Eventually Zack pulled away from her shoulder as it seemed he was much calmer. "I saw you having a meltdown so I only did what I thought would help. I only did what my mom did when her children were upset. I guess I still remembered some things she taught me years ago." Stacy said now in more control of her emotions than she was before. "I guess we understand each other cause we share a similar sense of morals." she said as Zack had eased his grip on her hand. Sure her hands were fine as her knuckles were one of the few things about her that didn't easily bruise.
Stacy managed a grin at Zack's statement regarding pretending they were unbreakable and shook her head before she said "I guess my cover as the nearly unstoppable being has been blown more than once since we met. I'm just used to carrying myself as I do since it isn't exactly a complete facade despite me being physically weak. At least we both not only play off tough people well but we have those to go to when we need a person to talk to. Sadly at times I can be too stubborn for my own good though."

"It always seems like my mom knows just what to do. Just what to say. it sounds like your mom is kind of the same." he said, finally able to take in a deep breath in and then out. he wiped his face again before he fully released her hand and was able to settle back into his seat, putting his shaky mental ground loosely back together moment by moment. "it took me a long time to finally make that one realization that turns you into an adult, you know? The moment you recognize that your parents are people, just like you. That they have no more idea of what the hell is going on than you do." he said, his eyes drifting back down to Marigold as she napped lazily on his lap. he didn't dare disturb her, his perfect, special girl.
"Though I suppose she won't have to worry about making the logical leap huh? She already knows full well just how little an idea I have of what's going on at any point in time." Zack chuckled, unable to see from the inside what everyone around him could catch with a glance. The way that Marigold still worshiped the ground he walked on, just like any other daddy's girl.

"I don't know how much of what I did was knowledge from my mother and how much was instinct but I guess I just leapt in without thinking. I guess we're more similar than I thought." Stacy said with a chuckle as she noticed Zack had released her so she scooted back herself though she was now sitting next to Zack.
"True. Despite the fact they have faults like anybody else parents are still people. About them not knowing what the hell is going on more than you would I also guess it would be depending on the information they have available." Stacy said also glancing at Marigold before she said "Marigold sure is a heavier sleeper than I am. With all the movement she had to be experiencing I would of thought she would of at least responded to it in some way even if she didn't fully stir."
"Perhaps she will know more about what's going on depending on her situation. She is a smart girl after all." Stacy said looking at Marigold with chuckle.

"Who Marigold? She could sleep through a bomb going off in each ear, well...she doesn't HAVE any ears but you know what I mean. I usually have to get her out of bed in the morning with a shovel at the very least." He says, making a physical demonstration by standing up out of his seat with Marigold still nestled in his lap. Stacy then got to see that Marigold's legs were clutched tightly around her father's legs meaning she didn't budge an inch even when he was standing stock straight. "It's basically like one of those big science fiction cuffs you see in the movies locking my legs together, I couldn't walk away right now if I wanted to." he said, slumping heavily back into his seat with a shrug and a grin. it was another absurd aspect of his baby girl but it didn't seem to bother him all that much. "And god you're right about that. She's sharp as a knife and quick as a whip. My only question is where the hell she got it from?" He said, underselling himself again.

"Wow that gives the term heavy sleeper a whole new meaning." Stacy said as Zack then stood up and Marigold clung to his legs in a way that would make moving very difficult for her father. "I doubt you wanna hop everywhere when she clings to your legs. The fact that she is able to do that while sleeping is an amazing feat in and of itself." Stacy said noticing Marigold's clinginess didn't seem to bother Zack all that much as he had sat back down on the couch.
"Don't sell yourself short, Zack. While you aren't wise as most would define it, you have definitely shown to be fairly street smart and Marigold seems to have gotten that from you." Stacy said taking her attention off of Marigold before looking at Zack hoping her words would reach him. Then she looked back at Marigold and thought for a moment before she then said "As for her being as sharp as a whip, maybe she takes after her human grandma."

"HA! Now THAT I can believe." he said, nodding along with Stacy's suggestion that Marigold had gotten a much "deeper" education from her grandmother. "You're not wrong, I try to keep her able to think on her toes and stuff. There's only so much you can learn from books even if I'm really trying to keep her well educated too. But man, I just have one of those mothers who is infuriatingly ALWAYS right. Doesn't matter what I thought I was doing, why or how, she knows better than me." he said, rolling his head back to laugh more than a little at the thought, shaking his head.
"As for hopping everywhere, no you're right about that. it's like a big mutation of that thing where if a dog or a cat falls asleep on you you feel sorta obligated not to move? Well this is sorta like that, except I couldn't move if I wanted to and even if I did it wouldn't wake her up." he shrugged with a sigh and a shake of his head.

"Yeah the good moms are funny that way aren't they? They always seem to know what their children need or always seem to know when they are hiding something. Boy do I remember how that felt." Stacy said with a chuckle as she thought of the times she tried to pull one over on her mom but it never seemed to work. Probably cause her mom knew her children too well. "As for education, you're right, after all experience is needed just as much as books."
As Zack compared Marigold to a cat or a dog in the regard of not being able to get up, Stacy couldn't help but laugh at the image. Probably made getting up for important matters difficult with Marigold clinging to his legs. "Let me guess, you've tried to pry her gently off when having to tend to important issues you had to get up for. She must make things awkward at times."

"Of course I've TRIED to get her off gently when I have something to do, eventually my leg would start to fall asleep. but like...I'm a human, she is a digimon, you can sorta imagine the slapstick that resulted from me trying to pry her three different sets of legs off my body with the lack of leverage implied by her clinging to my own lower body." He said, laying out the factors involved. She was stronger than him, had at the very least three different points of contact on his body and trying to pry your own legs out from under you sounded like a metaphor for doing something absurd and useless in the same vein as someone saying they tried to ice skate up hill or they tried to pour the rain back into the clouds with a bucket. "I'm pretty resigned to it by now. If it's really, really important I have my ways they just tend to look like rather mean methods of waking someone up from the outside looking in."

Stacy smiled at the thought of the potential slapstick involving Zack trying to free himself from three sets of legs from a physically much stronger creature and snickered at the visual image of his futile battle to free himself before she composed herself and said "Sounds like she's like a cat but hundreds of times worse. Makes me wonder if you lift her toward your chest or back if she would cling on while sleeping so you can move when you have to. That is if you can lift her while she sleeps of course."
At the mention of mean methods of waking someone up this perked Stacy's attention and she asked "Mean methods of waking someone up? What do you mean, Zack? Is Marigold a really heavy sleeper or something?" Sure heavy sleepers were hard to stir from their slumbers but usually only through methods that could get the one waking them in heavy duty trouble. People who startled her awake, for example, would learn the hard way how much house shoes hurt when sent flying.

Zack got a contemplative look on his face as he considered Stacy's proposal. he looked down, reaching down and grabbing Marigold by the bottom of her body. He stood up again, wobbling slightly with his legs pinned together as she grunted, straining and huffing like a hundred pound man trying to lift a three hundred pound weight with nothing but his arms. he had no leverage and he got tomato red in the face before her slumped back down in his chair, totally defeated.
"Oh no she's on there like a vise. I'd need at least some heavy moving equipment just to get her off my leg and I don't think I could fit it in the house." He said, sighing as Stacy asked how heavy a sleeper Marigold was. "I will demonstrate. This is the only method I can currently think of to get her up and at 'em again." he said, standing up and holding out his arms in a T-Pose before leaving slightly forward, then further, then further, until the center of his weight sent him crashing toward the ground, landing on top of Marigold in a bone jarring THUMP
"Hmm? alright, I'm up I'm up..." Marigold mumbled, acting like a girl getting woken up by the sun in her window. Not like she had gotten woken up by slamming into the floor under her father's whole weight.

Zack tried to move the sleeping Fanbeemon turning red from the strain of attempting this feat but it seemed Marigold was stuck there and not because she was super heavy while asleep. It was more like she had a vice like grip on her father's legs so know amount of brute force would move the little bee from her perch it seemed. Then he mentioned there was one method he could think of to awaken his daughter from her slumber. Stacy quirked an eyebrow in fascination as Zack rose to his feet before holding his arms out in a T-Pose before the rest of his plan took place as he leaned gradually forward crashing to the ground with Marigold under his weight. She gaped in surprise before leaning forward seeing Marigold was much more durable than one would guess as Zack's efforts had woken her from her deep sleep.
"Hey there, sunshine. How was your nap?" Stacy asked as she leaned forward with a playful smirk on her face looking at Marigold.

Marigold's leg joints uncoupled from one another, unlocking from her father with a sound that nearly reminded Stacy of the uncoupling of mechanical clamps, her exoskeleton clicking together as she stretched her joints out in six different directions with a yawn. Zack popped up, patting his front end down with the palms of his hands as he sat back in his seat.
"Hmm? Who me? Oh I slept great, like a lil baby." She said, giggling as she rolled her weight until she landed on her legs again and buzzed upward so she could sit, to what measure an insect could "sit" on the table in front of them both.
"See what I mean? People give me dirty looks when I rip her off the bed with her blankets or bang a metal pot right up to her ear but I PROMISE you she is made of stern enough stuff to take it and I have no other possible method to wake her up. That's sorta what happens when your kid is stronger than you by a factor of ten at the very least." He shrugged, resigned to that extra little complication in the ridiculous state of things that he called a life.

Stacy listened as Marigold's leg joints uncoupled sounding machine like despite her rookie and champion seeming fairly organic to her. Maybe giving her transformer vibes was a normal trait for some digimon with exoskeletons or maybe not, who knew with digimon as they seemed to have a unique set of rules depending on the individual and not only the species. Sure she had encountered insect digimon of various kinds and for some reason in the Digital World Dokugumon was an insect despite not being one in the Human World so maybe that species was a combo of insect and arachnid not that she was going to go back to that temple from last year to interview the spider that tried to eat her.
"Hey, Zack, didn't that rough landing hurt at least a little?" Stacy asked as Zack sat back down. Then when hearing Zack's struggles with waking his daughter she said "At least you still found a non violent approach to dealing with waking her up for the most part. Good thing digimon are pretty tough for the most part. Someone startling me awake, however, would be absorbing a house shoe with their faces. I don't take being startled awake very well."

"Did his rough landing hurt a little...lady have you been paying attention to the way he conducts himself on a daily basis?" Marigold said, a totally incredulous look on her face as she tilted her head and considered Stacy with a narrowed, sarcastic glare, the edging of a smile in the expression of her eyes made it clear that she was...mostly...joking.
"I think she's got you there, Stacy. It takes more than a fall onto my face from the vantage of my own two feet to keep me stinging for any real length of time. Though considering how I got that scar maybe I should be more judicious about using the word "stinging" with reckless abandon like that." he said, lifting up his arm to draw attention to the part of his lower torso that the queen Flymon they'd taken the building from had used for target practice.
"Dad I wish you would do a LOT of things with less reckless abandon if I'm being totally honest." She said, crossing her front limbs in front of her. They glared for a moment before they broke out laughing again. That was the most common subject of disagreement between them so they might as well be good natured about it.

Stacy grinned as it was clear Marigold was joking and said "I suppose you have a good point, Marigold, seeing as your father has the odd habit of charging headlong into battle like a smarter version of The Tick."
Stacy observed as Zack moved an arm drawing attention to his scarred torso after he spoke. "You have a point Zack seeing as you've been impaled so a faceplant by this point would be no big deal as long as the landing is right. After all a nosebleed can be a irritating inconvenience. I also keep forgetting how I have avoided severe injury by mostly dumb luck alone but I guess not everyone has my dumb luck to go on. Compared to you the closest I've come to death so far is being hurtled skyward by a Gorillamon the day I got access to my dark champion form of Sarumon. I was able to avoid being splattered on the ground in the nick of time by digivolving into Hinookamimon and hooking a tree branch with my tail after it transformed into prayer beads."
Turning to Marigold with a smile she said "Perhaps your father will mellow out a bit as he ages. I did but, then again, I used to be Hell on wheels as a kid and young adult. Not a bad kid but a handful since I was hyper." Then Stacy began laughing with the father and daughter duo as if their laughter was contagious.
