A deeplane dinner party (Deeplane members)

“ Hmmm hmm..hmmm hmmm….when was the last time I had a dinner party…?” Littorio flowed through the kitchen, bending down to check the gigantic calzone in the oven, smiling widely as she saw it was pretty close to being finished. Good thing too, for her guests would be arriving soon. Burnt food was hardly the most ideal way to make a good impression upon people and Littorio definitely did want to make a good impression. She was going to be working closely with Deeplane’s council after all. She stepped away from the oven momentarily and opened one of her cupboards, removing a bottle of red wine and a large steel bucket. With a quick trip into the sink, and a brief scrub, it was perfectly clean and ready for ice. Luckily enough ice was pretty easy to find. With pretty much everything ready to dish up or, in the case of the pasta and sauce, merely needing to be heated up/cooked. She brushed down her apron and removed it, revealing the jeans and T-shirt she’d been wearing beneath them. Littorio retreated from the kitchen and slipped into her bathroom, changing into a plain backless dinner dress before applying makeup. Crimson lipstick and a light application of black eyeliner coupled with some flat heeled dinner shoes to pull the entire outfit together. “Ah….” She was excited. Littorio rarely had guests around, especially ones as entertaining as the members of Deeplane, so she was deeply thrilled with the prospect of showing off the cooking skills inherent to her Italian heritage.
"Are you dressed yet Lavinia?" Littorio turned her eyes over to the digimon that was her partner, disgused in the form of a blonde haired girl who was...struggling to say the least. She was flailing madly, trying to reach the zipper of her crimson dinner dress and having no luck doing so.
"Yes I'm fine." But she clearly was not fine. Littorio giggled ever so slightly and glided over to her partner, grasping the zipper and pulling it up tight but not so tight as to be uncomfortable.
"Thank you Littorio." Lavinia smiled and stood up, adjusting her dress a little before making her way to the dining room. Human fashion was so strange...

To say the least, Amelie’s car had never been so full in the history of its life. How many beings were inside at the moment, even? Three humans and four digimons, and she wasn’t even sure about that fact! It came without saying that where they could, the group was saving space, and most importantly; everyone was praying that a transit officer wouldn’t have to see such a spectacle. Getting detained was definitely not on the brunette’s priority right now.
Oh well; worrying about that was kind of pointless. At least, she was glad that mostly everyone was on high spirits. Or, at least Loire seemed to be, and her disposition was contagious enough to make Amy believe that everyone was in such a shape. Case in point…
“I can’t believe we’re all going to have dinner together at a fancy apartment! It’s been so long I could hang together with aunt Curls, aunt Kemi, aunt Aunt Jazz, Auntzu, and big brother Nei. I’m so pysched!” Yup. Even bad puns were already being used. NEVERMIND the fact that Amelie hadn’t even been mentioned. “I kinda wish that Dad could come though. But I guess that’s on him since he’s going to that cold place and stuff!”
Would everyone be able to withstand Loire’s excitement for a full evening? That was pretty hard to tell, but at the very least, their drive would be over pretty soon. Like, in this precise instant.
“This should be the address.” The driver idly commented while parking. “We gotta go to the penthouse it seems. Should be a short trip.”
Unless somebody objected and/or had other plans, the journey there would go uninterrupted, and soon enough, Amy would find herself pressing the apartment’s doorbell.

While Katherine wasn’t against dressing pretty at all, she was a bit confused regarding the level of formality of this encounter. The whole dinner thing was nice but… where were they having it? Why had she been asked to wear a dress?
The Spaniard laid her back against the front seat, taking a moment to look at the ones in the back through the rearview mirror.
“So… we’re going to meet the new member of the council.” Jazz noted, taking a curious index finger to her lower lip and looking at Anzu and Nei. “I wonder what they’ll be like.”
Without Sasha around… who knew? Maybe they could even recruit this member for the Research Division. You know, in case it was someone capable of fitting in said group!
“Well… Amy did get to meet her already, didn’t she?” Katherine noted, her green eyes drifting towards her friend for a moment. “What is she like?” It wasn’t like their blue-eyed leader was the type of person to let someone who wasn’t trustworthy into their team. If anything, the Frenchwoman was less likely to tolerate anything that didn’t fit the DLC's ideals. Still, it didn’t mean they weren't allowed to be curious about this new member!
Now, Katherine’s eyes were to explore her own clothes. A flared, dark blue dress with a black belt and classy wedges. If anything, their new member making them dress like this meant she was an elegant lady, right? That couldn’t be bad.
It wasn’t like she could dwell too much on that right now. Katherine was busy getting distracted by Loire’s UTTER ADORABLENESS. While the kind of family Amy and Asher’s digimon child (yes, the one that had hatched back in the beach, the same day Minervamon was born) had imagined in her head was a bit odd, to say the least, it was hard to question something that cute. Apparently, Loire maintained the idea that Nei was her brother, which fit the recurring thought of the Bakumon playing the role of Akemi and Katherine’s son.
Not like there was anything bad with that, honestly!
Nor was there anything wrong with Loire’s overexcitement about this endeavor.
“Are you nervous?” Jazz, who was wearing a white cut-out dress, looked at Nei with a friendly smile.
The Bakumon, holosuited into a blonde human boy (whose age could be estimated around 11 years old if someone were to judge only based on his looks) was mesmerized while looking through the car’s window. A shake of his head was delivered as a response. “I know at first I wasn’t sure about coming into the Human World. B-But.... I feel quite safe when I’m with all of you.” He timidly answered.
That was good! Jazz was actually quite happy to be able to share some time with Nei. The dream-eater, the bunny, and Anzu were actually a quite sound trinity who shared a more than solid friendship. Everything was better when the three of them were together!
... But enough about that.
It was a matter of time before the group found itself ringing that doorbell. It was time to get things started.

"I can only make educated guesses here, honestly..." One could never tell with Amelie's picks of the litter when it came to prospective Council members. Seriously, she had been told there were new members twice and...well, let's not speak of that.
Akemi and Anzu were, naturally, all for spending some quality time with the team members. ...Even if she didn't expect to be breaking out a fancy dress for the evening. The one she was garbed in was even darker than Katherine's, being a black compared to her dark blue. It even had a complimentary hairband to go with it. Wasn't that nice? "A penthouse and dresses...What sort of impression does that give already, Kath?" She inquired. She was desperately trying to pay attention and not be distracted by the Amaya curse of only being fixated on utterly adorable things like Loire.
The bean, on the other hand, was in her holosuit with a light pink dress, and sticking EXTREMELY closely to Jazz. Like, closer than she usually was. "It's good you feel safe...I'd be surprised if you didn't, given how long we've been together. ...Excited to see a penthouse for the first time?" She looked between Jazz, Loire and Nei at this. And disregarded the awful pun from the eel.
The journey up was pretty short, so there was really nothing else left aside from ringing the doorbell and waiting to see what was up.

The doorbell rang, echoing throughout the apartment and Littorio would gracefully slide over. She carefully opened the door, a smile spreading across her lips as she saw who was at her door. Akemi she recognised but everyone else were total strangers, still given how they were with Akemi that could only mean one thing! “Hello there Amelie my dear~ I assume these are all the members of Deeplane I have yet to meet? Do come in. Dinner will be ready momentarily.” She stepped to one side, extending her arm out to gesture for everyone to enter. The Italian counted the heads of everyone who entered, taking note of their faces but paying noticeably more attention to the cuter of the females among the group.
"Oh~ Akemi, my you do look rather delectable in that outfit~ Come in come in~" She shot a sly wink at Anzu as the "Bean" walked past.
Lavinia looked up from the book she had been reading, a brief glance satisfying her curiosity as she, with an offhanded wave, returned to devouring the contents of the history book in her hand. As wonderful as the library’s in the digital world were, the Lady Devimon had long since exhausted many of its more interesting books hence why she was simply delighted to have access to the local human library. “ If you would all like to mingle I’ll bring beverages out in a moment. Our starters should be ready in ten minutes.” Littorio would lock her front door once everyone was inside then slip away to the kitchen, returning moments later with a large bucket of ice that contained two bottles of wine. She carefully placed the bucket down in the centre of the table before returning, yet again, to the kitchen. This time she would gather up the wine glasses and a cartoon of orange juice for those unable/unwilling to drink wine. “ I have no issue with the minors trying wine but only have a sip okay?~ I’ve got some cola if orange juice is not to anyone’s taste.” Littorio smiled sweetly before looking around at the gathered faces. “ Hmmm….so Amelie and Akemi. How about you two lovely dears introduce me to everyone I don't know?~” The Italian sat down upon a nearby chair, smug grin covering her face as she folded one leg over the other which just so happened to expose her rather perfectly maintained skin. Quite the troupe was currently occupying the car, that was for sure! Amelie took some seconds to examine everyone through the rearview. It was comforting to know that they had the ability to be friends in addition to being teammates, in all honesty.
She wouldn’t be able to dwell on that little fact for too long, however. Soon enough, Katherine was echoing one of the doubts that Jazz had previously raised, and that resulted in her pondering on an answer to it. And on wondering if Akemi and Anzu had gotten a sudden case of amnesia, to boot.
“Uh…” She found herself at a bit of a loss first. Could she be blamed, though? “Akemi and Anzu already know about her. I thought you’d have been told about her already.”
Confusion was evident on her voice. Luckily, it didn’t last long. Maybe the two girls who had met Littorio before just needed a refresher. “Well, appearance wise, Littorio’s like… probably the oldest or second-oldest person I’ve known involved in this whole digimon business. She’s a bit shorter than me, her hair is a lot like Curls’, except that longer and less curly. When it comes to her personality, she kinda gives off the impression that she’s some kind of Yamato nadeshiko, but at the same time, that she knows precisely what she wants and that will strive towards it. I’ve seldom been approached by someone and then told ‘I want to join’ so candidly. Other than that, things seem pretty fine with her! But, I guess you’ll get to know her eventually and draw your own conclusions. I, for one, want to find out how well she cooks.”
And impish grin was good at conveying that she was half-joking. Most of those comments flew over Loire’s head, the youngest on the car instead focusing on Nei’s own struggles in the human world. How did she pretend to solve that? Well, considering her position and the fact that she was relatively small, she just tried to hug the Bakumon’s holosuited form from behind.
“Everything will be fine, don’t worry! You’ll see we’ll have a lot of fun together!” At least at the moment, she didn’t seem to be very aware of the special bond that the other three digimons shared, but it wasn’t like she minded either way. The door wouldn’t remain unopened for a lot of time, it seemed! Littorio had been quite fast at answering, and soon enough, both parties were staring at each other shortly before being invited to come inside. “Heyo! Thanks for inviting us, Littorio!”
Loire herself waved at their hostess before following the troupe inside. To say the least, the apartment was quite spacious and looked pretty luxurious. And comfy; that was important. The small digimon was quick to take a seat in what looked like the comfiest spot of the first couch she found. Amelie, on the other hand? At least for the moment, was a bit too focused on introducing everyone while the rest hopefully got comfortable and answered to Littorio’s own inquiries.
“Well. I besides Akemi, Anzu, and myself…” Her finger began to trace through the location of everyone present besides the aforementioned individuals. “This is Katherine; she’s one of my best friends. Over there’s Jazz, her digimon. Then there’s Nei, who’s Katherine’s and Akemi’s kid and.” Small pause, maybe she was going too fast. Not like she had a lot left anyway. “Finally, Loire over here is my own. She’s also Nei’s younger sister, even if the notion is slightly confusing. That should be all of us! Hope we all can get along well.”
Now, with that said. “A drink sounds pretty good though. Thank you.”
Would the rest go more in-depth when introducing themselves? At least at the moment, Loire seemed to prefer the comfort of her seat while she waited for the food to arrive. It was a pretty telling sign of how hungry she was.

While it was understandable Amelie was not aware of Akemi and Katherine not talking to each other with much frequency in the last month, the Spaniard did find interesting her friend had decided to start by physically describing Littorio. In all honesty, her appearance was probably the aspect that less interested Jazz and Katherine. However, she was probably right about letting them draw their own conclusions once they met her.
On his part, Nei showed an honest smile to her little sister. The support was much appreciated. Although the Bakumon was definitely not the more sensitized of the group regarding Loire’s sheer cuteness, it was hard to not appreciate anything coming from such a sweet girl!
The moment of meeting the DLC’s newest member had come and the group had arrived at their host’s abode. “Thank you for having us.” Katherine, Jazz, and Nei all bowed when going by the tall woman who was receiving them. Formalities were something you couldn’t simply take away from them, after all.
Ten minutes until the starters arrived, huh? That let them with just about enough time to meet each other. “It’s nice to meet you.” The same sentence accompanied Katherine and Jazz’s wave when Amelie went by them in her round of introductions. Nei, on his side, added a little something else. “My name is Oneiros, but you can call me Nei.” He noted. “It’s nice to meet you, miss.”
It was only when Amelie had finished talking that Jazz addressed a little something. “Am I not one of your best friends too, Shisei?” As usual, the holosuited Lopmon maintained a playful attitude when she was near Amelie, so a tone that denoted there was some teasing involved was evident.
“This is a very nice place. I wish I had these views of the city.” Katherine remarked, taking a quick glance at the giant window. For a moment, her green eyes trailed towards their host. She could definitely spot some similarities regarding hers and Littorio’s hair. Were they similar in other aspects too, though?
Nei, on his side, let the adults talk. After asking Akemi to serve him some juice, he trailed towards the blonde girl reading a book by herself. Timidly, the holosuited Bakumon just stared at her, wondering what she might be reading. He enjoyed reading too, after all.
For now, what Lavinia had in front of her was a small, meek, blonde boy that looked around the age of 10, wearing a dress shirt under a black jacket, just timidly staring at her.
Nei curiously placed his index finger over his lower lip. It was a shame he was too shy to engage in conversation.

Alright, alright. It took a bit, but Akemi's memory was jogged. Right. The italian lady. "...Amy's spoken to her more than I have. So, I figured you'd be more suited to tell Katherine about her than I was. Plus...I was trying to be rhetorical! If that's how you use the word, anyways..." Plus, with a description such as that? Akemi felt like she didn't need to try adding onto that.
After all, the girls were here to draw their own conclusions, not have them influenced. "Hi again." Akemi decided to greet Littorio curtly. The Italian's conclusions on her outfit were...Debatable, in Akemi's own opinion. It wasn't really anything special. It was, quite literally, just a dress.
Also, Amelie handled introducing everyone, which just left Akemi and Anzu to nod politely as they walked inside. "They're good allies and...really close friends of ours, so I'm hoping we can all get along." Akemi said, taking note of the...grandeur of the place. This was arguably as nice as Deephold. Except it was a view of home instead of a view of the fruits of labor.
After she went and served Nei juice, Akemi opted to stick close to Katherine. It seemed like she was content to remain quiet for the moment. Anzu, meanwhile...gravitated right towards Jazz and Amelie. "If I may unsubtly weigh in, I think we're both Amy's best friends, no?" Teasing or not? There was an opportunity for something wholesome here. But would that be taken? Who know.
"So, if I may inquire...What are the starters?" Akemi felt like that was appropriate to ask. What the heck were they preparing for?
