head and clearing her throat, she held one paw above her chest and bowed to the elderly meyser. "The pleasure is mine as well, Sten." She replied with sincere kindness in her tone, enshrouded only slightly by her discomposure.
Straightening up again, unusually quickly so, her attention was naturally claimed by a very special person of her existence. Her gaze remained on the familiar Gaomon, who to this day continued to carry her gift, as she did his. "H-hey..." She spoke quietly, visibly mustering any courage she could to overcome her... disquiet. Before, fate had led their path's in this life to cross during brief times of woes, be they personal or not. Today was different - there was solely serenity, if they allowed it to be. "I..." She started, nodding often to reassure herself. "... I am glad you accepted it - really."
Evidently, it was difficult for the restrained Arniomon to voice her gratitude, but it was without doubt absolutely genuine. Of far greater arduousness was who she attended to next. Examining the charmingly, fancily clothed Dorumon, a thousand clashing thoughts began raging and entangling themselves inside her mind. So, that was him... Hikaru. At last, she met the individual whose soul had bonded with her former truelove.
She never had any expectations or biases, which regrettably did not change the reality that she did not know what to say. He was affable, patient, straightforward but not blunt. He was simply someone most would indeed appreciate to have around. Hence, as she swallowed her unease, she took a couple of mighty steps to conquer her hesitation. Reaching out her hand to the lavender Nature Spirit, it was nothing less than her wish for them to accept each other, relinquishing possible reservations. "A good day to you too, Hikaru. I share your anticipation of finally meeting thee."
It was abruptly, but the ancient sentinel noticed her body feeling lighter by a multiple. This simple act had sufficed to remove an unfathomable weight from her heart, and she did not remain unaware to this. Realizing that her pulse reassumed a healthy, soft rhythm, her respiration too simmered down - especially as she spotted two lads she felt utmost affection for. "Hey!" She exclaimed with a toothy, almost beaming smile. If she was bigger, she would have knelt to embrace both boys, but it was clear that she was approximately their size. Logan the Offmon and Bazil the Gumdramon... "Oh, it's been too long."
In whatever way they savored their reunion, it was obvious that her love for her nephews was unconditional and infinite. Though the previous meetings were not many, she was fond of them regardless. However, there were children amongst the members of this family that she did not recognize. Chuckling nearly inaudibly, she wondered how proactively the blue puppy had acted during these few years. A chivalrous Hawkmon, a direct and unusual Guilmon, and... a rarity she had encountered but once or twice before throughout the ages.
Stepping forward towards the impaired Rookie, it was the lady's gracefulness that truly astonished the vulpine aspirant. The strength of her character was irrefutable, if not inspiring. It was with exceeding delight that she obliged Perry's offer to shake hands. "I was unfortunately not made aware of you beforehand, but know that I am equally as glad to meet you, Persephone" She introduced herself with great glee, not daring to treat the gentlewoman differently because of her condition. Such a radiant spirit deserved no less than authentic sympathy and kinship.
Noting the charming antics of Baldur, she gasped silently, amazed by his gallant mannerisms. Directly bowing as a sign of wholehearted respect, she returned the pleasantness. "The pleasure and hope is but mine, young gentleman." She shared his felicity and grace, joyously taking his wing to perform the traditional deed of mutual peace anew. Unlike the Wind Guardian, there was not a hint of tongue-in-cheek jest in the way she carried herself. This was genuinely her balletic demeanor, although it was seldom that she could utilize it and not receive odd looks.
The final member of the trio to get acquainted with was Hilda, who, dissimilar to her siblings, was understandably cautious and concise. Hearing Perspehone's intervention, the platinum gray beast shook her head, smiling calmly in acceptance of the distrust. "No, it is I who ought to beg for pardon." She asserted firmly yet kindly. Turning to properly talk with the StormGuilmon-X, she figuratively radiated unending empathy. "My invitation was at short notice, and we have never met nor bantered. You came nonetheless, for which I am highly grateful. Hence, albeit what your trust requires, Brynhild - I look forward to earn it."
Last but by far not least was a shy, quiet madam and her companion, who miraculously also happened to be of the exact species that her kindred spirit's dearly beloved and the formidable girl belonged to. Laughing weakly, she scratched her chin, figuring that this was not going to be very easy to adapt to. "No need to worry - the more the merrier." She declared confidently, willing to deal with this little brainteaser. "Gladly I welcome you too, Fuu. Your destined partner of course as well."
Exhaling, Cion stepped backwards to behold the entirety of this amicable cornucopia. At once, former anxiousness had vanished, replaced by agitated excitement. At a loss for words, in the end she remembered the occasion, mostly thanks to the proactivity of Yui. Spluttering the beginnings of her sentences, her bushy, white tail swayed back and forth, indicating elation as it did for Owen when he did the same. "P-please, don't just stand there. Make yourselves comfortable. I can turn on the barbecue if you like! I hope nobody had dinner yet and brought with them plenty of hunger. Appetizers and drinks, including tea and coffee, are at your disposal - on the table."

Owen was grateful that his family had accompanied him here. He felt so much more secure and safe with them around. Even Persephone, Baldur and Hilda came along with them, even when Owen thought they might be a bit young for this. But if they felt comfortable coming along to meet their Aunt, then he didn't attempt to stop them.
And if they were going, then of course...
"Surpriiise!" Matty the Onmon shouted, along with his twin brother Jimmy the Musimon, the two of them emerging from a portal nearby.
"W-what?!" Owen asked, shocked to see his young twin sons. "How did you get here?!"
"We found out about this from a certain sibling that shall not be named, then we asked Nik to open a portal to Rosewood for us." Jimmy said, waggling his finger at Owen. "Really, dad, why wouldn't we want to be here and meet our aunt Cion?"
"Well... alright, just, there's some things we need to work out that may be a little heavy." Owen said in response.
"What sort of things, son?" Sten asked, confused.
"You know, dad. Things in timelines and past lives." Owen replied. Then Cion greeted Sten, mentioning the word 'Rakyura'. And for the first time, the WereGarurumon's face grew serious. He said nothing to Owen, merely nodding with response. As Owen had once been Jaelin, he now saw Cion was possibly one that had another name in the past too. And another identity.
'Is this... Voughn?' Sten thought. But would not say those words, he had to be stoic and gentle here. There were enough bad old feelings in his own past that made him realize just how delicate this situation could be. Instead, he rested his hand on Owen's shoulder, feeling it tremble. He gripped it, hoping to reassure him that all would be fine in this meeting. Owen was thankful for it.
At Cion's invitation, Owen, Sten, Bezil, Logan, Matty and Jimmy sat themselves down on the table. Bezil and Logan sat closest to Cion, having previously met her. Owen meanwhile sat next to Hikaru. Matty and Jimmy just sat wherever.
"That sounds great, Cion, thanks for setting this up for us." Owen said to the Arniomon. If all went well today, he'd by all means offer her an invitation to Ys for her to meet Haku and Jill as well. But still, things had to go well.
"What have you been up to lately, Aunt Cion?" Logan asked, eager to hear stories. Usually she was doing something exciting. Bezil listened in too, happy to do so.

So far so good, no shades were tossed, although Hilda probably worried him a bit with her usual brand of prickliness. However, compared to her usual attitude, this is better... Hmn. Hikaru gently soothes Hilda by rubbing her back gently. Cion offered him a handshake, to which the Vaccine Dorumon shook firmly.
"I heard today there is a little party, so... If you don't mind me giving something as a...," what to call it even? He have no idea... Hikaru's brain eventually just tossed out the most appropriate one at the moment "personal gift to appreciate what effort have you done today for all of us..." Hikaru pulled out a sizable sirloins and several bottles of champagne. He also included several fruits in a basket together with some cheese. "I'd like you to have these to enjoy in your free time."
After giving his present and put it on a free table, Hikaru would head toward the table and seat himself. His drink of choice being tea this time around. There's not much to say (or better said this was sudden hence he decided have no idea what to talk about), so he took a passive approach today. He let his kids do their stuff.

Peresphone would smile gently at Cion's response. Though she didn't entirely know what to expect of the fox digimon - beyond the things she had heard from her parents - it seemed that the other was quite pleasant, even if perhaps a bit oldfashioned, in a charming way. Once the handshake was over with, she'd chuckle - musing "Well, this is as good a time as any to get to know each other," in response to Cion's mention of having not been aware of her before hand as she pulled out a small bottle of hand sanitizer; sanitizing her hands. With her fragile immune system, one could never be too careful.
Baldur, too, was pleasantly surprised that Cion would respond to their greeting with a similar mannerism - even if hers was more genuine, as opposed to their theatrics. The Hawkmon would chuckle and smile warmly; mentioning in a soft tone to Persephone "I like her already!" with a bright grin; to which the Dorumon giggled and nodded in response.
Hilda, though... She'd quietly stare at Cion, with the fennec's response to her more chilled reception. The electric dragon didn't know what to make of her more flowery mannerisms, frankly; and if Hilda was honest? She felt that Cion was saying a whole lot of words - both fancy or complicated and otherwise - when all she needed to say was basically 'all's good, i'll still try to earn your trust though.' At least with Baldur, the Hawkmon just liked goofing around to put a smile on other peoples' faces, and she knew that Persephone enjoyed their theatrics, but...
A touch to Hilda's back would make her jolt briefly - static visibly traveling along her scales with her surprise - before the StormGuilmon-X would turn towards Hikaru, blinking a little. Realizing that it was just her father, though... She would relax with a heavy and rough sigh; glancing away and towards the table, as she arched her back into his touch the slightest bit. "... How do you guys deal with strangers getting so involved with our family so easily?" She'd eventually whisper to Hikaru in a mutter - her tone low, as to try and avoid Cion overhearing. "I barely know her, and yet we just gotta accept her inserting herself among us..?"
Well, either way, Cion would direct them towards the table, to make themselves comfortable and enjoy the food. Baldur would be the first of the three to respond to this; chirping to her "Don't mind if we do; thank you kindly!" with a wide smile and a gesture of their wing, before they and Persephone would make for the table. "Here we go;" He'd murmur to the Dorumon, helping out as she set her hover chair down before the table. "Go ahead and get comfy and situated, and I'll dish us up."
"Thank you, Baldur." Persephone would smile; shifting a bit in her seat. "Mind getting me some tea while you're at it?"
"Can do~!"
As Baldur moved to retrieve food and refreshments for Persephone, Hilda would be eyeballing the barbecue a bit; the meats visibly catching her eye a bit. Though, for now, she'd settle for some coffee and nibbling a bit on one of the appetizers as she sat down next to Persephone, her tail twitching a bit restlessly.
Persephone would easily notice this, and would smile sympathetically, leaning over to murmur softly "Everything alright, Hil'?"
"..." Hilda was quiet at first - glancing towards Cion once more, before at the cup of coffee she had retrieved for herself. "... Just... not used to this shit." She'd mutter a little; taking a gulp of the coffee.

...Somehow this felt a bit more awkward than it should have for some reason, and Fuu couldn't quite put a finger on why. The woman waved at Cion as she said hi to Fuu, before the fennec offered for everyone to go get some food. See, that's what Yui was waiting for. Would be kind of rude to just show up and start scarfing down more food than the average partner was reported to (which was something she had always found rather ridiculous), really.
Fuu went with her tamer to get some food, so Yui took the time to at least talk to her. "Well?" The redhead inquired. "...I don't know how I feel about her. She seems nice, but...I dunno. Maybe it's just the fact I just met her and everything. There's a lot to process..." They both got plates of food (nonspecific ones) before they went back to sit by Perry, Hilda and Baldur. "Hey, you enjoying yourselves?" Yui opted to ask, with a smile on her face.
...She hadn't met Hilda yet, oh dear.

The sudden emergence of a portal out of which two additional strangers of the family stepped out, Matty the Onmon and Jimmy the Musimon, naturally caught Cion by surprise. Golly gosh - Owen had manifestly been extremely proactive in the recent years, even if this concentrated passion was not focused on commonweal, but personal growth. It was nothing she frowned upon, for those whose souls had a solid foundation were often the best in mending the wounds of others. Nonetheless, there was a reason why she and him never had adopted the mantle of parenthood throughout the ages, as their lives used to be of... continuous strife. Now... it appeared solely hers was.
Gently waving at the lads who had arrived mere seconds ago, her ears managed to perceive the brief and prematurely ended conversation between the Gaomon and his paternal figure. She understandably knew full well what an important aspect of this get-together was. Hence she did not meddle with the talk, nor did she press on with her unanswered question. Rakyura hardly mattered anymore, especially on this autumnal day of reconciliation and hopefully creation of lasting bonds.
Speaking of which - the silver fennec experienced immense relief that Hikaru was willing to forge amity with her, in spite of the understandable tremulousness that gnawed at both. It was a happy omen, and one she clung to with every ounce of her impressive might. Seeing the basket of gifts the Dorumon had brought with her, she looked at it with open astonishment. Appreciation was always balm to her agitated spirit. "Thank you." She softly expressed her gratitude. Unsure what to do with the items, particularly the alcoholic beverages, a thought manifested itself within her consciousness. "Well... this is free time to me, and I enjoy sharing. Would it affront you if I added at least the fresh sirloin and... maybe a couple champagne bottles to the barbecue for everyone today?"
Regardless of the answer she received, her focus lingered on the fascinating trio for a while. Paying no attention to Persephone's weak health due to aforementioned esteem, she nodded in response to her optimistic statement. "Verily." The small fox agreed with a winning smile, her pleasant anticipation figuratively carved into her facial expression. The same blissfulness she felt for Baldur, in particular as she witnessed him and his fosterling conveying their liking for her. Another big step was accomplished with this knowledge - and perhaps someday, Brynhild too would accept her embrace.
Against the empowered Guilmon's attempts, eons of perceiving the worlds had bolstered her senses to an almost unfathomable level. Either that, or the stalwart Rookie was simply not as good in whispering as she believed. The youngling's words were hurtful, but to impugn them was a pointless and inimical endeavor. Besides, she did not intend to break the vow she had just made publicly. If Hilda understood her history, that their points of view used to be alike, then her misgivings would possibly cease. Yet this afternoon of family and regalement was not a suitable occasion for tales of woe.
Briefly observing the Hawkmon and the Dorumon preparing themselves for the feast, Cion could not help herself but to chuckle with elation. Such affection, care and benignity soothed her concerns immeasurably. To see it coming from children was... stupendous. Taking in a deep breath, she ancient sentinel was glad to know that her initial trepidation had vanished, and that her guests had joyously accepted her invitation to take a seat and savor appetizers and drinks. Counting over a dozen people, barely capable of comprehending nor accepting this éclat, she ultimately decided to have part in the fun.
"My pleasure!" She felicitously replied to the blue puppy before squeezing herself in between Bezil and Logan. Though slightly disheartened that she did not get the chance to sit by her brother's side, she also concluded that it was the wisest choice. Moreover, being able to look at him normally during interactions was certain to avoid a jumble - if it came to that. At this point, it seemed as if it did not matter... although they fathomed the significance of a proper recommencement. Previous encounters had been less than optimal for doing so.
Delighted by the Offmon's inquiry, the restrained Arniomon folded her hands and shrugged coltishly. "Oh, dealing with this monster of the week - the Demon Lords. Admittedly not my greatest success story thus far. Daemon is a... stinker, colloquially speaking. I dislike ne'er-do-wells with MacGuffins; in their case the Icon of Sin. But I'm sure there will be one for the heroes too to beat them. It's how these kind of stories usually go." She narrated concisely and with probably inappropriate sereneness. This was of course on purpose as to not sour the mood of this event of gladness.
"What about you all? Any happenings you'd like to share? I certainly am eager to hear them." She asked with genuine excitement in her cheery voice. The more she learned from those who were so generous as to oblige her spontaneous plans the better. "Oh!" She abruptly exclaimed, noticing that she had forgotten something of great importance. "Nearly let you starve - apologies." She stated chummily as her paws and eyes were engulfed in a faint, yet radiantly iridescent aura.
Pointing with a finger at the BBQ, a blazing red bolt was launched effortlessly at the state-of-the-art machine. The gas it released ignited, creating an ephemeral and controlled surge of fire that quickly shrunk back beneath the grids. The same veil that surrounded parts of her frame engulfed many of the delicacies as they were placed on the appropriate spots to be grilled. Telekinesis was evidently utilized by her to move the objects with ease.
Meats, fish, any conceivable trimmings like vegetables and slices of potatoes and baguette... all seasoned with a variety of spices - their flavorful scents slowly filling the cool air as they sizzled quietly. "If you want anything specific, don't be shy to let me know."

For the moment, Owen watched his family's reaction to Cion in silence. But to the Gaomon's surprise, he felt Sten grip his shoulder gently.
"I have a feeling why you're so nervous about this, son." the WereGarurumon whispered. "Just know that I'm here, I understand, and I'll do my best to help. You can count on me."
"...thanks, dad." Owen whispered in response. So many timelines had been stopped, started, twisted over to get to this point. Owen just wanted this to end with everyone being understanding and happy.
Bezil and Logan meanwhile listened intently as Cion mentioned she was dealing with the Demon Lords. This immediately drew Matty and Jimmy's attention. "Whoa! Hold up, we gotta hear this too!" Matty exclaimed, the Onmon eager to hear of his aunt's escapades against this new threat to the digital world. "Daemon, right? Did you meet him...?"
"Did you fight him?!" Jimmy added, eagerly.
Then Cion turned the question back to them. And furthermore, she seemed to be able to prepare food without even touching it. This for one impressed Sten. Owen was pretty delighted as well.
"I'm happy with whatever you have, Cion." the Gaomon admitted. "As for what we've been up to... well, I've become settled down as a teacher, based in Rosewood. I'm educating young digimon about combat and survival as soon as they get there from the Village of Beginnings."
"As for me, I've joined up with papa in KIZNA and aiming to be a fully qualified adventurer of the digital world!" Bezil said, cheerfully. "I've still got a ways to go, but, I'm learning more things every day."
"Oh, me?" Logan asked as eyes turned to him. "Well... I haven't really done much to be honest. My partner Tadao's busy with college, and, he really can't deal with much adventures in the digital world on top of his other work..."
"Aw, poor big brother Logan, weighted down with a human partner..." Jimmy said with sympathy. "Me and my twin brother Matty, we've been sticking with dad, learning from him how we can. He might be a huge dork, but, he looks out for us."
"Hmph, some respect you have there." Owen said, in a little sulky manner.
"Oh, no, they're right there, mate, you can be a real dork sometimes." Sten said, which made Owen's cheeks flush red, but the WereGarurumon chuckled and patted his back. "Don't feel bad, you so take after me."
"Thanks... dad..." Owen replied, hoping this moment of levity could help drain the tension from the air.

...Hilda, always the brave one huh, or better said she's always the one who's very outspoken about her feeling. Hikaru had no doubt that Cion might heard it. But if a question is posed whether he cares about it or not, the answer is no. The king doesn't really care about anyone overhearing that. However, politeness is the key. Hikaru pats Hilda's head gently.
"I don't simply 'deal with it'," Hikaru answered with lower volume. "That's not my style. My style is see how they behave, and how they interact with the family, and what effect it brings, this goes to any potential mates of my kids as well. I'll simply judge this based on how the day gonna go. I'm giving chance, that's all. If I don't like what I see then I'll bail, but if I like what I see then good, welcome to the family. I don't expect you kids to just suddenly accept her either, and I understand the feeling of someone suddenly stepping in to our family's business, but..."
There are complicated past between his family and Cion afterall. However, he have no idea if his kids know about it or not. He however, will stay mostly
"But all I request is to give her a fair chance... And if you don't like what you saw, you're free to do anything you want," Hikaru reassured. Well, neutral is how he'll conduct himself. He's doing this mostly for Owen and Sten. As the husband and as the son-in-law, he wanted to give them chance to reconnect with their family, that's all.
Hikaru was mostly silent after that, looking at his kids now and then, and sipping his drink. True to his words, he's pretty much only observing, well, at least until something caught his attention.
"Don't call it being weighted down," Hikaru chided Jimmy "Your old man is also partnered, you know? Tadao is a nice man, and I'm sure he's trying his best to balance his life for Logy's sake too."

Hilda would be quiet initially, as Hikaru explained his own feelings regarding this entire picnic; wanting to see for himself just how Cion would interact with everyone, and how the day in general went, before making any snap judgements. The ornery Guilmon-X couldn't deny the logic in it all, though she couldn't help but wonder if Cion would really be one of those people that they'd be able to accept openly - given the fact that it seemed as though Cion had never been talked about all that much as far as she could recall, despite the supposed significance she had, in what occasional times she had been brought up.
Despite it all, though... As Hikaru gently asked Hilda to give Cion a fair chance, the electric dragon in question would think for a few seconds - as though considering the request... Before letting out a heavy sigh. "... I ain't gonna be mushy with her, but..." Hilda paused briefly, 'glancing' towards the gray blob of color that was Cion, before turning her attention back towards Hikaru "... I guess I'll give her a chance."
She wasn't usually one to listen easily, but... This was something that her siblings seemed to be able to enjoy thus far, and she didn't exactly want to ruin this for them.
It didn't take long for Baldur to return to Persephone's and Hilda's sides, drinks and appetizers for the three of them in tow. The Hawkmon in question would lay them out so that the three of them could munch as they pleased, before noting that the two weren't alone; Yui having seated herself amongst the three of them. Smiling brightly, the Hawkmon idly gestured with a wing, as per their usual theatrics; responding "All's well thus far!" with a cheery chirp. "The food looks scrumptious, the day is a beautiful one, and it's a chance for us all to get a little fresh air and a change of scenery! How about you, Yui?"
Persephone laughed gently at Baldur's positivity, and would nod in agreement with them; smiling to Yui. "Today's going nicely; it's a tiny bit chilly, given the time of year, but it's okay - I've got my shawl, for if I get too cold." She'd mention; patting the bag compartment, on the side of her chair. She knew her limits, and Baldur did as well; so neither of them were too worried about her letting herself get too cold.
Hilda, though, wouldn't really respond to Yui; simply giving the girl a one-shoulder shrug. It was a day, she supposed; the food and coffee was good, weather was alright... She had already agreed to Hikaru that she'd try to behave, as much as she wasn't thrilled with Cion, so there wasn't much she could say on her thoughts on the fox digimon in question.
As Cion asked about any local happenings, though... Persephone seemed to perk up a little at this; leaning over to dig something out of her bag. "I've actually been, well, experimenting with something," The Dorumon would speak up - pulling out what looked to be a length of white, almost silky-looking cloth, that appeared to sparkle in the light. "It's... A bit of a pet project, I suppose? Ever since me and Dad had found some Elementite, in one of the opened rooms of the Sanctum, I've been experimenting with it some; and I figured out how to infuse pieces of cloth with flakes of Elementite..!"
She'd pass the cloth so that everyone could pass it around the table and get a chance to look it over - it was silky to the touch, and had a certain sturdiness to it. "I'm hoping to be able to make this cloth into accessories for, uhm... Letting people protect themselves from the elements by imbuing the cloth as necessary, given how Elementite reacts to elemental attacks. Once the cloth is imbued with a given element, it stays like that for the rest of the day; and it holds up to even extreme conditions of that given element very well!"
Baldur seemed to take especial interest in this; smiling widely, and applauding Persephone. "That'd be quite the useful little trinket, Perry!" They'd chirp; adding "Imagine the sorts of expeditions someone could go on, if they didn't ever have to worry about freezing or overheating!"

Well, it was pretty nice to hear that Perry was enjoying herself. Unfamiliar as Yui had been with most of Bu and Fuu's family, she knew that her Dorumon partner regarded her sister incredibly highly. While the Dorumon kept her eyes on Cion and her brothers, the tamer simply opted to keep up the conversation with Perry.
"If you need a scarf, I'm happy to lend you mine." She told the Dorumon. Yui had it on hand and she didn't really think she'd be too cold without it, either. As for any local happenings... "Weeeeell, there hasn't been a lot on my end, or Fuu's. Bu went to the mountains for the day with her girlfriend, so there's that." Yui noted how Hilda didn't seem to react that much to her. Hm. Perhaps it was best not to press further. The Guilmon looked pretty darn ferocious, after all!
Fuu on the other hand... "...I've...uh. I've been working on papers. Research and the like--Nothing all that exciting. Has there been anything interesting with you, Ms. Cion?" She was trying her hardest to be sociable here, genuinely.
