[Open] After the Rain Comes...?

Lulu opened her eyes for the very first time since she died. She was vaguely conscious since she was resting, so she knew that... she wasn't a full Digimon now. She could feel the presence Lili and Lala's presence, as well. Despite the small pang of annoyance she couldn't help but feel relieved that the three were still together even after death. Still, the environment around her was... rather odd. She felt around, realizing that she had a body. A strange body, at that. She squirmed around to get feel for it. It was shorter than her usual body. Less mature, too. It was a similar shape to her body, but it was almost as if she were a...
She got out of her bed without even bothering to fold up her futon, looking into a full-length mirror with a single large crack running through it. Sure enough, staring back at her through the fragmented glass was the face of a human. She touched her face only to immediately flinch in pain. There were dark spots on both sides of her face. Bruises? Did she cause those? How exactly did this happen? She crossed her knew arms thoughtfully, but Lulu wasn't much one for thinking. Eventually she drew a blank, shrugged her shoulders, and stepped outside the room, only to be immediately be lambasted by a group of older humans that began to ask her questions she had no answers to. She tried to ignore them and leave, but they insisted that she change into her uniform and head to school. She also heard them call her, "Honoka".
She had absolutely no idea where this school was, so she just floundered about the city for a few hours. She had a couple of kids her body's age and attempted to follow them inside to their school, but she was denied entry and told that she didn't belong there. Lulu wanted to kick the smug guard in the face, but managed to restrain herself. She heard human bodies weren't that tough, and the one she was in seemed to be relatively damaged as it was.
So Lulu wandered aimlessly, balancing on the railing of a bridge while staring at the strange pink and green device she held in her hand. This was those things that some humans used to control spirits, right? So does that mean... this human managed to draw Lulu and her sisters in? Or most likely, Lili managed to sucker the human into taking them in. She never did like to stay in one place for too long. Still, it raised the question in her mind; if the human was a spirit user and took the form of dead Digimon, what exactly was Lulu doing moving around in her body? And why exactly were Lili and Lala sleeping right now.
Still, her thoughts were broken up when she began to hear gasps as more groups of people began to stare at her. What exactly was going on here? She was just standing on top of the railing! Sure it was a little narrow, but this body had a surprisingly good sense of balance. Besides, if she fell, she could just fly back up, so there wasn't a problem in that regard!
Seriously, were the bruises on her face that noticeable or something?

Morning classes? Cancelled. A somewhat frustrated brunette traversed Shibuya’s streets, undoing the path that connected her apartment and the university. Had she known this before, the morning would’ve been spent doing something else, like giving her place a much-needed cleanup after last week’s incident, or simply sleeping in like she had done for the last five or so times she had attempted to do such a thing.
A sigh escaped Amelie's lips as her pace slowed down a bit; it was weird, but she didn’t feel like hurrying at the moment. She had places to be, but she didn’t particularly feel like bothering at the moment.
What a slog.
After an indeterminate amount of time, that bleak mindset and Amelie’s own reverie was broken when she realized she had been walking through the length of a bridge that was not quite on her usual road home. Had her subconscious sidetracked her? She wouldn’t have enough time to think about that, given that a collection of gasps, people pointing and muttering, and even a stray cellphone or two taking a picture or filming refocused her attention towards… nothing less than a young teen that didn’t have a better idea than to balance on the railing.
Two things became piqued the young woman's attention after giving her a glance; the first one was that she was wearing a uniform, meaning that she most likely was skipping school. The second? That she did little to hide the D-Tector currently in her hand. Considering how blocky those things were, there was simply no way for it to not be noticed.
In short? At a glance, it seemed like this situation had a plethora of ways to just not end well at all. After another sigh on Amy’s behalf, she began to approach the thrill-seeker's location.
“Hey.” She greeted, somewhat informally. “Would you mind coming down so we can talk a bit? There’s probably a couple things you need to know.”
Now, that wasn’t awkward or suspicious at all, but there was really a better way to address somebody balancing on a bridge’s railing? For all Amy knew, this girl could be a nutjob. Or worse.

If there was anything Omen was considered skilled at, it was probably finding new ways to get lost and end up in places she probably should not be at at this moment in time. Such an example would be the Human World. It was relatively simple to get to, by virtue of Trailmon being able to go there with impunity. It was even simpler to blend in, just throw on the Holosuit she bought at the terminal and she was good to go.
And to make matters a little better?
She had arms now!
Which was kind of weird, all things considered. It was a foreign feeling to suddenly have limbs after a while of not having them....Omen counted her blessings and opted to wander wherever the road(s) took her, and inevitably ended up on a bridge.
A super long bridge, which seemed pretty neat. They weren't made like the bridges one would see in the other world. A long bridge that had...people at it, all gathered around something. So, the girl walked up and, in the most unsubtle way of all...
Inquired.
"What's...What's going on here?"

Lulu's head turned toward a voice that called out to her. She seemed to be getting a lot of attention, but everyone else was just staring at her or pretending not to notice her. She saw a tallish human, at least compared to all the short people around here (though standing on the railing, Lulu's perception was a little biased), with bright blue eyes. She spoke in a familiar tone, as if she knew the human whose body the spirit was currently in possession of.
Lulu crossed her body's arms as she debated going to talk to her. If they did know each other, having a conversation would be kind of a pain. She hated just nodding and smiling, going along with whatever someone else said. But at the same time she could maybe learn a thing or two about why she was currently in this state. It took a long second for her to make the decision, and in that time, a much smaller human had asked what was going on. Lulu just shrugged at her inquiry and hopped off the bridge and back onto the pavement. There were a few people who let out sighs of relief, another who clapped for a couple seconds, realized no one else was clapping, and awkwardly walked off. Soon enough, the crowd was beginning to part.
"Hey, how's it going... You!" She said in an overly familiar tone, though she stuttered for a second when she tried to think of a name she had couldn't possibly know. She walked up to the woman an playfully slugged her in the arm, though the spirit's body felt awkward doing so. Was this human she possessed not much of a puncher? Shame. "It's been a while... man!"
She didn't seem to pay the smaller human any mind, nor did she recognize anything off about her in the slightest. Perhaps being in a human body dulled her senses, or because she was a spirit she had lost them entirely.

Crisis averted! Amelie’s completely inconspicuous words had managed to prevent a possible tragedy. That was a good thing! What wasn’t as good was that, given the following reaction, her initial assessment had been correct. Girl surely behaved like a total nutjob.
But at least it was the totally harmless kind of nutjob, which was completely fine. The brunette couldn’t help to giggle at her trying a display of familiarty that came comically short.
“Guess my name’s you now.” She had to make a conscious pause, as laughter attempted to overtake her tone. “Doing not so bad, even though I’ve been better. It’s been almost a lifetime since we last met, don’t you think?”
The temptation to play along was just too high Amy might’ve just given into it. Not the first time, for sure. “How’ve you been? You weren’t doing too shabby on that railing.”
It was then when the brunette noticed a pretty short girl approaching the scene and questioning how odd it was. For a reason she couldn’t explain, Amelie felt a certain air of familiarity towards the child. Had she met her before? Or maybe, had she met her mother/s before?
In any case, she spared some moments in order to squat a bit until she was at eye level with the newcomer. Then patted her head in a comforting manner. “Hi. Don’t worry about what happened; all’s fine now.” Amelie’s tone was doing a pretty decent impression of a soothing voice at the moment. “Are you okay? You’re not lost, are you? I can help you search for your parents if you are.”
Giving an unifying solution to these two problems that were happening at one wasn’t an easy task. Fortunately, the brunette was a pretty resourceful woman, and an idea brewing within her mind as she stood up and looked at the older girl.
“Tell you what. Why don’t we go and have a drink at the nearby cafe to catch up and that stuff? My treat. We’ll have fun!”
Would that work? Probably. Or probably not, but it was worth a shot at least.

Things had developed a little swiftly to the point where Omen felt like whatever this was...was probably(?) not going to end in disaster? Maybe? There was still a bit of uncertainty in the girl but...
Hm.
Waiting and seeing was still a viable strategy.
Of course, it took a moment for Omen to realize that one of the people she was watching had approached her. There was familiarity about the blue-eyed girl for some reason, and it took her being patted to realize...That was no coincidence. That memory she kept having whenever someone so much as dared to touch her head was something to do with this person.
"I-I'm fine. I don't think I'm lost." What are parents? "...A drink sounds cool. It's nice that whatever that was seems to have passed, too..." No, you're not supposed to talk to strangers, you moron.
Otherwise the girl was very unsure what she should be doing. Running off? Viable. But you look stupid if you do it. Hm. Would she even be permitted to follow?

All Lulu could do was smile and nod when the woman actually seemed to know her body's human. Or even worse; she didn't know but was intent on screwing with her. If it was the latter, she wanted to kick the woman in the face, but if it was the former she would probably want to kick herself in the face. Well... kick this human girl's face, at least. But Lulu would still feel the pain. So as the woman went over to give the little human girl a headpat she began to wonder if this body was even flexible enough to kick herself in the face... she would have to test that out later.
But later... what exactly did later mean? Was Lulu going to be controlling this body forever? And what was going to happen when Lili and Lala woke up? And why the hell was she controlling a human body in the first place. She didn't know too much about humans with Digivices, but weren't the humans supposed to be the one using the spirits!? She wanted to pull her body's hair out as her thoughts kept going around in circles, but when the woman turned back around to her she played it cool and nodded.
"Y-yeah. That does sound like fun," She replied, then her eyes widened as she realized something.
Shit! She wasn't even paying attention to what the lady said! What the hell did she just agree to!?
Thankfully she heard the little girl speak up. Something about getting drinks. She gave a sigh of relief as she nodded to the little girl. "Well, if you're all by yourself, then you should probably come with us, too!"
She didn't understand it so well, but if humans were so weak, then a human baby would be super-ultra weak, right? She didn't understand why this little human was outside of the human world's village of beginnings.

‘I don’t think I’m lost’. Well, wasn’t that a hella awkward thing for a kid to say? Not suspicious at all, mind you! It probably had to do with a couple of strangers asking questions, and the whole stranger danger deal, but at least Amelie meant well! She couldn’t know for sure with the other girl, but she looked like a nice person. Nutjob antics aside.
Amy squatted again. The height difference between the two people she was talking to would probably be the end of her knees. “Don’t worry. Everything’s under control; my friend over here is just… quite particular, you know? But that’s also what’s interesting about her!”
Yup. Everything was under control. As long as nobody tried to engage in another life-threatening activity while holding a D-Tector, everything would be fine! “My name’s Amelie, by the way! Nice to meet you!”
Given that she had handled being touched just fine, at the very least that meant she wasn’t too distrustful of them. “I actually have a daugh-.” Wait, wait, wait! No. Stop. That pause didn’t look elegant at all! “A niece that’s around your age. I’m sure that she’d love to meet you someday!”
If only she knew how right she was! That probably was a topic for another moment, however. Better focus on the present. “She kinda loves piggyback rides. Would you like one until we get to the café?”
Extremely heartwarming scene besides, if the girl’s parents where anywhere nearby, at least that way they’d be able to see it way more easily than if they walked. The decision was hers, though. Whether atop the brunette’s shoulders or not, the group would begin traveling towards a nearby café that Amy knew and was four or so blocks away.
While the trip was initially silent on the young woman’s behalf, as soon as they got away from the bridge and began to walk through a less crowded area... “Okay, first things first.” She said, addressing her magenta-haired peer, bringing her D-Tector from her skirt’s left pocket. “I don’t know much of a newbie you are, but the rule zero is ‘You never show this in public’. Got it? You’re endangering not only yourself, but everyone who has one of these as well.”
Her tone was pretty stern, but there was no anger in it; she meant to explain, not to instigate an argument. Of course, the D-Tector was stored right away “Why aren’t you at school, anyway? I’m pretty sure classes are not even halfway done at the moment.”
Now, that was a question that could instigate an argument, but still Amy found opportune to ask. It probably would give her some pointers on who she was dealing with, and had the potential to make this whole deal a lot easier. Hopefully that’d be the case!

"Pe-cul-iar..." Omen repeated that to herself, her voice briefly taking on a near-perfect impersonation of Amelie's. Oh no. It was clear now. This wasn't just a duo of nutjobs. It was a trio.
"I guess it's okay." She was not sure how to share that she had no idea where to find her parents, so these people were likely the next best people to stick with in this world. Plus, the niece-haver did feel familiar, as mentioned before.
But she needed a name to give these people. Omen sounded weird for a human, and who the hell was ever named her real name? Hm. No, she had to think, something cool and on the spot. "My name's Odette." That is by far the absolute shittiest name that anyone in the history of ever could ever think up.
Did she want a piggyback ride, though? "...I'd love one! I think your niece sounds cool, so...I want to meet them one day, too." So, assuming that this was what ensued during the whole trip over, she was then privy to...
Oh god, these people were both tamers? Of some variety. "Definitely don't do that. ...What kind of...What kind of digivice is that? What's it do? I've never seen it. C'mon, tell me!" She whispered. Was this smart? Maybe not, but she knew they'd understand what she was saying, right?

Lulu wasn't sure to make of this scenario. A strange little girl being given a piggyback ride by someone her body's owner may or may not know, walking alongside them to get some cafe stuff. The child certainly seemed to be able to do impressions, though, as she seemed to do a decent imitation of this Amelie person. Still, Lulu couldn't comment on the strangeness on a stranger picking up a child and just carrying them off, as she wasn't familiar enough with the human world.
But as they got down a less-frequented path, this Amelie person suddenly began a lecture. First there was something about not having the Digivice be seen in public. Seeing as she was balancing the device on one finger while she was walking, she dropped it into her hand. "Well how the hell was I supposed to know that one?" She asked, perhaps a little too defensively. "The humans I've met in the Digital World didn't seem to care whether or not this thing gets seen. In fact, I've heard some people would flash them like they're some sort of badge, or something!" Still, she put the device away just in case. She didn't exactly know what would happen to her if she lost the device, and she didn't particularly care for finding out, either.
Then came the subject of school, again? Seriously, what was with humans and this fascination with school? Shouldn't humans be learning through more practical methods? Like how to hunt and survive, or at least not be eaten by a rampaging Monochromon? "If anyone ever bothered to tell me where this school place was I'd be glad to head off there, stir up some trouble!" She replied with a shrug, then jerked her thumb towards herself. "This one's family just told me to head over there... oh, and to put these clothes on, which I managed to do all by myself, I might add!" She twirled around as if displaying her school uniform as if it were some kind of great achievement.
Then the child starting asking off questions at rapidfire. "Well, this thing lets humans turn into Digimon, is all. Dead Digimon get mashed up into statues somehow, and left to rot in the ground for Ygg knows how long. Then some human comes along, decides you can't rest in peace just yet, and... BAM!!!" She slammed her fist into her open palm. There was a loud smacking sound, but she barely felt any pain from the impact. Weak-ass human arms. "You're just a slave to their will as they get to move around in your former body!"
Lulu realized she was letting a little too much information about herself slip but at this point she was both too annoyed and tired to care.

Well, wasn't this group peculiar? Not only the older girl was quite the crazy one, but the kid in front of her was… quite loony on her own. Could this situation get any better? Chances are it could, but it'd take a a lot.
"Quite the impressive talent you got there." Amy said, quite surprised about how she had pretty much listened to herself talking through another person. That was kind of an idle comment, though, especially in the face of introductions! After taking a mental note about how the magenta-haired girl had conveniently avoided to introduce herself, the brunette smiled at Odette.
"That's a cute name. I like it!" Taking into account the name's origins and how her features were mostly Caucasian, the following question only made sense. "Could it be that you're French as well? That'd be quite the coincidence!"
Things had managed to take a turn for the better, the previously-tense situation had managed to wind down greatly. It was true that a lecture was underway, and that would result in an argument of sorts, but that was still preferable over what was happening at the bridge.
That didn't mean Amelie wasn't thoroughly surprised by the events that unfolded. Not only Odette demonstrated that she seemed to thoroughly know about the Digital World and what digimons were about, but it seemed like, at least judging by her words, the other girl wasn't quite human. Or, at least, that her consciousness wasn't.
Being perfectly honest with herself, Amy had expected this conversation to be a hard one. Just not this hard. Piecing this puzzle had become notably easier, at least.
She took a deep breath. "Sorry for that." She apologized genuinely. "If I knew I wasn't talking to a human, I wouldn't have taken some things for granted. Guess you've met her not long ago; that'd explain why you're so clueless about how this world works."
Whoever was the true owner of the body would probably explain the spirit the ins and outs of this world once they had some time between themselves, but at least the very basics could be explained. "On this world, digimons are a secret, and it's on everyone's best interests for it to remain that way. The potential rift between chosen and non-chosen humans is not something we need over here, really."
Just imagining what would happen if word came out was enough to give her a headache. "Whoever's the true owner of that body will let you know everything you need to know about her life once she wakes up, even though…"
The elephant in the room hadn't been addressed. This had the potential to be super bothersome. "Why are you using your human's body without her being present in the first place? That's not something very common; is it related to those bruises?"
While this spirit was prone to spit hot takes at an amazing speed, at least it didn't seem bad-intentioned. Some of her explanations were clearly mistaken, though. Some annoyance was obvious on the brunette's face.
"She's basically right, except in some regards. As you can see, there is no such thing as slavery since the human and the spirits more or less cohabitate within the same body." As if she didn't fucking know about that one. "And, most importantly, the spirits themselves must be particularly powerful or have a pretty damn strong will to become spirits. You can blame yourself for that one, not the poor human that stumbled upon you and didn't know any better."
Would that put the two 'girls' at odds? It was a possibility, but some words just struck too close to home. By now the group had reached a small café, Amelie motioning to a table that was decently far from the occupied ones. Once besides the table, she went through the motions to set Odette down and took a seat.
"What about you?" This time, the question was directed at the small girl. "Are you a tamer? Or… something else?"
There weren't any Digimon around, and she didn't know what a D-Tector was, so that narrowed the scope of possible digitally-aware beings to exactly one. However, Amelie preferred to hear it from her rather than just say it out loud.

"...Way too big to be a badge." Odette (let's see how long the author of this post can stick to this) uttered. At the very least, the magenta-haired girl had the courtesy and capability to answer her questions, even if the answers themselves proved to be a bit macabre in Omen's eyes. "That sounds spooky...You shouldn't really mess with the dead like that. Or make people slaves either..."
Idealistic, sure, but...she's a kid, you can't really expect much more than just this, truthfully.
However, that was a lot of stuff that an ordinary human wouldn't say. So...This was an odd case. What was this magenta-haired girl? Who was she? Of course, regarding her name? Or choice of name? She had a delayed reaction. "Thank you." She replied to Amelie. She didn't come up with it herself. But. "...Yes." SHE WAS TOTALLY FRENCH. ROLL WITH IT. MAYBE SHE'LL BELIEVE IT?
What followed was a long and somewhat informative lecture regarding the state of affairs within the human world (something she got a hinting of on that Tamernet place) and a guess at who the other girl that wasn't giving her a piggyback ride was. Likely a dead Digimon possessing a human. Hm. Weird.
The walk continued, and they inevitably got to a cafe. Not that Odette knew what this was, of course. Odette was quiet for a few moments after she was set down. Should she just...come clean?
...She did show she was at least digitally aware.
There was likely no harm in this. No permanent harm at least.
"...I'm not human, no." It was quiet, but it was at least able to be heard.

Lulu listened intently as Amelie gave her the rundown on Digimon-human affairs when in this world. So Digimon couldn't be seen under the light while humans got to go prancing around the Digital World, making cites and the like? That sounded a little more than a little unfair to her, but politics weren't really the former Kazemon's main interest. The woman then began to question her and the Digimon shrugged her shoulders.
"Beats me," She answered. "Just woke up for the first time this morning. Got pulled in with my sisters while I was asleep, I guess. But everyone else is asleep, and this human ain't exactly responsive whenever I try callin' out to her. Not that I'd know exactly how to do that in the first place. I dunno how it was with your ghost pals, but this whole being a Spirit thing didn't exactly come with an instruction manual."
She watched as the woman's face expressed a hint of irritation as she corrected Lulu. Well excuse her for not knowing how things worked once more. Bossy-skirt. Amelie's corrections didn't seem too far-fetched, but the last part struck a nerve with the possessive spirit. "Well I hope you can understand that I might be more than a little pissed off about the whole dying thing. Trust me, if I knew I'd be stuck in this weak-ass body I'd have gone back the the Village... Especially if I knew I'd be in such pleasant company here..." She gave a quick glance to... Odette, was it? "Short people excluded, of course."
Even so, she continued with them to the cafe, taking a seat. She crossed her legs, leaned back in her seat and folded her arms over one another. The little girl revealed that she wasn't a human, which seemed to make sense. She was some little Digimon in disguise. Or just some big Digimon that really wanted to know what it was like to be short. Didn't seem like a big deal, so she turned to Amelie with a smirk on her face.
"So what are you getting me? I don't know the first thing about this human's tastes, but you did say it was your treat!"

This situation had managed to turn from tense to frustrating relatively quickly; oh well, at the very least Odette had managed to sprinkle some common sense in what sounded like a madmon’s rambling.
“What city are you from? I was born in Toulon.” Finding a compatriot in a foreign nation wasn’t all that common, so showing interest in that facet of the little girl’s personality was more than justifiable! Pity she was setting herself up for disappointment.
Such an exchange would only be the prelude of a way more heated conversation between the two older girls. The fact that the shorter one was pretty much clueless didn’t contribute at all.
“I guess that your human must’ve gone through something pretty traumatic if that ended up with you being in charge. At least that’s everything I can think up at the moment.” Despite how the spirit in charge had quite a number of unlikeable traits, the brunette tried to be as helpful as she could. “It’s a tad weird, since most spirits I’ve met tend to be ancient and wise beings, but I guess that’s not really a requisite.”
The two were going to be on pretty weird terms, weren’t they? It was obvious that there was some friction going on between them, but that seemed impossible to avoid, given how their viewpoints on certain topics were diametrically opposed.
“I can understand being pissed off at dying, but could you please be a tad less selfish? That ‘weak-ass’ body as you call it, is a human with her own wishes and aspirations who probably isn’t hype about being involved in something as life-threatening as the Digital World. And, unlike you, who can just go back to the warm coziness of an egg once everything has been said and done, if she fucks up, that's the end of the road for her. No second, third, or whatever number of chances you’ve gotten thus far. Might as well have a little patience with her, don’t you think?”
She didn’t mind to be called unpleasant, especially if it was for saying those words. There were few things that annoyed Amelie more than spirits being careless —or potentially abusive— with their hosts. The young woman just shrugged at the passive aggressive attempt as the group sat.
Just in time for the big reveal. Oh well; so much for that. ‘Odette’ —if that was even her name— could be forgiven, mostly because that revelation piqued the brunette’s curiosity even further. “Then… do I know you? I have no idea why, but I have the feeling we’ve met before.”
Since no preference had been stated by either party, Amy gestured at the waitress, and after some minutes, she came back with a tray that had two strawberry smoothies, a teapot with its corresponding cup, and a small assortment of sweet and salty pastries. With any luck, they’d be to the group’s liking.
“Anyway, since we’re here, your human is taking a nap, and the two of you seem pretty inexperienced about how this world works, feel free to ask anything you’d like to know.”
In the meantime, she’d begin to pour herself some tea.

"Nice." Odette said, quietly as usual in response to where Amelie had been from. Toulon sounds like a cute place, but Odette evidently did not know that Nice...was a French city too. She looked at the magenta-haired girl and tilted her head. "I'm not short, I'm just not done growing." She stated in a -perfect- representation of Lulu's voice.
Probably pretty apt on her part, except...why did she feel the need to throw the girl's voice back at her? Hm?
Either way, she kept on staring at the human-being-piloted-at-the-moment. "While I understand your frustration, please keep your...um. Your friend's well being and interests in mind. Humans are fragile..." While it was nothing as good an explanation as what Amelie had provided? It still worked as the group sat down for Odette's reveal.
It didn't really hit as hard as she thought it would, which was a bit relieving, actually. "I...don't know, actually. You do feel familiar, like I've met you before, but I don't...remember ever meeting you in my life. Short as it's been..." Odette spoke before she trailed off. Why?
Why couldn't she tell who Amelie was?
Guh.
This was getting irritating already. "What's tea taste like? ...And...what fun stuff is there to do around here? Aside from be here, that is."
