Yoyogi Park, one of the largest parks in Shibuya, is home to lovely attractions, as well as a break from the endless-like cityscape in all of Tokyo. People would come here to relax, have picnics, or exercise. Jogging is what comes to mind, for starters...
...yet, there was one girl in pink who was running, but not for recreational or health purposes. She was indeed in a hurry, hugging her backpack protectively. But many young people run in a hurry all the time. Kids tend to be late for school or whatever engagement they made.
But no, her reason was...a secret as she just raced through the crowd, not caring if she hit them by accident, and ignoring their angry cries at her. She hurried into the woods, hiding behind some trees so she could catch her breath.
"...ugh...man." Panting, she opened up her bag...and frowned at what was inside. "The scoop of the century...nay...the millennium!! And I can't report it...because you had to be so darn cute!"
"Um...i-is that...bad, Ms. Arika?" a voice from the bag spoke in a babyish tone.
Yeah...too cute. It just made her feel bad about thinking of revealing this thing to the public. "Just...stay in the bag and don't say a word until I tell you." Zipping it back up, Arika continued off, hoping to get home without a hitch. She's just too afraid to use the subway, or someone would notice her little secret in her bag.
Walking across the green was a mopey boy dragging a metal baseball bat in the grass. A boy who was passionate about baseball, but it's pretty tough to play it...especially by yourself. The fact that he's known to be a rather...sucky player in school, doesn't earn him any spots on teams outside of school. Older kids hog the baseball fields in parks, and kids from his school won't let him join in whenever they have a field to play.
Taiki at least could go to one of those self-baseball clubs to practice his hits against those pitching machines. He could barely remember last week, though, for he got beaned in the head by one of those machines. Seriously, he's beginning to think that he's as unlucky as that bald-headed kid from that American comic or cartoon. Frankly, that would make sense if that's the case.
Sighing, planning on finding a subway back home, his phone rang. It was a text message from Arika, his...well, he's hesitant to call her friend. And the reason why is that she always drags him in one of her journalism adventures, and this text sounds like it's one of them. She told him to meet her at her house, for she has something to show her.
"Let me guess, Arika...a photo of some Jpop band losing their pants on stage? Or having an affair with some controversial person?" He just hopes it's not too frustrating. He just wants to go home and play some games.

Making his way to the subway after training with his own adorable digimon partner, Ryuji slumped somewhat tired. Learning martial arts was not easy and his progress had been very slow but at least he wasn't falling on his face instantly anymore since his ready stance had improved even if his balance was still wobbly. Speaking of said cute digimon, Yoshihiro was snuggled into the depths of his hoodie clinging to Ryuji's chest napping but not noticeable due to his tamer's baggy hoodie.
Passing by Yoyogi Park Ryuji took a deep breath and wiped his messy dark bangs out of his eyes. Meanwhile Yoshihiro began to wiggle in his sleep as he sensed something all too familiar. It was a digimon. Yoshihiro's large green eyes snapped open as he made his way up Ryuji causing the eighteen year old to squirm before he, in a hushed tone said "Yoshihiro, stop that. You can't be doing that in public unless you plan on giving yourself away." Ryuji's tone was stern as if he forgot how tired he was for a moment.
As Yoshihiro's head popped out of the hoodie the Calumon said "Sorry about that but we may or may not have a problem. I sense a digimon coming from the park."
"Maybe we should check it out then. Until then stay out of sight." Ryuji said as he reached over shoving the small digimon's head back down into his hoodie and out of sight. Ryuji entered the park soon spotting nothing out of the ordinary other than a girl in her early teens wearing pink carrying a backpack and looking as if in a great hurry to get somewhere. Whether a digimon had anything to do with that or not was unknown at the time. That was until she stopped and peeked into her bag.
Yoshihiro had heard everything with his excellent hearing as his muffled voice came out from within Ryuji's hoodie as he said "Sounds like we may have found our digimon judging by what I'm hearing, Ryuji." Ryuji nodded and slowly began approaching but maintaining a safe distance as not to alarm the girl if she saw him.
"I told you we should never have brought up the belt, it was too broad to be the murder weapon." A voice next to Kai said as she was walking with a small group of her peers in uniform. The group was discussing the aftermath of a mock case they were just in and how they failed. Kai was silent the whole time as she could not believe the stupidity of half the group as they tried to make anything stick even when it was clear that they would have to fly by the seat of their pants to make anything cohesive. However Kai's attention was grabbed as soon as someone suggested odd behavior and pointed out towards a familiar face. "Ryuji..." Kai said as she recalled her experience meeting the man.
"You know that weirdo?" One asked Kai as she started to put two and two together and realize why Ryuji was acting weird and that she just admitted she knew him. "Friend of mine, yeah, he's got a heart condition and his pacemaker sometimes glitches, I should probably check on him, he's got a social disorder so don't follow." Kai said before she would follow after Ryuji, especially after seeing the Calumon. She tried to block off her peers view as they passed by as she would catch up to him.
"Idiots! Yoshihiro I expected you to be the wiser one and stay hidden or holosuit up, my peers just nearly saw you!" Kai whispered in a hissing tone as she would see that Ryuji was following someone. She pretended to look like his girlfriend and wrap her right arm around his left. "You're tailing someone?" She said not trying to divert much attention by blending around, fake smiling as well. "Give me a brief summary please."
Well, so far so good. No one seemed to notice her looking suspicious. The nearest people were some couple who were too busy being lovey-dovey to notice her. How she hates seeing people like that, though. She don't know why though...except because he just...ugh! She has no time for romance! She's a career girl...and right now, she has to deal with this little hairball.
Panting, Arika skidded to a halt when thick traffic of people cut her off. But she wasn't one to just wait for an opening. As a journalist, she takes action and grabs the opportunity by the throat. "Excuse me! Coming through!" she scowled, squeezing through the crowd.
"Hey, watch it, kid!"
"You watch my way, old man!" she shouted, pushing herself out to the other side. With a breath of relief, she dashed off.
"Are we there yet, Ms. Arika?"
"I told you not to talk!" She already looks suspicious, running in a big hurry when it's not even a school day. She's just not good with lies so much that she gets an anxiety attack when it involves lying. How is she supposed to keep this...thing around if she can't calm down while lying? She can't believe that she's thinking of keeping it. But, she has a hunch that this thing is involved with all those 'accidents' that's been happening lately. She just needs to get home, and---
And she spotted a familiar boy in the color of red. "Taki!"
"Uh, is this 'Taki' a type of food, Ms. Arika?"
"No, he's just..." She so tired of explaining everything to this thing. She just wants to grab Taki and get out of dodge. "Taki!" And she hurried over to him.
Well, here he was, on a sidewalk with so many people walking. Do people come here as some sort of shortcut? He's pretty sure that people come to a park to relax from the bustling metropolis. This place is noisy enough as it is. Well, he needs to get across this traffic to head on home, so...
"Uhh...excuse me?" His words fell on deaf ears before trying to find an opening. Spotting a rather thin opening, Taki tried to slip through... "AGH!!" But he was caught in the 'rapids', forced along the 'currents'. "Hey, do you people even see me?" Pulling himself through... "AAH!!"
...he was launched out of the traffic, slamming hard onto the floor. The impact caused his bookbag to open up, spilling his charging wires...
...and a unfamiliar red device.
"Huh?" It looks like some sort of electronic toy, which he has no knowledge of even owning one. Maybe someone in that crowd accidentally dropped it in his bag. Well...no way he can find the owner, so finders keepers.
Standing up, his eyes shot wide with shock before he quickly recognized the girl he was supposed to meet back home. But what a coincidence that they run into each other. "...hey, Arika," he groaned, not prepared to meet her already.

Yoshihiro didn't get mad at Kai's tone with him as she had a very good point but sighed from within Ryuji's hoodie looking up seeing his tamer's face from with in the red clothing. Hearing Kai understandably had Ryuji confused as he turned in the direction of the teen's voice his icy blue eyes widening in shock as she grabbed onto him looking as if his poor brain was struggling to process what was happening as he said "K-Kai? Wha-?" This was all the older teen was able to sputter out as his eyes rolled back in his head before he passed out.
Ryuji would of likely have yanked Kai down with him as he began to fall if Yoshihiro didn't crawl out of the bottom of the hoodie somehow avoiding staying out of sight of human and camera alike but how even he didn't know. Activating his holosuit also without being noticed by strangers he grabbed Ryuji's free arm stopping his tamer's fall as he said "Easy there, Ryuji." Sure Yoshihiro didn't know if Ryuji heard him but it felt the right thing to do at the time before he looked at Kai and said "Ryuji and I came here cause I sensed a digimon nearby and it was coming from that girl's bag." He then pointed to the girl who was now running through the crowd.
"I thought his Gynophobia only applied to women he doesn't know? It applies to all women? Must make dating really awkward for the poor guy." She said after nearly falling over holding onto Ryuji before his Digimon partner would come out to help him. After Yoshihiro would have a steady hold on him, Kai slowly let go of Ryuji to let him breathe. Kai would double check her blazer's internal pocket to make sure her Xros Loader was where it should be and didn't do much beyond that as she did not want to start something in the middle of the very public park
"I saw you starting to poke out but I was surrounded by peers, it'd be uncharacteristic of me to run off so I told them Ryuji was having pacemaker issues, and when I got close I realized it'd look suspect for me to just stop so I had to either go lovey dovey or fighting in appearance, I chose the less, attention seeking one naturally." She said as she was looking at the pink clad girl and the boy in red.
"That her? The girl in the pink next to the boy in red?" She said as she would gaze at his hand. She was not sure from this far away, but she had her suspicions. "You positive it was the girl you were following? His hand, you see it? I can't tell for certain but it looks like a Digivice, the D-3 Model you two have." She said as she was getting a bit tense trying to prepare for the possibility.
Frankly, trying to be a reporter doesn't lead you to many friends. Reporters are sometimes considered to be the tattle-tellers of life, and people hate tattle-tellers. It's why not a lot of people help her chase after a story or handle her cameras. It's why she trusts Taki, because, despite his complaining, he doesn't report her actions, nor say no whenever she needs him. Of course, he just needs that pull...
...like right now, because she saw a red device in his hand that looks like...
"Taki!" she hissed, grabbing his wrist before pulling him away. There were still too many people around, and...she has a feeling that she was being followed. While being a reporter doesn't gift you many friends, it does make some enemies. You could stumble onto some info that you shouldn't know, and involving parties of that said info might stalk you and...well...well, you could gain a sixth sense for stalkers, if you survive through that type of experience.
So, she hurried through another line of living traffic, cutting through the people almost as clean as butter. "Excuse us!"

is being dragged around
Why does he always just stand there before Arika? He knows that she only needs him for something, and then they're done. He can't remember the last time they did something together like friends normally do...if they ARE friends. She was nice to him when they first met, but after that journalism assignment they only hang around when it involves some stupid reporter adventure. Does he only let her boss and drag him around because he doesn't have any other friends in this city?
And speaking of drag, Arika grabbed his arm, "Hey, what are you doing? What's going on?" And she pulled him away toward another traffic of people. She wasn't telling him anything, which could mean that something spooked her, and that she was trying to escape from it. And of course, she had to drag him into her mess.
"AGH!" And they went into the crowd of very tall people. He has no idea how she can easily slip through people, but he's bouncing off people like a pinball, chained to an RC car or something. "Ow! Arika, watch where you-OW!"

"I don't know if his issue is a phobia of any kind per say but more of he is shy around girls near his age. Normally at most he just stares at his sneakers as if they hold all the secrets of the universe. This is the first time I've seen the poor guy faint though and he's been through some messed up shit since he met me." Yoshihiro said as he lifted one hand and began poking Ryuji in the face almost playfully if not for how worried he looked. He was just looking for a reaction. Any kind of a reaction even if it was annoyance. "Still your idea was brilliant as it gives the poor guy some cover for his fainting spell but I think at worse you grabbing him just over loaded his brain."
When Kai indicated the boy and girl Yoshihiro nodded and said "Yup. That's her. I heard a voice coming from her bag. Though I didn't know the boy had a digivice too. Makes me wonder where his partner is."
""If they even met yet that is, or perhaps the device isn't his. I've heard of Digivices falling into other peoples hands lately." Kai interjected as she did not rush to any conclusion for the moment. She did meet a woman who inherited a Digivice from her late mother so she knew it was not totally out of the question. However Kai could tell by the body language of the girl what she was planning. Kai ran track for so long she could practically smell the build up it takes before someone bolts. "She recognized the device. Runner in three, two, and..." She said snapping her fingers as the boy and girl the trio was following would start to run through traffic.
"Picked the wrong day to not wear my track gear underneath my uniform..." She said before starting to speed up a bit. "Though speed isn't everything..." She said as she did the math in her head as she would follow them. She was not totally worried as she knew that they wouldn't lose the duo quite yet. She maintained a lock onf them as she would keep going. "They're panicking, in a rush. If we just keep steady, one of them is bound to screw up. The boy seems to be being lead and is a collaborator, while the girl is quite, impulsive. However the slight disconnect between them will provide a chance."
"Only questionable variable in the mix is when Ryuji regains and subsequently loses composure, unless tomboy looking girls are an exception to his strange rule." She said as she had already considered everything in the scenario she could for the moment.

When the traffic calmed and parted...the kids were no where to be seen. It was as if they had training in concealment from master ninjas. It'll be tough to find them now...
...unless they had good hearing, like their Calumon...
...and once the teens hid in the woods, Arika forcing Taki to duck behind the hedges, the boy's frustration had the chance to peak. "What's the b-"
And the girl covered his mouth.
He really wanted to vent his anger on her, but it seems that he won't get any answers unless he play along with her and at least lower his volume. She's just the type of girl that won't give you straight answers unless you play her game.
So, Taki pulled her arm away and gritted, trying to control his anger enough to make a whisper. "Alright, what's going on Arika? Who did you ticked off this time?" Once again, she always gets herself into trouble, and he has to bail her out...with less than average success.
Rgh, she keeps forgetting that Taki has the subtlety of a clumsy elephant. His cries of pain were just giving away their position. So she covered his mouth before ducking into some woods before the crowd died down. Once she felt that they were safe, she removed her hand...only for Taki to show that she still need to keep that big mouth shut.
"Ugh! Quiet, you fool! Just calm that stupid temper, and I'll tell you what's going on. Okay?" Though she wasn't going to stop him from glaring at him, he did seem to calm down a bit. So she slowly removed her hand...before he just pushed it away.
Well, at least he's whispering.
"Jeez, I don't tick off everyone. Jeez. Okay, you're not going to believe this, so it's best that I show you."
Taking off her bag from her back, she opened it up...
...allowing a little cute creature to poke out and smile at Taki.
"Hi!" The creature chirped.
Aaaaand it looked like Taki was getting pale as he was cringing... "WAAH?!" and startled.

"Perhaps it doesn't belong to him but those two definitely know each other judging by their reactions." Yoshihiro said as the two young teens began to bolt.
Ryuji's eyes began to slowly open before he said "Wha?" He was looking around groggily but was not able to get much out before Yoshihiro tugged his tamer along and somehow the weary Ryuji was keeping pace with his partner's dead sprint. "Slow down. What's going on?"
"Explain later, Ryuji. We still have a digimon to track down remember?" Yoshihiro said before scooping his tall tamer into an improvised piggyback ride and speeding up. Somehow the group made it away from the confusion they surely created passing the other humans before coming to a stop not far from the woods. No people were in sight but the feel there was a digimon nearby was still apparent.
"Yoshihiro, do you mind?" Ryuji asked sounding annoyed to be jerked around before carried like one would carry a child before Yoshihiro silently set the older teen on his feet.
"Sorry man." Yoshihiro said. He knew Kai would catchup pretty quickly since he didn't run very far. Then a sound caught his attention and even though the holosuit muffled most of his powers his ears were slightly more accute than an average humans while using his holosuit. Spinning on his heel in the direction of the voices he said "You don't have to hide. Please come out."
