With their newest travel companion, Maia and Kuu had agreed to accompany the Assistant Terriermon to her old home, near the bayou of the Eastern Timberlands. They really couldn't blame her for wanting to go back, considering the reason why she had been away for so long! Getting trapped in a hole under a really weird lizard wasn't necessarily a happy circumstance! And, she must have been pretty homesick!
Which, was kind of funny, when Maia thought about it. Considering it had been so long since she'd returned to her own home. Could it be considered that anymore? "We could always go visit," Kuu suggested, quietly, from his perch on his tamer's shoulder. It was like he knew what she was thinking! And, in this case? He really did!
But, was only met with a, "mmm," and absolutely nothing more regarding the topic. How disappointing!
At least Ela was in bright spirits, though! "I can't wait to get some of my stuff! We need it, you know? For science! And probably nicer traveling, anyway," she announced, ignoring that her big ears had definitely heard whatever Kuu was talking about. Clearly, it didn't involve her! So, there was no point in prying!
Plus, she just really wanted to go to her own home right now! No pit-stops along the way! "I really want to bring one of my books with us. I think it could come in handy, someday!" Then, turning so that she was walking backwards, to be able to better see the tamer and partner, she added, "you've one of those Infini-Store things, right? Do you mind if I take a bit of space in it?"
"Go ahead," Maia answered, simply, with a shrug. It wasn't like she was ever going to fill the entire thing! Not even Kuu could find enough things, to hoard, that could make a decent dent in the storage capacity!
Speaking of Kuu, though, it seemed that he was getting impatient with this trip! "Are we almost there yet?" Yes, that child-like whiny-ness was a thing. He was about to pull a toddler-move, and just keep asking that same question repeatedly, until they got there, wasn't he? It sure wouldn't be a surprise!
Luckily! He didn't have much time to do so! As the lab-coated Terriermon spun back to face ahead of them, she lifted her ears and paws into the air. "Actually! We are! It's just around this tr-," and, for some reason? Ela went silent.
Head tilted, as she paused for a moment. "I," she managed to start again, only to take another pause, and scurry toward the house that had come into view. "Why is the door open?"
Oh. Oh, no. That was never a good question, when returning from a long 'vacation' of any sorts! Either way, Kuu and Maia weren't going to let the bunny barge into her home, if it looked like someone else might have been there! That was just dangerous! Quickly, they chased the other rookie, only to stop the second Maia's feet hit the wooden panels inside of the home. Oh.
"No, no," Ela insisted, as she began to scurry around the entrance, and further into the living area of the home. This place was a mess. "No, no, no, no, no, no," she droned on, like a broken record. Or, maybe, more like if a broken record player could consume caffeine. Fast, high-pitched, and very unstable.
"D'you live like this normally?" Kuu questioned, looking around at overturned chairs, scattered and ripped pages, and random baubles littering the ground. "I mean, I like messy places, but this is-"
"Nu-uh!" Terriermon announced, as she launched herself onto a bookshelf, and began to climb it to yank at a very specific book, with a fabric cover-protector. "I didn't do this stuff! Why would I leave my house like this? I can't science in a mess! It'd be contaminated so fast!" Valid point! "I dunno what they'd have wanted, though!" Dropping down from the shelf, the bunny let her ears slow her fall.
Upon paws hitting the ground, she bounced over to Maia, and held out the book. "Infini-Store this, please! Gotta see if," she hesitated, looking around the room while the blonde took care of the first book, "if I can find anything else I want. This is such a mess! Do you know how much it costs to hire someone to clean stuff like this? It's expensive! I can't do experiments and hire housekeepers all the time! Jeez."
Housekeeping? At a time like this? "Aren't you more worried about," the teen gave a moment, for Ela to understand the importance of the inquiry, "the part where someone broke into your house and made a mess?"
That seemed like a good question! Ela paused, tapping a 'finger' to her chin. "I mean, I guess I should be. But there are really more important things to worry about right now! Like organizing my stuff! I can't get any work done, or know what to bring, if this place is a mess! I just don't know where anything is!"
Why did so many people, and digimon, have such odd priorities?
Maybe, at least for now, it was best not to ask. Instead, they'd need to work together to try to get the home to a point that Ela would be ready to leave it again!

Any other description of Ela’s home right now would be inaccurate. The place was a total mess! It seemed like someone had been looking for something desperately. Whether they had found it or not, it was probably impossible to know right now. At least the Terriermon had been able to find a single book and hand it to Maia. Would it come useful for the group, eventually? While the trio assessed the damage caused by whoever had been here, a sound coming from the entrance of the small building would reach them. Steps. Something was coming their way. However, they couldn’t see who was coming from their current position. These were slow, firm steps, seemingly coming from something fairly tall. Sooner than later, the three of them would realize this was not the only reason why they seemed to be far from alone inside this abode. Out of seemingly nowhere, they would start hearing… music. The tune –a piece of gloomy, tense music- seemed to be coming from a door located at the northeast side of the room, a door that Ela knew led to her bedroom. Wings buzzing could also be heard. Then, a voice. “Are you sure you saw her enter? You better have not made me turn on my music for nothing!” A loud, female voice echoed from the other side of the door. It had a quite energetic tone and it wasn’t too different from the one of a hyped young girl. “Q-quiet!” A male voice replied this time. It sounded a lot more mature than the first one. “I didn’t tell you to turn on any music. We were supposed to take her by surprise.”If, by this point, either of the occupants of Ela’s living area decided to open the door to her bedroom, they would find two Butterflamons arguing. If they didn’t feel like finding out what was inside, the insects would open the door eventually anyways. “S-she's right there!” Quite shocked, the female flying bug blinked, looking at Ela and pretty much ignoring Maia and Kuu. “Where the hell have you been!? We’ve been looking for you all over town!” She flew forward, pushing her face a lot closer to the Terriermon, kind of examining if this was really her. It would be then where the group would be able to tell the music they were hearing was… coming from this digimon’s wings. At his overexcited sister’s attitude, the male Butterflamon let out a sigh. “Please excuse her, Dra. Ela. We’ve been waiting for you for quite a while and she’s gotten… impatient.” Silence invaded the room. Although the attitude of these two didn’t seem actually aggressive right now, the environment was definitely tense. They wanted something from Ela, and that much was obvious. It was only then when the most pumped of the pair noticed Maia and Kuu. The Butterflamon turned her head, her eyes widening while she stared at the human and her digimon. Again, she got uncomfortably close to the pair. “Who are YOU?” She asked, quirking an eyebrow. “Lea. Can you behave?” The male said, still keeping his distance from the group. Quickly, he tried to get back on topic, looking at the scientist again. “I’m sorry about the mess. This wasn’t me. I would never do such a thing.” He explained before clearing his throat, his wings still buzzing. “But you have to understand you have info that we need. Since you weren't coming back, we tried to find answers by ourselves.” The Butterflamon admitted, his eyes trailing down to look at the items laying all over the place. “I tried reading the books and looking for info!” Lea declared, flying back from Maia and Kuu’s face. “But… All of that stuff is too complicated for me to understand.” She noted, folding her arms and wrinkling her mouth. “Even Leo couldn’t decipher any of the stuff that you wrote!” Her eyes went towards Ela now. “That is true.” A sigh accompanied Leo’s words. “That’s why we need you to come with us, doctor. We need you in order to achieve our goal.” The perpetuity of this tense environment would probably tell the trio things weren’t going well. These two had destroyed Ela’s home, and now they wanted her to come with them. What were they looking for, exactly? What was going on? Leo’s voice broke the silence again. After letting out another sigh, the insect seemed to state a painful fact. “… We didn’t expect you to bring company, though.” He admitted, closing his eyes. It was then when Ela’s huge ears would be able to catch something. The music coming from Lea’s wings had managed to eclipse another sound. The tune had made this sound disappear completely from everyone’s radar for minutes, and the Terriermon would only be able to catch it now that it was quite close. But… what was it? It would take the bunny one more second to actually be able to tell. One more sentence from Leo would fill the short gap. “We need you Dra. Ela. But we can’t let them get out of here alive.”
It would be then when the scientist got the chance to realize. The steps! The ones that were coming from the entrance! Behind Mai and Kuu, a giant figure stood tall. It was at least twice the size of the human. And it was about to slam down a huge wooden sword covered in green energy against the pair.
SECOND ARC.

Unfortunately, Maia and Kuu had absolutely no idea where any of Ela's possessions belonged. So, they could really only watch as the bunny attempted to tidy up the ransacked room! After a moment, she paused beside a shattered snowglobe, placing her paws on her hips and huffing. "Aw. I liked that. It gave me motivation, and something to shake when I was upset!" So much for that. What was she going to violently shake any time her experiments messed up now? Kuu?
...That actually seemed like a great option.
Ela could use something, or someone, to shake right now.
But, she didn't! Not necessarily because she had self-control, or anything like that! But because her big ears would be the first to catch onto sounds that didn't belong in her house. Granted, once the music was properly playing, and people began talking, it wasn't like anyone in the room was going to be able to ignore it.
"Uh. Do you got a magical sound system thingy here?" Kuu started, while inching a little closer to his tamer. Chances were that, no, Ela did not own musical devices that played by themselves! Let alone ones that involved random conversations!
"Nu-uh." Luckily, the bugs wouldn't wait for Ela to debate too long on opening the door herself. They'd eventually open it and... be surprised to see the owner of the house inside her house. Well, then. Maybe everyone should be surprised! While one bug buzzed into the Terriermon's face, she used an ear to gently poke it in the forehead and try to push it back a little bit. Some personal space, please! "I've been stuck in a hole!"
Did that sound a little accusational? Why yes. Yes, it did. While one bug focused on Maia and Kuu now, Ela turned her attention to the less crazy Butterflamon. "I mean, instead of trashing my house, you guys could've saved me. I was almost eaten!" Well, that definitely would have put a damper on things, wouldn't it have? No science would be done properly, if she was dinner!
With Kuu already on Mai's shoulder, he'd lean toward Lea, trying to get in her face. "You first!" Great introductions, all around! But, unlike Ela, Kuu was all over the idea of invading everyone's personal space. It was part of who he was! So he certainly didn't mind touching faces with a bug, if they wanted to get too close! Maia, on the other hand? Didn't really want to be a part of it. So, she was going to try to focus on the conversation between Terriermon and Butterflamon.
Much like the Butterflamon's narrator, Maia had to wonder why anyone thought that Ela would want to go with Digimon that wrecked her home! And judging by the progressively scrunching nose of the bunny, she wasn't actually interested in the idea, anyway. "Yeah, about that," she trailed off.
It was one of those sentences that would never have a conclusion, considering the following events. "Oh," she commented, flatly, while turning toward the tamer and partner. "Move!"
And while normally, maybe a less dramatic response would be given off-the-bat, but nobody wanted to further ruin the tiny scientists's house, did they? So, instead, in a flash of light, the duo was replaced by a fox-like priestess. And more? She'd already reacted by casting a barrier around herself! Granted, it would crumble within moments after the impact, but at least there wouldn't be a gash in the floor!
As long as the weapon didn't penetrate the shield with some ability of its own, the Miko Mode Sakuyamon would take several steps back, to try to get out of range of any more strikes. Why did anyone think that fighting inside the poor bun's house was a good idea? "You want to fight inside?" the biomerge questioned, almost annoyed. If they were outdoors, this would be so much more simple! But, at least some people cared about the distress it would cause Ela if her belongings were completely unsalvageable!
"Hey! They saved me from becoming stew! Call this off now," the rabbit demanded, while making sure to move away from any danger of potential blows that would come from their newest company. "And I can't work if you guys break all my stuff! Stuff is important for science! What don't you get from that?" Hopefully, the scientist didn't have anything of sentimental value! Because, it was probably going to go up in flames soon enough, unless someone could quickly stop this madness!
Surely, the longer this progressed, the more she'd consider replacing her snowglobe with a Butterflamon instead of replacing it with Kuu!

Although this could probably be inferred by how the rest of the conversation had gone, these insects didn’t seem to care a lot about Ela, much less they had any idea of her being trapped somewhere. They only wanted the information she could give them. The scientific knowledge she could provide and a proper interpretation of the papers she had written herself about the subject that interested them.
They also didn’t seem interested in formal introductions or anything else. Maybe because they were sure these two were going to be dead in a moment? Maybe. The thing was that, even if neither of the Butterflamon had stated their names, from their interactions between one another the trio would know they were facing Lea and Leo. And then… someone else.
Maia made the right choice. Anything else but digivolving would have had terrible consequences for the pair, considering how fast that swing had been. It was as the barrier broken than the scientist and her friends would be able to get a proper look of the creature after them.
It was a Yaksamon.
And, naturally, he didn’t care about destroying Ela’s house a little (or a lot) more. However, he did seem perplexed at the form acquired by Maia and Kuu just now.
“P-Princess!?” Lea, who was also shocked, exclaimed, her eyes wide open. All of the enemies inside the room just observed the fox priest.
Just in time, Leo seemed to bring some sense into the crew. “Don’t be stupid. That is a Sakuyamon. We know Alissa is in the Human World!” And that was right. They did. Why would the princess come here, to the kingdom where she knew she had almost been killed last time?
Immediately, all of the adversaries got in motion again. “Come here, you!” Lea abruptly buzzed towards Ela, trying to grab the sneaky bunny!
Meanwhile? Leo’s gauntlets started moving, spinning around their axis. In a matter of seconds, a burst of fireballs was being shot at Maia’s new form, while the Yaksamon was launching new blows in order to neutralize her. Of course, with so many enemies inside a living room, all attacking at once, chaos was to be unfolded.
Lea was trying to get Ela, no matter where she went. “Just. Stop. Moving!” It was just a Terriermon in a labcoat, come on! If she managed to hit a single blow on her, they would be taken her unconscious ass in a moment. Meanwhile, the Butterflamon’s wings had started playing a more aggressive, bad-situation tune. At any moment, all of their enemies were making sure to block out any exit and stopping them from breaking out any wall or window to get out.
If the trio managed to keep themselves alive or uncaptured for the next thirty seconds (whether this caused terrible damage to Ela’s house or not), an escape door would open. Well, more like… a window.
That big window in the living room, the one that illuminated the whole area? Well, a powerful gust of wind would absolutely destroy that, sending pieces of glass and wood flying everywhere. The fact that both the Yaksamon and the ButterFlamons were shocked at this event probably meant they hadn’t planned it.
On the other side of the hole that had been caused by the relentless wind, a Swanmon flew. “Come on, Doctor! Over here!”
This was not just a random savior, though. No. Ela probably knew who this digimon was. She was one of the assistants that worked for Alissa; the princess of the Hana Kingdom. Yes! The kingdom they were in right now. Yes! where Ela had lived for years before getting trapped inside that cave and having her house destroyed by these psychos!
Naturally, they had never interacted. However, it was likely the science bunny had seen her on TV or different demonstrations or events where the princess had been present. Yes, both she and a Pucchiemon were always by her side.
What was she doing here, though!?
It didn’t matter now! This was someone Ela more or less knew and had opened a way out!
Whether Mai and her team wanted to fight or run, they needed to be outside of Ela’s house for that.
Immediately, both Leo and Lea went to try and block the exit. Maia would need to pull a good maneuver to go past them!

It was a weird moment when someone had mistaken the biomerge as a princess. What? The duo frankly had no idea. Were princesses a thing here? Whatever. The mistake was relatively quickly cleared up, although there would be a residual uncertainty from the Miko Mode. She definitely didn't want to be a princess, anyway!
As Maia and Kuu would be stuck trying to avoid attacks from multiple enemies, but primarily the one that actually seemed intimidating here, Ela would have to deal with a rather annoying bug! "This! This is why I can't science!" The bunny insisted, while bouncing up, and swinging a large ear down to try to slam it into Lea. "You're all ruining my stuff! Ruining my science! My house! I'm not goin' anywhere with you guys! You're terrible guests!"
Somehow, nobody suspected that these 'guests' were attempting to be hospitable by any means!
But, Maia and Kuu were doing their best to just keep out of range of most blows. They were not going to be blamed for the Terriermon's house caving in! Not that was was something likely to be avoided, at this point! Especially when the window had broken. The building's integrity was definitely compromised! And Ela didn't really need to be told to exit, considering everything! And in that second, the scientist made a leap, wrapping her ears around the biomerge like a scarf. "Follow the swan!"
Easy enough, right?
Well, maybe not, when certain digimon were trying to block their way out! If only they could see the supermega roll its eyes under the mask. Really? Well, there were two options. And even though this house was probably beyond the concept of being repaired, they were at least going to try to leave it without more destruction!
A small flicker might have been visible in the Digimon for a moment, only for the Miko Mode to suddenly be notably closer to the Butterflamon. Swinging her leg into a Bewitching Moon Kick, there was little doubt that if it hit either of the bugs, they would be moved out of the way sufficiently enough to leave! Or... perhaps significantly enough, depending on just how good the bug would be at keeping their balance!
Why try to evade them, if she had confidence she could move them, right? Maybe that was a bad way of looking at it, but any peaceful options were already out the window! Metaphorically, of course. The literal window was gone! Would that plan actually successfully get the group outside, to meet up with the Swanmon that only Ela might have recognized? Or would they have to work harder for their win?

In due time, the group could assess whether having an enemy that played its own music was a good thing or not. There was no way of denying it kept the environment musically accurate though. As soon as the rules of the game changed due to this Swanmon showing up, Lea started playing a different tune, one that was definitely more aggressive and denoted the start of a face-off.
Maia and Kuu, merged as a single Sakuyamon, would find kicking Leo quite easy. The digimon reflexes and resistance were fitting for an Adult-level digimon, which resulted in him being jutted right into a wall, inherently destroying Ela’s house a little more. A question would probably arise then... Wouldn't a kick from a Super Mega be enough to disintegrate an adult into a million bits of data? How had he managed to stay in one piece after such an attack? No. It was worse than that! Leo was already standing up after some seconds! But... how!?
In any case! with Leo being taken out, a gap had opened, one that was only made relatively bigger as the Yaksamon flickered too to appear behind Sakuyamon, ready to strike another vicious blow with his sword.
In order to take advantage of the Miko targeting another enemy, the swordsman had broken the defensive formation that protected the exit opened by the Swanmon. This had left a quite big gap for anyone to escape through that hole… assuming they could withstand the upcoming blow, that is.
For this, the Swanmon would make sure to help somehow. Flinging her wings aggressively, she created a stream of wind that traveled straight against Lea. “Come on! Get over here! They'll keep standing up!” The bird rushed the pair to get out of the house immediately. Around the area where the Sakuyamon was standing before going into the offensive, pieces of cherry blossoms started to materialize out of thin air. “Quick! They’re calling for reinforcements!” She warned.
Lea, on her side, managed to withstand the vicious wind current, trying to fly against it to the best of her capabilities, while the group’s rescuer kept fluttering those wings aggressively. “Getting…. Into… our business like that…. How rude, Assistant to the Princess!”
The path was clear and open for the pair to make their escape. Lea was battling a current of wind and Leo had been taken out of the equation momentarily with that kick. Could they fend Yaksamon off and make it out?

At least Leo was easily removed from the equation for now! And, considering every moment important to not-staying-in-a-caving-in-house, the biomerge didn't even pay attention to Leo's sudden ability to not die. Maybe, they should have kicked harder. Oh well. Focus on the goal!
"Why are they like this?" Miko Mode found itself questioning, quietly, as realization hit from the Swanmon's statement. They'd just keep getting up? What, were they immortal? Where was Kuu's immortality juice? That totally wasn't fair.
Also, totally wasn't relevant!
"Incoming!" Ela announced, ensuring that the biomerge couldn't get distracted from suddenly noticing that adult-level digimon shouldn't be handling this situation as well as they were.
In a questionable, but outright defensive measure, a glass-like orb formed around the Miko for a moment, as Crystal Sphere triggered. It was surely strong enough to hold to the blow of whatever Yaksamon was, right? For some reason, neither Mai nor Kuu wanted to legitimately test it. There was only a brief pause in their step before it activated, in hopes that the enemy would take it's 'chance' to swing, before they began running again.
After all, there were no rules saying she couldn't leave the shield before it broke, right? With any luck, it would leave Yaksamon busy with finishing -- or stopping -- his swing long enough that the group could reach Swanmon and get out of this mess as soon as possible!
Of course, Ela needed another word in, considering the most recent statement. "Who're you calling rude? You broke my house!" Swanmon was, in fact, the least rude of the intruders here! Why did everyone have to act so uncivilized in a scientists home, anyway?!

Where Yaksamon expected Sakuyamon to be, only a ball of glass-like compacted energy remained. While the vicious swing of the swordsman was enough to shatter it into a million pieces, its sudden creation was more than enough to hold him back while the biomerged pair escaped.
With Ela made her way through the gigantic whole Swammon had created, it was more than clear the group was set to get the hell out of here. The bird digimon stopped blowing wind through her technique and just started flying in front of the group. As she did, both Ela and Sakuyamon would feel they moved a lot quicker! It was almost as if the wind was in their favor, pushing them forward to help them get away.
“I’ve been waiting for you, Doctor Ela.” She addressed Ela, still flying in front of the pair, but partially turning her head back to see the little Terriermon. “I decided to hide near your home because I knew you were coming back someday. I just knew it!” She declared, somewhat happy to have been right, after all. Then, she gazed back, noticing the enemies closing in. “I… don’t think we have much time, so I won’t be able to explain a lot.” The assistant to the Princess added.
The Swammon fluttered her wings more intensively in order to help everyone move faster as the pair would be forced to bounce over the roofs of the multiple houses of the Hana Kingdom. Progressively, this had turned into a very intense chasing, and there was no time to stop!
“Doctor, you’re the only hope to save our Kingdom. Your research on the dreams and the way data is stored in the mind of digimon will be key to protect Princess Alissa. No matter what, you can’t let these evil digimon get you, please.” As well as she could, the Swammon attempted to explain things as they kept moving. However, Yaksamon, Leo, and Lea, kept increasing their speed too. Eventually, both Butterflamon would start shooting barrages of energy towards them. Did Sakuyamon have any technique to protect them from this?
“Listen, Doctor. My skill allows me to open portals. I will take you to Kona, the Second Assistant to the Princess. He went to the Human World looking for her and… I just can hope they haven’t found him. N-No… I know they haven’t.” Did she know? What if more enemies were waiting for them there? “He will explain everything a lot better. I know all of this is sudden, but you have to trust me. These digimon…” She made a pause, turning back to see their chasers launch another burst of techniques towards them. Could Sakuyamon keep them away much longer?
“… they represent the worst threat our Kingdom has ever faced. Your home... no, everyone's home is in great danger.”
