What better way to spend the evening of a long, tiring, exciting day, than to do next to nothing at all?
Syre and Cion were on the same wavelength on that front, and it didn't take them long to settle into a night of cheap indulgence and entertainment. There was no energy nor need to cook, the mostly-eaten take-out resting on the coffee table as the cat and fox leaned into each-other, cuddling up as they watched B-Rate television and movies on the flat-screen. Sometimes, it fit that perfect vein of 'so bad that its good', and the two would share a nice, hearty laugh.
But really?
Syre was content. This was to just be the first night, the first of many that would be stretched out before them. And sure, not every one would be picture perfect, and not every one would be filled with their best foot forward. But despite jumping into the unknown, well...
... Syre liked who she was jumping into it with. She cuddled up close, gave a peck to Cion's cheek, and stared right at the screen.
"... Yeah, I can see why we never saw 'Reality TV' at home." Syre shook her head, chuckling at the sheer forced ridiculousness of it all.

Cion too was fully content with what she had, both in regards to the present she savored and the future she looked forward to. Of course this was merely the first night of innumerable to come, but this was of absolutely no concern to her. Certainly there were bound to be days that were less ideal, filled with personal and universal hardships they had to face. However, she did not fear this truth. The opposite was the case - she was almost eager to tackle and overcome these often mundane trials. After all, beyond the tribulations of today lay the bliss of tomorrow.
Hence she was not afraid of jumping into the unknown either. How could she in the company of someone so utterly endearing, candid and comely as her dearly beloved Syre? The kittenish peck she sensed on her cheek only served to reassure this notion of affection, causing her to murr quietly and grin brightly. No beating around the bush, nor unnecessary bashfulness. Their bond was genuine, innermost and perfectly wonderful. It was a dream that had become reality - a gift she cherished and fostered with every ounce of her being.
Gently nuzzling her darling's jowl, the silver fennec was quick to return her focus to the show at hand as well. "Indeed - it's trash, but good trash." She argued in jest, For a convivial evening, such shoddy entertainment was well-nigh ideal. Therefor, as occasional laughter echoed throughout their new home, the outside and inside alike became darker with every passing moment. It was not before long, at least it felt this way, that the tiny fox's aureate eyes turned heavy. Blinking frequently as her limbs got slightly numb, she noticed the time on the digital clock. "Quarter to midnight ? Oh dear..."
Straightening up although still sitting, the bonny lady was not shy to have an extended and in sight stretch. Might as well have her sweetheart enjoy her slenderly gracile frame. Ultimately releasing the tension of her muscles though, she tilted her head to look at the onyx feline with a soft smile. "Uhm... you said that you wanted to repurpose the small bedroom, right? Does that mean... you know?" Cion asked somewhat diffidently, yet there was evident tactfulness and playfulness in her dulcet voice. She definitely would not say no.

A quarter to midnight?
Oh, how quickly the night crept up on them! As the pair was half enamored by cheap television, the city had turned from the calm evening to the bustling nightlife, the light of the sky replaced with the lights of the city. They were isolated enough from it, of course, and it would simply be a matter of drawing the curtains on the windows to pull themselves in for the night.
"Mhm..." With a tired blink, Syre would pull herself away from the blanket, stand on all fours, and move to stretch out her back while stifling a yawn. Her ear would flicker, eyes opening to steal a glance of the playful fox's frame. "Heh." That chuckle was paired with a slight blush on her cheeks, and a small nod shortly afterwards.
"Of course." Moving closer, the BlackGatomon would embrace the Arniomon from behind, her paws wrapping gently around Cion's waist, as the cat would rest her chin right on the fox's shoulder. "You're quite the comfortable one to be around. Somehow, well, I feel I can fall asleep a bit easier with you in my arms."
She'd smirk at that. "Or, the other way around. I ain't picky."

As Cion beheld her darling get on all fours and stretch herself, it was admittedly difficult for her to refrain from having a chuckle to herself. It was clear that Syre was a delightfully candid individual, even when it came to clichés that surrounded the stereotype of her physique. She was, really and truly, a feline, was she not? Softly shaking her head, she tried to cast these silly thoughts off her mind. After all, focusing on the... gracefully comely was a far more pleasant experience. However, staring was impolite, which was why she utilized shy glances instead.
Quietly clearing her throat, the silver fennec put a stop to the distractive and time-killing entertainment with a single push of a button. Within the spacious rooms of their new home, a dimly lit veil of tranquility suddenly manifested itself around them. The outside, a metropolis amidst all-encompassing nocturne, was the sole source of iridescent luminance, but it certainly sufficed to navigate thanks to their inherently sharp eye-sight. Regardless... it was not quite enough for a certain vulpine sentinel to not notice the ambush of a most prodigious hunter.
Following her playfully timid question, she abruptly stopped as she felt her dearly beloved's gentle yet firm embrace from behind. Gasping nearly silently as she sensed the silken paws winding and gripping her waist, it was not before long that the onyx cat rested her pretty face on her shoulder. The warm breath that carried her scent and dulcet voice streamed past her cheek's fur and faintly tickled her skin beneath. Seldom had she experienced such a sudden act of intimate togetherness, nor was she able to remember how overwhelmingly wonderful it was.
Though... why had her core become so heavy, and why did it beat so rapidly inside her chest? Of course she knew the innermost answer to this mystery, but in this moment her increased awareness made her numb to the unconscious. Swallowing audibly for no other sound was present, her aureate eyes slowly shifted to the side in an attempt to look at her sweetheart. "I... feel I could also fall asleep a bit easier with you in my arms." She stated diffidently, a mix of her signature verve, grace and deliberateness in her tone.
Smiling dreamily, although she tried to repress it with all her volition in vain, an... understandable and naturally entirely innocent thought came to her mind. Should she beat around the bush, or be straight to the point? After a brief second of contemplation, the latter was likely the better approach. "But... uhm - do you... take showers after... or before bedtime?" Cion asked as her upper canines softly dug themselves into her lower lip. Did she blush? Oh dear... hopefully not.

Syre felt that shudder, felt that brief wave of tenseness slip over Cion's body. The BlackGatomon herself kept a warm smile, gently locking her hands together to keep that embrace around the fennec, nuzzling her cheek right up against Cion's. Left in the small bit of light afforded to them by the night-time window, the feline felt herself quite close to Cion, feeling not only her own core stir in her chest, but also Cion's.
"Heh..."
She understood it, of course. Even something as simple as sharing a bed was not something that Syre had done before. Sitting in the relative comfort of each-other, as the minutes of the night inched along, they couldn't help but feel that thought creep into their heads. What was just before the occasional, playful visit, they were now home. More than that, this was their home, their space... and it was going to be just the two of them.
"... Well, isn't that something to ask?" Hearing Cion stutter a bit over that question, Syre would mull it over. "Honestly, I'm the type that prefers to shower in the morning. Be nice and fresh for the upcoming day, and it helps me be nice and awake. But really..." Syre would smirk. Her hands would loosen, but she wouldn't back up, as the feline would move to rest her paws on Cion's shoulders. Gently pressing her forehead against the back of Cion's head, Syre would give those shoulders a small rub, working to get the tension out of Cion's upper back.
"I have to wonder why you're asking that in the first place." Syre teased, a warm tone in her voice as she let her digits sink a bit into the Arniomon's muscle. "Are you looking for a 'glowing' cat to cuddle over the night, perhaps? Or..."
Well. She left it at that, a smirk on her lip.

Although not quite sure why, she sensed that Syre was fully conscious of the ripples that her deeds and whispers caused within Cion's mind and body. The comely feline's enchanting empathy was one of her most prominent qualities... and she certainly knew to wield it in her favor. There was not a hint of hesitation nor uncertainty in the way she carried herself, unlike the silver fennec in this moment of overwhelmingly intimate togetherness. Atypical for the lady of grace and poise, it was her who fumbled for words, not the individual she interacted with. It was... a staggering experience, in all its conceivable meanings.
However, and this was a sentiment that had never touched her soul before in this life, the fact that she was not in full control of her situation did not confound or daunt her. No, not when it was her dearly beloved's doing. Her insurmountable grasp, her nearly omnipresent touch, the way she dismissed any sense of personal space - though her core did not cease beating with seldom endured rapidity, she nonetheless indulged herself in this indescribable minute. Just the two of them, in their shared home...
Lips trembled faintly as the vulpine gentlewoman contemplated the question she had asked. Was it that unusual, or dare she say ambiguous? Perhaps, for she had to admit that not even she was certain of its origin and intent. Nevertheless, an answer was quickly received, to which she nodded. It seemed both of them fancied morning showers for their invigorating effects on spirit and sinew alike. Good... another aspect they had in common. But why then did the charming cat smirk so kittenishly?
Almost lamenting the loss of the embrace, Cion felt Syre's pronounced claws softly pressing into her shoulder. What followed was... again beyond words. Well-nigh leaning into her as she savored the act of affection, it was difficult for the small fox to repress her murr as she closed her eyes. Was she meant to tense up further, or surrender completely to her darling's caresses? Truth be told, she was inclinded towards the latter.
"Well, I..." She started to respond under her breath, but then the unthinkable happened. For the first time, for as long as she could remember, she genuinely did not know what to say. There were a thousand excuses and deflections that entered her awareness, but her consciousness cast them aside instantly. There was no reason in beating around the bush or digressing. She simply... wished to let go, hence she did.
"... my kitty is always perfect to cuddle with - either with a beautiful glow, or her natural beauty." She responded with sudden confidence in her teasingly hushed voice. Allowing her dear to keep hold of her for as long as she desired, her cheeks widened a little thanks to a rapt smile. "But you know how accommodative I am for you, darling." She continued with the cheekiest of tiny chuckles, for she had proven this today. Tilting her head weakly so her aureate eyes would meet the amber ones of her partner, her visible bliss lingered as the edge of her muzzle hugged her ear. "So... lead the way."

In those late minutes of the night, perhaps the two darlings had learned one more thing about the other: that Syre was the forward, direct type, and Cion was one who melted into the grip of another. Even if not true throughout, it was definitely true in the moment. Syre's fingertips sank deep into Cion's shoulders, working to soften them as the fox leaned back into her. There was a cute sense of uncertainty in the fox's voice. Unsure how to answer, unsure how to act - as opposed to Syre, who pressed on, keeping Cion nice and close, confident and certain in her boisterous self.
Syre didn't reply to Cion's comment with words. Instead, Cion would feel a rumble. The unmistakable sound of the feline's purr would radiate through the fox's ear and back. "Indeed, accommodating. It might not have been your first choice, but I think you'll find that it'll grow on you. After all, no matter where it is..."
"Its with you. And for you, its with me."
And for the moment, that's all that mattered. With her forehead pressed up against Cion's own, the feline would hear that whisper, and would return one simple word:
"Gladly."
With that returned whisper, Syre would perhaps take Cion by surprise: supporting one arm against her back and another around her waist, the feline would scoop the diminutive fox up into her arms, a chuckle given as she'd hop down from the couch. Nuzzling up against the fox's cheek, it didn't take much for Syre to stride right to the master bedroom, set her darling upon it, and to climb up and nestle next to her.
Forward? Perhaps. But that was the tone of the night.

Often, deeds spoke louder than a thousand words, and tonight was no different. Instead of responding with gratitude or compliments to the way Cion openly perceived her, Syre nestled the soft tip of her muzzle against one of her large ears. The sudden yet anticipated sounds of her purr did not only reverberate throughout her petite body, but her mind as well. As a mammalian digimon, the unmistakable meaning of this act was clear as day to her. It was an innermost sign of fondness and felicity, free of ambiguity and uncertainty. And it was precisely its certainty which put her spirit at ease.
"Indeed." She commented with gentle approval in her dulcet voice. Their new residence was a place many likely envied. Moreover, she had, over the years, learned that striving towards perfection was a vain endeavor. What they had obtained was a good foundation, and once they would adapt it to their preferences it would be an ideal home to stay in. But this was an undertaking for tomorrow, not now. Besides, the onyx feline was absolutely correct - with each other at their side, innumerable days of serenity and bliss were already waiting for them, regardless of where they were.
Chuckling silently, the silver fennec was excited to witness and experience how exactly her dearly beloved intended to lead the way. As it was seldom not the case, the comely BlackGatomon subverted any and all expectations. As her sense of orientation and footing was abruptly claimed, she honestly did not know if she was supposed to scream, squeal or laugh, hence a strangely charming maelstrom of these noises escaped her lips. Gladly carried by her mighty grip, a feeling of true security and weal manifested itself within her heart. This night was... unparalleled.
Making it herself comfortable on the cozy king-size bed, a pleased sigh echoed briefly inside the quiet room. It required but a single, weak motion of a finger for the linen blinds to be closed, allowing but the faintest gleams of moonlight to accentuate the outlines of their frames. Contentedly nodding, she waited for the answer of a question posed not too long ago. And soon she realized that it was Cion who rested in Syre's arms - a lot of utmost fortune. Softly leaning her head against her chest, it was an indescribable pleasure for her to listen to the rhythmic, calm beating of her darling's core.
Shifting her aureate eyes to behold the amber ones of the graceful cat, she did so for a delightfully long time. A smile formed itself on her face, but it was not her general expression of elation. Dreamy affection eradiated from it, something she wished for her partner to be fully aware of. Its presence was entirely thanks to her. And as the gentle touch of her thumb's underside caressed her cheek, she knew that there was another certainty that was well-earned. At first, she was naturally hesitant to say it, but without venturing anything, there was nothing to be gained. And what she had gained was... beyond words and dreams. "I love you."

Cion wasn't the only one to feel bliss in this moment. The experiences that Cion had long forgotten were ones that Syre had naught experienced at all, first etched into her heart upon meeting the fox on that fateful Valentines day. And here they were, a few months later, settling down in a place of their very own, beyond the eyes of family or even the rest of the world. It was just the two of them, the mere sliver of moonlight the only witness to the two curled up next to each-other.
Syre's eyes met Cion's own, as the cat felt her arms grip gently around Cion's shoulders, holding the fox close in her loose grip. Nestling into that offered hand, a gentle purr still rumbling in Syre's chest, the feline felt herself content, to just stare blissfully into the eyes of her beloved and let those minutes tick on by. And as those three simple words entered into Syre's flicking ear, the BlackGatomon found herself giving a smile, a short nod returned to the fennec.
"I love you, too."
Nothing more needed to be said in that moment, as a gentle kiss passed from her lips onto Cion's. This night would be a gentle one - for everything that happened today, it wouldn't be long before they would be reminded of their fatigue, and their need and want to sleep into the long hours of the morning, to recharge. But for Syre, despite being a feline with no problem catching a nap when she needed one, it would still be one of the best nights of sleep she ever had.
Perhaps it would feel like several long hours, or perhaps not long at all, when the light of the warm, morning sun would shine over the pair, bringing the cat's ear to flick and body to stir... but she'd give Cion a small hug, and curl herself back up.
Even if just for a few more minutes.

These three words... oh how much Cion had longed to hear someone whisper them into her ears again. Moreover, they were spoken by an individual she held closest to her core. For once, she lacked the lexis and expressiveness to describe what they meant to her, but anew Syre was entirely right. Nothing else needed to be said in their most wonderful, idyllic moment of blissful serenity. Overwhelmed as she was, if it had not been for her poise the silver fennec would have likely shed a tear. However, sharing her feelings in an unambiguous act of fondness was better anyway.
Tonight, their kiss was neither filled with fervent passion nor playfulness, although she had briefly considered the former and indulging herself further in her innermost desires. But as she felt the gentle, warm touch of their lips softly entwining, she knew that everything was already absolutely perfect. Their first night within their new home was one of caresses and affection, and she would not have wanted it any other way. And though it was true that fatigue was bound to gnaw at body and spirit alike, she took as many moments as she could to simply look after and cherish her darling sleeping in their embrace.
Nonetheless, as the summerly sun's luminous bright orange sheen began to enshroud the digital realm again, her heavy eyelids granted but the sight of dreamy patterns amidst blackness. Usually, it was unbecoming and unusual for the lady to lay claim to the bed, and her dearly beloved, for so long, but her subconsciousness permitted her an exception this morning. Some might argue that she had earned it.
A few more minutes as her frame stirred in unison with the feline's, enjoying the motion of her slowly shifting chest and her warm, soft breath streaming past her cheek... it was truly beyond words.

"Mm... morning, Cion."
Those 'few minutes' just didn't seem to last long enough. Held in her darling's arms, Syre couldn't help but nestle her head in, right under Cion's chin, and give the fox a good morning nuzzle to start off the day. The temptation was great to just simply hold the fox close, and let the hours of the day slip by...
... But, eventually, the whims of responsibility would overtake that temptation. Pulling away from the Arniomon, the BlackGatomon would sit up, stretching out her back as she stifled a yawn. She'd pull the sheets off of her legs and would hop down shortly after. If Cion were to follow, she'd take care to straighten out the linen before she'd make her way to the living area. There was still a lot the two had to sort out in the coming days - and the first thing that immediately came to mind, was groceries! Syre found herself opening the fridge without thinking, seeming stunned for a moment, before chuckling at the bare nature of the device.
"Heh... right, right, we still need to figure out our routine before we'll have everything on hand." Whether it was because items were unpacked (or, rather, still had to be taken from the Snowflake Cabin via a portal) or whether it was just not on-hand, the two would temporarily be left with a rather bare - if well furnished - apartment.
"I guess the first part's getting a good list together? Well. After we head out to a cafe or something..."

"Mhm... morning, Syre." Cion responded with a dreamy yet rapt smile adorning her muzzle. Her voice was as hushed as it was dulcet, evidently still in the tempting grasp of repose. Fortunately, her dearly beloved knew the perfect remedy for this minor lapse of verve. Her warm embrace, the soft caresses her chin, cheek and nose received... it was as if destiny had fulfilled its promise of heaven and earth. Nonetheless, as much as she wished to cling to her darling, they both were aware of the duties that required an equal amount of dedication.
Feeling her touch of the onyx feline leaving her, the silver fennec slowly opened her aureate eyes to behold the lovely individual with whom she shared their new home. How could she possibly resist to peek when within eyeshot of such a comely gentlewoman. Chuckling quietly, she straightened herself up and softly shook her head. "No need to stifle your yawn." She spoke kindly, gently nudging the adorable cat's shoulder as a sign that she appreciated her candor. And if her cutie pie felt the urge to yawp then she would be the last to scold her, or prevent her from doing so. Perish the thought!
Naturally, the small fox did not take long to follow suit, visibly appreciating that the well-mannered BlackGatomon endorsed organization and cleanliness inside their four walls. Stepping into the spacious living area, Cion too noticed that it was, although luxuriously modern in appearance, a bit empty. They needed to consider what they intended to add to make the atmosphere more colorful and welcoming. Maybe paintings depicting natural sceneries, or a couple of shelves filled with books? Briefly scratching her forehead, her gaze soon fell upon Syre who was occupying herself with lamenting a vacant fridge.
At least the duo was able to laugh about the fact that they had totally forgotten to prepare transitional meals. Nevertheless, her partner brought forth an excellent point. "Indeed." She agreed without hesitation. The sooner they were acquainted with the other's rhythm the better. Removing the short, green scarf from her neck, she untied it to reveal the tiny Infini-Store knotted into it. Though she had resided within Vertigo's cockpit or hotels for the most part within recent years, she was primed for many eventualities regardless. It took but a moment of focus for the current generation of entertainment devices to manifest themselves in front of their large TV.
"We can scratch that off the list already." She stated in jest, remembering that they still owed each other a good trashing in a variety of family-friendly games. However, this was not the reason why she had removed her accessory from her body. With a cheeky smirk, a bath towel materialized itself in her paw. With affectionate sprightliness she tossed it towards and hopefully over the felidae's head. "Wine and dine without a morning shower? Can't overindulge you, dear." She continued to quip, a slightly toothy grin forming itself on the tip of her snout.
Eventually though she calmed down again. "Do you want to go first... or...?" She inquired, confident that her question was entirely innocent. She simply wanted to accommodate her darling to the best of her abilities. There was nothing wrong with that.

"Heh..."
With a light blush, Syre would nudge her shoulder back against Cion's, chuckling a bit at that 'allowance to yawn'. Honestly, there was going to be a bit of 'push and pull' as the two learned to adjust to each-other - an inevitability, really - but she took that note to heart, with a grin and a nod. It didn't take the two long to slip out into the living area, and to take stock with just how barren this apartment was.
... Well, save for what Cion brought with her in her Infini-Store! The cat's ear gave a flick as she looked, seeing Cion pull out a few gaming consoles (some of which Syre recognized from the library, but some which were completely new to her). With a fang-filled grin, she gave a look over some of the newer stuff: "Well, not sure if it was something that I would have thought to put on the list before. But, its certainly - eep!"
She gave a playful cry, laughing as that towel flopped over her head! It didn't take long for it to be wrapped up in a bundle in her arms, the cat shaking her head as she started to fold it up. "Already keeping me honest, hun?" She teased back, tucking the cloth under her arm as those next words hit her ears.
... And a deep blush slipped into Syre's cheeks. The question might have been innocent enough, but the connections that the BlackGatomon made in her head made it anything but.
"Y-you... I mean... uhm..." Stammering for a moment, she shook her head, doing her best to keep herself in-line at this early hour of the morning!
"... Whatever you want."

Utmostly delighted by the sight of Syre's grin, of course including the mighty fangs which adorned her pearly teeth, Cion once again took pride in foresight. While means to entertain themselves were certainly not the most important items on their thus far nonexistent agenda, it surely did not harm the cuddly duo to already have them at their disposal. Naturally, she had not purchased them for the occasion. They had been shelved in her Infini-Store for a reason after all. But what better justification to grant them a proper place than the advent of a new home and life?
Amused by the sounds of her darling's playful cry and her briefly struggling to remove the towel from her head, the silver fennec giggled heartily and softly folded her arms as an expression of cheeky smugness graced her muzzle. "As they say - It's the best policy, hun... especially for a knight in shining armor." She confidently and proudly presented her incontrovertible rationale. There was no room for doubt that this banter was in jest, and she had a tendency to over-egg the pudding when it came to affectionate jibes. Evidently, her sweetheart enjoyed this side of hers, which was a definitive win-win situation.
However, as the small fox leaned towards doing, her question which could be interpreted as an innuendo abashed the comely feline. As adorable as the pink hue on her nose and cheeks was, it simply did not suit her enchanting candor. For someone who savored to unabashedly fondle her she often expressed coyness, did she not? Cion was not quite sure how she was supposed to peel off that unbecoming layer of bashfulness, but if nothing else time would be the solution to this matter. For now, it was probably advised to just play along.
"Whatever I want, hmm...?" She repeated with a frisky smirk, obviously twisting the words of her dear to her liking. Slowly stepping towards her, the tips of their snub noses soon met as aureate eyes lingered to behold the radiance of Syre. "Interesting... but remember know how accommodative I am for you. So please..." She spoke, her voice teasingly dreamy as she shifted sideways. Allowing the end of her white, vulpine tail to graze the BlackGatomon's face, a playfully mischievous chuckle escaped her lips, with words under her breath following. "... tell me what you want."

It might not have suited Syre's candid nature, but anyone could be left stuttering when they were taken off-guard like that! The BlackGatomon tensed up a bit at the implications of Cion's innuendo, as if a thought skipped across several circuits across her head. The cat needed a moment to catch up, and fortunately, Cion was willing to give them...
... Even as it came with a few leading teases of her own. With her radiant vulpine stepping closer, Syre caught her breath, the feline feeling that tail slip across the side of her cheek. Right, there was no need to hold back here: Cion's words and poise displayed her intent, and Syre, after that momentary awkwardness, let her hands slip forward and embrace the fox, holding her darling's back against her own chest.
"Then I think I know what we both want."
Her voice was warmer, Syre's more-leading tone likely sinking deep into her darling's ears. She gave a grin, even lightly biting her lip, as she'd slowly let her paws slip away from her shoulders, teasing nails dragging gently over the fox's fur as she stepped back. Syre would give a tilt of her head, motioning for Cion to follow as she let that towel hang on over her shoulder.
"Well, grab some soap and conditioner from the Infini-Store first, if you can." Right - they were probably missing that sort of thing as well, but it seemed an item 'common' enough that Cion might have it on-hand. Either way, it was just a short trot across the bedroom to reach the master bath, and the standing shower inside, partitioned off with a frosted glass door.
At this point, Syre gave just a small tease, a warm chuckle in her tone:
"If this is what you meant, you should have let me know last night."
